This Zoo is classified in the category of Zoo.
For me best part is the Grandma's house, which is a very authentic place, designed as Tibetan House, also learn the history of the little flags, above the place.
It was cold but worth it. ^_^
Great "Zoo" day !! Finally saw the Red Pandas Up Close !!
The snow leopards are beautiful and stunning. I always hope to catch a glimpse of their green eyes
Cool cats. Kids loved it
Great little zoo!
We visited on a very hot day but they had large fans and mist blowing to help cool off. Only complaint is we didn't see many animals there because it was so hot some animals were not in their outdoor exhibits
Always love visiting the Hogle zoo. We have SEASON passes which saves us a lot if $$. The zoo is clean, the animals are very well cared for. The habitats are very well done and give plenty of space to the animals.
I think how they set up hogle zoo is awesome if course this is one area of the whole experience. What they have done is experience sections of the world from Asia to Africa to america to Antarctica I loved the zoo within a zoo it was a great opportunity for the kids to experience to ask questions of the animals within that region what makes them unique. Of course the red panda
Alittle hard to view some of the animals but a great time!
It was a cold and rainy day, and the tigers were very active, along with the Amur Leopards, Red Pandas, and Lynxes. The living spaces for the animals strike a balance of making them visible while being humane and giving them enough space to roam. The informational placards are just enough to let you know about the animals and want to do more to conserve them -- this is a great part of the zoo.
It's better now that the new Tiger is more active. The Red Panda is really cute. As always the Leopard pacing us fun.
The polar bear exhibit is fantastic. Try to be there for a feeding.
Great experience. Animal habitats are enjoyable for both residents and visitors.
Cool exhibits.
Love the polar bears
The red panda is the cutest thing I've ever seen. Asian Highlands is beautiful and so much fun. I purchased the family membership and it's the best money I have ever spent. We can go at a very easy pace and just go back again another day to see the other attractions. I loved feeding the giraffe leaves! So much fun.
Fun Fun Fun. Did i metion it was fun?
Everything has been updated each exhibit is tailored to each animal so beautiful we had a great time with the family!
Much better than the Zoo of my childhood in the 80's. The Asian Highlands specifically are one of the largest improvements at the Zoo. Sooo much better than those sad cement cages. It feels like the animals are happy and enjoying their habitats. The keepers I've spoken to are knowledgeable and passionate. Definitely an enjoyable experience for adults as well as kids
The Hogle Zoo has done so much to make these animals feel at home. Mind you, I don't support captivity for any animal but the ones that can't thrive in the wild deserve a nice place to retire and the Hoogle Zoo is the best place for those animals.
Good experience to bring little kids
Amazing
We love the Hogle zoo. We have been season pass holders for 5 years. The red panda exhibit is awesome.
No tigers :(
We love the zoo and Asian Highlands is one of our favorites, especially since they opened the Red Panda exhibit
We love to bring the kids! 1st thing in the am is best (ssshh).
Not the biggest zoo ever, but it is a nice place to take kids.
Great small zoo. All the animals are well cared for and appear happy. Enjoyed walking around and speaking with the caretakers.
Asian Highlands is always our favorite stop at the zoo. The red panda display is great. The big cats are fantastic.
Asian highlands is one of the funnest parts of the zoo. You will almost always see the snow leopard and jaguar and all through the winter the red panda are active and adorable.
Animals seem very happy and the staff is delightful.
Meer cats are awesome!
The animals are very well cared for and the shows are fantastic plus the staff are always friendly and knowledgeable
Love the bear exhibit. Our you see the sea lions, bring a coin, drop it by the water window, and you will get their undivided attention.
They have made so many changes over the years! They continue to improve the quality for these animals.
Love going there
Cute and fun to watch
Really cool! The food place up there has good food.
So much family fun good price
The chicken and tater tots were delicious. The atmosphere was delightful as we ate our lunch and enjoyed watching the red pandas play in their exhibit.
Love the Red Pandas, most of the cats were pretty active
The last Wednesday of the month is free admission, and I took full advantage! The lions napped right in front of the glass, and we saw the Zebra babies running and playing! The elephants put on a show a few times a day with their trainers. They’ll paint and climb and it’s so fun to watch! I love this zoo and I’m lucky it’s so close by.
I live the Asian highlands at the zoo. Hogle zoo has done much over the last 10 years to improve the enclosures for the animals. There are lots fewer cats now so the the ones they do have can have large enclosures with a natural habitat instead of the old cement cages. I love the new red pandas that were added this year. They are very cute.
A well organized and beautiful area of the Hogle Zoo
Love taking the kids here.
Loved it
So much fun! And the people who work there are wonderful, I had such a great time!
The shows are always fun.
There were allot of empty cages
Cute animals
Really good for the kids
Nice zoo, not too big , not too small. Fun train to ride and lots of animals to see
It's a fun place to me with your Children long drive though and parking can be hard
It was really fun, but we could beraly see the animals. A lot of them where hiding.
Go every year with the hole family
It was nice I wished I could of seen the cats
Wonderful experiences. Creative displays and very informative.
Always love the zoo here. It's clearly making money because it's expanding and cleaning up nicely. They had zookeepers and volunteers at nearly every exhibit to answer questions and tell neat facts. Specifically in this section, they have a few new momma kitties. Bonus, the tigers we're awake also.
It was cool to see.
Always great to see a jaguar gnawing on some meat.
We got a year pass because we love going. The bird show is fantastic. My kids love the carousel. The statues are almost as fun as seeing the actual animals.
This is a place where imagination truly comes to life!!
I love the wild cats
Red pandas and tigers
Didn't know Asian highlight existed
I love hoogle zoo! It's a super fun place!
It’s a destination you need to visit if you have kids or love animals or quality time with great people. I love the Zoo!!!
The Asian Highlands are always a highlight of the zoo! The red pandas are very active.
My favorite part of the zoo
The Hogle Zoo is pretty fun. We have the family pass so we get unlimited rides on the carousel and I believe the train. We also get 10 percent off anything we buy there. We usually spend anywhere from 2 to 4 hours here. Today when we went they fed the elephants and it was super cute to watch them stand up, spray water and trumpet. I'm only eating this 5 stars because I have been to the zoo in Los Angeles, CA and it is a lot better. However this zoo is fun entertainment for my kids and they seem to treat their animals well.
Was really cool to see zoo light and the animals
Hard to get up the hill but it has a nice area with mist and shade. Also has tables and umbrellas to stop for lunch or a snack.
Crowded but fun
AWESOME display
Beautiful cats in the Asian Highlands. The new cub is growing so quickly. The great variety of cats are beautiful to see. I love that as the weather is cooler, the cats are a little more active during the day.
We went late morning which seemed to be the perfect time to go to the Asian Highlands at Hogle Zoo. The fall weather was cool with a light wind. We also didn’t have to fight with huge crowds. Both the Amur Leopard and tiger were active and moving. They had just fed the tiger a rabbit and it was incredibly fascinating watching the tiger first strip the fur off with his raspy tongue and then dig into his meal. We watched the leopard pace back and forth. The spots and coloring are gorgeous.
Amazing collection of animals in a pristine setting.
Great experience.
The zoo sucked for my Grandkids first time not too many animals and the wart hog they are advertising was not even there lil kids hope gone and to spend that type of money and they close at 6pm really before it would take all day now like i said no hippos gaters snakes what....am I really paying for ...
Awesome setup and creatively out together and helps with the viewing experience of the animals.
I always love the hogle zoo. It is one of our favorite family destinations. Passes are affordable $89 for two people. $150 for a family pass. The playground and splash pad are awesome, but the splash pad usually doesn't open until summer. They have kid shows that are engaging and fun. The kids got to pet an armadillo. The bird shows are lengthy , but cute. We love the elephant shows with the cool tricks. The lion feedings are super cool, and they have the lions do cool tricks. It is super fun to see Nora and Hope the polar bears swim in the water. There is a cute baby giraffe this year. There are some baby zebras too.
Great place to see the "big cats." We especially love the leopards and the new baby Pallas Cats.
Great park too bad there isn't more land
This area of the Hogle Zoo is a must-see. The big cats are always out and about and there are plenty of viewing places to see them all. Plus, we LOVE the new red pandas and their enclosure. They're always active and climbing about. You can see them from the front area, the side, and from above. Highly recommend walking around the Asian Highlands when you're here at the Hogle Zoo.
Incredible experience of a lifetime. Awesome staff.
The zoo is the zoo no need to review! The zoo is always good times however Zoolights at the Salt Lake Hogle Zoo is an absolute waste of money!
My family absolutely loves the zoo, it has gotten so so so much better from when I was a child...
I live the Red Pandas
It was fun.
We come here multiple times throughout the year and it's been great every time. The people are nice, animals well taken care of, decent fair admission price. Free for 2 and under. You can walk there entire thing in an hour if you're fast. Lots of food and drink and activities. Kids loved the little splash pad area too. Bring swimming clothes!
Took the grandson. Great!
Loved seeing everything
Do you love animals...? Do you love Asian animals even more? Well then, do walk over to the Asian Highlands area and enjoy some Panda, Tiger, and other awesome excitement! The panda bears were shy when we visited the zoo and we missed them - dang!
People need to learn respect, and the zoo needs more staff to handle unruly guests. Tired of people knocking on the glass and yelling in quiet areas. However, the lower rating is because of the lack of care shown to many of the animals. Today we watched an elephant eat a post Bernstein they aren't fed enough.
Love the zoo so much!
Nice local zoo. The animals seem well cared for.
Great place so many fun animals, wonderful zoo workers to help you give you new information.when we were there we got to feel a polor bears coat which was pretty cool
It was so fun
Loved our visit to Hogle Zoo. It was late in the day by the time we got to the Asian Highlands so the cats were a bit sleepy, but what cat isn’t sleepy. We loved how everything was setup and how close we could get to the animals. It was a great experience to be sure.
This place is quite delightful. Seeing the big cats, the small cats and the red pandas, is a lot of fun with children.
The zoo has done great with the red panda exhibit.
Quiet and interesting
The Asia exhibit is definitely the best
The Free flight bird show was spectacular.
Love it
First time and Loved every moment !
Very nice. It's cool, being able to get so close to the red panda, snow leopard, and more.
Cute animals
Nice place but overpriced food
Lots of animals that you won't see around here. Active when it's hot.
It was a pleasant day nice all in all
Great place for family and kids even the young ones.
It was a bit smaller than I thought it would be, but iver all it had a great selection of animals to see. The polar bears we're playing so that was fun.
They have really improved the zoo; parks, walkways and different animals. Great place for a family activity or date night.
A great addition to the zoo
Always great. We love taking our kids, they ride the train and we stop for lunch in their cafe. The animals seem to be in good spirits around September when the temperatures drop a bit. They also do Zoo Lights around December and Halloween decorations for October.
Such active animals
My boys love seeing the tigers and other cats. They were being pretty lazy though. Seeing them and all the other animals when it's cooler outside makes for a better trip to the zoo.
Love this place. The new baby is so cute!! They have so many big cats to see! The red pandas are usually out playing as well.
The carousel was fun
Feel bad the cats don't have more room
Hot days, animals relaxing.
The Zoo is a decent one. The animals are fun to look at.
Exotic animals you don't see every day
I love going in the winter. The cats are active and no one is there!!
Try to go when it's bot to busy. You'll enjoy it better. But it's cool
This was really cool. My daughter loved the snow leopard and he was really active when we were there.
Absolutely so gorgeous. The tigers were active and the red pandas were eating so happily
This part of the zoo is fun, but always crowded. The cats can sometimes be hard to see in their habitats, depending on when you're there. The cats also sleep like 20 hours per day so it's more than likely that they'll be asleep if you're there in the middle of the day.
Nice part of the hogle zoo
The Asian Highlands is my son's favorite area in the zoo! The animals and building designs are awesome!
It was great to have our picture taken for memory of tonight thanks
The zoo is one of our favorites family outings... Always a wild adventure
Watching the zebras is always a delight!
My kid loves the zoo
Grandkids would stay for hours watching giraffes. Fun to feed them also
Loved the kitty's
Gotta go in the morning. Cats are alert and moving around. Beautiful area to visit at the zoo.
The zoo needs at least 1 smoking section to ensure the continued joy of people, instead of unhappy smokers full of anxiety.
What an amazing interaction. This place is outstanding. Well cared for happy animals and clean enclosures wish we lived closer this would be a weekly thing for us. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Answered all of our questions and helped point out some animals we didn't see at first
Love it. Bit expensive but worth it.
Love Asian Highlands. The animals are majestic.
The hoggle zoo is wonderful
Tigers are cool
Love the zoo. So clean and beautiful
Gorgeous and rare cats plus the cute red pandas. Best time to go is right after zoo opens or right before it closes. Don't miss it!
it was very nice
Many of the animals weren't there, but the ones that we did see were very cool.
This is a great addition to the zoo. The red panda exhibit is easily my wife's favorite, and they have a new leopard kitten that was pretty adorable to watch playing with it's mother.
Please note, my review is for the Zoo and not the cost which is WAY TOO MUCH in my opinion for what you get. The zoo itself has a very nice selection of animals and if you go during the winter the crowds are kept at bay making the experience more enjoyable. My kids loved the "kitties" in the small animals building and it's always fun to watch the sea lions and polar bears. If it's been years since you've been, I like the more "natural" exhibits they have compared to the cage rooms of old. The play place with slides, rope bridges, boats, etc will keep your little ones entertained for quite a while if they need a break from looking at animals.
Beautiful addition for the animals.
Love the red panda. Aka the firefox
I remember this part of the zoo being awesome. Maybe I was young and just ok was amazing back then. But I remember it being a lot better. I don't think they have upgraded since I was a kid. What ever happened to Sasta the liger. Dead I know but they used to have a picture and story. At least work on breeding another one. Time for a remodel for sure.
The tigers and cats are wonderful!
Nice part of the zoo
All the exhibits are so much better than they used to be. More viewing areas for the visitors and more territory for the animals.
It's got Tigers and Leopards and a Siberian Lynx and Pallas Cats. There's a cool Tibetan motif going on with the prayer flags, makes it feel exotic.
Getting a little dated except for the Red Pandas.
Loved the animals.. prices for stuff is ridiculous like every entertainment place.
