This park has something for everyone. Tennis, baseball fields, basketball, handball, sledding, a few playgrounds, animals to feed, trails, dog park, soccer fields, fishing, and on and on Rwat place for the family. Pretty well maintained. I love jogging with my dog on the trails here. The trails are also great if you are looking for a quiet walk. The dog park is great but I have I have found that some of the regular dogs are a little less than friendly. Don't let that scare you cause most of the time that I go my dog has a great time. The park has an enclosed deer pen where you can bring vegetables or bread and feed the deer. Great for the kids. Also, the park installed a Frisby golf course that I seen being used a lot. Looks like a lot of fun.

Very Nice Park! The water is really nice. LOVE the playground for kids!!We went there from PA, to do a petting zoo since it came up on the website for petting zoo. You cant get in to the animals or touch them. you just look. Its a nice day to spend the day, too bad you couldnt get closer to them. If i lived in the area, i could see myself spending time over here with the kids. Wouldn't make the drive again just to see animals through a fence

Very nice park to go with family . Right from the parking lot you can see some of your favorite animals like pot belly pigs, roosters, deer, Billy goats and excetera. there is a playground and bathroom facilities are very accessible and clean. The park offers paved paths and dirt and gravel hiking trails. My hiking group went Sunday morning and we hiked for 2 hours. Very nice park we will be returning.

This is a wonderful park to walk the various trails and camp with the Boy Scouts. We have held a number of jamborees and weekend scouting events to learn that this place is unique. It is located just behind the new Monroe HS so some of the former land was taken by eminent domain. There are plenty of places to camp but don't be surprised to find a bear or deer nearby. Any camping must be done by permit from the county. So if you looking for a great weekend outdoors, this the place to go. They also have a wonderful dog park and several softball fields along Perrineville Road. It is also close to several food establishments and the Jamesburg Police Department. The Middlesex County Park Rangers patrol the area for vandals and vagrants.

My 2yr old enjoyed seeing the animals. But it is not a "petting zoo". You can feed the animals but you will have to bring your own feed (breads, apples). I will now know this the next time I go.

Driving around and found this is park. It was nearing sunset but we had a chance to play on the swingings, run through the open field, and snap a picture of Snoopy enjoying the sunset. The zoo is free and you can view several types of birds. Their cages have ample space, and they seems to be well taken care. Ample parking too.

I love this park, it is one of my favorite parks. I come here every weekend to fish for many fish species including bass, pickerel, and panfish. The only issue is that when they stock trout they run out since the whole bucket bridgade is there. They should stock some more trout!!!

A very well maintained park, I go there almost everyday. But I am unhappy about one thing.The caged animals are neglect, neither they get food properly nor water, In summer, the poor animals suffers a lot for water,The bowls always remain empty.I am a crazy animal lover, these things bring water in my eyes. I am ready to give free service. if there there is any way to help the poor animals...........pls let me know

Zoo was a disappointment. Animals are blocked by two rows of chain fence & kept in small stalls. Not too many animals or birds to see. The rest of the park is nicely maintained & up to date.

The animals kept at the zoo here live in horrible conditions. There are beautiful exotic birds kept in sub par concrete and dirt enclosures where they can barely move much less run around. They have no enclosure to go inside when it's freezing, no toys no sunlight. I am beyond sad for these animals. I called to report the neglect but as long as they are fed and have water they are within the confines of the law. Absolutely soul crushing experience.

Great little park. There are actually nice trails around the park that are a pleasure to walk thru. Nothing huge, probably 3 miles or so to do the loop. Or you can go more inside the wooded areas to explore as well. The hill in the park is great for snow tubing. Little animal zoo and playground is very nice for little kids. The tennis courts, 4 of them need a little paint and sealing however. The pickle ball wall is great for tennis practice. BBQ areas are plentiful, there is dog park for both little and bigger dogs. Decent lake, not much for swimming or fishing but just nice scenery with it there.

Park is kept exceptionally clean, including the bathrooms. There maintenance people are always working some where in the park. I run there often and there are multiple paths and trails that all intersect so you have variety of ways to run.

I've been to the Thompson Park Zoo twice now, one with my 5 year old son. He loved it. It's the perfect size for small children and there are plenty of animals to see.

Nice little community zoo. Nice animals. Big cages so they don't seem cramped. Fountain in duck and geese portion. Stream in large deer pen enclosure. Right next to the children's playground, the winter sledding hill lodge, and the lake. Bathrooms ate right near by. Plenty of parking.

Honestly, not sure of the zoo. I see deer, ostrich and peacocks through the fence. Believe Otis free. One of the churches I attend has their annual picnics next to here and the park is beautiful.

Nice park, there is fishing a small zoo with deer, goats, rabbits, geese, and other animals. Swings and some hiking trails with varied terrain. Also a underground spring you can drink from or bottle water up and take home.

A nice little places to either bring the kids or just walk around in. The animals can be fun to look at and they look like they're treated well enough. Nice little areas for most things and the deers get pretty much free range. Only thing I'm not fond of is the rabbit cages. I hope they're taken out every once in a while. Otherwise they're just living in a box their whole life.

A nice, quiet park with a medium-sized zoo. Great for dog walking or dates. If you’re a bicyclist, there are a few trails about the park but riding on the roads would suffice for a good trip by itself. The park is adjacent to a dog park and a high school, and there are several wide open spaces nearby to just enjoy the views.

The park is huge, I wanted to take my kids to see the animals. It slicks that u cant get too close to the animals but they were well taken care of. There are a ton of different kinds of animals and feeding them was amazing. The playground area is huge, lots of kids and plenty of parking. Most of all its FREE.
