My kid never gets bored of coming to the zoo. The animals are always fun to watch but they have added other features that keep the kids entertained, such as a splash pad, play ground and of course the carousel. We have found the animals to be really lively early in the morning or late in the afternoon and it seems like in the winter time they are always active.

It’s a bit expensive ($20 for an adult ticket) and the train to see the bison is an additional $2.50. However, the park shows an awesome conservationist message and has a large variety of animals. In the middle of the day the animals are a bit lethargic and not the most exciting as they are sleeping. However, it is a good zoo with a good opportunity to see animals from all over the world.

Hogle was a very affordable zoo. I think it was around $18 for an adult. Coming from the New Orleans area, or the Detroit area, it's much more affordable. It was large, with many exhibits and activities. Posted information about animals was helpful. My 5 year-old really liked it. She says her favorite parts were "going to the playground" and "the water play area." I thought the reptile area was a bit eclectic. There were bats, cats, birds, and insects as well as reptiles. I would have liked to see it better focused on reptiles.

Lots of fun walking around! Especially liked the Elephants, and seeing the otters was nice too! The seals swimming was pretty awesome. Only issue was a bunch of stuff like food spots looked closed, and since I visited in the summer I thought they would be open, but we got ice cream and saw bats and got food at the restaurant over looking the elephants which was just awesome. I was pretty well mesmerized. Don't recommend the chips though, they were not great.

Hogle zoo has a great variety of animals and is especially kid-friendly. I had to go there for a writing project, using an animal as a writing prompt. I spent several hours with the bears, which were super awesome to observe. Pricing for the zoo is pretty good, and is especially good for families with young kids and seniors. The Zoo is super friendly to families, and especially to kids. They have awesome stroller access areas, and many presentations and shows to engage the kids in the animals. Many animals also have feeding hours posted so that you can observe them feeding. Hogle Zoo also has a pretty fun looking, Lighthouse Themed splash zone for kids. I also bought food from one of their small restaurants and stopped inot the gift shop, the service was good, as was the food that I had. I was also pleasantly surprised to find the Zoo had pretty clean bathrooms. It’s sometimes pretty hit and miss with zoos, but the bathrooms there seemed well maintained and clean.

Visited with grandkids during Halloween. Decorations were really something! Gorgeous! However, I am not a fan of exploiting animals for ANY reason. I purposely have not been to Hogle Zoo in over 30 years. Displaying ANY animal is wrong.

Great zoo! Really worth the time and money. Had a great time as a family. There have been a lot of improvements over the last decade. Other than the reptile house, I believe everything else is nearly brand new. Many of the exhibits are really spectacular. Go!

Enjoyed our time today! Naturally we think it's a bit pricey oh, but it was a fun time nonetheless. considering it's a zoo, there were lots of great things to see we especially loved the giraffe exhibit and the sweet polar bear. The python I can go without seeing again! Little concern for the polar bear in the heat oh, definitely not his normal habitat. All the other exhibits looked well capped, the place was jammed packed naturally oh, but still a really fun way to spend the day with my family for Mother's Day. I do think more special should be offered for special holidays in days like celebrating parents.

The perfect day activity with little kids even when it's packed! It's been a few years since I visited Hogle Zoo and the new renovations are awesome. The Giraffe, Elephant, and bear exhibits are amazing. Now you get close enough to feed the Giraffes and see how long their tongues are. The kids sat and watched the Sea Lions swim around for a good 30 minutes. We also loved the new playground and splash pad! Even though the parking was completely full, the crowds inside the zoo were totally fine.

I had such a good time at the Hogle Zoo! There is a good variety of animals and plenty to look at. I loved seeing the giraffes and the lions. I was disappointed, that I did not get to see any small monkeys. On another note, I do recommend the flavor burst cones, garlic parmesan fries and bacon cheeseburger. They were amazing!

Awesome place but prepared to walk and explore the park take your time. I love the new attractions havent been back since 2003 so alot has changed. The food is well priced and be prepared for the heat up there. Also the employees assigned to each area are very knowledgeable about the animals that they cover. If you don't like kids, enjoy a nice adult beverage, and love animals Zoo Brew is your thing. Might be worth going earlier in the day if you can to actually see the animals.

It's a great place to visit for sure. Even when there's a lot of people it's not to bad because it's nice and open. Wish show time's where listed alittle better. Could also you some better signage and some sort of way to determine flow of traffic. Overall a great experience and the kids really enjoyed themselves! Don't forget to take a ride on the train!

I love this zoo. Plenty of places to rest when you get tired. Places to leaves strollers. Lots of places to get snacks or lunch. The places where there was a show are clearly posted. The only thing I would add is that the map needs to be updated.

Had a great time visiting the Hogle Zoo with my family the first week of July. We got there first thing in the morning to beat the heat and hopefully see as many of the animals as we could. Stop and watch the animal demonstrations. The Elephant and sea lion shows were awesome. $5 also buys you the chance to feed the Giraffes. You havent lived until you see up close and personal a Ginormous Giraffe tongue wrapping itself around a piece of lettuce. You may even be lucky enough to get some Giraffe slobber on your hands (Don't wipe it on your clothes it is kinda nasty).

The zoo as always is super fun with kids but the price is high compared to the value. I think if you live.in salt lake and go ALL the the time then an annual pass is a good value... Other than that it's really expensive

We are coming back tomorrow because we loved it so much! Pricey, but we did a free child ticket with purchase of adult ticket and stayed all day so it was worth it! Going on a weekday early near opening is AWESOME since it’s not as crowded, animals are active, and you are able to go to all the shows. Great elephant encounters, bird show, polar bears and more! Love the new playground and splash pad during summer, and the art exhibit sprinkled throughout. The adults had as much fun as the kids, can’t wait to go back!

An inexpensive family attraction. This zoo has put in a lot of work to upgrade the park and the animals living quarters over the years. It might not be for everyone and that's okay. My family has enjoyed our zoo park outings over the past 20 years. We are always impressed with the Zookeepers special care and love for the animals.

Wow what a great zoo, no it's not the national zoo in DC or the San Diego zoo but it's got all the big animals you want to see, they all appear to have plenty of space to move around and they all seem we'll cared for. As a bonus there's a play area for the kids to burn off some energy and for Mom and Dad to recoup some of that energy.

Probably the cleanest zoo I've ever been to. The bathrooms were clean and the animal exhibits were clean as well. I would highly recommend going to the aviary show. This was a true treat for the family. The zoo has a wide range of exhibits. It is not the biggest zoo but definitely very good.

It's a zoo, animals are taken care of. They have a cool safari animals exhibit. I wish the gorilla enclosure was bigger, and nicer for them. The pricing for food is exactly what parks typically do. This experience isn't going to blow your mind, but you will see a polar bear.

This is a fine zoo. They have a large variety of animals as far as I can tell.I don't have a lot of experience with zoos but our group really enjoyed ourselves at this one. It felt like the prices were a little high.$14 for kids, 16 for seniors in 17 for adults. The kids especially enjoyed watching the seals and sea lions.

Nice to go in the weekday afternoon because no one it's there. Pricey admissions (nearly $20 for adults), pricey souvenirs (ie: $17 for a child's hat). Very fun, lots of animals, train ride, bird shows, elephant show, and you can feed the giraffes.

It was really fun they had a lot of animals and there were bathrooms, water fountains and food places everywhere that's why I'm rating this five stars. The only problem I had was the price of every thing fries were six dollars! And the toys were 24 dollars and the stuffed animals were 18 dollars!

We spent some time at the Hogle Zoo and it was nice because it was after hours for a work party. Not a huge crowd to fight with. My only gripe is a number of animals had called it a day so there wasn't a lot to see. Some of the other exhibits also has other areas open to the animals that allowed them to leave the regular area. I'm sure they needed it but it was a bit sad to see my kiddos get so excited for animals they weren't able to see up close.

I love the hogle zoo. We've been season ticket holders for years and even though it's a big drive for us to get there we love every visit. We have a new experience every time. Repeat visits allows you to not feel rushed and get to focus on a different exhibit each time. We appreciate new experiences like feeding the giraffe ($4 with member discount, $5 without) and the things we do every time like the train ride or carousel ($2/ride) we absolutely love the bird show and go as after as we can. Hot days are no problem with misting fans around the park and the fun splash pad to play in. Lots of shade and there's ice cream too. Even on bad weather says we've had a great time. It's always a good day to go to the zoo. I recommend a season pass.

You *have* to try feeding the giraffes. Best money I ever spent! I've been here dozens of times and we always find something new to marvel at. It's a well-kept zoo with docents that really care! Ask at the front when show times are, they're all fun to see but they've really improved the sea lion show recently.

We had a wonderful experience with all the animals there. They were healthy and active. I felt like a little kid as we saw Lions and tigers and bears (oh my!). We watched the feeding of the seals and sea lions and we're able at everything they could do. We ended the experience with a carousel ride and then a short train ride. Go visit the zoo!

It was a great place to visit. Apparently it's been a while since I've been because it's a little different. The giraffes are at the front to greet you. You can feed them for $5. They now have a splash pad for the kids so plan on them getting wet. We spent a few hoyrs there and saw everything.

For what it is, and where it is, it's a great attraction. 2-4 hours comfortably sees it all. The kids water park at the end was really nice to let the kids burn off energy when they started to get bored after 2 hours of wandering and looking at animals.

We have been here a few times and the kids always have fun. There is a lot to see and a couple of areas for kids to run and play to work out some extra energy :) Boo at the Zoo was a fun experience. The trick-or-treat line was long and time consuming but the girls enjoyed wearing their costumes and seeing the animals. My mom was visiting and has a medical issue with her knees, we went early to get an electric cart but they were gone (season pass holders get in early) - it was disappointing to see so many sitting there in disrepair when there is apparently such a high demand.

Always super fun for the kids and the holiday activities are fun. The zoo light activities are fun but around the same price as a day pass but you can't use it in the day and most of the animals are hiding and/or asleep at night. The magic show and maze for the boo lights were included in price and were really fun for the kids. After paying to get in the train and carosel and stuff cost money as well. It can turn into a very expensive trip if you end up doing the other activities too.

We loved our trip to this zoo with our 18 month old granddaughter. It is not too big. It can be seen in an afternoon, but you can spend more time if you wish. Most of the animals were visible when we went around 3-6pm. It wasn't too crowded either. We went on a Friday in Sept. It has a train and carousel for additional price. The train ride was short, but pleasant. Bring your own water bottle to fill up at water stations.

I wish I could give this place ten stars. I was extremely impressed! I’ve worked with animals forever. I know and understand what a lot of exotic animal needs are. They blew my expectations out of the water. All the animals are active and healthy! There are plenty of signs around that clearly state to please be quiet and respectful most people were with the exception of small children! Wonderful! Staff was friendly! Would definitely recommend! Annual Pass holder here! We love this zoo! They have sunrise and sunset safari days for members who get to enjoy extended hours. It's a beautifully kept zoo and the animals are always active and happy. You can feed the giraffes and interact with the animals and learn about them. The zoo workers and volunteers are always willing to answer questions and share the details about the animals. The bird show is worth the wait.

Always a great experience at hogle zoo. They have really put a lot of thought into their exhibits to make them as natural/comfortable as they can for the animals while still employing great viewing opportunities. We actually did a special behind the scenes giraffe encounter that was absolutely fantastic. We got to ask all the questions we wanted and learn about them directly from their keepers. We even got to hand feed them from the employee only area for a really up close and personal experience!

I love the zoo! So worth the membership if you go frequently. The sunrise and sunset safaris are awesome. I have been going here since they had the hippos and penguins back in the day, but now they have even more fun animals like the red pandas and lions. For sure check out the reptile house, but don’t eat the goldfish off the floor like my two year old......

Hogle Zoo is a fun, brain enriching experience for people of all ages. Its definitely not a short experience, it took me about 3 hours to get through it all(which isn't a bad thing). There are so many interesting and rare animals there like the Amur Leopard. The zoo keepers are really knowledgeable about the animals, even the employees who aren't zoo keepers know a lot. 4 out of 5 because certain groups of animals aren't present but an overall great experience.

The Hogle zoo is basically a bigger Tracey Aviary with more non birds. I've been here twice, once for an elephant show and another for just seeing the rest of the zoo. I have to say this is the best zoo that you can go to in Utah. It's much better in the animals seen much happier than over at lagoon. And I particularly liked the elephant show because the elephant seem to have some joy and humor in them.

Really great mid-size zoo. My son's jaw dropped at the giraffes and lions. The whole savanna layout, with zebras, giraffes, and an ostrich, and some random African birds all in the same pen, was awesome. Small animal building was great too. Almost got hit by a flying pink bird. No hippos or kangaroos? Maybe we missed them.

I love this zoo! Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is amazing but each are special in their own way. The animals are amazing. Most exhibits are fairly new. The staff friendly. Zoo member now and plan to visit often.

Haven't been there for years but the new layout has more animals, shade for guests and misting areas for guests to cool down at. I miss the hippos but the seals and their show was cool! I had 4 kids under 8 with ke and they all had fun and loved the water area! Great way to cool them all down!

Great place for families and singles alike. Lots of things to do and see. The bird show was the best part of our visit, so make sure you get there in time to see it. Only complaint: everything in the zoo costs an arm and a leg, which I suppose you should expect at a place like this. However, the cost for the train? Ridiculously priced for what you get. $2.50 per person for a little 4-5 minute ride. They charge for the carousel as well.

We always love the zoo and decided to check out the Family Night last night so my husband could come as well. Unfortunately we left with two crying boys because the Small Animals house was closed at 8 with no warning. I hope there was a legitimate for this, not just security wanting to leave early but irregardless, a warning upon entry or something would have been nice. A few other things were closing up early too, mostly food vendors.

I don’t remember the last time I was this sad. Pitiful existence for most of the animals. Minimal attempt to provide a natural environment for most of the animals, card board boxes, kennels, baskets. Small enclosures for large animals. My grandchildren were horrified! Dont believe your star rating for one second, unless it is supposed to have a -behind it! I hope you step up your game and give these creatures the life they deserve!!

The zoo was free for military today. We are so grateful for their kindness! The zoo was really disappointing. What happened to all the animals? I took my grandchildren today, I used to take my children. The zoo has changed so much. It's sad in some ways but I think zoo's are a thing of the past. Five stars for letting military come free and for your staff. 1 star for the zoo itself.

The closest I have been to the animals in any zoo. The animals look very well cared for and the zoo is packed with secret windows to get you right up next to a Rhino, Polar Bear, and many others. $20 per adult, a water is $3.50 but refillable throughout the park for free. Absolutely wonderful for all ages.

Our kids love the Zoo. We bought a family membership as going twice would pay for it. We have already been those two times in one month. Love the picnic areas as they allow outside food and drink. The bird show is a must!

Why is it so expensive!? Some of the coolest animals are not outside. It makes it really hard to make your money's worth when there's no enough to see. It's $19 for adult. Its just ridiculous. I guess it's only for the wealthy to visit.

They take great care of the animals and the staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. The many exhibits are unique and fun to explore. There are plenty of benches along the paths, places to eat and drink, and misters when it's really hot. This place is open all year and I can't wait to go back.

The Hogle Zoo is such a fun place to visit. They are AZA accredited and take great care of the animals. They have fun bird shows and giraffe feedings daily. They also have elephant trainings and sealion/seal training during the day. The best times to go are the early mornings and later evenings because there are more animals active. They have a few places to get food and have fun dishes.

This zoo is wonderful for what it is! Although quite smaller in size than other zoos I have been to, there is a really nice variety of animals here that will have you in awe of their beauty. It took us a full afternoon to get through the entire thing. There is something here for everyone to enjoy, from a train ride around the giraffe and zebra enclosure to feeding the giraffes and bird shows. The gift shop has a lot of really great things, and the bathrooms are well kept and clean. Admission is affordable and they offer discounts for kids, senior citizens, and others (can't remember off the top of my head). They also allow outside food and drink in, which is amazing compared to most places like this! Overall a wonderful and very affordable day of fun for the whole family to enjoy! We will absolutely be back!

Highly priced for a medium sized zoo. Many of the exhibits were closed. The Savanah animals were awesome and the bird show was fantastic. The kids loved the splash pad. Not a terrible experience, but it just isn't very big.

Not a large zoo, but the exhibits are well done. Highly recommend if you want a couple hours of fun. The Lions were sleeping directly in front of the viewing area that day. A small example of what made this zoo stand out.

Hogle Zoo is a great family place. They have free days every so often which are great! Our little man loves seeing all the animals and because it’s so family friendly you can stroller anywhere! During the winter some of the animals are not out so best time to go would be before winter.

Really fun zoo! It's on the smaller side, but the animals seem very well cared for and happy. The carousel and the train ride are both inexpensive and a fun treat for kids and adults alike. The area is clean and there was a big focus on conservation and taking care of our earth, which I love to see. Currently around the zoo, there are several life-sized animal art pieces made from litter found in waterways and oceans, and it helps you see what gets left behind. They're a great conversation starter with your kids on how it can be easy to do our part to keep our planet clean (don't leave trash around, pick up what you see, etc). The live bird show was fun to go to! We had many majestic birds glide inches above our heads, it was amazing! Also, the splash pad is a HUGE HIT! We went on a very hot summer day, and the splash pad was a welcome treat!

I had a wonderful time at the Hogle zoo! All the animals are interactive and incredibly beautiful, well cared for and I felt really welcome. I'm a wheelchair user and for the most part, the pavement is all smooth and the paths are nice and wide. I did struggle with some doors, they should have buttons to assist the disabled. The sand cat was the cutest! The red panda, the most fun, the snow leopard was asleep with it's paws against the glass. The apes were Majestic. I missed the bird show but I heard it was fabulous. I could have spend hours in the small animals house and with the big cats. There were food options, snacks and an incredible carousel which I got to ride. That was like magic for me. I hope you all have a great time too! Just be aware the further you go into the park, the steeper the inclines. If not for the fence i could have reached out and pet the lions mane.

The only reason I came to this zoo was for the after hours support I was able to take part in with adults over the age of 21. I purchased adult beverages to increase awareness and help for the Colobus Monkey and felt really good about myself. I only saw a total of 5 animals, but it was worth the heat and walk to be part of a good cause. ♡

Had a blast....hubby and I came here and looked at all the exhibits....We got to feed GIRAFFES!! Did a 16 attraction pass and it's already paid for itself. What a great zoo, my hometown zoo has been without African elephants for some time so getting to see the elephant training as part of their daily programs was a great experience. They are very focused on conservation efforts at Hogle which we loved to see! Highlight of the visit was the bird show! If you're at hogle zoo definitely try to check it out!

Such a fantastic place. We’ve always done other things when visiting the Salt Lake City area, but are sad that we waiting so long now. This zoo is on par with any others we have ever visited and that includes San Diego. We were able to get very close to many animals and loved how the entire zoo is setup so that there is room for everyone to see yet close together so there isn’t much walking to do. Lots of great work and effort and planning to make this such a great venue.

Wonderful! Someone even returned our daughters winter coat by hanging it on the white picket fence where I dropped it out front of the parking lot. No one else took it either! We love the Zoo! We have a membership and because of the membership, we are able to enjoy the zoo all year round, and it makes the trip worth it for us. However, the food is really pricey and not the portions are not worth the price you do pay, even with the 10% off membership discount. So bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the scenery and the animals :)

My wife visits the zoo with the grandkiddies frequently, and they love it. I go about twice a year. The zoo is updated and family friendly. Animals, like lions, tigers, polar bears, etc., are able to be seen in "natural" habitats and sometimes just six feet away and up close! Lots to experience at the zoo. There's a train ride, a carousel, boo lights @ Halloween time, zoo lights @ Christmas time, dining areas, gift shops, etc. There are giant boweries for family or business events. Hogle Zoo is set up high in the foothills and there's lots of parking. Go enjoy!

It was labor day and even though the parking lot was packed, the zoo was still really easy to navigate and didn't feel overcrowded. It is a great place to spend the day with the family. I would give it five stars but I don't fully support the idea of zoo's but I understand their need to facilitate education and conservation efforts. We love zoos so we always try to find one when we are visiting new towns. We decided to go to the zoo in Salt Lake City! I am so glad we did! This zoo is the best one I’ve ever been to! The viewing area for the polar bears is so fantastic that we were able to watch them playing with each other in and out of the water! We got to see the giraffes up close, a gorilla right on the other side of the glass, and the whole park from a train ride! We went first thing in the morning so it wasn’t too crowded or too hot. It was a fantastic experience! Thank you, Hogle Zoo, for all you do for those animals!

They are making a lot of improvements which is really nice to see. I love the sea lion and seal enclosure. The open Savannah exhibit is refreshing as well. It is a small zoo so we are usually done in under 2 hours but my kids still enjoy it. The Bistro cafe food is excellent.

I love this zoo. Lots to do. The exhibits are well designed and spacious with plenty of variety of animals. We stayed for the presentation about Elephants and it was really fascinating to watch and learn more about those amazing creatures. The admission was a bit steep - $19, but it was a great experience as an adult as well as for my 2 year old son. The best part was drinking water from the lion’s mouth. Bonus - they have a large play area.

Very nice zoo, with many interesting things to see, like the mixed-animal African exhibit, with good viewing locations/angles. Good gift shop. Many of the animals seemed content in their enclosures, which usually gave them a bit of room to roam and things to do. Hogle is big on opportunities to spend your money. I'm pretty sure there are more cafes, food stands, dipping-dot sellers, souvenir stores of all sizes, rides, etc., than there are exhibits. The whole ends up with an urban, squashed, commercial feel, but it's very nice, anyway. Good bit of parking across the street. Expect a crowd. My OKC zoo pass got me in for half price by going to the member desk. On sunny days, better use that sunscreen and wear a hat -- or get a Hogle hat, like I did.

Took my 3 grandchildren there while I was visiting them in South Jordan. We enjoyed the entire day, especially the shoes. We were disappointed that bird show was canceled due to wind but staff brought a bunch of birds out for all to see. I'm told the bird show is exceptional. I liked that we could bring our own food in. That made the day more affordable. I only wish you had addl rooms to change baby diapers. Feeding the giraffes was a very cool experience!!

What a great way to spend and afternoon with the family in Salt Lake City. I took my 3 year old there and we had the time of our lives. I went to the zoo with some friends. We loved the elephant show as well as the bird show. We brought a lunch and there was plenty of tables to sit at and eat. After lunch, the kids played at the park and splash pad. They had the coolest animal displays made our of garbage from the ocean. It was amazing!

We love the Hogle Zoo and have had a membership for years. Great place and really getting better all the time. We really hope they’ll find a better use for all the real estate they have to the East of the entrance sometime soon. It’s a lot of space and right now pretty much all it has is half the train loop. The newer exhibits are stellar—the “Asian Highlands” cats area, Rocky Shores, savanna, Elephant, and lion exhibits.

Ever since they improved the Zoo, it looks amazing. They really do try to involve the entire family with different events and activities. Even though the Zoo is relatively small compare to other Zoos, they still have a great selection of animals and other creatures to look at and learn about. Great place for the family/friend events. It is a bit pricey so beware of that. My advice is to get a membership, it’ll save you money in the long run, if you plan on returning multiple times like my family and I have. You also get discounts as a member.

No hippos, wolves, or some of the other things we enjoyed as kids but our little ones never noticed or cared about it. Prices are decent for what they have. Concessions are bit pricy but who isn't. You do have the option to pack lunches in. Love the merchandise. Neat things for the kids like the little explorer sets. Was disappointed that veteran's discounts are not offered daily with the senior citizen discounts that are daily. The cashier said they have a 'free' day. My issue with that is they assume all veterans don't work and have the ability to know when that is and show up. Most PTSD veterans will not like the crowds and look for off peak days. They may want to revise this marketing. Consider a daily discount for those who served or are serving. Other than this, thank you very much for the experience. We had a wonderful time. Would do it all again.

Hogle Zoo is an excellent way to spend an afternoon with the family. Young kids and strollers welcome. We fed the giraffes (for an extra $5), saw monkeys, reptiles, and caught a bird show. We also enjoyed watching the elephants and peacocks. I didn't know that many of the zoo's occupants we're rescue animals. Very cool! We spent nearly 4 hours walking the entire park. Pretty good for 19$/person (kids under 3 free). Go check it out.

It was beautiful!! We had a great time. I do have to make a point to say that I was rather upset that during normal business hours they train the bears, out of public view...so we did not see any of them. In addition the polar bears pool was being cleaned...but no one was cleaning it...so the polar bear was not there for us to see either. I think these things should be done when the zoo is closed. I am not understanding why it would be done during normal business hours when people come form out of state and pay good money for a family of 5 and yet are not afforded the opportunity to see all the animals. Other than that it was clean and the animals were active and thriving in their habitats.

We love Hoagle Zoo! I grew up in Northern Utah and have been enjoying this Utah treasure since as far back as I can remember. They are always adding something new or changing exhibits so it always feels like a different place. There are tons of photo ops for kids and family like the many statues around the zoo. Every visit the animals appear clean and well taken care of. The gift shop and souvineer shopping is massive. They have a carousel and a train! Many restrooms and drinking fountains which are a must with young kids along. The only thing I get a bit sad about is that years and years back they had a wax machine that you could watch mold you the shape of an animal. There are buildings and covered areas if you want to escape the weather and still see the critters from. Our favorite was the polar bear, he swam with a ball the whole time and it was adorable. My youngest loved the new splash pad playground area, it helped lots with the heat of the summer!

Due to the construction going on it’s not the zoo it once was. It’s always fun to go see animals but at the end of the day kids want interaction with the animals. They want to be able to learn more about wildlife and conservation. More could be done to get the public involved. Parking is an absolute nightmare. But it is a great place to go every now and then if you can catch it at a slow time.

A very fun outdoor adventure for children. Animals of many varieties to see. Make sure to bring your own food and drinks to save some extra money. Also check your local Les Schwab tire center to get free "buy one adult pass get one child pass free" coupons. And bring plenty of sunscreen. There are shades areas at the zoo but it is mostly walking through the heat.

The animals at this park receive the best medical care and facilities appropriate for each species. All the caregivers I've had the privilege to talk with are passionate about the highest quality of care for the animals in their charge. This zoo is much more than just a park to go and look at caged animals. Paying money to this zoo means you are supporting their efforts for conservation and education of all species of animals and to improve conditions and rehabilitation for vulnerable and endangered species all over this planet.

This zoo is always a great Zoo. My kids love going here and would go everyday if they could. The gift shop is a bit expensive oh, but what gift shop is not? The bird show is hilarious and amazing. They had a fun Art Exhibit going during the time we were there. There was Art on the ground and some standing around the zoo as well as sculptures made from all kinds of colors of trash into beautiful amazing animal sculptures. I really like that added art gets help shake it up and brought something new to the zoo that we've been to so many times. If you haven't done it before there's a train that goes around but it moves kind of slow and I wouldn't recommend it it's not worth the money. Unless it's a really special thing for your kids. We went on a really hot day so of course most of the animals were kind of hiding or being lazy in the shade. I would recommend going early in the day if possible.

We love the zoo! It is such a great place to come and let everyone burn some energy. We get a season pass and love being able to come and go as we please with our family of kids. You also get a small discount on purchases like food, gifts, etc. Everything is outside except some of the monkeys and the reptiles. Be prepared for the weather of the day. Every spot is stroller/wheel chair friendly and there are only a couple of hills, the rest is mostly flat. You can come early and watch them feed the animals. The holiday events are great and they are open year round. The play areas are great and there are lots of places to stop and sit. You can bring your own food in without issue. Great Friendy staff and good service. Food is decent and the gift shop is super fun. They stopped giving straws and plastic bottles to help protect the animals and the environment!

It's great and they had a lot of sea art made out of trash.... however the reptile exhibit seemed inhumane to me. A lot of animals shaking... especially the birds in the middle area and the poor animals near the doors which were being slammed closed every 2- 5 minutes... this entire area should be looked at and revamped to create a more comfortable and humane environment.

My wife and I stopped in using the city pass. We didn't have the kids but that didn't stop us from having fun. Weather was great, staff was friendly and the animals were all out in for viewing. A beautiful facility and great walk. Weather was perfect in the morning but warmed up as it got closer to noon. They have water pads for kids and if you are willing adults. It is not the same Zoo! Wow, everything has been redone since the early 2000's. It has been redone to be a much more natural for the animals. It's not a big zoo but there was a bird show and a show for the seals and the elephants. I enjoyed really fresh and tasty food at lunch time. Bravo! I will definitely return.

We love love love the zoo. Last March we decided to get a family pass, and haven't regretted it for a minute. We have a 2 year old boy, and he loves being able to see the animals. The zoo has some hills, so be prepared to walk up and down some steeps to get around. I look forward to some of their other year round events, such as Zoo lights, both for Halloween and Christmas. I recommend going early right as they open, to get the best views of the animals just as the day is starting, and to beat the crowds.

Although the zoo is growing at an exponential rate, the shops and displays appear to be taking up the majority of the room. Still, a day of fun and exercise for the family couldn’t have been better planned. The workers stopped to fix the Great Horned Owl’s vapor mister and had cups of water for the guests. Going above and beyond the call of duty is nothing unusual for Hogle Zoo.

We really hope they’ll find a better use for all the real estate they have to the East of the entrance sometime soon. It’s a lot of space and right now pretty much all it has is half the train loop. The newer exhibits are stellar—the “Asian Highlands” cats area, Rocky Shores, savanna, Elephant, and lion exhibits.

The animals were so happy and well taken care of. It's a small zoo, but quality of quantity.

I've been attending this zoo since I was little. I feel like it's steadily gone downhill. Although many of the renovations have been very nice (and much needed), there are fewer animals and exhibits. Food prices are very high, but I guess that's to be expected. It's very nice that the grounds are greener (with misters) and cleaner, but I just think we can do better here. Also, I'm sooooo happy that this lion fountain is still here!

I love the zoo! The Hogle Zoo is a pretty good one. The workers seem to know what they are talking about and are helpful. The animals all seem taken care of and happy enough for the circumstances.

It has been years since I visited the Hole zoo. I am very impressed by the changes they have made. The habitats are much nicer than I remember. Definitely try to go in the morning or in the evening if you want to see the animals active.

We loved the new updates for the animals so they can be free and open or have places of seclusion for resting. The zoo definitely seems smaller with less animals, but very enjoyable. Entrance prices have definitely jumped. Costs a lot to take a family, but if the money goes to benefit the animals I don't have a problem with paying a little more .

It was nice and compact. We were able to see everything in a couple of hours comfortably. Added bonus for the mist fans located throughout the zoo those came in handy!

I can't say enough good things about this zoo. We loved taking the zoo train to experience some of the exhibits. They had an amazing and interactive bird show. The zoo also features a splash pad, carousel, and a variety of animals that were active during our visit. Highly recommend!

It was a good Zoo. I am used to the Ft. Worth and Dallas zoos so overall this had an okay vibe. Did like the Polar bear though and the Grizzlys were awesome.

The water misters and giant fans are a great treat. Super clean. AFCU day with a $10 discount helped. Clean ADA restrooms. Train and carousel were fun. Free parking. Lots of little shops for drinks and food.

I love the zoo, they have really great areas that spray water on you, and although a lot of things are overpriced you get access to a free little water park, and all the animals are sweet

We arrived 5 minutes before gates opened at 9am. There was plenty of parking and only a few families in the ticket line. We spent over an hour looking at exhibits but we could have easily spent 3 hours if we had spent time at the splash pad, playground, and carousel. We enjoyed the way the zoo was spread out and the life size stone and metal animal figurines placed around the zoo. As we made our way to the exit around 10:30, the zoo was pretty busy and navigating around people was challenging. We're glad we arrived first that morning where we practically had the entire place to ourselves. Recommend going early to beat the crowd.

The hole zoo has recently made a lot of changes that are clearly benefiting the animals. This zoo appears safe, humane, clean, and well cared for. Over run with children, the 21 only nights are the best time to go and really get to see the animals.

It was like going to the zoo for the first time. We had not been in many years and it was nice to see the new enclosures for the animals were much more spacious. All in all it was a fun experience to have again.

The zoo is really nice. There are allot of animal attractions and Lil things to do like feeding giraffes. The zoo is very clean. But the bathrooms are very spread out and only can purchase water.
