Gaby is AMAZING. I was looking to take off a lot of length to make my hair easier maintain, but was nervous to work with a stylist I wasn't familiar with since was such a drastic change. The reviews Gaby had made me feel confident in the choice of EGA and she exceeded my expectations! She is so attentive to detail and artistic in developing the look you want! She carefully explained every step and described a method to get the maximum utilization out of your products. I wish I wasn't just a student; I easily would have left her a $100 tip, she is worth every penny and more. My hair has never felt this way before and my confidence has been completely reinvigorated. I'm from the area but currently live in Michigan and will be moving abroad shortly, but I will FOREVER return to Chicago to have her take care of me. Ain't nobody else touching my hair again! Thank you so much Gaby! The first picture is right after my cut on the train home, the second is my hair 8 days later (I haven't washed it yet as I usually go 7-10 days) and I just rolled out of bed! I love my cut even more now than the day of - even though it's so short, I can still put my hair in a pony tail!

I had a really great experience with Gaby S. I wanted a DevaCut done and wanted my hair to have be more even and have a shape and delivered just that! She was extremely helpful and kind! She was more than happy to explain how the products worked in my hair and showed me how to apply them as well. I will definitely be back! 10/10 would recommend

I am super happy that this place expanded to Milwaukee! they are excellent and I only wish them success, their level of expertise is outstanding and their customer service is beyond good! they definitely know what they are doing, my hair always looks amazing and my skin as well, I got my nails done there too but I think their forte is definitely skin and hair! please continue to support this brand they don't do anything but to contribute with the community!

THE BEST curly haircut I’ve received! I was looking everywhere for someone who could give me the best results and could not find it until I came to EGA. Erika did an excellent job with my curls cut and dye and she is so nice! I would recommend for all curly girls to come to EGA Salon and Spa!

1. Gaby will become visibly annoyed if your Deva Cut takes longer than 90min. 2. I didn’t experience Gaby’s passion for helping clients find cool hair styles for their curly hair. 3. I was disappointed by the Deva Cut experience, it was the same as getting any other hair cut except they start by cutting dry, not mind blowing at all. 4. My haircut turned out the same as if I would have gotten my hair cut in Humbolt Park or Little Village: even but basic, but for $40 not $80 5. You have to go to your deva cut with your hair styled (I didn’t know, which made my appointment take longer) 6. It’s just ok

Guys: take my advice and schedule a cut with Emily. You won't find someone with her attention to detail, with consistently high quality work anywhere close to these rates. What's more, despite being called a salon, guys won't feel out of place.

I rarely ever review any places but I have to give a heads up to all my curly haired guys and girls out there...GO TO PAUL M! I know how dramatic this sounds but he literally transformed my hair, there's no other way for me to put it. After years of damage, my hair was frail, uneven and so dry. He cut off only what was necessary but made sure to keep a lot of length (which i asked for). He put in so much time and effort literally teaching me the right way to do each step from applying shampoo and conditioner to applying styling cream to diffusing your hair the right way( believe me, I know now how important techniques are with curly hair) and he's so knowledge about it too because he spent over 3 years teaching other stylist how to work with curly/wavy hair at DevaCurl in LA. I walked out with a head full of shiny waterfall type curls...I cant even remember the last time I've seen my curls look that healthy! I wish I had a before and after photo to show the seriously drastic difference but I don't cause I've always hated taking pictures when my hair is curly. Not the case anymore. Long story short, Paul is my only hair stylist from now on.

Great place. I had a haircut by Emily and a manicure by Erika. Both were excellent. Everyone is very friendly, welcoming, and accepting. I came in with messed up hair due to a bad cut from a different salon and Emily was able to work with it and make my hair beautiful again. She also helped me pick out some great hair products to get the frizz out of my hair. I like low-maintenance hair regimens, and EGA was very accommodating. Definitely give this place a try, you won't be disappointed!

I had a no chip mani and signature pedi here with Erica. It's mostly a hair place, as in more set up for that. Not an actual tub and such, but don't let that stop you! This is probably the best mani pedi I've got in the city for the price! Plus Erica gives a great shoulder massage! Do it, you won't regret it!

Erika was wonderful to work with. She is very knowledgeable in her field and really took the time to get to know my concerns and help me figure out a good skin care regimen to work with. You can tell she really has a passion for what she does. It was also very easy and convenient to book online which I appreciate. I would highly recommend EGA salon and Erika for your skin care needs!

I have been going to this Salon and Spa for over a year I get my hair done by Em now before I used to see Emily but she is so busy that sometimes I cant get in with her so I have been seeing Em they are both very nice girls and always do a good job my hair always look healthy and the color never looks orange, I also see the owner Erika for my skin care she is excellent she really loves to do facials and loves her business she is so attentive and nice plus my regimen for skin care has improved the dryness on my skin. they also have a great rewards program, so because I spent so much money there I will be receiving a complimentary facial! they are really good at customer service. I am moving out of Chicago to the suburbs soon but I am still going to come in here because their level of expertise is just something that you don't find to often... Thank you EGA please expand soon we need more salons like yours =)

My hair was so bad and is also really brittle and fine. I am always scared to do highlights but I had to to fix the color I had. Emily was AMAZING. She was so careful with my hair and did EXACTLY what I asked for. I literally have never had such a great hair dresser before. And I've also never had anyone be so good with my fine, brittle hair when highlighting and cutting. Will be going back.

I went yesterday to get a no chip mani and pedi. Erika, the owner, did a great job, and was so nice and welcoming. I also bought some great-smelling lavander body butter, that she makes at home. Although this is not near my home or work, I'll be back. I want to see her succeed!

Disclaimer: this review is about 1-2 months late. If you want your curls to (1) pop, (2) defined, (3) healthy AND if you want to (4) save money GO. TO. PAUL. Period point blank. He is a genius. And well, like more geniuses he’s very passionate. So he may have more personality than one is used to but trust him, trust the process, etc. He didn’t just demonstrate how to style my hair, he INVOLVED me in the process. And showed me some tips on how to stretch out my product. Let’s just say, I will be seeing Paul again in June for a trim.

I had a really great experience my hair stylist was probably the sweetest person i've ever met and they offer you drinks and magazines etc. I wasn't really expecting deva service or anything but i just feel like a lot of hair places don't really know how to deal with curly hair and this is one of them. I really don't use combs or towels on my hair and it needs like triple the amount of conditioner that straight hair needs, especially when getting it dyed so maybe just let your stylist know if you have curly hair and prefer that. I like my color i'm glad it was very toned and they got the copper out but it's kind of gray, which i don't really mind i like it and i know it will allow my natural color to come in well.

I love Emily C! I went in for my FIRST ever color and a Deva cut (virgin 3c hair, African American) . She put me at ease explaining the process every step of the way. My results are SPICY HOT (see before, during and after pics)!!! I love my summer hair and have gotten soooo many compliments!!! Results were so great, I came back to check out her mani/pedi skills… Emily has a customer for life!

I've been a customer EGA since it first opened back in 2016. The staff are all friendly and take a lot of pride in their work! I've done mani/pedis, haircuts, and a facial and chemical peel and have never had anything less than a great experience. After the facial and chemical peel, my skin looked much better than it has recently. Erica is a true skincare expert! I highly recommend EGA for all of your beauty needs!
