REVIEWS OF The Healing Arts Day Spa IN Arizona

Jennifer Gonzales

I love my massages. My only complaint is no one ever answers the phone. Very frustrating.

Peggy Locklear

Excellent services ,the staff is very personable. Was a great experience. Thank you so much, Terrell Lynn, and Tara for a wonderful time.

Daniel Acosta

An incredible group of massage therapists that offer full 60/90/120 minute massages. You won’t be disappointed.

Tita Rosca Hartley, PhD

I am very pleased with my hot rocks massage session and getting an appointment with Terrell Lyn. I highly recommend the healing arts day spa to anyone who likes effective, quality, and competent massages. Tita R.

Charged my 70 year old mom for a service she was never provided. This happened yesterday 3/6/18. She was on the schedule per the front desk, checked in 20 mins ahead of time, then was told at the last minute that she had been taken off the schedule because she didn’t reply to an email. Ummmmmm...the client is right in front of you...they charge $69 and told her to go home. Wouldn’t reverse the charge.

Hannah Gallo

Treated myself to the hot stone massage on Monday with Amanda! It felt amazing. Serving everyday has taken its toll on my lower back and she did a tremendous job listening to where I was hurting. The hot stones definitely made a huge impact! (I found myself looking forward to the sound of her grabbing another hot one!) 2 hours was great, I felt bad cause I had to keep adjusting alot trying not to fall asleep and I've never had that level of comfort at any other place. Definitely drink alot of water before and after. (Didn't take it to seriously and left feeling beyond thirsty after.) great job Amanda! Will be coming back soon!

They did not honor my discount that was applied when I booked. The therapist spent 10 minutes on my feet when I specifically said focus on upper body and avoid feet. She stopped the massage at exactly 60 minutes without ever touching my chest and hardly massaging my arms.

Shari Christensen

My Mom and I each did a 60 minutes deep tissue. Both of our masseuses were amazing! They also worked with our schedule to fit us in. Exceptional customer service and wonderful prices for outstanding services!!

Sierra Bessey

These guys are great. I dont know what all this hoopla is about how horrible the customer service is because when i was in there just today I was greeted and helped immediately. The massage was INCREDIBLE! I instantly was relaxed, i was comfortable and all was good, when it was over they greeted me in the loby with a cup of water. All around my experience was great and I will definitely go back again for the deep tissue massage. Thank you adrienne :)

Of all the places that I have ever gone for a massage, The Healing Arts Day Spa is my favorite. I've tried the chains and the frou-frou places and there is just no comparison. The massage tables are super plush and unbelievably comfortable (more than my own bed!), the ambiance is wonderful, and the skill of the therapists is unmatched. Terrell Lynn is the therapist I have been to the most, but I have never had a bad experience with any of them.

Jennifer Glendy Clausing

My husband, who doesn't get massages often, needed one so I booked him there. I got a massage there 2 years ago and it was pretty good. He saw Tracy (I think) and she was horrible. He wrote that he had issues with his neck and she asked him about his leg. He reiterated that he had pain in his neck and she focused 60% of her time on his LEGS. She even asked during the massage if she was RUBBING OFF HIS TATTOO on his LEG. Ridiculous. He left with the same amount of pain he arrived with. I felt bad that I sent him to such a poor experience.

Very good Swedish massage. Friendly gentleman. Focused on my tense spots. Quick and easy parking. Can almost always give me a same-day appointment. Modest prices, comparatively speaking.

Deirdre Anderson

One of the best massages in a long time. Very professional and experienced staff.

I have frequented Healing Arts Day Spa since 1998. Terrell Lynn has always provided me with a phenomenal massage at the best rate possible. She understands the body in such a way that she knows just the right amount of pressure to use and where. I have always been pleased with the treatments I have received from pregnancy massages to frequent trigger point massages. No matter what shape I am in I can count on Terrell Lynn to help me relax and de-stress. Thank you Terrell for all your years of expertise.

I absolutely love it at this spa. I would recommend it to anyone.

I have been going to the Healing Arts for about 6 or 7 years. You can't be the value and the massage therapists are highly skilled. I have received the best deep tissue, sport and hot rock massages from Brendalynn, Serena, Heavenor and Dolly-- so much better than massages at resorts like the Princess in Scottsdale and even the Camelback Inn which used to be my favorite spa. Terrell Lynn does amazing, hurt-so-good trigger point too! If you need a healing massage the Healing Arts is for you.

I recently called, booked, and had a last minute facial treatment at the Healing Arts Day Spa all within 2 hours. They were awesome returning my phone call and getting me in so last minute. The facial was incredible and included almost a full body massage! The spa is quaint, quiet, and perfectly relaxing and laid back. Just what I needed before a weekend trip that was stressing me out and showing on my face. Love this place and will use them again soon!

I have gone to Healing Arts many times, and have gone to other places just as many times. I have always come back to Healing Arts because not only is the value great, but the masseuses are very attentive. They really seem to enjoy what they do, and always try and give me the style massage, and the pressure and spots that I need. I have told many friends about this place, and all have gone and enjoyed. Keep up the good work.

Margaret Glynn

Excellent deep tissue massage with Terrell. She finds trouble spots and is skilled at working them out. It's the best gift I give or get!

Marla Wagner

I have been going to the Healing Arts Day Spa off and on for a few years. I've tried other massage spas that are closer to where I live but keep coming back. Great prices and great service and one of the few places where a 60 or 90 minute massage is truly 60 or 90 minutes! I hate paying for an hour and then only getting 45 to 50 minutes. Love the emailed daily specials!

Rich Dalton

My wife and I have both gone here on many occasions and they do a great job. Prices are affordable and they give you a full 60 minute massage which most places gyp you out of these days. It is a relaxed, professional environment and I highly recommend them.

April Johnson

Relaxing environment, great value, fantastic service.

Cory Martin

Tara and Alyssa were absolutely amazing!!

The best Trigger Point massage in Arizona!

My wife and I have been going to The Healing Arts Day Spa for an occasional massage since the 90's. We have found their professional staff consistently provide the best massage experience for the money. I was in a very bad motorcycle accident and broke 5 vertebrae, 6 ribs and a scapula. I went to physical therapy for 6 months. My doctors recommend numerous therapists and treatments after that. None of those worked. I was in constant pain and on pain killers. I began having Terrell Lynn provide me with weekly deep tissue therapeutic massages. My pain level has reduced 10 fold, I'm no longer on pain killers and my healing from this accident has been amazing. Terrell has tremendous knowledge of physiology, but what sets her apart from the others is her intuition. She just knows where the problems are and how to make the pain go away. I will go nowhere else.

Janet Fish

I have had wonderful massages at the Healing Arts Day Spa at reasonable prices, but I have also had massages where the therapist has talked through the whole massage. I am there for relaxation and don't enjoy talking during my massage.

N H

If I could give them no stars, I would for sure. Horrible business. No ethics and no flow of operations. Unethical on all levels! Scheduling scrambled, demeanour is awful from the phone to the LMT! Start to finish, the worst experience with massage! Not my first Rodeo having them. I will NEVER return! In response to owners comment! What does "my experience" have to do with my honest review. Nothing fake about me. But your reply shows alot about why I made my review. Jesus Christ has nothing to do with how myself and others have been treated by your business! Take your twisted selves and go pray about that! Fake? Take a long look in the mirror... Enough said!

Monty Petersen

I have been going to the Healing Arts Spa for a few years now. I always request Serena, if she is not working that day I will postpone until she is back. I usually get a 90 minutes deep tissue and she is wonderful at working the heavy kinks out of my shoulders and upper/lower back. Healing Arts has good online deals and seems to be well run. I will continue to give them my business.

Sandrine Gamboa

Not pleased with the service I received. The women I was scheduled with is actually the owners daughter sad to say. She did not make me feel too comfortable at all I was already in a bad mood and I came for relaxation and I did not get what I payed for. I got the Jurlique Organic Facial which was only supposed to be an hour and it ended being an hour and 30 minutes. She put way to much on my face took way too long and she didn't massage me properly she put no effort in and was careless. I left there with oily skin and I was concerned that my skin would look unappealing. Didn't do the proper extractions needed I really wanted to walk out and not pay for my service but they had already took my card info over the phone while making the appointment. Never will I return to such an uncomfortable establishment again.

Great massage

Esther Garcia O'Hare

Amazing FULL 60 minute massage. Tara Kukla was my therapist, & I will request for future appointments. She knew where all of the knots were, & paid extra attention to those areas. I felt so much better after! Their prices are way more reasonable than the better-known places. Different massage options available, as well as facial and combination spa services. Book online, where you can see a calendar to book best days/times for you. No, I'm not a friend, employee or family member writing a fake review. I'm a very happy customer who writes positive reviews when they're deserved.

Deanne Falise

I've been coming to Healing Arts for years and I have never had a bad experience. Today I had a deep tissue massage with Tamara. She was wonderful. I will definitely return.

Eileen Stankey

I found this place on the internet and decided to try it. It is the best place ever for getting a great massage and experience!!! I usually go to Terrell but everyone is great. It is a peaceful place that is very welcoming and I highly recommend it to everyone!! If you are looking for a wonderful massage....go here!! Love, love, love!! The owner Russell is very nice and I have had all my massages on the same day I called. The reviews that are bad are wrong!! They were also written like a year ago and couldn't be more incorrect. When you leave a message for them to call you, they have always called me within ten minutes and Russell is very sweet!

susan murphy

I have been getting massages at The Healing Arts Day Spa for 12 years. I have seen several different therapists, and they all have been excellent! I have had hundereds of massages, and Terrell gives, by far, the best massage I have ever had! If you want an hour or two of escape from this mad world, do yourself a favor and get yourself to the Healing Arts Day Spa!

Jared Mahan

Poor customer service from Russell. I scheduled an appointment through a discount they emailed to me (I'm a repeat customer on their email list), and I provided all the info requested. I then get an email asking me to confirm I will make my scheduled appointment and to confirm my phone number because he said I provided the wrong number (which I don't believe since my phone auto populates that info) but I send it to him again and confirmed I would be there. I then get a random text from a phone number I don't know telling me I need to provide credit card information. I tell him I'll be at the appointment but I'm not providing my credit card information over the phone. If he had asked me to call the office I would have done that. Instead he just tells me he's canceling my appointment. Beware of this guy. In response to Russell's comment, no legitimate business asks for credit card info through some random text. I didn't respond to your email till 6pm because some people actually have work ethic and don't check their personal email while at work. (I wasn't scheduled for my appointment till 6pm the next day) Your negative reviews speak for themselves, you are full of excuses and don't take accountability for your poor business practices.

Extremely disappointed with their reservation system. A week and a half ago I booked an 11:45 - 90 minute massage online. I selected the day and time for my massage, it was to be a birthday gift on my birthday and it was going to be the last chance to have a massage before I went in for heart surgery. I arrived 15 minutes early only to be told that there is no reservation for me. Funny the system worked well enough to get my name phone number and credit card number (which mind you, you put in after you select your appointment. After I told them about the above I got a couple of I'm sorry's and that was it. My wife says the massages are good, I couldn't tell you, but I would certainly not trust their computer system. They said the card wasn't charged, I'll wait for the bill and see for myself. If it can error in making an appointment it might error on making a charge.

The Healing Arts Day Spa is a phenomenal place to indulge oneself in holistic, peaceful, healthful massage therapy. Having been a customer for the past several years, I can attest to professionalism and high quality of service and treatment the spa delivers. The establishment is clean, the energy is peaceful and tranquil, the music is soothing and relaxing. One can expect to receive the best deep tissue, hot stone or any other healthy modalities known to the best in the industry which heal and repair a person's body, energy and soul. The pricing is very affordable and the staff absolutely accommodating to a fault for all their clients. I highly recommend this establishment. 5 ***** stars for Healing Arts day Spa.-Db Schroeder

This place is amazing, if you go to the right person. My favorite go to girl is "Serena." I would highly recommend her, she has been with the company for 6+ years, she knows what she is doing, and targets the areas were you want to feel pain free and relax. Always feel like a whole new, brighter person with every massage session. Very pleased and saitisfied.

Colby Gergen

A++. Went in there with a lot of soreness, stiffness, stress and general exhaustion. 90 minutes later, I felt amazing. Two of my friends that have been seeing Terrell Lynn for a while and referred me there, and I will absolutely be referring Terrell as well. Great massage.

The Healing Arts Day Spa is the most affordable massage in the East Valley! They always have internet specials! Get on their mailing list on their site... once a day emails and it's easy to schedule online. It's always quiet, serene, and relaxing. I'm a repeat customer for 4 years now.

Kassie S

I like that the prices are low. I didn't like that the massage was just a go-through-the-movements type of massage. Very average. When you mark down what body part hurts, they don't spend extra time on it like they should. I went in specifically for my neck and she barely even massaged it. I had a ton of knots still in it.

Alicia Hollingsworth

Serena is great! Whenever I am in Mesa I book an appointment. Serena always makes my muscles feel less tight and helps me with my headaches. I recommend her anytime someone wants a massage when they are in Mesa.

Saw on website that this place was open - came by to purchase a $250 gift certificate for a co-worker who is leaving - multiple people donated money for a gift. Arrived at 10:50am to find it closed with a sign on the door to text and someone would show up immediately. So I did that and peeked in. There was a woman inside who cracked open the door and said I would need to come back at 11:30am since she was headed into an appointment. And my text still hasn't been answered. Will get the gift elsewhere. Wish I could post 0 stars.

Been coming here for years, not a big fan of the scheduling and no receptionist part, but well worth the hassle. Serena is the best and by far my favorite therapist from all the spas i've been to. will continue to recommend everybody i know.

The Healing Arts Day Spa has excellent experienced massage therapist and it has a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Prices are excellent and you definitely get your money's worth!

Update: As you can see Russell the owner has responded to my review. Yes I did have to threaten to call the police because he began harassing me by email when I contacted him about his sickening use of childrens' death to promote his agenda. Please do visit his Facebook page so you can see for yourself. Just don't contact him or he'll start harassing you to. I have gone to the Healing Arts Day Spa for many years. Serena is fantastic. Unfortunately I can no longer go there. The owner Russell has always pushed his education agenda in his emails. If you sign up to email notices you'll also get his education policy opinions. I was fine with that for many year. After all he is the owner. However in this week's email Russell disgustingly used the deaths of the children in Florida to promote his education belief. It is beyond offensive and he should be ashamed of himself. I contacted him to give him the opportunity to comment on his email. Through a series of emails he continued to just push his education agenda. He never had a problem with his use of their deaths and was rude in his responses. I encourage you all to boycott his establishment. I have cut and paste some images from his email below if you would like to see them.

Worst massage experience. I scheduled a 90 Minute Hot Stone massage and asked the massage therapist for a relaxing experience. The stones were not very hot, and even if they were, she barely used them. She lacked variety in technique and her quality of touch was too aggressive. After giving her the benefit of the doubt and communicating with her throughout the massage, I decided to end the session early. I'm not sure if she was inexperienced or just didn't care, but her massage felt like it was hurting my body more than helping. I told her after the session that I was sore (even though I asked for a relaxing massage). I paid for the full session even though I didn't receive a full session. I am a business owner myself and did not want to create a negative experience for another client that was in the waiting area. So I waited to share my experience until the next day. However, I would have shared it right then and there, if I was asked. I emailed the owner and still have not heard anything back to remedy my horrible experience. They really dropped the ball here. I probably would not have given them a public negative review, if they followed up with me in a timely manner, and addressed my concerns. Update: That therapist no longer works for this spa. The owner reached out after my review was posted and offered me a free session. I requested a refund instead. After about a week, the owner was unable to figure out how to give me a refund, so I came in for the free massage. My massage was with Tara, the owner's daughter. She had a great touch and gave a good massage.

Rosanne Addessi

Great massage as usual! I just bought another 3 massage gift certificate! Definently the way to go!

I found this day spa last year through a Groupon deal and I'm so glad I did! The therapists are all very friendly and professional. Every massage I've gotten has been great and you can't beat their prices. The facility is clean and relaxing. I recommend them to everyone I know! Even if you don't live in the area it's worth the drive.

April Pina

Got the owner for a hot stone massage. It was so much more than that! She hit all my trigger spots and took the time to make sure she worked out my knots even if it meant going over my 90 minute massage. Prices are very affordable and they will work with your scheduling. Be sure to try you wont be disappointed.

I had a massage with Chelsea and could barely drag myself off the table when I was done. What a fantastic massage and will be scheduling to see Chelsea for a repeat. You can visit many spas and have a great atmosphere (which they do) but all massages are not created equal!

sarah stevens

When my massage began, the owner was a little sporadic. She seemed all over the place as far as the conversation topics goes. At first she started asking me questions hen wouldn't let me finish answering them before jumping to another conversation topic. Then she brought up her abusive relationship with her father and how he treated her and her siblings when they were younger. She then continued to talk about how he is better now in his old age and how her husband and her take care of him. She then talked to me about her abusive first husband and how she waited two years to divorce him. Then she went back to asking me questions and wouldn't let me finish them. She then made a comment about how she prefers stronger people because they can handle her massages and she doesn't like having to lower her pressure and that she likes challenging her massages on people who can handle them. So it made me nervous to even ask her to ease up on the pressure so I just kept my mouth shut. I am one who prefers a quiet relaxing atmosphere when I get a massage, however, she just kept talking and talking. I felt like it was fast paced and that I cousont even enjoy it most the time. The only reason I gave them a two star instead of one is because the hot stones she used really did help loosen my muscles and brought me relaxation.

Jade Hanson

The massage was great. However, I was denied the introductory price due to not using a special signup page which was not well advertised. When checking out, they claimed they did not have the ability to change the price to the introductory rate which is ridiculous. Secondly, my friend referred me and was told she would receive a discount on her next massage for my visit. Again, because I did not use a special signup page, she was denied a referral discount. Overall, the massage service was great but the company's inability to follow through on its offers due to a signup error tainted my experience.

Absolutely amazing spa!!! I’ve been a client here for years and Terilynn has literally saved my life by helping me work through issues with my pain and anxiety. She is truly magic. It is truly therapeutic for my mind body and soul each and every time I see her. I can’t even begin to explain how many emotional breakthroughs I’ve had with her working on me. She is a master at her craft and she knows exactly where I’m hurting without me even giving any direction. She is extremely intuitive and always has your best interest at heart. I also am on Massage Therapist and have been for the last 16 years. In that time I have received many massages from many different people but once I found her the look was over. Their prices are always affordable and the staff is always positive with great energy. I feel blessed to be one of her clients and to know her. Thank you so much for always taking such good care of me! It means the world to me!! ~Jen

I would have given 5 stars as I have been a customer for over 8 years, referred more people than I can count who also would go on a regular basis as I did, and I would buy gift certificates for various work giveaways or gifts that my company paid for. Guess you could say I really recommended them and loved the therapists I saw still talk to a few of them. My problem now is that I want to schedule a 90 Min deep tissue massage give this company my hard earned money and for the last 3 weekends their online scheduler tells me there are no appointments available for that service?? WHAT!! I know exactly why this is happening - the therapists I saw on a regular basis are no longer there and from what I see there are ONLY 3 therapists one of which is the owner and that limits the amount of people that can schedule in a day. I have never seen that few of therapists on the schedule especially on the weekend and can't understand what they were thinking to take the manpower down so low!! I understand that during the week you have more appointment times that are not booked but, the weekend come on lets find a way to get customers in the door! I used to like that it was a small business in my neighborhood and supported them. There have been bumps in the road with some therapists that gave terrible massages, times that Russell was so unprofessional to people I referred and myself but, once online scheduling was created I no longer had to deal with him and the few times I did he seemed better. Pretty sad when the employees witnessed the way he spoke customers so, It wasn't just me but, the reason I continued to go and refer there was 100% the therapists and usually able to make an appointment. The way this is going I am going to find a spa that I can get an appointment in even if I have to pay more because I need a massage. Also, until they can accommodate customers I will no longer be a customer or refer anyone. I would hate to spend my money on gift certificates and the person is not able to use it since we all know we go on the weekends unless you have a different work schedule! Maybe it's a sign that I find a new reliable place to go especially since all but 1 therapist I liked are gone. Fingers crossed it gets better!!

I am a long time client of this facility (10+ years) Terrell Lynn and her team consisitently offer excellent care and professional services to myself and my family. This is a family owned and operated business, which I choose to consistently support as I have never been dissapointed. I highly recommend their services.

Nicole

I have gone here for years and have always received excellent massages. Tara and Ian both give wonderful deep tissue and hot stone massages. Always a relaxing experience!! Thank you!
