First time here -- fun short stop. My kids love these animals and it was neat to see such a varied collection. We did get to touch a python! A little too expensive for a family of four, in my opinion. Slowly looking at everything only takes an hour. I did not expect it to be a bit run-down looking for what it is and QUITE hot in the summer (warmer than the 85° sun outside).
We had a great time learning about all the animals they have. Animals are easy to see and rhe turtles especially are fun to watch.
A incredible little find on the side of the Minnesota roadside
Really cool place
It doesn't look like much from the outside, but we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Cost was $9.95. The variety of reptiles and other things was amazing, and for any extra $5, you can be introduced up close and personal (even hold) your choice of reptiles.
As the Executive Director of the REACH Mentoring Program, I want to say how great the RAD Zoo was when we hired them for a community event we put on. Mr. Pastika, the owner, put on a show that was not only educational, but engaged the kids and had them participate throughout the show. All of the kids who wanted to touch some of the reptiles after the show had an opportunity to. Some even had the opportunity to hold Sunbeam (the Albino Burmese Python) while the parents took pictures. We will definitely have them come back next year.
Amazing animals combined with a really nice staff makes RaD Zoo one of my favorite places to be!
They had a large amount of reptiles but wish my child could have been hands on with some of them
Very family friendly
Bit expensive but nice collection of critters
Nice little place to visit! Cool reptiles and staff was nice and informative. Wish it was a little bigger cuz it was fun but only takes an hour or so and you see it all.
This place was cool to check out. Lots of different reptiles and amphibians. Could be a little cleaner for both the animals and humans walking through.
Well curated private collection of reptiles and amphibians. Worth stopping!
It was a really cool place.
We had them come home for our 5 year old birthday party and it was amazing. The kids were super excited and they got to learn about some animals they may not have read about before and python was a total hit among kids.,. They loved him. We had this in our basement area.... which was plenty to accommodate 20 lil 5 year old and the presenter
This place has a lot to look at and the show was interesting for my 7 and 4 year old. The staff were really nice and great with kids. Definitely recommend this attraction if you're traveling through Our.
Affordable. Great little indoor zoo to take the kids to. Gets a little warm in there during the summer months. Neat place to visit and check out though!
Animal mistreatment is common
It was pretty cool. Had a lot of local and non local animals. The cage sizes are pretty good for each reptile.
Great place to take energy filled Grandkids
Awesome place for young kids. Lots of animals to see
My kids had fun an liked all the animals
Loved it and so did my kids..
My husband and I wanted to take our 3 year old son to somewhere he could see reptiles. Hes really into dinosaurs right now but we wanted to take him somewhere close to home that wouldn't cost to much to go where he could walk around and enjoy a variety. We found this place. And we were amazed by the variety of reptiles and amphibians. Our son even got to touch and pet a smaller alligator and he loved it. Great place for the whole family to go and spend time togehter. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff about the different creatures they take care of or have rescued. Definitely will visit again. Plus its indoors so you can go anytime of the year.
This is a place that you can learn a lot about reptiles
Awesome place, awesome things to see. And you can hold an alligator or a Burmese python! Go there
Amazing, will definitely go again!
Lots to see
Cool place, lots to look at.
It was awesome! So many cool exotics! I would 10/10 recommend! I was expecting it to be a exotic pet store type but it had way more! The animals I'm assuming were rescued and had a pretty decent setup. The staff was knowledgable and friendly! Totally worth the price!
We visited at one of the feeding time. It was quite entertaining! Many snakes, lizards, tortoises and more. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Wanna definitely visit again.
Went there with mom and sister, huge assortment of animals there, amazing place really, was able to touch a snake, the director was a bit busy with the cages but that's fine, gotta take care of those animals. Definitely would go back, maybe on a Sunday to see them feed. Just a bit humid for me but that's nothing to dock a star for.
Good place if you need to stretch your legs during a long drive. Lots of interesting animals. Building is pretty dingy, but if you look past that it is worth visiting.
As soon as we walked in the door the smells were terrible. Whole place needed a thorough cleaning. Probably has great programs for children to see and touch. We love these kinds of animals, but just couldn't stay.
Amazing staff and great experience! I'll keep coming back!
It was an OK experience, not the best.
Always a fun time,
The handlers and staff do their jobs, and the animals are interesting.
Fun
For a small place. They have a nice variety and lots of animals to see. My son and I enjoyed coming here and look forward to coming back
Simple fun outing, we didn't stay long enough to see the show, but everyone working was friendly and happy. Lots of neat animals my son had fun! My fav. Animal was the cockatoo behind the counter! :-)
Great display of animals friendly staff and very knowledgeable about the animals they have
Went today with my brother and his daughter . Impressive collection of amphibians. Good time..
Nice place see reptiles and few bird's
Awfully pricey for 2 adults—it was $20 for the two of us, my 1 1/2 year old was free. We spent MAYBE one hour there. It was extremely hot. I understand it’s to keep the reptiles warm, but it was almost unbearable. Not nearly as fun as we were expecting. Maybe if our son was older.
Fun for a day trip.
We had a blast like always here.So much fun looking at all the animals and touching a alligator and a snake! Thank you, it was a great family memory.
Very good experience! Lots of information and very interesting. Some very cool reptiles...
Fun and informative
Lots of cool reptiles, noligable staff.
Our second time here and we will visit again great family time
Daughter had fun, definitely run down.
We had a great time. Lots of cool critters to see & knowledgeable staff to tell you more about them. Though some of the cages seem rather small for the animals housed in them.
Many many interesting animals of all types.
A great place to stop. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the exhibits are amazing and they have a few critters that you can handle. Big Al is an amazing sight.
We hired the “zoo to you” and it was absolutely amazing! The staff was super kind and knowledgeable! Our whole party had a blast! And my 8 year old was so happy to have the coolest birthday party ever! Thank you all so much!
Very knowledgeable and patient staff! Even my little one had a blast.
Great place
Lots of reptiles especially snakes and turtles. Very fun for kids and about one hour of entertainment.
i took my grand kids here a few years ago and was quite impressed. Staff is friendly and reptiles get good care, although I did point out a couple needed fresh water. They have quite a variety of reptiles. Many if not most are rescues. The kids got to feed the tortoise and pet a snake. I plan to take them again next week.
Great experience they were super nice!
We had RAD Zoo come to do a birthday party for our son. It was awesome! The kids learned a lot, had hands on experiences and stayed interested during the demonstrations. Thumbs up!
Just wanted to add to the reviews after our experience. The RAD zoo came out for my kids birthday, and delivered everything as advertised and provided for a very fun, educational and interesting exhibit of the animals. The birthday kids got to hold some of the animals, and really made the birthday party one to remember. I would not hesitate to book them for your birthday parties and would highly recommend them!
Great place to bring your kids or a party of kids!
Not bad! Kids loved it, but heads up it is super warm inside (understandably but plan on it before ypu visit!).
I volunteered here for 3 weeks. Many complaints. An 8" mud turtle was kept in a 15 gallon tank. A 30lb snapping turtle was kept in a Rubbermaid tub, maybe 50-60 gallons at best. A 10-12 foot alligator, (maybe crocodile, its been a couple years, pretty sure it was an American alligator) had about 2-3 feet of water to "swim" in, and about 14x14 feet of space. All 3 of the animals mentioned above, notice how they barely had room to turn around? Disgusting and inhumane for captive animals. On my 3rd day of volunteering, I asked what I should do. The PAID guy 'training' me said, "do the same thing you did the last time." The thing I did last time was: walk around and spray lizards with a bottle of water, and clean 2 tanks. How is that supposed to fill 7 hours of volunteering? I would expect that you teach me how to do things YOUR way, or the zoo's way. Show me the daily routine. Introduce me to different reptiles. Educate me. Put me to work. I would give .2/5 stars if I could.
Sweet little zoo. Lots of tortoises, and other little critters. Kids dig it, as do I. Hit up when we visit the outlet mall, about once a year.
Great place to bring kids! Very friendly workers.
Cool place
I've been to several reptile zoos. My kiddo has enjoyed them for the most part. The Reptile & Amphibian Zoo is different mainly because of the people that run it! My daughter is 9 and she is pretty brave. She got to hold a python, I mean a huge python! She also got to hold an alligator too. The owners are genuinely knowledgeable and fantastic with kids, in fact one of their little girls was helping out too and she knows a fair amount as well! My daughter and I had a fantastic time. The building is old the displays are not state of the art but the experience was awesome! We will go again even with an hour and a half drive.
Such a cool place, they have all different Reptiles and Amphibians. Now they have a Dinosaur exhibit too!
Very warm on a hot day, but so cool to see all of the animals!
Great place to take curious little ones!
Surprisingly good lots of things to look at but they need bigger enclosures
Great selection of Reptiles and Amphibians. The little show was very informative and watching the feeding was a lot of fun. If you have a reptile lover in the family it is worth the drive down from the cities.
We live about 45 minutes away and we love going to this zoo we don't mind the drive the people and staff are so nice there and you can get so close to the animals it's a very unique experience. I think we will end up doing one of her birthday parties down there also at some point we had seen a party going on and it looked very fun. All of our kids look forward to different features and animals at the zoo.
They are helping many reptiles survive.
Interesting!
Awesome day with the family.Great show put on by staff.Highly recommend for family and friends get together. Thanks guys!
They have a ton of cool animals, would recommend this place to anyone
Cool place
No air conditioning or water fountains. Had a bathroom for men and women, but just one room each.
Small space, feel bad for the animals. Saw some turtles getting it on - that was weird.
We visited while staying at a hotel in town with a three and two year old. It was snowy and for the first half of our visit we were the only ones there. There were a lot of animals to see but overall I was surprised by how homemade/makeshift the feel of the zoo was. That we saw, there was only one staff member present. He collected our entrance fee, grabbed a coke from the refrigerator and then dissapeared. I think it would have been a very different experience if there would have been more staff members who were friendly and interactive. A good cleaning would help as well, especially the bathroom walls and overall cobweb presence.
Great experience. Very knowledgeable and patient staff. Could use a little more upkeep
Nice little place with about 100 animals on display. Get to touch turtles. There is also shows
It's sad the state of some of those poor animals. It hurt my heart to see the snapping turtle in a tank way too small for it to even turn around. Its ridiculous and they should be ashamed of themselves.
Fun place for the kids!
Neat little zoo has improved over the years but seems to be a little overpriced. my kids like it so we go about once a year.
What a great time my family had.
Worth a stop if you have kids that like reptiles. A little too expensive for families just driving through the area.
This is the greatest display of reptiles in the country, and half of the exhibits are rescue animals. They also have very informative lables for every exhibit.
Took over ten minutes for someone to come and help us so we didn't even bother.
OMG amazing
Alot of animals 20 for my daughter and I to be in there for 20 mins was alil spendy but she had fun and at least it goes to the animals
My husband and I stop here on our way to Minneapolis a couple times a year. The animals are cool and the staff is nice. Be sure to say hi to Foster when you come and go.
Awesome place, fantastic staff!! Make sure you stop by with the kids, even the ones with receding hair lines!
Appearance is deceiving. Excellent variety of animals in good care and nice shows and feedings.
Granddaughter loved it
Fun lots of Reptiles you can even get to let pet them
The place is worth the drive! I felt they gave a very interesting lecture with their animals and the animals seemed well cared for. Perhaps they could do with better signage re the animals under their care.
There really didn't seem to be enough room for any of the animals, especially the alligator snapping turtle, poor guy didn't have any more room than a foot or so to swim around. I hope the fix that. Also the prices seem a bit high... For such a lackluster experience. :/
Had something for everyone
Interesting, lots of snakes and turtles, with other reptiles
Awesome!
Great display of amphibians and Reptiles my daughter and myself had a great time. Would recommend to all.
It was great
Nice little indoor zoo. Good amount of reptiles. Including a huge alligator.
Great, friendly and knowledgeable zookeepers make this a hidden gem to take your school age kids to.
Very awesome and diverse collection. Definitely worth the admission. We were able to hold a python and my husband got the rare experience of holding an alligator. The lady there was very knowledgeable about the reptiles! If I'm ever up here again I will go back!
Great guys!
The staff was so friendly and informative. My grandson had a really good time!
Love this place, my kids love seeing all the reptiles, we can spend hours here
Nice sideshow attraction
We love this zoo. I highly recommend it. Great fun for the whole family.
Great place to take kids, they love being able to take pictures with some of the animals.
Very cool road side attraction, lots to see in such a small place.
