Wow! This place is magical! The remodel was more than I could have imagined! The staff is very nice and the ambience is heavenly! Can’t say enough good things about spa and amenities! The best in the valley in my opinion.... however.... I do have to add this: my husband bought treatments for us during a stressful time and I called to make sure I had a female therapist AND requested a specific therapist by name. I was assured I would have that therapist. When we checked in, I was NEVER notified they changed my therapist and gave me a MALE therapist (for a deep tissue massage). I specifically asked for a female therapist I had in past whom I really liked. I was shocked when a male came to get me in waiting area. I should have said no, but didn’t want to cause a fuss and hurt anyone’s feelings. I was so angry and spoke to front desk: she shrugged her shoulders and said, “well, we have to even out people’s schedules so everyone has clients”.. NOT my problem. Spas should NEVER change a therapist especially when you are expecting a specific one you have chosen and NEVER switch the GENDER of the therapist. As I mentioned, I was never notified of any change before we came in that day and they NEVER let me know when we checked in. This should NEVER happen. I truly was shocked at the ambivalence of person who checked me in and of the one whom I brought this to their attention. I am SO disappointed because this is my favorite spa and I go several times a year... we also buy several gift certificates for our family, friends and employees. What a disappointment. No follow up from management!

My wife works hard so I thought I'd surprise her with a day of luxury. And when I think of luxury spas I think of The Phoenician. I planned a full day: A nice lunch or maybe an early dinner, relaxation with cocktails next to the rooftop pool, the sauna, the steam room, manicure, pedicure and an amazing massage. The only monkey wrench in my plans was that despite dropping a grand at the spa we were denied access to the restaurants in the resort as we were not staying at the resort. Learning this wasn't a pleasant surprise and the exclusion made us feel unwelcome and inferior. Naturally the spa website doesn't clearly state that you won't be able to eat at the restaurants, quite the opposite. The spa website has a dropdown list full of dining options that spa customers aren't allowed to experience. Why show the list to the spa customers? Think about keeping that list exclusive to the resort page. Despite ruining our day with the denied restaurant access, the spa treatments were amazing and the entire spa staff were professional and on point.
