Just a shout out about my wonderful time in Bush, Louisiana at a ranch, Alegria —means ‘happiness‘ in Spanish. The animals were happy to be rescued and loved and cared for by Ms. Juliette and her staff. We watched an alpaca and some wooly sheep get sheared, we fed horses, we rode horses, we walked trails. Ms Juliette runs her ranch as she cares for these creatures and teaches therapeutic riding and boards other horses on several acres of lovely land. If you want peace, relaxation and to enjoy nature at its finest, the beautifully furnished home there is a sweet spot to rent right in the middle of everything — barn was right across the driveway! Thank you Ms Juliette for your wonderful hospitality.

I've had the pleasure twice to stay at Alegria Ranch in Bush Louisiana and it has so much to offer singles, couples and the whole family. What a great place to celebrate a family birthday. Quality time spent together. You can pick blueberries when in season, ride horses, 4 wheel on the trails or ride over to the pool for a dip, see the variety of barnyard type animals including an Alpaca! Within a 10 minutes drive there is River Tubing and White Sands Beach. Our host, Miss Juliette made sure the 3 bedroom house (with dishwasher, washer and dryer, a/c, fully equipped kitchen) was meticulously cleaned and tastefully decorated. It's fresh as can be. No need to spend money dining out, you can bring your own food and make meals at the ranch. Go once, and you'll go again.... I did! Diane Hemmerich

We had such a beautiful day at Alegria Ranch riding the trails on our horses and guided by our terrific hostess, Juliette. We then had more fun driving around the property on the all terrain vehicles visiting the many adorable animals that we could pet and interact with. Alegria is lovely and beautifully maintained. We highly recommend a visit for a day or longer.

Alegria Ranch is one the coolest places on the northshore. Every time I go there I never want to leave. Love to bring my horse and ride the trails. When I have out of town visitors they stay at the B&B on the ranch. The kids love it and ask to come back each year. A must see. Put it on your to do list. ❤️

We had a wonderful stay at Alegria Ranch last summer. Our kids say the ranch is everything they need and want to come back. It really is paradise! As other reviewers have pointed out, the contact with the animals is real and meaningful. The kids could help feed and take care of them, which they absolutely loved! The hosts are so very warmhearted and helpful. We just loved our house on the ranch right across from the horse barn, with the sweet barn cat waiting for us on the porch every morning. Of course I shouldn't forget to mention the wonderful pool where we could cool down and relax. If you are looking for a truly happy fun-filled holiday in beautiful surroundings, with lots of animals and fantastic hosts, look no further!

Beautiful place for a weekend getaway and only an hour from New Orleans. I especially loved all the animals and riding a horse!
