Very nice for the kids, the animals look a little distressed though.

REINA ELIZABETH NATIVIDAD

My son likes going here on the summers

Maggie Redding

I did not know this zoo was for kids. For people of all ages go to the Bronx Zoo

Ben Guy

Really nice. Small but beautiful.

Chantal Mitchell

This zoo is small and barely entertaining. The only thing my kids enjoyed was feeding the goats. This zoo needs more interactive material to keep children and adults invloved.

Retro Vader

My daughter loves the peacock and the seals.Great for lods and it's cheap.Good outing to kill time and get the kids tired.

Josh Jager

Great time, beautiful zoo. The sea lion exhibit is a highlight, be sure to see them being fed. I think the times were 11:30, 2, and 4

Devi Priya Jain

A small zoo that can be covered in half a day; very clean and I love their idea of kids stop (I don’t remember the exact name) there. We’ve to stop at 6 different places set by them, all through the zoo, where they’ll ask us/kids some questions (related to animals/nature) and explain the answer (like how can duck eat in water etc) Loved the sea lion show

Jane islander

Not as big as the other Manhattan zoo, but has great info and exhibits :)

Angel Zhou

This is a pretty small zoo that you can plan to enjoy for an hour or two. Kids love the petting zoo and the baboon mountain. The nice thing about the layout is that all the exhibits are pretty close to each other. Kids can see all of them. In a big zoo, it is impossible to get to see everything in one visit.

Srimadhav K

Beautiful zoo for toddlers but, as there is no parking provided took almost 30 mins to find a spot road side.

Yan Agrachev

Compact size. Great place for families with young children.

Yelena Shchukina

loved! cute little park with free walking peacocks!

john bravo ayers

For $10 this place was worth it. I was pleasantly surprised at the peacocks walking around freely. The only turn off was the appearance of the sheep. They looked as if they are not properly being taken care of.

marianni Rodriguez

Its Its really nice and there is so mani animals to see and learn about. It a nice plase to take youre kids pr flr a family trip. also There is a gift shop it's realy great the stuffed animals are so cute and adorable i got one for myself and i love it. Its just a really nice place

Marcos Rivera

If you like animals you'll love this place. It's not a large zoo like the Bronx zoo,but if don't wanna do a lotta walking then this is the zoo for you.The colorful birds and the fennec foxes (the world's smallest) were my favorites. You may also see a lovely peacock walking around the place. If you're gonna feed it make sure you first check online to see what food it can eat.The wrong foods will not slide down the peacock's slender throat gently and may cause it to choke.Taking pictures of/with the animals was fun,my friend really enjoyed that! The animals that are behind the glass however can be a bit challenging to photograph. The reflections and smudge marks on the windows can ruin a great shot.

Erika Perez de Quito

Nice small zoo preferably for younger children I think $8 for adults children younger than 3 are free. They have peacocks roaming freely throughout the zoo and there's always staff guarding them, say hi to Baldy for me! He's the only one with no feathers on his head

Julien

Animals look like they went completely nuts... Poor creatures...

Chris Grimshaw

Our week always includes The Prospect Park Zoo. My father took me to the Zoo habitually as a kid and I'm keeping it going with my 3 yr old with the help of all the great people at PP Zoo. Make sure to feed a goat and see the Sea Lion feedings.

Alicia Jack

Great place to take the little ones. Clean never crowded and admission is very cheap

Ellen Rickford

I love this little zoo- for $10 it’s such a great little day out.

Adina Goriva

Great zoo for a 2 hour trip. No parking lot. So finding parking was a bit hard.

Saucy Bee

Awesome experience. Throughly loved it. Great introduction to different animals for all ages.

Vika

Great fun for kids!

Devon Nash Pronold

Good zoo. You could spend just an hour here and see everything.

Nick O'Connor

Plenty to do here. My 11 month old daughter really enjoys this place. Fun for all ages!

Regina Minaya

A nice zoo located within Prospect Park in Brooklyn. Free parking is readily available at most times. The grounds are clean and well kempt. There are play areas for children. A gift shop and small cafe is on premises; however, only credit/debit cards are accepted. It is a great way to spend a few hours with smaller children. It is also available to visit free with a NYC Culture Pass. You may inquire in public libraries about obtaining one.

Raphael Rivas

I enjoyed my time here at this Zoo and enjoy the activities that they have along with the sea lion feeding which is the highlight.

Denis Den

We want this place several times. My family and me happy to walked and see animals. My recommendation for young family.

Steven Harris

Small but ok. Nothing to go crazy about.

A I

My babies loves this zoo. This place is quiet, not crowded. Bring quarters so you can buy food to feed cows, sheeps and piglets. There is only 1 problem main entrance has too many stairs. I am recommending to buy tickets online so you can enter from other side of park.

Mahmoud Rabah

Great little zoo. The layout is comfortable and relaxed. The exhibits are clean and interesting. The price of admission is reasonable. It's just a really nice zoo that's terrific for kids.

Tamanna Shamim Ahmed

Truly amazing place. My 2 yrs enjoyed a lot there. Wanna go again.

Gursharon Mangat

It is a smaller sized zoo perfect for parents with little ones children under 3 are free and adults are about 10 dollars, it has feeders for the ducks and the goats. It has a few indoor stations as well and a show with their sea lions. It is not as intimidating in size as the bronx zoo but they definitely have a ton of interesting things to keep you occupied. It has peacocks that roam free.

Tina Estrada

FUN day out with the kiddies. Not too cold, no rain nor snow. It was cool. Small and cozy, definitely not an all day thing.

Chaya Gol

Very nice, and big. My Kids realy enjoy

Small to medium sized zoo near Prospect Park and Brooklyn Botanical Garden. Animal highlights include duck pond and barnyard, where you can exchange quarters for food pellets and feed sheep, goats, turtles, and ducks. Our other favorites are the baboons, Pallas cat, the foxes, bats, lady birds, aviary, monkeys, otters, dingos, and red pandas. Feeding time with the sea lions is fun. Peacocks wander around. Discovery center is kid friendly. The food options here and in Queens and Staten Island are standard, which is to say limited, and that element is in sorest need of new vendor contracts. We’ve been here a zillion times and it’s always fun, though.

Nicole Woo

The size of the zoo is great if you have 45 minutes to an hour to spend. However, due to the small size, I can’t help but feel bad for the animals here; they barely have space to fly/swim/move around. There is a small petting zoo where you can pay $0.50 to feed snacks to sheep and goats.

Steacy Curry

Not a ton to see, but worth the small entrance fee (about 10 bucks). You navigate yourself through this quaint zoo and really have the luxury of time and space to do it at your leisure. We were able to sit in the baboon area for quite some time so we could feed our daughter and watch the animals play. Different areas of the grounds felt really disconnected like the barn and the trail, but it was still easy to get through. Main entrance is NOT stroller friendly, so you have to go through the other entrance (that you won’t know about on your own) or lug your stroller down several stairs. Staff were lovely though, coffee at the cafe was terrible but the gift shop was small and cute. Legitimate food options would have been appreciated, but I don’t think this is a busy time of year for them anyways. Definitely go for the indoor exhibits! Especially since it’s across the street from the botanical gardens and everything over there is currently dead!

The Prospect Park Zoo is a 12-acre (4.9 ha) zoo located off Flatbush Avenue on the eastern side of Prospect Park, Brooklyn, New York City. As of 2016, the zoo houses 864 animals representing about 176 species, and as of 2007, it averages 300,000 visitors annually. The zoo is not the largest in NYC, though it’s very liked by me and my friends. Highly recommended to everyone

Loretta Pezzella

Dmaller than I expected. But nice.

William Maisonave

Had a great time with the kids. Plenty to do, plenty to see. Watched a show with sea lions, fed llamas and sheep, crawled in caves and watched monkeys dance. Place was great. Highly recommend.

L Henry

It wasn't too crowded. We were able to see most of the exhibits. My daughter & her class enjoyed this trip.

Frimmy B

Very nice place, got beautiful pictures. Kids really enjoyed it!

Theresa

I've been coming here almost my whole life!! As a child, when it was still a "zoo" (thankfully, no longer), I came here with my boys when they were younger and I continue to visit now!! I LOVE IT!! So much fun and so interesting! Cool animals to see and fun trails to walk!! This is truly a place for CHILDREN OF ALL AGES!!

Jessica

Great zoo to visit any time of year as there are enough indoor exhibits to enjoy even in poor weather conditions.

Marva Brown

Even on a cold day it's a very nice outing. My children love feeding the animals be it sheep, goats, or ducks. The discovery trail is a perfect hike for toddlers and pushing the baby in the stroller. And when it got too cold we were able to go to one of the inside exhibits. Oh! And the peacock that walks the grounds is amazing. We haven't eaten in the cafe for a while but it is there and open for business.

Relic Gaming

Its a very nice place to see different animals it is the best place to go to.

Jennifer Rangel

It's a simple park but with a few charming extras like the carousel and zoo. Many paths within the park its easily to get lost quickly if you're not paying attention lol. Perfect for picnics, families or a run, etc. It's a great escape from the busy streets!

Inevitable Difference

I love that you can feed the sheep here. The park size of the park allows you to see all of the animals. There is also sea lion show a couple of times per day. Admissions was $7 and change for an adult on a Tuesday. Not too shabby!

LM Ramirez

The seal performance with their trainers were fanastic. All the animals were wonderful to see. I will recommend Prospect Zoo to all.

Diami C.

Small zoo but I love because of that. Easy activity if you have multiple kids. It’s usually not too crowded.

lily perez

It was nice, nothing in comparison to the bx zoo but it was nice and not crowded at all which was amazing. It was just a really small zoo . I love the little areas where they played a little educational game and got stamps

Sharlene Nikki Knox

Great place for summer fun

oliver Littley

With Natalie Pankewicz always shall it be a memory of love.

Lanette Murphy

This is the perfect place to go and visit if you love animals, the animals appear to be well kept , the zoo is small enough that you can take your time and visit every exhibit, the children and I really enjoyed ourselves

Dashka Milashka

New zoo with cool animals to look at your Children will love it ! A beautiful spot to spend time with family!!!

Fanny Segura

Very nice for vfc kids. Is not that big which make it better cause your able to walk the whole place.

Yehudis Milstein

It's great for small children that need to be indoors. Everything is just the right amount for small children. The bathroom was very clean. Every exhibit the children are able to go very close and the animals are interactive. The baboon exhibit was exciting for the young children. The zoo is also scenic you can take nice pictures with your family. The seal show was entertaining. There were a lot of nice places to sit and eat. The petting zoo was clean and the animals were friendly. The peacocks were friendly as well.We enjoyed our visit.

Catherine Carlisle

Small but super cute. Worth the price. Great for kids!

Earl David

nice small zoo, peacocks running free...seals, monkeys...

Naftali Reuven & Kayla Ahuva Lemack

Too hot and very little to see.

Chuck Pulumbo

It was a nice experience. It's worth the couple dollars. Lots of learning activities for kids. The seal feeding was entertaining. The monkeys are a must see. There isn't a whole lot. It's difficult to make it an all day affair, but it was a fun time for my family and I.

Torin Val verde

Took my son and he loved it, walked around great food and patrons everyone seemed to have fun my boy especially.

Eric Elsbree

Amazing sea lion show

Carl Lawrence

Not as extensive as the other NYC zoos, but still a fun easy to spend an hour or so. The free roaming peacocks are always a treat for the kids.

dennis mills

Very interesting place but limited in the amount of wild life they have

Henry Trionton

Had a good day here. It is not the biggest, but it is good enough for me to like it and to tell you that the place worth a visit.

aaron tapia

Great local destination. Prospect Park staple. Across the street from the Brooklyn Botanical Garden. Nice day trip for kids and families. Peacock follow you around everywhere. Good times with family and friends a like.

Vanessa Salvador

Stroller friendly, great for a day with the kids.

Farha A

The zoo is not very big like Bronx zoo and they don’t have big animals. But it is very well maintained and great for family outing! It will take around 2 hours to see everything. My favorite part was the several peacocks around the zoo. I highly recommend visiting this place!

nooch hurwitz

Great zoo for young children. You can spend about 4 hours here and lots of interactive exhibits for kids

Lisa Zoller

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. It's quaint and clean with a surprising amount of walkways and exhibits. We had the place to ourselves for awhile before families arrived. We stayed till 1130 to watch the Seal feeding. What a nice morning for $9+ for an adult. I noticed they had a room for private parties for little ones too. That's a neat idea.

My grandson had a beautiful time I wanted to see more animals it was my first time and yes and I thought it would be more animal there

Kenya Amor

Love coming here... feeding the sea lion was a bit boring no music and the trainers didn't have them perform for their food like they did in the past hardly saw much animals however i enjoyed coming nevertheless

Tom Zieba

Suuuuuch a good time! Free roaming peacocks, sea lions in the center plaza, indoor pavilions with reptiles and inviting nature trails to explore. There's a petting and feeding zoo with barn animals. Entrance is $10 per adult and kids under 3 are free. Really fun thing to do in BK with the kids. Smoke parking right outside on street bordering the park provided you get there early.

Cesar Padilla

Nice place small vut good for the younger kids

Mirbek Toktobekov

Great place to bring your kids!

Vanda Checkley

Great place to take children and adults have fun to

Jessica Antonelli

It's a small zoo but I loved it. It's a good place to spend a few hrs in, not overwhelming.

tclarke881

Went on a family trip. The Zoo was nice with different entrances that housed different animals.Such as goats, birds, monkeys, snakes, sea lions, turtles, and fishes. Oh and there were peacocks as well. It is a small average zoo. No, unfortunately they do not have gorillas, zebras or giraffes. Im sure they would have these at the Bronx, NY zoo. The staff were great and helpful. Overall, great to take the kids and family.

Revanth R

The indoor attractions are so good. Small zoo & quicker to walk around.

Ravi Viswanathan

Among the NYC WCS zoos this felt like this one had the fewest animals. It's definitely got lots of turtles! The barn was also a bit of a let down compared even to other NYC zoos. The animal feed was crazy expensive and then you had to some how feed the animals through narrow gaps in the fence. Just for comparison, the Queens and Bronx zoos are pretty awesome experiences. Even the Central Park zoo in the middle of Manhattan.

Lude Liang

My son love this place.

Reuven Overlander

Nice Small Zoo, enjoyed spending time here with family, one of the staff were being really rude when requesting the kids to stand back from the area where they were going to feed the sea lions, certainly could have been more respectful, otherwise this is a nice place to visit and see some of G-d's beautiful creations

Eugene Summers

We were astounded at how much the zoo offered for such a low ticket price. The aviary, sea lion exhibit, and monkey enclosures were all fantastic. We were able to leisurely take about 500 pictures in two hours on an April Saturday and we were never crowded.

Shari Greenidge

It was so much fun. The kids enjoyed themselves. There was only one exhibit that I didn't see an animal. Far better than the queens zoo.

Evelyn Irizarry

Great place to enjoy nature, the animals and the scenery.

james Wilson

Very nice zoo. Small but plenty of animals and outdoor activities. Sea lions stole the show

Starquasia Sealy

The best time to come is right when the part opens. You can see everything in about 2.5 hours and it is alot less crowded

Dainna Mcmillon

Great first experience for my baby girl. She loved it. Just wish it was bigger.

Michael Barabash

Small but nice place to see at least once. Only need to spend 2 hours tops.

Deborah Georges

Nice little day for the kids.

shaina kohan

So so much fun. My toddler loves to walk around and see all the animals even though we go there so often. Its fun and entertaining especially the pathways, feeding the animals and the sea lion

Orlando Martinez

Felt bad for the animals bc they'r in jail but the keepers take good care of them

Andrew Ringel

While the zoo is on the small side there is still lots of fun. The discovery tail is a nice scenic walk with lots of interesting animals including dingos in red pandas. The Barn is also lots of fun were you get to feed and pet animals. What's really nice about it being small is you can see the whole thing in one day. If you want fun for the whole family this is the place to go.

Love this small zoo with our family. A few hours of fun and usually not super busy.

Leon Ng

Small, but good for a short visit with kids.

Fatima Paredes

Beautifully amazing, had a great time interacting with the animals theres also red panda n dingos but the pictures speak for themselves. Worth going to Prospect Park Zoo you wont be disappointed!!!

Cynthia Vargas

Love prospect park Zoo, is small , but is very nice place for kids.

John D'Amico

Best to go on a cool day weather-wise, or you may not see some of the animals because it's too hot for them. This is no fault of the Zoo. They have some pretty good exhibits here,

Sandra Marr

Nice, small zoo. Don't miss the sea lion feeding!

Emily Colon

Had a great visit. It was pretty empty when I went so I got to experience everything at my own pace. Would definitely recommend going during the middle of the day on a colder or cloudy day so you dont have to worry about kids everywhere. The restrooms were clean. The price was reasonable. Saw everything in about 2 hours. Watch out for the peacocks, they roam everywhere.

Dragonjade Gaming

Went spur of the moment with family adventure pass. Family enjoyed time at zoo. Not real big but personable.

Nicole Woo

The size of the zoo is great if you have 45 minutes to an hour to spend. However, due to the small size, I can’t help but feel bad for the animals here; they barely have space to fly/swim/move around. There is a small petting zoo where you can pay $0.50 to feed snacks to sheep and goats.

Phil ip

Small zoo but perfect for a couple of hours of strolling. Loved how the peacocks just wander around. One of the things I learned there is that some animals survive much longer in a zoo and enjoy a better quality of life because of being so well cared for. There's a good variety of creatures from both land and sea. I highly recommend it for whenever the weather is good!

Jazz MiiN

Super cute and super small. Can be done within an hour. Upon entering you can go to the right and enter the trail and go see the dingos, porcupines, an emu, otters, peacocks, and others. After you walk out of that area there are seals, marmosets, frogs, iguanas, snakes, goats, sheep, a cow, etc. I love the zoo and making memories. Even though it's small I enjoyed it.

Dariia Ziganshina

Smsll, but very nice

Abideen Mohamed

Small, interesting Zoo. The best part is the hall of animals with the tamarins. It's fun watching the peacocks roam freely on the ground.

Justin Rogers-Cooper

The little ones had fun, I enjoyed the sea lion show and the walk throughout the park. Nice little Zoo to view a few animals. The girls especially loved the Barb yard and the sea lion show. We walked to one of the playgrounds and spent the rest of the afternoon there.

C. Ross

Love this place! It's a much smaller zoo that the Bronx so it's perfect for little legs that tire out quickly. While they don't have a large selection of animals, the Sea Lion feedings and Hamadryas Baboons make up for it. Reasonably priced, staff is friendly and during warm months you can visit Lefferts Historic House as well as the carousel to complete your trip!

m k

Great place to bring the kids..

Keisha Edwards

A bit small compared to most zoo's. You will be in and out in 30 mins. It's great it is connected to Prospect Park. Also, there are about 5 peacocks strolling around the zoo.

Alex Kogan

Mid sized zoo, was great for my 3 year old. If you are in the neighborhood it is definitely worth a visit.

The Prospect Park Zoo is operated by the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS). In conjunction with the Prospect Park Zoo's operations, the WCS offers children's educational programs, is engaged in restoration of endangered species populations, runs a wildlife theater, and reaches out to the local community through volunteer programs. Its precursor, the Menagerie, opened in 1890. The present facility first opened as a city zoo on July 3, 1935, and was part of a larger revitalization program of city parks, playgrounds and zoos initiated in 1934 by Parks Commissioner Robert Moses. It was built, in large part, through Civil Works Administration and Works Progress Administration (WPA) labor and funding.[1] After 53 years of operation as a city zoo run by the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation, Prospect Park Zoo, also colloquially known as "Brooklyn Zoo", closed on June 1988 for reconstruction.[5][6] The closure signaled the start of a five-year, $37 million renovation program, that, save for the exteriors of the 1930s-era buildings, completely replaced the zoo. It was rededicated on October 5, 1993, as the Prospect Park Wildlife Conservation Center, as part of a system of four zoos and one aquarium managed by the WCS,[a] all of which are accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). Animals in our Lives in the northern quadrant of the zoo has both indoor and outdoor exhibits illustrating myriad relationships between animals and people and animal adaptations. The Animals in Art themed area occupies one side of the Animals in Our Lives building. At the art station, drawing supplies are provided, and young visitors learn to observe wildlife by taking the time to sketch it. Some animals found here have been the subjects of art through the ages, while other up-close exhibits highlight the inherent beauty and form of certain species. The other side of the building showcases animals and their adaptations for a variety of survival needs. Here, visitors learn how colors help animals attract one another, blend into their surroundings or send off warning signals. A small nocturnal area showcases animals who have adapted to life at night. A small working barn further north of the building contains the Animals in Our Lives exhibit. It is organized around a working barn with sheep, cows, goats, ducks, geese and other animals.

Kassidy Stewart

A little slice of heaven. I can’t believe I’ve lived in Brooklyn almost 3 years and never knew about this place! It was so peaceful and relaxing to stroll along learning about the different animals housed there! If you have little kiddos then this is the perfect place to bring them! There’s interactive areas for kids to learn and play and it was wonderful to see so many happy families able to take their time without having to fight crowds like at larger zoos. One thing I found amusing was the fact that there were at least 3 gorgeous male peacocks strutting about on the lawns near the sea lion pool, posing for photos and generally looking like they owned the place. Magnificent creatures!

Angela Maaya

Really enjoyed this place both as a zoo and a nature trail. My favourite parts were being surprised by peacocks freely strolling around, a fashionista stingray in polka dots. The price is very decent compared to other NYC zoos, and before/after the zoo you can even go to Prospect Park (free) for more activities!

Roy Mano

Nice small zoo located at Prospect park. They have some interesting and exotic animals, a very big barn/ petting zoo and a cool adventure trail my son loved. Due to the small size of the zoo it won't take over an hour to cover most of it and food options aren't as abundant as in the Bronx zoo.

snehal kenjale

This is a good place for kids to see animals. There aren't many different species though.

Avi Shalom

Big zoo not expensive in the area of many other attractions in prospect park

Sachin Gupta

Kiddie zoo. Small and fun for kids. Be sure to take some quarters if like to feed birds and animals.

Hannah Meiklejohn

Small zoo, clean facilities, and great for children. Couldn’t see anyone spending more than an hour here though, limited number of animals on display in comparison to other zoos in the city.

Karen Quackenbush

I was amazed by how many animals and exhibits were there. A great use of space. Well designed and well maintained. Delightfully interactive for young children. Knowledgeable docents are available in each area to answer questions about particular occupants. So much to see and learn.

Feng Liu

It was quite small when compared with bronx zoo, but pretty good place to see decent amount of animals

360 Outing

Even in the winter season there are plenty of things to go through with your kids. The Barn especially, love those cute animals. We fed all of them

Carey McIntyre

I love this zoo!!! With such a limited space, they do a wonderful job. The nature trail is always a highlight for me and the children.

Gene Goldenberg

Small but nice. Great for little children

ursula13112@gmail.com Atherley

This zoo is great for small children, or a 1 time visit. I hadn't been in maybe 8 years the exhibits are exactly the same. The only new addition is a animatronic dinosaur, on display to inform visitor that the bronx zoo has a dinosaur exhibit. Aside from waiting for the feeding of the seals, you can finish this zoo in about 1 hour. If your kids wait to feed the poorly keep goats and sheep at the petting zoo.

Roman Iashchuk

Lots and lots of fun. You will spend there at least few hours.

John Ouellette

Gorgeous, well laid out park....fun for kids

Jimmy M

So much easier than going to a large zoo. Young kids enjoy the same.

Regina Jamison

Totally enjoyed Prospect Park Zoo. Small zoo but some interesting animals. Always feel bad about having them locked up. A few of them seemed agitated. The sea lion routine can make one forget. Hope all are treated well.

Simply Charlixe

Perfect place for little ones. The zoo is not big, but the size is perfect for little ones to walk around and see the animals. We loved watching the sea lions getting fed.

odette chambers

Small and clean environment...My toddler had a great time

jin liu

You can up and close to lot of animals, very good for children.

Gregory Jones

Nice place to see animals, maybe next time in could see the monkeys

malky lefkowitz

Very nice experience kids friendly

Toxic Trooper

The price is convenient! I loved it the animals and attractions are awesome!

Jennifer Zivkovich

It's a small zoo but I feel like that works better for the kids because they can see everything and stay as long as they want in one place without me feeling the need to bug them about moving on so we can see more. This is definitely a quick trip. If you're an adult looking for a nice zoo trip then this may not be for you, you should probably go to the bronx zoo

Shawn Lane

It's a very small version of the Bronx Zoo. They do not have all.of the animals that you would see in the Bronx Zoo. But it is still fun

Yolo .Vision

Small but enjoyed my visit. Knowledgeable staff and wondering animals.

Adam Segal-Isaacson

Great small zoo. Good for short trips. Lots of smaller animals indoors and out, including farm animals and ducks you can feed. Watch the sea lions be fed in the afternoon (check schedule). No larger animals (elephants, big cats, bears, etc)--for that go to the Bronx Zoo. Prospect Park Zoo is great for a short trip with small children. Warning: the cafeteria has only snacks essentially. Bring lunch if your trip covers lunchtime. There are tables outside where you can eat.

Charles Major

Nice little zoo with some interesting animals!

Cameron Belger

Love the animals - great creatures!

Angela Godwin

Such a great experience! Who knew so much was right off Flatbush! Best decision to become a member.

Great sealion show, not too many animal species, and the ice cream booth was closed when we were hot and craving for icecream.

Manasvi Rajan

Good place for kids outing. Small zoo but lot activities and educational program on animals and wildlife. Bring your own food, not too many options from Cafeteria.

Richy Ramirez

Nice little zoo. Keep your expectations in check, & enjoy

Jason Stackhouse

Great little zoo for kids. It's smaller, so can see the whole thing in a couple hours. Zoo seems to cater to the under 10 crowd.

Kara Bristow MacDevitt

Small zoo, nice if you have a membership. Not many animals.

Joyner Francie

Great atmosphere great people and unbelievable species. If you like to save memories as picture. You gonna definitely love this place.

Jikla R

This zoo is not like the one from the 80's they had many more animals and it was bigger.

rodrick graves

No better place to relax and unwine and enjoy nature

Farrowle Leman

Good place to visit with family and friends.

Angie Williams

Nice little zoo, comfortable place for a small family picnic with nice photo ops

Jervis Dabreo

Nice family liming spot, but it could do with a few more animals.

Novella B

Small enough to see everything in an hour. Some of the signage are misleading and the exhibits are missing, for instance the flamingo in the avery. They charge full price even in the last hour of closing. A good zoo for younger children and they love the petting section.

Mimi G

Cute little small zoo, staten island zoo is better.

Tague Marcus

One of the best place I visited. Everything inside this place is just natural and extremely beautiful.

Donna Sinclair

The nicest place to spend the day with your kids

Crystal Laikhram

It was really nice but really small. I feel like The Bronx Zoo is much bigger with way more animals and activities. Also, you can't get in for free on Wednesdays like you can at The Bronx Zoo.

Danny Hayden

It's tough to rate any zoo. If compared to the Bronx zoo, it doesn't compete. If you are looking for a smaller zoo that you can cover it all in a shorter amount of time, it's great. Be sure to visit the web site to know the animals that are there, and aren't there. It's a nice clean park. One thing they can do to improve is get some items for the very very small gift shop. It's pretty non existent. We were there to buy and left mostly empty handed but for a few lil things. Also have to street park as they have no lot.

Alicia Crete

Great place for kids. You could do it in an hour or so

Elisabeth Odiema

Good for everyone enjoy your day. I would love to recommend until to don't visit you couldn't know how amazing this place is?

Joshua Kitlas

Solid spot for the kiddos. Can see everything and get in and out of there in a couple hours.

Meena Kandasamy

It's a cozy park---not too many animals to see--but the sea lions are just great and even in winter it is a good place to take a walk. my personal favourite are all the beautiful peacocks--gives a surreal effect for an Indian woman to see them in the heart of Brooklyn!

Melywhitli Feliciano

Really nice time will go back soon

Aviva Appel

A small zoo, but a fun way to spend an hour.

Sandy Gordon

Fun for younger kids.

Cherie Johnson

Love this park, the zoo is very nice and there is a Merry go round. There is so much to do and enjoy in this park. Parking can be a little hard to find. It's easy to get to by train.

JULIA NABIULLINA

If you have a kid and thinking what to do today- go to Prospect Park Zoo! It’s cozy, not too big and welcoming. Good mood is guaranteed. We all loved it! Feed the goats/sheep, watch the sea lion, laugh at monkeys, go to the playroom for kids- so much to do! They have a new “resident” now- a mountain cat. Beautiful!

Mark Shahon

Great exhibits. Love the seals

Matthew Seabrook

This zoo far exceeded expectations! We went on a bit of a rainy day, but there were absolutely no crowds so it was a very comfortable experience. Both the indoor and outdoor exhibits had an interesting array of animals, and this zoo was far less depressing than most I've been too - the animals all seemed relatively comfortable (at least as much as animals in a zoo can be).

Esther Bowen

A great experience for any age

Nasibakhon Abralova

Very pleasant place...kids enjoy going there every time even though they have visited more than 3 times

Aaron Charles

Clean Especially enjoy the petting zoo not the same old Prospect Park Zoo that I know growing up

Rodrick Graves

With in Brooklyn New York right in the heart of New York, there's an oasis and it's called Prospect Park

Natty Satenay

Love The Party Idea.

Sofia Fuchs

we had a good time but it sucked taking a stroller down the stairs, maybe we missed the elevator but I don't think so. They need a ramp or something. If they have something, make it more obvious.
