Quick the enjoyable small zoo, you could see everything and get out within an hour and a half or so or.... You could enjoy yourself and spend 2-3 hours. Either way, not an all day event like some zoos but you could make it one with the small amusement park for younger kids. Thoroughly enjoyable, wide range of animals that appeared well cared for. Knowledgeable staff.

Lots of walking for grandparents. We had different age kids. Some restrictions on who could ride which rides frustrated the kids. Overall everyone had a great time.

Fun spot! Very affordable this time of year and convenient food options too. Bring quarters if you want to feed the animals. Our toddler had a blast since there's so much interaction!

I has a wonderful day with my grandmother here. She was very excited to be allowed to pet the deer. This zoo is very clean, the staff has real knowledge of the animals on site. We enjoyed that the animals were active, however it was tain in the forecast so the butterflies were a little bit in hiding. 5 stars

Very nice place nearby especially if you have a lid who is less yhan 48 inches in height. Lot of kids ride and not much crowded so kids dont have to wait for more time. Zoo is pretty average. White tiger is something special. Paddle boat activity and feeding animals were some of the really enjoyable activities out there. Zoo show is not that impressive.

Brought back so many memories from being a kid and coming here, especially getting to bring my own 2 daughters and my Daddy. Very special. A lot of cool animals. The kids loved it. There are not many staff walking around. In fact, I only saw a staff member at the gate and two at the butterfly pavilion. I had questions, but there was no one to hear them.

The animals looked sad and the habitats were not created for the animals. Many animals that belong in packs were in very small cages alone. They had 2 decent sized alligators in a very small space. The big cats were all overweight I am sure it is because of the lack of space to run. I had to fight the urge to cry several times. If you are looking for animals locked in cages this is the zoo for you

First, the parking is primitive. Second, pay attention to the height max and min. My 2 year old active niece could go on everything, not could not be accompanied by an adult. Tried to have my 9 year old son accompany her, but we were told since he exceeded the max by one inch, he could not go on rides with her. In addition to this, there were only 3 or 4 rides he could do. But those rides were not included on the wrist band, they had to be purchased as separate tokens (which was more money). Third, expect sub-par knowledge from zoo staff. At times I wS concerned for the parrots who did not seem to have adequate food or water. Did not buy food there. So basically traveled from massachusetts to maine for a frustrating zoo experience that was unfair for my son who wanted to use rides but couldnt, for my neice who wanted to go on rides but couldnt. Did not use restrooms. Would not go back.

Outside of being a bit rundown, the enclousures are far too small for the animals inside. I was shocked to see how small they were. I went to York as a child and had such fond memories of how fun it was but it has not aged well. As an adult, that which seemed larger than life, now looks like crammed shoe boxes. Extremely disappointing and very concerned about the welfare of the animals inside. Some can handle the smaller encloursures alright, but most of them need so much more space.

We did not go into the zoo. But they had free parking for both the amusement area and zoo. The amusememt area is good for small children. Most of the staff was friendly. Others looked miserable and didn't want to be there. (It was hot out so maybe that played a part). Ticket prices weren't too bad. You can get a bracelet for all day for $23 I believe.

We opted to only go through the zoo part of the park and skip the amusements. As far as the zoo area was concerned the enclosures were very nice and maintained. Lots to see. The sloth was awesome. Loved seeing the kangaroos. The lion and tigers weren't visible. Souvenir shops were well maintained and stocked. The food was a bit overpriced so we waited to eat. The bathroom's weren't very well maintained. No paper towels, garbage on the floor and smelled horrid. Parking was free always a plus. Overall a fun experience!

York's Wild Kingdom should get four stars for the value alone. Very affordable family destination and they offer a generous military discount. The zoo is well maintained and has some good variety. The free paddle boat rides are pleasant. The camel and pony rides are extra, but are a good value if the kids are excited to try it. Food on site is low to moderately priced. The amusement park is dated, but kids don't notice or care and still have a great time (bumper cars are my favorite and you can see the beach from the top of the Ferris wheel). You can see the zoo complete within 2-3 hrs and do every amusement park ride within 2 hrs. Makes for a very fun and affordable family day.

We went on one one of the hottest days of the summer but still had fun. It was my husband's first time at a zoo so I wanted to bring him to one of my childhood favorites. You can find a feeder station almost anywhere and can get up close and personally with deer, goats, butterflies, ducks and riding animals. The staff was also amazing and kind. The only reason why I took off a star is becuase of the limited food/drink options inside the zoo portion during the day we went and the place seems pretty dated.

It's still a fun place for kids and one of the biggest zoos in New England. Though it hasn't aged well. The zoo looks virtually the same as I remember it as a kid. They could use a remodel. One thing to note; the bathroom was disgusting and had a strong smell of urine.

I think this place might be kept alive by nostalgia because it isn't a very good zoo or amusement park. It has a midway/traveling carnival feel from another era. An era that has come and gone for most other places. The location is good and offers something different from the beach, so that probably helps them stay in business. Definitely go there after you've had your fill of beaches and towns, though. Most of the amusement rides were run down and grimy. The staff were very nice, though. Age/height is a big deal. Half the rides are for over 48"; the other half are for under 48". This is kind of a PITA if you have kids that span that gap. A lack of competition in the "interesting stuff for kids" has inflated the price, but such is vacation life.

Nice park with many beautiful animals! The animals are generally rather close to the viewing areas so you can really enjoy watching them. There's also a really cool spot of the park where fallow deer can come right up to you and eat out of your hands!

My grandchildren really loved the rides because they were not you typical amusement park rides with all of the "flash and dash". They were reminiscent of the rides I enjoyed as a child myself. The flexibility of being able to ride whatever, whenever, and how many times for the price is phenomenal!!!

This place is AMAZING ❤❤ so so much fun and so worth it! I would suggest going during the week when it isn't as busy as the weekend but either way it is so worth it! The rides are geared toward younger kids (my boy is 4 and 43" height). He had a blast!! And so did I! We will definitely be going back

Such a wonderful zoo. Admission is good priced & comes with the paddle boat rides! Bring cash, a few food vendors were only doing cash when we went. Bathrooms were kept clean as well as the whole park. Great day to spend with family/friend's!

The zoo has an impressive variety of animals ranging from tortoise to tiger, knowledgeable and kind zookeepers/staff, and clean, well-maintained grounds. Not overwhelming in size, it’s perfect for about a relaxed three-hour trip. The rides weren’t open yet because our trip was on a weekday still in the pre-season, but they looked fun for children. I’d highly recommend!

Customer service at ticket counter is poor, people that qualify for military and veteran discounts, disabled veterans with disabilities are forced to go to a separate building and walk up a flight of stairs (keep in mind the disability factor) to verify military service just to come back down to the ticket counter building to get access to the park. The park is sub par but is good for the kids.

The zoo is so much nicer than the amusement park. It's a smaller zoo, but enough to keep the kids busy and in the outdoors for at least a few hours. Bring quarters for duck, goat, and deer food.

After looking at reviews my family and u were not going to go but after deciding to go anyways I'm glad we did it's a very nice place. The animals looked healthy and the staff was very nice. The place does need some TLC but it is very clean and spaced out nicely. They have something for everybody there. I personally liked the deer petting area and the ducks. They eat right out of your hand. I will definitely recommend this place and look forward to going back.

Probably good for kids because of the rides. As someone who's been to a lot of zoos this one was a little underwhelming. Not as many animals as I'm used to. The lion and tigers were cool. I wouldn't go back, but I'm sure it's a great place for kids.

This zoo is in a forest of Cape Neddick in the town of York in York County, Maine. Great for children excursions, family picnic, or just an outdoor fun close to nature. The animals are a beauty of their own species and are well fed and looked after by their dedicated and friendly staff. The butterflies are short-lived for 20 days only and the timing for hatching is unique. Each butterflies presents their kaleidoscopic colors & beauty. There are plenty of rides, picnic areas, food boots and souvenir store. Best for summer outdoor activity.

I would have gave 5 stars but we had to walk over a mile just to get to the main parking area and 3 of the workers were rude and unfriendly.. the lady putting the kids on the Camel was the worst... if we ever went back and she was doing it my grandkids would not ride the Camel. The guy pulling the green thing behind his truck to give people rides to the entrance was yelling and screaming at the people waiting for a ride... last was a worker running one of the rides, she was yelling at the kids ... other than that it was an awesome experience... good food, rides and animals...

Fun and family friendly place. My children had an absolute blast getting to see the tigers, lion, and camel not to mention the rides. Most of the carnival games they have are still very much fun but most of them and the arcade they have (if there was one thing I didn't like) are very much out dated and worm down and worn thin. Aside from that, excellent place to go either for a couple hours or make and entire day trip out of it! It was my 5 year olds first time going and he says to me while we were leaving. "Dad, I wanna come back to this place."

Zoo is on the small side, saw everything within an bour. Also the exhibits are really small, can't help but feel bad for the animals. They all looked pretty miserable. Its basically a road side tourist attraction in it for the money and not animal well being. The food took forever but was decent and to be expected at the price point.

One of my favorite places to visit. The zoo is amazing and I've always loved the paddle boats. I recommend buying the zoo and rides pass to fully take in the whole experience. The employees are very sociable and knowledgeable about the animals they work with.

The animals are beautiful and very well taken care of. I love the way it's set up, the animals are living a pretty stress free life yet the visitors get to see each animal up close. The whole expect was much more interactive than many other zoos. I didn't go to the ride side, but based on the happy screams of terrified children it was fun. Overall the whole place had fun almost carnival like atmosphere. And make sure if you want to feed the animals you remember to bring quarters, and if you forget they are happy to exchange paper money for quarters when you buy a ticket.

I've gone several times with my kids when we need to pass the time but this zoo and amusement park needs desperately to be updated. Everything is getting very run down. The animal cages looks clean to me and there were several staff members tending to them which was positive. The staff was very friendly - even the folks tending to the rides. My kids had a great time. I just an amazed at how shabby everything looks. I hope someone spruces the pace up soon.

Listen it is what it is. It's $66 for all 3 of us to enter. (Animals and rides) The animals are interesting and the rides are old but our 6 year old had a blast. You park for free on the route 1 side, do the animals and amusements, then walk out the back into York beach and shop or eat without looking for parking. Child is happy. Parents are happy.

I loved coming here as a child, and then bringing my now 20yr old here as a child, and now my 9yr old! I worked here this summer as well and loved that side of it. Best and biggest friend dough ever! Nostalgic and fun. heavily geared towards younger kids, with options for older as well just not as much. Will be returning next year!

This is a fantastic place for children young and old to see and learn about animals from all over the world. The park it just the right size that you can see everything in just a couple of hours without feeling burned out. They offer a variety of opportunities to interact with and even feed some of the animals. The "amusement park" has rides for children ages 2 & up, as well as mini golf and several of the standard carnival games. All and all it is a great place to take the family for a day of fun and learning.

Smoking everywhere which idk how they get away with it in Maine. Kids place with 10 smoking areas. Smell of smoke very common. Rides say 48" my daughter was denied a ride then accepted at another so no uniform code to it. Employees look like they really don't want to be there based off there actions and responses. Animals also look sedated or unhappy especially the large ones. Restrooms are horrible. Ladies line took 20 minutes to go through. Not enough staff to keep the park tidy. I have gone twice now and would say it's a basic zoo for Maine with such a drive to find another one. This is the only reason I gave it 2 stars and not one.

Good inexpensive fun! Some parts are a little run down, but it's well kept and the animal pens are accessible and tidy. It's clear that they are constantly repairing and replacing paths and rails and pens. Read some reviews about dirty bathrooms, but they were well stocked. Can't expect pristine restrooms anywhere little humans with muddy feet are! Great half day trip for little ones to just go to the zoo side. Didn't go to the park side today as thunderstorms were forecasted. Staff were helpful and friendly, even when required to give bad news (closed rides) to complaining customers (rain dampened the moods of many)!

It's too bad this zoo is for sale. They have a great petting zoo for young children, a butterfly house and several wild animals. I could spend all day riding the pedal boats and feeding the ducks.

It needs a new make over up dating u can start by adding lots of flowers clean up the grounds plant grass update the rides brand new the merry go round too make it beautiful then it will be inviting

I enjoy taking my kids here, the butterfly house is one of the best. I can't get past seeing some of the animals clearly stressed - from the lone otter furiously pacing in it's cage, to the lone swan swimming in a tiny circle in the corner of the pond.

My experience at York animal Kingdom. They have several kinds of animals at the Zoo. I how ever felt kind of bad for them though. They are in small areas of confined. They appeared to be taken well cared for but I do wish they had larger places to roam free.. Several animals you can pat and also feed.

Its a decent one day outing... Good for kids abt 3-9 years. Zoo is small and lacks ambience (but has fair amount of animals).. Adventure park is also dated but has ample of rides for small kids.. Not that crowded and with full package (allows all rides etc) you will not feel disappointed overall..

We didn't even do the rides section which looked fun but this was a great experience for the little one and my wife and I. The monkies, deer and the tiger were probably the most impressive. The butterfly room was totally worth it and my almost 2 y/o girl LOVED it. The only thing we noticed is that it was a lot of birds, and the goats were a little aggressive like Tom Brady on game day.....

Large Zoo with some great sights. Most of the big attractions were lazy laying around during our visit but the kids loved it none the less. Was alittle disappointed where they dont have any Bears or Moose. Cages seemed very clean. They have a nice picnic area and would recommend for any family to visit.

I give York wild animal kingdom five stars. You should see there four goats by Route 1 if you going by. York's Wild Kingdom has a long road going in and you pass through a wooden Covered Bridge before you get to the big parking lot. They have a Zoo with lots of animals and things. And they have a section with lots of rides. This is a nice place with lots of fun. If you're in the area and have some extra time check it out I don't think you will be disappointed. Nice zoo especially for kids It was too hot for lion, tiger etc. They were unable to be seen. Feed the deer, pat goats etc. Enjoyable.

As I walk through here as I write this. I've been coming here with my daughter for the last 3 or 4 years. Staff are usually friendly and even on busy days we have a blast. Today has been different. Some staff have been amazing like always. But there have been some who have been completely rude and in all terrible. Hours of operations and actual hours of some are not listed and do not stay open till close. My daughter wanted a tattoo and after her ride she skipped over there. To find a women who is painting her nails with whom I am going to guess is her friend. Does not look up and says I'm closing up I'm not going to be able to do it. I find that complete bs cause the website says you're open until 8. Until the change for all nice staff my reveiw will not change

I would not take my kids back there. Too strict on the ride requirements. My 7 year old was either too short or too tall for basically everything! The animals seemed depressed with the exception of 1 monkey. The enclosures were all small and it's the jailed animal experience. The deer petting area was a good experience. But over all these animals are Not living a comfortable happy life...most of the primates were visibly depressed. Not worth the money to get in.

Ok,I guess. So far lots of animals. 3year old loving it. The first thing he did is trip and fall on the terrible rough asphalt. The second thing he did was trip and fall on the terrible rough asphalt again and skin his knee to bleeding. It's run down, asphalt, paint etc but it's here and cheap after labor day. Pretty annoyed at the terrible walking surface since it's a kids place.

We had a great time. Its was a little run down bit still very much worth the visit. We rode a camel, feed goats and there was a place to feed deer! They walked through the fence to get to you. It was a great experience for us all. We also rode the paddle boats. There is also a section of 'kid-ie' rides and games .

Nice and relaxing place to visit. We were able to see some non-native species in the zoo and learn at the nature show before attemding the attached amusement park. Good food nearby as well as the beach. Reentry same day is allowed.

It's just great, still has a very family friendly place. They are always busy but never feel crowded, the layout is perfect to allow families their own little space to stop & look at the animals and go at their own speed without causing congestion and holding up others. We go most years and probably still will when they are older, 12 &14 now and they still like it.

The Zoo is okay. Ample parking but if you get there late it is far away. You can walk or wait 20 minutes for the trolley. Zoo itself is very old. There have been no updates and you can clearly see the peeling paint and how run down it is. Bathrooms were over dirty meaning they were not cleaned from day before. There were plenty of different animals available. A butterfly emporium, turtles, and deer petting area. They have a lion and two tigers. Most zoo's I have been to have none of these. Overall the animals make the park, it is worth visiting, but the park feels like it is getting old and in need of an major update.

Great place for our 2.5yr old twin girls! Not too big and not too small with a great variety of animals. My girls especially loved the interactive experiences like the barnyard feeding zoo, the deer walkabout, the aviary with multiple peacocks, and the butterfly enclosure:) I was worried about the cleanliness of the facility after reading multiple other posts however we were very pleasantly surprised and look forward to returning soon!!!

Not that it was ever awesome, but this place has really gone down hill. It has been years since we visited, when our children were young. Took our grandchildren this time, most likely won't return. Clearly they aren't reinvesting in the establishment. And that's too bad because it's always had great potential.

Great place, Great Animals, Great price The place is in a really good condition and the customer service is really useful and helpful all the employees are nice and you can the animals are well take care of the fact that you can ride animals such as ponies and camels is pretty nice The animals are really cool and the variety is great: you have animals from jungles in South America to a lot of African animals. There are sucks everywhere which is kinda of annoying since close to the lake there is duck poop but is ok since is only really close to the edge of the lake The prices are great when you have discounts or you buy the biggest package however if you buy packages for only the zoo it can be expensive and for some reason you have to pay for kids 3 months or older which really sucks the store (like in every museum/zoo) is overpriced Overall great price and a reasonable price 9/10

Awesome! Fun! Not the best ever but it's so affordable and the rides are great for kids. Zoo is great. Right next to downtown, the beach, fun o rama, bowling. My kids absolutely love it.

Nice area to vacation. Beach also walking distance and you can enter zoo from beach or beach to zoo. So much for everyone to do. Loved it family and all ages having a great time. We will visit again
