Why dont you guys do trails rides on weekdays? My only day off is Monday and I've been wanting to do this for a while, but it looks like I'm gonna have to look elsewhere

Danika Donley

They should be disgusted with what they have become. It used to be a place of education and ideas of caring for animals, now it's a greedy money pit. These animals are not injured nor do they need rehabilitation, they are bought to attract people to make money. I'm horrified a local legend has become as ignorant as sea world. Will never spend my money at charming farm. Yeah, real charming for sure.

Charmingfare Farm is very clean and peaceful Their animals are clean and we'll feed and very friendly The staff are there for any questions you have and very respectable My 5yr old grand daughter has special need and bringing her to a country setting being with animals does her so good, she loves it.

Charmingfare Farm is split roughly into two sections, the farm/petting area and the "zoo" portion. The prices are pretty high at $19pp, $10 for the small container of animal feed, and items in the store are marked up quite a bit. Overall, the farm area is pretty well kept and the animals seem pretty happy. There were numerous employees wandering around the farm, tending to the animals. The "petting area" had sheep, goats, mini horses, a cow, donkeys, and alpacas. The farm also included horses, potbellied pigs, a few chickens, baby chicks, and some rabbits. All of the above animals had decent enclosures, and although I'm sure they wouldn't mind more room they had similar space to other farms. Onto the "zoo" portion of things. It's kind of a nightmare, but has potential if they just spread things out a bit. The animals do not have adequate room IMO. I'm sure they meet minimum regulations, but I would think that is in regard to temporary enclosures. But these wild animals LIVE in these small environments. They are surrounded by woods, I honestly don't understand why the enclosures are so small. All of the animals they keep are used to hunting and walking in large areas and they don't get that here. Leaving them to pace about anxiously. Additionally, the zoo area is only appeared to have mild upkeep, if that. The ponds were full of scum and super thick with debris. Trees were overgrown into the paths. The grass was super tall. Water troughs were full of debris and hardly any water (on a nearly 90 degree, super humid day). You will need bugspray as the mosquitos and horse flies were intense and put for blood (not odd since you're walking through woods attached to a farm, but just a tip). Its honestly just sad and not worth the trip, money, or heartache. It they resumed the wild animals, they would really have something here since the petting zoo and farm are pretty nice. And they could be nice if the employees didn't have to attempt to make the zoo area passable. Just a thought.

The horseback trail ride was a wonderful time. The horses are all well behaved, the guide was excellent and friendly, and the scenery is beautiful in the woods around the farm! I highly recommend this, especially to those who, like me when I went, have never ridden a horse before.

Becky Cote

Great place for kids. Brang my 4 & 3 year old for the easter egg hunt. Very fun, geared especially for kids, super fun and easy. You get to see animals, feed animals, get a tractor hay ride, horse drawn hayride. We will definatly keep visiting.

theresa ruppert

My family and I have enjoyed several different events hosted by Charmingfare Farm and we've always been delighted! They take great care in planning every detail to ensure the little ones as well as the adults have a wonderful time. The costumed characters at Santa's Big Party or the Halloween Hayride, resident animals and the seasonal goodies make for a fun time for all!

CM R

Small. but cute place for kids.

Kenneth Nollet

NOT enough stars for them! I had a life long fear of horses, to end it I signed up for a trail ride, They take time to let you "practice" before going out, it took me maybe 15 minutes and I was loving it and cannot wait to go back in Spring! EXCELLENT time I can't thank them enough, after 52 years I no longer have a fear of horses. Not to mention their impeccable zoo no better way to spend a day.

Amanda Bacon

My sister and I took our children here, ages 3, 5, and 7. They had a great time on the sleigh ride, going through the woods and then meeting Santa and his buddies. We had hot chocolate and cookies, and as promised - the kids all got a chance to meet Santa. It was really sweet.

Victoria Roy

It's way way too pricey for what you get. It's nice enough just really small. I left feeling ripped off.

Chris Moore

We had a great time at the farm. Sleigh rides, animals to pet and feed(they sell animal food), bonfires. A great place for kids and adults alike! The hot chocolate was incredible!

emily mchale

Our almost two year old had an absolute blast! From the wagon ride to all the animals she loved it from start to finish.

Eric Bakke

Went to their haunted hayride. Definitely geared towards families. The younger ones were more scared than the older ones and the trip is not too long. We enjoyed it with a 10yo and 8yo.

This place is a mixed bag. The farm animals are lots of fun for smaller kids, especially the goat area where they can feed and pet the goats. The tractor ride is included with the price of admission. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a picnic area, so you can bring a lunch or snacks with you. The only downside is the “zoo” section with wild animals. They have 2 black bears, a wolf, coyote, mountain lion, etc. These animals are kept in very small chain link enclosures, with very little stimulation. This part is pretty depressing.

Lindsay Currivan

I am very upset about all of the wild animals in tiny cages..." Reindeer", wolves, bears, mountain lions, cougars, bobcats. All of these animals aren't meant to sit In a metal box they are meant to run and roam free. I noticed on a comment that they had the same cougar that's there now that was there 15 years ago... It's disgusting. What an awful life. This shows the type of people that own this place. In it for the money, obviously. $30.00 for a 5 minute crowded hay ride, and a 4 minute Easter egg hunt, no thanks. Never giving you my money again.

G C

Don't go in the winter time they don't even clear the snowy path to walk. Definitely not worth the money I spent and doesn't take much to make me happy. Maybe on there holiday events are better but never again. My daughter couldn't even see the rest of the animals baecuse of how bad the walking paths were.

Ashley Peters

We've been going to Charmingfare for years and absolutely love it. Our two year old loves to feed the animals and the holiday events they have really keep her attention. Go with the whole family!

Karen Sexton

Fun time as always. We have done their CSA in the past, and now have a membership and the kids love going. The Xmas events are always a hit.

Barbee & Hayden

15 years ago I took my daughter here, today I took my 6 year old son, they have much more now. And the same beautiful cougar back then was here today , we were lucky she was very friendly and active today! & she is just as beautiful today as she was then! We stayed for over 3 hours & my son still didn't want to leave! The bob cat was also active and playful today. Fun & relaxing day! Please keep in mind when visiting this farm, these animals were Born in captivity they don't know "the wild" so there 30×60 cages with over grown shrubs are ideal for them, with plenty of shade! animals sleep when hot this is what ALL animals do when its hot out to conserve their energy! Note, all animals had water available (I checked every one of them!) My only complaint, is (1) those little signs in front of the animals area that says "do not cross barrier" should tell something about that particular animal(2) Update map.

Lenny logan

We went back in December and were extremely let down! Nothing is as advertised. All of the sights on the sleigh ride were severely dated, ugly, cheap, and felt like a slap in the face as they were stealing my money! There are next to no people working there and nothing to really do after we lost our money on the sleigh ride. The hot chocolate and snacks were small and expensive. I asked to talk to a manger and was told that no one was available. I asked for money back and they said I had to see a manger. I waited for 15 minutes and then left mad! I don't see a reason for anyone to go here even if it was 100% Free. I would love to consult with them on how to make it awesome!

justin agraz

Family friendly fun! We have gone to many of the farm's egg hunts, all 3 of our kids have really enjoyed them! Worth the one hour drive for us.

Jennifer Hunter

I tried to purchase tickets for their Christmas Eve sleigh ride, they were having technical difficulties with the site so I couldn't get a confirmation # after entering my credit card info. I called them multiple times that day and left messages but no one returned my calls. I went to the event on Christmas Eve and I was turned away because I did not have a reservation and they had no record of my transactions. On Dec. 26 they charged my credit card twice for a total of $200!! I couldn't even get a rep to call me back. Buyer beware do not give them your credit card info, they will charge you with not so much as a confirmation!!

Marianne Vines

This was the first year that my family visited Charmingfare Farm for the Egg-Citing Egg Hunt. We had the best time! My two year old grandson loved it, but there were big smiles on the adult's faces the whole time as well. I highly recommend this event for all families. What wonderful memories! We are already looking forward to attending another event!

George Bousquet

Glad the tickets were won on the radio not worth the trip.cheap decorations not that many lights as they say north pole sucks they charge $8.00 for a 4 oz container so you can feed there animals.sleigh ride shared with packed 20 people very disappointing.don't go waste of time.

Eileen Tully

Eh, it's just okay. I thought it was overpriced. (Consider that an annual family membership to the Philadelphia Zoo costs $150 for two adults and up to six children with no $39 "Enfollment fee.") It's charming, but not THAT charming.

Paula Gardner

My Granddaughter loved it and it made her crazy happy...which made me a happy grammy.

Erin O'Shaughnessy

I took the kids to the Trick or Treat event in October 2016 - they had a wonderful time. I really like that the farm is a quick trip for us (from Manchester), we had good weather and the event itself was very nice. The girls (both 7 years old) very much enjoyed the pony ride, wagon ride, cornfield maze, feeding the animals and the trick or treating. In addition, the decorations were great (better than my house!) and I found the staff to be both welcoming and helpful.

Mariah Frisella

We had a great time at the Maple Express at Charmingfare Farm. Our daughter loved the horse drawn carriage ride out to the sugar shack where we enjoyed roasting marshmellos by the fire, tasted maple syrup on hot panackes, and even pet a few farm animals. We highly recommend this for all ages!

Eliza Brickett

The tree spree was so much fun! My kids had a blast seeing all the animals and feeding a real reindeer. Our tree is gorgeous and very reasonably priced. The staff was very helpful and courteous. I can't wait to do this again next year. It will be a great tradition!

Alex Nguyen

Expensive for what it is, and not very wel organized

Melissa Caddel

Charmingfare Farm is so much fun with lots to do! Not only are the grounds beautiful and clean, the staff is super friendly! Thank you for always a fun-filled day each time we come!

Sue Lynn

Our sleigh had a mixture of pint size kids, married couples of different ages and first dates. I bought the s'more packed for my husband and self. Ended up giving them to the little kids. I apologized to the mom after. A little sugar kick. The fire pit is awsome.

Meredith Hill

This was our first experience at Charmingfare Farm Trick or Treat. We brought our two grandchildren (ages 3 and 8mos). It was very well organized. We naturally went from one activity to the next. We walked from the pony ride to hay ride which brought us to the haunted barn where we were picked up by a tractor that brought us to the corn maze which led us back to where we started. Such a joy not to have to think where to go next! The animals (live and costumed handing out treats) were weaved into the experience throughout. The only challenge we had was having to leave the baby carriage at the hay ride and having to walk all the way back to pick it up. The staff were very friendly as were the animals! We will definitely go back.

Amy-Kaitlin Martin

I absolutely love this place. My family and I have been many times. Often to their special events such as the children's trick or treat and the easter egg hunt. My children are 4 and 2 and have been going here since they were infants. We have a membership which is well worth it and helps with the cost of tickets. We love all the animals and the staff is always very friendly and helpful. It is easy to walk around and enjoy the farm at your own pace. I'm not sure why some of the previous reviewers found it difficult to find their way around the farm. Perhaps they need a tour guide to help them walk down the obvious paths? This is definitely a perfect family place. Especially if you enjoy small zoos, warm and friendly staff, and a great day with your family. I highly recommend it

Nicki Runci

My family and I had an incredible time at Charmingfare Farm this past weekend! The kids got to meet the Grinch and drink hot cocoa and dance with Santa! The horse ride through the woods was amazing as well! We couldn't have asked for a better day! We'll definitely be back! :-)

Megan Leduc

I will never be returning to Charminfare Farm. After recently going, I am completed shocked as to how anxious and depressed the animals looked. The fox was in complete distress and was crying for help. The overgrowth in front of the cages is also unkept, so if you have children make sure to check them for ticks before heading home!

Kelly Pruett

Santa's Big Party was a perfect family event. We were at the farm for about two hours. It was a cold day between bundling up and the camp fires they had going (and of course the hot chocolate) we were plenty warm. We will defiantly be going back here again in the summer for some one the warm weather activities. The farm is easy to get to and there was plenty of parking. We liked that we could go at our own pace, because visiting the animals was almost as exciting at meeting Santa. We also liked that Santa had a nice "outdoorsy" outfit on rather then the standard red suit. Looking forward to going back!

Tracy Walden

Such a great night with my family.

Kelly Perkins

My kids came down with the stomach bug so we were not able to go and they would not reschedule for another open date for me, so that was $140 gone.... I was extremely disappointed with their poor customer service, we were all looking forward to going. I would not recommend them.

Katrina Russell

It's cute and fun for the kids to run around.. it's nice that the hayrides and things are included... but real bathrooms would be nice

Pat Rogers

They have some good animals there, hayrides and stuff, haunted hayride and sell Christmas trees

Hoos Ela

They must stop having wild animals there. They must take them to a place where they can be properly cared for and be the wild animals that they are. The poor animals are depressed and pacing back and forth in tiny enclosures. How can so many people pass by these poor animals and STILL give a good review? Please, please, please put these animals in a place where their quality of life can be better.

erik burns

Veterans are free with military ID. Me & my kids love this place, especially the hayrides :)

Amanda Cabral

We visited Charmingfare Farm for the first time as a family for their Trick or Treat event. It was cold, dreary and raining but we bundled up and made the best of the weather and we are SO GLAD WE DID. Our young toddler loved the event. We were unsure of how he would handle any "spooky" decorations or characters but it was perfectly balanced and we had a lot of fun. There were also a lot more animals out throughout the farm than we expected and it made our day even better because our son is a huge animal lover. We had a great day, the event was fun and we will definitely be coming back again! The staff was courteous and friendly without being overbearing or smothering us and that was genuinely appreciated. Thank you!!!

Gary Carpenter

For the price they charged, I was extremely disappointed. Pros: feeding the goats was fun for the kids, pony ride was okay even though the staff was late, reindeers were cute, staff was friendly. Cons: Most of animals do not look like they are well taken care of...for example...small chained cages for singular animals like the cougar, lynx, fox, etc...they looked miserable and probably lonely. The duck cage had gross water that they were drinking from. The place is just pretty run down and not well maintained. We were excited to see the camel, bear, and wolves, but did not see any. No idea if they were hiding or just not there. Their envirmonts are not easy to see in and you can't even walk around them We paid $100 for the 5 of us. I would not come here again...even if it was free. I really hope they close for good so these animals can be placed in better homes. The stone zoo for example is very well maintained and their animals seem like they are in better environments.

Sal Rani

I wish I read the reviews before coming here. My animal loving kid left the place in tears because of the deplorable conditions of the animals.I have just read reviews going way back complaining about the same issue and it seems that the owners just don't care since nothing has changed in years.

Sherry Hickman

We had a great time during their Trick or Treat day. Lots of family fun on a beautiful autumn day!

Daniel Postoronka

My family and I have been coming here for the past 3 years for horse rides and other amazing activities to choose from and it already has become a culture to us to come here 2ish times a year. I definately recommend coming here with a large group of people such as your family.

Kylo Larenso

Me and my family love coming to Charmingfare Farm. The zoo is very big very clean and beautiful . The tours are worth it, the prices are very affordable.

Jenn Salazar

We LOVE this place. It is a friendly New England type of atmosphere with wonderful people. The farm has so many options - visiting, lunch time on the picnic tables, fall and halloween options, and christmas time fun. We love coming here again and again!

Dan McLaughlin

Such a great time! Very cold night but the little one just loved the horse drawn wagon ride to the North Pole, through the Christmas themed woods, to meet Santa and his friends. She even danced with Rudolph and Frosty! We'll be back next year.

Emily t

The animals are suffering. Wolves have a natural habitat of over 500 miles in the wild and here they are in a small cage. The mountain lions pace back and forth. This is despicable and whoever condones this has no heart. Take your kids to a wildlife refuge instead.

james petropoulos

It didn't matter the season, or the event from hay rides to sleigh rides or just visiting the animals. Myself my wife and the grandchildren every time we went we all loved it. The people working for you were all so friendly thank you for the experience we will be back with other family members.

Lloyd Howes

We had purchased tickets from travelzoo so we got a great deal from there. Upon our arrival, the farm looked utterly amazing, beautiful, and looked liked we were going to have a great time. When we stopped in at the ticket office, the girl behind the counter took our tickets from travelzoo and stated we did not have a reservation for the day, we had booked the zoo and the horseback riding trail ride. Luckily I had all the paperwork, just in case as I always do. We proved to her that we had a reservation NOT only from travelzoo but ALSO a confirmed email from Charmingfare Farm!!! for 1130am (trail ride). We arrived at 930 so that we could visit the zoo first and then go on to the trail ride. The zoo was nice, and the area was clean as a whistle. We began to ask some questions to the workers, but they were not very friendly, except for one young man. They have no postings about the animals and some (a cow from Asia, a ZuZu) but they want and push you to buy seed (at 4.00 per 5oz) to feed them. I was taken back that noone wanted to be bothered to answer any questions - especially about the camel and lynx. There are no signs as to tell you where to continue to go for the zoo, only "do not enter" signs are posted along the way so you have to double back on a couple of sections. All in all the zoo was okay - clean which to me is important In regards to the trail ride - we were booked for 1130 and were to meet at the paddock by 1115am. To which we did, but no one was there to greet us. We stood around for about 20 minutes (5 minutes past our reservation time) when we went to ask the girl at the counter (yes same one) if we were at the right location - she said "ya but we sent the first group out really late so you'll have to wait" When asked how long as we had reservations, she was quite rude and said "when they get back". Well, (1) we paid for reservations (2) we were confirmed for the reservation (3) it states on the receipt if your late we do not wait for you....when I brought up these points she said "well cant tell ya anything have no idea when they left or when they will return just wait till to see the horses coming back". Are you kidding me? What about my time? What ever happened to someone talking back to you in a polite way? ' The party that was before us was about 1/2 to 40 minutes late returning. We were then at that point just sitting on the ground, as there are NO benches or places to sit and wait at this location, there are no drinks to purchase so we waited for all to leave. The two guides came over and said to grab helmets, no help in making sure they fit us correctly and then we were on our merry way 40 minutes late and the two guides talking about the last bunch who had no idea how to ride and caused them to be late. We were told to stay in a single line and we were going to only walk at a slow speed (and I mean slow) as these horses had to work all day!!! Seriously? So during our guided tour, to which the guides did not talk, unless we spoke to them and it was not about the area. We asked to stop to take some photos and we could not (although we were told to bring our camera and yes, a $5.00 tip for each guide was MANDATORY! we were told we could not stop for photos but.....we had to stop when each horse took a dump. We did not trot we only walked at a slllllooooowww pace. We did not see what the website had to offer we did see some green land but we were guided into the woods for the remainder of the ride. Had I paid full price for this (77.00 per person) It would have been a total waste of money. Overall, I give it a two as the one guide was nice and the one gentleman (young man) was nice other then that I really would not recommend to my friends

Pattie Fields

What a great place to visit! We went to see the maple sugar process. Can't wait to go back in warmer weather to see animals and next winter for a sleigh ride. Highly recommended!!

Mark Bishop

I agree the price is high and not worth the money. Feeding and petting the domestic animals was fun. However, the wild animals live in slums. The poor skunk spends his days on a cement slab. The bears were bored. Not sure if there were more than one wolf and one coyote, I didn't see any. But they are pack animals who need others of their kind. I would gladly pay the high price if this was a modern run zoo. It's just a farm that appears not to be concerned about the wild animals

William Pfingston

Visited yesterday for the Pumpkin Festival. I was disappointed not to see the milking contest, cow fly pie etc. As advertised. We arrived at 10:00 am and activities (per their website) stated they began at 11:00 am. We departed at 11:45 only to ride the tractor ride once and participate in a very unorganized pumpkin painting area. I have visited in the past for the Easter event which was much better organized... Maybe a down day?

amneris aguilar

Beautiful place

Courtney F

I think kids would enjoy this but the lighted wonderland is grossly overpriced for what it is. $60 for 2 people to ride in a crowded sleigh to see a couple shoddy Christmas displays spaced very far apart on a somewhat ominous trail through the woods. The lighted displays looked very amateur and not at all impressive like the website description builds it up to be. The North Pole had a single house to take pictures in front of and a small shack with an employee selling hot cocoa. There were 3 costumed characters. There were a few reindeer but they weren't hungry and just slept. I imagine there's no refunds on the expensive cups of reindeer food. We left immediately. I can't see spending more than $10 for the experience. All the workers were nice and riding in a horse drawn sleigh is cool, but $29 a person is asking way too much for a handful of lit up sheds with loud generators in the middle of the woods.

Jen Briere

Great for toddlers.

Samantha Lynn

Adorable. There's plenty of parking, you walk in and pay admission, or if you're a guest you can bring as many people for free as you please. Bags of animal feed are $3 a pop and you get to walk around and see all the different animals. There are pony rides for young children, and there is a goat pen that you can open and roam around and sit on rocks and play with and pet them. They are super lovable (just don't bring your feed bag with you!!!) There are cows and deer and black bears as well as a wolf and cougar and foxes and skunks. It's a super cool hands on farm that offer tractor rides and tours. Enjoy!

Kim Davis

Just love the slay ride and the Christmas lights so pretty

Anthony Dimambro

Harvest of RIPOFFS! I paid $116 for advertised attractions that were not open. I ask for my money back and they asked me to leave. Charmingfare farm you should be ashamed.

Holds unlocked potential

Sue Williams

I am a little bit of a new one of the most important thing is that that that that that that that that for the first time in the morning and I will be a good time to time and money to pay for the first time in the morning and I will be a good time to

Mel Lem

Now that I have time here is my list of disappointments from Charmingfare Farm. I did post on their page but I doubt they will allow it. Gotta say I was really disappointed with the farm and will not be returning. On the website it states rides are weather permitting not school vacation permitting- let down #1, no miniature horses-#2, no camels-#3, no turkeys-#4, no foxes, skunks, porcupines or boat play structure no picnic tables in this area either-#5 (looks like there hasn't been for awhile), birds of pray exhibit shuttered with broken windows and closed-#6, reindeer were actually fallow deer-#7. Definetly not worth the $40 for my 4 year old and I. The map was clearly not from updated and printed this year as their website states. And yes my son can read a map and was quite aware of the missing animals and rides. He was the one that pointed them out to me. Complete waste of time, money and gas.

Lianne Poisson

Great place for kids! They have some fun events. The zoo animals are all local to NH. We will definitely be back!

Larry Hilton

Was not worth the money, corn maze was closed no offer of discount, staff was friendly but scary actors were not into it only a few scares through out the event weak at best. Don't waste your money

Erin Elizabeth

Wonderful time at the farm 2 year in a row for the Easter egg hunt. Perfect for my 3 year old boy. Love seeing/feeding the animals, taking a horse drawn carriage ride, and collecting eggs. Loving our spring trip here, will go again. Also offered on Groupon.

Bonnie Viola

Do not reserve the horse ride. There are no refunds even of they cancel. They cancel ALOT. The credit is good forever, but I don't consider that acceptable. We have booked 2 years in a row, using the credit the second time. Now we have another credit for nothing. So theoretically if we are still around we can book yet again next year.

Lianne Charbonneau

Went here during the summer. Just as expensive as a zoo with not many animals. Not worth the drive unless you live close.

Jayme Putnam

If I had written a review about 5 minutes after leaving it would be much more scathing than the one I am writing because we had a terrible time. In fairness it was a kind of a cold day so things like a long line can be a whole lot more annoying so I will step back and try to be a little more fair. I purchased tickets for the Easter egg hunt, which was not a hunt but more of a collection or handing of eggs. The chocolate was Lindt and very good. We still had to wait for quite awhile despite pre-paying and finally some guy who didn't cut it for a Disney employee handed us the tickets. The marketing for this event was EXACTLY how it was advertised but not a stitch more and done in the least efficient manner possible. In terms of value I guess we paid for what you would pay to see the Easter Bunny at the mall, but with a petting zoo attached. Little things like being nearly trampled after getting in line for the tractor for a long time (the people next to us actually were in line the second time because they got cut off on the first round) just to have someone hand us in egg that we had to wait in line to exchange for some coupons and four more pieces of candy, to having not having any signage for restrooms (we found one--just one super filthy porta potty). Not this places fault that my kid fell in the mud but if there was some sort of baby changing station around I wasn't made aware of it. There were three parking lot attendants but they did nothing to help or warn people of the giant pile of lumber randomly sitting in the parking lot we were assigned to which made it hard to navigate. These are just a few of the mild annoyances that we encountered. Needless to say I had contemplated a season pass but opted to just pass. I would rather have spent twice as much to have had the same experience done right. Bottomline: it just wasn't much fun.

Natalie LaRoche

John THANK YOU SO MUCH for going out of your way to make last minute arrangements for our daughter's Sweet 16!! Lillie was great and we appreciate her coming out JUST TO ACCOMMODATE US!! You guys are AMAZING!! Your kindness and this experience is one we will never forget. -Natalie, Lynn, Madison & Sadie

Olivia Fedigan

We took our one year old daughter and were a little sceptical of how much she would enjoy Santa's Big Party but it was a total success! We'll be back next year!

Kyle Francois

Absolutely shocked with how many wonderful animals they had. We live in Hooksett, NH and couldn't believe how close this was to our house. It was amazing to me they had a wolf as well as black bears(much, much more). Will be back many times and I'd recommend the same to anyone else.

amy desrochers

I had a coupon and it still wasn't worth it. Couldn't see the animals, cause the grass was over grown. There is no sinks that works. We never go back or send anyone there.

Marlene Charleston

The price was high, and the day we went it was beautiful and we were told no rides at all, no reason given. I was not impressed. We saw no staff in any of the barns. The barn where the pigs were, terrible. The cow in the pen, there was no food, and no water. Not one staff around, we walked all the way back to the entrance to let them know about a piglet with its head stuck in the fencing and a pregnant pig was outside the pen. Sorry Charmingfare but I was very disappointed ☹️

Amanda Archibald

It was our first time going and my boys loved it. It's family oriented and kid friendly. Something nice to do on a afternoon.

Amy Tessier

As a gift we received a membership to the Farm. It was $99 for the entire season and included events like the Teddy Bear Picnic last weekend. My 2 year old twin boys absolutely love it there. We generally go about once per week and it is a place I am comfortable bringing the boys without help. There are just enough animals and activities to keep us busy - including the petting area. The staff are super friendly, too. Next year I plan to do the CSA and the veggies looked wonderful!

Valene Coleman

My kids enjoyed seeing the animals, however most of them you couldn't see because the weeds so overgrown. They need to clean up the grounds and the animals cages. Going into the petting zoo part was disgusting, there was animal poop all over the gates. Also my daughter was really excited to get a pony ride as that was her favorite part from a few years ago but sadly they weren't doing pony rides. Used to be a nice little farm to take the kids to, but sadly they are letting the place fall apart it seems. My daughters comment while we were driving home was "I feel bad, I wish I could let all of those animals out of those cages"

Craig Brennan

Garbage, black bugs did nothing but attack my face. Waste of $19

Lesley Mallon

Our family went for the first time. We did the winter lights and horse drawn ride. The kids loved feeding the animals and especially loved the s’mores around the fire pit and cocoa. It was a fun time and worth it!

Stephen Priest

Spacious land. I have visited three times during summer and winter with my son. Have done horse back riding, horse drawn wagon rides and tractor rides. Enjoyed all three. Zoo is nice. Bears I remember the most. Colorful dragonflies, red and blue, hang out around the pond. We recently did Santa's Party. It was ok. Bring a mat or blanket to sit on for the rides or wear snow pants. Your bottom half will get wet:) Displays were nice. Costumes could use updating. Santa and Mrs. Claus were young. High marks for staff friendliness. Snow falling off trees added to scenery. Horses going to bathroom in front of us was funny. Hey, it couldn't be helped:) For kids who like the outdoors, I would recommend the horse back riding and zoo. Rides are nice. Night time ride during Christmas season, with snow, would be recommended. Kids may enjoy feeding animals.

Jared Foley

-100 stars for cruelty to wild animals. Do not support this business! I sadly must agree with many of the other reviews. Way overpriced, not kept up. The hayride was a short ride through the woods with nothing to see other than numerous run down sheds with leftover Xmas ornaments (in October...) But worst of all is the incredibly sad conditions for their wild animals that they simply should not own. Caged bobcats, cougars, wolves, with no room to roam. They even have bears which did nothing but pace back and forth. Most all of the wild animals clearly displayed signs of anxiety and depression, which is exactly how we felt by the time we left. Charmingfare Farm appears to be long overdue for a renovation, and their wild animals are left to suffer in the meantime. The farm animals were fine, but the wild animals suffering in inadequate habits need to be donated to a proper zoo or sanctuary. Until then, I will adamantly dissuade others from visiting.

Jacki Heistman

Absolutely terrible. There were only a few animals other than the goats and cows in the barn. Most cages are empty. No pony rides and only the goats as far a a “petting “ zoo. Even though they didn’t have everything they still charged full price. DO NOT GO THERE.

J. Cosimini

With family spread throughout New England we wanted to find a convenient location to meet for a winter family activity. Charmingfare Farm worked wonderfully for us. Our group included 6 adults and 3 kids and we had decided upon the Sleigh Ride Social. Although our plans fell on one of the coldest weekends this winter and well before there was enough snow on the ground to accumulate to anything, we all had a great time. We arrived and bundled up with time to feed some of the animals. The horse drawn wagon pulled up and took our group to the bonfire, which was by far the highlight of the evening. We all enjoyed roasting marshmallows and hot chocolate. The bonfire omitted enough heat and fun to keep our group warm and happy, but the gentleman roasting hot dogs was also very attentive and assisted with anything we needed during our stay. We would certainly consider a return visit for this event or another.

Jessica Cavallaro

Love this charming little gem! So many sights to see including adorable furry friends to the ferocious wild in an amazing outdoor scenic landscape! The sugar shack was also amazing and interesting! A must local see! We will definitely be back! Thank you! Fun for all ages!

Jay Howe

Girl at the counter was not even close to freindly, we were told nothing about where go and what to do next. Not the best haunt for the asking price ! First and last time for this family

Stacy Lannon

Not a nice place. Dirty a dead rat in the middle of the main trail. Not worth the money would not go back unless they really change things.

Olivia Jackson

This place is terrible...for the amount of money you pay for a ticket, they should be ashamed of their appearance...cages falling apart, animals look ratty, the port-a-potties look/smell like they haven't been emptied in years. Office staff is aloof, NEVER return phone calls, seem to have NO computer/billing support, turn you away for event even if you are holding proof of purchase in hand (yup, not in their "system") ...DO NOT sign up for their "membership"...to cancel after a year, you have to write a letter...that they conveniently "lose" and continue to charge your card on file...I will NEVER return to this dump.

Tonjah Andrews

I wish I could give less stars! We paid $69 for the Christmas Tree Spree and made a 3:00pm reservation. It was awful! Read all the disclaimers (*) everything is extra. Just because they have a 3:00pm reservation doesn’t mean anything will be available. The trees are spindly, and barely 6ft with the trunk. There are about ten or 15 animals to see. The tractor ride was not running at 3. The staff and animals look and act miserable. One staff member said “ it will be around soon or he is talking to someone at the house”.The other employee said they stopped running at 2. There was one “campfire” going near the gift shop. The s’mores and hot cocoa you have to buy in the gift shop, they were not prepared for you. I think they were “kits”. There was no one at the “North Pole” serving hot cocoa. We wasted $69 there. I talked to John Charmingfare on one of the staff members cell phones; he basically indicated it was our fault for coming at 3:00pm and referred to all the * on the website. He didn’t offer to do anything to rectify the horrible experience we had. This farm is all about money not an enjoyable family experience. We will not be back. We went and bought a beautiful over 8’ tree at Uncle Steve’s Christmas Trees 1371 Hooksett Rd., Hooksett, NH for less money and a more enjoyable experience. If you do a reservation online make it for early in the day, bring your invoice number (they cannot look you up in the computer), bring boots you don’t mind getting muddy, and a sense of humor because it is a joke!

Nice little place to take the kids

My daughter & I had a great time!! We took multiple fun rides around the farm on a beautiful day. The entire staff was welcoming & friendly. We can't wait to go back.

Rachael Risdon

What a great experience for our family! Our two year old daughter loves the "zoo." All the events hosted are ran very well. The characters are so patient and kind - really allows my reluctant daughter to enjoy her day.

Bob Gauthier

It's not our first visit to the farm. It's always a pleasure when we go. The staff are always friendly. We did the Couples sleigh ride on Valentines and went on the group wagon ride this year. Both were great!!

Jennifer Sullivan

We went for the sleigh ride and had a wonderful time! Great event for kids! We will return for other events with our son!

Konrad Demers

Greatest farm/zoo in all of new England

fun times

Shae Littlefield

My whole family enjoys Charmingfare Farm. We have a annual membership and go often to feed the friendly goats!

Holly Dimambro

Don’t go. It is an epic waste of money. They advertised a corn maze that didn’t exist. Still charged full price and had terrible customer service when I asked why they didn’t tell people about the missing attractions before they spent a ton of money to get in. Deceitful and rude.

Ashley Nadeau

We have been here multiple times for both the special holiday events as well as an everyday regular visit. My son absolutely LOVES it here and can spend hours! The membership that they offer is an incredible deal if you go often like we do. I'm so glad we found this place!

Annette Hughes

We had a lovely morning at the Farm--starting with a warm up in the shop with tasty samplings before checking in for our hayride. Two gorgeous Percherons took us out past sheep, goats and cows to the sugaring shack. We loved the explanation of how maple syrup is made and the q&a was lively and informative. We then had a delicious pancake and coffee/hot chocolate by a roaring fire. After the ride back we walked back to visit the animals--lovely. Everyone on the staff was so friendly and helpful--added up to a great experience.

Linda Poirier

Had a wonderful time at Santa's Big Party on Sunday, December 13 with our son, daughter-in-law and two grandsons - Cole is 3-1/2 and Chase is almost two. They loved everything about it (except the long wait for the wagon ride to Santa's Big Party!) - they especially loved interacting with all of the characters at the Party - Santa himself, Rudolf, the Grinch, Christmas Mouse, a Chipmunk, and a Polar Bear. They weren't too interested in the bonfire or the some mores, which I thought was pretty funny. They also liked visiting with and feeding the animals both before and after the party. We got a special discount on the noon time slot which was great!

James Stark

I took my family to Charmingfare Farm for the maple syrup tour/tasting - and it was definitely charming! Our 3 year old loved the sleigh ride and the pancakes and we enjoyed watching him smile the entire time. It was also nice to get a "thank you" from the farm after our visit, always a nice touch. Looking forward to going back next year.

Ayeh Shams

Seeing beautiful wild animals locked in the tiniest cages for human entertainment should be the first reason you shouldn’t be coming here..aside from that the place isn’t worth the money. We did the “Santa’s Christmas Party” event and the website up sells so much and the experience was incredibly disappointing. Long waits (they are adamant about arriving 15 min before your departure time or you would miss the ride. Our tickets were for 12:30, we waited until 1 for the trailer to arrive), very minimal and cheap decorations few and far between the ride to the “North Pole” and once you get there is a whole other layer of sad - very small area, very sad looking reindeer, very little Christmas spirit. So if you’re looking to fufill your festive desires, I wouldn’t recommend coming here.

Nice place to spend a few hours.

Haylee Hoffman

The staff here are very friendly! And adding to that, the haunted hayride had the perfect amount of spooky for my friends and family! I seriously can't wait to see what they have yet to bring for the winter events! :) Def worth the money!!! 5 STAR!!!!!

Brandy Sanger

Friendly staff and very clean but very pricey for just seeing farm animals in a barn. Plus then you pay $4 for animal food

Craig t

Not only on the staff very polite but when you drive up you don't even know what to expect from this farm at night walking around it or writing on horse-drawn carts or tractor drawing cards the sheer magnitude of this place makes me want to go back for the morning just from what I've seen it appears to be a really beautiful Slice of New Hampshire the staff were very polite and put on a very good not super scary show for young kids definitely a lot of thought and hard work went into this and you get to see some incredible animals in their Stables and Barnes wish I could have seen the Wolves and the Bears but understandably don't want them under lights after all they're not performing animals they are beautiful animals definitely would go back for winter they definitely put a lot of work into all that I saw thank you again happy Halloween

Futurepres 2048

This place is ENFURIATING. The conditions they put these amazing and beautiful animals in are terrible. They are also over feeding their animals by having people constantly feed them. Just another desperate attempt to make more money. I saw another review that said it's not worth the money. Well I got a coupon and there for got in for free and I still agree with that comment. Please support these animals well being by boycotting this place.

Bob Zimmerman

I took my 15 month old daughter and we both had a great time. It is a fun place to spend the day. Thank you for the hospitality.

Paula Dunlavey

The wild animal section should be shut down for cruelty to animals. Small cages, animals that live in groups in the wild are living alone in small cages, animals biting the metal cage. Don't give them your money until they stop being cruel to their animals.

Megan Douglass

I have never written an online review, but I am so angered by treatment of "Charming" fare farm I feel compelled to tell my story. I purchased tickets to haunted harvest on couptopia weeks ago with the intention of going the weekend of opening. As it turned out, there were no bookings left for that weekend so I happily booked 10/21, talking the outing up to my child. I followed all directions for booking but did not receive a confirmation. Since it had been a few weeks since my booking, I could not recall the exact time slot of my booking and called the "farm" to confirm the time. I was told by part owner that there was no record of my booking and despite there still being available booking times for 10/21, he could not honor my ticket. He believed that I legitimately attempted to book but refused to believe "the computer" could make a mistake and in any case "the computer" dominates and he, as the owner, had no power to override it. He however invited me to purchase three more tickets. I strongly recommend that you do not spend your money at this not so charming entity.

Corinne W

Had a really nice time. My kids really enjoyed the animals and the pony rides. The hayride was really long and relaxing and the tractor ride was fun too. The goats were super fun and entertaining. We missed seeing the wolves this year and the other animals that were MIA. Thanks for a good time!

christine mcgurl

Great for kids and families! They got 25 of us onto the sleigh ride after a very short wait. The kids enjoyed themselves very much!

Laura Lepore

This place made me cry. The animals are kept in tiny and dirty cages. Some just sat in the back of their sheds, which were falling apart, and some were pacing back in forth. This is a sign of boredom and stress. There was even paths in the ground where you can see they pace all day long. Throwing animals in unhealthy conditions for people to spend their money and gawk at them is disgusting. Please don't spend your money here. Very depressing place.

Jeff Martin

I decided to add my own review of this place after finding out that they don't rate perticularly well. After reading the reviews others have left I could see many never visiting this place because of those reviews which I feel is wrong. I have gone to this farm many times over the past few years for just a visit or a special event and we have always had an amazing time. The farm is extremely easy to find your way around contrary to other reviews, though maybe to some that can't find their way out of a wet paper bag it's difficult. As most farms or zoo's it is a self guided tour however the pathways are marked well and are nicely maintained which having young kids and pushing a stroller makes life great. My kids love all the animals that they can pet especially the goat enclosure that you can freely go inside of. We also enjoy seeing the scarier animals like the mountain lion, bears, and wolf. I will say that seeing a lone wolf seems unnatural and hope they will add more in the future. I have seen their different rides and events grow over the last few years so if it's not quite what you were hoping for give it time and go back to see their improvements. I look forward to our next visit.

Ben Brayshaw

This was not worth the money this year. The corn maze is not “modified”... there isn’t one this year. They should be more transparent about this before you purchase. The farm is pretty and nice. We have done this before here, which is why we came back, but this was tremendously disappointing.

Andrea Zogopoulos

The wagon ride seats and train ride seats were all full of ice and snow. Everyone got wet and cold. Santa was dirty and looked like a homeless person. Very disappointed!

Laurie Seaholm

$84 for four people!! Waited in line to get on the horse drawn cart for over an hour (only 3 carts running on a nice Sunday afternoon. Staff all seemed very uninteresting in engaging with the public, they were all in street cloths. Rode in the cart for about 35 minutes, NOTHING at all to see, dropped us off to see "Santa", he was not even in a red outfit! The scenery was very drab, the Christmas lights were not even on! I kept thinking, it will get better around the next bend. NO, it did not! Do yourself a favor, head to Santa's Village if you are taking the kids to see Santa and the animals, this place was very disappointing! (and they overcharged my credit card!)

Melissa Welch

Took our 2 year old and he had a blast. Clean farm, very well kept. Lots to do and see

Rachel Smith Egbert

We had a wonderful time there for the children's trick or treat on the farm!

kozz kicks

Was hoping it had changed after not visiting for several years, but no. Everthing from entry price, to drinks and simple snacks are extremely overpriced. The grounds are not mowed well and you need to walk though tall grass to see the animals. Also, the animals enclosures were overgrown and some or the animals seemed stressed, by pacing and whining. Really not impressed and unfortunately, will not be returning. A very sad place to see.

Brienne Burbank

So expensive for a walk through and petting the animals. Plus the cost of the feed it was too much. I could have gone to a zoo for that much. Was really sad to see them separate the baby calf from its mom just to let it sit in a stall for people to look at. It looked so depressed, not like the baby calves who are with their mom and nursing still. Not too happy.

whiskers duvs

Overpriced..the animals were poorly taken care of.. overweight and over stressed.. enclosers poorly maintained..some animals appear to never leave their pens..chickens in an incubator that should not have been..overcrowded...poor ,poor,poor...my grandkids and I left in tears

Ryan Petrain

Great small farm with an animal petting area. Bought season tickets so I can take my son over the seasons.

Migs Mor

Very nice and relaxing

Heidi Lawless

My family and I love this farm and all of the great events they have!

carol spickler

wooden structures are in disrepair. There are a lot of splinters. There's too many goats in the enclosure. One goat look so pitifully skinny all thesbones were sticking out. the same goats are in the petting area from the opening bell till closing there's no respite for them. Two babies were trying to nurse but other goats that kept bumping into them.. Enclosures with wild animals are too small

Beautiful

Charmingfare Farm was on my bucket list of things to do Summer of 2014 and I did it. It was easy to find and such a beautiful day for horseback riding. Our 2 guides were both friendly and knowledgable about all the questions I had. The ride took us through the woods, past ponds and through the beautiful fields. I really enjoyed it. Can't say enough about the goats and the petting zoo. It was worth the trip. The owner contacted me and I share some photo's that I'd taken that day. He appreciate it and I appreciate talking to him about his beautiful land

Katie Bedard

We visit this farm several times every year!! The staff is wonderful, the atmosphere is great and it is such a great little family attraction close to home!! If you have not visited this farm yet, you are truly missing out!! Put it on your must do list!!

Emily Fortune

Had such a fun wagon ride out to see the maple sugar house! Very interesting tour and such yummy syrup!!

Leanne Howrd

the idea was awesome! the reality was not.... We could not seem to escape the smell of very strong urine throughout the entire place. Even though we went on a WINTER hay ride with most things covered with snow. The horses looked so bloated I thought they were all pregnant. The goats were lethargic. The paths we rode on in the wagon were unmaintained and dificult for the driver and horses to maeuver. I really wanted to enjoy the day with my family. Hopefully someon will rescue the animals from this place.

We had a great visit. Perfect event for a weekend day. Staff was friendly. Farm was clean. What a great visit with Santa. Great couple of hours spent with the kids seeing Santa, his friends, smores by the fire, and visiting with the animals. Highly recommend a visit.

Timothy Bosch

We went for the kids Trick or Treating and our children loved it. The general admission price is high for the experience, but if you purchase online or get another discounted rate it is adequate.

Laxmikant Deshpande

Price we pay for entrering the farm does not give value to your money. Kinds under under 5 year old will be charged as adult ($19.00), I think it is too much. It is good for young kids but not great, Tracor ride was OK, Zoo was not not maintained very well, Corn Maze was OK. In a nutshell, I would say you better off going to some nice fair for this kind of money than this farm.

Justine Felch

I work with adults with disabilities and a staff member and I decided to take 2 clients to Charmingfare farm to do something new. They were rude when I asked if they followed the Americans with disabilities act which allows staff to accompany the said adult with out a fee or a discounted fee. They told us if we wanted that then we should have asked in advance on their website. I asked where on the website that was done and he stated under the donations tab. Well I am sorry but when I see a tab for "donations" I think this is where they want us to "donate" to them..... Also we were told that the farm is handicap accessible ... Yeah right. For $17 a person we could not bring our clients into any of the indoor areas due to a big curb at all the entrances and exits for a basic wheel chair we can kind of lift it but for an electric wheel chair you can not. One of my clients couldn't even get up to the fences to actually see or reach out and touch the pet-able animals. And to push a wheel chair through their gravel roads and on the grass to some of the exhibits was very hard or impossible at some points. Now for the animals.... Those poor Lamas, Alpacas, and Goats their hoofs were so very overgrown it was horrible, the enclosures for the wild life were awful and so tiny. Our experience was awful I will never take anyone there again!

Maegan Miller

Booked a trip to visit the animals and take a horse trail ride through the woods for four people. We had an absolute blast! Our trail guide answered all of our questions and was very knowledgeable. Will definitely be back for some more fun soon!

Len MacQuarrie

I wanted to treat my wife to a nice fall foliage trail ride for her birthday. Charmingfare went above and beyond in their treatment of us. I have never been on a horse except for an instance as a kid when I fell off the other side, but they made sure that I was comfortable and not stressed at all. We will be going back without question!

Shelly Mattson

I brought my son and 3 grandsons, paid 19.00 each to get in.my kids were very excited about the birds of prey, imagine the disappointment when we got to a run down empty building, also saw at least 4 other empty buildings but do to their lack of information about 9 out of 10 of their animals we didn't know what we were missing out on.stepped on the porch of a building with grandson and so run down my foot went through the rotten wood. No hands on with the animals like at friendly farm in Dublin n.h. for 7 ea for a fantastic day.. I would have demanded our money back but they had another person from his own NH reptile farm putting on a show at their farm,he saved the day for us.if I had known I would have gone straight to the reptile farm.no shade or seats for the show and lots of poo to try to avoid sitting in for the show, farms fault not reptile people. If you have about an hour to kill and money to throw away then I say have a ball.

Raymond Guay

Total ripoff. Paid for what was supposedly a 2 hour evening of viewing Christmas lights via a Horse drawn buggy ride. Bought the tickets and were given absolutely no direction whatsoever where to go what to do etc. Had to ask other patrons to find out what to do next. They took our money and we were turned loose to just figure it out on our own. Finally found where the ride started and it lasted 20 minutes tops and was totally lame. Drive through your own neighborhood and look at lights and you'll be better off!!!

Rachael M

We go every year for the Easter egg hunt and the kids always have a blast! I love feeding animals, going on a carriage a tractor ride, and there are so many great photo opportunities in the Easter egg barn!

Roberta Smolinsky

My family started the tradition of the Lighted Winter Wonderland every December. We drove 1 hour 45 minutes to visit. We had a blast this past Saturday. The staff was incredibly kind and offered to take multiple family photos for me without me asking. Santa and all the other characters were amazing. The best part was being able to feed Santa's Reindeer and the horse drawn sleigh ride.

Cindy Bakios

This past weekend my party of 17 took the horse drawn wagon ride to see the Holiday lights! The staff was very courteous and made sure that we were all together on the same ride. The lights were beautiful. The 7 grandkids had an awesome time seeing the Grinch in the woods, meeting Santa and the other characters, toasting marshmallows by the fire, drinking hot cocoa, and petting & feeding the animals. They were having so much fun that no even noticed that it was only 20 degrees outside with hand warmers in their mittens! We would definitely do this again! It was a great way to spend and evening together as a family!

My husband and I took our 2 year old to the Trick or Treat, it was our 1st time at the Farm....It was absolutely a fabulous time!! It was definitely worth the money. We initially drove past it and didnt realize how big the farm was. Our son had such a blast trick or treating and also on the hayride. Even the animals were so friendly, My husband and I were "acting" like little kids also!!!

google Lopez

I was extremely disappointed with this place. It is nothing like it appears online...we spent over $100 and it was not worth it. We felt bad for the animals...the enclosures were WAY TO SMALL and the duck pond horrific! Its very unfortunate that a place that charges so much to get in is so poorly run. No real bathrooms, or a place to wash your hands after feeding the animals, that is important! I would NEVER RECOMMEND anyone, spend your money somewhere else. We were also offered a refund after the complaint and NEVER received it.

Kayla Boyer

Very disappointed in how they handled the pumpkin festival this year. It was cancelled only hours beforehand without any notice. So those who advanced paid (like myself) were out of the funds. I drove an hour to come down to what I thought would be a fun event only for the cold staff to say "sorry we aren't having this event but you can buy some farm food for $4 and tour the grounds. We aren't doing any refunds for the festival but you can come next weekend." Well that doesn't work for me as I have a prior commitment for next weekend which is why I booked THIS weekend. I've gone to this farm for all of their events over the years but I sadly I won't ever be visiting this farm again.
