Wonderful zoo seen alot of animals and was very friendly. Great views pictures and family fun they had exhibits were you can see animals right in front of you were the free roam around they animals had alot of fun the the people. Was a great experience

Amanda Levesque

I have been going to this zoo since I was a baby, and now it's a family tradition to go once every summer. I've memorized the walkways and paths, where each animal is. With every new addition I get a new surprise, it's always exciting. It's a wonderful place, covered in shade and full of life! I couldn't ask for a better local zoo, or even park, to spend a day at.

Kate Norton

It's really fairly priced and she has animal food for visitors. Holding the kangaroo was AMAZING. Going back to hold the snake soon!

Julie C.

Beautiful park. We took a ride through while waiting to pick up my father. Lots of fond memories of this Park. They are some areas under construction. And they have changed the park areas, but still beautiful. We had just enough time to walk through the stunning gardens

Raji Rajan

Best kids friendly zoo. The mini water splash pad and activity area are so much loved by little ones

Cassandra Saunders

It was my first time at the Roger Williams Park Zoo and it was very nice and cozy. I enjoyed seeing the elephants and giraffes the most. I'd recommend arriving to the park before 12pm or you'll miss all of the daily animal encounters they have set up, like feeding the giraffes.

Lisa Leigh103

Was only 10 dollars a person, had some interactive animals. Not a bad stop to have cute family fun on a budget. Some good photos 2.

trevor ely

Great prices and so much fun.

Brianna Lacross

Chris LeBeau

Best zoo in the area! Go early to see most of the animals eating their breakfast. The new rainforest building is great also, but it is hot in there (it is a rainforest). Plenty of zoo staff around to answer questions and plenty of viewing space to see most animals. The price is on the lower side, which is a plus. The kids love this place.

Allen Daigle

Me and my favorite girl love just walking around the park. Next to the carousel you can get a great ice cream cone. But look out,a small one is plenty. I got the big cone and had to balance about a quart of ice cream on a small little cone. I ate it but we had a good laugh while I was eating it. Hers too. She got the small and got almost as I did. She made it too without dropping it. Great tasting ice cream

Chelsea Dorris

Fun for everyone

Had the most amazing time! Made a spontaneous trip here from New York for the day and I'm so happy we ended up here. The zoo was delightful, a lot of workers around who are very willing to talk about the animals and answer any questions. Ended up staying for their Pumpkin Spectacular and it was incredible!!!

Chris J.

We love this zoo. We have been members for years. Sometimes I go with the kids and sometimes I go alone. Great zoo.

Nathan Washor

Great zoo! Friendly staff always willing to point out the animals if you can't find them. Perfect spot for a corporate picnic.

carrie schenk

Small but fun for the kids

Jeannette Kohler

Went for the jack-o'-lantern display... really worth it!! The detail was amazing and the set up was beautiful!

Liz O

Great fun to be had for all ages! Reasonable prices on refreshments but you're also allowed to bring j your own food and drinks! Could easily spend all day here and enjoy myself. Highly recommend!

Sofia Miller

An Emu pooped on my Moms foot and Tobey and Torey (parrots) laughed at her.

Joe C.

Was very surprised by this zoo. Had a lot of different animals. Very nice

Beth Falzone

The activities for children were fantastic. Lots and lots of shaded areas, very clean zoo, and the animals looked healthy and very well cared for. The zoo size just enough for little ones and elderly. Would definitely go back !!!!!

Daniel Osbert

This is a fun place to be with the family. I have visited the Zoo a few times and went to check if there were new additions and what is housed in the building that was constructed . There several African wildlife to see. It needs time to visit every part of the zoo so make time if you want to see all the animals.

Elizabeth Bass

We spent a day there. Lovely place to visit, a good variety of animals, and beautifully landscaped. Shady areas to sit and eat lunch, and several restaurants. Recommended day out for families. It took us 4 hours to see the whole zoo.

Corey Cunningham

Went for the pumpkin gallery. The pumpkins were really well done, but finding parking was a nightmare. They told us the lots were full, but a friend who went ahead of us was standing in one of the lots and told us there were spaces available. We had to use the bathroom and asked if there were actual bathrooms instead of outhouses, and were directed to outhouses (of which only two were functional, but even those were completely filthy) only to find out after using the outhouses that there are bathrooms inside. It's a shame, the people who made the pumpkins obviously worked so hard and did stellar jobs, but everything else about the event was disorganized and poorly managed.

Amy Loreck

This is a great zoo. Lots of animals to see, also LOTS of walking, beware! There is a kids' play area that to be honest my kids could easily spend the entire day in if I let them. We fed giraffes and that was pretty darn cool! There are many opportunities to make this trip more expensive which aren't too hard to avoid if you pack a lunch and stay away from the gift shops. There is even a Dunkin inside the zoo!

Trevor Grimm

Inexpensive backyard zoo with many animals walking around and able to interact with.

Patrick Sullivan

Took my son today and it was very enjoyable. Weather was perfect, all the animals were out. The petting farm was our favorite

Michelle Camblin

Southwick zoo is still our favorite zoo because they have the deer enclosure and letting zoo.. Roger Williams was laid out really well though. I definitely felt like we were able to view the animals closer here than any zoo we've been to. Definitely would go again sometime. They also have elephants- I don't believe ant of the zoos in Massachusetts do so it was our closest option to see them!

Margaret Colarossi

One of the nicest zoos we have visited. Very friendly staff. Well kept grounds and good service at food counters. Best 10 minutes were watching the elephant getting a shower from her handler. At his direction she followed each command "turn around, lift your foot, raise your trunk" all the time while getting hosed down and eating treats thrown to her by the kids in the audience. Never saw anything like it.

Dani F

Our favorite zoo to visit. Parking is a little crazy, although there does seem to be a ton of it. No matter how busy it is, you can always see the animals fairly close. They do a great job of positioning some of the enrichments for the animals close to where you view them, so you get a chance to see them. Always clean and well kept.

Vaughnesa Stewart

Rahul Sinh

The staff is very helpful and always smiling. Face painting is amazing! The restrooms are very clean and there is food for kids in many locations within the zoo. Animals are kept well. A must see

Steven Natividad

Awesome zoo! Has all the animals a zoo could have. Charlotte loved the goats.

Lena Little

Worst trip ever!!! Halloween spectacular was so poorly planned 3 hrs in traffic to get in then to find out no more parking. Then a 1/2 mile walk to get to the gate,Got my tickets in advance and still stood in line for an hour. Oh and don’t worry there were no refunds so spent over 100 to get in for 20 mins then walk a half mile back to my car and another hour to get out. Skip this trip!!!!!

bruce cameron

Elizabeth Mzian

my kids love it here!! the halloween spectacular was amazing this year

M.C. Meenagh

Wentfie the jack o lantern spectacular and was pleasantly surprised. It was really nice. Enjoyed the walk and some very creative and beautiful pumpkin displays.

Jen Smith

This is a cute little place to bring the kids for a few hours in the afternoon. The animals are so friendly, you'll really get to see some of their personalities. There's a baboon, baby zebra, kangaroos, goats, tortoises, rabbits, turkeys, and parrots, just to name a few.

Elizabeth Mcdowell

Omg, first time there it is a beautiful zoo! It's great for families, fun, pleasant place. All around nice place to be.

John Horvath

Not a complete bust but not worth the $15 either. Plus it took 40 minutes to park and another 15 minutes to get tickets. Can skip the ticket line by getting them online but then there's a service charge.

mike morales

Gorgeous zoo with healthy and well kept animal enclosures. Huge lots of land for the animals to roam in. Friendly staff and so much to do, we walked around for two plus hours and still had more to see. Always great to see happy, healthy animals especially in zoos. Will go back and recommend.

Peachii

This was by far the nicest zoo. It had tents on hot summer days. It has a good selection of animals to see and you can feed the giraffes!

Luke Lucini

Great as usual. But why did they have to cut the old tree back near the snakes den. Some of the old branches rerouted themselves making a new tree but attached to orginal tree. It was beautiful.

Scarlett

It’s the perfect size for toddlers to around ten years old. They have lots of stuff for toddlers to do around the whole zoo my sons favorite thing was going in the goat pen and grooming the goats. They were very friendly and u could feed them as well. He also loves the water area when you first walk in! I was very pleased with my visit with him!!!

rash aroskar

We really liked the zoo. My animal lover kid enjoyed it very much. The zoo is small. There aren't too many species like some big zoos. The animals in the zoo are in good health and state though. There are 4 elephants and 4 giraffes. The animal view points are well placed that gives good and close views of the animals. There are playing areas for kids and also a little hiking trail with knowledge nuggets.

Ariel Deeds

Staff was so sweet! Had so much ,a lot of different exotic animals!

Lela Mac

Providence is always working hard to keep the park fresh and clean, with plenty to do. It's been a beautiful sight to see for years ♡ Besides the zoo there is police horses , gardens , swan boats, wooded walking paths , carousel, inclusive playground that is WHEELCHAIR FRIENDLY ♡

Lisa Ashcraft

I loved that the zoo was large, beautiful and there were lots of places to find shade and benches to rest. The animals looked happy (all things considered) and I was glad to see habitats that included lots of live plants. The large wetlands area was a nice surprise, great idea to blend local ecology education with exotic attraction. The greenhouse area brings you VERY close and personal to a variety of species. Great zoo, we will return!

Ramon Diaz

great and awesome park and zoo. I recommend to all

Linda Griffiths

My grandnieces really enjoyed the goat brushing pen...yes,you can brush the goats, and they love it. The petting of the armadillo was a close second. A beautiful day for a visit to the zoo.

Brenda Szkopiec

When we first heard about this place, we were very doubtful about it being any good. We were told it was only $10 a person to get in, $5 a person or $20 a family to hold a baby kangaroo. $3 a person to go in with the birds. When we went they had just started to let people hold their huge snake, which my son and grandkids did and it was $5 a person or $20 a family. They also let one of my son in the cage to pet their large beautiful owl. Many animals walk amongst you as you walk around. Most animals can be hand fed and petted, even the ones behind the fence. They sell food at a inexpensive cost. My family and I had a great time. It was great being able to interact with the animals. The workers were all so nice also. We are going to start going here a lot. It is a small zoo but it's a good time and experience for everyone. I recommend everyone visit at least once since it is so inexpensive.

theresa lopes

It's okay I feel like the animals aren't though

Rebecca

Alexandria Williams

So much fun! Great for kids of all ages but we went with a 3 year old and there was so much for her to do and be entertained by. What an awesome day. It was wonderful to see the elephants and giraffes so close up.

Me

Small and worth $10 for sure!

Stephen Nichols

Holly LaConte

New rainforest exhibit is beautiful. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Definitely hit or miss on a lot of the exhibits, plan ahead according to weather and season, even times of the day make a difference. Membership benefits are worth it, giving access to some special events throughout the year.

Nancy Worthen

Yes, the zoo is a great place to go. And see zebras, giraffes, elephants and much more. My favorite was the barnyard, cause my granddaughter got to brush and pet a goat. She was thrilled!

Chad Winship

Nice people. Not too big but big enough to fill an afternoon and some great animals and displays

James Borchers

Fun place . Small petting zoo good variery of animals . Excellent staff very friendly

Sophia Chaviari Borodemos

Excellent and Big zoo to visit. Prepare to walk A LOT but it truly is a blast!

Robert Nichols

James Clark

Emily Morgan

Absolutely loved how visible all the animals were. All the animals also looked healthy many of them playing. We did have a storm rolling in so we didnt want to risk it and hang out longer. That being said by the time we were heading out most of the animals had moved to there inside enclosures or were taking shelter.

Susie Campbell

Great zoo. Smaller than the Bronx Zoo but a good place for little ones. We did the entire zoo before my son's afternoon nap so it worked out well!

Sherri Cherniawski

Coming back to a park I grew up on was the best thing. So many different area's to go to it took me all day. But it was worth it.

Elizabeth Humiston

Fantastic place! It's way bigger than it looks. The animals all were happy and well cared for. I recommend you bring the kids and get a picture with a kangaroo.

Nicholas Millard

Great for the kids and adults alike. The Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular in October is a must see, and the Zoobilee and other adult nights are great for the beer lovers!

Michael Russo

One of the best zoos I have been to. Big and spread out. Didn't feel over crowded. Plenty of fun hands on stuff for the kiddies also. My daughter loved getting to brush the goats and the pet an armadillo experience. The animals were wonderful to see. Overall a great zoo that we are excited to go back to visit.

Alicia Barlow

Megan Kelley

Definitely one of the coolest experiences I've ever had with animals!! The kids had a blast and so did i!!

Melissa Sokolinski

The place is very sweet. So nice that the animals can interact with guests. Sadly my 2 yr old was intimidated but we still had a great time! It was mostly shaded so we stayed cool and I was able to get my double stroller through all the paths! We will definitely return!

Dawn Benoit

We went to pumpkin event. The drive in is long and parking limited. Very busy and got bummed into alot. Carved pumpkins amazing thou.

John Curran

The final Friday night food truck event took place and it was a wonderful experience I've been going here since they first began it with my niece which is now 6 so she started going at one year old

Darrell Neville

The pumpkin displays were totally awesome. Unlike any other, I've seen..

Tina Kruczek

Great display as always. Sadly You would think with all the years having this event they would find a better solution for traffic and parking. Once on arrival at the park, It took over an hour to get through the driveway/entrance just to park. We almost missed our ticket time.

Kylie Rezendes

Conservation forward and educational for both adults and children. Interactions with staff are always pleasant and the animals seem fit and stimulated. Great zoo!

Ardenia Atkins

Great place, very friendly staff and animals. Great for kids and adults of all ages. They have some free roaming friendly animals and goat, kangaroo baby, and birds you can interact with. I will deff be going back with family and friends.

Brian Morse

Wonderful variety of animals. Larger then it looks from the road definitely get your moneys worth

Traci Lawson

First of all there is a bus that takes you right to the front of the zoo. It is bus 6 and runs once an hour. Definitely take that one. There is so much to see at the zoo. We got there around 11 and left around 2pm. The food at Wilderness Cafe is pretty decent. There just aren’t enough seats indoors. Even though it was Winter we still got to see almost every animal and there were several places to stop and warm up. I would definitely take a group back there.

kristie shortt

The pumpkins were great! We had tickets for 8pm. Got there for 7:36. Crazy trying to park. Finally got to where the pumpkins were at 8:59. Sooo many people. Next time we go it will definitely be during the week!

Jai Mar

This place is awesome. But if you don't like crowds try to see it early when it first opens because it's quite the long line of traffic to get in and another long line to get a ticket and then very crowded if you go closer to Halloween, but very worth it!

Karen Wright

Best little zoo around. Had a great day feeding, patting and holding. The owners are a great family, you can tell all the animals they have are well loved and spoiled. Can’t wait to back again❤️

aurie good

Great zoo with well done exhibits. Closest we've been to the elephant and sloths! Perfect for family's with young kids.

Stanley Miller

My wife and I enjoyed a good time with the grandkids. The zoo is small but has a lot of animals to see up close. Our grandkids loved holding the baby kangaroos.

margo knapp

It was,so awesome

J. Roberts

Sara Mason

Amazing place! Friendly knowledgeable staff! Great experience overall! Highly recommend!!

Jon Perreault

Nick Bilancieri

It was cool to see all the animals! Just be ready for a lot of walking! I reccomend doing the "soaring eagle" even if it is pricy. You get a good view of the Providence sky line

Bob d37 evens 3rd channel

Come on you have to hold a Kanga Roo that hurts I hated the zoo so much this is not a zoo. Actually

Madi Lynn

This is such a fun place to visit. I have been going with family ever since I have been just a little girl. It is now becoming more and more elaborate, and it is an enjoyable time. You're getting exercise while seeing these beautiful animals and they're being protected which is a plus. I have to say the more the zoo ads on is more to learn about! I love it there♥️!!!!

William Valerio

Great place nice people the baboon didn't really like us.

Gradasso Saurel

Gorgeous zoo!! The animals were wonderful to see. Overall a great zoo. I would definitely take a family back there.

Kelley McHugh

This is such a great zoo. They maintain the all the exhibits really well. If you have little ones it's a great way to spend part of day.

Katelyn Swinton

Great service, friendly staff and amazing experience! We will definitely be visiting again!

Masuma Shabnam

Probably good. We went there a bit late and by that time the zoo was closed. I'm giving 5* for now until I visit it

Jeff Marchesiani

Michael Clancy

Nice zoo. Well maintained. Nice stretches of shade so you're not in straight sun on a nice day. Recomend going on a day in the mid 70's as most of the animals retreat inside when it's really hot. New rainforest attraction is really nice.

Ashley Dennis

It was ok slightly disappointing you need to pay full price when certain areas were closed due to the Halloween special and the soaring eagle is $12 per person for a ride that doesn't even last a minute is a rip off.

Camden Blair

Brought the kids here over the weekend here and they had a totally had a blast. Some amazing exhibits and animals on display.

Retro Beaver

One of the best or should I say the best zoo in all of New England because of its acreage and space for the animals. Also, a really nice restaurant on grounds.

Ann Winchell

Tara Rovero

Great for a smaller zoo. Staff was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. My daughter had a great time! Definitely will be back!

Michael Bassett

I didnt even go there

Kim

Pumpkin spectacular awesome. Well worth the price of admission. A must see!!

Lisa Scimeca

Roger Williams Park is a really great park to walk around and relax. The park has a zoo, history museum, garden, and more. This is a great place to spend the day with your kids. Parking is free and the zoo, museum, and other activities are reasonable priced. We had a great time exploring here.

Barbara Delfa

Cute little zoo that looks smaller than what it actually is.

Alicia Lanfear

Five Stars! Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. When we first arrived we were told about all different animals we could see, feed and even hold if we wanted. We are lucky enough to live only 30 mins away and I can't wait to go back with family and friends. All the animals looked very happy and well taken care of. It was so cool to just explore around and check it all out at your own pace. Cuddling with the baby kangaroo was my favorite part! This place is a hidden gem! Great for any and all ages!

conpheddie and carlos

It so fun I go there all the time the animals are great! Also there is a great pumpkin glow, I suggest that if you havent gone you should!

K Roselan

It's small, but it is a very interactive environment, perfect for children.

Dawn Bender

The Pumpkin Spectacular @ the zoo was fun as always. Lots of great carvings and themes to explore. Be prepared to wait in traffic to get into the park itself and then more waiting to find parking as it was very crowded.

rachael marie demeo

This is my favorite place. The animals always look so happy and well cared for. The staff are always super friendly and they have sloths! One just had a baby. If that doesn't hook you not sure what will... a baby giant anteater or a baby howler monkey!? They are new additions too! The best thing is getting up close to the elephants and giraffes in their home and being able to feed the giraffes for $5 I am not sure if myself or my daughter liked it more! It's never too busy that I've noticed and there are walking trails to get away from the hustle. Also have camel rides, and the carousel right near by as well as a Japanese garden, swan boats, Halloween festivals, the Easter bunny... something special every season!!

Kellee Strong

Great time with my niece. She enjoyed holding the kangaroo and feeding the other animals.

Levi Galloup

Beautiful and friendly environment

Richard Rosenbaum

Medium sized zoo, easy to get around seldom very crowded with a good variety of animals. Be sure to visit the red panda! Snow leopards, tree kangaroo, macaws, golden lion tamarin are some of the more unusual animals. Also has elephants, giraffes, a wolf and sea lions. No lions, hippos or rhinos.

Marla Darius

We haven’t gone to the Roger Williams zoo in at least 15 years. We brought the family on a recent vacation and everyone had such a good time. Plenty of walking trails, shady spots, benches to sit on and food or drinks if you get hungry or thirsty. We happen to go on a very hot day and the little wall with a waterfall is refreshing for cooling off. I saw plenty of little kids that were soaking wet after enjoying the water wall. The animals looked content, well fed and the cages or closed areas were clean. This is always been a beautiful zoo and we enjoy visiting.

Manoj Nagdev

Very good zoo. They have many events regularly. You can feed Giraffes, goats, cows.. Kids will love this place.

Tommy Marz

My kids (6yo and 1yo) had a great time at the zoo. The animals seem well cared for, the walkways are wide and well-paved, and everything is clean. The rainforest house in particular is absolutely amazing - there is a live sloth wandering the exhibit, and golden lion tamarins playing in the trees right in front of you. We will definitely be back.

Andrew Krens

Ashley Adams

Ray Mason

Amazing! This is well worth your time... Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Super chill and an overall wonderful family experience

Heather Sanders

Gorgeous zoo!! I have been to many, and this one is not the biggest or necessarily the best, but absolutely an amazing experience! They have an experience you cannot get elsewhere with their winding paths in the wetlands area to the bird enclosure you can walk through while the birds fly around you and the Tamarins chirp at you. Prices are good, lots of parking, and the park that extends before the entrance to the zoo is a great place to walk around and explore of picnic at. Fun for all!

A Pierce

We come here yearly for the pumpkin spectacular. This years was a bit disappointing( not enough on trend pumpkins) but every year no complaints the zoo is very well run, the animals always look clean and healthy.

The Man

Very friendly staff

chris ogrady

Good value visit for the whole family. We arrived 15 minutes before open and the proceeded through the park. Probably a 4-6 hour activity plus long stops or breaks. Park was well staffed and maintained. Many attractions and a place for kids to cool off in the water play area. I think the giraffes were the best.

Tiffany Floody

Pumpkins are 5 stars but the crowds of people who don't follow directions and blind you with the flash on their camera knock it down to 3 stars.

Ashley McColgan

Loved this whole experience. It is easy to see how loved these animals are

Stanley Eng

Moto Man

If you live in Rhode Island and have kids this is a good place to have a season family plus membership. Need to get the kids out of the house and run them around? The zoo. Want to feed you kid to the animals? The zoo. Where else are you going to find some moon bears or a cheetah? Not too much has changed over the years here, but the changes they have made seem for the better. The kids love the newer areas that have been added with the sheep and the farmers stand as well as the play area. If I were to change anything it would be the seal area. I feel like it's outdated and lacks the habitat homey feel.

Jessica Ahlquist

The Museum of History & Planetarium was very educational and a lot of fun for the kids!

Michael Donegan

This place is a gem with plenty to see even thought it might be considered smaller. I especially loved the atrium area; we were able to get up close to the small primates and parrots. We made sure to hit every spot to see and had a wonderful time.

Alicia Mance

Kristen Wright

Truly beautiful zoo and surrounding area. Great space to spend an afternoon, young or old. Lots of dining options and the gift shop was very nicely curated.

Stacey Miner

My grandson had so much fun here. I've been going since I was his age and although I miss the polar bear exhibit there are a lot of new things to do. Easily spend the entire day here between the zoo and the park ... And you can't leave without going on a carousel ride!

Aaron Edelson

I visited the zoo for the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular. It gets very packed on the weekend and takes around 20-30 minutes to walk through. They have very cool pumpkin carvings. There was also a food truck in the parking lot.

Becca

The baboon hated me, but otherwise, we had a good time here. Small, but cute.

alex doron

If you have kids - its a must. Lots of animals and fun activities to do, especially in the summer where you can go to the splash garden and the kiddos can enjoy water play. Lots of things to see and do, love the new exhibits they built with all the new animals. highly recommended.

kevin cabral

Great place to have a nice day or in my case night with the entire family. Went to the pumpkin patch with the family. Nothing but fun. Lights everywhere.

R U

My first and only visit to zoo in US. Enjoyed it. Best part is it gives a chance for kids to feed animals. Lots of variety animals.

Jo-Ann Sagat

Beautifully maintained animals and exhibits, clean and natural. Great for everyone from the young to the elderly. They are constantly adding new exhibits as well. Worth the trip to this small, but fantastic, zoo.

April Dunbar

Had a great time with my youngest son. Thought it was a great experience to be able to hold a baby kangaroo that was about 10 months old.

Cory Michaels

Wonderful staff, cool animals, small but a great time. Will be going back again for sure.

Eddie Pannone

Great zoo and constantly getting better. Love the rainforest and red pandas.

Ron Ballard

Andrea Gostyla-Williams

Jack-o'-lantern Spectacular is absolutely amazing this year. I've gone the past three years and each year has surpassed the artistic talent of the last. Breathtaking pumpkin artwork with great soundtracks to lead the way through. Beautiful!

Lee Timmothy

had a great time with the kids over the weekend. They loved it. pretty packed, but not as bad. took some great pics for the family album. heres to next year

Ian Rogers

Pass on the pumpkin “spectacular”. The only thing spectacular about it is the traffic to get into the place to see a show that gets smaller every year

Frederick Family Fun

Amazing. Go go go!!

Jennifer Brown

Perfect for small children

Ben Miller

Had a great time at the zoo. A lot of fun animals and not too big so you can see everything in an afternoon. The giraffes were all out and about. Great for the kids. The gibbons were also a hit. Food options were not great. One lunch place with basic foods. I saw an ad for a food truck day which I would hit next time. Parking lot was very full but decent turnover so didn't have to wait/hunt too long.

Kelly Bennett

It's a fun little place to go! The employees are nice.

Marc Coico

I've been going to this zoo since I was a kid. Very fond memories and more to come! I bring my daughter here now and its very special to me to share that with her!

Rebecca Winebrenner

My first time visiting for the jack o lantern festival. It was amazing! Highly recommend and would love to come back. As a Maryland girl, Rhode Island has shown me nothing but kindness.

TJ MAY

Great place for kids very interactive

A. les

Simply beautiful. Love how the park is sectioned into different themes.

Sandy V

Brought my niece and nephew here for the Jack-o-lantern Extravaganza. Might I say, we had a fantastic time!! Since it was the weekend before Halloween and the weather was perfect, we knew this place was going to be packed! We were really worried about parking and having to wait in line. But they were so organized!! It really wasn't a bad wait and parking didn't take too much time - no more than 30 minutes overall. There was beer and wine available for purchase [so smart, much needed with 1000 kids around] and snack stalls. The show was phenomenal! It was my first time seeing what this Jack-o-lantern Spectacular was all about. And it really was spectacular; kudos to the artists for carving out 5000+ pumpkins. 10/10 would do this again.

Paul Freedman

We enjoyed going to Roger Williams Park Zoo very much. We saw all the animals in their natural habitat and enjoyed it very much. We were there on a perfect weekend weather day so it was challenging to find a parking space, but we did. I enjoyed seeing the eagles and watching the animal eating the ice cream.

Jennifer Garretto

I loved this zoo! my 2 year old niece had so much fun!

DeClair Stone

It was AMAZING here.. I loved it here, my girlfriend brought me here for a date n it was WONDERFUL.. It really made me HAPPY too see the animals on the East Side since I live on the West Side..

Bamba Ndiaye

This park is wonderful. It’s more than 300 acres of beauty. It has lots of amenities including carousel for kids. Parking was not an issue and dogs are allowed as long as they are on their leash.

Ashish Gupta

Well maintained, one should go around the whole thing to appreciate the place. Some animals are really rare. Few activities for kids are included as part of general admission. Sitting area, drinking water and restrooms are plentiful especially towards the end. No free paper pocket maps. Can take pics on mobile or use the one below.

Drove over an hour one way to attend the Jack-O-Lantern display that was listed on the website to happen “rain or shine” only to discover they closed for the evening “due to weather.” It wasn’t even raining by the time the event was supposed to start (only earlier in the day). Just a simple visit to the weather app would show that it was only raining in the morning. We wasted time, gas, and a vacation night I’ll never be able to get back.

Michael George

We had an absolutely great time. What they lack in size they make up for in quality. They have llama, turkey, serval, baboon, goats, kangaroos (even a baby!!), various exotic birds, hedgehog, prairie dogs, badger, finnick Fox, tortoise and I know I'm forgetting some. The owner and staff are extremely knowledgeable and friendly and seemed genuinely interested in if we were having a good time. They have many animals wandering the grounds including a turkey nMed Charlie who might think he's a dog. If you don't pet him, he follows you around lol. There are also some really friendly bunnies, goats, and a crazy food stealing ostrich. Admission prices are low $10 per person, as were food cups ($1 and up) I would recommend any animal lovers give it a chance. 2019 update - we visited again and found it to be just as much fun as last year. It was nice to see the growth in the babies we got to visit last year. Highly recommend visiting.

The best array of animals out of all the zoos around. The ongoing protection efforts and the rehabed animals are a huge plus in my book!! This will always be my families favorite zoo :)

Always a great time at the zoo, from age 3 to 93 clean, open, plenty of places to sit and have fun for the whole family.

Anthony Dutcher

Great place for a family to experience animals up close and personal

Meg Delaney

I don't like zoos because my heart breaks for the animals in cages. THIS zoo, however is as close to the animal's natural environments as I've ever seen. The animals are SO well cared for and the grounds are spotless. A true destination for families of all ages!!

Irene Brennan

Went to Jack O Lantern spectacular! Was really nice but traffic was crazy!! Only thing that would deter from going again!!

Jason Hayes

Had a great time very nice family cute baby animals kangaroos to hold

We had an awesome time. Kids couldn't have been happier. If u want something great to do that's fun for all. Take the trip well worth it. Staff was so involved with animals and the guests. Sooo much fun..

Jennifer Sendling-Ortiz

This zoo is AWESOME. The animals are clearly well cared for, have lots of enrichment in their environment, plenty of beautifully-designed space, and happy caretakers :) Plus, there are docents galore if you or your littles are the inquisitive type! Great way to spend a day!

David Waag

What a great place! We took our grandkids and we all loved it! Highly recommended!

Lucas Lavallee

Went to see the jack-o-lantern spectacular.. it was pretty spectacular!

Definitely loved the place when I went last year. So many cute animals. The people who work there are fantastic and really nice! I’m definitely bringing more people with me to enjoy it this year! 10/10 recommended

I’m a little hesitant to post a negative review because this zoo is clearly a bit of a passion project and a family business for the owner operators, but my goodness was this an odd experience for me. I cannot recommend it, and will explain why. The animals were well cared for, but most of them with significant and visible boundary and entitlement issues. There were turkeys and goats and emus and guinea hens roaming around outside of cages, and once you had a cup of fruits and vegetables on you, several of them were quite aggressive about making sure you knew they deserved a piece. A particularly friendly goat got too close to my two year old daughter and made her fall and her shoe come off. The staff put him in timeout, where he very showily proceeded to push at the locked gate trying to open it himself. Clearly he had been through this routine a few times before. All animals, same species or not, seemed to be in competition for human attention and food. The baboon was especially frightening. He screamed very, very loudly when I fed the porcupine family next cage and not him, then when he perceived this type of slight continuing a bit too long, flew into a bit of a Simian rage and proceeded to run into one end of his cage, push himself off with all his might, and body slam towards the offending humans, MMA style. This terrified a little girl who was on the receiving end of this rage, making her burst into tears. My small children, on the tail side of it, were shocked, and spoke of how scary it was for days. My mom also got shoved a bit by an emu in the head. There was also a kangaroo who was the only male in his harem of female kangaroos and was the most psychotic, sleazy looking animal I had witnessed. I can’t quite even explain this one, because I had never felt this way about a non human before, but I distinctly felt that if he were a human he would be the kind of dude who boards a subway and gets off in being creepy to the other passengers. So...proceed at your own caution. Other reviewers seem to have enjoyed it. I personally felt as though I was visiting an island of misfit animals with some heavy undertones of psychosis/neurosis. In my 2 and 5 year olds words: “that was a scary zoo. Let’s go to a nice one next time.”

Christine Babineau

Can't believe what you can do with a pumpkin ! So amazing walking through there over 5000 pumpkins there hanging from trees ,off of a bridge as your walking over the water. The artwork is just so amazing I recommend this to everybody it is definitely worth the price of admission.

Daniel Rosini

Really neat medium size zoo. Great selection of different animals and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Great place to take kids of all ages

James Adams

Katie Campbell

AMAZING STAFF!!! The zoologists in red are eager to educate and they float around the zoo. We (my fiance and me) were approached twice in the Wetlands and at the giraffes. We had a great time! We do wish they had pandas but the adorable tree kangaroos made up for it!!!!!!

Tom Murphy

Big enough to have an interesting collection of animals, plants, bugs and birds. Small enough to complete an entire visit in 4 - 5 hours. Plenty of places to escape the sun and heat, buy water and snacks. Loads of areas to interact with various animals and a very welcoming staff who seem to be everywhere.

sonali kottalgi

My kids just love this zoo. . It is in excellent, well maintained and variety of animals are seen here from all over the world including rain forest and Australia too. Planning to visit again soon...

Kevin Chute

Jack-o-lantern spectacular was great fun and very cool!!

Reacquaint yourself so much is new. Awesome to just relax and smell the roses!

This park has it all The zoo, of course, is a great family option. The park itself has options such as a carousel and playground. The museum has lots of fun stuff too, and is only $3 for admission. There is also plenty of places to ride your bike and walk your dog if your so inclined.

Mark Baran

Really nice zoo. Good place to spend 3-4 hours. I would have given 5 stars but the workers really weren't all that friendly. While walking the park only one employee really seemed enthusiastic and simply said hey, how you doing....but it was nice. Was there with my wife & 2 kids and well all commented to each other about this. Enjoy Roger William's Zoo.

Best Zoo Ever!!! My family and I spent a rainy week at Lake Bomoseen in Vermont. The lake is beautiful but with the uncooperative weather, we needed to find new things to do. An accidental Google search led us to this hidden gem. We have been to many zoos, but no zoo has ever had the small, hometown feel with amazing animal interactions. I have paid triple the price for less of an experience. For the small entrance fee of $10, we entered the zoo and got to see all of the animals. For an extra $3 each, we were able to meet and cuddle 2 kangaroos (Oscar 5 months old and Pebbles 6 months old). For another $3 each, we went in to the aviary. From the baby goats and Zebra to new born hedgehog and porcupine, this zoo was an amazing educational experience. The owner was attentive and gave us lots of information about all of the animals. She also gave our son the opportunity to handle other animals that were not in exhibits. I can't say enough about the experience. It was definitely worth the 40 minute drive.

Hannah Luongo

Tyler Cipriani

A reasonably clean and fun zoo for family and friends. the exhibits are decently well designed so you are typically most likely to see the animal. A wide range of your standard animals. Negatives are it's very close to the highway and airport so there is a lot of background noise.

Jessica Marquis

I only visited for the Pumpkins but what an incredible sight. I'm blown away every year. It's SUCH a fun night out for families, there's so much to see, tons of tasty holiday snacks, toys for the kids to buy. Great night, great event.

Ben Roth

Really nice zoo with some great exhibits. The elephant enclosure really stands out, but all of the exhibits are large and well put together. Zoos can be a little depressing in my opinion but at their best they are meant to educate people on how we affect wildlife and I think this zoo does a great job of that.

Debu Tante

Love the zoo! It wasn't too crowded even though there were other groups there. The weather was perfect and the staff was nice. The monkey house is so cool! I kept telling the kids not to yell at the animals. Animals don't like it and it certainly makes them move farther away/harder to see. It would be great if there was an orientation session before heading into the zoo to teach kids how to interact with captive animals.

Carrie Cusker

This was such an awesome place! Friendly, knowledgeable people who genuinely care about the animals. The baby kangaroos were precious - such a treat to hold them! I also loved feeding the monkeys, goats, alpacas, emus, birds, and so many others! This is a true hidden treasure tucked away in the Adirondacks! Definitely plan to visit and make some amazing memories! Perfect for animal lovers looking for a unique, close-up, hands-on experience.

Pranoy Paul

Good fun for family with kids. It’s a good 2hrs fun exploring and watching animals. Tickets are reasonable. On-site food available for day out. Best part they don’t ripoff by charging for parking! A must visit for family will kidsz they sure to enjoy!

cheryl montgomery

Worst zoo I have ever visited. Not as many animals as a zoo should have. Very crowded hard to get a good look at the animals, they could have it more organized.

Andrea Symonds

The recent visit I had was literally the best time l’ve ever had there. Like most people from Rhode Island, I’ve been there plenty of times but their recent renovations have definitely made it a more enjoyable/memorable experience. My family had a great time! The only thing that I wish they still had from when I was a kid is the polar bear exhibit!!!!

Danielle Shively

Awesome place to visit!

Jose De Andrade

Great place to visit with children. They have made new additions within the past couple of years. Providence residences can go for free on certain Saturdays. Went on a group trip, pretty quick access. Food is expensive like resorts of this type; but great seating areas available if you bring your own lunch.

Trevor Barrett

Tanya Hall

Is a small, but fun place. Able to interact more directly with the animals than most zoos.

Laurie Heupel

The zoo is nice, lots of animals to see. The docents are helpful. Good to see their conservative programs and how they are helping with conservation of species.

Walter Argandona

Great place for kids! The people working there are very friendly and kind

Tim Jackewich

This was a very nice mid sized zoo, great for families with small children. The animals all looked happy and healthy, with plenty of space. The administration price was reasonable, but as expected the concessions were expensive. The one complaint we had was at lunch time we waited in line for almost 30 minutes for food. They only had 3 windows open out of 5 or 6. Overall it was a great visit and we'll definitely be going back in the future.

Lorraine Grillo

A great family outing! Our family had so much fun, great for kids and parents alike!

Matthew Marchitto

This was my first time going and I really enjoyed it!! The artistic skills needed to carve such amazing pumpkins

Kelly W

Cute zoo that is clean and accessible. The armadillo encounters are awesome and I would highly recommend that. The snow leopard enclosure is very nice; beautiful animals. Red pandas are the best! Not the biggest zoo but is good for small children. The price is good for what you get.

Matthew Towne

Bruce LeBeau

Nice place to bring the family.

dakota krouner

Great Zoo! Affordable, friendly staff, animals well taken care of... couldn't ask for more!

Lazarus Ameno

Really enjoyed seeing the cheetah so close and was able to see several different kinds of animals. My concern is I'm wondering if their enclosures are big enough. I also miss the polar bear that used to live at the zoo. I was told it passed away but they never replaced it with another.

Mike Cleveland

This place surprised me in a good way. Me and my family had a great time.

April French

Ellen Dark

The jack-o'-lantern spectacular is always such a fun event to go to!

Hannah Bailey

Matthew Sjoerdsma

Went during the Pumpkin Spectacular. Loved it! Highly recommend for the whole family.

Paul Goodchild Ph.D., CPA

I have a great time every time I bring the kids here. It is the perfect size zoo and the cost is reasonable. I enjoy the animals they have on display and all of the features they offer to get people safely close to the animals. It is good to see so many people employed there and what seem to be well cared for animals. Had to say the North American otters and the rain forest exhibit stole the show this time. I do wish they would stay open a bit later or offer evening events weekly (they might for members or other special events, but I'm only down in RI a few times during the summer), because the night cools off and many animals are nocturnal.

Tasha Hayden-Stub

I visited the zoo for the jack-o'-lantern festival. My first time and what an incredible event, full of artistry and wonder and magic. The detail and the obvious love that went into the event was breathtaking. I wasnt even aware of the zoo before this and am excited to go back. My only criticism would be the parking, while there was ample parking, the attendants were inept. When they weren't on their phones they were yelling at people for not following directions they were never given. I saw literally only one man doing his job while everyone else just sat around. They need to either hire older people to supervise the teenagers or hire professionals. I was very concerned there would be an accident, especially with the amount of small children running around.

Edward Rolland-Domenichello

This place would have gotten another star if they had any way to cool down. I get that it is a park and you should expect to be hot in the high heat of summer, but cooling misters throughout the park are an easy addition to make your guests that much more comfortable. No animals were out due to the heat, so that plus being crazy hot just added up to no fun for us. Maybe next time will be better!

Marion Jessen

Animals were so gentle,. We can see they are well cared for and love humans and Food! We spent almost 3 hours with them and can't wait to go back!

Joey Auto sales

I love it here with my family. We brought our new born 5 month old son and he had such a blast looking and learning and nature. Beautiful place never over packed plenty of room

Desireah Bills

We had a blast...admission was very affordable!

Keith Shillito

A nice zoo. Animals appear have a decent amount of space and don't appear stressed. The staff and docents were nice and informative.

I absolutely love roger williams the energy is amazing. I'm definitely coming here with my girlfriend

Jennifer Costanzo

David Homsy

Loved the Jack o Lantern Spectacular event that the Roger Williams zoo puts on. Highly recommended!

Adam West

Love this zoo. Always fun but always so crowded! Still the best around no doubt

walter smith

Anthony Dicomo

The animals are not well kept. Supervision of humans with animals was not maintained.

Darlene Williams

I absolutely loved this place the animals look content and healthy and when I say animals I mean at least a 100 different kinds of animals. Such as Elephants, Zebra's, Fish, Birds, Donkey's, Snakes just to name a very few. My son and I only had the chance to see about half the animals. Oh and also a great for kids including interaction and education. This place has so much to offer like food courts and little shops throughout the zoo. I WILL BE BACK.

Gracie D

We had so much fun. The staff is super sweet, it was awesome experience. we definitely will go back.

Eric Bello

mall but that was a good thing. I think the animals all looked healthy and content. I especially liked the animals that wandered around freely. What about that 1 star review by someone who didn't even go there? What a mormon. Loved my visit and so did my who got to hold the baby kangaroo. granddaughter

Renussia

Phil Goss

A nice visit if you have a couple hours before your flight.

Jennifer J. Mello

Love this zoo. Tons and Tons of animals, amphibians, reptiles, mammals. A very clean zoo. Easily accessible. Lots of parking. But this review was for the Pumpkin Spectacular. First time I have gone to this. It was great. Easy online checkout. Plenty of parking. Lives went fast. Really crowded. Yummy snacks. I bought a hot chocolate, hot cider, and fried dough. So many pumpkins to photograph. Very talented people.

Tammy Bruno

Family owned great place and extremely clean.

angie c

Great zoo! just big enough to be a full day of fun.

Patti Shaw

GO! This is a wonderful October experience! Extremely well done and choreographed. Appropriate for all ages.

Rosanna Mendez

I love this place because my son loves the animals and icecream! Unfortunately, I get a pang of sadness when I see the animals. Animals don't belong in zoo's...However, they do promote conservation and that I can get with. My son also loves the Big Backyard....Do it in the summer. They have a little water play area that all kids love. Also, save it for last as they will be wet and you don't want to walk around the zoo wet. Don't forget the sunscreen and swimwear! Bring your own food and beverage if possible, it's pretty costly inside the zoo. But definitely bring money for the ice cream and Del's Lemomade!

Ashley Moya

Beautiful zoo, although a bit small. I still really enjoyed it and can't wait to go back again!

Angela Putnam

Was great. Rookie was a little scary and the Tom Turkey but everything was awesome. Would recommend. Granddaughter loved it.

Shelly Bishop

Wyoming Rayne

This was a small zoo, but perfect for the animals! My daughter just loved holding the baby kangaroo. It was a very nice visit. Your visit helps keep the animals under good care.

Vivian Pazos

It was a great place to take kids. Small enough to see it all in one day. We saw animals we haven't seen at other zoos. All in all a great family outing. The surrounding Roger Williams parks is really beautiful as well.

Sean OConnell

Still a great Zoo after many years, and has made so many new additions including many kid-friendly activities such as feeding the farm animals and a new park to play around in! We also got 50% off our tickets because my grandfather was a veteran! So many animals to look at in there now, the only thing I miss from when I was a kid was the dinosaur exhibit they used to put up in the summer! Great times with many opportunities to see unique animals around the globe!

Denise Huelsman

Absolutely an adorable little zoo ....

Seean Weaver

Roger William's is one of the best zoo's I have been to. It is always clean and the staff is usually very friendly. We've been in good and bad weather and it's a completely different experience with what the animals are doing. Plus the not so great weather keeps the crowds away. We'll definitely keep coming back.

Mark Brousseau Jr.

Great day trip with the kids. We went with children 1-14 years old, they all had a blast.

Stacey Schrader Gellings

Family friendly, handicap accessible. Animals appeared well cared for and their environments/enclosures clean. Only compliant was that the gentleman selling the tickets had a difficult time adding. I knew to watch as I was paying attention to customers in front of me. It took an extended amount of time in line because of this.

joseph miller

My Nephew was married here and it was really a classy wedding.thats him with best man before the wedding had started

Lois Larmer

It was really cool! Animals and staff were Great!!!

Brad Morawski

It's a fun little place. Could do without the porta potty bathroom. It's small but it's a $10 zoo.

Tina S.

It is a small zoo but worth the adventure if you have kids. You can purchase food to feed the animals and also hold baby kangaroos. The staff was welcoming and helpful.

Tan Chung Foong

Megha Sharma

Staff member was humble and helpful but the zoo was Very Very Very small. Need to pay attention towards cleanliness and hygiene of the zoo.

cathrine collins

Most of the trees have lost there leaves but what had remained were so pretty to look at.Enjoyed my day there.

Mireya C.

Went here with our family and loved the zoo. They let animals roam around so you can pet them. The only star taken away was for the baboon they have caged. That animal is extremely aggressive, rightfully so and to be expected, for such a small, close to people, enclosure. It hurled 2 corn husk at me so fast and with such force and it went right through the bars both times. It could have easily taken out an eye or done major damage if its aim was a tad better. I feel that particular animal should not be on displace and it's a disservice to keep him there. He needs to be sent to a bigger zoo with a much bigger enclosure not so close to people. It's a liability for this small family run zoo at well. Other than that, I think everything else is great and the staff is friendly and bond well with the animals from what I could see.

Erika Markson

Brendan Murphy

Fun for all ages! Watch out for the wandering Emu, he will try to sneak up and steal your animal food that you buy to feed the animals!

Mary Greene

The Jack O Latern Spectacular was amazing! Worth the money.
