As you can see its rating is virtually the top, and it is founded on a very high number of opinions, so we may think that the assessment is very credible. If people have bothered to evaluate when they've done well with the business, it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to give opinions when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Zoo belongs to the category of Animal park.
Drove all the way up here with my fiance and her mother on a wednesday, got here at 4:30. Website says they close at 6 or 7. There's nobody here, the windows are blacked out and there are no hours posted. Did they close down?
HUGE selection of snakes, very knowledgeable and entertaining owner, we even got to hold a snake, kids especially love this place
Was very clean, now things are kind of unkept. Was kind of depressing of the lack of care for the snakes.
Our kids loved our visit here. Would recommend to anybody!
I've been twice, my son has been multiple times and absolutely loved it! Great collection; snakes and other reptiles where healthy and housed in enclosures bigger than many of the zoos in the south-eastern US (which due to my sons fascination with all creatures I’m very, very familiar with). With a very knowledgeable, helpful staff and an owner who is an avid snake enthusiast any short trip there can easily turn into several well spent hours! Would highly recommend to anyone except the most Ophidiophobic!
The owners brother allowed us to look and even touch some buetiful snakes and amphibians. It is a great place for younger kids to learn about the reptile far and near.
Very neat place and the guys that run it are awesome with the kids
Awesome place, very helpful. Even got me to touch a spider!!!
The snakes and other animals were not taken care of well!
Very friendly knowledgeable prople.
Amazing place full of awesome snakes! The owners are very knowledgeable about the snakes and will even let you hold some of the non venomous ones of you like.
They have so many snakes that I had never seen before. They were very knowledgeable and friendly. Feeding is Saturday afternoon.
Place is great. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly!!
My 2 daughters and 3 smallest grands loved it. More value for your money than I know of. Staff were phenomenal!!!
Fantastic collection! Ricardo was a fun, friendly & knowledgeable host. Highly recommended for snake lovers of all ages!
If you like snakes or simply want to learn more about them stop by and meet Walter and all his snakes. Yes hundreds of venomous snakes on display including mamba's, cobras, rattlesnakes and a large variety of other snakes
Absolutely incredible. An amazing exhibit to explore. The owner is extremely friendly and knowledgable and makes the experience so fun. Got to hold a gentle cornsnake and a chill boa named Morgan. The snakes are so sweet that I even got my boyfriend to give them a chance and hold them. Thank you for this wonderful experience and for converting another person into a lover of these beautiful creatures. Can't wait to visit again! :)
This is by far the worst place i have ever been too. They had dead lizards thrown outback on top of garbage. All of the cages are disgusting. Real poor living conditions for all the reptiles. Many of the cages had no water and if they had water it was nasty the food for the reptiles was old and moldy. Some of the snakes looked like they were on there death bed. When i questioned the owner about it he got real mad and defensive with poor excuses why the conditions are the way they are. I pray this place gets shutdown fast. I also took many pictures and a video of this and also reported this place and this was the 4th time he has been reported this month.
This is a great place to see many rare vipers. It has a better selection of venomous snakes than even the best reptile houses at well known zoos. There are also many rare venomous color morphs some of which are the world's only example. There are also non-venomous reptiles some of which can be touched. The staff is very passionate and knowledgeable. There are over 100 enclosures and some of the highlights include a two headed corn snake, a beautiful white monocled cobra who hoods frequently, multiple very rare Ethiopian mountain vipers, and a 19ft male reticulated python. If you love rattlesnakes this place certainly won't disappoint they have a vast array of species, localities, and morphs. The enclosures are a little Spartan, but the place opened recently and I am sure more decoration will come with time and the wide variety of animals more than makes up for it. Reptile lovers should check it out.
Owner is very cool. Lots of snakes that I have not seen before
It was a great experience and I can't wait to go back.
Not sure about the cost because we were on a home school field trip. But, they have lots of snakes and other reptiles. The tour is self guided. And they are there to answer any questions you may have. We did get to hold some snakes and other things.
Super friendly and knowledgeable staff, an awesome place!!
So much to look at well worth the money and time to go check it out
Very knowledgeable staff! Very nice collection! But habitats needed to be kept cleaner and many were completely out of water and didn't look too healthy. Otherwise we had a great time and can't wait to go back!
The staff here were very knowledgeable. They seemed to love what they are doing, and the animals were well taken care of. My daughter's absolutely loved this place. We will go back many times, i'm sure.
Amazing collection and we learned so much. The owner was kind enough to open for us despite personal issues since we came from out of town. This was the activity selected by my son on our Asheville trip and was an unexpected highlight for everyone.
This place is awesome. My daughter loves it.
Awesome
Inexpensive. Nice, family friendly place to visit. Knowledgeable, friendly staff.
Amazing experience! The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. My 3 year old, my husband and I were very impressed and had a wonderful learning experience! Thank you!
This place should be shut down. The replies are living in absolute filth and squalor. Anybody who says the owners care about these animals obviously is not educated on reptiles. No animal deserves to live with filthy water if any at all and have to lay in live in it's own excrement. As a local snake breeder and reptile enthusiast This establishment only hurts the reptile community on not properly educating people about these animals. But making people think it's ok for reptiles to live like this. Please do not support this place I wouldn't let my feeder rats live in the conditions that these snakes are forced to live in stuck shed and mite infestations. Is just the cream of the cake. Henderson county should shut this place down
Cool place hidden in the mountains! Incredible number of animals, more than I expected. Very knowledgeable owner, he was very kind.
Amazing variety with knowledgeable, helpful, friendly owners! We will definitely be back!
We were so excited to check this place out, but beyond saddened by the environment and condition of snakes. All are kept in black containers, lining the walls, with mulch beneath them except for one sand snake. They each have one bowl of water that are filthy with filmy surfaces. Some tanks were empty and I wouldn't be surprised if it was because the snake had died. The cobra on the second floor, back corner did not look alive. If he was, he looked seriously depressed. A 18 foot python was placed in a 30 foot tank. There were fruit flies and fleas jumping around inside tanks and in and around the exhibit. While the majority of these snakes are creatures you may never see in your lifetime and the owner is knowledgeable, it is clearly out of obsession to collect and to have - and that is not enough to own an establishment dedicated to animals. I'm surprised at how many people were in there with us and just oblivious to the conditions. I'm surprised the owner with his containers of "new arrivals" stacked up behind him and his biblical quotes posted on the wall doesn't have enough sense to create a true habitat for these beautiful creatures. If you don't have enough money to make this happen, you have no right to make it a business. Wake Up.
This place was fascinating. There are a tremendous # of snakes to view. The King Cobra was puffed up for us! Black Mamba, Egyptian Cobra, Puff Adder, about 200 snakes. Most venomous.
Fun quick trip! Kids had a blast and the host was super nice and accommodating to all of the children and their crazy questions! Very inexpensive, worth the visit for kiddos that love things that crawl and slither!!
After going to the Repticon in Arden we found out about this place! It was awesome! The owner is very knowledgeable and the experience is great! I recommend this to everyone! Especially kids!!!
My husband and I took out kids and it was AMAZING. The knowledge of the staff is unlimited. It's well worth the money and time to go. We will be going again.
Pretty cool
I stopped by just before they closed and they welcomed us in. The owner and staff were so hospitable and friendly, we hated to leave. What a great place for a reptile enthusiast. We had a great time. I suggest you stop by when in the area, you'll be glad you did.
Small venue but really enjoyable visit. They were extremely nice and brought out several snakes for my boys to see up close and touch.
While the snakes were stunning in their variety and colors, I have to say their care is a lot less than what I would've hoped for someone who owns a place dedicated to the animals. Honestly I was somewhat disgusted by how much old shed and poop were just strewn in the barren cages. All the water dishes were either empty, full of substrate, or had a thick slimy film over them :( I will not be returning due to how bad I feel for their animals and do not wish to support that care.
The owners were soooo informative and welcoming. All of the species were so incredible and the hands-on experience was wonderful.
This place was great! We were visiting from Atlanta and was told by a local to go visit. We pulled up and we were a little skeptical about how it would be. Well were wrong. So many snakes and very knowledgeable staff member( owners brother). I can not Express how awesome it was. We will ne going back very soon.
It was absolutely amazing to come in close contact with so many varieties and species in one location. Richard was a wonderful guide and excellent story teller. Thanks Richard, be sure to look us up if you visit the Netherlands and we will help you to get in 'touch' with all the paintings you want :-)
We had a great visit. Very nice owners, very knowledgeable.
Several interesting serpents and reptiles to see. Admission is free this weekend and I would go again but I don't believe the normal admission fee is worth the amount of exhibits they have. It took about 20 minutes to look at all the exhibits. Maybe next time the upstairs exhibit will be open...
We brought our children (7 & 9) and their friends who were over for a sleepover and we all loved it! The owner was so nice and informative! There are all sorts of venomous and non-venomous snakes, a baby alligator, geckos and other lizards, and even tarantulas and an 18ft python and a two headed snske! We will definitely be back!
My family and I had a great experience! We will definitely go back again in the near future!
My son is a huge fan of snakes and he loved this place! The staff were super knowledgeable and basically gave us a private tour answering all the questions we had about all the different types of snakes. We will definitely be back soon.
Awesome place. 150+ exhibits, including many rare and unique snakes. One of the best collections of vipers anywhere.
Awesome place with extremely knowledgeable owners/employees. Very polite & took the time to answer all my kid's questions about the different types of snakes in the massive 2 story building! My 5 year son even got to hold a corn snake! He loved it! I would highly recommend everyone experiencing this place at least once!
Tons of snakes. Very nice and knowledgeable staff. They even removed some of the corn snakes to let us hold them. Overall I really recommend you visit. It's great and well worth the price.
Awful conditions ! Starved snakes unclean tiny tanks. Saw mites and stuck shed. Never go don’t give that shit show money.
Very friendly and knowledeable staff! Cery awesime experience
Wonderful experience! Certainly a great place to visit when in the area.
This place and the people that work there are amazing! Definitely worth the visit!
I would highly recommend watching your children closely when holding a snake. My son was bit across the face. From his eyelid to his neckline. This was a Python that was very large. Also please note my son is well trained on holding our ball python at home regularly. He is generally good with reptiles. The lack of concern of the staff is most alarming. Go at your own risk.
Great place to go! Amazing collection of snakes from around the world. It is family friendly, has a knowledgeable staff, and always has something new to see. We go there often... Highly recommend!
Very educational and absolutely amazing animals.. Will definitely be going for another tour through this place.. Kids loved it as well..
I took 4 kids ages 5-11 to Serpintarium Magic today. It was awesome. They have so many different kinds of snakes and every one of them was interesting. The snakes were active and very alert. The kids all loved it! I myself being deathly afraid of reptiles, could still appreciated the care and time they have put into making this facility a wonderful home for these creatures. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Walter walked around with my energetic group answering question after question. He was very patient and funny. Thank you for making our day fun and educational. We loved it!
Wonderful place, came by with a group of 11 people and the owner was very accommodating of us even with our large group. He was knowledgable, very friendly, and he was able to answer all of our questions. He was very patient and allowed us to touch and hold many of the snakes, such a unique experience that many of us had never had before. And this was all for the very reasonable price of $7 per adult. Overall, would highly recommend serpentarium magic. The animals are treated well and the staff is great.
This place is so cool! My 9 year olds dream!!
Great day with the kids!
We drove 2 hours they wherent open and the website said they where
Absolutely amazing! Definitely the highlight of our trip to Asheville. Highly recommend seeing this place!
It's a snake farm....
This is a really cool collection and a great family outing. Walter was so willing to share information and answer questions. We will be going back for sure!
We took out son here and he loved it so much! There were so many different snakes to looks at. The staff were very knowledgable and friendly. They were quick to come over and tell us about the different snakes we were looking at. At the end we were able to actually handle a 2 headed corn snake. This place does smell pretty stinky but with all those snakes and I'm sure rodent cages in the back to feed them it's to be expected.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. A really great experience!
Was an great trip. Well werth it. Thanks Walter
We will definitely go back. I was impressed with how many exhibits they had, especially the king cobra, the anaconda, and the diamondback exhibit. They also had two of the biggest water moccasins I had ever seen including a pure white leucistic specimen. The owner and his brother were very knowledgeable and hospitable as well.
I love Serpentarium Magic!
I think they could have put a little bit more details about where they're from what they eat how venomous they are yes they had to scale Char and a map pictured but for some I think would have been a little easier if they had like an idea of where they come from and what kind of environments they live in naturally.
So many reptiles! We got there at feeding time--very interesting!
Very interesting place with knowledgeable people. My son loved being able to touch a spider and turtle and got to learn about different snakes.
We really enjoyed seeing all the different reptiles and the staff were super nice and knowledgeable!
Very nice owner and good display of snakes
Great collection of reptiles and a knowledgeable owner. Interesting experience to share with our granddaughter.
This place really made me feel more comferdable with snakes. When we went there was someone who would take a peacful snake out and let us touch it and teach us about it. It was a fun experience and I will absolutely be back again. Kid and adult friendly envitoment.
Every time I go, Richard and everybody there are so extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I typically try to take someone new and introduce them to the fascinating world of snakes. They all have left with more information and a better understanding of these animals. They know that snakes aren't the cold bloodied killers and attackers of myths and legends.
Interesting place, for sure. I’ve taken several groups of students, who have thoroughly enjoyed the expansive collection of snakes, spiders, and other reptiles. The staff is very knowledgeable and happy to answer questions—though seemed somewhat annoyed by our younger kids asking questions that maybe seemed “irrelevant,” since the little ones are just curious about everything. They are also willing to take school groups for no charge as a way to educate kids, which is very admirable-at made us able to take this field trip in the first place. I would give this spot higher stars if the facility were in better shape. The windows of each tank are very dirty, there are spider webs in several exhibits—as well as endless amounts of shed skin and snake droppings. Today—we were welcomed with an OVERWHELMING smell upon entering. I can only imagine how difficult it is to keep up with cleaning that many cages while running a business that people are touring, don’t get me wrong. However, a warehouse space with no ventilation and 100+ creators producing excrement daily is a recipe for some strong odors. I kept my shirt over my nose most of the time I was there and felt sick from breathing it in. Our kids had a blast and there is SO much to explore and learn, but I will only be back personally if they clean it up.
I came here for a field trip, and I have to say this place is great! Very friendly people and very interesting snakes and creatures. Some of the snakes where rather funny!
My husband and I had a great time looking at everything. The owners and staff are very knowledgeable and FRIENDLY. We enjoyed a nice conversation with several of the staff members and we were even allowed to touch and hold a few animals.
Great place to go the kids loved it and the owner was very friendly and interacted with the kids answering every question they had! Definitely going back soon!
So many cool snakes!
Super friendly and informative staff… Kids had a blast and did not want to leave!
Sooooooo cool. Educational, fun, and the kids were so into it.
Very educational, my girls (6 and 3) loved it! Easy to find, we will be back!
This place is awesome! Had the greatest time here this past Friday. Very broad range of reptiles in this building and the people are just the nicest you will find anywhere. Very educational and lots of hands on interaction with the animals. Highly recommend a visit here if you haven't had one already.
This place was awesome! My son had a blast looking at all the different kind of snakes they had on display. Walter was very knowledgeable & great with my son. Cons: the animal bedding wasn't very clean, but they said they were in a process of changing it all.
All of the reptiles were cool, but the tanks were disgusting and really made me feel bad for the critters.
My daughters (10 and 3) and I visited today and had a wonderful time. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and the snakes and animals all looked healthy and well cared for. Amazing variety of snakes and reptiles from all over the world. We will definitely be back.
It was awesome, got to hold some snakes and had a great conversation with one of the workers. Told us lots of interesting facts and stories about the snakes
We spent the whole afternoon here and loved every second. The snakes were visible and active. Great for kids and adults. We will be back and will bring our friends. This place is truly a special treat!
This is simply a great place! You are going to learn a lot and enjoy the snakes (over 160). This is a super place for children as the staff is very good with youngsters. Knowledgeable, professional and friendly. This is a great attraction for all ages.
Learned So Much And So Much To See!!!
The place was so much fun!!
Amazing place for kids and adults. The employees are very helpful with interacting with you and providing lots of information of all the reptiles. They are also very open to let you have a hands-on experience.
