Very busy, but they do try to take care of your mental health needs, I was involved here, I thought the help here was okay. But that's been a few years ago. I don't know what it's like know. They took good care of me, it's just a little busy at times.

its a bad place and perfect example of why its hard to get well. was just on the phone trying to figure something out. He felt like he gave me the best solution but before I could even let him know of an additional concern he says " ok? I have a call. I have to take that...byyyyyyeee" I just imagine they dont take patients seriously. They just think we're crazy and that call made me feel like he took me for a joke. I can't just hang up on someone at my job. I had one more question!! Theres one good Doctor here.

This place is horrible. Super unprofessional and rude. If you’re going through a lot and are suicidal, they won’t help but definitely get you there faster. A doctor laughed at me and argued mildly for not feeling comfortable talking to her and asking to be rescheduled with someone different. They rescheduled me and the new doctor was fine but I had given her my leave papers to be filled out for my job, due 2 weeks from that day. She said she’d give it to me at my next appointment which she is only there on mondays. That’s fine, the next week comes and she called out sick so they said I’d be seeing a different doctor... My name gets called and who is it? The doctor I had already stated I did not want and that laughed at me. My mom was livid and we’re like no, so we just ask for the papers. No one could locate my papers or contact her for them. I get rescheduled again for the date these papers are due and I called way ahead of time to see if she could just fax the papers over but in order to talk to the next person to ask this I had to cancel my appointment. I explained it depended on if it could get faxed or not because I have to come in if it can’t be sent. Her response was repeating are you canceling your appointment ? 3 more times. So I’m just like ok whatever cancel it. They tell us they’d call us back. We get a call back right before they close saying they can’t do what we’re asking and I probably was suppose to get it today but I didn’t show up. Oh right like how I was suppose to get them the prior week and she called out sick knowing the due date. I wanted to get it faxed so I didn’t have to have yet another horrible experience and sit in a waiting room that smells like piss when my anxiety is already off the charts. Even more so when the person on the other side of the phone is rude and has attitude repeating herself and not acknowledging what you’re explaining. Oh and my leave for my job was denied because of this whole situation and I got fired. Thanks for adding to my issues.

Dr. Joyce Oates, Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health Henderson office is largely responsible for the death of my Domestic Partner of 10 years who died March 16th at only 34 years old because of a very dangerous combination of Psychotropic drugs Dr. Oates continued to prescribe and authorize refills for after several request for routine lab work and physical examination of the patient where made my the family and refused by Dr. Oates and her assisting nurse at 1590 W Sunset Rd, Henderson, NV 89014 . Dr. Oates was totally aware that the patient she was prescribing to had already had a terminal but treatable illness but was also gravely disabled and could not care for himself or even tolerate the medications she continued to prescribe without follow up. If you are a client with Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health it is imperative for you to know that these people do not care about you or are any problems you may going thru. Their concern is to make shure you don't cause any more problems for anyone else to deal with my keeping you heavily medicated with total disregard for your current health status or overall well being. They are not here to deal with your underlying problems. My purpose for this post is to bring awareness to this subject with the intent of executing whatever means neccesary to see that doctors such as Dr. Joyce Oates are required by law to follow thru with routine blood work and a physical examination that is recent for prescribing and refilling such dangerous drugs to the clients they are supposed to be helping not knowingly silencing them with a pharmacuetical death sentance. Yes Dr. Oates told him theese could kill him and expected him to understand ( a special needs mentally handicapped adult) and they certainly did put him to his death. Your treated like a farm animal at any of the windows when you walk in and they don't help with transportation to the facility , they will give you a 24hr bus pass to get you off the property though, also they don't provide a case manager or any real guidance and the place is infested with roaches, They claim that they help with rent /bills /food /housing ect... But I can't seem to get anything except some crazy pills that will probably give me side effects to need more meds for those. I'm going to ask for a booklet to see how they are supposed to help because it's all excuses that the state of Nevada isn't funding them properly.
