Life starts at the Gorge

Nice place for a quiet walk along a branch of the Raritan. The "Raritan River Rd" is a single lane crushed stone road with many ruts. Parking is along the side and limited. There are gates that close off the north and south parts of the park to cars - so, no through route by car, but makes it quieter. We managed to find a scramble up to the Columbia Trail and walked along the trail some. Beautiful and cool on a hot day.

This is just the northern access point into the Ken Lockwood Gorge WMA. Nothing really special and little to no parking available that I could see. That said, what it leads to is a nice little park.
