REVIEWS OF Wildlife Safari IN Oregon

Super exciting! We signed up for the giraffe feeding and it was so worth it. We were amazed with how many wild animals we were able to see. Definitely something everyone should go do.

Joel Skok

We were there in 1986 and had an interesting experience unwittingly feeding a camel from our car. I was minding my own business eating a banana with the window of our car down half way due to the heat of the day. I was not paying attention and honestly did not see a double humped camel approach when it smelled the banana (I think) Quick as could be, it snatched the floppy upper half of the banana and slurped it down. Bad table manners, but funny none the less. We enjoyed the park, just wish we had more time to visit the chimp pavilion.

Jasmine Edwards

Beautiful experience, animals appeared to be well cared for and the paintings provided for enrichment purposes were wonderful. We will be making this a regular family trip for us, well worth the drive from California. We will never be a "zoo" family, and this is why! I highly recommend the animal encounters and the paintings if you can afford it, 100% of the animal painting proceeds go to the animals there. The staff were friendly and educated, everything was very clean and well maintained. We did the lion encounter, elephant encounter, train ride, and camel ride! Very glad places like this exist, all these animals need our help <3

Jeff Bonnichsen

We loved the trip. The drive through the park was a lot of fun. The emu and the buffalo did conspire to slow us down but that was awesome too. We also did the cheetah walk and that was a high point for the year. Amazing.

Aedan Edward Uyenco

This place had an amazing village with a petting zoo area, many other animals to view plus had an area where birds could fly onto you. There was also a drive zone where you would drive around to see larger animals as well as feed animals half way through

Marty Flansburg

Great place to spend a few hours, whether it’s a stop along the way or the destination of your trip. We seem to somehow have bad timing and miss most of the shows, but the ones we’ve seen have been entertaining and educational. The drive around the property looking for animals is fun. Some people get frustrated when trying to spot them all, but seeing them on the range is better than just seeing them in a concrete cage. We’ll be back again.

James Charles

I went with my dad and it was very good the animals are very well taken care of and treated good and very healthy and muscular And I myself liked the... elephants, monkeys, giraffes, rhinos, hippos, and the ostrich (and if you brought bread or crackers you get to feed it ).Another + is that you get to go wherever you want. You can roam free in your car. It's very worth the money

Jenny Dillon

Defiantly not something you get to do everyday! Kids loved getting to see all the different animals! The $5 to feed the deer was well worth it!

Debra Johnson

I brought my family here to drive through the park. We also did 2 animal encounters. I will tell you I paid full price for them. It wasn't too expensive until I found out that they have AMAZING Groupons out. I could have cut the cost by more than half. They are worth it. You can drive through more than once. It's a great thing to do as animals are active at different times. Most of the staff was friendly.

Absolutely Amazing!!!! Way better than I could have hope for. I definitely recommend checking out this gem.

Driving the 4.5 mile dirt road throughout the park to view the various animals was awesome. I saw two Sumatran tigers less than 10 ft.away from auto while they played in their enclosure. The lions had a somewhat small enclosure considering the size of the pride; it seemed inadequate size for them to pace and built only for viewing purposes.I felt sorry for the rhino and cougar because they did not have another of the same species to keep them company and they appeared bored and lonely. The other animals had a minimum of one pair up to several in a herd to keep them company. I suggest turning off your cars ignition when stopped to view/feed the animals lest we humans contribute to the animals health maladies by exposing them to exhaust fumes from all the vehicles that come into close contact with them. Overall, a great value when purchased via Groupon.

Michael Boyd

My grandfather and my dad literally help build this place. They gave my grandfather a golden pass... Free for life to him and his family, forever.... They no longer accept that.... Which would be ok. (I personally didn't build it and I …

Madison

This place was great!! I got to see a huge variety of animals!

Lori Seaton

We have not been here for a very long time. It was awesome.

J M Reed

Awesome park. We are mobility challenged and it is wonderful to be able to visit a zoo from your own car.

A B

So many cool animals! They let you drive your own car on the road through the animal habitats which is really fun. You can even feed some of them out your window with food they will sell you. Animals have plenty of room to roam. Overall very cool experience.

S P

Great experience but honestly sad way to live caged and lonely.

Went on February 17,2019. We had the cheetah and the elephant experience had our pictures taken With them. Learned a lot about what Wildlife Safari is doing for the species. It was a great experience! All the animals were loving the sunshine today. Lemurs were playing with a nutria On their island. Doing the yoga pose by the sun was out . The white rhinos or bending heads and walking up to the car given us a thrill! The Walliroo went and hopped towards me and around the courtyard. Pink flamingos right when we were leaving started bathing got some awesome pictures with water beating down their face getting wet as much as they could splashing everywhere . African gray crowned crane came right up to our car window got some awesome pictures. North American elk cow came right up to our car practically touch the hood and just came around towards the window and then went off to the herd what a thrill! The zebras were walking along the top of the hill looking over the compound. Great shots with my zoom! Even the male lions were moving around, one started using a fallen tree as a scratching post. All the staff were polite and very helpful during our stay.

Donny Parker

WOW!!! Such an awesome adventure. I never knew that something this awesome existed. The entire tour was breathtaking and commanded the attention of every one with us. This is worth the drive no matter where you are driving from because the experience will change you for life.

Heather Knightson

Kids 2 and under are free, $13.95 for 12 and under, adults are $19.95. Better in 5 passenger cars where you can roll all the windows down!

Torrie Thompson

Loved the Experience! Especially Calvin the Camel. My Grandaughter and I Loved it! She is 2. We still talk about it all the time. She and I will never forget the experience.

Joannie Jenkins

Getting back to nature the "wild" way. Wonderful relaxing drive through the park. Go at your own pace. Seeing these creatures up close is breathtaking. We went on the giraffe tour and to the elephant watering hole. Highly recommend.

Alice Mullins

I love this place animals look happy and well taken care of my husband and I got to feed the tigers such involved tossing the meat into the cage through a shoot then stepping back while the handlers let them into the den I do recommend this place to go and have a beautiful day they do let you go through twice just Incase you go and some of the animals aren’t where you can see them

Shannon Patterson

My family loved it

David Gibson

My 7 year old had a blast and the place was clean and beautiful. The animals seemed happy and healthy.

Terry Lamphear

the Safari Drive is unique and something you don't get to experience every day. Bring your own lunch there are plenty of places to sit and eat. The meal choices there are limited and quite expensive. The Safari costs to get in. Look for Groupon coupons. There is parking across the central area across from the parking area is free to go into. There are displays of animals and playgrounds and other things like camel rides which actually cost. Get feed cups as there is a area where you can feed the animals. Feed cups can be gotten for less money on Groupon. Feed cups are $5 in the Safari.

John Smartt

The staff are friendly, the park is well kept and layed out perfectly for touring. We had an Ostrich come right up to the window of the car. We didn't use or visit any of the facilities but feel that the price we paid for the drive through tour was well worth it. A must see if you're driving through southern Oregon.

Dimitry Kopets

This place is wonderful for a family trip. We stopped by along the way on our road trip to CA. It's not far from I-5 and it gives the closest wild animal experiance in the PNW. You drive your car on designated paths while animals walk around. I would recommend this place to everyone.

kali sanchez

We really enjoyed this stop. Lots too look at. We had our 2 year old GSD with us and they provided kennels for your pup. It was hot out so it was nice we didn't have to leave her in the back of the truck. The drive around safari is a little expensive but we all had a wonderful time looking at rhinos, elephants, cougars, lions, birds, we were able to feed birds and deer and that was awesome. We watched monkeys swing around and a hippo lounging in the water. The staff was really friendly.

Teresa Anderson

Love taking my grand daughter here. She is 4 and her eyes just light up and sparkle when she walks thru and feeds pets and looks at the animals! !!

Michelle Zamora

Absolutely amazing! We highly recommend visiting! Our highlights include: riding Frank the camel, having a rhino walk literally right in front of our car, facing the deer & ostrich, and admiring the behaviors of the beautiful brown bears! We also enjoyed the Lion feeding excursion for $40 more. The prices are so reasonable, friendly staff, numerous animals, many activities and a great hotel nearby (Wildlife Inn). Advice: go with a full tank of gas (you can drive thru as many times as you want), we took snacks and drinks (drive thru is about 1-1.5 hours). GO THE BATHROOM BEFORE YOU DO THE DRIVE THRU

Dallas Howard

I have to admit that I was very skeptical before coming here. But my wife as she usually does convinced me and I really enjoyed myself. The animals were actually very entertaining and when you do the drive you get really close to the animals and some of them will even come up to your window which calls for a very great time. I would definitely recommend. You can also do an encounter which I would definitely recommend as well it is worth the money and it also goes to a great cause!

Sarah Kupfer

One of our favorite things to do is go to the Safari. If you buy a yearly membership its a much better deal and then you can go as much as you want. We visit at least once a month. It's a great family day trip.

Jhony DePaz

Beautiful place. Friendly staff, I loved everything. Really nice experience.

tina shaw

I think this place is great, my grandsons love this place.

Jill Day

We took our 6 year old grandson and he loved it. We did the drive-through first thing because it was cooler in the morning and so more animals were out. It was fantastic to have buffalo, emus, deer, and others animals come right up to the car. We loved that experience. Also took the train ride. It was okay, but very short and we'd seen all of it or most of it when we did the drive through. Our grandson also did the camel ride and loved it, and we did the elephant experience and got to pet the elephant's trunk. Overall, wonderful experience. With Groupon coupons, for the three of us, the cost was $120, which I thought was pretty reasonable. Highly recommend.

Adventure Mckinley

It has been years since I have been here but I remember it to be a fun and enjoyable place. My older children remember this as fun memories. I remember Bears wrestling about I also remembered your giraffes.

sameer swain

Though the name says Wildlife Safari, there is not wild enough in this place. But a nice place. You can see Zebra, Giraffe, Rhino, Elephants, Tiger and Cheetah along with deer, bear, Ostrich and Bisons. Amount you pay for this is too high. You can visit the free stuff in the entrance, those are good for kids. Learning program is good for kids, you can feed the goat, horse and sheep

Daphne Loose

The drive thru safari was nice. You can go through it twice on a ticket. That is the only part that you have to pay for, the rest is free.

Julia Kolbeck

Great place to visit. Our whole family really enjoyed the drive thru safari.

Laura Elizabeth

Friendly staff and very knowledgeable! I did the cheetah and elephant encounters, lots of fun but wish there was more time with the animals. Maybe 15 minutes.

Joel Skok

Dana Gorniak

One of the few things to do in roseburg. I prefer the walk thru but the drive is also nice. The year pass is Defiently worth it if you live in douglas county and have kids. I love getting to see and feed the animals up close and see how well the staff cares for the animals. You can see they are cared for and not exploited. I love this place and recommend over and over at the hotel i work for.

Sean Moraffah

I was brought here on a recent trip to Oregon and I’m so glad I went. This is one of the best zoo experiences ever. It’s reasonably priced and there’s so much to do. You can have incredible hands-on experiences with animals. We started by walking around the free portion of the zoo. So many animals to see! The Australia section of the park has a parakeet enclosure. Here you can have fun with tiny birds flying on your shoulders and possibly into your pockets. For $1, you can purchase a food stick to feed them. It was one of the most exciting parts of our day. Next, we had a quick bite at the snack bar. A hot dog and chips for just $5.50. Popcorn for $2. They don’t overcharge at all. Great value here. Not many gluten free options, other than a few snacks (popcorn, chips, nuts, snow cones). Afterward, we had an appointment for giraffe feeding. For just $25 per person, you get to hand feed lettuce to a giraffe. How cool is that? Similar experiences in California cost over $150 per person. We ended our time at Wildlife Safari by doing the drive through experience of the park. It takes about 45 mins to an hour, but is so worth it. Here you can also purchase feed cups for $5 each. You get a cup full of animal food. The deer and emu absolutely love it and will eat right out of your hands. I don’t recommend hand feeding the emu, though. Let them eat from the cup because their razor sharp beams can cut. The next time I’m in this part of town, I’d like to visit Wildlife Safari again. Such a cool experience!

While the park is nice, I was provided conflicting info and overcharged. I bought tickets for 4 ($20 each) to the feeding of the cheetah and maned wolf plus 2 paw paintings by the maned wolf ($20 each) for a total of $120. At the end, the maned wolf only completed one paw painting and the staff that feed the animal said that I can go back to the office and pick the second paw painting from the extra ones that they have in the office. Then when we went back to the office, the staff there said that I would have to pay the full price to the gift shop for the second paw painting. This part is ok for me as they have no control over the animals and I accepted their suggestion for a refund of $20. However, they said they have to keep my original receipt of $120 for the refund and ended up charging me $20 more instead of refunding me $20 which I found out a week later after leaving the US. While each of these events can be single misunderstanding, unexpected incidences, or simple mistakes, when they all happened to me in my only visit, they had sort of tainted my memory for that day.

Kate Bakina

Fun to feed the animals in the end, the park village is very clean, but train rides, and camel rides, and some part of the village where you walk, unfortunately, were under construction.

Cindy Phillips

Always love going through and seeing all that I can see. Today I had 2 18 years old boys and a 4 years old boy. The little guy had never gone through the drive through. Was excited for his new experience. Thank you.

Nancy Grumbley

I love this animal park. You can actually spend the amount of time you want observing the animals. Morning was a great time to visit animals were up and moving.

Kristen Mun

So many great animals! Staff was knowledgeable and nice. Great for kids and adults. You'll want to plan at least a couple of hours. We did the lion and tiger experience and not the driving tour, so worth it. We got to see those big cats up close and personal.

Rob Wirz

Nice experience to drive through wildlife area by car

Ivan Tarapov

Enormous grounds, plenty of animals at the drive through and a also very neat. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Recommend planning 4 hrs or so for the visit and if you're with kids, start with the village to ride the trains. Great value for the money, highly recommended

trenchcoatbob1

Got a deal on Groupon and had a great time.

ishan balar

Waste of time.. Waste of money... Not worth going there... Its turns into zoo where u can drive thats it... Not getting experience like safari..

Hoang Huyae

The great wildlife Safari I have seen so far. My kids had a good time and an amazing experience there. Wishing they will have more species in the future. Tip: you can save 50% by finding a online ticket. There is no T-Mobile network there. Highly recommend.

Jarrod Reeves

This place is amazing. All the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable plus you get to see animals closer than you ever might in your life. We got to ride a camel, pet and elephants trunk, plus see all kinds of amazing animals super close to our car. Well worth it and will defiantly be coming back.

Carmen Woitas

Always love this stop!! Great helpful staff. The park is different every time we go through depending on the year. Great fun feeding the deer and emu - there were 2 baby emu...soo cute! New elephant exhibit is so nice. Went in the mid morning and the animals and the cats were very happy and walking around. Walking through the small animals was fun too. Feeding the farm animals was great for the kiddos! The gift shop is always fun with art from the animals. We grabbed a hippo kiss this time. Last time we grabbed elephant art. Thanks for having a fun place!

Kevin Woods

This is a great experience. This location is 3 hours south of Portland. Cost $20 per adult for the safari and $15 per child. The safari takes 1.5 hours and you are in your own car. You get pretty close to the animals. Some sections sell feeding cups for $5 and the animals stick their heads through your window. They have free exhibits. They have personal encounters where you can get close to the animals for about $20 per person.

prathap k

It awesome. You can see most of the animals in the world

Harley Cat

Tigers were anxiously pacing around in a small enclosure. Big cats and monkeys do not have enough space here. EDIT: your website shows that you have tamarin monkeys! I saw them. They are trapped on a little island in a jungle gym. How can you deny having them? Your facility has a lot of land that isn’t being utilized. There is a lot of potential. I don’t see any reason for certain animals to be kept in tiny zoo-like cages. Please create proper enclosures for these animals. I feel so sad for them and am wondering about them.

Hoang Huyae

Wonderful, informed staff that are always ready to answer questions a d help.out! Loved the opportunity to see many of these animals for the first time and up close! My grandchildren were in awe most of the time! Great time had by all ages and we will be back!

Tammy L. Long

Lived only 2 hours away and lived in Oregon over 20 yrs, 1st time going here a couple of months ago. Had a lot of fun, clean, friendly staff. Feeding the animals in a certain area of the drive thru was a hoot!! Totally cracked us up in our cargroup. Watch out for them emu's!!

Joanne C

We had SO much fun! If you bring a pet, the kennels were not too bad, were shaded and water was provided. Plan on longer than two hours! Go early too, so the animals are not all hiding in the shade. Don't skimp, buy the feeding cups! Take your time, bring binoculars, and take a ton if pics! The walk thru area is fun, with more animals and a petting zoo. Be sure to check out the pics from the past. We loved it all. I am disappointed I couldn't have my kiddos ride an elephant, like I did as a kid. BUT you can feed a lion, a giraffe and more! Spendy, of course, so go to Groupon, like I should have done and FORGOT to do. All in all, a memorable experience we all enjoyed. We got lucky in the bear exhibit. The Rangers were there, getting them ready for a thing, so they had them all over by us, eating grapes, hamming it up for the cameras.

Rick Rose

A tired wildlife sanctuary that needs quite a bit of updating. Was disappointed that a facility that claims to be the best at breeding cheetahs only had one cheetah on display.

Doug Falke

We had a great time with our for kids age 7 and under. Certain parts were a little slow but we enjoyed seeing the variety of animals. Our kids liked the lions and bears but probably enjoyed feeding the deer the most. I recommend checking Groupon for any deals. We went on a Wednesday morning and it was pretty slow.

Dennis Carlson

I am really concerned about the size of the tiger cages. Tigers can jump really high and with a running start they could easily jump over the fences. Is there any way we could make the cages smaller... just kidding this place is awesome and our kids had so much fun!!!

Indyca Noodle

I was the most excited to see the Elephants, it was what I was looking forward to the most. The view from the car was horrible at every angle no matter what way the elephants were facing or what part of the road you were on. I was extremely disappointed, couldn’t even at least get a good picture.

Jamesp McDaniel

We really enjoyed the car tour of the park. Lots of wild animals to photo graph. We enjoyed the Bears andfar Cheetahs. The park is very well kept and the animals look well taken care of. Thank You Wild life Safari

Shelly Maloney

Went to the safari today and enjoyed our time, however super sadened for the brown bears as they were in terrable shape! One could barley walk, one had horrible wounds on its back side and they just looked miserable. Really wish after all these years of coming to the park it would be nice to see the brown bear enclosers grow. Also hated to see that you are using your camels for rides!

Carmen Woitas

Robert Littrell

Definitely a fun place to visit. And you can enjoy it rain or shine from the comfort of you own car. Animals roam somewhat freely here. Friendly and helpful staff. We take our kids at least once a year. They love the petting zoo.

Patty Good

I absolutely loved everything about it. So much FUN!! It made this old lady feel like a kid again!

Mark Nicholson

What a great place! It is kind of like a zoo but the animals have so much more space. Excellent way to get close to (some) animals

Mary Beth Averill

I enjoyed the drive through the animal park. The group I toured with went on a weekday in April and felt that the road was crowded at times. We commented on how much worse the crowds probably are on weekends or in the summer. For the most part, the animals seem to be well taken care of, with space to roam. The exhibits were conservation oriented. The snack bar was much better than I expected--the food was good and the prices were reasonable. Staff throughout the park were pleasant and helpful.

nate cas

Had a great time here! You can buy half price tickets to get in online before you go, they definitely honor them. Worth the 5 mins to save that kind of money. You can feed the animals for $5 a cup so bring money, it's super fun. Great staff here as well.

Daniel Cazan

Just went there and oh my goodness, this is what all.. Don't wanna call it a zoo.. 'animal viewing places' should be. The animals are obviously loved, well treated, respected, plenty of room to run, and being kept for all the right reasons. And being able too see them from so close.. Perfect! Just don't let the ostrige stick it's beak in the car, those things will rob you >< Seriously though, worth the drive and the support

Jared Nissen

What a fun place. Our kids had a blast. Definitely do the drive thru park early cause it gets crazy busy later in the day and take extra money to feed the animals because that is the best part!

Cameron Duncan

Very well maintained. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We loved the drive through and the walk through. What a unique place to visit! Keep up the awesome work you guys!

L. Culv

Great family day park, always something different to see. The walk through area has a real nice playground and easy to see all in a short amount of time. Also, fun place for kid birthday parties.

Jack O'Lantern

Great safari, better than Disney World's safari bus trip. The walk through area is free and has lots to see. Our family always has a great time. Save money on tickets with Groupon.

Angela Sandberg

We loved it!

Noah Kelley

Perfect place to go visit. The drive-thru the kids thoroughly enjoyed they loved the giraffes. Even on a tight budget The Village walkthrough is free, and you can take a picnic lunch and eat it in the picnic area to the left of the parking lot with hiking trails for a small hike for the children.

Martha Barrand

Great place to visit, lots of animals

Anonymous Fox

Driving through the park I could see the animals were well taken care of, almost every animal was roaming around, Except for dangerous ones like: Bears, Lions, Tigers, And small ones like monkeys; Over all a really great place to take children and friends alike. Edit- The Cheetah Encounter was overpriced just to take a photo with an animal you couldn’t touch. The Paw print painting were made by the cheetah itself; The employees just let it walk all over it until it was “done” It didn’t even look like a paw print it looked like someone had rubbed paint all over a canvas and called it “art” The rest of the park is almost great, The monkey Island is kind of weird, Overall this is a great park; With over 50 species of animal- Definitely recommend just stay clear of the cheetah encounter.

KAM MEE

Let me start by saying this was hands down the best place to take all ages! If you aren't from the area and a family of 4 BUY THE YEAR MEMBERSHIP! You'll spend over 80 just for the drive thru safari but only $30 more you can get a yearly pass that you can get discounts on food while you're there (and if you come back), free train rides, discounts on camel rides, discounts on gifts and the best part.. between 50%-100% off admission on tons of zoos across the world! Definitely worth it! My family and I got there at about 10:30. We purchased tickets on Groupon for the elephant exhibit which was at 1:30. We stayed busy the whole time! Checking out all the exhibits. The flamingos are so close, the food is amazing and a great price, and you can get up and close to all species of animals. That isn't even getting into the drive thru safari. We were bussed to the elephants and you have the option to purchase a painting that Tava the Elephant will paint for you that's only $20. Once we got back we decided to get icecream, ride the train that takes you on a short and comfortable 8-9 ride with the guide that was full knowledge then we headed to the drive thru safari! It was over an hour and half! The animals were so close! So much better than trying to take a picture with tons of people like you would a zoo You also get an option to purchase food for the deer, emu's, and other animals and feed them from your vehicle. Honestly one of the coolest experiences ever!

Kevin Woods

This is a great experience. This location is 3 hours south of Portland. Cost $20 per adult for the safari and $15 per child. The safari takes 1.5 hours and you are in your own car. This place was so much fun! The original plan was to go to Crater Lake but since it was hazy and smoky we were left looking for something else to do in the area. I luckily found this place after doing some research and also happened to find a Groupon deal which made it even better. I think the price came out to be $23 for a two adult deal and $12 for one adult since we were three people. Once we got there they told us we could finish the whole safari in one hour (at 10 mph speed) if we didn't stop along the way. We ended up staying a lot longer than that, closer to 2-2.5 hours. I would definitely recommend going earlier on in the day because many of the animals were hiding in the shade when we went and it was hard to see them. But nonetheless, we got to see many more that made up for it. Most animals were loose but animals like bears, tigers, lions, and cheetahs were in enclosed areas understandably. The best part was the feeding area, where they sell these little pellets for $5 a bucket and then the deer and other tall birds come up to your car so you can feed them. We probably spent half an hour just feeding them because it was so much fun. Beware of the large birds though. They will snap at you for the food and try to put their whole head in the car. The deer were absolutely adorable and eat from your hand very gently. I would take some wet wipes so you can clean your hand and car afterwards because there was pellet powder everywhere. This park is very well maintained and I would definitely recommend it to anyone look for something to do in the Crater Lake area.

Gerardo Pacheco

Everything was great until the end. I couldn't believe that you have this beautiful place with the safari and the animals freedom meanings and at the end you have a zoo? Remember the zoo are jail for animals! Why do you have to ruin such a beautiful place with a small zoo at the end?

Savannah

I loved it. It was a nice place to stop and not to busy. Also all the animals seemed well cared for and nice. Perfect for family's.

Kari Morrow

The Safari has accessibility for everyone. The village is free to walk thru so if you don't want to spend a lot if money you can always see a lot there. The drive thru part is always an experience and you see something different every time. While it's not cheap it's worth the experience and if you think you might go there more than once with your family a membership is the way to go. The prices are similar to other zoos and aquariums. No surprise there. One of the great things is they have several picnic areas so you can bring your own food but they have a restaurant too if you rather. You can always spend the day, 1/2 day or just a few hours. We enjoy the Safari every time and we have been there many times, it never gets old.

What an amazing experience! Right next to the animals. Kids loved it!!

Bassam Coury

Beautiful and well maintained! Great place to spend few hours.

Udhara Kaluarachchi

Awesome experience. We went their around noon, but wish we could come littler earlier. Because most animals were sleeping. So I would recommend to visit in the morning. Highly recommended to travel with kids. No seat belt required and even kids can go in front seats !! Feeding deer was fun, but emu were scary :). There is a small play area for kids, cafe and gift shop. So good place to have a snack and ice cream at the end of your safari

Chris M

Great spot for the kids. The feeding experience was spendy for what you get. Could have given our group two buckets of lettuce. We definitely would come back.

Justin Shields

Loved being able to drive through in our own vehicle and at our own pace. The best part was when the giraffes walked right past our car, it sort of felt like we were at Jurassic Park. Turns out we were at a place better than J.P.....we were at Giraffic Park Wildlife Safari!!

Andrea F

I came a few years ago and a large bird got on my car and pooped on it! Only kidding, but I kept having visions of that happening. I have actually been here twice, the first time was in November when the bears were hibernating, so I was unable to see them, so I went back in the spring and was able to see them. I have only done the drive thru part. I went by myself both times, and spent several hours both times just sitting and watching. Amazing! Large spaces for the animals to meander, separate areas to keep enemies apart. You are warned to keep your windows up when you go into areas where the animals want to eat you for lunch. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful.

michelle s

Lots of fun. Bought a groupon and definitely worth the drive and price. Takes a good 1.5 hours to drive around the safari. Can go around twice if you want. Also have a area to walk around take camel rides and train rides. All the animals were out if you go in the morning they are being fed. Kids loved it

Evan Davis

Drive through zoo. It was fun. The driving portion of the zoo took us about 90 minutes. There are a lot of animals and they are relatively easy to see. If you like ostriches, they like to be obstructions on the road. Two-thirds through the drive they let you buy some food. The Emus are especially eager to eat the food and might startle younger kids. If you're lucky you can find smaller birds nearby to feed. After the drive you are not done. The safari village is a mini-zoo with an upper and lower sections. There are many smaller animals here that you wouldn't be able to see on a drive-through safari. We spent another 2 hours there. We didn't ride the camels, but we did ride the train and play with the parakeets.

Valerie Anderson

Today was our second trip to Wildlife Safari. Obviously, we liked it enough to return! Beautiful countryside, happy and healthy animals, up-close and personal encounters, conservationism and FAMILY friendly. What's not to love?! We drive down from Vancouver the night before (both times we've come in the spring and it's been glorious!), and hit the park first thing in the morning to avoid the crowds, and paid the extra money for the animal 'encounters'. It really worked for us! The us is me, a single mother and a 13 year old son. It's hard to pull a teenager away from his devices! But an ostrich poking his head in your car window, feeding a giraffe out of your hand, and touching an elephant's trunk; well, let's just say, he was ENGAGED! Even though he is older, he still enjoys the Village with the petting zoo, the 'zoo-like' exhibits, and the FOOD, of course. I have to feed MY beast, after all. I have a few criticisms that I hope they will read and take under consideration: 1) When purchasing an animal 'encounter', the process is reduced to several pieces of paper and a couple people scribbling names and numbers onto them, which later are to be deciphered by another docent?, employee?, volunteer?, who is responsible for up to 50 people. You have computers! Use them! A simple Excel spreadsheet, or a tablet with a program that creates a list and prints it out for all the drivers. How hard could that be? I know you're all about the animals, people, but, technology is our friend. 2) When the printed material says the Elephant Encounter is for "no more than 20 people" and there are at least 50 people at the event... Sorry, that would be false advertising. Change your printed material, or stick to the limit of 20 people. We still really enjoyed the Elephant 'encounter' but not sure we would do it again. Overall, I highly recommend Wildlife Safari.

Aspen Bernier

They take good care of the animals and you get to see them in almost natural habitats. Much better than any zoo and the money you spend goes to the care of the animals. I love this place!

M. Hawes

This is a fantastic place to visit bbn other adults and children. Always clean.

DRIVE IN: As far as animal Care, they really do a good job at giving them room to roam. Water sources for the animals are available all over the place. While we were there the ostriches got very close to our vehicles, but other than that the animals were pretty far away and there was sometimes 10 minutes between seeing anything. I don't think the drive was worth $20 a person. I'd get $20/vehicle, but over half the drive is just your regular GP/Roseburg drive through the woods. WALK THROUGH: I don't know if we just came at a bad time or what, but very few animals were out and everything but the $5 train ride and gift shop was closed. The most exciting/active thing was the coy fish in the lemur pond, and a normal wild duck flying by. We couldn't see the Lions or many of the other animals (which makes sense because most of the animals would be awake at night). The walk section was also much smaller than expected. There is also a small not-so-petting zoo (warnings are up that animals may bite). I was not impressed with the elephant enclosure. It was mostly bars and concrete. Didn't seem natural at all. They still do good with enclosures in general though. :) WHEELCHAIRS: the front is wheelchair accessible, but when you actually get through there are mini train tracks riddled all over and some of them are extremely difficult to get a wheelchair across. There are gravel only areas and the wolf lookout wall is too high for most in wheelchairs to see over it. YOUNG KIDS: my 2 year old kinda liked it, but with so many animals hiding there wasn't much to see. It was extremely busy, and there was a super tiny frog stuffed animal (could fit in my palm) in the gift shop for $13. Overall, I would recommend visiting Wildlife Images with younger kids. It is less expensive, you get a guided tour and get to ask questions. You usually get an animal encounter at no extra cost and the money supports animals that are going to be rehabilitated and the ones you see which can't go back into the wild (they tell you all the reasons during tour). Happy sighting!

Patience McCoy

The park opened the same year I was born. My family and I go at least once a year. It has been a source of great joy for me. The last time i was there my grandmother was in advanced dementia and rarely knew what was happening around her. We arrived at the gate and she instantly knew where we were. She reminded us that we can't stop in the lion area, that the giraffes liked the sun roof, that we can ride the elephant at the end and the flamingos go for walks. Thank you so much for all the hard work you do so we can have wonderful memories.

Yevgeniy D.

This is a wonderful place. The kids will love it! It appears that they are adding new animals such as the southern wolf and kangaroo (but it closes at 3pm for that attraction). Overall, we have been 4 times on the last 5 years and love it

LiZ Sake

We had a great time. Went for the elephant encounter. We learned a lot. The elephants seem happy and loved. Talked to their assigned trainers who bond with then and get attached to them. The trainers have biology or animal behavior degrees and feel lucky to be there. Really great to hear the inside stories.

LJ Frederickson

Wonderful experience. 600 acres without cages for the majority of animals. Great staff. There are places you can buy some food to feed SOME of the animals. $17 for seniors.$20 for adults... can't remember what it was for kids. Took about 1-1/2 hours...drive through as many times as you wish. Also spent and extra $15 to get up close and personal with an Argentinan wolf and a cougar. Fun for all ages.

Caleb Douglas

Awesome place, probably best thing you can find in southern Oregon. Very large and spacious. 4 stars because: 1. Couldn't see elephants given their environment was surrounded by obstacles. 2. Didn't see any tigers. 3. Didn't like the fact that the animals who need the largest space were enclosed in the smallest spaces, the large cats and bears.

Curtis

Walking into the safari village was very depressing, Especially for the cats...they do not belong in cages!

Emma Walters

This place is amazing! We went there on vacation and were surprised at how healthy the animals were. There is good coverage of the animal life and the surroundings really make it seem like a safari. Definitely worth your money!

Best place for

Great place to spend the day with kids! Tons of things to see, and do. We really have a great time every time we go. The drive through generally takes 60-90 minutes, but there is a lot to see in Safari Village as well. There are a bunch of animal exhibits, a restaurant, gift shop, train rides, camel rides, and more. Great place for kids!

Tina Lyons

My son and I had the most amazing time. We drove through the park, got our picture taken with a cheetah, and we also got to meet a d pet an elephant!!! Like my son said, BEST DAY EVER...

Crystal K

We are in from the East Coast visiting relatives here in Oregon and stopped in this past Saturday June 1st. Beautiful little oasis you have for these animals and they seem well cared for definitely would come here again. My whole family enjoyed it. Ps. It's a shame people left negative comments to suit their own agendas or simply, because they didn't get their way. Please keep doing what you're doing.

Tally McClain

Wildlife Safari is amazing! We took had a tiger experience, drove through the park, fed the animals and enjoyed the walking park area. Kids loved being able to drive and stand up in the car. Highly recommended Wildlife Safari!

Samantha Uribe

It's always so nice to see all the animals! It was hot today so most of them were lounging in the shade. But still fun :-)

Barbara Woster

As always, driving through the safari is fun. Feeding The deer and birds is exhilarating. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The free walk through portion is extremely lovely. We are already looking forward to our next trip.

Samantha Gorton

I love the animals, and this place is one of the best for treatment. They would have 5 stars if the animals looked happy.. but that's hard with all the people that visit.

Udhara Kaluarachchi

Lisa Morales

A great place to see animals in their natural environment. Exciting to see alot of them so close up....makes me feel like a kid again.

Max Merkley

I am very impressed by the staff, the volunteers, the ability for the public to safely observe wild animals. Overall, I believe the management is doing an excellent job with this park. My deep thanks for your work! I will be back.

Maria Kim

Kids had a blast getting REALLY close to the wildlife animals.

Loraina

Loved the encounter with the brown bears! It was amazing how close they got to the vehicle with only electric cords in between us. We bought a cup of fruit for $5 their favorite were grapes! I loved how they opened their mouths so that they could catch the grapes.

Mark Sherwin

Wonderful place to visit all day. If you love nature, outdoors, animals; I highly recommend.

Justin H

We had a great time and will be back for sure. Worth every penny.

Donna Fischer

Our twin grandsons LOVED visiting the various animals. And the highlight, of course, was their camel ride!.A memorable day.

Agile Development

You are using elephants with rods to make them wash cars. You are using camels to carry people around. Shame on you. That is not the way to help animals.

Gabriel Lara

Great place to take the family

shawn henrickson

Buy some dog food to feed to the big birds at the end of the safari and have the time of your life! Unbelt the kiddos and have them scream with excitement!

Mike Kennedy

A great time! I was a little worried heading in due to all the overtly creepy Christian paraphernalia, thinking this was going to be some Christian kitsch money machine complete with a crying Jesus nailed to a cross, but all that nonsense dies away to a very pleasant zoo. I recommend going on a weekday morning to avoid the crowds and screeching children, we’ve been during the weekend and the animals were in hiding from the hoards, and on a Thursday morning and the animals were on full display enjoying the quiet and lack of caravans of children and screaming mothers. I even got to see a rhino running downhill and playing with its other rhino friend! Other hooved creatures were running and playing, giant birds, lions and cheetahs all very active, it was all such a joy. There’s a fair amount of forestry propaganda, which runs counter to the conservation mission. There’s lots of talk about habitat fragmentation literally making these amazing species extinct, then a friendly sign telling you how amazing roads are for the forests. Ridiculous. But I guess they gotta have sponsors and the forestry industry is clearly one of them. But if you don’t think too much about the major hypocrisy in that, you’ll be fine. And go on a weekday.

chelsey Davis

Saw a sign on the freeway, we were just passing through but decided to check it out! So worth it! Staff was awesome and there were so many animals to see. Very family friendly and fun. The baby cheetah cub was so adorable. Definitely would reccomend going!

Anne Garner

Really enjoyed our drive through the park. It was amazing to see so many animals up close and in spaces appropriate to their needs. I also appreciated the kennels that were available since we had our dog with us and had been thinking that one of us would have to miss out on the fun!

NoneYa Business

Our experience going through the park was amazing. Animals are well taken care for minus the brown bears. I feel like they could use more space to run around. Also the food inside the village is super expensive and the kids menu ( chicken nuggets and fries) tasted like cardboard! Hence why I only give 2 stars. The food could really use some improvement. I know for a fact there is better ways to make the food items better for low cost.

Melanie Miller

I can't wait to go back! Worth the Groupon price for sure! Food price/options: B- Cheetah encounter : B+ Cheetah painting: A FREE Pet housing A+++++ Parking A++++ Feeding the fish at the pond was my favorite! =)

Bryan Damkaer

Great drive thru tour... although we seemed to see mostly buffalo, the small deer-like animals were quite entertaining. The Roosevelt Elk was gorgeous...overall a great visit..

Renee Park

They need some real photographers if they are going to sell photo packages with the cheetahs. Our pictures were so zoomed out you could barely see our family in them. Total waste of money

Christie Davis

Wasn't so sure what to expect but had an amazing time. My mother-in-law was raving about it and took us down there for a day and a half. The little village was fun to explore. The flamingos were a favorite, as was the petting zoo. Did several excursions during our time there. Feeding the bears Oso and Mac was a blast. Fed Erin the giraffe which was amazing and met Valerie the elephant. If you have time and a little extra money the excursions are worth it. Most importantly to note, the staff there is phenomenal! They are very friendly and were willing to answer every question, even when catching them cleaning during the drive through. They very deeply care for the animals and love what they do. It was cool to see such passion. I'm sure we'll be back.

Catherine G

I spent a fair amount of money for a year membership for my family only to have all correspondence addressed to my husband. I emailed them about it and was told it was their “standard etiquette” to address everything to the male adult listed on the membership. No apologies or awareness at all of how their behavior could be inappropriate in the 21st century. I will not ever be bringing my family back here.

What a great place. Where do i begin? There's a petting zoo with great animals that were happy, right when u walk in there's a cheetah and a dog living together which is pretty cool. Friendly staff. And now onto the drive thru. It's also a great place. Lots of animals, plenty of food and water for them. And the bears were pretty cool too. The best part was the tigers. They just looked so majestic. Great for kids. The deer came up to our car to eat. Would def recommend.

Michael Teoli

This place was fantastic! I wasn't sure how it was going to be, but they're really great here. It has a ride-through safari where you drive your own car through. It was very fun and felt like you were going on an adventure! I couldn't help from singing the Jurassic Park theme the whole time... My favorite part by far was feed the bears!!! For $5 you get a cup of frozen grapes that literally throw out to the bears! Oso, a HUGE Grizzly bear knows how this works and waits for you to throw and you literally play catch. It was wonderful! This isn't one of those dumb things where you put food into a plastic slide... you literally throw it from your car into the huge area where they live. I guess it's good for them too because they are foraging what they miss. Other highlights were seeing Buffalo, lions, tigers, cheetah's and elephants... but again, the bears stole the show. Additionally, you can walk around their "zoo" near the visitors center. I think that part might be free. It was VERY cool!!! The ONE place that this place must improve is the restaurant. That almost costs them a star, but the place was so much fun, I'm letting them keep it. The staff is VERY friendly. But the food itself is incredibly limiting and the most stereotypical "them park" food you could think of. Everything else about this place breaths top notch, so not sure why they let this slip so much. If you're on a road trip out this way... definitely stop!!!

Mark Medina

Drive through park: Excellent. Cheetah Encounter: Just a chance to sell you a poorly composed photo. Elephant Encounter: Just a chance to sell you a painting for $20. The elephant encounter made me feel sad. We spent 15 minutes in an enclosure, petted one elephant's trunk and watched another elephant work to "help pay for their care." Unless you really enjoy riding in school busses, dont waste your time or money on the additional excursuons. They're just designed to cheet-a you out of your money. If you have doubts, ask folks returning from the excursion. Our busload had conversation about how dissapointing our elephant "encounter" was.

Hallie Carter

This was a new experience for me and my family. In my opinion it’s a hit or miss especially what time you go and what type of weather. There were lots of animals to see but most of them were taking naps, probably because they just had lunch. Other than that I definitely recommend taking the drive thru and going in for free to the walk in exhibit, the best part of that is seeing the baby cheetah and pup play around together.

Alexander Vargas

Cool place, the little zoo area where you walk around is a nice bonus.

Alexis Moreno

So beautiful and well maintained ! Animals are so well taken care of. Very grateful to have the experience to see these animals up close , and interact with them in a safe and humane way ! Thankyou Wildlife Safari for this experience.

Prince P

Wonderful place to visit. Worth the 3+ hours drive from Portland. Try to make there by noon, the place can get pretty crowded in the weekends and holidays. Groupon often has deals sometimes 50% off or more Don't forget your camera with good zoom lens.

Marlene Ascencio

Amazing experience. Worth the long drive. Animals room feeling which gives you a great experience to see them up close. Bummed I couldn't see the tigers but other that it's great. Be vigilant of some people that don't follow the 10mph limit. Drive slow and take it all in. Will be coming back to take the camel ride and giraffe feeding.

Tara Rogers

Not sure why there is a comment about this being the worst zoo in North America... It's not a zoo and the animals are not caged up like a zoo. They run freely for the most part and aren't forced to do anything. I've been on couch less encounters and today's was amazing with the elephants. We got to see Lizzy being bathed and we pet and fed Valerie. Neither were forced to do anything.

Brandon Plunkett

Great place to visit if you are in the area. Where else can you get up close and personal with real wildlife without traveling to another country. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The prices were very reasonable considering how much a normal zoo costs.

Andrew Fuhriman

Really neat way to see exotic animals up close from the comfort of your own car. The tickets are pricey, but I found coupons on line that saved some money. Nice friendly staff.

Greg Gardner

Took my parents, the drive through was very nice. You could tell the animals are well taken care of. We walked through the pavilion area, plenty of benches for someone elderly who uses cane. Everyone was very polite. Some events are $ but understand to take care of the park. Very nice day.

Vanessa Mcmurrian

What an amazing experience. We found a great deal on Groupon and got the tickets less expensive. It was mothers day so mothers got in free as well. There was a lot to see. There is a section where you can buy feed and feed the wild animals right from your car. The staff was easy to find and very informative and helpful. Will be returning asap :)

Justin West

Great experience and absolutely worth doing if you haven't been here yet. We went fairly slow and it took about 90 minutes to drive through the park. The giraffe encounter was fantastic, up close and feeding the giraffe out of our hands. We spent close to 5 hours here between the park, encounter, camel and train rides, and walking through to see the other animals.

Choofie Woo

Coot animals fed a girafe ther was gud drive-thru 10 stars out of 1 999999 out of 2 they haz coot marmosets

Dave Rooper

Interesting spot to take the family

Nitro The Husky

Used to live in Roseburg, Oregon when I was a kid and I always enjoyed going through the drive thru loop as well as the regular zoo. There's so much variety in what there is to see and do. If you're in the area, do NOT miss this it truly is a great place to go.

Cherie Mendenhall

Great time by all, grandkids had a blast

Glen Olson

One can go and enjoy a lot for free in the visitors center, petting zoo, gift shop, theatre, presentation area, special live animal display, restaurant and children's area. They also have guided encounters with animals such as elephants and giraffes for a fee. Finally there is the drive thru. If possible do this as a part of a group. Then you will have a guide which is very educational. If you drive through on your own, you will see all of the animals and will be able to take pictures. I strongly recommend using a zoom.

Janna Smith

Visited Wildlife Safari today and was absolutely disappointmented to see the care of the bears. Especially the brown bears. They were in tiny enclosures and had one place to find shade. The two brown bears that are together have a small make shift structure that has a net hanging on one side that barley provides any shade. And the other bear that is alone has a small wood structure to hid under. It’s extremely dry and looks miserable. And the bear that is alone has no water to play in to escape the heat. The caged area for these animals are super small and pathetic.

Ceal Craig

Wonderful to view animals roaming free. Things have changed since our last visit, over a decade ago. The Lions are enclosed now, as are the cheetahs and tigers. Saw rhinos, hippos, giraffes, and many types of deer, elk, Asian and African animals. Worth a couple of hours. We spent 2.5 on our way North

The Nisler’s

Our family absolutely loves this place...

Phillip Foss

Well housed animals, feeding sessions, lots of educational exhibits. Friendly helpful staff and good restaurant let you enjoy with ease; drive thru or take guided tour. Cleaner than most zoos we've visited, clean restrooms. Follow the rules! Safety is everyone's responsibility.

Barb Love

My entire family had a ball.

avery mcclure

Very cool experience! I would recommend to anyone. Right off I5. Very interactive, you can even feed the animals from your door. You can really tell that they care about there animals. Very friendly staff. If you have a dog or cat, you will have to put them in a kennel provided at the front gate. It's about a 45 minute to hour tour depending on how interactive you want to be. They charge for a lock for the kennel. Good price for what you get. The animals come right up to your window.

Hector Briceno

Love the experience of building memories with my family. tossing food at the animals was awesome buy the food for $5

Rick Brown

Fun place to spend a few hours with the family. We found a great deal on Groupon so make sure to check that out. RV parking for you folks on vacation. Earlier is better.

Rossella Mariotti-Jones

Our second time here, always a great time.

Danny Ort

We went there cause a friend recommended it so went. Drove from Albany an took about an 1hr. The drive was peaceful an it was nice an warm out. When we got the we were so excited we might as well been at disney land. We drove right up to the ticket holder an were in within seconds..the addrenaline is high now in the car now. We were told that if a rhino rhino comes at us we need to roll up our windows!? Anyways it was fun an kid loved it. Very friendly creatures an well kept up. Only thing that got me was the emu. I panicked when that thing stuck his head in the car..felt like i was in jurassic park for a second an was about to get my face ripped off. Would total do it again Great place an love all the animals

David Harris

Great place for a family outing or just a day of solitude. So many awesome animals and information. I purchased an annual pass as I will go back many times.
