REVIEWS OF Eagle's Landing Petting Zoo IN Utah

Amanda Morrow

Wish it had been open when we were there. But neat to see a baby peacock!

Heather Buzbee

Very nice staff who are excited to teach children and travelers about animals. Many of the animals have been abadoned and then rescued by the zoo staff. My kids loved this place. Its free and makes a nice stop on road trips for stretching your legs. Currently the zoo hands out pet food for free to those who want to feed the goats, rabbits and sheep. They have a 24 pound Flemish rabbit that is very gentle and let my kids pet it for much longer than I expected.

Doris P

0 stars! This place needs to be closed and the poor animals send to a sanctuary. Making money by abusing animals is a crime.

We've tried visiting this petting zoo at least three times now, while travelling, and it's never open.

Brittany Baggott

We had so much fun here! Such a great find in the middle of nowhere.

Tyson Daun

Great little petting zoo to stop at with your kids during a long drive. They have rabbits, goats, and sheep for petting and various other animals to look at such as a camel, zonkey, etc. Pricing is free but definitely worth leaving at least a $5 donation. They do close during the winter season typically Oct - Apr so make sure to check their Facebook. If they are open it's well worth the stop.

Sue Oehler

Outrageous prices on all, including gas - gouging.

Melanie Alexander

You will love the Scipio Petting Zoo, it was such a fun surprise mid travels! This was our first stop here, and we will make sure to stop again. The animals were very well taken care of, with animals from alpacas, to Rabbits. We saw 15 different varieties of animals and were able to pet a few that were friendly. The staff was nice and answered our questions telling us the animals names and interesting details about them.

Gary Baker

Clean facility. Plenty of parking.

Roderick Spotville

Very busy at the time but clean

Have yet to be able to actually walk it, the outside has too many fried weeds...

I literally just left this petting zoo and am a bit concerned at what I saw. This isn't a review on the zoo itself. Just really voicing my concern for the care of the animals. I didn't stop for the zoo, I stopped for gas. Upon entering the gas station, I almost hit a beautiful male peacock with my car! The petting zoo was closed, no one was there when I arrived, and there was one male and one female peacock outside of the petting zoo fence and one female in the midst of escaping. I waited around and noticed a man who was already calling the non-emergency number for the police. The peacock kept walking into the lot of the gas station and wandering in and out of cars. Finally I noticed three people walk up with food for the animals. There was an older gentleman, an older woman, and a young woman. When I addressed them and voiced my concern, they didn't respond at first. Then, they all three looked at me, acted like I had completely offended them with my "do you guys know they're out?" question, and the young lady answered, rudely, "yeah. They do that" and then spit on the ground. I think what concerns me most is that none of these three people seemed to care at all that these animals were out roaming around where cars were driving in and out. They went about their business and didn't do anything about the male peacock who had now roamed further into the gas station lot where cars were pulling in and out. I'm not suggesting they don't care for the animals appropriately because they looked like they were on their way to feeding them. They could, however, be a bit nicer in responding to concerns and could be a bit more reassuring that these animals do in fact roam around the gas station frequently because being from out of town, all I see are beautiful animals not being watched after. I sincerely hope this was just a one time thing, I caught them on an off day, and most of all, the peacocks were eventually retrieved and put out of harms way.

Seen a zonkey there yes a zonkey 1st time ever hearing of one and seeing 2 of them very clean facilities for a petting zoo knowledgeable staff and hand sanitizer when finished

Joshua Malan

Weird place for a petting zoo! But, hey, ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Keep up the good work and having this place there.

Bill Esser

Good food, very nice people and the entire place is kept very clean. The petting zoo for the kids is awesome!!

Ashlynn Lewis

Never seems to be open. The animals are very cute and have plenty of shade from the hot sun though. You can still see some of them from the gates outside.

Teresa Barney

Aaron Allred

So cool! The guy who runs it loves these animals and told us all about them. My kids loved it!

Makenzie Rucker

The gentleman that cares for the animals is very kind. He loves each one as his own and knows all about them! It's all ran on donations!

Clarissa M.

Roadside America's fantastic website led me to this wee gem. Husband & I stopped for gas here on our roadtrip across Utah--I was disappointed to see a "Closed" sign on the gates for the zoo, but the keeper was kind enough to allow me in anyway! He explained all his animals, their names, and his affection for them all was clear. What a charming place! A lovely visit for sure!

bobnnnn1

Wonderful petting zoo with very caring owners. You can actually visibly see how the animals are so fond of the owners, which is a testament to how well they are treated. I will continue to support this petting zoo (through reviews and donations), and recommend anyone around the area to stop by!

Amanda Gutierrez

Great place to stop real quick and visit for kids. Staff member was super nice he gave us food to feed the animals with. Also told us about the animals and answered any questions we had.

Busy little Flying J Truck Stop in Central Utah.

Duke of Curb

Fun little petting zoo and gas station.

L Miller

Our third time trying to visit to find out it was closed again, couldnt find hours anywhere online (I just added them to Google Maps). Went to the gas station with disappointed kids and found the operating hours, while take a photo of the sign to keep in mind when passing through next time, a man approached me and said 'I'm just finishing up cleaning the zoo, i can give your family a quick tour'. Such a kind gesture that turned my kids disappointment back to excitment! We got a lovely one on one time with unique animals "Zonkeys" and the keeper seemed very caring and loved all the animals. If you can catch them when they are open, its well worth it.

Sheila Altrogge

We really just stopped here for the convenience store and gas, but the whole place is pretty cool. Can't say anything bad about it.

TJ O'Brien

Interesting to say the least

Paul Goddard

The restrooms are absolutely filthy. The service was very slow, and not particularly friendly.

Emrey Torres

It was a fun little place where my family could have fun.

Nicolle Montoya

I am sick. Such an amazing and large animal like a camel does not deserve to be locked in a small fenced area. Was looking for the owners to give them a piece of my mind however no one was here except for people taking pictures in front of the camel. You guys should all be ashamed of yourselves. Say no to inhumane animal captivity!

Gabbie Baarsma

Adored this little petting zoo!! The owner was so friendly and humorous and the amount of animals were more than i expected. I never knew a zonkey was a real thing! Also there was no charge, whole place runs on tips! Great place, was an honor to support :)

This is such a cool place and a fun idea. Come pet goats and bunnies. You can sometimes feed the animals too. Come see animals you wouldn't normally see, all for free!

Don Korth

Pretty neat little place.

Donald Smead

The grandchildren enjoyed petting the animals.

Good place to stop for gas, especially if you have kids. The petting zoo is free (donations appreciated) and you can play with some giant bunnies and some frisky goats, see a giant camel, some mini horses, and also a Zonkey (zebra + donkey). Zoo closed monday/Tuesday if I'm not mistaken.

Asri P

My husband stops here lots of times for gas, and we finally stopped by the petting zoo on the way on our road trip. Very nice people, caring for the animals. The place is free entrance, just pay donation if you want.

Laura Hillier

Super clean, nice bathrooms but small. Friendly staff. Extremely busy !

David Brown

Everyone is friendly. Animals are mild mannered. My wife and I have stopped many times but finally got to see the petting zoo. Well worth stopping off at.

Sean Jerig

Fun place to pet some goats, food dispensers for feeding the animals on site. Of course our one year old loved it. =)

Hayden Turner

This is a really interesting place it's not big and it's across the road from the truck stop. They have a big variety of animals there, they have bunnies, goats, lambs, a camel, ducks, gease, emuies, peacocks, and thier famous zonkies! Cool place to stop on a long road trip.

Cris Child

We love stopping here when we’re driving through. We love the bunnies, turtles, zonkeys, camels! It’s so cute! Always drop a donation for this little zoo.

If I could give no stars I would..the old man that was there tried to scold me for putting my open hand next to the camel's fence and said it's a sign of aggression and when I apologized and said I would never want to do that he then proceeded to go into the pen ..gates open and kiss the camel then offer for the next people to feed it..then when he saw we had turned around he asked if I wanted to feed it and I said oh no not if it is aggressive he tried followed us to the goat pen and told me I was being a smart ass...WTH ....then he was asking my kids if they wanted to go in the goat pen..I quickly said no and I left with crying kids ...way to ruin a good break for the kiddos..what a jerk! AND are you kidding what a double standard..dont place your hand next to the fence but here I can kiss it and you can feed it.! Oh no ..I wouldn't even give any stars for his actions alone! Beware of the crazy farmer guy! So disappointing for the kids!

Joey Cozza

A wonderful stop during a long drive. They have some really different animals like giant rabbits, giant chickens, a camel, a zonkey (zebra donkey mix) and more.

L Peterson

This was so fun and much more than expected. There was an attendant in the petting zoo who was very friendly and knowledgeable about the animals. I learned something I didn't know before! He came up to us and asked "Who is brave?" The brave person got a handful of food for the camel. I saw that this was the routine for each new group of people he greeted. You could tell he really enjoyed interacting with the public and taking care of the animals. The animals were well taken care of and seemed happy to interact with the public. I will definitely make this a part of my trip again when heading to southern Utah with or without the grandkids!

Great break when travelling with children. The ability to go into pens to pet rabbits, tortious is so nice. The llamas & horses are friendly.

Cheyenne Olsen

We were just passing through on our way to California, just stopped to get out of the car a bit, they were closed but a man came up to us and said you can come in I’m just finishing the cleaning, but I can show you around. The animals all were very taken care of. It was a really cool surprise experience.

Lequi Colwell

What a sweet surprise to see a petting zoo at this gas station/truck stop! Our girls enjoyed petting the bunnies, sheep and goats. Very nice person running it and the animals look very well taken care of. Definitely add this stop during your travels!!!

MaRanda Arellano

Calls it a petting zoo cuz you get to pet bunnies and baby lambs and goats. Everything else you get to look at. If he takes an interest in you, he will give you some food to feed the camel so you can get a picture with it but if he has decided he doesnt like you, dont expect much. Think the animals could have better living conditions if he actually tried. Chickens having bald spots all over and looking awful so something is up.

Dawn Diovera

Very clean. Animals all seemed fit and happy. The caretaker was very kind and informative. Highly recommend this petting zoo. We met Wednesday the camel who was rescued frim a live nativity scene! The peahen and her babies were a delight. My husband was fascinated by the goats. I am an animal lover/owner and i was impressed. It isn't a regular petting zoo. Here, all the animals have their own, appropriate living enclosures. All shaded. Go!

This is a horrible “petting zoo”!!! It is very inhuman to keep animals in a very hot summer/cold winter parking lot! Exotic animals or farm animals do not deserve to be totally out of their element and neglected! This thing should be shut down by the Human Society! Please do not show them any support. It is sickening!

Justie Klein

No animals out. Kids sad

Thomas Eaton

Jesse Neil

The staff here was over the top friendly which is way nice for a quick pit stop. Small but awesome place to see a variety of animals and pet them. I was there for quite a while and never saw anyone around the petting zoo including no workers. I saw no water and the Animals pens were very dry and hot. Animals also looked hungry and not taken care of. I feel bad for these animals and this should be reported.

I have stopped here every time on my way to Idaho from California in the last 4 years and I can say my experience has been a great one every time. I can tell there have been improvements that benefit not only the visitor but most of all the well being of the creatures that inhabit the letting zoo. Wednesday the camel seemed happy and the baby goats were happy and rumbungiius; the alpacas and llamas seemed happy too. Great experience and worth a stop for ice cream and petting time .
