Right now the firm has a score of 4.7 out of 5 and this score has been based on 361 reviews.
You may have noticed that the average score it has is almost the best one, and it's based on a very high number of feddbacks, so we may conclude that the rating is very reliable. If people have bothered to value when they've done well with the business, it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to put opinions when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Zoo is included in the category of Zoo.
I wish I had known about this place sooner. Take your kids here!! This place is wonderful. We loved being able to get close to the animals and even feed them. Great place to take the kids and we will definitely be returning. I don’t foresee us going to the zoo anymore now that we know of the little ponderosa zoo!!! Kids really loved this place.
This place is awesome. My family and I went there for "boo at the zoo" instead of going to the Knoxville zoo. The animals are well taken care of and the facility is clean. The owner is very nice and friendly. The prices are very reasonable. I would recommend the Little Ponderosa Zoo and Rescue to any animal loving family.

Nasty smells very bad
We didn’t know this place existed! It’s cost efficient and friendly.
My daughter and I love this zoo. It's a chance to get close to animals that other zoos don't have. The animals are treated well and the employees care for them. We love feeding the baby goats.
Our first visit but it will not be the last. You can tell the animals are well taken care of.
This place is amazing! Made friends with the camel. We did not want to leave.
We drove 2 hour to get to such a great hidden jewel!!! It took us about 2 hours to go thru the entire zoo and we had so much fun feeding the animals!! Baby goats escaped from the big pin (it’s normal) and followed us around my 5 year old and 1 year old loved how up close and personal they were able to get with the animals!! My favorite was the camels. Their lips felt so funny in my hands. Get the big bucket of feed. I can’t wait to go back after they get rebuilt from the devastating fire.
Really sweet place. You can feed the animals. A lot of them will also let you pet them. Great place for the family.
Great place a great opportunity to see cool animals
I have nothing but good things to say about this place. They are always doing good deeds.
First time going and we loved it my daugther and us had a blast you get to feed and interact with them so worth going best zoo ever ♡
It's pathetic to see the animals living in these terrible conditions. Seriously, big tigers living in very small cages...so cruel!! The camels are way too thin. They need to find somebody who knows how to feed one! The manager they have working out there is really rude and doesn't know what she's doing. I wish somebody would close that place down. How appalling and depressing!!
The whole family really enjoyed our day here. The little ones, really loved feeding all the animals. They were so disappointed when we ran out of food. And the camel tried to steel our feed bucket!!!
I cannot wrap my head around the fact that you have a 700lb Siberian tiger in a 50x50 chain link cage and still consider this a good quality of life for an animal of this nature. Keeping him "alive" does NOT equate to keeping him happy. And clean out that monkey building! The ammonia in there is toxic to ALL who enter it. And your birds in the first building were eating other dead birds. Smdh
Such a fun place for kids
Such a fun time! Definitely suggest going to the Little Ponderosa Zoo!
A nice petting zoo for children, there’s pet food for purchase and plenty of goats following the children around to be feed. I was surprised with the variety of animals to see, parking was a little limited due to new construction, all & all it’s worth a visit.
The animals and those who care for them are so happy and grateful to see visitors. Please be sure to visit and definitely get the big bucket of food. You will never feel more loved than when dozens of fluffy cute creatures come running to greet you! And please make a donation so that the team who gives all of these animals a safe home can continue their work! It was a joyful experience...thank you!
We love this place! I love what they are doing for animals.
had a blast here with my daughter..... feeding the animals and NOT having to hike 20miles to see it all was great. The peacock seeing us to our car was the icing on the cake!!! LOVED it.
Another zoo in the area was closed and recommended this zoo for rescued animals. I am so happy I found this little hole in the wall. It's about $12 for adults to get in and $5 for a "small" bucket of feed ---- the bucket was huge enough for me to feed all kinds of animals for about an hour. The kangaroos and the camels were my favorite.
Love to support my local zoo every chance I get. And I love the Bengal tigers!!
Staff is very friendly and it's a great place to see, feed and interact with the animals!
LPZ&R is a great little place, run by people who genuinely care about the critters, the community, and the children thereof. It's not a major zoo, but it makes up for it in many ways.
They are in the progress of rebuilding. I donated reptile cages and a large breed bird cage. It is a great place. Please help them get back up and running. It is a beautiful place
Me and my wife took our 2 year old granddaughter and we had a great time. We are getting ready to take our 1 year old granddaughter. Will post more pics soon
We drove here on a whim one day and found they close at 4pm (currently their website says 6pm and Google says 5pm). We got there just after 4pm and the very nice lady in the front still let my son and I go through. The animals seemed far more happy and alert than animals we see on a regular basis at the Knoxville Zoo, and I loved that we could get closer to them. We loved seeing and interacting with so many animals, they seem genuinely loved and cared for here. We met a couple staff that were all friendly and welcoming, and all staff we saw interacted lovingly with the animals. We used a stroller and didn’t have any issues on the paved sidewalk, though there’s a fairly steep hill that’s optional and easy to skip if necessary. We’ll be back here many times again, this place is a gem.
The kids loved it. This is still under construction. But the staff is very nice
Super friendly staff! Loved seeing the baby porcupine!
Love this rescue zoo
Awesome little zoo and will be even better when the new Barn is built.
Great place for the kids. They loved feeding the animals.
It's an ok place
Great little rescue zoo. You can feed most of the animals, and they have some zoo knoxville does not. They also have a picnic area
Loved the trip. This is a rescue zoo, but you can get closer to most of the animals than any other zoo I have been to. The staff is great, and can answer questions about the animals. I will be going back!!
This place is GREAT!!!
Very hands on experience. It is great for the price I would rather go here then to go to Knoxville Zoo. Will definitely go there in the future.
As always loved our visit today!
I would rather bring the kids here than to the Knoxville Zoo. It is beautiful, fun, interactive and is a very worthy cause to give to; and you get to feed the animals! Buy a big bucket-o-feed and walk around for a few hours with the kids. Don't forget your pony ride as well.
It was great to get to pet the animals.
Nice place but most of the animals u can't feed don't pay 15 bucks n get a big food cuz u won't use it but nice place
Such a wonderful Zoo. The Staff are amazing people. So glad to have this gem in our city! If you havent visited, you're missing out on a great time.
What an a awesome place! We went here for a friend's child's birthday party and was really surprised at the variety of animals. Definitely not your normal petting zoo. Would highly recommend, especially if you have young children.
Great place to go to see all the animals and just take in nature. Great for the whole family!
Price is way too high for what little animals they got now
I loved this place. Such a nice cozy zoo. I love the fact they rescue animals in need and give them a home. Its a great place for family to go. And anyone who'd like to help can, they take donations! Edgar they are doing is a wonderful thing ave I support it 100%!
Nice little place. It is smaller than I thought it was going to be, but was nice for my kids (1 & 3). They enjoyed the goats and deer that really wanted the bucket of food we bought. Highly recommend getting a feed bucket. We got the small. A goat followed us around almost the whole way until we ran out of food. They have a nice play fort and swings as well.
This place is fun and i love taking my toddler
It was great, but the handwashing station wan't working and the hand sanitizer dispenser was empty. Those things are really important when you're at a rural place with animals and potential for E.coli. That's the only reason i gave 4 stars instead of 5. Other than the lack of handwashing, everything was great.... Actually, it'd also be nice to have a real restroom other than just outhouses... But overall it was great.
This is a great place to go with your family, we even take a picnic and eat when we go we usually spend 2 hours here sometimes more! My son loves it and is never bored we have been going here for 3 years now a and will continue to do so for many years to come!
Clean, well run. Animals seed very well taken care of
I loved this place. Such a nice cozy zoo. I love the fact they rescue animals in need and give them a home. Its a great place for family to go. And anyone who'd like to help can, they take donations! Edgar they are doing is a wonderful thing ave I support it 100%!
Everything is kind of pricey for what you get out of it...but I can imagine and appreciate how much money it costs to take care of the animals there. The owner is extremely friendly, and so is the staff.
It is a nice little zoo, it will be even better once they finish rebuilding.
Great little zoo for small children or not alot of time.
Affordable. Nice to walk around and see/feed the animals. The staff and owners are very nice. I wish they had more room for the animals to live though. Kids loved it. We went when they had the inflatables and band. However, the inflatables weren't inflated and the band was super loud. We couldn't stay near them and were concerned if it was too loud for the animals. Otherwise, we had fun.
Need to update website or google and let everyone know that you are closed until March. Google says that you are currently open, when you are not. We drove 30min with a 4-year old that was very excited to come, only to arrive and learn that the zoo is closed for the next several months.
Great place! Highly recommend
We were able to do an animal encounter and feed almost all the animals up close and personal. Very well run place with a great staff.
this is the most azing zoo i have ever visited my grandchildren loved it they got to interact with most of the animals its a well taken care of family fun place
Good folks doing good work for animals, people, and the community. Great place to bring kids, very accessible. Reasonably priced, wholesome fun.
My child loved all the animals there was to feed. Loved how a lot of the animals were free to walk around with the people. We plan to go back..
It's ok
A neat place to visit being they are a rescue and take in animals in need of a home
My kids loved visiting this little hidden gem! The goats were fantastic! My son had a blast making friends with the goats as they followed him around. They are rebuilding after a very unfortunate fire. It is well worth the drive to support this zoo as they rebuild.
Neat place, has a lot of farm animals and some exotic. Could get more for the $$
Was too expensive they should have some kind of family pack two adults two kids two buckets of food two pony rides $90 too much
We loved it
CMy kids (3yrs,2yrs, 10months) love this place! They can interact with the animals- they often get out of the cages and roam about, and u get to feed and pet them as well. Plus, they have a great mix of tame, easy to pet farm-type animals, and wilder, more exotic types such as tigers, wolves, camels and kangaroos to observe. And the pony rides, large playground, and picnic shelters are added bonuses! We also love the fact that they rescue abused/neglected animals, and that you can host parties and events at the zoo, make it an all-around great place that im glad is local to us.
I enjoyed the visit. They do need to label the enclosures much better. Knowing the names of the animals is very important.
Very nice, clean place
Fairly priced with with lots of opportunities for kids to interact with animals. Has a picnic area with several swings and a slide for kids. My daughter had a blast and so did my wife and I. We will be going back.
Good place to take the little ones.
Had a really great time people were extra nice
I love this place! I took my 2 year old granddaughter and she loved it..she was not scared and the animals are so friendly..i recommend the big bucket of food and watch the camel at the end he took our bucket lol
We took our grand kids from Nashville, the first thing I heard was I have been to the Nashville Zoo, the last thing was "this was so much better you can feed and play with the animals. Thank you Ponderosa.
Awesome place! Bigger than I anticipated. Will go back.
Great prices, the animals were friendly and we'll taken care of. My kids had a great time and I would recommend this place to everyone. Very family friendly.
This place is great! I had my first visit and can't wait to go back...
The staff is EXCELLENT..I went with my grandsons school group and it was an AWESOME day..The kids had a lot of fun and enjoyed feeding the animals and playing and riding the ponies...It was better than the Knoxville Zoo and not near the crowd of people..
Beautiful place and lots of fun
My wife and I enjoyed our visit to this little zoo. The staff was nice and friendly and the animals were cool. We will be back with our grandchildren.
Fun place to take the kids. Friendly staff. And the animals are all nice and kid friendly. The price is a little high for what you get, but not outrageous. All in all a good place to visit.
Really cool, open zoo. My son got to pet about every animal in his reach, and they were all very approachable and friendly. You can also feed most of the animals there and buy feed at the front desk. The staff was also awesome. Definitely going again. =)
Awsome for kids of all ages
Awesome experience. Always heard great things but was unprepared for how well maintained the property was and the broad range of animals they care for. Highly recommend Little Ponderosa Rescue/Zoo!
We visited for our sons 2nd birthday and all of us LOVED it!!! We had my sister-in-law and her family join us and all of us enjoyed the interactions with the animals and the kindness of the entire staff!!! The special treat of our son being allowed to pick a Peacock Feather or Porcupine Quill for his birthday surprise was beyond a wonderful addition!!! We will be back, many many times. HIGHLY recommended, if I could give a billion stars, it wouldn't be enough!!!
Great place to go friendly employees lots of animals to see family friendly
We visited here last week for a summer camp trip. The parking was a little complicated as they gave construction going on from last years fire. Other than that, it was a great petting zoo! We loved all the goats!!! They have a great range of animals you can see and touch! Staff was nice and courteous.
This is a nice zoo with friendly staff and volunteers. A great place for an afternoon with little kids.
A wonderful place to take the kids. Lots to do. Plenty of interaction with the animals. Very clean, well taken care of animals and property.
A little out of our way but our son's second birthday was fun for all ages. The staff was eager to please. Don't feel bad asking what you can and can't do.
Nice place wasn't hard to walk around wheelchair assessable. You can tell the animals are used to being pet and fed.
I'm going to start by saying that this is not a fancy zoo. With that being said, the reason I rate The Little Ponderosa 5 stars is because for the price you can't beat the experience. The ability to get close and pet(&feed if you buy a bucket) emu, deer, camels and several other species is what makes this place so awesome! Plus, they are a rescue so they make sure these animals are getting the best care possible.
Great time with the grandbabies! Don't forget a stroller! Get the big bucket of food! Pony rides a must!!!!!! Highly recommended if you want to see many beautiful animals and very friendly people who run it. TY
Love the animals friendly people
What a great place to spend an afternoon! You don't even need kids, everyone loves animals! Your significant other will thank you for this trip!
I have taken my grandson to this zoo 4 times this summer ,he loves it
Love this little Zoo. It's really more fun in a lot of way then the main Zoo in Knoxville. Staff is ALWAYS very friendly and willing answer any question you have. I enjoy feeding the animals as much as my gf's granddaughter does. Will be going back soon
Great place to visit! My kids love it.
We had a wonderful visit to Little Ponderosa on this week. It was a wonderful experience for my grandsons to be able to get close to the animals to pet them and feed them. We hope to return again in cooler weather!
It's great to see them rebuilding. I loved playing with the baby goats!
We like it here. Could use updating
Nice zoo. Hours never match site.
The goats, llamas, small animals all looked comfortable enough. But to see not one but two tigers locked in a cage with no room to hardly move was a little much for me. I understand they had a fire at this facility and even lost some animals. The tigers should be moved to a more natural habitat. This place obviously can not accommodate them.
We love going to Little Ponderosa and seeing all of the rescue animals. All of the staff is super friendly and helpful.
Little Ponderosa Zoo is very near and dear to my husband and I. We live in Knoxville and visited quite frequently before the fire. We were so heartbroken to hear of the Zoo's loss. Almost as if it were our own fur babies. I am so proud of the staff, and owners as well. You guys have certainly seen the worst but refused to give up!! My Husband and I were in awe today...Fantastic Job to you all!! We are in the process of collecting our fur baby toys to donate to you guys. You all and all of the amazing animals hold a very special place in our hearts!
My family loves this rescue zoo! Way better than Knoxville zoo.
Great little zoo.
Fun place to take the kids. Friendly staff. And the animals are all nice and kid friendly. The price is a little high for what you get, but not outrageous. All in all a good place to visit.
They have a wide variety of animals. From Tigers,Zebras,Peacocks, and wolves to goats, pony's,monkeys and lots more! And they are a rescue as well!
Great place to take small children all the way up to the big kid's!!!! You can feed the animal's Wonderful Place!!!! Pony rides, birthday parties, pet and feed the animals they even have a small play area!!!! What more could a child ask for?!?!?! My kid's LOVED it!!!! Can't wait to take them back!!!!
The Zoo was amazing! So many anomals to see, pet , and feed! We had a great time. Everything was clean and the staff were super friendly.
Great place for interacting with the rescues.
The staff is so friendly and theres ALOT of animals. You can pet most of them n feed them too. Sometimes the goats follow u around and peacocks. It was truely amazing! I will visit as much as possible. Not your average zoo. Lots to pet and the animals are so fun n loving!! We even picked up several goats and loved on them. Glitter (goat) is my favorite! Shes sneaky!
Way better than the knoxville zoo! I enjoyed this experience so much, I will definitely be coming back!
Very clean. The zoo was very nice to visit. All the animals looked healthy. Very enjoyable with the family.
Daughter loved feeding the animals.
Awesome lil zoo. Learn alot about the animals and can feed them. Also some to pet. My Grands love it!!
This is a great place to take the kids. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The Male Bengal tiger is simply beautiful.
Went for the free community day. Only there about an hour. Spent most of the hour letting my toddler freak out over the cow. He was so excited to see a cow. He liked the goats too but was most excited over the cow. The cow just stood there so patiently while he yelled cow and threw one pellet of food into the pen at a time. They're in the process of rebuilding after their fire, I can't wait to see the end result.
Really cool, open zoo. My son got to pet about every animal in his reach, and they were all very approachable and friendly. You can also feed most of the animals there and buy feed at the front desk. The staff was also awesome. Definitely going again. =)
I loved this place! I am blown away by how well cared for all the animals were and how, even though the animals not safe to touch where placed away from the crowds and behind glass and/or, all the animals seemed very accessible. We fell in love with the new babies who had recently been born. This is one place not to be missed if you, like me, love animals and dream of being surrounded by them. The layout and mood of the place is very relaxed and casual, but it never felt thoughtless. It's obvious that this place loves the animals in their care and they've made it possible for guests to enjoy the animals respectfully. I can not wait to go back and being more people with me!
Had an awesome time with my grandson.. the staff was super friendly
Owner really loves his babies
Amazing rescue Zoo had a fun time with the kids got to feed animals
Amazing place for the family to go to if they have not yet gone!!! Great amount of animals you can feed! They also have animals you can observe and not food! And they have pony rides which my child enjoyed! All in all this place is a great place to bring the family or a special someone and enjoy petting and feed many different types of animals.
Great experience! The kids loved feeding and petting so many animals. Clean and well-kept with friendly staff. Not crowded at all, so it was a relaxing experience with the family.
The cages and animals are well maintained and you can tell they are very loved by the people that work there. The animals are very affectionate and I got my first ever high five from a kangaroo. I am probably going to buy a season pass when I got next time. It was so much fun even in the 97 degree heat.
Awesome little Zoo!
Not enough Animals
Great place.
Such a fun place! The animals are beautiful and very well taken care of. Staff is very friendly. My family loves Little Ponderosa.
It is just Amazing that one man started this and took these animals in so they could live out their lives instead of being put down
Amazing place for the family to go to if they have not yet gone!!! Great amount of animals you can feed! They also have animals you can observe and not food! And they have pony rides which my child enjoyed! All in all this place is a great place to bring the family or a special someone and enjoy petting and feed many different types of animals.
Nice little place to visit.
Love going there, animals are always clean and the workers are very nice
Friendly employees friendly animals safe
love this place
Small up close zoo. Kids had fun. Staff was friendly. Animals were easy to feed although I felt bad for them their cages seemed small. They seem well taken care of.
We went for a field trip with my son's second grade class and it was great! All of the worker's were so friendly and helpful. The ladies that showed some of the animals to the class were so informative and great at explaining everything to a room full of hyper 2nd graders. I actually liked it more than the Knoxville zoo because it's not as crowded and the worker's are more hands on and will talk to you and explain things about the animals. Yes it's definitely smaller than the Knoxville Zoo, but if you're looking for a day of seeing awesome animals and learning about them and not being crowded by a bunch of people then this is definitely the place to go! I highly recommend checking it out!
Loved this place. Staff was friendly, all animals seemed well cared for,and loved feeding the goats.
This is an awesome place. The people who run this are wonderful generous people. I think everyone should take a trip out here to see the amazing things that are being done with these rescues.
Kids had fun, prices for items like feed $6, $14and $20 for feed.
A great place to take the kids! Very fun and educational at the same time. Plus BABY GOATS!!
Lots of fun! Animals to feed and play with.
This is the best little zoo! They are a rescue so their focus is on taking in unwanted exotic pets and rescuing "lost causes". The place is small but the animals are very friendly and the staff is great. You can buy buckets of feed and hand feed most of the animals. It's really fun to have the camel eat out of you hand. You can pet any animal you want except for a few, the kangaroo will give you kisses if he isn't napping. Shadow the wolf loves people will come out to say hi and pose for pictures. The baby goats like to climb right through the fence to get food from you. This is my family's favorite place to visit when we are in the Smokies!
It was an experience I will not forget. I hated to see the way the animals had to live I cried
My two year old really enjoyed Little Ponderosa. We pretty much had the place to ourselves. The price is a little high for what it is but I hope that’s because they are expanding.
Great experience! The kids loved feeding and petting so many animals. Clean and well-kept with friendly staff. Not crowded at all, so it was a relaxing experience with the family.
My son and I came on a rainy Thursday morning during spring break and had the zoo to ourselves. We had a fantastic time, and that's really an unstatement. We had all of the animals attention. :o) I think next time we won't get the large bucket of food just because it's not necessary. My son is a 13 year old animal lover so this was a perfect place for us to spend quality time together. The staff was very friendly and talked to us about different exhibits as they were attending the animals. We're surely coming back! The animals all looked happy and they were all pet-able like petting a kangaroo, camels, and little baby goats that followed us around like puppies....just such a unique experience.
Really enjoyed it. My family was thoroughly happy with our trip. My daughter even talked about trying to get a job there one day.
Great place for kids and family little bit of a walk but it's worth it
The cages and animals are well maintained and you can tell they are very loved by the people that work there. The animals are very affectionate and I got my first ever high five from a kangaroo. I am probably going to buy a season pass when I got next time. It was so much fun even in the 97 degree heat.
Awesome place for the whole family.
The problem was that they didn't have signs posted by the animals to show where there from and what the names and origins the animals were from.
Great lil place very friendly
Good place to take your kids and have fun looking at all the animals
This is a great day activity for yourself and your kids!! They are a wonderful facility that helps take in abused and unwanted animals as well as ones who have lost their loving owners. I recommend taking an hour or two out of your day SOON for you and your children to meet some wonderful people, and some amazing and beautiful animals.
The zoo is a wonderful asset to our community.
It is nice to pet the animals however. I think the tiger cage is way to small for 2 tigers
A great place to take grandchildren. Mine always have fun feeding the animals.
Had a blast taking our 2 yr old. We arrived after church and had the place to ourselves. Staff was very friendly. We love our small businesses!!
My daughter and her son and my granddaughter and myself went and we loved it .We plan on going again...
Amazing little "road not taken" place with small crowds, a nice playground and plenty of animals. Inside is obnoxiously pungent, but not sure how they could relieve that smell. It kind of smells like a burnt perm hairstyle. So, hold your breath while inside. Once outside, you can travel around a large oval to feed deer, camels, giraffes, sheep and goats. There are plenty more attractions, and a pony ride (extra cost). Be prepared to pay extra for a can soda or water ($2 is ridiculous). The only restrooms are at the entrance/exit. You enter and exit through the same building. The entire place can be viewed in probably 15 minutes, as the bottom of the loop is unnecessary, except for flow. There is a semi-steep hill going around the loop; so, if you're unable to walk long distances uphill, you may need help or a break, and definitely take the low road (right at the fork) first. Even though it can be tackled in 15 minutes, you can easily spend a few hours here.
For the price you pay here you would think it's as big as the Knoxville zoo. It's not. And while you can feed the animals it's just not worth paying 15$ a person to get in and then another 15bfor food. But kids under 3 get in free and they do have bouncy houses. So ya know there's that.
We had a great time at Little Ponderosa Zoo! It was a unique and very interactive experience that my family really enjoyed. I highly recommend visiting and feeding the animals!
An awesome place that gives animals that has been mistreated or injured a safe haven to call home for as long as they need it. Terrific staff.
Love it.
Amazing destination with lots of obviously well treated and loved animals to pet and feed.
Nice small zoo with some nice animals and you can fed many of them.
Ok. Nice place to see a few animals
Surprised. Expectations were EXCEEDED by the variety of animals. Family atmosphere. Animals are result of being rescued. I enjoyed as much as the children.
Awesome place. I love that you can pet pretty much every animal. They have the cutest little goats that just follow you around trying to steal feed. The staff was very friendly and the animals seemed well kept. I can't wait to go back when they finish the reptile and monkey exhibit.
What a nice little hidden gem. It's off the beaten path in a play far away from the crowded zoos of the city. Be sure to get plenty of farm animal kibble at the front desk. I think the adults enjoyed feeding all of the animals as much as the kiddos did.
This was a great visit! I am surprised this little zoo doesn't appear on most web searches for Clinton, TN attractions. Our 4-year old loved it. We got there right at 10 when they opened on a Monday and had the whole zoo to ourselves!!! The tigers there are amazing....and there were quite a few monkeys too...a lot of very neat other animals to see also! We spent a good hour walking around and feeding the animals. Great place, glad we decided to stop!!
