Absolutely loved this place! Very well put together, lovely walk way, wide variety of animals. About 60% of the animals you can feed by hand, love the interaction with the critters. Great gift shop, small cafe (open seasonally) golf cart rentals are affordable and fun. This place is worth visiting!

The Shalom Wildlife Zoo is an amazing place set in the countryside, it is a great local community amenity and alternative to large corporate-owned parks. The staff is very friendly, there is a large variety of animals to enjoy, it is a very well kept and safe Park and offers golf carts for rent if you would like to drive those instead of walk the trail. I chose to get steps in for the day :) They have some very cute gifts in the gift shop, I bought my kids each a stuffed animal and snack, they even have hand-scooped ice cream which is a fun thing to have after a hot day, the wife and I both had after dinner mint in a waffle cone, it was very good.

Coolest little zoo ever! Enjoyed the relaxed pace lots of little picnic and play areas. They have buckets of feed for sale and my 4 year old loved feeding all the animals and getting up close and personal, even with a little zebra! Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable! Shalom Wildlife Zoo has really come on the scene in the last few years. You can rent golf carts. It is a 3-4 mile tour of habitats and animals. The ticket office sells ice cream, t shirts, antlers. It was very busy when we went but everything went smoothly. Animals were all out and about. Very relaxing and a great place for kids. They have learning centers, play grounds, picnic tables and rest rooms scattered throughout the park. If you want exercise the walk is great or if you are elderly or disabled you can rent a golf cart. There is much to see, and every year they expand and add more to the experience.

Lots of animals to see and feed. One of the best in the area. Good idea to purchase a feed bucket. One bucket should last all stay. Golf cart rental is a good idea for the elderly or small children with no strollers, but felt hurried since there is a rental time limit. Better off walking if you want to take your time at all the stops along the way. Bring a comfortable backpack with snacks and drinks for tables in the trail. Otherwise pack a lunch and leave it in your vehicle to eat it on the way out or at lunch time.

Always heard great things, finally checked it out and loved it! Can't wait to visit again in the summer. Fun drive thru, unique animals (so many albino deer!) Feeding/petting zoo at the end was a highlight for the kids and mom and dad. Warmed up with free hot chocolate to finish. Full grill for those who want to eat there as well. Highly recommended for families!

This was a fun place to come with a family! We really enjoyed getting to see all the animals in a more natural habitat that a regular zoo. It's a good mix of sunny and shady on the trail- and I would say golf cart rental is a must if you are on a schedule

Fun place, but watch out....a little girl was bit from one of the zebras. So stick with the deer and goats. They ran out of alot of food at the grill, and I understand they need money to keep up with the place, but it was pricey eating there. Out of everything, it was a fun day.

Incredibly spacious, well maintained, hidden gem of a facility. Prices are reasonable, animals are all active and happy, and you can see the care that is put into what they do. Pro tip, rent a golf cart or bring a wagon if you have littles it's about 4 miles of gravel trails and one big loop so once you're on your way there are no "quick routes out".

This place is awesome! They have so many cool animals to see, and it's really rustic and off the beaten path. The animals are well cared for, they have plenty of space to roam, unlike the Milwaukee zoo. Nothing against the Milwaukee zoo, but this place is a different ball game. My wife and I went there in the summer once and drove a golf cart through the zoo. We came back after a while, and the owner asked if we had somewhere to be. We said no and she said we went through too quick and we should go back out and take our time. She gave us tips for where to see certain animals, and how to get them to come closer to the fence so we could see them better. They also have a Christmas drive through with all sorts of decorations and lights. You drive through in your car and they have food near the path to keep the animals in sight. I thought the wolves and bears were the coolest to see. They also have some albino deer that were really cool. If you're in the area, check it out. You won't be disappointed!

I love making the hour trip to come out here! It is so much more relaxing and beautiful, than the city zoo. Obviously, there are less animals, but just enough to keep little ones and adults satisfied. You can rent golf carts, they have a grill n ice cream, and a gift shop. Definitely worth checking out!

This is such an amazing zoo. Coming from a military family that has been to their fair share of zoos (including San Diego Zoo), this has been my absolute favorite zoo I've ever visited. First off, you can hand feed 75% of the animals in the zoo, which is unheard of. Secondly, all the large animal enclosures are super close. Third and most importantly, they do not sedate their animals, meaning you get to see them move around naturally. It is amazing, and it is a must-see if you are traveling through Wisconsin.

It seems like it's almost a secret that this place exists, but it is an absolutely must do family trip. You have a choice to ride around in golf carts ($20 for two hours) or to walk the few miles of trails to see all the animals. Really enjoyed tbe visit. They have beautiful selection of animals that you can get pretty close to, and feed most of them. Great for both adults and children.

Great zoo! So fun for kids and adults! It's a big place, I highly recommend renting a golf cart. We were able to see everything twice in 2 hours with a golf cart. Then we walked to the area with goats, donkeys and alpacas. The brown bear were so fun to watch playing in the water. Grizzly grill has delicious food and snacks.

I think this is one of the neatest attractions in southeastern Wisconsin. You can feed the goats, donkeys, llamas, deer and birds through the cage in the petting zoo portion. There are many more animals throughout the park... It's a lot of acreage, heavily wooded, peaceful and pretty. Often you are the only one by an exhibit. It's about 2 miles through the park. In winter it's drive through only with holiday decorations and in summer you can walk or rent a golf cart (the most fun in my opinion) . The animals have lots of room to roam, are well loved and the staff is great!

There was a lot of love put into this place and I can almost guarantee u will love it as much as I did. They really took the extra step to bring to life the history of the region. This was an EXCELLENT place to go with my parents for the afternoon. We rented the golf cart & toured the Zoo at our leisure. Then we ate a very good lunch at their 'Grizzly Grill'. So glad we went.

2.5 stars for AVERAGE! Not much to see beyond a lot of deer and things that are common. Several of the animals live in enclosures that are FAR too small, notably the foxes, coyotes, badger, raccoons, porcupine, skunk, ground hog, lemurs...everything, really, but at least the larger animals have somewhat respectable enclosures. The best part was letting my daughter drive the golf cart. She enjoyed that. Also, poor food management. It was only 12:30 and they were already out of french fries, sweet potato tots, and cheese curds. The burger meat had an odd smell and taste, they stacked the paper plates on top of each other (on the food) on their small trays, resulting in the cheese for the burgers sticking to the bottom of the plate. I ended up with a burger with half a slice of cheese. The bacon was actually prepared properly. Overall, I give this place a review that is neither good nor bad, but I won't return unless my daughter asks. She honestly didn't care for it, either, but I know she loved driving the golf cart, so we may if she asks. I just won't ever suggest it, though. Go to the Milwaukee County Zoo. It's infinitely better.

Love this wildlife sanctuary! Animals are well taken care of and staff is knowledgeable. Always enjoy walking through the zoo as well as taking a golf cart ride to see all the animals. Always a joy getting to feed the animals, especially the bears, Lewis and Clark. Be sure to bring carrots for the elk and other animals and peanut butter for the bears! Admission prices are very reasonable for being entirely visitor supported. This place is a must!

Shalom is the best zoo EVER! My family and I always enjoy spending the afternoon here. The animals are well cared for and I love that each exhibit is spacious enough for them to roam around. Best time to go to see the animals I think is spring and early summer before the leaves pure on all the plants. Do rent the golf carts if you do not wish to walk. It's an excellent way to see the animals. Be sure to take your camera because you will find many photo opportunities. Lots of interesting things to buy in the gift shop on the way out. We've enjoyed eating they're in the past 2 simple hot dog lunch

This was a great experience especially for the kids. You can rent a golf cart and drive around the zoo and view all the animals. This also adds a little bit of fun factor for the kids. There are educational sites set up throughout the zoo that help teach the kids, and let's be honest ourselves, about what you are seeing. The best part is all the animals have plenty of room to roam and are not trapped in small typical zoo enclosures.

If you love animals this is an excellent place to spend 4-5 hours. Its like a huge petting zoo. You can purchase a corn mix feed to hand out to all of your hooved friends. You can walk the trails or rent a golf cart.

Four miles of woodlands and animals in mostly natural settings. It is like taking a walk in the woods in northern .Path is mostly gravel so you need a sturdy stroller. Not good for wheelchairs or walkers. You can rent a golf cart, too, to get around. Gift shop and food. Free parking. Not your typical zoo!

Been here many times. To Angela Grady with one star: you didn’t like the hot dogs for the wolfs? There are buckets of meat provided at certain times. Get real. Wolves are meat eaters. And you didn’t get the parking? It’s free and well organized. What’s not to get? Anyhow, great place . I bring the family on the golf cart several times a year for about 60 dollars a day. This is a great nature reserve where you get to see the animals up close and personal. The grounds are beautiful and a fantastic place to walk around. The enclosures are large and spacious and everything is very clean and well maintained. This is a great place to bring the kids or just to walk around and enjoy the scenery. This place was awesome! Normally zoosk don't accommodate their animals very well. Here, though, it appears that they have plenty of room for the most part. Feeding the animals was also a fun part of the experience. Getting to bond a little with them makes you more involved than you normally get the opportunity to at a normal zoo. At a deer park in the Dells we were sold some crackers that the deer would eat. They loved them. But so did I, seeing as they were just Wasa brand multi grains, so I ate half of them. I want tempted to eat the corn & oats mix out from under the animals here though. My wife had a good time poking fun about this throughout our visit.

Wow. We absolutely loved visiting location. We had a good luck a perfectly temperature day and we were able to rent a golf cart which the kids absolutely loved. We enjoyed all of the natural habitats of the animals were able to enjoy. Especially the bears we thought that their location was beautiful for them. There is only one thing that was a little odd and that is that the golf carts and the people walked on the same trail. Often the people that didn't Rent the go karts would get very upset because go carts would be going past which I can understand. Tips - 1. Rent the go kart. 2. Only buy one bucket of feed for the goats and sheep 3. Get there early so that you can enjoy as much time as possible and relax.

Spend three or four hours here, immersed in nature. Leisure walking trails can be navigated with golf carts, if need be. Finding the creatures in each setting adds to the sense of wonder and discovery. There are many that are just waiting to be fed, and they'll give you some great photo ops! Right now, there's lots of babies. Looking forward to seeing this place dressed for Christmas!

There are too many cages here; cages with no room for the small animals to roam and hide, and these conditions have had a noticeably negative effect on them. Their constant pacing back and forth is a stark reminder that not only do they not belong here, but that their psychological well-being isn't a priority for this "zoo." Many of the animals here appear miserable (what happens to the tigers and camel in January?) and I wouldn't recommend giving money to this place.

Perfect place to bring your children to help to teach them the importance of respecting & enjoying our wildlife. Also, the admission prices are extremely affordable compared to other venues. You may also bring your own food or purchase something yummy from the Grizzly Grill there - which offers good food @ reasonable prices. Shalom rocks! ❤

I like going here with the grandkids, I feel it's better than the big zoo, the grandkids can get a bit closer to the animals. Feed some of the animals. Learn about the history of the area. They have a lot of fun, it's not so crowded like the big zoo. I feel they have a better experience here.

Great place for a little more wild zoo recordists. Wet walked the 4 miles of trails, which was pretty enjoyable, it's not too far between exhibits for my 1 and 3 year old to lose interest. Though they were jealous of the people driving golf carts around. Feeding animals by hand was a highlight for my kids.

Took us 2 hours to walk through and enjoy everything. $5 for a small(only size) but good amount of dried corn and such for the animals. My family has been here a few time in the past 3 years and we love coming back everytime! Each year there are new additions that makes it a whole new experience for my family! Definitely worth the price!

Shalom is a wonderful place to view wildlife in a low stress natural setting. Great for families and handicapped people to get around with the option of a golf cart rental. This is a gem of a place I have to say. Honestly, it is worth a detour to make it here for sure.
