Fun place to look at the animals and relax. Favourite was the deer and goats.
Expensive!!
Awesome
It was fun! The animals seemed well cared for and I enjoyed feeding them! Thanks for the memorable time!
Great staff. Animals all seem very well cared for. Reasonable prices and kid friendly :)
I love this place, it is fun for all types of family and friends. Is a great, and cheap place to go on a small little vacation on the outskirts of Cape. Plus, It is fairly cheap and you can stay there for two hours easily doing the things that they have to do. We fed the parakeets and they have a little goat petting zoo, and turtle races. It is actually super cool to see some nice things come to Cape Girardeau.
We visited the safari park today July 10,2019. We were very disappointed. While it was nice to walk through, there seemed to be animals that were neglected. We saw a bird with ( what looked like) a broken toe , a goat that was skin and bones and another goat in another part that had an overgrown hoof. As i said we visited so I'm not sure if they were being treated or what was going on. We will not travel the 1 1/2 hours again to see this place.
Loved to go see all the parakeets
Great for city kids like mine
Our girls had a wonderful time there..we definitely plan on going back.
This place is horrendous. Small, dirty enclosures. So sad. Critter Lane outside of Bonne Terre is a wonderful place to take your family to see animals.
Abgewrackt, alt ungepflegt. Aber gut für Kinder.
This place is absouletly terrible the animals have terrible living conditions that they are living in. The llamas and alpacas were matted and dirty no cages were clean. The goats have no shade even though it's hot as can be right now. The alligators had a small dog pin with NASTY water in it that was barely even enough for them to get it. I will NEVER go here again and will not support that kind of treatment to animals. Would give 0 stars if I could.
Really fun place to take kids and experience different animals, but I will never get the image of the seemingly depressed badger out my head. So, so sad. Maybe badgers don't belong in a cement and wire pen.
Had lots of fun. Wide variety of animals to see and feed. Only takes a couple of hours at the most.
Feeding the animals was fun. I did leave feeling sorry for the animals.
Fun place for children. Very informative about the animals. Cute gift shop, too.
Had a great time enjoyed the beautiful weather and the animals.
Great local place for children to interact with animals.
The parakeet room at Lazy L was one of the most memorable parts of my summer! Good cheap, family friendly fun!
This is a very cute place to take children. They have quite a bit of different animals for the kids to pet. I enjoyed feeding the deer the most. And I found out you can rent a miniature horse for like a birthday party or they can even turn it into a unicorn.... So cool
Fantastic place!!!!!
The animals weren't in an adequate environment, and didnt appear to be healthy. Having plenty of "attractions" has taken precedence over proper amount of animals per acre. The cages for the other animals were tiny and with concrete floors. If all you desire, as the consumer, is a place to see exotic animals, and you don't care about the aforementioned, this is the place for you.
Great place to take the kids. Lots of fun.
It's a cute little farm with unusual animals. It smells like a farm and looks like a farm. It's a very low key relaxing morning. Animal feed is available for purchase.
Enjoyed the animals at the zoo but what was displayed online was not what it was in person. The time didn't match the price.
The goats upfront kept escaping there enclosure, but that just made it seem more like a zoo.
Great place Debbie was excellent at telling us about the place. A very different experience. Much better than any regular zoo
My niece and nephew always have a good time when we come here with our family. They learn about and like feeding the animals. The Parakeets are their favorite because they come flying by sometimes they land on the feed stick others times they land on their hand, shoulder, or one time on one of their heads. It's an hour or so from where we are from but it is always fun to visit this little zoo.
It was nice for the overall price. Had different animals and was able to feed most.
Needs to shut down for animal cruelty
Concerned about space for animals
Love this place. Small and easy to get around but packed with adventure
It’s fun if you don’t mind enclosures being overcrowded and dirty. They say their proceeds go to conservation which is nice. I just wish it was bigger and nicer. If you’re on a budget and don’t want to drive all the way to Grants Farms might as well check it out.
It was misrepresented on website
I brought my 3 kids here and we all had a lot fun. Their favorite part was feeding the animals.
Nice place for the kids
It's a wonderful place to take kids. They just need better parking
no water for the animals it was 100 degrees at 2 pm .over priced. not worth the money we paid the little goats didnt have anything for shade and didnt have any water
Very friendly and educational for al ages.
Great place to take your grand kids, a lot of fun at a fair price. Great day!
A really neat place to take kids.
Love being there. Fun for little and big kids.
Fun. Not crowded and the staff is chill.
My sister and I took my girls last fall and had a great time!! The animals were well taken care of and the staff was extremely friendly. I made friends with Lucy, the Camel.
Awesome little petting zoo. We had such a threat family time here. Adults were like $9 and you could buy food bags and treats to feed the animals. Lots of animals to see. We had such a blast in the goat area. Deer zebra camels llama bunnies too. Definitely recommend. You only need one hour and you will have a blast I think we stayed 2 hours. They have picnic tables to sit and rest and bring a lunch...they did have snacks in the concession / souvenir area and water.
Lots of animals to look at and feed. We had a good time
The grandkids love all the animals but I must say that in my opinion, it's over crowded forcing some animals to lay in their own feces. Some of the cages and pens are unkept.
A good place to visit if you have an hour or two to kill. We think they are a little over priced for the amount of time you spend there.
Kid love this place
Hoh
Great family place
Loved it
Cute place to take the kids
Is just a petting zoo nothing special
Great place for adults and kids. Nice variety of animals.
We went to Lazy L Safari Park August 4th, 2012 with 5 children. We are a homeschool group and expected to have a good time looking at animals. We arrived early and was welcomed into the park. We purchased parakeet feed and went around the grounds. The children had a wonderful time. They enjoyed learning about all the different animals and pet many of them. One of the little donkeys followed the eldest child around and brayed whenever she walked away from him. She couldn't get over how adorable this little donkey was. Most of the animals are very accustomed to people and children. They are very friendly and curious about people. All of the cages were clean, well maintained, and safe. The parrots will say "hello" if you say "hello" to them. The parakeet jungle is a ton of fun. If you have feed sticks the little birds will land right on you. Most of the children liked this, though some were afraid of the tiny little things. I didn't expect them to be afraid so keep that in mind. The petting zoo is filled with cute little goats that you can feed with bags of feed supplied at the gift shop. The feed is only a dollar a bag. The kids love feeding the animals. My children fed some of the deer and the donkey too of course. Overall, they don't make parks like this anymore. If you have the chance to go and pass it up, it really is a crying shame. It's only 5 dollars to get in per person. You can not find many other venues that have such a diverse selection of animals, that costs 5 dollars per person.
Was fun for the kids
A fun family friendly place
I used to take my nieces and nephew here when they were younger. It was a nice, clean place. The employees were nice and there was a wide variety of animals. It's been several years since I've been and took my youngest niece last weekend. Overpriced. $32 for 2, mostly birds, mining thing was a joke, employees were rude, place was dirty, the only thing that was cool, was the parakeet cage. That's why it gets 2 stars I stead of one. For $32, I can fill up my car, drive to St Louis, spend the day at the Zoo and drive home. Which is what I will be doing from now on.
I felt bad for the animals inside the barn it seemed very dirty and messy with lots of junk
Nice place for all
Fantastic time, camels are crazy!!
There is a variety of animals... But most of them are in horrible enclosures. The little cow guy inside the barns halter was way to tight and starting to cut into his nose. I let the staff know. There is also a goat running around the large pen with a busted up leg. If you are looking for a Family friendly, Animal friendly petting zoo type place to spend the day and take the family, try Critter Lane north of Bonne Terre Mo.
I never usally leave reviews but felt like I needed to today... I have brought my kids to this park many times.. today I paid over 40 bucks to get in... usally the animals look well taken care of but today was hot and muddy. The animals inside the big red barn didn't have any water. I was only in the barn for about 15 min and was sweating. These poor critters were prolly just dying for a cool drink. I looked at every single watering pan in the goats and donkeys pin and every single one of them was dry and looked to be dry for a very long time.... as we walked out the barn there was animals that was standing in knee deep mud. There was also a pony laying in mud looking misarable. Thankfully the deer had a stream running thru their fenced in area. I was just really sad to see the animals in these conditions. If u charge that much then please use the money to take better care of the poor critters!!
Fun place especially for kids. I love feeding the birds and animals.
Had a good time. Price was reasonable. Didn't take long to walk thru so we went twice and missed some animals from the first walk thru. Took our time 2nd go around.
Lots of animals to see. Barn was a bit crowded and one of the camels but my daughter.
Good place to spend an hour or 2 with kids.
Fun little place to go if you like wild life
We had so much fun
Total waste of money and time. Animals are caged and nasty. Only seen one employee at time to pay and then she disappeared. We left 15 minutes after arriving.
Great place for kids, friendly staff, very affordable
Absolutely had a blast best family day we had had in a long time
I took my grandchildren and we had a blast! I especially liked feeding the parakeets.
All the animals are super cute and friendly, especially if you have food lol.
Lots of fun.
THIS WAS AMAZING!!!!!! The staff is very nice and the animals are super sweet and gentile. Prices are more than reasonable so is a great place to take the family for a bit.
Fun fun
Kids love it! good time
Always a great time!
Loved holding the baby kangaroo!
Was supposed have camel and pony rides they informed us after we paid and walked through looking for them they weren't doing them at this time it was my 3 year olds birthday and we had promised her a ride on a pony
The kids liked it, although they were bummed that they couldn't get into the petting zoo only between the 2 doors. It's also a little pricey for what they offer.
Kids had a great time playing with the goats and seeing all the animals
Small but nice agri-petting zoo environment. Loved the walk thru interactive bird cage.
Fantastic place!
Smells terrible, also feel like the animals could be a little better taken care of. We accidentally let the goats out of the gate and the man kicked them back in.
Friendly place. Easy for kids to interact with animalse
School trip! Loads of fun...granddaughter loved it. The camel sneezed snot all over me...thought the kids would never stop laughing
A little pricey but I'm sure the need it to take good care of the animals. My granddaughter and my kids really enjoyed our trip. I'm sure we'll be back.
The staff are friendly, but they have gone downhill from the last time we visited a few years ago. Admission seems pretty high for what little they offer. We weren't able to go into the petting area with the pygmy goats, the deer were in the area around the caged animals so the kids could barely see them through the deer begging for food. The parakeets had feeders full of food and therefore didn't care for the food sticks. So that was a waste of money. Just not all that impressed this time around, which makes me sad, because it has a ton of potential.
A wonderful place to spend the day enjoying animals and nature with the family.
Had a great time, and it's definitely a kid friendly experience. However, my one complaint is the condition that some of the animals are in. The animals in the front by the driveway are over exposed to the sun and don't have enough water.
Poor animal not much there
I stayed here for 30-40 minutes and it was really fun! You can feed most of the animals and there are a lot!
Its was nice and my kids loved it.
We had so much fun. The camels and parakeets were the kids' favorite.
It could have been better, but they had things blocked off and its getting over crowded with animals, you would think with the business they get they could start updating. But my kids enjoyed it.
We always enjoy coming here! We especially enjoy the parakeet cage and feeding them and the other animals as well. There was a very cute little newborn kid that we really enjoyed too.
Affordable, fun for all ages.
My grandson and I absolutely loved this place!!! Great job to a all the animal keepers, your doing a great job, and we really enjoyed ourselves ❤
It was decent but I don't think it was worth $7 each. Even my 2 year old had to pay full price.
Pretty good mostly a petting zoo. Although the grandchildren enjoyed it.
Make sure the weather is nice before you go. Mostly outside. Bit very cool
Paarakeet enclosure is the best. The birds will land right on you or your kids! Good variety of animals and almost all can be pet!
The comfort of the animals is questionable. Over crowding, not enough shade, and lack of fresh cold water. Habitat's were lacking. Animals had bare minimum. Not worth $7. Dirty and heartbreaking.
I was good a there were a verity of animals at leats cuz their were animals a - z
Good place to take the young ones they have a great little petting zoo
great for kids. About an hour to hour and a half to walk through.
My kids love it
Fantastic place to bring the kids and get a unique experience.
Today was my first time visiting Lazy L safari in two years of living in Jackson, MO. I’m a huge animal lover and had family in town so we figured it’d be a good place to visit. Wrong. I was appalled at the conditions of the animals in the barn. Never in my life have I been to a petting zoo or animal attraction with such poor living conditions for their animals. The parrots and the llamas probably were the worst. The cages had mold in the bottom, looked as if they hadn’t been cleaned in months, the birds also had sores on their necks from pecking each other due to too small an enclosure for that size parrots. Goats in the barn, had horns growing into their faces causing sores and hair loss. Llamas paddocks were wet and not clean at all. Their fur was matted and wet looking as well. My family is very animal friendly and photographed the wounds, filth and small paddocks. The alligators had a small pool of water in a concrete dog cage. If your going to have exotic animals or any animals for that matter, make sure their living conditions are close to their habitat and clean. It’s in humane and wrong to own animals and allow them to live like that because their “just animals” and make you money. My photos will be posted online and I hope I can find someone to help these animals and get them the care they need. If anything comes from this review I hope it’s that. My little sister went to a worker their and asked why the birds cages were so nasty and moldy. The worker told her the birds came with those cages and they weren’t there’s so basically not their fault. She didn’t act concerned or like she really cared. It was just another complaint from an annoying customer to her. Take this review and DO GO to this safari and look for yourself. As much as I don’t want money to go to their pockets the public needs to be more aware of the conditions these animals are living in to “entertain” the public. They don’t deserve a star at all. They deserve the chance to clean it up or close down and give those animals to facilities that will and can properly care for them.
Fun place to go
Fun small park where the kiddos can pet and feed!
Very friendly, great atmosphere, love the animals. Was not over crowded had lots of fun.
Reminded me of a small scale rundown Grant's Farm without the free beer. No restroom, only port-a-potty.
Really great place to take your kids or grandkids but there is a goat that's hooves are so long he cant hardly walk he is so skinny and 1 of his hooves is broken so bad in the quick he cant hardly stand on it.and the red kangaroo looked sick and his hind end looked as if its turning inside out.and you can smell pot really bad.
this place is awesome for kids an family members of all ages. the price is very reasonable you can stay as long as you like theres plenty to see an do with the animals theres even a play ground area for children an also there is a covered picnic table area for drinks an snacks they even offer pony and camel ride nice friendly family enviroment. well worth your money time an travel there
I took my family here we were excited to visit.Arrived and was very disappointed i couldnt stand the sight of those animals in the hot heat with little shade around looked like a redneck set up with a trailer sitting in the middle of the park and the rust on the kids play equipment was scary i wouldnt let my kid go play on it we left sorry this place is sad
Nice people & fun animals.
So much fun, my kids loved the baby goats and llamas
Great place to spend the day with the family
Horrible conditions for such animals. I have been to plenty of safaris and this place is so cruel to their animals. Not many have any kind of room to roam. And thw one that do are pretty much ignored by staff. They seem like they are starving.
Sad conditions for beautiful animals.
Had a great time
Fun for all who like animals
A variety of activities Gem mining was a fun time for everyone.
Great place for the kids
Great place to spend some wonderful family time.
Good place for kids
Kids loved it
Kids loved it
They had plenty of animals crammed into small cages
Amazing
This is a great little place to take the kids and get up close and personal with the animals and very inexpensive also
Fun little getaway right by Jackson and Cape Girardeau.
Nice little place to bring the kids. The feed the parakeets thibg was cool. Go into a little area with seed on a stick and they fly onto the stick to eat the seed. Pretty cool.
It was fun for my family and very friendly staff. I would definitely recommend this place for a family outing.
Was fun for our son who was 6 months old but it's pretty dirty.. different from the way you think a zoo would be.. not much order.. the staff was friendly but overall really wanted to call animal control the whole time I was there.. it was kind of sad honestly.
Great family time, one of the best places to take kids and animal lovers to visit. They have a gift shop with drinks, snacks, ice cream and more. You can purchase bags of feed for the goats and deer. And sticks of Bird seed for the bird cage. We are regulars after our 1st visit. Highly recommend if in the cape area.
Great place for kids and adults. Love all the interaction with the animals
Went to see this petting zoo for the first time today and was highly disappointed w/ the appearance of the place and the treatment and care of the animals. Cages were filthy including rust and mold, and a lot of the animal enclosures were very small for how many they keep in them. Inside the barn were a lot of big birds kept in crammed cages that looked as though they hadn’t been cleaned in months. Saw a bird that had a raw and injured neck (I’m guessing from the other bird it shared the cage w/) and a goat w/ horns that were growing into its neck and causing a bleeding wound. Would not recommend paying to visit this petting zoo at all.
I really enjoy this place. Fun for the kids
