This is my new office! I write professionally and I needed a quiet place to work. It occurred to me to check out this library as it was close to my home. The staff are polite, helpful and friendly. The library is clean, comfortable, organized and stimulating. I was pleasantly surprised to see that there was an art exhibit on display this week. The lecture hall was something else that caught my attention. There is ample space but there could be more electrical receptacles for those of us that bring our own laptops.

Clean, public friendly, family friendly, with informative staff and theres always a security guard there which makes you feel safe. Ofcourse there is a world of book selections and everything you go to look for in a library! It is sectioned off well with the kids and young adults on one side and the adults on the other. In the middle you can check out items yourself and also browse through the brochures or flyers they have of events going on at the library. Great place!

very nice, clean place, with great staff, and a great selection of books. Love all of the extra programs that are available throughout the year. One of the nicer libraries I have been in. Oh, and there are some wild bunnies that hop around the building, which was cute and made my kids happy

I am an instructor and needed some focus time. But not even 30 min into my supposed two hours of study room time, the attendant knocked and told me to get out rather rudly, he just assumed I had been there too long and needed to go. Only after I hurridly packed up all my books, laptop, and papers, an ad wentvto the desk and asked if I didn't understand something did he appolgize, too little too late, not sure if I will ever go back, I have never been treated like that at a libarary before...I got the feeling he just enjoyed the power he had...

For a city famous for its obsession with all things cosmetic, for its complex & overwrought distractions, for its straight-faced worship of style over substance, Las Vegas is surrpsingly blessed with a solid, if somewhat young cultural undercurrent. While it's quite clear that it has yet to grow into full maturrity, the Clark County Library system is a perfect example of the quiet yet sturdy and strong intellectual/cultural life---SOME of us have to live here, after all. The West Charleston branch of the library is much like some of the of the other top notch branches in the city from the Windmill branch all the way to the Rainbow branch (located, oddly enough, on Buffalo). The staff is ever friendly, the book, CD, DVD, audiobook, ebook, etc. selection is quite large and varied, although my only complaint would be a lack of truly literary titles by legendary but somewhat lesser known luminaries like, say, Paul Bowles or Charles Baudelaire or Laurence Sterne, etc. That is truly my only complaint though. There is a large, spacious, clean area for reading and diving into work ona laptop or tablet. Its always quiet. It is, quite simply, everything a library should be.

I visit this library very often since I feel very comfortable using it and find the staff both very friendly and knowledgeable. However two days ago which happens to be 9/11 ( a date most of us will never forget I am sure), my brand new Samsung smartphone was stolen. At first I couldn't figure out how it happened but I was determined to really think try and memorize my exact moves when I last used it since this is the second cell phone that has been stolen from me in a month I need to help me not to have any more thefts. I remember I only moved from the newspaper reading area to the computer I was scheduled to use at 12:20 PM. This is what I recall happened: I was sitting by the table reading the Sunday Review since the male sitting on the other side of the table was reading the Monday Review that I really wanted. I waited patiently since it was a particular article I wanted to read but it seemed he was not about to give it up any time soon. I remember my phone rang and looked at it but of course declined the call. I also remember the male looking over and I now of course realize he was looking at my Samsung phone. At the same time I looked at the big clock ant noticed it' was 12:20 PM and unfortunately hurried to the computer reserved for me. I am not the type that constantly check my phone and it was not until I wanted to try and take a picture of a person I was asked to do on her online photo and I looked in my purse and couldn't find my phone. I looked over where I sat at the newspaper area and on the table although I knew I didn't put it there. I did notice the male that was reading the Monday Review was gone but at first didn't think much of it.I searched my purse once more and began to panic and also searched my "little luggage" I carry around although I never put my phone there so I gave up. It was not until several hours later that I knew that after declining my phone I never took the time to place it in the particular pocket in my purse once I noticed it was time for me to use the computer, it was on my lap and when I got up it simply fell on the floor and while an honest person would have said " you dropped your phone on the floor Ma'am" I sat next to a thief unfortunately. -- I have not seen him again and I am sure I will not because I would recognize him since I remember looking at him more than once while watching to see if he would give up the paper. Hopefully the gentleman that was using computer number 2 I believe, it could have been number 3 but I think it was 2 that day from probably 11AM and on is reading this because I noticed he left his Samsung phone by his computer for at least 10 minutes or more unattended. I was going to give his phone to the person that was in charge of the computer room at the time but then got distracted and forgot. Had the person that must have stolen my phone (he was the only person in the reading area at the time) noticed another Samsung I am sure he would have taken off with yet another Samsung phone. A thief is a thief. On 9/11 I can't believe you would allow yourself to sink that low!!! Shame on you!!! Don't come back here!! No library welcome thieves!!!

What a beautiful library and the staff was so helpful. I explained that I was from out of town and they set me up with a 90 day card and showed me how to self check out and to renew a book online. What was also very helpful was being able to use my laptop with their free wifi. All in all a two thumbs up.
