REVIEWS OF Caldwell Zoo IN Texas

Brian Hartsfield

Just a great, peaceful walk. Fed the fish, ducks, geese and turtles. Plenty of benches to take a load off, fans in some places. The mister in the bird walkabout was refreshing and kept my date's allergies to dust at bay. I suggest visiting the animals in the cooler morning hours before the heat starts to kick in, not so much for yourself, but because the critters tend to lay in the shade and not be very active once the sun beats down.

Cliff Williams

We had a pretty great time at the zoo. It used to be free but now they charge about $14. Everything seems new and fresh. The employees are attentive and kind. The animals are displayed well and the hike is nice. Not many food places were open on this Sunday and not many people were in attendance.

Carlos Leguizamo

North Tyler's crown jewel is by far the Caldwell zoo. You can access this amazing place via blue line and is around a few places to eat. I had not been here in about a decade and I glad I came. Me and my lovely lady had a splendid day looking at all the exhibits. We got to play with a few colorful parakeets and fees the giraffes. Prices are pretty reasonable and they have memberships for the year. They have a good court which is a nice little treat and it's not crazy expensive. I will be back.

Presley Miller

What a neat neat place and all I can say is those giraffes wow how cool is being able to pet a giraffe at eye level never thought that would be something they would offer. And I mean that snake exhibit Lord Jesus I've never seen a water moccasin that closed in my life and I'm just so thankful that it was locked behind very thick glass

Adrianna Hill

It is so spectacular! The animals are very well cared for and awe inspiring. It truly is lions and (white) tigers and bears omy! We have been multiple times and it never gets old.

MtryDoc

Great place to spend some time with the kids. We are members and go adleast once a month

Lacy Marks

I really loved how large natural looking the enclosures where. We did the whole park in about 2 hours with me on a knee scooter. We would definitely go back.

Mahlon Hammetter

Very nice zoo. Kids really enjoyed feeding the parakeets in the bird house.

Meagan Taylor

The best zoo I've been too. They have open exhibits for most of the animals.

Bill Anz

Family really enjoyed our visit to the Caldwell Zoo. Was extremely surprised to find out it's over twice as large as our local San Antonio Zoo because the enclosures and paths made it feel significantly smaller. Many enclosures feature several types of animals and are designed so the animals appear to be kept together. Best example if this was the "Savannah" enclosure. The enclosures are well laid out along the path and many animals are very close. While not exhibiting as many species as our zoo we enjoyed the animals and saw many our zoo doesn't have and enjoyed seeing them in more natural enclosures. I typically don't notice, or care, about landscaping/design but thought the Caldwell Zoo made good use of the land and actually noticed the flowers and trees used both in enclosures and public spaces that added to the enjoyable experience. Camera pooped out and was only able to use front camera, sorry about that. Also this zoo has reciprocal agreements with other zoos, San Antonio Zoo being one of them. As members of our zoo we qualified for discount admissions.

Alesha Norris

We really enjoyed bringing my 4yr old here! The cafe was great last year, but now it is overpriced and the taste doesn't match. The cafe used to give little zoo buckets with the kids meals, but they gave us a paper sack this time. That was disappointing. But the walk about with the birds was fun! The birds fly right up to you! The animals were great as well. My son's favorite was feeding the giraffes because he got to feed the baby one. Overall a great experience! But bring your own lunch.

Outlaw Trucker

One of the better zoos. Really cool animals and good prices. They do have military discounts. But if. You go to the very back by the wild bird area there is a secret underground tunnel. You have to look under the giant oak tree. Inside this tunnel is a secret passage back In time to the dark ages. Good luck. There is no coming back thru that portal

Rebekka von Scheiße

This place isn't the same since you have to pay to get in. Well, I guess I should say, it's almost exactly like it was years ago when it was free. Poor, half-crazed animals in small spaces, pacing back and forth. Same exhibits. Some improvements, but not enough to justify that admission price. Maybe I'll go back in a few years and see if it's any better.

Fedor Weems

Beautiful zoo, the bird building is my favorite. Little birds fly around you and you can get some feeding sticks to feed them. Really fun!

Annaleigh Breeden

My favorite small zoo. Parking is free. Shaded picnic area outside the zoo near the parking lot.

Oatik Oneshot

It is nicely laid out and have a fair amount of animals. Sort of small for the price they charge. I am a zoo member of another location and the discount I receive made it reasonable.

David Montes

I love it. Nice place to viait with your family ❤

betty moss

Just wish we had more time to spend but there was employee party.

Benjamin Rhodes

Animals up close and friendly staff. Good place to bring animal loving kids. Feed the giraffes for $5, birds for a $1 and pet the goats for free. Personally I like the elephants and white tiger.

Robert Haynes

Zoo is always clean. It's a good time.

Chris Broussard

Very laid back and inexpensive! You can see the whole park in one visit without rushing around.

Clint Whitsell

Took our kids to the zoo Saturday and we had a good time but 20oz drinks are 3 dollars a piece so get hydrated.

Amber Gutierrez

Nice zoo for a small town lots to see.

Chelsea Daugherty

My son had the best time at the Caldwell zoo! everything is very close together and easy to find

Dr. Lazarus

Very clean for a zoo and the staff here are really nice. Lots to see and do, I recommend this zoo for families of all sizes.

Elightra Aguilar

Absolutely our favorite zoo! It has everything you'd want to see plus great shade so you didn't overheat

Joey Gonzalez

I was really impressed with this zoo. The interactive exhibits were a ton of fun and all the animals were easy to see. Soo much better than the Dallas zoo!

Matthew Givens

Decent for the price, my granddaughters love to see the animals, and feed the giraffe.

jon howell

Great zoo. Saturday was pretty crowded and not many monkeys, gorilla or coon dog, but otherwise, great zoo. Lots birds and cool exhibits. I'll go back

saruem Velasquez

I enjoyed the experience to see all the animals and walk around with my family. It defenetly family friendly and fun for everyone of any age. I would go for every special occasion to the zoo.

Josh Crow

I love this place! One of the best Zoos in Texas, if not the US! There are not TV screens all over detracting from the peacefulness and joy! Love it =)

Mely Sanchez

We went on a Tuesday at 9:15am got To see it with less crowds and left at 2pm, includes a picnic with the family.if you eat at the cafe you can spend $9-13 bucks each person on a full meal, u can also keep cool with snow cones $1.99and up .To feed the giraffes cost $5.00 it worth it tho , since u get to feed it and the money u spend is used to keep up with the giraffes.u also have the bird area u pay $1.00 to have a stick of food to feed them. Best thing is they dnt finish the food so when your done u can share it with those coming in or that don't have a stick of food and they to can have a good experience..

Wanda Fouse

Excellent little zoo. Well kept. Go every year with my grandchildren

Suzanne Rischard

Got there right as they opened up this morning all the animals were nice and active.

Kristie Munson

Small zoo but perfect. Most of it was shady, which is great on hot days. I loved feeding the giraffe. I'm not local but I would come back.

Connie Bevers

Animals was all sleeping that was no elephants no giraffes very disappointed in the animal that were there they were not active at all. Was not worth $14.50 to get in but the rose moss in the flower pots in front of the building was beautiful.

bear hilliard

Great layout easy to walk around and see everything without back tracking . Cafeteria area seating over looks all the elephants and other animals from Africa.

Dacy Bost Perez

Took my daughter to Caldwell once again, and the educational experience is wonderful for a smaller style zoo. They have some wonderful animals and a lot of staff that are great at talking to you about the animals if you have any questions. I've yet to have a bad time at Caldwell. Truly worth the trip.

Darlene Crank

Beautiful zoo. The walkways are tree covered so the heat is not oppressive

April Edwards

Love the updates they have made. Love that you can feed the giraffes!!

Laura Burson

We really had a great time! I loved feeding the birds (I think they were parakeets) and the giraffe! The cafe and souvenir shop were reasonably priced. There's lots of shade and places to sit and rest while you're walking around. They really did a great job making the most of the space they have at the zoo.

Jeremy Brigalia

Very family friendly! Feeding camel cost $5 which was the most I have ever paid for 3 pieces of lettuce but the experience was worth it. Feeding the birds was less expensive at $1. Side note Texas citizens you ROCK every place I went everyone was so nice! We didn’t bring cash only card someone gave us a dollar to feed the birds. My little boy cannot thank you enough!

Cassie Carter

Great for quick trip. Smaller zoo, doesn't take all day to walk and see animals!

Rafael Gonzalez

Great zoo! The zoo itself isn't a huge place, but it is well put together. Highly recommend stopping by to look at it. The Africa exhibit is amazing. They even have a place where you can feed a Giraffe!

Issac Terry

This was such an amazing experience for me and my family. The zoo offered a multitude of options from indoor exhibits as well as outdoor. The key for me was the bird’s nest where you were able to be up close and personal with the birds and feed them. It easily maintained my toddler’s attention throughout its entirety. Easy to navigate and clean facilities. We will be back to this area one day.

Jacob Sumrall

Its small, but fairly nice for what it is. 12.95 is a bit steep for entry considering it only takes about an hour to see everything. They redesigned the layout which is nice, but I wish they could update some of the animal selection and signs around the zoo.

Some_Random _Mexican

Really nice seeing animals from different parts of the world. I never thought I would see an actual cheetah in person until the day I went

Belinda Curry

Great trip and Remmie loved feeding the birds!

Bobby Garcia

Well worth the price of admission! Great place with great animals. Bring a hat if you go in the summer months!

Gailya Sands

Great time at this nice zoo. It was a pleasure to see all the animals. Will definitely go back. Everything was well kept, and the personell was very friendly.

Kidron Cummings

Lots of fun! Lots of shade! The animals were easy to see. They all looked happy and healthy. Great outing .

Amy Barber

Great FT with our school. Plenty of picnic space, not too crowded. We will go back for sure.

AJ Joseph

This is a truly great small zoo. They have most of the big animals you would want to see - elephants, giraffes, lions, tiger, rhino, etc. The park is a great size, takes about 2 hrs to walk around and enjoy it. Nice shaded pathways. Really a great place to spend half a day with the family!

Rachael Dollins

We always enjoy visiting new zoos. We were told this was an excellent zoo, but compared to others, it is quite small, but played out to look large. There are no monkeys, such as chimpanzees, Gorillas, etc. Most of the animals were put away for the winter. There are a lot of birds that make up this zoo. I also was not happy seeing how small these enclosures are for the larger animals. The Tigers had no place to really run or play, same with the female lions. There are no Male lions. The elephants, zebras and giraffes have larger enclosures, but they are all separated. Still visit if you have never been, it is worth seeing the zoo.

Allen Worcester

Surprisingly good collection for a small city. Cheaper than most big zoos but still has a lot to offer. White tiger is definitely the most unique.

color guard

Always have a great time here. Nice exhibits and the scenery throughout is beautiful. Nice little zoo. My family loves it.

Danyelle Ashcraft

So much fun for kids!!! You can feed giraffes, see cool animals, eat till your stuffed, and even still squash a penny into a memory peny for 50 cents! Its a little on the pricey side but oh my God its so worth it!!!

Carolyn Robinson

A great zoo that doesn't wear you out to take your family to. Arranged in a good way with good paths throughout and good ramps for the handicapped. Helpful staff that her questions before we even ask them and gave us answers throughout the park.

David Peterson

A great little zoo. The layout is fantastic and the environments they have for the animals are spectacular

Bryan Jones

Beautiful grounds. Most animals have lots of space.

Joy McGuire

Great place for children... Too much walking not enough animals though

Christina Fox

Animals are active. Typically takes our family of 4 about 2 to 3 hours to explore. We enjoy the facilities.

Jeff McGuffee

We were there, today, and loved it! The staff was fantastic! The grounds were very well maintained! We would not hesitate to come back!

G Black

Cool atmosphere for families and group gathering.... Picnic lunches are also idea here. ➕ it's great for exercising or getting your steps in my

Tommy Harris

We drove an hour and a half to get to the zoo from out town. We relied on the pricing on the web site as $10.95 for 55 and older and $8.95 for children. When we got there they charged $12.50 for seniors and $10.50 for the kids. Very misinformed on the web site under questions asked regarding pricing. We then toured the zoo and this was not our first time. We decided to go to the Tyler zoo rather than the Dallas or Ft. Worth zoo but the charge almost as much as the big city zoos and do not have the selection. While we were very impressed when we last went we were disappointed this time as there were several things closed and the others had only one animal in them. Only one elephant, two old rhinos one standing in a corner and hard to see and the other separated and laying down at a distance. No gorillas, no large monkeys, only three female lions and no male. Appears the selection has greatly been depleted. Disappointing especially with what is there for the pricing.

Jeanine Weiss

Great little zoo to enjoy a few hours at. You can bring a picnic lunch or eat there. Wheelchair/stroller accessible. Make sure your phone is charged for awesome pictures. Don't forget to feed the birds!!!

Shailyn Takos

Just went here today with my family. The staff was incredibly friendly. The grounds were beautifully upkept. The exhibits and layout were excellent with no need to backtrack, and the groups of animals in the pens were ingenious, maxing out the multitude of different species you can see while making good use of the space they have. We will be returning!

phillip mirick

We love this zoo! It is not the biggest but for the area it is a great way to spend a few hours. They have overnight camps, summer camps and have worked with my scout group on many occasions. They set up a class for then to earn badges. We always get a year pass. If you live in the area GO!

Levi Hardy

Really nice zoo. We love it everytime we go.

Goregasm x'D

I've been coming to this place since i was a child and it never ceases to excite or amaze me. May it be the kid in me or just the fact that i love nature and all that dwells within it. Who knows? But i can tell you that its a great place to bring your kids for a walk and to learn so much. Each exhibit having information about all the animals within that unit. The food is an eh. I ordered a rather large burger with bacon and was a little disappointed but it still tasted alright. But honestly who wouldve thought lions and tigers and bears is definitely an "oh my" but in a good way.

Catarina Alegria

Loved this zoo. Beautiful animals especially the white tiger. And the giraffes

William Richards

It's a great place for a family day of fun!

Estrella Martinez

Awesome place to go! Front office staff was extremely rude. As soon I got to the window they seemed annoyed & weren’t even looking at me. They were on there phones the whole time. Besides that what a beautiful & clean place!

Todd Lockman

Great place to vist before going back to school. Plus best patio view for lunch in east texas.

Dannette Brown

We absolutely loved this zoo! You can tell they take great pride in this place. Open exhibits and they help and allow you to interact with the animals every chance they get. Highly recommend!!

Jason Brumley

We had a great time wondering around this nice zoo in Tyler, Texas. They have fantastic looking animals in nice enclosures. They have a nice variety of animals so there's lots of stuff to see. We will definitely be back to enjoy this more often.

Wayne Woodle

Fantastic day to spend with the kiddos. If you're fairly local, its better to just spend the 60 for the season pass. Food is a bit expensive but no more than at any other place like this.

Jocelyn Marshall

Overall a nice zoo.. the experience is what you make it for sure. Animals aren’t all that lively but they never are. Always a good go to spot when you have to make last minute plans for your kids. The cafe staff is always amazing.

Franchot Thomas

A little challenging 4 seniors but a real nice Zoo

Andrew Young

Awesome zoo. My wife and I bought family passes for the year after our first visit. We love going to the Caldwell zoo with our kids!

Casey Gildon

It was good, just need to go when it's not so Hot!!! And it smells horrible outside around some of the animals. Other than that it was nice!

Morgan Feng

Wonderful zoo with lots of shade. Great avairy full of birds you can feed. Our family loved it!

Debbie McMullin

Go to the zoo several times a year to take my great granddaughter. It’s a small zoo but she absolutely loves it. She loves the birdhouse and feeding the birds and she really really loved feeding the giraffe! This Zoo is walkable in about three hours, great if you have a little ones. There is a snack bar. You will have to pay extra for the lettuce for the giraffe and to feed the birds, but it’s reasonable.

Jill i

Beautiful zoo! The whole African experience is wonderful. Giraffe, lions, elephants, rhinos. The open space is wonderful to see

Matt Spruill

This place is wonderful. The giant African plains exhibit was great. A huge field full of zebra, giraffes, wart hogs, etc. The air conditioned penguin & aquarium exhibit has windows that look out to the plains. I was really impressed! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars that a few exhibits were understandably closed for maintenance & the lack of any great apes. The zoo really needs some gorillas, chimps, & orangutans but everything else about the zoo is awesome :)

chad rose

Decent time of year to visit. Summer blows, most animals hide during the hot months. Don't blame them getting out of this Texas heat

Dana Boss Queen McDaniel

Lovely, beautiful sites! The animals are gorgeous! Great if you're looking for a workout or if you're trying to tire out your kids! Lots of walking and distractions and things too see!! Pretty good looking food also!

kenny campos

Man I like the this zoo. The prices were not bad roughly around $15 per adult and $12 per child. They sell food ice cream and the prices were not that bad large ice cream for $4. It did have a lot of animals to see. There was another section where you can pet the animals. Another section where you can throw food at them (you got to pay a quarter to feed the fish). It had a habitat for penguin snakes and birds. I really highly recommend you come see the zoo. just be warned I want when it was really hot so really dressed for the occasion it's not a terrible long walk. The bathrooms are clean.

Heather Mitchell

This zoo was amazing for such a small city. Wide variety of animal. Good places to eat and plenty of bathrooms. Animals were well kept. We were able to feed the giraffes. It wasn’t expensive and we had a blast. It was a perfect trip with small kids because it only took about 3 hours to tour.

Adi Adams

Came to this zoo and loved it! Animals are very well cared for. Best zoo ever

illegal_mexican_mobile

I like the zoo so much when I was 5 years old my dad and mom took me to the zoo and my brother was there I like to go to the zoo so much fun that I love it well

Zachary Aller

What a beautiful, well taken care of zoo. Much larger than we thought with all kinds of different animals. The exhibits are so open and you can get close to the animals. You can feed the parakeets, you can feed the giraffes at certain times. There is a small cafe with hotdogs, chicken nuggets, hamburgers, etc. With plenty of seating with a beautiful view of the large Africa enclosure. It's a great walk with shade. We bought Season passes for our whole family!

Greg Zoller

Fantastic park-like zoo with a great collection of interesting animals. I loved that the animals were very accessible and visible and that wherever possible the zoo put at least two of each kind in an enclosure so they aren’t lonely. Great visit!

crystal hebebrand

I love how this zoo has expanded over the years! They have really worked on exhibits to make better lives for the animals

Laura Williams

Disappointed barely any animals especially for the cost. Boring

ramona velasquez

My family and I had an awesome time the zoo had a lot of shade between exhibits as well as benches to sit and rest or just enjoy the view the employees are so kind and they make you feel welcome and they have the most clean restrooms every you know that whom ever cleans them takes grate pried in there job but the best was really the last when we were thanking the nice older lady that took our tickets when we came in truns to us and ask if my mother a disabled 81 year old lady needed a ride back to our car that really floored me I have been to many place and never come across people like the ones in this zoo the hospitality was amazing thank you to all especially the man that drove us to the car he was totally awesome I'm so friendly to my mother making her laugh ensure her safety was a priority again thank you all and God bless everyone of you the Velasquez Family

Alyssa Conklin

My kids had a wonderful time. Wish they had more animals to fill some of the empty areas but overall it was a wonderful experience we got to share with our kids

Dana Holland

Very welcoming! Best zoo! Everyone should visit at least once!

Paula Welch

Wonderful family outing not too far from home.

Petie Griffin

One of the greatest little big zoos in the state of texas. They have so many breeds of animals, but it is easy to get through the entire park in less than 4 hours. The highlight we found at this zoo is their African Savannah enclosure, with all of the major African animals - from zebras, giraffes, elephants, lions, and more - in the same grassland area, safely separated as needed of course. We also enjoyed the keeper talk as they fed their African penguins, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable and it's always great to watch happy penguins playing. All the enclosures were top notch and the layout was easy to navigate to walk by all the animals, with lots of shady areas to keep the Texas heat at bay. Parking is free and tickets were under $15. If you're in the area and looking for something fun, put this at the top of your list to visit!

Justin Wright

Awesome place to take the family. The animals are obviously well tended too. If you think you might get hungry I would advise not eating at the zoo. Two children's burgers with small fries and drinks. Two burgers and drinks for adults $35 and nothing fancy about the food.

colton scott

Very nice establishment. Wide variety of animals and great views of habitats. I like how it is set up and I always have a great time. Fun for all ages. You can feed the fish, birds and giraffes as a bonus there is also a petting zoo with goats. Always a great experience.

Gary France

Nice zoo in our area. Reasonable prices. A good variety of exhibits. Playground and petting area for the kids. Nice gift shop.

Makyna Freeland

We loved it but y’all need pandas, more alligators, more animals in the petting zoo freshwater in the habitats and at the waterFountain peacocks Wolfs sloths and swans gray fox red pandas Lepers Prairie dogs And we would give you 3 1/2 stars oh and hippos

Eve-marie Seidemann

This is great zoo, the habitats are full and nicely planned out. It is very much worth the trip out there!

Violet Smith

Very clean. Good selection of animals but the enclosures are extremely small. I understand there’s the matter of funding and space but seeing two tigers in a habitat that’s smaller than my apartment is depressing. Also, the red fox is going crazy. He’s pacing and running in repetitive patterns which is an obvious sign of stress. I’m not saying they don’t care but I would love to see this place expand. The signs need to be updated. Give the guests the animals names and statistics on their status in the wild and what they can do to to help.

keiana banks

It was my first time coming out here and I enjoyed it.

Marty Jones

Love taking my kids here. Animals are happy, food is ok but its what you would expect and the place is clean. Staff is very helpful. Had a little situation with my daughter and they were so helpful.

J. McAlister

Wonderful place to take the family! Kids loved it. It’s clean and well kept up. Very good selection of animals. We’ve been going for the last 20+ years and will continue to return.

Lindsey Kellis

Great little zoo. They have a little of everything. Impressive habitats.

Lulu Montes

Very wonderful zoo. My kids enjoyed it and were talking about it afterwards. Friendly employees as well.

S. Karina McBrayer

My kiddos love the adventure. The 10-11am timeframe is your best bet for a visit.

Mike Lohman

we had a great time beautiful I have been to a lot of zoos all over the country and this is one my now favorite

Melissa Williams

Always fun never a dull moment love these 3

Larissa Elvers

Lovely zoo. Quite impressed with the layout and design of the zoo. Intimate and has a lot of various animals. Loved the hippopotamus! We enjoyed our time and so did our 10-month old.

Jonathan Wadkins

Great place for the kids to learn about different animals and see the habitat in which they live clean mostly shaded with a breeze not that bad of a walk

Tamika Johnson

The kids always enjoy coming to see the animals. They each have a favorite and can follow the map to find it.

Amanda Land

We can not wait to go back to this zoo! the price is great, you get to fee birds & giraffes, its smaller but that makes it so much better!!! You get to see the animals instead of a lot of them being somewhere else. My boys could do the walk as opposed to them getting tired 1/2 way through and needing to be carried. The zoo is well maintained, nice and clean, and so so much fun! we can't wait to go back!

Ryan Castillo

A lot more animals than I expected! Very fun and informative!

Judy Taylor

Family totally enjoyed the visit. Must go often.

Robert Strong

Always enjoy the Caldwell Zoo. It's a great place to take the family. The grounds are well-maintained the animals appear to be taken care of very well. Many of that animals have great habitats. We ate lunch there and enjoyed the food.

Sheena Stevens

I haven't been there since I was a teen but I wanted to take my son so he could enjoy it like I did and it was a complete waste of time. In the petting zoo they used to have goats, sheep, pot belly pigs, and a jersey cow that would lick the kids when they started petting it...now they have maybe 5-8 goats and that's it. They have done gotten rid of all the little miniature deer looking critters, spider monkeys, the learning center where they would bring in baby animals teach you about them and then let kids hold and pet them, the big ginormous cat fish in the aquarium area, some of the rhinos they only have one, and they also use to have a big cage with parakeets and cockatiels and you could buy sticks with a bunch of bird seed stuck around it that you would hold up to em and they would eat it or they would land on your hand or wrist and eat it. I'm probably forgetting something else they done got rid of but they literally got rid of 75÷ of their animals and they gained 2 black bears. I honestly will never go back and don't recommend it to anyone else it is a waste of time and lots of money.

RJ Wilson

Always something fun to do. Membership is worth it if you have a little one for sure.

Giselle Juarez

I love the white tiger it has the male and female

C W Snippits

I have always enjoyed Caldwell Zoo, as far back as into the days of it having no admission fee. The bird section is quite smaller than years gone, but the new additions to the over all zoo are a plus. As children we use to set through church on Sunday as antsy as could be, ready to make the ride to Tyler and get those coconut and rainbow snow cones! It's a great family building time

Brandon Osborne

A nice small local zoo. To be honest I prefer it over some of the zoos in larger cities. The staff is friendly and the grounds are meticulously maintained. The food is a bit overpriced and definitely greasy but I don't come for the food. I look forward to and hope that it continues to grow and do well.

Shaunna Hyde

Great little zoo! Very shady. Perfect for hot days!

Paws and lillth

We came to the zoo and had a blast, but if the zoo was built better then we would love it

Chidimma O’K

Very beautiful selection of animals; some like the anteater, black rhinoceros, so many of the birds and white tigers we were seeing for the first time ever. My kids were so excited, especially because they got to feed the giraffes. We’ll definitely return when we come back to Tyler.

Joe Khan

Excellent family fun. Great prices and very nice zoo keepers. As always the animals are very well taken care of. They all look very relaxed.

Rebekah Lane

Love this zoo! Been going here my whole life

Anastasia Aurora

I mean such a great place to take your kiddos. It's always clean and fun & their food is yummy if you didn't get a chance to pack a picnic. Love Caldwell zoo

sara long

We go here at least 2 times a year. The animal are generally out and about and the kids can really learn from the different selection they have. Feeding the giraffes is so unique but my favorite is the penguins! They are so incredible and it's a joy to watch them being fed, I would so work here!

Chris Stephens

It's a really fun medium sized zoo. You could totally go through the whole thing in one day. My 15 month old loved the Lions and giraffes.

Matti Harris

Very nice zoo with lots of fun things to do and see. You can feed the little bird inside the bird area birdseed on a stick for $1 as well as feed the giraffe lettuce for $5. We enjoyed doing both.

Shane Campbell

It was fun, line was long but didn't take too long! But it's pricey,, as in tickets!!! A child's ticket is 8 dollars and some change. An adult ticket is 12 dollars and some change. But we had fun!! It was during my oldest daughters field trip!

Domanique Rodriguez

Came here as a kid, and they have only expanded since then. It's a little pricey but well worth it. You get to feed the giraffes too.

Lakeshia Rice

Too many birds for me I was looking forward to seeing more of the larger animals. My two year old enjoyed himself so that was satisfying for me.

Liz Swaim

Family membership is about 125$ for a year of non stop visits. Bring you sunscreen and eater to enjoy a hot sweety day outside looking at the marvelous creates God made while smelling animal poop cook under the sun.

John Lowery

I love this zoo. I have been coming here since I was a baby and am now 35. It is small but there are just enough attractions to make it worth your while. I wouldn't recommend the food as it is expensive, but you can make a great day out of this place.

Elizabeth Allen

Small and efficient zoo. Great for young kids

Audrey Johnson

I love this place. Now you cab feed the giraffes for only 5 dollars! And i love their animals

Loved getting to see the animals. Have to get there early in the day to avoid the heat but that means some of the animals are still resting. Lots of shady areas. Clean restrooms. Cafe was decent price wise and a fair amount of variety. Had the loaded nachos. They were good, but the chunks of onion were rather large and a tad overpowering. Overall a good trip. The little ones liked it but got hot quickly. Next time will definitely stop at the gift shop first for a couple personal fans.

I've always loved the Caldwell Zoo. I really enjoyed the Wild Bird Walk-around. Being able to feed birds was a pretty fun experience.

Thank for an amazing day, it was our grandchildren’s first trip to the zoo and they loved it. I highly recommend an early day so you can see all the animals and help feed them breakfast. My 3 yr old grandson loved feeding the giraffe and the other grandson n granddaughter loved the bird sanctuary. It was everything we prayed for in the day.

Disappointed. No penguins. No otters like they use to have. It was great for my 3 year old granddaughter. But for someone who has visited multiple times in the past, I was very disappointed. I don't mind paying, if we get to see what we pay to see. I won't be back anytime soon.

Animals are happy--well taken care of. Gardeners are amazing. I enjoyed the landscaping as much as the animals! Some beautiful plants. Clean

What a great place, just the right size and such a nice walk. The zoo was so clean and green.

We always make time to stop when traveling thru Tyler. This is a great little zoo. You can feed giraffe and birds which is alot of fun. I've been going to this zoo for the last 20 years and will continue.

Great for families or adult outings. We went for my 30th birthday. A bit warm (because of East Texas) and you need cash for most of the vending machines (though there are water fountains and a cafe). But the animals seem well cared for and the grounds are very clean.

Janet Tyler

Always a great time and the animals were more active than usual.

I've taken so many people here multiple times. Their animals are in good shape and seem well kept and happy. You can feed the giraffes lettuce for $5 for three or four stalks of lettuce. A great place for all ages. Their gift shop is expansive and has all sorts of stuffed animals and knick knacks for both the zoo itself and the Texas area. The terrain is just a bit hilly but shouldn't be too much for anyone.
