I've seen Rizzo's at the library and at my daughter's school and was always impressed with how knowledgeable and professional that are. This was my first visit to their place and had an awesome time! The exhibits are clean and the animals don't look distressed or dirty. The staff are friendly and superknowledgeable about all of the animals and are happy to share with you. Laura and Christine (hope I got their names right!) helped us the most and we're awesome. This is definitely a place I would recommend!!

I can't believe what a GREAT time I had as the "mom". Dominic and team really took care of everything! We just showed up and enjoyed the awesome show. Dominic is a great host and really should have been a comedian. He entertained kids with his amazing animals as well as the adults with his humor. Outstanding, quality show, highly recommend. My real name is Rachel Selig and in the last three years I have had the pleasure to be at six of Rizzo's Reptile shows. I have hosted four shows in my school for groups of 50 sixth graders (age 11-12). In addition, I have hosted two at my home for my son's four year old and five year old birthday parties. In addition, from my recommendations, several of my friends have also had Rizzo's Reptiles at their homes and have had fantastic experiences as well. From both a 10-year veteran teacher and from a mom standpoint, Dominic Rizzo and his creatures were engaging and interesting for both the children and for the adults. His show has a wonderful flow beginning with small creatures and moving on to larger ones. He uses great educational techniques such as anticipation, humor, audience response, questions, and more. He modifies his presentations to fit the audience. In two of the shows at my school, he seamlessly incorporated and engaged students with developmental differences. For the four and five-year old birthday parties, he truly made the birthday child feel special while also including everyone which was no easy feat since I had both younger and much older friends at the parties. I have also hosted him in small spaces (due to rain) and in large areas both outside and inside. There was no difference in the high quality and entertainment. When you read online reviews, sometimes you wonder why someone would post. Rizzo is a wonderful person with a passion for creatures and for educating and entertaining others about them. He has not remotely paid me in any way for this review, I offer it unsolicited and without any reservation.

MAIN WARNING IS TO CALL AHEAD!!! My two year old daughter is absolutely obsessed with this place, and we go often! I always recommend it to parents looking for things to do with their little ones. My high recommendation does come with a warning, and is the reason I'm giving Rizzo's only 4 stars instead of 5.. if you go to Rizzo's on a day when they have any sort of private party (which seems to happen a lot between birthdays and school type things) you will not get nearly as much attention as this group and may even feel like you're in the way. They show animals to the private parties right in the main area, which is confusing to other little customers when they're told they can't participate with this group, or look at what this group is looking at. Now.. SOME of the employees are amazing and they go out of their way to show the animals to people outside the large private groups. If LAURA is there you will have an amazing experience regardless of what is happening, same with GRACE. Unfortunately I have felt the owner/manager has been rude to me in the past, and he particularly seems to care more about the large parties versus his walk in customers. SO my warning is to call ahead and see what their day is like before going because they may be overwhelmed with parties (especially on weekends) and it will not be worth your 10.00. Go anytime and get a wonderful employee like Laura or Grace, and you'll feel it was the best 10.00 ever spent.

My 4-year old son loves this place. Mr. Rizzo brought out several different animals on stage and let the children touch some of them. It's a very small place, but we stayed for 2 hours. He couldn't get enough. Friendly staff that is good with kids. I Would recommend it to others

this hidden gem is perfect for creature+loving kids of all ages. as a homeschool mama, we love heading to rizzo's for educational programs, as well as drop in visits...we have done both in the last few months and plan on many more. there's a colorful variety of reptiles, fish, birds and fuzzy cuties and the staff make learning an entertaining and hands on experience for everyone. if you want to fall in love with a few ferrets, hold a tarantula, learn a lot and support an amazing place, check if out

My kids were confused with children for a birthday party so we were just left to wander the reptile room. Didn't see the other animals really. It also took about 10min to have someone ring up their toys. No one at counter. My mom had a great experience when she went the week before.

This place is amazing. I think most people from the area can attest that. But, I think I offer a bit of a unique perspective otherwise I would just let my five-star review speak for itself. But I really wish I could give them 10 Stars. My ten-year-old son is obsessed with this place. We had his ninth birthday done by them as well. My son has some special needs so we had them come out to us so that he (son) could be in a familiar place but I took him to their building when we were searching for a fun party idea. Dominick Rizzo made such an impression on my son when we first went, not only did my son beg to have Rizzo's do his birthday party, he insisted that Dominick be the one to come out and do the show. Everyone at the party had a blast. He brought so many different types of animals that even if a child was scared of one there would be an animal there that they would be thrilled to see. Earlier this year we went there for a movie night event that they were hosting and it was just as spectacular. We came a little early (not a little... a whole hour) and the entire staff that was there were incredible. They had a private party going on but one of the other girls that werent working the party walked around with my son and let him feed some of the animals and brought down some animals for him to see and entertained him beyond his wildest dreams. He just wanted to be able to get there and have time to get used to the space but this girl was basically his private tour guide. She was just as informative and enthusiastic and engaged with him (and myself) as the owner himself was the first time we came. They staff some really incredible people. I can't rave about this place enough.

Id like to start out by say i have watched this reptile show for close to 5 years, as a camper and as a counselor. This man is absolutely spectacular when it come to the shows. He has been doing it for years and knows how to entertain the adults and the kids. I work at a nature camp and we see tons of animal shows and he is by far the best one we have come. All the groups of kids and their counselors rearrange their scheduled each week to make sure they are there when he comes. He is awesome with the kids and the animals. Plus he knows his own animals really well so he had give you a better experience then someone who is just a caretaker. Also regarding what people were saying before about him being unsafe, never once has and animal or a child been in danger at any of the shows I have watched. Its a nature camp so the safety of the kids and nature is the top priority. He is well worth the money and gives a great experience.

My son absolutely loves snakes so this was the perfect find for us. We drove up from Ocean Twp and the staff there walked my son and I through all the reptiles. Very informative and interactive with my 4 year old. They took snakes out for him to touch, hold, and even help feed. I would highly recommend Rizzo’s to anyone. They were all very welcoming and extremely knowledgeable. You can easily tell it’s more of a passion and love for the animals than anything else. Thanks for an awesome day with my son.

This was a fantastic place. We attended for a birthday party and will for sure return again. Not only did they have the kids involved but also the adults. We didn't just learn about each species they also taught us what it takes to maintain them. Teaching kids at a young age what it's really like to take care of an exotic pet. It was a waste of 20 bucks. Could have just went to pet smart with my child instead. The staff is really friendly but there really wasnt much for my daughter to do besides be in a opened room filled with tanks. Thought she would have been able to experience petting some of the animals. Most likely never going again or suggesting this place to parents.

Love this place, probably even more than my kids. The staff is very friendly and very patient with children around the animals. The guided tour was very casual while being informative and fun. There are quite a few animals you can touch, my kids loved it. There's also a small area of toys and books, which is a great distraction when waiting for different animals to be brought out. Definitely will go again! $10 per person over 2 years old.

Rizzo's is a small spot that has a variety of animals and the staff is INCREDIBLE. I was a great experience. The presentation that they give is great for children of all ages. My 4 year old was frightwned of the more scarier animals so we stepped away. Another staffperson (Amy) approached us and asked my daughter if she wanted to see a cute cuddly animal. My daughter was re-engaged and the next thing I know we were back with the group petting a 80lb yellow boa! THEN ... After the group left Amy came back and was nice enough to pull out a few animals for us to pet. By the time we got home she wanted to be like Amy and feed the animals.

I am a camp counselor and I love the Rizzo's Reptiles animal show; it is a great part of our camp program. All of the counselors look forward to it each week and make sure to watch it. No one wants to miss the show! The campers who have seen the shows before are eager to do it again. Dominic is excellent with the kids, he really engages them and keeps their focus. The animals he brings are always interesting, and the kids are able have a safe an education experience. His own enthusiasm and love of animals is what makes his program exciting.

This place is amazing! It's like a zoo only better! A lot of the animals are rescues which is always something I love to hear. They let you hold or pet almost all of the animals that they have. It's great for kids and adults. It's very educational. It's not expensive at all and you could easily spend a couple hours there. Just make sure you like reptiles of all sorts before you go!

My son loved Dominic's presentation, and so did all of his friends. He was informative, hysterically funny, and absolutely kept everyone safe. The best part is that I think the parents were laughing harder than the children! We got lots of rave reviews from all of our guests and our kids are still talking about the party, which was several months ago. I also know that Rizzo's Reptiles has been doing presentations at my children's preschool for many years and they are very well-respected & appreciated for their excellent work. Last week, Rizzo's sent a presenter, Jessie, to our location to do a birthday party for our 8 year old son. I loved the fact that they allowed my son to browse their selection of animals online ahead of time and choose his favorites (and which ones not to bring), and they were able to accommodate most of his requests. Jessie arrived on time and full of upbeat energy. At the party, we had 12 eight year old boys who sat there for an hour fascinated and engaged the whole time, which is no small feat! Jessie was very knowledgeable about all of the animals, answering all of the boys' questions and giving them fun/weird facts to laugh at so that it was really "edu-tainment"-- the boys learned without even knowing they were learning. We were extremely happy with the presentation and highly recommend Rizzo's and Jessie to anyone who wants to host a great party!

We went here for a field trip with about 50 students. This was my favorite experience for a field trip by far! I loved how accommodating and structured the day was. Everything was made so easy and scheduled out perfectly. The staff is incredible! Every member was helpful, hard working, super knowledgeable, and awesome with the kids. It makes things that much better when the staff loves what they do:) the children were contained yet busy, and very interested in all the animals. I would highly recommend this place and can’t wait to go back next year for another trip with my students. A great day was had by all; and as a teacher, I am not even exhausted at the end of the day!

The best birthday party for my son that we've had, ever, hands down!!! The absolutely wonderful staff (specifically Tina, who ran the entire animal adventure) and the owner, Dominic, made every guest at my son's birthday party feel welcomed and special. As the party host, I did not have to lift a finger; I enjoyed every moment of the birthday party, right along side my son. Tina was incredible with our party of 23 kids. The space is fantastic - tons of breathing room for all of the kids and their parents. Dominic is calming and positive and insists that his clients enjoy the party just as much as the birthday kid. I HIGHLY recommend this venue for a different and magnificent experience for your family, whether it is a birthday party or an open learning time. A small but wonderful animal encounter center. Each group gets a personal guide(it was just 4 of us) and we got to touch at least half of the animals. There are mostly reptiles here, but we also got to meet a very playful ferret.

Its a good place for little kids but then it quickly looses older kids attention. The smell of urine hits you in the face as soon as you walk into the place. It was very gross feeling knowing other kids are playing in their and touching animals all while there is an unpleasant smell. The Rizzo travel show is great, and has no smell. Its hard to eat pizza and cake when it smells so badly.

Rizzo's Reptile Discovery is by far the best entertainment you can book for a kids' event. We just had him at a Cub Scout pack meeting in Morristown, and the kids went crazy...they loved it and so did the parents. I also hired Rizzo's for a birthday party in my home for my oldest son, and it was fabulous. After attending my party, a close friend hired Rizzo's to come to her son's party as well! My family is a big fan and we wholeheartedly recommend Dominic Rizzo....his animal knowledge is deep, his presentation entertaining, his sense of humor is engaging and I felt very safe around the animals he brought. This place is great! Their staff and reptiles are equally entertaining. I've seen these guys at an offsite birthday party and the woman handler was so enthusiastic and really got the crowd going. We just had my son’s 5th birthday party at Rizzo’s! I wish I could give more stars!! It was incredible- everyone had the best time and haven’t stopped talking about it! Dominic was amazing and really had our son as the star of the show with the animals. I highly recommend having a birthday party there- the staff is just as wonderful and helpful! We had the absolute best experience and it was the best birthday ever!! Thank you so much!

Incredible! Definitely a hidden jem... I was a guest at a party this weekend. Had as much fun as my son did. Miss Tina did our program and she was hilarious and exciting. Never had an experience like this. She went above and beyond to make the birthday kid but also the guests feel so special. I would suggest you request her because there were some young kids working there who weren't as comfortable. I thought the owner seemed a bit rude and in your face but other people seemed to like him. The staff and experience was very memorable. Be back for a visit soon...with friends!
