The woman at the front desk is very rude. Terrible customer service. When our couples massage was over, which the masseuses did not do a full 60 mins, she told us to get our shoes and give our tip to the masseuses. I gave them $10 and the front desk associate decides that’s not enough and pointed me to the suggested tip list which says $30. I only had an extra $5 and she rolls her eyes. This was my boyfriends first massage and experience and her attitude ruined it for him. Never again!

Fantastic experience. It was only 90$ for a 60 min couples massage. Equivalent experience anywhere else would be close to $200. Highly recommend it.

My fiance and I did the couples massage and loved it! Can't beat $90 to cover both people for a full hour. They don't talk your ear off for 10 minutes, then get started, they just get straight to business. Regarding some of the other reviews I read, yes they do have recommendations for tipping. Our $90 massage had a recommended tip of $30 (to cover both of the masseuses). When you consider how affordable the massage rates are, the tips are not outlandish. I highly recommend going here for your massages!

Visit went well. I didn't feel more relaxed though. Have your ever gotten a massage or a shoulder rub where you involuntarily moan from the stress melting away? I have, but unfortunately didn't get that relaxing feeling here. Other than that they were professional courteous and mindful of any bruises you tell em about.

REAL deep tissue massage

2 days after my massage and I'm still in pain. My masseuse was male. I usually like male masseuses because they are stronger and I like more pressure and just a stronger massage. But this one was terribly bad. He was vigorous like he was in a race. You know when you go to hibachi? I felt like the grill and his hands where the spatulas banging against by body. I repeatedly asked him to be more gentle and not once did even try to be more gentle. My body was clenched the entire time as he dug his fist and elbows into my back. There was nothing pleasant, everything hurt- even my legs! I would have walked out but it was part of a girls trip and I didn't want to offend anyone or ruin someone's day. But the girl next time me was also telling her masseuse that it was too vigorous, too hard, and the stones were too hot. This was horrible. The next day my back was so sore (not my muscles) but my actual back. I felt like i was a punching bag. The 2nd day and still in pain The most frustrating part was telling him repeatedly to be more gentle and he never let up.

Like many other reviewers, we purchased the Groupon for the couples massage. We called to schedule a few days ahead of time so that may have been the reason for limited time availability, but the woman who answered seemed a bit impatient, as others mentioned. When we arrived the receptionist was friendly and we didn't wait long. She informed us there was a male and female so she asked if we had a preference which was nice since my partner felt more comfortable with a woman but hadn't felt comfortable asking on the phone. She gave instructions how to undress and left us to prepare privately. The deep tissue massage is no joke - they asked how much pressure we'd like and I requested a medium to lot of pressure and Marvin didn't hold back. Massage was mostly shoulders and back, and included walking on our backs and use of plenty of pressure to get deep tissue. Some parts were a little painful and definitely feeling a bit sore into the next day, but to be fair I didn't ask him to go lightly. My partner also enjoyed her massage, she did have to ask for a lighter touch which was respected. Overall enjoyed the experience and we'll likely be back

I surprised my boyfriend with a couple's massage for his birthday today. I bought the Groupon and decided to check this place out. He's been sick and stressed out so I figured he would love this and sure enough he did! From the moment we walked in, the receptionist was very kind and welcoming. We took our shoes off at the entrance and we went into our room. It was dimmed lightning, low music and it was very calming. I will say, we were very satisfied and will be returning. Thank you ladies so much!!

I never thought a massage could be so awful. Way too vigorous and painful. I asked my masseuse to be softer multiple times and he kept saying ok but continued to painfully dig his arms and elbows into me. I kept thinking I just want this to be over. My boyfriend had a lady masseuse and said she did the same thing. He said at points he was praying for it to be over. I think they need to teach the therapists English or at least what “softer” means. If you like getting beat up I recommend this place.

My boyfriend and I had a couples massage and it was fantastic. It's got a very zen vibe. We had two male massage therapists, and they were wonderful and professional. My massage was a little too intense for my liking, but that's my own fault because I asked for a lot of pressure. They used some wonderful hot towels at a couple of points, and there were a few techniques that were new to me but felt wonderful. Prices are good and the service is great. 100% recommend.

I recently had a 2 hour treatment and was impressed. This is hard to do b/c I am a licensed MT and I know when I have an inexperienced therapist. Anna was great! My husband was too kind to loan her to me when we returned. My 1st experience was nothing to write home about. A Male I had about 1 month earlier I think was too afraid to apply any pressure and that made my 1st experience here so/so. We will be returning in the near future.

I’m not coming back ever! First of all I came cause I wanted to have a RELAXED DAY NOT TO HAVE MORE PAIN. The massage was too strong my body hurts now I told to please focus on some areas but they did not. Plus the girl in the front desk she doesn’t have ANY CUSTOMER SERVICE SHE JUST WANTS THE MONEY. She practically obligated to leave more tip, I know I have to leave a tip im not a cheap person and I’m aware of that but to be honest I didn’t have that much cash on me. Just rude and I didn’t even like the massage I ended up paying $75 plus the tip for something that wasn’t really worth it and I don’t think they are licensed therapists. I’m prrsonally not Coming here again.

I usually never give feed back or rate places , but this is the most awful experience I’ve ever had! I asked for sweedish massage and I was asked if I have any pain and I don’t.The lady that gave me the massage focused SO much on my shoulders for some reason and kept massaging same place over and over 20 times, that at one point I felt like my shoulder was broken , awful pain! Awful and painful experience, when all I wanted was relaxing time and very light pressure on the massage! Its the second day after the massage and my shoulder is in pain, and the area between my shoulder and my neck is swollen(is this even normal?)! This is unbelievable , I have had many massages done before and never have I felt this type of pain before !

I've been to Massage House for both a couples massage and a solo massage. Been very pleased each time! The spa is very clean and quiet, and each massage therapist I've had has done a great job. They'll periodically check in to make sure pressure's ok and that you're comfortable with what they're doing, but not overly chatty throughout (and I've had some chatty massages, woof). Price is pretty solid - $48 for a solo 60 minute massage; XSport Spa wanted at least $80 for the same thing, and you get the full 60 minutes. Parking can be a little tough but overall definitely my top spot in Chicago for a massage!

2 reviews 1.0 star rating 9/16/2016 Got a couples massage, and it was very painful. I kept asking my masseuse to be softer, and she didn't speak English. I tried telling her that i had a shoulder injury, so to definitely be soft there (even though it was too hard all over). The front desk lady translated for her what I said, but she was still painfully massaging shoulder. Then I said no when she did massaged the shoulder again, and she said okay, and kept massaging there, which has flared up the pain. It was all terrible. I wanted to get up and leave. It was frantic massaging that was way too hard, all over. And then she gave me a major wedgie, when she was roughly massaging my butt. STAY AWAY!!! I don't think these are licensed massage therapists.

Came here last week before the Chicago marathon for a pre-race massage. I got myself the Groupon, which was an amazing deal for a one hour massage. First, they were amazing and super nice when I called to book (3 days before my massage). I was worried I wouldn't even be able to get in with it being so close to the marathon, but they were super accommodating and were able to get me in that Friday late afternoon. Upon arriving, you check in at the front desk. They ask you to take off your shoes and you are given some flip flops to wear. They quickly got me into my room and offered me water. The room itself was extra relaxing with a bowl of rose petals and a rose on the bed. Dim lights and soft music and relaxing scents filled the rest of the room. I had Coco for my massage therapist. She was so nice and asked me what kind of massage I wanted and if I had any troublesome areas. I informed her I had the marathon in 2 days so she did a deep tissue but was lighter in areas to better relax my muscles. Everything was great to be honest. After I was given water and offered some candy. To top it off, they gave me another massage to use before the year is over for the same Groupon price! This place is at the top of my list in the city of Chicago.

My boyfriend and I came here for the first time during our anniversary trip to Chicago. No doubt the best place we have ever been! Jim and Mandy were very thorough, and Mandy knew every point that needed to be worked out and customized the massage to fit my body - not to mention the hot stones were amazing. As a lifter it was just what I needed to relax and loosen my sore muscles. 5 stars all the way, and we will definitely be back every time we visit the city!

I am a powerlifter, so I suffer some muscular pain frequently. Jim knew exactly what he was doing and I felt like I was floating after! I totally recommend this place! Jessica is a fantastic host.

I went in for a 60 minute massage with a Groupon. When I was asked what kind of massage I would like, I said just slightly less than a deep tissue. I was hoping to get a solid massage without the extreme pain of a deep tissue. I basically had lotion and oil rubbed oh so gently on my body for 60 minutes, to the point where it was more gentle than how I put lotion on my legs and arms normally. During the leg/butt portion of the massage they make your underwear into basically a thong, which is fine as I understand they need to get the fabric out of the way....but there were several times during this bit that I felt extremely uncomfortable with the location of her fingers to my lady parts. Needless to say, I did not feel more relaxed or pain free after my massage and wasted both my money and time. The only thing I can say that could explain some of this was that I was likely the last appointment of the night o perhaps my masseuse was fatigued....but still.

I bought a Groupon and tried this place. It was great! Clean, nice staff, great ambiance. My masseuse (Owen) was very polite and attentive to my needs. Wherever I needed softer or a firmer touch, he complied, and I was very specific with what I wanted. I've been to enough parlors to know to speak up for what I want and need in order to get the best massage. I'm glad I voiced my needs because he met them!

I gave the couples massage to my sister and her boyfriend had purchased it from groupon i am not sure if because the massage was bought from groupon they were given the worst service ever. They asked for a swedish massage and what they got was a painful uncomfortable experience. If you are not willing to give 100% of your job don't sell it on Groupon. Horrible experience never going back...

Massages are priced fairly, the staff is very friendly, free street parking, love the couples massage, there is tea and slippers while you wait. There's also a shower, but I've never used it and it smells wonderful as soon as you walk in! Today we had Tina and Lily.

I got a couple's massage deal via Groupon. The appointment was easy to make and the voucher was easy to redeem when we got there. We had some hot tea in the lounge while we waited (we showed up 10 mins beforehand). The room was comfortable, calm, and the tables felt so soft and nice. They got a lot of knots out for the two of us. It was totally worth it for the Groupon price. I would pay full price for that. I plan on going here again. Note: Bring cash for the tip at the front desk. We had no idea that was a thing. They let us put it on a card, but they preferred if we had cash. Notes for next time.

My boyfriend and I went for a couples massage and we were very comfortable during the entire experience. I’ve gotten massages at many of the corporate chains and this was a better way to go because of the rate, the massage techniques, and the professionalism of the employees. It was easy to make an appointment and even the day of the appointment there were not a bunch of forms to fill out like at most places. I definitely recommend this place for young couples and students looking for an affordable rate and good alternative experience.

This place has a horrible policy when it comes to honoring groupons. They offer a groupon but treat patrons who purchase them as if their service isn't wanted. They limit Groupon holders to the most inconvenient appointment times. It took us weeks to get them to schedule us because of this. Terrible service. Terrible establishment. Please save yourself the trouble.
