REVIEWS OF Dickerson Park Zoo IN Missouri

Justin G

Fair price for the park and all you get to see. With map and markers it was easy to navigate the whole park and see everything there is to offer. They have options for wheelchairs and strollers if needed too. The places where you can interact with some animals, (Giraffes, goats and llamas) were the most exciting. Otherwise most animals were passive/sleeping. If you have kids, and want to burn 1-2 hours, worth it. My girl loved seeing all the animals in person.

M.A. Butzler

Staff was very knowledgeable! Animals very well maintained! Grounds well maintained! My girlfriend and I loved feeding some of the animals!

Bubbles Jones

Loved the zoo in February! Much more going on there than we anticipated this time of year! I do wish the train rides and resteraunts were open though and also the farm animals

Xander Caplan

Nice staff. Very cool variety of animals to see, and nice souvenirs and good snacks while having fun. Only downside is the lack of instructions. It's somewhat easy to get lost.

Angie Kusturin

Always loved coming here since the early 80's and still visiting 40 years later.

Mary Brewer

Nice place to walk and look at the animals ,great for kids to learn about different spieces

Malone Wanders

Really nice. I do advise going on a bit cooler day but other than that it was pretty cool especially the giraffes.

Tim hamilton

Ive been to larger zoos...and some smaller...this place deserves a visit. Animals are well cared for considering the space that the occupy ( hippos could have had a bigger pool)...but over all...it took the right amount of time to walk through...kids that I saw during my visit were having a great time....I plan to visit this zoo any and everytime Im in the Springfield area..

joyce mcfarland

We enjoyed the zoo on a nice hot day. There was knowledgeable people through out the zoo with different animals explaining about them. We had our two grandsons which enjoyed being able to feed the giraffes and the petting the different animals.

Kimberly Runnels

We have always LOVED this zoo when we drive down to Branson to vacation... I love that after our 11 hour drive, we can usually catch the breakfast at the zoo. It's a little more on the expensive side over zoos up in Northwestern Wisconsin, but an amazing one none-the-less!!!

Fran Fry

Awesome place to visit. Has a wide variety of animals. Has a train ride through the park that's $2 a person, food places also.

Justin Ausmus

Great place to spend the day with the family. Large variety of animals and friendly staff. Also have great summer programs for children.

Linda Coker

We all had a great time. All animals were active .

Misty Mahan

Went to the Halloween event here , and it was a total nightmare . Started at 6. Took a hour to even get off the road into the actual gates to park . All to get in the gates, and have no where to park.

Tim Carpenter

This is an awesome place to take the grandkids or even a date. The staff are very friendly and offer their knowledge about the animals. It was unexpected and fun to hear why giraffes have a black tongue for example. The animals are well cared for and have plenty of room. Highly recommend this zoo!

Christina S

Loved being able to hand fed the gireffes!

Courtney Ernst

Had a blast with the family! Definitely recommend strollers for kids under 5. We have a special needs daughter so shortcuts were out of the question and our boys got tired quickly! Definitely lots to see, do, and learn!

Steven Gann

As always we have a great time with our granddaughter when we come here she is an animal lover

Amanda Lipscomb

Love taking the family here! Great place to spend the day :)

Sarah Gilpin

Haven't gone to the zoo in awhile but we loved it! Beautiful day for it.

Gothica 7

I love it here! The animals here are all beautiful and very funny to watch.

Kamaria Meyer

Staff is very friendly. Parking is free. $15 per adult. $10 per child. Babies are free. No smoking at all! Upclose with giraffes. Plenty of shaded spots and some benches throughout. There is one steep hill that would not be wheelchair friendly. Has a play area for kids by the cafe. A misting fan to cool off just outside the reptile exhibit. They did not have a gorilla or any other large breed monkey. They have lots of small ones. Soda and ice cream vending machines are convenient but sodas are $3, ice cream is about the same. The cafe prices are outrageous. Plan to eat ahead of time or wait till after. A burger, fries and med drink are $10.50. We took our time and made it through in about 4.5 hours.

Annmarie Vaccaro

After 3 months of living in the state, I needed to get my kids out and doing something outside of our small town. My younger daughter had been on a class trip so I thought she would love to go back. Great zoo, just wish we didn't go when it was so hot out. I did miss the sloth so I was disappointed about that but it was my own fault. Will definitely be back with the rest of the family when it gets cooler

Ryan Johnston

Could use a lot more animals but it is fun to go to if you're looking to get out of the house. Clean and pretty well kept.

Highly Suspects

Great place too spend time with your family

anette cassidy

Love feeding the Giraffes. I just wish that since we paid to get in, it shouldnt cost for things like the train ride. But Its still great, great views of the animals.

tim neff

Perfect time to go visit!! All the animals out enjoying the nice day

Linda Humphrey

I love this zoo!! It is clean, the staff are always friendly, and the animals look very healthy and well cared for. Aiden the mountain lion is my favorite!! Try the zoo encounters where you can see the animals up close and even feed some of them, they are so fun.

Karan Gaines

I love animals and I love to watch the monkeys.

Kellie Mateo

It's a must go visit very nice

Michael Lumby

Nice but small zoo. Including feeding the giraffes, riding the train and treats we can see it all in three to four hours! !

heather kerr

Such a nice zoo. So clean, kid friendly. Staff was very informative made our visit! Got to see the hippos that were on loan and we love slothes.

JESSICA BOULWARE

I always have such a great time here!!!! I really like the way they have everything set up!! I would choose this zoo out of any zoo in Missouri

Ross Coleman

Dickerson Park Zoo had many of the animals of a big city zoo, but without the crowds. We and our 4 year old son love it!

Thomas Bennett

My favorite zoo of all. Great for kids too and several spots to get in the shade which is handy when it's hot and sunny. My family and I have gone many times now. I highly recommend this zoo.

Cyndie Green

A nice little zoo with a surprising assortment of animals considering the size of the community. Well done, Springfield!

Jonathan Morgan

The ONLY problem with the zoo is the don't tell you until it's too late that the giraffee feeding takes cash only. Other than that, several hours of fun!

Anastasia Kohl

Was a pleasant experience. My husband loves the giraffes

Kayla Mitchell

Our school went on a field trip here. It was raining and a little cold. Overall we had a good time but it's hard to enjoy a place when you've got 20 whiny kids with you.

Amanda Robertson

This zoo was amazing! You could even feed the animals which was so cool! Love their art work too!

Jerry Davis

Very nice Zoo, not as big as St Louis Zoo but does have a lot of Animals. Laid out in a very natural setting. Easy to find

Lucinda Thomas

Thus is a very nice zoo. Well marked trails. It would make a great family day trip if you are in the area. The parking lot is easy to get in and out of and the animal enclosures are done well to be able to see. The zoo personnel were great!

Joan Gore

We had a wonderful visit. It is a little hilly so it was difficult with the wheelchair and I definitely wouldn't have been able to get around by myself.

Justin G

Aleksandr P.

Great place to visit and bring the kids along. Worth the money to get an annual zoo package and get your money worth!

Bill Loescher

Was a great night with the family. Make sure that you plan a full day here to catch it all. If you want to eat, plan on spending 12 - 15 dollars each.

Bryan Macon

Great place for the family to relax abd enjoy the exhibits

Brandi Cook

Cute zoo and lots of shade and interaction with animals. The playground is good size, both within and outside the zoo. The giraffe feeding is awesome!! They are at your level on an elevated walkway. Ample benches and good variety of animals.

Ashley S

We went to Picnic in the Zoo and it was a great event. It's held after hours 5:30 - 8:30, special meetings with the animals and zookeepers. There were game stations all over the zoo, food trucks and silent auctions. Great items in the auction, especially from Wonders of Wildlife. Nice place to have fun for all ages. Stroller and handicap friendly. $5 entry for this special event and under 2 free.

Trayce Duffy

Very nice staff, the grandkids loved the animals, and loved feeding the giraffes. I am a disabled person, and I would like to see more bench seating along the walking path.

Jennifer Brice

My 14-year old niece and I had a great time out there today! Erin and Bethany, two of the zookeepers, were very friendly and informative. There was a good variety of animals from all around the world. The zoo is kept clean, and the animals are well taken care of. The zookeepers here really have a love for their animals!

Idalys Santos

Its not really big, but nice. It has a decent variety of animals that are well taking care off. Really affordable price and clean

Jason Key

Small enough to see everything, but big enough to make you feel like you have walked a couple of miles!

Jesse Rhodenbaugh

Kids always love the zoo! Had a nice chat with one of the employees that made the whole trip worth it. They have some grade A staff.

Hailey Brand

The animals are very active, healthy, and happy. Every enclosure has a moving water source which is awesome and there are multiple viewing points for most enclosures so no matter where the animals are you can still see them and enjoy the experience.

Summer Storm

Had a lot of fun. Still early for many animals. The paths are hard on the feet if your wearing thin soles, wear good shoes.

Gordon Morgan

Great zoo, no elephants only negative, other than a little pricey.

Mr. Molecular Biology

It was vey educational trip for me. I saw an anaconda in a zoo for the first time in my life.

David Pentola

We always have a good time when we bring our granddaughter to Dickerson Park Zoo. It’s just the right size, and the close interactions you get with some of the animals is great for the kids... and the adults.

Allison Richardson

We were pleasantly surprised with the display of animals. An the variety of animals.

Faye

I went with my friend and our children and had a blast! The fact that we were able to feed the giraffes was definitely the best part! That part does close early, so make sure you make it there in time for that! I loved the fact that they had single and double strollers for rent for a decent price, and we were able to bring our own for no added fees. They also have free range peacocks which was neat to see!

KATRINA JEROR

Was an awesome experience for me and my 2 year old in her birthday!

Jennifer Foster

Nice little park. Right off the interstate. Pavillion with lots of picnic tables. And they had a peacock roaming free!

Diane Dodd

So much fun, great small zoo. Loved feeding the giraffe's

TommasTheTank

Had a great time with my girls. Place was very clean. Most of the animals were out and about. Just a great overall local zoo.

Edna Hopkins

The best Zoo we have been to, would recommend it.

Happy Hovves N' More Farms And More

All the animals were healthy and clean. The habitats were fun to watch and the wolves and otters put on a show. The baby giraffe was cute too. As a goat breeder, their petting zoo was also in good shape. The only thing I would change is to allow the goats to have all access to hay. Overall, I enjoyed the experience.

Rebecca Keepper

Dickerson park zoo, has improved over time. Always a nice place to take those you love. The exibits at Dickerson zoo are really good for the area. They always have special events coming up.

David Wilhite

My family love's this zoo! It's a great place to bring family and friends, this zoo has so many different kinds of animals! Check it out for yourself you won't be disappointed!

Brandon Kopecky

A Great place to go with Friends for The Arc of The Ozarks last Saturday Adult Recreation until the Fall of 2019! Also,Thank You for being Great Staff Margaret!

Brandi Cook

Cute zoo and lots of shade and interaction with animals. The playground is good size, both within and outside the zoo. The giraffe feeding is awesome!! They are at your level on an elevated walkway. Ample benches and good variety of animals.

Tawna' Moit

Wonderful zoo! Took about 2 hours & is really easy to Get through!

Kandis Neumeier

Small but clean. Lots of variety. There is not a too bad of a smell inside enclosures. When the weather os too hot or cold you dont see much. Middle of the day on beautiful days is most worth it. Water fountains hardly ever on and that sucks.

Ashley S

Amy Hall

We love this place! Our son proposed to his girlfriend here 2 years ago! It's such a fun place to make memories!

Kelli Manley

It has improved from 2 yrs ago. Much nicer. Good elephant show. Petting zoo is nice. Flamingos are awesome. I got to feed a giraffe! Fun day.

Ashley thomas

It was alright spent about an hour there compared to other zoos we would be there for atleast 3 hours. I barely saw any workers in the back of the zoo. But the tiger was really cool. Wish there was more inside exhibits like other big zoos. It’d be good if you lived in Springfield but we travelled from Joplin

Julia Atwell

It was like going back to when I was a kid. I loved it. The school kids were great!!!!! I loved this zoo.

Kevin Baker

If you are there when they open..... You may not see some of the animals. Several dont get turned out for viewing until 10am or later. Still not a bad place for $13. We'll go again.

Grace Fuchs

We got a military discount year pass. I think it was $45 for my 4 year old and I. My one year old is free. In a year membership you get guest passes and coupons. Pay a little extra and get a train pass added on. They have lots of benches to rest and nurse on. The best family bathroom is by the zebra area. Its roomy enough to fit a double stroller. Easy fountain to fill up water bottles with right next to it. My kids love the playground next to the restaurant.

Sandra Spence

One of the very best parks for kids and adults too! The park needs funding so if you'd like to contribute get hopping!

Kelly Nygard

Its a nice little zoo. They have a good variety of animals and it feels like a park...the grounds are very pretty.

Jennifer Snider

Had so much fun! My only wish is that they kept their concession stand open longer to accommodate an event from Expedia!

Destiny Frizell-Smith

Definitely a great place to bring your kiddos. I've been bringing mine since they were 2. They are 5 now. They have the greatest time, every time. We can usually get in and out in about 2-2 1/2 hours. Depending on how busy they are.

Aiden Kelleher

Such a nice zoo and perfect for families with small children. Everything is very stroller friendly. The zoo is a nice size, large enough to easily spend a minimum of 2-3 hours in, but not so large that it would be difficult to see everything in one visit. In addition to all the animal exhibits, this zoo has a few features that make it very toddler friendly. One is a splash pad, which my 2 year old loved. A great way to cool off. Another feature is the train ride, which is several minutes long and features lots of chugs and choos and whistles. The zoo has a petting zoo part where you can hand feed very friendly goats and alpacas (but there is a barrier), and the animals were all very tolerant with my inquisitive 20 month old. Both my 1 year old and my 2 year old also hand fed the giraffes. If you eat here, they offer healthy side options like fruit cups and carrot sticks. Next to the cafe, there is a nice playground with a slide and things to climb (more appropriate for ages 3+ in my opinion).

Dylan Pullam

I LOVED this zoo! This is the first time I have ever gotten to feed a Giraffe! And the scenery was beautiful and well maintained. One of the main issues I have with some Zoo locations is how hard it is to find out where you need to go at any given location. This one was pretty easy to navigate and just have fun walking around and seeing the animals. Just avoid the food if you don't like a price hike, like most Zoo areas.

susan Hart

The Dickerson Park Zoo is a fun place to go! The animals are well cared for and the exhibits are very good. The train is fun! Food is good.

Tosha Ubina

Variety of animals. Animal interaction, such as feeding the giraffes and a petting zoo. Nice Walking trail throughout the Zoo. Everything labeled to tell you where to go to see your favorite animals. Even a concession stand. A lot of food and drink options as well a playground right by so you can eat while the kids play. Plenty of things to do for the whole family. The train ride is a family favorite!!

graham boucher

Nice place with more animals then I expected

Samantha Newell

My 2 year daughter loves it. The food prices are kinda high but I understand!!!!

Willard Ortiz

This is a great family activity with a wide range of animals including some that are native to this area of the country. There are reptiles, snakes, turtles, besides the usual elephant, hippos, tigers, lions and deer. Nice event for the day, can be tiring if you are older. Price is very fair.

Deborah Fischer

One of my favorite zoo's. Feed the giraffes and ride the train around monkey island. This zoo is just the right size and the animals are active. There is plenty of parking and restrooms

Garry DeLong

We have always supported the zoo and the way they try to serve the community and persevere animal diversity

jason moss

great family experience..only $15 for adults to get in...

Snax Trix

Rented out the pavilion for daughters 1st birthday party. Great facilities. Clean area. Swings and play equipment right next to pavilion as well as bathroom facilities. Super reasonable pricing.

Bruce Marlin

I love going to the zoo. I have a season pass and always take my granddaughter. She loves the petting zoo and loves feeding the giraffes. Nice place to visit.

Sarah Neidert

Love this place! Variety of animals and a relatively easy walk. Easy to see everything in one day.

Dawn Hoover

This zoo was so fun!!! Not so huge that you could barely walk til you were done! Very clean and we all thoroughly enjoyed it!!

Emily Thompson

I was actually pretty impressed with the variety of animals here. I like this zoo better than the Tulsa zoo. I just wish they had maybe a better selection of food for the humans. Like an actual restaurant or cafe or cafeteria to eat indoors. There's a little food place with outdoor seating which is fine. It was just so hot and the food was pretty expensive for being your standard fried food stuff. And you can't bring food in with you so you don't have any choice but to eat their food. There also seems to only be 2 total motorized scooters for disabled folks to use. We had called a day in advance to ask about wheelchairs and the person we spoke with said we could reserve one. When we got there, nobody had a clue what we were talking about and they said they are on first come first serve basis. Well my grandpa has Parkinson's and can't hardly walk without falling. So that was really awful of them. We found a traditional wheelchair, but it was so hard to push around the hills and curving pathways! If my husband hadn't been there, my elderly grandmother would have had to attempt to push my grandpa all over. They should do better to provide more accomodations to disabled folks. Two motorized scooters is not enough.

Crystal Woods

Many of the buildings were not labelled so you'll walk in not knowing what to expect. Wish they would do some creative building signage. I was surprised to see 2 very large snakes and several quite rare animals. The giraffe feeding is very expensive $4 for 3 little wafers the size of graham crackers but still unique allowing you to touch their noses or even give a gentle rub on the face. For a smaller city, this zoo is fairly nice. Lots of room to expand many habitats. Was impressed with many creative exhibits while others were too small. There are many opportunities to get great photos. I found the price $15/per adult quite high. Kansas City's zoo is half this price.

Fawn Warner-Rechkemmer

A great little zoo for spending the day with the family and getting an up-close look at the animal kingdom. My favorite are the river otters. If you stand by the viewing window at the top of their enclosure and jingle your car keys, they might come up and say hello! You should also definitely feed the giraffes.

Robyn Hurst

Love the zoo! Late August was the perfect time to go...school is back in, so not as crowded as it can be), & the day we picked was fairly breezy! They seem to have added a lot of fun features and art. Loved the visiting hippos. We actually saw almost every animal out due to the pleasant weather. Snacks are a bit pricey, but that is the norm at zoos.

Daniella Carlson

This zoo is small, but it's a great place to go for a day and walk around and enjoy the animals and spend time with family and/or friends.

Chandra Anderson

Brew in the Zoo was very underestimated by the staff. I will go again but expect that a lager crowd can be accomidated. Would like a larger scale for the price!

Jason Lopez

We had a great time. Some animals were not available to be seen cause of work that was happening, and cool weather. Also were not able to feed the carp. They had the hut over the lake blocked off too. Kids still had a blast though!

Isa Brito

Great zoo. Great Place to take the whole family.

Lindsay Routon

Small enough zoo that it's not so difficult for those with disabilities or even just lots of small children that aren't able to make the long journey around larger Missouri zoos. It was wonderful!

Taylor Page

For little old Springfield, this place is great! Membership fee is very reasonable and offers perks through other zoos they're affiliated with. There's a playground, petting zoo, can feed the giraffes, and they host all sorts of activities for kids as well.

John Weichmann

Animals appear well cared for. Easy layout of paths

Riley Petetson

Had a great day with the family. They fed Hugo the elephant some fruit and he did tricks. Kids had fun, only reason for the 4 star is because of the food prices, even with a membership they are expensive.

Sam Nichols

For such a small city, we have an excellent zoo. We have the season passes, and it's well worth it. The kids love coming here!

Chris Roberts

It's overpriced for what's there. When I can go to St Louis and get in to their world class zoo for free Dickerson is a disappointment. It seems as though exhibits are frequently closed for long periods or something is always being remodeled.

Brian Newton

Took the kids here and they loved it. The animal exhibits are well kept. Plenty of seats and shade to rest at.

Elizabeth Smith

We went for our daughters school field trip. She was so happy she got to feed the animals, seeing snakes but was really glad they were behind the glass, and we all really enjoyed the otters (they were playful) and the wolves we're also being playful at the viewing area. Sad to see how many animals needed to be rescued

Kevin Andrew

Great zoo to visit & reasonably priced Animals are alert and active. Animal enclosures are well kept. Recommend getting the feeding schedule in order to maximize the experience. Plan on spending at least 3 hours.

Ian Smith

We really enjoyed Dickerson Park Zoo yesterday. It had a lot of animals, as most zoos do. Lions, tigers, bears, snakes, frogs, tarantulas, giraffes, macaws, monkeys, etc. The zookeepers were very friendly and seemed excited about their jobs. We went on a Thursday so it wasn't too crowded. They have vending machines there. 15 dollars for adults and 10 dollar for children, free under 3. What was unique about Dickerson Park Zoo when compared to other zoos was that it is in Springfield, which is convenient as thats the area we live in.

Mariah Hood

The hippo exhibit needs some matience, the entire park does, but that was main concern. The boards are rotting where people can come and look at the hippos! Overall this was a great zoo however, and I encourage anybody to please come and enjoy what they have to offer!

Emily Thompson

Barbara Weber

This is one of me and my wife's favorite places, to go BBQ, and see beautiful family outings!

Eric Sutton

We love our hometown zoo! Vast improvements have happened here since I was a child. Fewer animals, but well taken care of, which is good. We especially loved our tiger Rendez-zoo experience with Jackson the tiger keeper. The most recent visit we made was the zoo's Easter celebration, and most of the animals get a cool, different themed enrichment. Worth going to see!

T.K. Vaughn

The animals were just as happy to watch us as we were watching them. Just a shame it started raining, we enjoyed the time we had.

Arline Henderson

Nice zoo. We got to feed the Siamang, the lesser ape. Very Cool.

Taryn Michelle

Nice staff and cool animals! Would recommend the petting zoo and feeding giraffes!

Cade Marti

Enjoyed seeing the animals being active, get here early or when it's not too hot. The heat slows down the animals

Lisa McGeough

They have wheelchairs and there are alternative routes for them. Everything was clean. Restrooms clean animal enclosures glass was clean. They have a deck where you can walk up and pay $2 and feed the giraffes. They have a great petting zoo. They have a nice playground for children. They even have a place for the children to get wet. Had a wonderful time.

Dustin Ledden

This is a great zoo. Much better than i expected. Not so huge as the St Louis, but it makes a fun day trip. We got a family pass and have gone several times -kids are still loving it. Well kept areas and friendly staff. Our kids are 2-12

susie kinlock

Loved it! This was well worth the price. The animals had nice, big enclosures and seemed very well cared for. Paths were easy to follow. We did the zoo tour and had a very easy time finding the yellow arrows. Highly recommend!

Gene Adams

We think it's a very nice zoo, and we had a very enjoyable visit there.

Leslie edwards

It is a good zoo for its size wished the had a few more kinds of animals though

Crystal Woods

We took a group of parents and preschoolers to the zoo and had a really good time! The weather was nice and the animals were out. The kids really loved the petting zoo and the playground area

kar har

Fun fun fun! Great exercise too. Animals are well taken care of. We had a blast. Spent 3.5 hours there and saw everything. Train ride was kinda pointless though.

BobbyJoe Thomas

This is a great zoo. I've had an annual membership for the last few years. It's small enough to stroll through the entire zoo in about an hour. Even so, there are lots of exhibits in a variety of settings -- the scenery is always changing as you move through the zoo -- and is designed so you can't see too far ahead. There's always the mystic of wondering what's just around the corner. Of course, I've visited this zoo many many times and I already know what's around the next corner, but I like the fact that you can't see the next area until you're there. When you're in each area, it's almost as if that's the only area that exists. But, there's a pathway that leads up and around that corner and curiosity tugs at you to find out what's over there. A great feature of this zoo is that if you just keep making right-hand turns, you'll make the complete circuit of the zoo with very little backtracking. Another great feature of this zoo is the wide variety of walking surfaces, which makes it especially inviting for barefooters. And, yes, this is a barefoot friendly establishment. Don't like shoes? That's OK. You don't need them here.

Emily Barker

Friendly and fun atmosphere. Animals are well cared for and staff is very informative about the care given.

randy woodard

We absolutely loved this zoo!! Good price and easy to get around without missing any animals.

Fred Tomlinson

Dickerson Park Zoo is a great little zoo! The animals were very active and visible today. The grandkids had so much fun! The zoo is a very peaceful, clean and family oriented facility. There are several restrooms located throughout the park and plenty of benches and shady spots for little ones (and big ones) to stop and rest there legs

Stephanie Womack

Had fun seeing all the animals.

Aimee Wilson

I am from the St Louis area and grew up with an amazing zoo. I was kind of skeptical about going to Dickerson's Zoo but we were not disappointed!! The animals are so up close and personal, the peacocks wonder around in the open and are absolutely beautiful!!! The best part was feeding the giraffes!!! They are so beautiful and just as gentle and friendly!! I would highly recommend to anyone of any age!!

Shennen Stepp

My kids loved it. The snake and reptile exhibit was also well set up

Scott Sables

Well taken care of and the animals seemed very healthy with a good disposition. Creative well laid out natural beauty and the train ride was a fun experience.

Robin Wheatley

Really enjoyed taking my grandsons! So fun!

Matthew Whitworth

Great family fun for a reasonable price. Patrons can get a close-up look at these beautiful animals

Went to this zoo on a field trip. My students favorite part was the giraffes because they will come right up to you even if you don't have food. The shade was also very nice and the paths were easy to follow.

This is a very enjoyable zoo to visit, the animals appear to be healthy and well fed. Several seemed to be lacking water so I'm hoping they had alternate sources that we couldn't see. There were grade school kids cleaning the hippo pool! So pleased to see young people have the opportunity to learn about and help the animals, they were loving it! We were thrilled to see the monkeys caring for their babies and a baby ring tailed lemur playing just a couple feet from us. The zoo is well maintained with plenty of snack stops and restrooms and is very handicap friendly.

Had a great time, plenty animals to see, love the train ride

Lots of shade and relaxing atmosphere on the paths. My granddaughter loved the sprinklers. I would give it a 5 but it seemed expensive to pay $4 to feed the giraffes and $1 for approx.12 pieces of grain at the petting zoo. These expenses limit the interactions for many children and families. I was glad I was able to do it for my granddaughter, but i watched several parents have to turn their kids down.

This zoo is a great environment, a great size, is very clean, and has a great staff. We will be returning at least a few more times this summer.

Nice sized park...took about 2 1/2 hours to go through. The animals were well cared for and there is shade and snack options throughout zoo. Price is very reasonable at $15/adult. They accommodated my need for a motorized scooter in a very kind way. Cute little gift shop too. Very nice zoo!

Rebecca Cole

This is a great family activity with a wide range of animals including some that are native to this area of the country. There are reptiles, snakes, turtles, besides the usual elephant, hippos, tigers, lions and deer. Nice event for the day, can be tiring if you are older. Price is very fair.

Fun For young kids, not a whole lot to see for older kids, admission prices have increased :/

The zoo is a great place to bring kids. Its nice there. The animals seem happy and well taken care of. There is a petting area for the kids also. They also have motorized carts for people that find walking a little hard.

Amira Gerry

Took my three year old here for the first time since he was an infant. He had a blast, and we had a wonderful time.

Henry Simmons

We had a wonderful time! Perfect adventure for a 48 degree day! We had the zoo to ourselves. The animals were more active than I have witnessed at any zoo previously. I always visited during the napping hours apparently. Anyways, we got there in the morning and saw the majority of animals finishing up breakfast. The Lions were roaring the elephant was out and about. Really a cool zoo. We can't wait for spring to return and ride the train!!

Levi Falwell

It was a great place to have family time. And the staff was great.

Jennifer Hoban

It was a beautiful day!! We had such a wonderful time seeing all of the animals.

arthur wolken

Very nice place. I would recommend the family pass if you intend to go more than once

James Mathews

This was our family's first time visiting this zoo. We all really enjoyed it...

Susan Kelb

It would be nice if there was a Zoo sign at the exit off 44. Other than that, the zoo was easy to find. Most of the animals were asleep, but visible (hot day). We brought our granddaughter so it was nice that they had a way area by the snack bar and a water play area by the reptile house. All in all, a very good day.

Lesley Herrin

Took my family to this zoo for part of our summer vacation and we loved it! We started to run out of time so we really didn't take our time around the zebra and hippo area. Would LOVE to go back!

I love this zoo. The free roaming peacocks are super fun, and I love the petting zoo. It's a great way to spend an afternoon! For kids or adults just having a fun day out!

Robert Snook

Great place and offers classes for youth. My daughter loves going and learning about the animals and helping the staff clean the pens.

Joseph Vang

Fun place to take your kid(s) bring food/snacks

Samantha Trollinger

Great zoo overall, small enough that you can see all the animals during one visit, very interactive (you can even feed the giraffes), and the prices are amazing. Great way to spend a day. It is worth mentioning though that most of the activities (train ride, giraffe feeding, etc) end an hour before the zoo closes. Some of the animals are also put back in their enclosures as well. Other than that, this place is great.

Most recent visit was for the 2019 Picnic in the Park fundraiser for the Ozarks chapter of the AAZK. Love this zoo, been coming here literally my entire life, but after hours events are amazing experiences. Highly recommend no matter when you're able to go.

Jon Austin

Great day out with the family. We are family pass members and we still enjoy our time there. Great selection of animals to see, and the joy it brings to kids to be up close with a giraffe is great.

Michael Chapin

Our kids loved it. Doesn't take all day to view. Prices are decent for a small private zoo. My family recommend it!

Daniel Briggs

great place to take the kids for a fun day!!

Zach Hendrix

We had a great experience today at Dickerson Park Zoo! The weather was nice, and the animals were up and active. The park looks like it's in pretty good condition as well. I just really enjoyed the layout of the zoo and what it had to offer.

Carlos Rivera

Great zoo. A lot to see and do. Check out the reptile section is pretty good.

George Hoffman

Lee Hart and crew do a fantastic job making sure the animals are cared for, as are the habitats. The staff is educated, and more than happy to help. DPZ is a perfect family getaway that will leave you and your kids with memories each and every time you go. There are a lot of activities in Springfield but DPZ is a can't miss.

Samanthah Rogers

Horrible experience. Multiple reasons why we had a bad experience... 1-2 out of all the animals had water to play in on one of the hottest days we have had yet. The river otters had only a small amount of water to play in. If the reason for this was to clean then why in the world was this not done before it got over 100 degrees outside? The animals were panting so bad in almost every pen we saw. 2-The enclosures were small and not much for the animals to do. 3-the train that cost $2 a person went around a TINY pond that was so disgusting and slimy. Didn't even show any animals at all. This was by far the worst zoo I've ever been to and I make it a point to take my son to a new zoo 1-2 times a year. I honestly dont understand how they haven't been reported yet.

Jeremy Jones

The zoo was great. I went with my daughters kindergarten field trip. Even with the over cast day we had an awesome time. We could have used a little more time. I suggest allowing yourself about 3 full hours at least to fully enjoy all they have to do. The price is not too expensive and the workers were all very friendly. It is not quite as big of a zoo as some others I have been to but it still has a lot to offer. I would have liked to see some penguins and maybe some kind of show showing off a certain animal. I will be sure to bring my younger daughter next trip so she can enjoy it too!

Lisa Thompson

Such a lovely zoo. Lots to see.

Stephanie Red

I think the Dickerson Park Zoo is so much fun for adults and kids alike. It is a manageable size, and the animal habitats make it easy for everyone to get a great view. We all loved feeing the giraffes, and the petting zoo was a big hit, as well. Highly recommend for a trip to Springfield, and the whole zoo is easily managed in three hours or less.

Austin Presko

Great zoo. Smaller than some in bigger city's. But makes up.for it in quality.

Brian Hale

For the variety of animals they have it was very nice. Fun place to pass some time and spend time with family.

Beckie Peck

The staff there are so friendly and helpful. They actually went out of their way to help my handicapped uncle. It was so sweet. Definitely getting another pass next year.

Beth Blevins

Pretty decent zoo for a smaller one. Enjoyed the family day, and the animals. They do have food available in the park, for people and animals. Have several restrooms throughout the park. Great exercise added plus.

Regina E

It's a small but very pretty zoo with lots of gentle hills and lush greenery. I plan to return just to stroll around.

InnerVision

Great place to have right here in the city. Very affordable and well taken care of

Lydia Neeman

This place is so cool! It has a lot of animals you would typically see at a farm and a couple you wouldn't. It was a great experience!

Debbie Taylor

If you have a chance to go to Springfield, Mo. save a day for the zoo. It's not as big as the Okc, but many different animals. Really enjoyed the time spent there.

Billie Jean Brown

When I went here for kids it was great we had gotten free tickets to go and we held onto them for quite some time then finally used them. For a little zoo in a little place it's wonderful it's cute it's clean and very enjoyable for our children

Jane Culwell

OMG! LOVED IT!!!!Grandkids had fun and think so did the kids and husband also but yes plan on going back again and hopefully soon

extreme gaming

I had fun at the zoo. I would go back and see it again and the cool thing is that you can see the whole zoo in one day.
