Small town zoo with a large city appeal. Lots of exotics including Bengal Tigers, Fossa, Lemurs, Spider Monkeys, Gibbons, Tamarins, and Zebras. My daughter and I go about once/week. And remember to check out the Prairie Rose Carousel!

Great selection of animals. We went yesterday July 4th and it was 90+ degrees out and a lot of the animals weren't moving very much due to the heat. There wasn't any zoo employee walking around at all. Great variety for the price.

Small but adorable. Baby gibbon right now is incredibly cute. Peacocks and ducks wander about as they please but none have been a problem. White tiger is beautiful. Will definitely come back.

I've been to many zoos all across the country in my life time, but this one is my favorite. The animals seem really well cared for and their pens are sprawling so they aren't cooped up like many other zoos I've visited. The kids always have a blast when we visit and they get so into the animals it's like a mini reprieve for my wife and I. The staff are super friendly and helpful! The zoo is constantly being expanded as new animals are added. This time the big attraction was the albino Buffalo. I was told only one in about twelve-million is born like this so we felt very privileged being able to see it.

We stayed this summer in one of the cabins you can rent at the zoo. Have to say this has been one of the best experiences i have ever had away from home with my family. Not only was it a steal at like $35 a night. But kids loved hearing the rhinos right behind the cabin. Sleeping and hearing the exotic animals was surreal. Had to walk 20 feet to a nice free bathroom and showers was only downside. But the fact the cabin was so family friendly more then made up for it. Even though it was small the inside was all furnished with heavy duty furniture. Have two small sons this was very appreciated. I cant stress enough to anyone how cool of a place this was to visit. Zoo was cool also. Had some animals and such.

Considering this zoo is in the middle of nowhere, it had some nice animal displays. My husband and I came an hour before closing and honestly, it looked like it was going to rain. We thought maybe the animals wouldn’t be so active considering the weather but nope, a lot of them were out and about. Nice art too in the front.

The animals all looked healthy. Certain areas were not monitored like the tortoise pen that let guests go in and pen the critters. Lots of loose birds, peacocks and pheasent. Lots of unkept areas where wild plant life we're taking over. But it was still fun.

Great Zoo, liked how up and close the animals are, also the animals here are pretty lively, alot of zoos the animals dont do much, the rhinos were digging at the dirt grunting, puttin on a show, monkeys climbing everywhere, the bears were roaming looking scary, even the gator was moving around. Its big enough to have a bunch of animals but not to big to not be walkable. Great zoo worth stopping off the highway for a random tourist spot

Very nice zoo and nice animal exhibits. There was one enclosure with a falcon in it that had so much ivy growing on it that it was hard to see the animal that should be trimmed back to allow visitors to see without having to go to the backside to view. We still enjoyed it very much and will visit again next time we go thru.

Most of the zoo area looked messy and smelled unkempt. Also, the staff was very rude and heckled my shy friend when she asked a question! The whole experience left us really uncomfortable and we will not be coming back.

My family and I met here for a family reunion, I decided to check out the zoo with my husband and daughter, so glad we did! This ranks as one of my favorite zoo, very clean. The animals and their habitat were clean and you can see most of the animals up close. You could also feed some of the animals! My daughter loved Tortise Town, it was an enclosed area with several tortoise that you could pet. I also enjoyed the walk to see the animals, great work out! I highly recommend this zoo if you're in the area!

Awesome! Must visit if in the area. Great variety of animals! Very clean. Friendly relaxed invironment. We spent the majority of the day there. LOVED the monkeys and tigers! Bigger than expected.

Amazing zoo. All the animals are extremely well cared for. Have plenty of space and all look so happy and healthy. My 7 year old and I did the Rhino encounter(must make arrangements prior to venturing to zoo. Preferably a week) where we received so much amazing information from the a imal keeper. Some I knew, but so much more I didn't. She was so patient and fun. We met and fed the amazing 5 year old Rhino brothers Gideon and Gunner. Both so friendly and amazing. Although I have to say Gideon was my fave. He spent the most time letting us feed and let him. Support zoos, because they are giving so much amazing care to their animals and it's because if zoos like them that so many threatened and endangered beauties are still existing. The care, study, captive reproduction of animals like the rhinos( which are dissapearing at enormouse rates because of poaching and deforestation)is helping to keep these wonderful animals on our planet. Please go visit and support. I drive an hour to get there and it's so worth it every time.

They have a few exotic animals: Rhino, Zebra, Kangaroos, and maybe a couple others. The structure and quality of the exhibits is dated. It's not a zoo you would go out of your way to get to. Overall it's an okay visit, but I wouldn't go multiple times probably.

Cool small town zoo. Unique Animals. There are enclosures where you can go in with the Tortoises. I like how they integrate some of the animals into the same exhibit and not keeping them separate from each other.

Love it. Took my boys there as toddlers and up and now I take my grandkids. Wish the bears had a larger home. Hope that's in the works. Love the flowers. Absolutely beautiful. Good job, Chahinkapa!

Great place to hangout with the family and learn, get some steps in, and grab some food. They do a very good job with creating a great experience here. Update: Unfortunately, as of 2018 they no longer have scoop ice cream or prepare food. This was something that I really enjoyed and thought added to the appeal and atmosphere.

My 3 yr old and 18 month old love coming here! Feeding the ducks and petting the barn animals is their favorite. We usually spend 1.5-2 hours walking around and they are exausted by the time we are done.
