I love this gym! Best gym in Arizona and in the country. Upscale yet has the community feel

Great club and great amenities. The front desk staff are very nice and welcoming so I'm surprised to see some these negative reviews below.

We have been members since opening 12+ years ago. If you are looking for an economical gym, go elsewhere. This is a country club experience with EVERYTHING you could imagine in one stop. The professional trainers are top notch. Spa is great. providing mountain bikes and helmets ready to use is a neat touch. day care for Kids is well run and terribly convenient. I have some quibbles but not enough to reduce the rating (should open earlier on Saturdays, inconsistent quality and variety from café but this has improved a great deal in the last year).

I love this gym! Great classes and the women’s lounge has an amazing steam room and jacuzzi!

We have been members at Gainey, Camelback and DC Ranch for several years. We have not experienced any issues with Gainey or Camelback; we are cancelling our family membership due to extremely poor member service at DC Ranch. In the span of approximately 8 months, we have had unauthorized charges on our account, rude/inaccurate comments placed on our account and accusatory calls from the child care area, and more. When we inquired about the unauthorized charges on the account, it was fixed within a few weeks, but without any acknowledgement, no apology, nothing. Same thing with the issues from the Child Care area. No acknowledgement, no apology, nothing. When we shared our frustration, again, there was no apology, no acknowledgement. At that point, we decided to cancel our membership. We did so on August 17 and have yet to receive any acknowledgement of our cancellation. Extremely unprofessional. If you are looking to pay hundreds of dollars a month to be treated like just a number, this is the place!

I was a member of the Village for about two years. The gym is nice but they do not cater to a professional working person at all. The latest evening class is 6 pm which unless you have job where you get off at exactly 5 pm it makes it really hard to get to any group exerciese class. Then you find a class that you like and make an effort to get there at 6 pm only to find out that half the time it is a substitute instructor and the class is nothing like the format with the regular instructor --- Ballet Barre taught by someone with no experience so you do basic PE gym exercises for an hour! The primary reason we joined was for the tennis. I played at Camelback for a while but the leagues are riduculous. Half the time your opponent never shows up and then the rating levels are non-exisistent. What would be a 2.5 in other cities is a 4.0. The tournaments were good for a while but then participation really dropped. Probably due to the poor planning -- mulitiple revisions to the draw, etc. The tennis center at DC Ranch is a joke --- no players, well at least not in the evening, once again the lack of attention to working professionals. The tennis pros are not friendly and do not engage with the tennis players. Also the clinics are twice the price of those at the Camelback Club. When this is pointed out the response is that they are competitive and not too expensive. I don't know any one that wants to pay $30 for a drop-in clinic. If people actually went the tennis pro would be making a killing, I guess they are just greedy. I also went to one clinic and saw a couple, definitely not worth what they are charging but maybe my expectations are just high having been to several of the top tennis camps and resorts in the US and receive better instruction for a lower hourly rate! The cafe at DC Ranch has also gone way downhill. They had a really good chef who left and since the food is really meh and adding on top is the bad service of the counterhelp. If you don't work, this may be a good club for you but if you work a normal professional job (8 to 5) not a good club at all.

Best health club I've ever joined. It's actually more resort like than the typical vanilla health club. The facilities are awesome. There are over 100 classes weekly, the restaurant serves good food, the pools and surroundings ding are beautiful, the member events are fun. Plus check out the little clothing store for cute stuff at reasonable prices.

The Village at DC Ranch is one of the nicest gyms in the entire valley! The staff is always accommodating and always helpful! The Health Club and Spa never dissapoint, can't say I've gone to a Health Club and expected restaurant style service at their cafe, the cafe has never disappointed.

Life is really better at the Village!

My friend and I attempted to this gym with her family who are all members. And one of the requirements to come in as a guest is to be 18 so my friends mom said to tell them i was 18, which was not that far off because I was turning 18 in less than a month. So when the man asked my age a said I was 18. Then after he saw that I wasn’t 18 for another few weeks he began yelling saying “you lied, you cannot be here, get out right now” and more phrases filled with what stemmed to be anger. After this I kindly left while my friend and I were in tears. I understand that I should not have lied but I was disgusted to see the employees utter lack of character. For a gym that is so expensive I would never want to pay to be harassed.

Wow I was reading others bad reviews on here and just got the same crappy treatment from front desk. This gym membership is very costly with rude workers. I use to be here which place was great then went to Cross town one now back here to new people here. The environment is gone so down hill very very rude front desk lady. I’m canceling my long time membership here this might be now the worst gym I’ve ever stepped foot in

I was looking for health clubs around the valley to join and was given a week free pass to this club. At first I was very impressed with the facility itself, but then I met the front desk attendants Trudy and Amanda. They were extremely rude to me and talked to me as if I was a child be cause I did not have a scan card to get into the club (keep in mind I wasn't a member). I was embarrassed in front of other members. After that experience I got to talking with other employees and they really didn't have anything good to say about how the club treated their employees. One of the employees said that they has worked there for over a decade and had never gotten a raise once. All in all looks great from the outside!

The Village is much more than a health club it is a community of like minded people that make it a place you want to be!

Good club if you can afford it.
