I've been here many times and keep coming back! I was in awe over the elephants and giraffes. They were in an enclosure that allowed you to see them.close up. There was a feeling of welcome upon arrival. We were greeted and ushered to the ticket booth. The ticket seller was informative and gave us a map to be able to find our way around. I loved the swamp area. It looked so authentic and the alligators were very alert and active! We will definitely be back!

What a fun zoo. There is a great combination of fun exhibits, beautiful animals and interactive activities. We spent 3 hours amd could have spent at least another. We all thought the enclosures were large and well suited for the animals. They really take good care of these animals and you can tell the caretakers love what they do. On a hot day it would have been more difficult to drag the kids around and paying the 10 per person for the water part seemed steep. But overall one of the best zoos I have been to.

We came here for my daughter & my husband Birthday party.. Everyone had fun and the people that work here were very knowledgeable of all the animals and their habitat, food, behavior and everything.!! We loved it and even though it's not as big as other Zoo's, it was still a beautiful place to visit and enjoy.!! We definitely recommend you guys to come and it takes about 3hrs maybe 4hrs to really enjoy the Zoo and all that it has to offer!! Can't wait for the Lion exhibit to come soon that will be a blast!! Don't forget to get there by 11am so you can see the feeding otters getting some yummy delights!! We all love them cuties.!! The petting zoo was wonderful and we all enjoyed that as well.. The animals here are so majestic and beautiful that we cannot wait to come back soon!!!

It is a good zoo, but needs some updating in places, but they are working on a lion house Some of the walkways are rough and make pushing a stroller difficult in places.

We had a lot of fun here. There are a good variety of animals to see in various sections of the zoo. My favorites were the Asia area and the swamp area. They have the swamp decorated to look like the local terrain with alligators, shacks, boats, etc. It's a very nice looking zoo.

So spread out with very limited signage. Most of the exhibits we're closed and lots of construction but we still paid the same. Being from out of town, it felt like a waste of a day.

The zoo property is beautiful, however, we thought there would be more animals. Also, we realize that summer is not the best time to go. It was a very hot day and most animals were sleeping and staying out of the sun. We would love to check it out again in cooler weather.

We are so proud to have a beautiful, well maintained, very knowledgeable staff at the Audubon Zoo. I know you cannot please everyone but it hurts to read any negative reviews regarding the animals at the zoo. Every time I have visited the animals are feed special diets to keep them healthy, the staff is amazing and very caring towards the animals. I am sure not every day is a great day for these animals as they are in captivity but unfortunately for some of us, this is the only way we will ever get to see them. We appreciate all the hard work that goes into maintaining our Zoo and look forward to continue supporting it and all the other Audubon experiences !!!!

I love going here. Also they offer sevices to help prevent losing children if they should run off. They also have amazing rental options for strollers, wheele chairs and carriers. They are so sweet here. I have never had an issue here and we go a few times every year.

The trails were nice, clean, and peaceful. The visitor's center was neat with interesting exhibits. The staff were friendly and helpful. However, I mainly came to take my son to the planetarium and was very sorely disappointed. There was only about a minute or two of a static image of the night sky with a vast majority of that time devoted to old myths about the constellations and no exploration of the real cosmos whatsoever. Then a 40 minute film about a guy tracking monarch butterflies. I go to the butterfly garden at the insectarium quite often. I came to the planetarium for space stuff. Huge waste of time and money. Trails were ok, though.

Not the nicest zoo but it was decent. A little expensive for the quality.There are a lot of cosmetic things that need to be fixed. The wood on some of the pathways, was a bit scary to walk on, especially in the swamp area, by the gators. The enclosures are also a bit scary. They're not the greatest quality and do not look safe enough to keep the predators on the other side, from breaking out.

Great variety of animals, especially for a zoo inside a large city. Unfortunately I just wish it was more in depth and took more time to cover it all. A few hours and that’s it. The sea lion exhibit still feels out of place and small. But a great place to spend a day and great for getting pictures of animals without much obstructions.

I'm sure it's a good zoo and as much as I like zoos I wouldn't turn down a chance to go to this zoo. I never made it tbru the doors because the price is way too high. $23 plus tax almost $25 is too expensive. Plus only New Orleans residents get in the aquarium for free and you haw to prove that. It's just a little too much. Please lower the adult fees by few dollars and I'm there.

The zoo is a great place to go. You can spend the whole afternoon here with your family. It is a beautiful park setting with the animals in natural habitats. When I was a child (50 plus years ago) this same zoo had all the animals in small cages. They have made constant improvements, humane upgrades and modernization. Now it is a lovely, educational venue. They have many activities throughout the year for children as well, like Boo At The Zoo at Halloween time. The Audubon Zoo is a must see.

The zoo was fine, its the cypress knee or whatever it was called in the Louisiana Swamp portion os the zoo. I ordered a hamburger and fries and within 5 hours, i got sick. I eventually went to the ER and diagnosed with food poisoning. That is all I had to eat that day and just awful! You people need to hold these food handlers up to par when it comes to selling food. The burger wasnt hot at all, just the medium warm fries. Maybe the Department of Health needs to come by and do a surprise inspection. Wouldnt hurt at all! Update: I was admitted to the ICU at my local hoapital due to food posioning and going septic.

Love it! We have the family plus pass and it's fantastic with our kids. We make trips down from the North shore regularly and have found the good times to go so that it's not crazy busy. The zoo is an amazing park in its own right and the animals are decent. They're adding a lot all the time. The aquarium is small but really nice and they're adding more too. The insectarium is great but probably not something you can do every couple weeks.

My wife and kids love our zoo. It’s a great place to take a stroll and enjoy all of the views. It is quite large so be prepared to walk! All of the animals are amazing and the updates are coming along nicely!

This Zoo is not too big nor small. You can see the animals near to you. Bird collection is less. The entry fee is expensive around 23$ for adults. No special music at end of the site seeing. You have to learn how SAN DIEGO ZOO is working and adopt their style. The ZOO management introducing LOINS in the new year-2019. We have visited this place as part of 2018 Christmas Holidays to NEW ORLEANS, LA. This is good for One time Visit along with your family. Your Kids may be love this place than you like. This ZOO also offer running Train on rubber wheels to see all places for which they charge 5$. The canteen inside ZOO provides the food which is very expensive. We have took KID Stroller from registration office for which they have charged 13$ with 5$ deposit in CASH and not accepting the Visa/CR Cards which makes me uncomfortable. My recommendation is to go here on early morning, spend 3 hours and visit the Aquarium located at different place - AUDUBON AQUARIUM OF THE AMERICAS, 1 CANAL ST, NEW ORLEANS, LA 70130. Since we have 2 small kids we didn't went to AQUARIUM as we have lost all energy by walking in ZOO.

It is a good zoo and they are adding lions this year. A lot of the animals are still sleeping and not moving around befor 11:30. The reptile exibit is great. They have a live 2 headed pine snake. Food is mondo expensive so keep that in mind. They have: tiger, monkeys, apes, jaguar, cougar, gators, snakes, frogs, lizards, rhino, elephant, capiberra (but spelled correctly), flamingo, vulture, red wolf, painted dog, pigs, donkey, sheep, goat, all kinds of birds, bob cat, servo, seal, albino gator, fish, chickens, zebra, giraffe, bats, alpaca, etc.

This is a great zoo. I’ve had the family membership twice, and it’s a great place to take the kids. However, I tried to take them today and all of the entrances were blocked off. The only available parking places were not even physically close enough for me to be able to walk to the entrance. When we asked the security officer who was blocking off an entrance, he said it was packed, hence the far away parking. There were people coming out of the zoo though, and we did see available parking space from the street. They shouldn’t of been blocking the parking lot when people were clearly starting to leave. We had to make a giant loop around the zoo from the one way far away parking lot. We will definitely visit the zoo again, but I was not satisfied with what happened today.

What a treasure! As per usual with Audubon standards, this place is a gem. There are boardwalk trails as well as natural trails to move about. The visitor center is beautiful with lots of displays, and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Mikayla was wonder and shared her love of insects and her passion for working at the Nature Center. We visited this place on our last day in New Orleans, but we wished we would have gone on the first day. We will return!Bonus...it is located in Joe Brown park which is beautiful.

Always a great place to take the family! The zoo, especially, is fantastic. The variety of animals and the habitats are just amazing! The Insectarium and Aquarium are great as well if you're looking for something different. I recommend visiting these two in the summer due to the heat. Wait for the temperature to drop before hitting the zoo.
