REVIEWS OF The Sloth Center Sanctuary IN Oregon

We absolutely ADORED our camping trip at the Sanctuary! It was an amazing time w/ these docile sweeties; a bucket list item for sure!!! The sloths were active, happy and obviously well cared for and our guide was happy to inform us of any questions or concerns we had. Be sure to take a nap beforehand because you won't want to miss a moment of feeding them their "candy (cucumber pieces)" & just taking in their wonderful peacefulness. Bring a book or enjoy the fresh Oregon outdoors as they will nap from time to time---we even made friends w/ a sweet young kitty cat living at the Sanctuary as we were taking a break outside. This whole experience made us happy and more thoughtful of our daily lives and we actually miss the sloths! That is how wonderful this experience was! Much Love to what you guys (the Sanctuary staff) are doing, keep up the amazing work!

I have been a long time sloth lover and coming here my dreams came true! The staff was very nice and they seem to really care about the animals. This is an amazing must do experience!

This place was amazing don’t listen to the people who have 0 IQ and is rating it bad. They probably didn’t go and made it up, they can have the sloths for educational reasons. Also most of the sloths were tying to get imported to the us illegally and needed a home so they took it. If they didn’t take it the sloths would have died even if let back into the wild. This is much better than the zoo because it is private so only your family is getting to feed the sloths unlike the zoo where you are in a big group. It is worth every single penny.

Absolutely AMAZING!! Worth every penny. The owner and staff were extremely welcoming, and made our stay comforting and so much fun. They know their info too! Very well versed in every species on the property, and their passion for the animals is beyond heartwarming. The sloths were engaged and very sweet. Our sleeping setup was comfortable and fun. We even got to meet some of the other animals on the property, including the owner's beautiful dogs! Before we left in the morning, they brought out a surprise animal (in our case it was a tucan!) and one of the people in my group got to hold one of the sloths (extra fee and you need to sign up ahead of time). Anyway, I definitely recommend this place to any and all animal lovers that would like to take the trip. It's a once in a lifetime experience you'll never forget!

Wonderful private experience with these slow cuties. The handler (kelly) was super knowledgeable and informative. All the sloths very incredibly adorable and looked well cared for. As an animal buff, to have come out of the session with my misconceptions about sloths debunked, I feel grateful for the opportunity to share a moment with these fragile, wonderful creatures. Sure its fairly, kinda really expensive, but I came away feeling like the money and even the drive from seattle was well worth it. 10 out 10 would reccomend!

We loved our visit! The couple of sloths we saw were very happy and seemed very well cared for. They were super friendly and loved getting extra love and attention. As for the reviews about breeding, have you ever heard of animal husbandry??? It's not a zoo. It's a rescue/sanctuary.

Would like to tour there, met Sarah who works there, and Rotten ,the monkey that's always in trouble, delivered flowers to the owner.

Sloth Center staff is rude, unprofessional and incompetent. Not to mention, this place is a complete scam. Contacted the Sloth Center back in March to see about booking a tour/visit for July. The communication was terrible from the get go and the SC staff refused to offer any kind of helpful advice throughout the process. Their only responses were snarky short answer replies that never even really answered my questions. Their website is also very misleading and confusing. It’s unreal how they manage to take something as simple as bookings/reservations and screw it up. Looking back I am very glad that I did not give my money to this so called “conservation/research center” and the jack wagons who run this place.

Please do your homework and google this organization before visiting. There is a lot of information out there about their breeding and selling practices. They are not registered as a non-profit. They had several animals seized and removed in 2018 due to inhumane conditions, and still have a pending court case and that is just the tip of the iceberg. And yes, I did visit them before I was made aware of their illegal and immoral practices. I wish I had known and not contributed to their "zoo".

Reply to Sloth Sanctuary: All I have to do is read newspaper and news articles on this place! Sloths are not native to Oregon and how is your court case? Please boycott this place!!! Sloths are imported here and are being bred. This is not ethical or moral. I hope you are shut down and these animals are taken to an actual conservation who has their best interest at heart!

Do your research! We were planning our vacation to Oregon based around this experience, but like the others said, a few clicks on Google and there's a ton of disturbing red flags. I'm so disappointed. I had such high hopes.
