While the Library of Congress is one of the most beautiful creations I have experienced, Mt Angel Abbey Library is my favorite. Designed by Alvar Aalto, this building is a work of art to capture daylight without exposing books to the sun. It elegantly fuses angular forms with curvilinear features and every detail has been thoughtfully designed, down to the light fixtures.
