I enjoyed such an amazing day at the spa. I don't spoil myself very often and I sure was spoiled. To make it even better, this say was spent with three friends! From a soft cozy robe, to a relaxing cool room. Then an amazing facial that was one of the best I had. So often my facial is just that "a facial", having my arms, hands, calves and feet massaged soaked in lotion as well was so relaxing. The mineral pool was the perfect temperature, and so relaxing. I even went from the hot tub to the cold plunge and yes, it was so very cold but I'm glad I did it. The staff was amazing! The food was delicious! I look forward to the next time I have the opportunity to do this again!

Our 60 min couples massage was actually 45 mins and it was not worth $400 USD! When we checked-in and I went to the change room, I was told to wait for someone to come give me a tour. I waited 5 mins and no one came. I walked around, found a therapist and asked for slippers and directions. It’s a large spa, and for first timers it’s overwhelming especially when you go during peak hours. Once my fiancé and I got to the massage room and met our therapists, I thought finally! Massage time. 10 mins into the massage I realized my therapist is spending way more time putting hot towels on my feet than massaging. I specifically said please focus on my neck, shoulders and calves. Don’t worry about anything else. At the end I got a full body light massage. Didn’t feel a thing. Half way through I had to tell her PLEASE more pressure....and nothing. Once it was done I checked my phone and it was 45 mins not the 60 mins we paid for. When it was done we got up and went outside to meet our therapists and my therapist was gone already and onto her next appointment. Which I thought was unprofessional. Usually they wait and ask how it was than escort you to the change rooms, etc. Unfortunately, next time I book a Spa in Scottsdale it won’t be Spa Avania. The Spa itself was nice and clean, but service gets a big 0 out of 10.

I am so incredibly in love with this place! My friend and I went to celebrate our 30th birthdays and it was the best life choice we could have possibly made. We had a groupon for a facial and massage and before we even had the services I wanted to move in. Sandra gave us a tour of the place and it is stunning and so peaceful. She also treated us both like princesses and made our birthday the best ever! I had a massage with Stacey - hot stone - which was divine. She was super fun to talk to and has magic hands! Lena did both of our facials and i was ready to propose to the woman about half way through the service. My friend had the Sacred Nature facial which she RAVED about and i had the O2 which i can't say enough amazing things about. Everyone who worked there was so eager to help and answer any questions. They kept everything looking perfect while being totally unobtrusive which i would NEVER be able to accomplish so major props there. My friend and I decided about half way through our experience there that this was going to be our thing now so we shall be back as soon as we can. If any employees who worked August 26, 2018 read this...you are all amazing! Thank you for making turning 30 such a great experience...I can't wait to do it again next year. :-)

Gorgeous spa! From the sauna and a colorful steam room to the outdoor showers, mineral pool and jaccuzzi, you will get a relaxing and serene spa experience in a gorgeous setting. My massage was good but the facilities and ambiance is what really stood out so make sure to spend extra time at the spa to enjoy its great facilities.

I would come back in a heart beat, I just live too far away. My advice, make a day of it when you go and enjoy all of the amenities this place has to offer. Wonderful spa. I've have visited Spa Avania now for 2 years in a row on a business trip and have been impressed. The star is friendly and helpful. The spa itself is beautiful and comfortable. Great outdoor/indoor area. I've had both a facial and a massage and the therapist is gentle and very professional. I would recommend Spa Avania to anyone and hopefully visit is again!!

Nice location for a day of pampering. My massage therapist was amazing - the perfect blend between a Swedish and deep tissue massage. I also enjoyed the outdoor mineral pool (which had plenty of bench seating, jets, and floating chairs) and pool side dining (menu had plenty of light / healthy eating options). I didn't get a chance to utilize the sauna or whirlpool but heard great things from the other guests. I do wish the sanctuary was quieter and less bright - everyone was talking loudly, constantly walking in and out to access the locker room, etc. and had floor to ceiling windows - not exactly a calming environment to get you in the right mindset for a massage. But other than that, I had a nice time and would visit this spa again.

Had the very best 90-minute swedish massage ever! This facility was beautifully appointed and totally relaxing. The setting and appointments are gorgeous, classy and refined. Brandon, my masseur, provided an excellent service. For 18 months, I have suffered sciatic leg pain 24/7. After my treatment with Brandon, I walked out with no pain whatsoever in my legs! He's a miracle worker! Thank you, Brandon! If ever I am back in The Phoenix area, I hope to return to this facility and to the hotel. It feels like you have entered another world ........true tranquility!

This is my hands down FAVORITE spa! Not only is it beautiful and serene - the services and amenities offered here are unlike any other spa I've been to. I came here once when I was 13 and have been dreaming about coming back. Last holiday season, I was able to... and it was even better than I imagined. I had gotten the deep sea algae body wrap, which was one of the most relaxing experiences I've ever enjoyed. I spent another 3 hours post-wrap, using all of the amenities (the mineral pool, the hot and cold plunge pools, and the eucalyptus steam room). I highly recommend this to anyone and everyone!

Favorite Day Spa in Scottsdale!! I have enjoyed Spa Avania 7 or 8 times and never have been disappointed. Such a soothing tranquil retreat in the desert. The spa here was incredible. However, the only reason I’m giving 4 stars and not a full 5 Star is the Spa closes at 6pm and you are expected to be out of the locker room by 6pm promptly. Relaxing after for a short time after a massage, showering and then feeling like I had to get out the door is my only complaint. A spa staff memeber started shutting locker room lights off before I even had a chance to blow dry my hair. They did explain that amenities close at 6pm when I checked in, but I was not aware that included the showers and locker room as well, I felt very rushed to get out the door. Otherwise it was a great experience.

This is a top rate spa. Very comfortable and clean. Staff is beyond accommodating. We enjoyed the couples massage in the Avania suite. I would do it again in a heartbeat. The only caveat is don't trust your GPS and it's not like it's off the beaten path!

Used to be so much better! My wife and I (both Scottsdale locals) have been going to the Spa Avania for many years (10+) Not anymore. You can definitely see that they had cut back...towels cheaper..robes cheaper..maintenance slacking a bit BUT the main concern was the service. My wife and I had massages. Hers was fine. They asked me how mine was and, at my wife's urging, I mentioned I was not pleased. The massage was fair but her communication skills were lacking. So, I would have left it at that but the manager, Jennifer, contacted us for supposedly a followup to my concerns. I attempted a callback and left a voicemail message. No call back. I waited a week and again at the urging of my wife and son, I left another voicemail for Jennifer, yesterday morning. Still no callback. It is too bad, as Spa Avania WAS my wife's favorite spa.

Spa Avania is an awesome experience. I really enjoyed my time here. Everything was set-up so nice and beautiful. Forget going out the country for the R and R this place covers it all. Wonderful Spa, great customer service and the amenities are phenomenal. I was sad to leave this place definitely.

Booked a spa day here as a birthday surprise for my friend. Heard this place had great customer service. Specifically told the girl it was a surprise and depended on my friend’s schedule. Turned out we both had to work the day of the appointment, and I wasn’t able to cancel until after business hours. They claim they called and left a voicemail but I never got one. Instead of being charged a cancellation fee like other five star spas I’ve been to, I was charged almost $1000.00 for a birthday gift I wasn’t even able to give my friend! Now instead of rescheduling, I will take her someplace else and NEVER come to Avania! I spoke with someone on the phone who informed me we were charged the full package including tips and service fees. What BULLCRAP. What terrible customer service! I’ve heard of shady resorts hiding all sorts of fees, but that was below the belt! Cannot express my disgust. Will return my business to the Joya Spa!

Really enjoyed a relaxing spa day with my daughter. We were warmly greeted and promptly escorted to the spa for a brief tour, given our locker, robe and sandals and could relax for a few minutes before our scheduled massages. The relaxation room had an assortment of teas and nibbles. Our massages were excellent- Ron listened to wear I needed work and got my knots out. Afterwards, my daughter and I ordered lunch (the only disappointment was it was a prepackaged box lunch and not great) but it came quickly and we ate it beside the outdoor mineral pool. The mineral pool was delightful. We used the showers which had an array of jets and the Avania branded shampoo/conditioner and soaps which were pleasant. All in all we had a wonderful couple of hours and would definitely recommend and return.

I love this place, I have been to Spa Avania about 5 or 6 times and it never disappointing. The atmosphere is so calming and welcoming. I always feel pampered and well taken care of here. The masseuses are very skilled and talented, they are worth every penny of the price. I highly recommend the 90 hot rock massage, really any 90 massage. I have never tried the salon, but the mineral pool and all other amenities are superb.

I went to the spa with a friend. We found a coupon on Groupon that made the cost of the hour massage half price. They have a salt room, hot tub and a mineral bath. We also had a glass of wine. The facilities were very nice. The only problem was the faucets in the shower, the water on hot and could not adjust it.

I had the pleasure of getting Ron as my masseur. My fiance got us a couples massage and it was fantastic. The facilities are luxurious but Ron was outstanding! Very skilled with the perfect amount of pressure and an intuitive sense for which areas to focus on. I have never had a better massage in my life. I have some spinal injuries and he was perfectly sensitive to them. I WILL be back!

Over all experience was very good. Massage was 5 star. Oils and heated massage table. Choice of music and lighting a welcomed touch. The indoor shower was not cleared of glasses or towels of previous guests and the jets where not working properly. While showering one can easily be seen by passerby. The outdoor shower stalls where a very freeing and Zen experience but could use some sprucing up. The mineral pool - what more needs to be said. Beautiful skies above, warm healing swirls of water caressing tired muscle. The steam room was well maintained and fabulous. Towels were clean and plentiful, robes a bit big and awkward but nice, and beverage well stocked. I would return.

The facility is impeccably maintained. The mineral pool is something everyone should experience. And I love how you can get lunch right by the pool. This is a Spa where you want to come in a couple of hours before your service and stay a couple hours after. If I lived in Scottsdale, this would be a place I'd visit regularly. I will highly recommend Spa Avania to everyone living in and visiting the Scottsdale area.

Our facial/massage was great! The facility is beautiful and the technicians were both awesome...I do love the tranquility of the spa pool, however The menu is super limited, especially for someone with allergies(they pre make the food in boxes, and my husband can’t have anything even cross contaminated) - so I would have liked to be able to go to the other main pool for lunch/drinks.

Gorgeous Hotel. I had a massage set up and it was absolutely amazing. The facility is very tranquil and staff is extremely friendly. They have mineral pools, sauna, and steam room. Women's locker room is very tidy and clean so if you have time I would recommend spending time there and taking advantage of the amenities. I enjoyed it so much I booked a facial the very next morning and was not in the least bit disappointed.

Most of the time everything is wonderful. My favorite massage therapist is Kari. The only negative feedback is that they don’t prewarn you when there is construction happening. The facial on the other hand was what I would consider "poor". She threw the cream on there, rubbed it off, didn't massage my face at all. Was NOT impressed with the her. I could've done a better job myself. NOT worth the money.

Swedish massage was adjusted perfectly to my level of pressure, creating a therapeutic and relaxing experience. My one regret was not allowing more time for myself to enjoy the clean, serene beautiful amenities and environment prior or post treatments. I definitely will next time!

My massage was wonderful. The service at the spa was top notch. I loved the outdoor hot tub and mineral pool. You can also take a shower outdoors near the hot tub! The food was also excellent, best vegetarian wrap and slaw.

My daughter and I each had a pedicure, massage, and facial over the course of three days, and enjoyed all the amenities the spa has to offer. The staff was amazing, accommodating, knowledgeable and generous. We loved the steam room with the chakra color therapy, the mineral pool, and the contrast of the hot and cold plunge. I really totally relaxed. I highly recommend this spa!

Excellent massage - however if you purchase a Groupon - look at the small print. You can only use it Monday-Thursday and only before 5 p.m. plus they will charge you the gratuity of $48 when you book the appointment. I received it as a gift, so was not pleased with the scheduling and it expired in 30 days. The facility was beautiful, however, and my therapist was awesome.

From the minute you walk in, you are greeted with the friendly atmosphere and receptionists. Then given a quick tour of the very clean and nice spa facilities. The gentleman was extremely welcoming. The spa itself was very clean and well maintained. My friend and I both had excellent massages provided by very professional masseuses. If you’re looking for a great spa experience, I’d highly recommend this spa!

This spa experience was absolutely fantastic! The massage was relaxing and comfortable. The steam and sauna were perfect. They delivered a delicious lunch to the relaxation area. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The spa areas were attractive and comfortable. There were tea, cold drinks and snacks available. Unfortunately , it was raining, so I didn't get to use the outdoor areas and pool, which looked beautiful from inside.

Great massages! Pool area is small but really intimate. Great pours of wine, all the way to the brim! Would be nice to see some sweeter options on the list. The only real issue I had was that the pond by the pool smelled really bad at times when there was a breeze. It occasionally made sitting in a pool chair very unpleasant. It would also be nice to see the amount of plastic for food service reduced. Everything was served in take out containers and I couldn't figure out why. Great staff and amenities!

The only thing holding my score back from being 5 stars is the steam room. I have been here before and the steam room is FILLED with a strong eucalyptus smell but that was not the case this time around. I will still always come back but didn’t love that the steam room just smelled like musky warm tap water.

I'm must say my massage was very disappointing. Before starting I was asked what kind of pressure and I said medium/firm. I could barely feel this person massaging me! Also, she actually barely even massaged me in the first place! She used things like hot towels to distract from the fact that for a 60 minute massage, total massage time was about 10 minutes. I kept wondering when the massage was going to start. I said my neck was a pain point for me and she spent about 1 minute on my neck. Spas should be relaxing and the rooms should be warm and dark. My room was really bright and cold! Terrible experience, plus they get an automatic 19% gratuity! Crazy, what a waste of $400!!

My daughters and I are gifted Spa Avania gift certificates for most holidays. We absolutely love this beautiful spa. We were greated with champagne recently. The mineral pool out back with the lily pond next to it. We were even there for the opening of the first lily this year. Jacuzzi outside in a private court yard, the cold plunge pool next to that. A sauna, a steam room, beautiful fireplaces and lounge chairs out near the pool. And the massages and facials are fabulous. But there is so much more. We ate by the fireplace last time it was a memory maker.

I don't know how this place has 5 stars, they have absolutely no understanding of what customer service is. I have been here twice, and I never leave reviews for businesses, but both times the staff has been rude and short. The staff at the Phoenician and Monte Lucia are much nicer and professional.

The ambiance, service, lunch, surroundings are serene and lovely. The only complaint is you arrive 5 minutes early for your appointment in the morning, the doors are locked and the staff inside comes to the door and tells you they don’t open for five minutes. Instead of letting clients in to view potential sales in the front, you have to go back to the Hyatt and browse at their store. Seems to me better customer service would be to invite ya in, offer a bottle or water, explain we really early but welcome to browse the gift shop or sit and wait.

Very relaxing, massage was excellent. Great that you can pay for a massage and continue to use the remainder of the spa's amenities the rest of the day. Would recommend going early or staying late in order to capitalize on all the spa has to offer!
