Not sure about the spa, but the fitness center was piss poor. The gym is ok, but the service is nonexistent. Locker rooms were not open during the times listed. No one at the desk to get the locker rooms open. Steam room was only on once. Other times it was just turned off, or locked. What a joke for a hotel of this caliber!!!!

After being really stressed out from a recent death and having a new born, I though hey maybe going to the Spa would be a great Idea... Wrong. The ladies at the front desk took 40mins to book my appointment and then after my treatment it took 30mins to check out... The spa services were great everything else was not. The next day I realized I was overcharged $250.00 When I called to have it resolved they simply told me they can't do anything about it and to call my bank... Really Really.... Not cool :-(

Not a good experience! First of all, the lockers, pool, and steam rooms are on on the 8th floor and the spa is on the 5th which is complicated to get to. They give you a big, unattractive bag to carry your personal items in, to either take up to 8 for a locker (which is to big for the locker) or waddle around the spa with this thing. When going back and forth, we found ourselves wearing our robes and walking through a work convention to get back to the spa!! The pool, and the jacuzzi are disgusting and dirty with fake flowers and rummage sale furniture - who wants to see fake flowers at the spa!! No spa snacks or pretty containers with water. The locker room is also a joke - no where to stand or sit if there's more than 4 people in there and it too is old. The massage was just ok however my pedicure by Susie was the best. My friend had a bad nail experience and ended up wasting an hour and then getting a refund. This place needs to close down, revamp the space entirely, and then re-open but until then, don't call it a SPA, nothing here is relaxing, I'd give it a 1 if it weren't for Susie the nail tech. Susie, go to the SPA at the Four Seasons, it's a much better fit for you.

Lovely atmosphere, timely service, but very regimented processes. I felt like everyone was being timed. Too many coats of polish in manicure without drying time, had to return before I even got out of the building for touch up. Very reasonable rates, but the manicure was not well done. Express facial was OK, extended pedicure was excellent.

I went to Balance Spa this past friday night before going out for St. patrick's day. I did not want to leave! I could have spent the whole night there. The staff made me feel like family, and every detail was done to perfection. Even the air freshener they used was beautiful and relaxing. Thanks for the royal treatment.

I was in town while my husband was attending a conference. I had a short time frame to book an appointment and they were very accommodating. I have to give Martha many thanks for an amazing facial. Really enjoyed my experience at the spa. I did use the facilities on the above floor for steam room. The spa contacted the gym services and everyone was very nice and made it simple and very relaxing for me. I will definitely use them again.

Had an amazing deep tissue massage from Voni. Exceptional. Beautiful, tranquil surroundings. Gorgeous rooms. Excellent service. Music leaves a lot to be desired though. A bit techno in places and then elevator. Needs to be a little more zen.

Beautiful, clean and calm space, great staff who provide excellent service. I felt like I had spa concierges, not just a massage therapist and esthetician. I had an evening of pampering and would love to come back for more. A spa-gem in a gorgeous historic hotel downtown: what is not to love?!

Absolutely sub standard for what I was expecting to get on my surprise date to The Infamous Palmer House. I felt like I was in the lobby getting spa services. There was nothing warm cozy or zen about the experience. It was just what I would expect from hotel chain cruise ship spa services and actually the cruise ship spa services was actually pretty fantastic. The relaxation room furniture is anything but comfortable and Im 135 5'5" but for my 6'5" husband the worse and i couldnt even sit next to him because the seats kept sliding apart that were pushed together to make a "loveseat" we were their for COUPLES treatments and were separated the whole time. The massage room was cold started late and with all the fluffing around of the sheets and blankets which eventually slide off during my massage I got less than 50mins. The massage had no rhythm and I just felt like a piece of meat being poked and tenderized as you could feel him rushing through the massage to make sure my 3 oclock massage that started at 305 was over at 354. I am a massage therapist so when we got home I was able to save my husbands CANCELLED massage because he 1. booked a couples massage which meant we should have been in the same room and we werent 2. he really wasnt a fan of having another big black man give him a massage. There is no harm in asking a man if he would prefer a male or female therapist when booking. Or just using industry common sense most men do not want to be massaged by another man. Your staff argued with us to the point where we had to pull out our reservation and show them we booked a couples massage only then did they apologize told us they didnt have room and then offered no recourse we had to argue for that too and was only given a refund on his massage. We had 90mins between our pedicures and our massages they parked us in the un relaxation room with no instruction about retrieving us to use the spa during our wait time. 30mins later I asked and was met with an excuse "we were waiting for your feet to dry" then an apology about how busy they were and forgot, which is it :-/. I def'ly did not appreciate shuffling through the hotel in my robe lugging a beach tote of my belongings up an elevator down a hall to be met by blaring urban music with commercials while in the locker room. Music with objectionable lyrics that i wouldnt play at home and wouldnt let my children listen to. honestly guys you cant afford $4/ month commercial free pandora. Again we were separated as the saunas are in the locker rooms. Had it not been for the sentiment behind the gesture this would have been a total wash. I will not recommend your hotel for anything to anyone.

Overall, I enjoyed my services and all the spa staff were polite and a pleasure. I found it inconvenient to go to another floor of the hotel to enjoy the Jacuzzi and the steam room. However, at this time, I would have liked to come to the spa again. Unfortunately, upon leaving the hotel, I parked my car with lights flashing on Monroe where the sign clearly states "15 minute standing with flashing lights." After leaving my car to go into Corner Bakery, the doorman, DJ, ran over to my car and told me that I could not park there and proceeded to take a picture of my license plate. I asked him to delete the picture and he said he would do so after I moved my car. He said that he would call the police and they would give me a ticket if I left my car there. I refused to move my car until he deleted the picture of my license plate and asked him to please call the police and we could asked them if I could leave my car there. He did not call the police and deleted the photo after an unpleasant conversation with him. Once I told him I had just left the hotel, he proceeds to tell me that it was ok for me to leave my car there and that I should have told him that I had just valet my car at the hotel!!! As much as I enjoyed my services and left feeling relaxed ad calmed, doorman DJ ruined it for me!
