Not very well taken care of
Small and friendly. Nice place to go with kids.
Great place for a picnic and lots of things for children to play on. The zoo is nice as well.
Nice free zoo!
Our kids enjoy seeing the animals when they do come out we go here every time we're in baraboo area
Good for small kids but they sure don't have much there. Very clean and friendly staff
Nice little zoo, my Gandkids loved it.
could be cute, and it was clean, but the animal enclosures were so small. None of the animals looked happy although they all looked healthy.
They could keep up the grounds better.cut grass in enclosures that are not being used and empty pools and clean them
The zoo is small and has parking just outside of the gate. The staff were very friendly and let us pet the goats. The animals looked well fed and happy. It didn't smell like some zoos do. It was clean and they let the chickens run around instead of keeping them cooped up.
Great small, cozy, friendly clean.
Beautiful
Great area for gatherings and the zoo keeps improving.
Stumbled upon this. What a pleasant surprise!
Love visiting this zoo and park when I come to Baraboo. The zoo is small but they have some pretty cute animals. Park is absolutely beautiful! They have an upper and lower part. At the zoo, they have little food dispensers you can purchase food to feed the animals. Really neat place to check out. No admission to the zoo but donations are accepted.
Such a cool place. Make sure to say hi to Clover
Great place for kids and adults! Wonderful park and the zoo is a perfect little gem. Highly recommend for inexpensive ( no charge but donations accepted) entertainment and education.
It's a nice free zoo. Definitely not enough here to plan a whole day trip, but is a nice stop if your in the area.
Love this place bring my kids here all the time small free zoo but it is growing every yr with new otter exhibit and new deer, crane, eagle exhibit. And wonderfully large lower park and river walk. Always a great day when where there
Great experience. What a gem to find unexpectedly.
not many animals and there's always weirdos hanging around at the park area
This is one of my favorite places.
Small family zoo. Lots of fun for the kids! They are always adding stuff! The park is very nice also! Has a pavlovian!
This place is small but has so much to see. My kids didnt want to leave and I dont blame them. There is a playground right out side the zoo to help get any extra energy out.
Free zoo, with a variety of animals. If you have :30 minutes and looking for something to do head here. Everything is outside. River otters where very active.
Free parking accessible to zoo and park. Very nice little zoo to walk through. They have just added new otter exhibit. Not far of a walk is the park. Play equipment is nice and fun for kids. Picnic tables around for seating while watching over park. Restrooms available as well. All in all I highly recommend Ochsners park and zoo.
We went early on Saturday morning and all the animals were out! I was very impressed. It is small but has a good selection and our kids were happy. We saw and talked to several workers and they were all so kind and shared lots of cool information with us!
Great little zoo! Just remember don't chase the chickens!! Lol
Tiny zoo that half the exhibits were empty and the small animal feed dispensers were either jammed or empty. Not worth the 50 minute drive. But could have been worse.
Very nice & simple. Simple is good. The variety of northern animals were neat to see. The tortoise out walking around & eating the foliage was cool to see.
Perfect zoo to take my three year old too, small and not overwhelming for him, good selection of animals, do fun events throughout the year, zoo keepers are friendly and knowledgeable
Very nice professional small zoo. 4 stars because it is small, otherwise it would be 5 stars. Nice variety of animals for a small zoo.
I hope when the renovations are done that it is worth all this waiting! We go a few a times every summer and in the last 2 summers there hasn't been much to see. I haven't seen the monkeys the last 2 times, or the bears, or the eagle, and I haven't ever seen the Otters, or the Lynx awake since they made the exhibits. The owls are really cool though!
Very delightful. The animals were quite active today and entertaining. The staff were friendly and helpful. A wonderful experience!
Cute little zoo and nice area to walk around. Berryboo the black bear was super cute! Attached to a nice park so we also walked by the river for awhile.
Enjoy it every time ive gone for the past 40+ years. I still miss the rabbit house. I can remember fox, beaver, porcupine, the goat with four horns, the very friendly turkey. Things change but never my admiration for this place. Keep up the good work.
Beautiful park! Huge shade trees and a nice little playground. The little zoo is a big bonus for the kids!
Great place zoo and park never a disappointment.
Very small but cute. I would say 6 and under kids zoo
It was a nice little zoo, so glad to see it being taken care of and new that ngs to come.
Cute little zoo. Not many animals, but well kept. Small walk to the river walk.
Such a cute little zoo! The kids had a blast. It's not to big. Which was perfect for us. The kids tend to lose interest in things pretty fast.
Love it. Small and great for the grandchildren. Also a big play area for the kids.
Amazing. Fun for Grandmas and grandkids
It's a lovely, small, well-kept zoo! I'll happily go back. A great size for littler children.
Love thia small park
We needed to burn some time. It's a very cute little zoo. The kids enjoyed themselves.
Always good for family time
Really nice zoo.
Great little zoo. Love that they have native animals! It's small but perfect for a quick visit!
Love this little Zoo. So glad Baraboo has Decided to hold onto this quaint little gem. The park Down below is good for letting you're kids blow off the rest of their steam, while you enjoy a picnic in one of there several pavilions.
Small zoo but less crowded then the one in Madison.
The otters are ridiculously cute, and the free range chickens are rather charming.
Loved this place. Nice outing
Great place for picnic, very good playground for children, nice zoo.
A very well maintained small free zoo! What's not to love?
Love coming here. Have since I was a kid!! Have to see the pigs and prairie dogs. They've recently added on a very nice area with the deer and a few other animals. It turned out beautifully. You're up higher so you get a great view of the entire area.
Nice small little zoo for the kids is kept clean
I have been going to this zoo for 50 yrs and am pleased to se the upgrades keep moving this gem toward the future Their are so few of these small zoos to enjoy. If you have children take the scenic drive to Baraboo this spring or summer take a picnic lunch.
Nice park and zoo. This was my first visit but my wife was raised down the street from it. It was a warm day today so the animals were relaxing to keep cool. The wolves were hiding out but after some sirens they came out it was nice seeing them howling then they sat to look at the people, very nice.
My grandkids really enjoyed this place, as did I. You otter see it for yourself! ;-)
Cute little out-of-the-way park.
Very nice little zoo with friendly workers. The play area was very nice too.
Otter be a lot of Fun! Owl 'n have a good time! Maybe monkey around. Bring your deer ones! Howl like a wolf. Cat got your tongue ? And say hi to mama llama.
Today was zoo crew first Sunday June every it was fun
We had a fun and education time
The EXACT size we expected. Animals seemed happy and keeper answered our questions and was very friendly. Great free little city zoo.
Being disabled there was more holes and ruts than a plowed field
Oh my goodness I love this place! It is small, but it's free and the animals are super cute! The rooster walking around freely makes me nervous, but my daughter lives it and tries to pet it. The donkey is so friendly and let's you pet it and feed it!! I wish the female prairie dog from vilas zoo was able to come out her cage tho. I get why but it's still sad to see her like that.
Small zoo, but it's free! A good spot to let the kids burn off some energy
Love our hometown zoo. Just wish the exhibits were larger for the lynx and owls, and otter and beaver exhibits were completed.
What a great little zoo, went at about 10 AM Sunday morning and there were very few people there. Mostly all the animals were out and that was unexpected. The otters were adorable and the wolves were beautiful. We did a little of the river walk as well which was very nice.
Great place to take kids small Zoo and it is free
Great little zoo. They try to do community outreach and informational times during the summer.
Really well kept up!
Park with a wonderful but small zoo. Great for young children.
Had some animals that the Madison zoo doesn't have my favorite the snowy owls
What a great little zoo. Lots of diversity in the animals. Very informative. Great for young & old!
A small zoo that my kids liked, great place to spend an hour
Nice small zoo. The otters and wolves are the best. Free to see but you can leave a couple $ donation.
For a small town zoo it's hard to complain. Seems to be growning every year
Nice little small-town zoo! There's a nice playground right next to the Zoo to keep the kids entertained and a short walk down to the Baraboo River Walk.
Took dad and some friends here for a trip to a free zoo. Will be back for another adventure some day soon.
Such a wonderful zoo! The staff is very friendly and our kids loved every second of being there!
Such a cute little zoo.
Very nice little free zoo to visit.
I have been going here for about 65 years and have always considered my visits top notch. When my kids were younger we liked to picnic there.
Love this little zoo and huge park, so do my boys! We could spend the whole day here and not spend a penny.
We had Great fun with our Granddaughter ❤️
Small free little zoo
Great small free park with quite a few of animals. Nice open hours. Very nice play ground for kids to play and nice place to have picnics. Shaded spots with large oak trees, picnic tables and a couple of places to to eat under shelter. They do rent shelters out for parties and get togethers.
Loved it so much! A cute little zoo with friendly animals. Went this morning and they have owls, goats, lynx, a dog, a donkey, a llama, a black bear, timber wolves, demotivated deer, otters, crane, geese, a monkey, and a really cool bald eagle. The otters were very friendly coming up to the glass and checking the people out, wish they had a bigger pool though because they loved swimming. The goats and pig were also very friendly and we fed them. Highly recommend coming to this free zoo and donating.
Great little zoo. Can't wait for the remodeling to be done. It'll be even better.
Cute little zoo and park. Just the right size for our family.
Unlock the mens room, womans seats were pee on them
A very very nice little Zoo. Free
Went there for it's 100 bday so fun
Nice little outing
Love this place! Their new artic fox is adorable.
Very friendly staff, go support them so they have the resources to do the best they can. Everyone there was great to my daughter as she asked questions.
Quaint tiny zoo in an unexpected location. Relaxing and beautiful.
Small park, but worth a visit. Great place to have a picnic!
Beautiful nature walk with so many animals my child loved it so much and so did the whole family definitely a place I want to go back to many times!!!
This is a truly hidden secret of Baraboo. A must stop if visiting the area. It is a works in progress, but still very cool.
What can you say? Picnic anyone? Great shelter, awesome trees, plenty of play activities...jungle gym units with slides and other fun activities as well as swings and the ride-on, bouncing animals.... SPEAKING of animals...the park has grown with the community and has several exhibits for everyone to enjoy, best yet, it's all free. Sweet and simple, create memories on a whim, without the need to make it an event as you might with a zoo or adventure park.
Very nice little zoo. No admission charged, but make sure to leave a donation.
Great little zoo. Plan on 2 hours max though.
Great place. Great people. Great animals. Some animals could have looked a wee bit healthier though. The animal I thought looked unhealthy were the prairie dogs they aren't to bad, but they sometimes have cuts and they fur is almost always matted down or unhealthy looking. Also I think it is kind of a bummer that you don't really show off your monkeys more. I know they can do tricks and I think people would take great joy in watching that. I love when zoos have programs like that because when people see animals in zoos they may want to help donate for endangered species in the wild. Idk just a thought.
Nice free in town zoo! Clean and a good variety of animals.
We always have a nice time here. With the zoo and the playground and the walking path next to the river.
Enclosures seemed small and lots of concrete, no swimming area for the beavers. Hopefully it gets better as the improvements kick in.
It's pretty small maybe a dozen animals but it's fun to take the little ones for something to do. Plus free admission and classes during the summer so for what it's worth it's definitely pretty awesome!
It sits on a beautiful park with well updated playground equipment. They have also kept the historical buildings and some equipment too. The zoo is in the process of getting a well deserved face lift. The wolves come from my favorite zoo I fully support in greenville, wi. If they will back this zoo, then I do too.
Always a wonderful place to visit. It is currently being renovated but you can still visit the animals. We visited the monkeys, owls, donkeys, prairies dogs, pigs, lynx, wolves, fox, and many many more.
Such an awesome and beautiful park. Always nice and clean. Great access to the river, and there is a zoo! It is not huge but for a free zoo you can't go wrong. Such an amazing place to just spend an evening at.
Very cool little zoo
Nice park. Kept up and fairly clean. Will visit again
It's a beautiful park with lots of shade & wide open space. There's some really nice exhibits in the zoo. There's a black bear, barn owls, monkeys, otters, deer, geese, wolves, pigs, llamas, prairie dogs, & a donkey. There's also a nice riverfront there with a walking path as well.
It's a very nice small zoo. The animals seem to be very well cared for and healthy. They have been improving the exhibits. I can't wait to see the otter exhibit when it's done.
They have done alot of updating these last two years!!! Deffintely a place to check our and keep donating for the growth to proceed
The park was great. Picnic area and plenty of space for kids to play. The sand could use some cleaning up (sticks and trash found in a few spots) but not too troublesome. Would absolutely recommend.
It is a great place to just relax and walk around.
All the animals are amazing!!
Looks much nicer then it used to years ago.
Quick small zoo with a picnic pavilion and playground. Great stop for the family on a lazy, sunny day.
Unfortunately it looks like they could use a lot of donations.
All the animals had room to run and they had habitats that were like the real thing to them and they had to find the food that they were wanted and the monkeys loved finding food because it reminded them of the wild and they had a black bear and a fox they had 2 black bears but one died of cancer too months before I came.
Wonderful little zoo, with very nice exhibits.
Absolutely the best small zoo around!!! The zookeepers and staff are phenomenal!!
Always like to stop and see this little free zoo
Restroom were nasty. Sink was black as black could be.
Been going there for yrs nice place
Good place for family's of all ages.
Not the best maintained zoo but had some meat animals and it's free!
Fun place to take the kids and pack a lunch...
Great little zoo
For a small Free Zoo, it iis a great place to take family too.
It's always a great place to take the kids. Pack a lunch and eat at the park after you see all the critters at the zoo.
Love all the new updates
Great little zoo
I frequently visit Ochsner Park Zoo with my children when we are in Baraboo. I would rate it 4 stars if there were more animals.
Small town zoo but very nice and right next to a park and river walk. Plus petting a skunk for the first time was awesome.
Very nice zoo. Love the wolves and otters
Nice animals! Mule was very cool
Super cute zoo! The bear enclosure was pretty cool!
Prairie dogs are awesome! I have been returning to this park for decades even though I live 3 hours away.
Go here every time we come to Baraboo and itgets better every time
A nice small place by the River to take a walk or have a picnic.
