REVIEWS OF The Richard Nixon Library & Museum IN California

Yorba Linda, California. I always knew this amazing museum/library/archive existed nearby but never bothered to visit. No clue why that is since one of my goals to visit every presidential libraries/museum in America. These presidential centers are like football stadiums... Everytime we get a new one... It's twice as good as the old one. President Nixon was impeached. We don't see that often because it's not easy to accomplish. Look at how much effort a couple democrats main goal at impeaching Pres. Trump has become but people like Feinstein and Pelosi block these efforts... Perhaps two of the most hated Californians want to keep El Presidente around. Either way, President Nixon had accomplished many great items on his agenda such as Civil Rights and blunders like Vietnam and Watergate. The greatest part are the details leading to such difficult decisions that impact the world for generations. All these events are detailed at the museum, granted with a favorable point of view for obvious reasons. Other items are showcased such as his birth home, Marine One helicopter, his tomb, childhood, education, accomplishments, controversies and some failures. All in all... Great place to scope out. Access/Roads: A Paved Parking: A Plenty Distance: A Located in NE Orange County. Appx 50 miles east of greater Los Angeles. Appx 15 miles east of Disneyland Costs: A $20 Yorba Linda sucks. There isn't anything here except the museum. And the food sucks here too.

This was my 4th visited presidential library. Ever since I started this quest I’ve found each one well done. For the presidents that was before my time you only know a little bit from the history books and if you’ve tried you can read more about it. However, this library does an amazing job to focus on the other aspects of Nixon’s life and political career outside of just watergate. I also really enjoyed this library because they have the actual helicopter that is shown in his iconic departure picture. You even get to board it and take pictures. This location allows you to sit at the presidential desk and take pictures too!

ma Munoz

it's better than that Ronald Reagan library. Reagan ruined California as governor and was even worse add president! GTH Reagan family!

India Clamp

Play with the interactive installments in this museum. Onsite is the original house that President Nixon and his family grew up in. Let me know what little "secret" flying thing was by his desk. Now you can enter the Oval Office and sit at President's Nixon’s' Desk This new remodel is fabulous and imparts the visitor an auspicious view---beyond Watergate/China. Did you know in this very office (Oval Office) President Nixon met with Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir, King of Hussein of Jordan and Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau. Visit!

Harley Harding

Had a wonderful time with my family at "The Nixon". My kids reply enjoyed it, especially going through his birth home. Your political views aside, President Nixon holds an important place in American History and everyone has something to learn from a visit to his Library.

Andrew Carlson

Beautiful wedding venue.

Richard Frauenzimmer

This library & museum changed the way I looked at Richard Nixon after seeing what he did during and after he was in office!

Mary Ang

I've been here a couple of times already and I love how well kept the grounds are. It's a great place to host a wedding or meeting. The service is top notch and it's a great place to learn about history. There's a helicopter and rose garden for photo ops!

babak kashkouli

Really like this wonderful place . It's great for all kind of events.

Rick paton

The Library was under renovations when I arrived but the birthplace, helicopter and other attractions were still enough to leave an impression. I can't wait to revisit.

Sarah K

This place is well organized and managed! The staff is warm and welcoming. They are full of knowledge. Very clean and peaceful place to visit and to even relax. There isn’t an actual library, but an archive. I especially liked the outdoor setting with the actual home of Nixon and the gardens. Minus one star, because I realized this place isn’t a smoke free zone. So people who work there even smoke outdoors near the pool area. This was very disappointing cause I brought my child with me and she had to experience secondhand smoke. Other than that I found this place to be a delightful experience. Free parking and lots of parking space. The admission fee is $16 for adults, $6 for children 5 to 11, and free for kids 4 and under.

Arnold Vo

Great place to visit and spend more time to learn more about it here.

Gary Standke

Very impressive. Enough time has passed so the initial white wash of the events has been removed and a more truthful story is not to be seen. Wonderful description of his life to the election and the achievements of his presidency. Very detailed descriptions of his crimes and how he left office. Finally his life after the presidency until his death. It is great to see the house where he spent his childhood and the presidential helicopter. This is a fraction of the size of the Reagan library, but I liked the feel of the information as how it was presented. Fine special exhibit of the Apollo 11 mission. Free parking; no restaurant on site, but many in the area. Great staff for the most part, but it was very hard to understand one of them. We just redid the house tour with another as they constantly rotate their stations throughout the day.

Edwin Quijada

A wonderful library with great American sources and all there is to know about president Richard Nixon. An ideal place to learn, discover and have a close look at information about the Vietnam war also research Nixon’s political and personal history. The little house where President Nixon was born still intact at the original location in Yorba Linda and the best part is that you can get a tour inside the house. It was truly a pleasant experience walking into a one hundred year old house with all of it’s furniture and family pictures hanging on the walls, I highly recommend taking the tour inside the cozy house. The garden is gorgeous, green with colorful roses, bunnies and birds everywhere really beautiful.

Brooks

Beautiful facility inside and out. A journey through the complete timeline of his life, which is quite fascinating. Interactive exhibits, many artifacts and photos, an overall entertaining and educational experience for all ages.

Qiang Wang

It's a beautiful place. I visited there for 4 hours today with my family. You can add my wechat: wyaneq.

Tim Castro

I very much enjoyed this Presidential Library. I appreciated the fact that the Curators attempted to present a balanced view of Richard Nixon, and even devoted an entire gallery to the Watergate scandal. Nixon's birthplace house, and Presidential helicopter are also interesting exhibits. Well worth a visit.

Rudy Ornelas

This was so much fun! The rich history of anything I've seen. Seeing his birthplace the room he was delivered was def once in a lifetime memories. The Oval Office was amazing. Just so many preserved pieces and flawless achievements. Nixon's achievements will always overwhelm his mistakes. It was so cool, see pieces of history.

Kathy Saltzstein

Very well put together museum of President Nixon's life. Learned many things including several departments that he established. Surprising how much history repeats itself as well.

Henry Krueger

Great presentation of a wonderful President. Well done !!

Pamela Palme

Very well done. We really enjoyed our visit. We learned so much about Nixon. It amazed us at how much he accomplished domestic ly as we as his forgien policy accomplishments. History through the eyes of a former president is fasinating.

Mark Boyer

Very interesting. Great presentation of the life of Richard Nixon. Non biased and covers all parts of his presidency.

Dick Nixon

Fantastic site. A MUST SEE for tourists and locals. Never imagined how nice this is.

Hannah Foster

Surprisingly amazing! Really well thought out attention to details, highly interactive exhibits (some with mesmerizing advanced integrative technology), lots to see and explore, and overall classy vibe. Highlights Nixon's life pretty fairly. He did sink to some pretty detrimental lows, but as he said himself, "Only if you have been in the deepest valley, can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain." That pretty much summarizes how the museum portrayed him. They presented a detailed timeline of Nixon's demise and how he went from running an epic first term to the Watergate scandal to his road to recovery and subsequent legacy. Some might have a hard time reconciling the awesome parts with the shady parts, but admission was reasonable and we felt like we got our money's worth with all the informative and tasteful exhibits.

Victoria Stanton

I could spend a couple of days there. So interesting! They had to herd my friends and me out at closing.

cassey matranga

Really informative. Great place to take the family. Illuminating experience.

Bryce Caster

Not quite as nice as the Reagan Library, the Nixon Library still is very informative and gives good insight into perhaps the most controversial president in American history. There are a couple presidential vehicles out back.

PK Trehan

We arranged an Indian marriage ceremony here and loved the facilities, ambience and feeling of being exclusive.

Elena Omelchenko

Amazingly renovated Nixon Library, with interactive displays, numerous screens projecting documentaries, comprehensive timeline of Watergate, touching display of Love Letters between Pat and Richard throughout their 53-years of marriage... I saw visitors watching the historical videos with tears in their eyes...There are exact replicas of White House Oval Cabinet and Ballroom.

Dominick Thedfoerd

Good place to study, it was closed when I went. Think it has to do with the government shut down?

Rusty Carlson

Beautiful gardens, lovely buildings, and a well laid out display of his life. Was not busy during our Saturday AM visit in August.

Robert Barbosa

A great museum that goes well beyond the presidency and includes his birthplace, and walking within Marine One, and a life encompassing view of Nixon, very interesting.

George Wilson

Great place, very interesting. It is truly amazing how multi talented Richard Nixon really was.

Alexa

A compelling, one of a kind museum! Visiting this museum definitely transformed my perspective on Richard Nixon. Regardless of your political views, this museum provides personal and family history. He was more than just a Watergate Scandal. There is an re-creation of the Oval Office to resemble the White House. Outside, there is a garden with absolutely breath-taking view and has Nixon's original house that he grew up in. In addition, there is also an actual Marine helicopter he has used. If history isn't your cup of tea, I do not recommend you to visit as the exhibits revolve a timeline of Richard Nixon. Regardless, you should come with an open mind filled with curiosity!

Bill Jenkins

Had a good visit. Was fortunate to have one of the guides give me a brief run down of what to look for just outside the brief video/movie on Nixon's career. The location of the Nixon library is not the best. The library is located in a suburb with fast food restaurants just down the street. The compound is only 8 acres. It would appear that this site was selected because of the house which was at one time owned by Nixon's father. Nixon was born in the house and spent the first 9 years of his life there. To me to make my visit worthwhile, there has to be something to see here that I can't read about or see elsewhere. Here are some of the things you can see. 1) Nixon's birthplace home. 2) Marine helo used by Nixon when he resigned. 3) Pat Nixon rose garden 4) Reflecting pool 5) Piece of the Berlin Wall. 6) A few gifts to the White House from foreign heads of state. (There aren't many of these) Other than the above, there are few statues and gowns once worn by Pat Nixon but not really too much. This library was a lot less crowded than the Reagan Library and there were no special exhibits on display.

Phil Henton

Great institute for learning and understanding our history. Recommend to all young and old to understand this President.

Paul M

Great service. I love the experience. plenty of parking across the street.

Fabio Terasaka

Loved this presidential library. I spent probably between 4 and 5 hours there reading all the descriptions and listening to the videos. It is interesting to see how Nixon went from the most powerful office in the world to disgrace. He ended up reckoning his mistakes several years after he was impeached, which I think shows some character. I don't admire him at all, but I give credit to those who recognize their mistakes however serious their past actions

alice lindley

Enjoyed a piece history that I have through it.

Joshua Llodrat

Wonderful experience here. Take time to look around and ask lots of questions. The staff is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic which gives off a great vibe. I would definitely come back. Thanks for an awesome visit!

Brian Jurisch

We visited knowing that the main exhibits were closed for renovation. The admission price was discounted due to the closure. What we did see was the birthplace house, marine one helicopter, the pseudo East Room, and the rose garden. It's was worth the stop. The docents were friendly and knowledgeable and seemed to really enjoy being there.

Joe Ippolito

Excellent exhibit that does not shy away from Nixon's failings.

Sandy C.

I have lived by this museum for years. Never thought about going until I was driving by today and spotted a helicopter. Went in and was blown away! Beautiful museum and staff is awesome! I am now a fan of Richard and Pat Nixon. Wonderful experience. Can't wait to go back.

Am S

Excellent experience. We went on President's Day, and the line stretched from the front door, all the way to the helicopter. There was free cherry pie, presidential character actors, a concert by the Air Force Band, and many docents. The parking lot was filled, but there's ample parking across the street. Exhibits were very informative, and great to discover. We will go back on a less busy day.

Jeffrey Rabin

Fascinating. I could have spent 5 - 6 hours or more looking at the exhibits. Very accessable.

Alan Bush

Very interesting insight into that time in American history. I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would.

Ellen Chang

The main exhibit is currently closed, so we were a bit bummed that we couldn't see it. The coolest part of this exhibit is seeing Nixon's home as well as the helicopter that he jetted off with when he resigned from presidency. I was much more impressed with how the Clinton and JFK museums were set up.

Tom Dainko

An even balanced and educational look at his presidency.

Vesselin Malinov

Very well laid out and organized museum and library. Great overall experience.

Lucky Man

Wonderful walk through the history of the 1960's and the tumultuous times of Nixon's presidency. The grounds are extraordinarily beautiful, teeming with the well-watered overgrowth of California flora. Being able to walk through Nixon's Marine One, which he boarded after resigning from office, sent shivers down my spine. A ornate and informative museum and a wonderfully helpful staff. Say what you want about Richard M. Nixon, but his final resting place is a testament to his resolve and as beautiful a place that exists in these United States.

Steven Smith

For me, this is one of the more interesting of the presidential libraries. But then again, for better or worse, Nixon was one of the more interesting presidents. The museum has the normal things that a presidential library museum has, but it was built on the grounds of his birthplace, which is one of the highlights of the compound. However, to me, the most exciting piece on the grounds is he helicopter that was Marine One on the day that Nixon left the White House. While you can't take photos inside, you can take one standing at the top of the stairs flashing the victory sign like he did the final time that he boarded it.

Lacey Willner

Kids love the holiday set up. They watch The Polar Express almost every day and loved seeing it on a big screen at the Nixon Library. The holiday train set up isn't quite as good as it used to be but the kids still liked it.

Tom Crowley

Very nice museum. Most exhibits are closed for renovation. Birth place, helicopter and beautiful grounds are open. Looking forward to coming back in October 2016 for grand re-opening.

Joshua Murphy

Must see. Way better staff and much more honest account of history. I take everyone here.

Don Coleman

I love history and artefacts. This place has a lot of both. Staff is helpfull and knowledgeable. Highly commended.

Delfina Flores

It was great to be there! Love it and I will recommend every body to visit and have fun!

Scott Hoen

Great to have in the neighborhood - looking forward to the new redesign

Chris Hawkins

A great place! Everyone was friendly and helpful. A very respectful place!

Meems P

Love this place. Great place for photos

Megan

The tours of the house and the helacopter take forever while waiting in line. The galleries and everything are hard to take in and understand. It's a bit of a haul... But I recommend going to the Ronald Reagan library in Simi Valley

George Gerard

Joined the celebration of President Nixon's 106 birthday.

Tyler Gribble

Fascinating! My first presidential library. I spent 5 hours here but the time just seemed to fly by. Impressed that they are willing to give Watergate the focus and attention it deserves - I would not have been surprised at all if it had been whitewashed and minimised. Doubly impressed that they mention the possibility that Nixon may have committed treason by sabotaging the '68 Vietnam peace talks - not something that gets much attention. The Oval Office, East Room, and Cabinet Room are all very cool as well. And of course being able to walk through the presidential helicopter and his actual birth home. I can only hope the Reagan Library in Simi Valley is this good (although Reagan himself is a much less interesting human being than Nixon).

Andrew Yrigollen

Pretty cool to know the history and life of a President.

Gregory Hatcher

We had a great time at the Nixon Library and Birthplace. The grounds are beautiful and well taken care of. All of the staff and volunteers are very nice and have tons of historical knowledge about President Nixon and his family. I definitely recommend watching the opening film (approximately 15 minutes) - it gives a great overview of Nixon's life and his entire political career. The video correlates with the overall layout of the library, as well. The library does a great job walking through each year, major event, and/or crisis of the Nixon presidency - and his life leading up to and after his presidency. A few fun thing to do: Visit the home President Nixon's father built and the family lived in for 10 years. The house sits on its original property, and many of the articles inside are originals. Visit the Marine One helicopter. President Nixon took his last flight on this Marine One helicopter following his resignation from office. You can enter the helicopter but cannot take photos. Lastly, purchase a Presidential Library passport in the gift shop and get it stamped. And take it to all of your future presidential library visits!

Doomer 512

I didn’t see a single book even though it’s a library and that’s false advertising

Rude Boy

Since the renovation in 2016, the library museum has been given a fresh makeover and has added many interactive exhibits. It's not as large as the Reagan museum library in Simi Valley; but nonetheless, it is more compelling. Granted, Watergate is what comes to mind when one thinks of the Nixon administration; but the well (and in my humble opinion, balanced) presented exhibits challenges that misconception. The enigma that is Richard Nixon is complicated and the library museum certainly depicts just that. Contrary to the larger Reagan library museum that is overtly skewed to just the loyalist and the converted, the Nixon library museum presents all aspects of his life and political journey. The exhibit on the Watergate debacle is not only astonishing but gives one pause on how fragile a democracy can be. Unfortunately, this is a lesson we have not heeded well.

Jeanne Rose Legarski

Took our family here a year ago. We learned so much about Nixon. The Oval Office, East Room was so nice to see. Hopefully, next time we can check out the rest of the place.

Shelli S

Wonderful place to visit. I specialy enjoyed the walk through of his home and the helicpter.

Adrian Maltbie

Seems expensive for not enough stuff of interest. Also got harassed by the cops for sitting on my car for a couple of minutes talking to my friends about where we wanted to go eat. Great way to treat paying visitors to your museum.

Bridget Delaney

Pretty cool.

Chris A

It’s a very well curated museum. Worth the visit for anyone that appreciates detail and history. The service and docents were quite nice and helpful. Would come and visit once more. So I can look at the exhibitions with more time :)

Ralm Jung

I visited the Nixon Library when it opened in 1990, went to Nixon's funeral in 1994, and recently visited in 2017--there's a wealth of history that should be appreciated. Nixon's birthplace is in the same location as when he was a child and is accessible. Always enjoy my time spent visiting this library

Tiffany James

Went yesterday for the Apollo 11 exhibit. I had my mom and grandmother with me. It was awesome to learn how so much of Southern California had a hand in making this mission possible. I especially loved the fact that my mom kept finding things behind the glass, that they had owned at that time, even down to a little green ashtray that belonged to my grandma! My grandmother has dementia. She may not remember what happened 10 minutes ago, but if it was years ago; she'll remember. This whole exhibit put a huge smile on her face, and that made me happy as well. Thank you so much, I'll definitely return.

Curt Carson

I've been there three times. Very well laid out. You won't be disappointed. As far as Presidential Library and Museums, it ranks near the top.

Robert McMillan

Out of all the nixon-related tourist attractions I've visited, this one takes the cake!! Great preserved presidential birthplace (strange smell?) and helicopter! Perfect nourishment for my inner Republican.

Ronald Ramirez

Easy to find great location. The neighborhood is good. The service was okay and friendly. Neat and clean. Great place to visit. The price was okay not the greatest. Not too busy there.

SS S

Best day of summer

Al To

Good open and well preserved space of the president's past.

Marcia Morris

Wonderful staff. Very interesting to see

Joe Khoury

Beautiful venue. Garden is really nice as you can see in the pics. I was the dj for a wedding here. The banquet hall does echo a bit. The annoying part was the security guards have to be by each door, so they make it a bit hard to load if they get busy. Overall, the staff was pretty cool and friendly.

Emmy Corman

Really top notch. Great exhibits and really great artifacts. It’s 10,000,000 times better than Reagan’s library.

Carlito Nati

Wonderful museum with plenty of history that defined Ex-Pres Richard Nixon's administration. Museum's exhibits are really well organized, neat and very educational. Personally, my favorite part of the museum is the timeline of the Watergate scandal and the downfall of Nixon as US President. The museum, outdoor garden and Nixon's birthplace house sits on a 9 acre land. Admission is relatively affordable. Parking lot is huge. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. A must see museum for families and every American who want to get to know Richard Nixon as a president, as a man and a husband.

Madrona Beach

Top notch archive. The museum is a contested space: Its Watergate exhibit is curated by the National Archives, while the rest of the exhibits are curated by the Nixon Foundation. The Watergate exhibit is more about presenting what happened, while the rest of the museum is about making Nixon appear to be a great statesman. The grounds are small and attractive and can be rented out to various people, but the spectacle of people get married at the birthplace and resting ground of a disgraced President just adds to the weirdness of the place.

Iván D

Unfortunately because of the Trump Admin Shutdown, 50% of this place is closed. I will have to return on a later date. I still got to see some of the sights like the helicopter but it was closed. The guides still offered tours of his home. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The fountain and flower gardens are still open for viewing. Overall, a very great place to visit to learn the history of Nixon and the USA.

George Cornell

Great place to see and live history

FCR NP

Although not as grand as the other presidential libraries it is nevertheless the most interesting. They have expanded the place and included information about the Watergate scandal. The museum also gave a proper tribute and honor to Sen. John McCain. That is very nice of them. I'd really like to go back here again.

Greg Roderick

Of all of the Presidenial libraries I've been to, they tend to promote the positives and down play the negitives, and this library is no different. That being said, I found it an interesting place. With his childhood home on the premises, it gave perspective on President Nixon's upbringing. The general setting is not too much over the top for the most part. It's location is isolated from much of the comotion surrounding it, and the library didn't feel like a farce, which is something that can easily happen.

40rty

Great history for the whole family!

Dorothy Baran

Excellent snapshot of history. Grounds and building are beautiful and well maintained. Nice way to spend a couple of hours.

tom davis

I enjoyed The Richard Nixon Library and Museum very much. I was 9 years old when he took office, so at that time I didn’t remember very much of what he did. The museum is very informative and it guides though the Johnson Presidency and the direction of the country at that time and all the way through to Nixon's departure. The house that President Nixon was born in is on the property and so is the Presidential Helicopter.

Barbara Kennedy

My husband and I were invited to a wedding reception at The Richard Nixon Presidential Library. I was so excited, having grown up close by in Hacienda Heights, but now living in south-west Riverside County. Unfortunately the museum was closed that late at night, but the whole event was fabulous! The grounds are lovely. The burial site of Pres. and Mrs. Nixon is very reverent. The childhood home of President Nixon is adorable, and the reflecting pool is beautiful. The room we had the reception in, I was told, was built to replicate one of the ballrooms in the White House. It was gorgeous! So elegant and stately. A very lovely place indeed.

Sarah Bullock

Surprisingly balanced exhibits on Nixon's contribution to history. Watergate andChina sections fascinating. Library is nice but my favorite part was the kit house he grew up in, restored and on the property.

Miriam Zaga

Love to educated myselve We been almost all of the P. Libraries and everyone so different and the history this one the first men on the moon I saw that when I was 9yrs WOW memories is interest young people will learn about history

Blake Nishimoto

I've lived within 2 miles of the Richard Nixon library for over 20 years and had never been. What a mistake. I loved the museum and library. The museum told a wonderful human story of Nixon, not shying too far away from some his scandals. The interactive exhibits and beautifully orchestrated story made for a great afternoon. They put in over $50M worth of upgrades within the last year, which I've heard completely changed the experience of the museum and library. I highly suggest going if you're a local like me, and even if you're not. It's a perfect place to see history first hand.

Kevin Lisenbery

A very informative tour. I left feeling that President Nixon led a complicated yet remarkable life. Seeing his childhood home made me proud knowing that any American, regardless of their backgrounds, can rise to the highest office on earth.

Erik Juliaan van der Gaag

More modest than the Reagan library and museum, but it's very to the point. Everything you see, hear or experience is relevant. Many times I was challenged to think for myself about choices that were made. The birthplace is super cute and the Oval office very cool since you can really step inside. The Watergate part is what amazed me the most. All evidence, be it documents, interviews, is presented neutrally and you can draw your conclusions yourself. Well done

Matt Jew

Terrific Apollo 11 exhibit sponsored by AT&T.

Anthony Perez

Expansive and interesting archive. Yes, the whole crook thing, but let's not forget that this is still a really interesting place. I highly recommend visiting it just for the historical knowledge.

Terence Mason

We came with little expectation, thinking that this library/ museum would extoll his accomplishments and gloss over Watergate. We left with a new opinion of his presidency. President Nixon was born in Yorba Linda and one can visit his humble home located on the grounds. A docent gave us a very informative narrative of his young life and background. The exhibits showed many artifacts from his life and his presidency which highlighted the ending of US involvement of the Vietnam War, re-opening of talks with China and of course Watergate. There is a replica of the Oval Office and the Marine One helicopter. Both President and Mrs. Nixon are buried on the grounds in a beautiful garden.

Stewart Smith

This was my 1st Presidential Library visit and won't be my last. Everyone was so friendly, informative and dedicated from the moment we walked in the door. He was the only President I've ever seen in person. 1968 Ontario International Airport. I was 7 years old when my Mom took me out their. I remember him standing in that doorway of that jet and the crowds of people chanting " Nixon now more then ever, Nixon now" I felt like I was reliving an episode of the Wonder Years in that place. Really not enough time in the day to soak it all in. Really wanted a t shirt but medium seemed to be the biggest size they had. A tour of the presidential helicopter, his parent's house and gardens were spectacular. Full of history around every corner. God Bless America and thanks to all who keep this place running.

Soraya Jaramillo

I am always looking for places to take my guests. This is a not to be missed. You get to walk the Oval Office and sure take great photos. I been there many times and more to come.

Christine Tinsley

The Library and Birthplace of RN is a gem. The designers have done an excellent job of encompassing the politics and events of a generation that remain relevant today. A definite must see. I am proud to have been a part of the team that developed the field trip curriculum. The team is invested in bringing a meaningful and standards driven experience to students.

Yosef Amzalag

This library and the ground around it is a great long weekend visit and worth visiting. I love the display and each of the rooms the library present. president Nixon had a great life in politics. He was a great president and nice president. He was the 37th president of the United States of America. I recommend all the go and whach it.

KW Hamilton

Was there September 2016 when the renovations were underway. The staff were very knowledgeable and courteous. The video that was playing in the auditorium was informative, yet biased. I’m not surprised, I just didn’t think the “omissions” would have been quite so obvious. The grounds are kept beautifully, and I enjoyed a walk through R.M Nixon’s childhood house.

Igor Resch

Absolutely worth every minute! Beautifully done, including the original house where President Nixon was born, with the grave of him and his wife Pat next to it. Everybody who even has only a small interest in history should visit this place!

Night.Owl.Society

I personally love this place I went there with my class on a field trip last month and took some amazing pictures, if y'all ever get a chance to vist please do so I assure you that you will not regret it.

Jasmin Famor

The layout of the place is chronologically designed. The presentation is very informative.

Laila Romero

I went on presidents day so the events were better I'm sure than on a normal day but still a beautiful place, lots of history in the sight itself besides all the normal museum type of exhibit The actual home Nixon was born in and the burial sight are on the property that's pretty cool!

Michael Collins-Frias

All appears well Expect 50 or so of family attending. Karisa Trejo & Brandon Gomez Wedding Bells

Eric Einstein

A nice shrine to Nixon with a good balance of watergate, to boot.

Robert P

Historic collection including oval office and including birth home of Richard nixon.

HongLing Song

Nixon president is the brave and kind peacemaker. Thank you. My life got changed after because of him opened the door of China. Then I found out it was so smart way that he needed this open door of China opportunity to end the Vietnam war. The First Lady Pat use all of her true love to Chinese children, say hi for American children. What a peace bridge couple! Great example of life journey! Of course, no human beings are perfect without mistakes in this planet. So I feel he is the brave man to resign his presidency to stand out for the mistakes.

Lara Kenhist

We had such a great time here at the Nixon library. I would definitely recommend that you come and visit. The woman who greeted us as we entered was very helpful and provided us with a lot of information

Thomas Chee

Israel's Golda Meir to Egypt's Anwar Sadat's, opening the bridge to China with Chairman Mao, Henry Kissinger, and the original letters, documents, classified CIA documents that turned the wars upside down. I was surprised to see the exhibit with Winston Churchill and Charles De Gaulle. The unexpected surprises were enthusiastic to embrace, because there is only so much taken from the life of Richard Nixon. Sadly, most of the books focus on his crimes, films highlight his scandals; Whereas this library opens us, the audience of walkers throughout the building, to so much more about what Nixon faced in his life. But more importantly, Richard Nixon's tiny, little house with his mother taking care of five children. Not only did I learn a lot, but by studying the way Richard Nixon grew, how he became a public servant, what he learned from his mother, I really came away with a great understanding, a profound understanding, of the kind of leader Richard Nixon was away from Watergate. Watergate is a dark shadow, small in size is the shadow compared to the shining light of what Richard Nixon faced in his life, especially in foreign affairs, world government, decision making, all from that small, tiny, little house with no air conditioning, seldom heat, in the center of Yorba Linda. Richard Nixon was quite extraordinary. I do have to share one observation; Henry Kissinger; There was little to no mention of Henry Kissinger until I studied the exhibit in the Chinese area dedicated to Richard Nixon and Henry Kissinger's meeting with China's Chairman Mao. I am a big fan of Kissinger's foreign diplomacy, even the fiction novels from Harvard in the book Class by Erich Segal. Erich is the famous author notably for his book, Love Story. Erich Segal also wrote a fictional account of Henry Kissinger for when Kissinger taught at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where I visited once a year. As a young student, Nixon and Kissinger always walked hand in hand throughout the chapters of history, but the relationship was rarely, if ever, mentioned inside Richard Nixon's museum. Why is that? I thought I would learn as much about Henry Kissinger as the President he served as Secretary of State inside. My father used to tell me that if Kissinger had been born in American, he would have become himself President of the United States. Yes, I grew up with my father telling many stories of Kissinger, Nixon, Mao, Vietnam. He was a prisoner of war in the Korean War before Bell Helicopter put him in Texas Christian University where he studied to earn his MBA International Business. His favorite book, the book that was always beside my father's place on the sofa was Bob Woodward's boo, All the President's Men. I grew up on stories about the Watergate investigative reporting as well as The Cold War, Cuban Missile Crisis, Mao, CIA, and continue to read every book printed by Bob Woodward. The irony is that the famous FBI agent who brought down Nixon named Mark Felt - My Friend aka M.F. in Bob Woodward's All the President's Men book, well, Mark Felt retired where I studied from elementary school to high school in Sonoma Wine Country. I don't believe my father knew Mark Felt lived in town. FBI directors responsible for bringing shame upon the White House probably keep quiet for a reason. Santa Rosa is small. Still FBI's Mark Felt hid in plan sight. Talk about sight, there was a gorgeous girl getting married at the Nixon Library when I was inside. I had to imagine that Richard and Pat Nixon would have enjoyed loving couples committing to marriage at a wedding in the Presidential rose garden. The couple added to the impressive enthusiasm of the entire day surrounding a history lesson about the President and his adventures through life.

A great history learning experience.

My wife and I visited the library/museum today and we felt that it was a great library/museum. There was just one problem, the air-conditioning temperature was set so cold that we were thoroughly chilled by the time we left the facility. I am not sure exactly why they had it set to be so cold but it was almost unbearable. We have been in many other temperature controlled museums and they did not have the temperature set to be so cold...Please warm it up a few degrees so us folks from the desert of Arizona can enjoy it more and not have to shiver all the way through the museum. It was a very education facility and very well done. A couple of things we did notice was the putting of green print on a green background made it difficult to read. Also, having print directly under glass was also very difficult to read. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. After all, we spent nearly four and a half hours perusing all of the material that was on display. On the down side though, it was unfortunate that the helicopter was not open for viewing today as they were short one docent and did not have enough staff to handle opening of the helicopter. Very disappointing. Overall a very good museum.

I love history and Presidential Libraries are a great way to get an in-depth lesson in an afternoon. The library does not skirt over Watergate. The facts are presented without attempting to defend or interpret them in Nixon's defence or to make him look better. Some Whitehouse tapes are there and the system is explained. The Library is on the grounds where house where Nixon was born in was built. The house is intact and in its original placement where Nixon's father built it. This is such a rare and treasured part of history. Plan to spend 3-4 hours to see everything. If you are a slow reader, plan on 5 hours. Prices are higher starting late November through the Holidays.

Museum of the 37th American President Richard Nixon. One of the best place to learn about once a great president with various qualities of good leader as well as various accomplishments in tumultuous time yet fallen from grace due to his own greatest weakness. 37대 미 대통령 리처드 닉슨 박물관. 매우 교육적임.

Richard Nixon was a complicated man and president. He accomplished a great many things, but is really only remembered for a small scandal that was blown way out of proportion. This museum shows the man behind the slander. The man who did what he thought was best for the US. after coming here I have a new appreciation for President Nixon. It is worth coming here to see the real man and not the villian so many political opponents paint him as.

Nicholas Ward

Interesting that this was the only place in the whole United States that would even have Richard Nixon's library (his own birthplace). It is a fine exhibit that is ongoingly uncovering and presenting the infamous Nixon tapes. The grounds are beautiful. It is a good stop if you want to review some history and get some tangible hands-on experience with some of the historical items presented. Altogether a good stop for tourists.

I did enjoy the brand-new exhibits featured at the Richard Nixon Library! I did also enjoy the state-of-the-art viewing room featuring footage of Nixon as president. I would highly recommend visiting The Richard Nixon Library & Museum for a truly interactive, history-filled experience!

Wonderful walk back in time to the president of my childhood Richard M Nixon 37th president of our country a Republican of humble orgins who created our relationship with China, took the United States off the gold standard, initiated the environmental protection agency's many social policies that would be welcomed by today's political crowd. I enjoyed the videos, images, timeline of Nixon's rise in American politics to his most triumphant achievements. Great place for US history fans, politics and leadership. A portrait of American society from the cold war 50s to the turbulent 70s

Wonderful place to visit. Lots of historical informations. Very good description of the amazing life and principles of this great President Richard Nixon.

Brian Christ

A clean, up-to-date, and surprisingly modern look at Nixon's presidency. The museum gives an overview of the man and his presidency that is just as biased as you'd expect from a hometown museum built by his family and supporters before it was part of the National Archives system. But, surprisingly, the Watergate portion of the museum was remarkable straightforward and presented all facts -- good, bad and ugly -- in surprising detail with astonishing clarity. Outside of the museum, you can view Richard and Pat's graves, the house where Richard grew up, and the helicopter (Army One, later Marine One) that he used as President and from which he gave his famous farewell salute. If you're a Presidential history buff, this place is worth a visit. Note - parking is free, museum entry is $16 for adults.

Learned allot about him. Most people only know about Watergate and not everything amazing he did for this country.

Recently refurbished and remodeled, my third POTUS library. Very neat did not know he traveled to China and USSR being the Regan Library portrays Ron as the world traveler yet Dick went to these communist countries!!! Plus you have the house he was born and learn about how he lost and lost yet never stopped until the tapes. Also he is the true native son of California as Ron was born in Illinois. Dick's wife had the Oval Office carpet ocean blue with the drapes being the golden color for the famous hills of our state. His brother, one of 5, is still alive and in his 80s and visits the grounds often.

Gregory Torres

Amazing museum, and plenty of neat exhibits. Presents the Nixon presidencies and lifetime in a very different light than they most often are. The birthplace is also great to see. So is Nixon's helicopter. Too bad they aren't open longer. Get there early to be able to see everything inside. super-informative. I think everybody should visit this museum.

Matt H

Very nice Museum, love seeing Presidents childhood home, Helicopter and Mr. And Mrs. Nixon's Graves, paid my respects

Nixon Library ended up being the very first venue that we toured and I immediately fell in love. The ballroom with the chandeliers are absolutely stunning, the garden with the immaculately cut grass and bright cheerful flowers were gorgeous. I knew right away that this is where we needed to get married. Once we officially signed with them - everything was such a breeze. Between Jenny and Jackie, no detail was overlooked. They answered my 15 million emails with questions in a quick and timely manner, and for that I will be forever grateful. Thank you both for helping us plan the wedding of our dreams! I highly recommend this venue - not only for it’s beauty, but for the staff as well. Thank you again for being apart of our day!

When I hear Richard Nixon, I often jump to Watergate, something I knew little about. But there’s so much more to his political endeavors. He desegregated schools in the south, signed Title IX, created a comprehensive foreign policy, increased the hiring of Hispanics and women in the Executive branch, started OSHA, opened communication and relations with China after decades of silence, and so much more. Yes, watergate was a scandal that goes much deeper than wiretapping a hotel, but his legacy goes even further. “To say that Nixon was the most complicated personality to occupy the Oval Office is barely to touch the surface” -Walter Cronkite, CBS anchor and celebrated reporter

Went their after their closure for renovations. Just great. So informative. I went with the group and we had guide. Too bad 2 hours just simply not enough. They have old style TVs all over playing news from Watergate era.Mrs. Nixon clothes and just beyond words jewelry - huge diamonds and emeralds and other precious stone on display! The size of necklaces unbelievable, was gifted by Saudi Arabian king. They have original house where Mr. Nixon was born! With many original furniture, and helicopter - the one he flew out of White House! So cool. Next time planning to spend whole day. Also several years ago they had free concerts for local community. I don't know if they will continue that.

Zaida Hargrove

This is a great thing to do for the young and old. The Richard Nixon Presidential Library was designed very well. It was detailed and extremely interesting. I wasn't sure how they would approach the Watergate events but they didn't gloss over anything.

Stephen Katz

Fantastic! Their remodel is much needed addition and couldn't have been done any better. Must see if you're in So.cal!

Pamela Rachael Wagner

Absolutely stunning. I have visited many, many museums and libraries and presidential monuments, and the Nixon museum and library truly stands out. Such a well curated, immersive, interactive, informative and beautifully designed collection. Whether you are a fan of Nixon or not, this place is a must-see in SoCal...a real treasure and a wonderful experience.

Good party hall. Well maintained.

Great historical information. Beautiful and helpful visuals. I would like to return with some members of my family. One gets a good feeling of the white house.

The Nixon Library has many interactive components that bring history to life. The grounds are beautiful. The historical home brings to life his humble beginning.

Joseph Weidner

Really well done. Does an equally excellent job explaining the Watergate situation as well as his many accomplishments. Great place to reflect on Vietnam and other changes going on at that time

Love all that history

Tracy Judy

This is a very informative place to visit. The presentations are done in a way that shows both the positives and negatives from the entire life of President Nixon. I think the overhaul exhibit is well-balanced. Amazingly, it is his actual childhood home, which is wonderful to walk through.

Beth Torrez

Wonderfully displayed and informative. A real eye opener. Loved it ♡♡

This was on our "bucket list" of things to do in the Los Angeles area. The museum is actually situated within a residential neighborhood, which is actually his birthplace and where he was laid to rest. Upon our arrival, the former presidents helicopter, "Marine One" is on display at one end of the parking lot. We we're told it was on loan from another museum. This is the actual helicopter that was used to fly four of our presidents; Nixon, Ford, Johnson, and Kennedy. The cabin itself was cramped but was equipped with a presidential toilet! Upon entering the library is a huge picture of the former president with the "Presidential Seal" in front of Nixon's portrait. Of course there is nominal fee for access into this historical museum. The place doesn't really have an "actual library of books" but is told in murals and other static display, which is well presented. From actual calls between Nixon and our astronauts to letters written to the former first lady is on display. There is also a short movie of Nixon's early life and his rise to the highest office in the land. The rose garden is beautifully decorated with the hundreds of roses and the final resting place of the former president and first lady. We paid our respects and continued our tour. We took a guided tour of Nixon's original 990 square foot home where he was raised with his "four brother's" and about some of his hardship to his rise to the presidency. We we're told that Ohio Govenor, John Richard Kasich was arriving in town to pay a visit. Overall the price of admission was well worth the tour.

This museum is one of the finest I’ve ever been in, and I would expect nothing less for such a great historical figure and once President of our nation. Even if you’re not a fan of Nixon, for whatever reason, there are plenty of cool exhibits that are unrelated to him. The Oval Office experience was fantastic, especially with the picture of earth right next to his desk.. so cool

Ethan G

Such an interesting and compelling museum. One of my favorite presidential museums.

john bender

Great place, the staff clearly care. The docents know their stuff. All considered, a great local outing and a superior look at a turbulent time in history.

N Lozano

Great place to learn more about Richard Nixon. One of the only Presidential librarys that also has the gravesite and birth site all in one historical location.

Albert Burns

A beautiful museum that manages to highlight a controversial President's whole life; not just the moment and decisions that cost him dearly.

Jordan Charter

The Richard Nixon Library & Museum is one of my very favorite spots in California. This is *the* shining example of museum curating. The exhibits are beautifully done, interactive, and packed full of information and the staff is friendly and informative. I've taken friends here who didn't know what to expect and they left feeling much the same way I do. Regardless of your view of President Nixon I cannot recommend this place enough. It's very, very special.

renee ang

A place of concise yet not overwhelming information. You also get to see the house Nixon was born in & where he's laid to rest.

Bryant Waldron

It was an historic day at present Nixon's birthplace. Much worth the visit.

Kathryn Magee

I feel I know much more about the great things Nixon did in addition to the bad. A beautiful treasure!
