Such an awesome place! We visited yesterday and I’m still smiling. I cannot believe I got to play with kangaroos!!! We had such a great time wandering the park and touring the cave. Will definitely visit again

Chrome Spirit

Love this park. All the staff were friendly. Awesome to get to pet and feed kangaroos, emus and birds. The sheep herding exhibition was fun to watch. Definitely worth the dollars to rent the golf cart. Makes touring the whole park much easier.

Trish Trissel

This place was beyond our expectations. We plan on going next year. Our three kids had so much fun. As an adult we enjoyed it as well. The staff is so friendly and the animals are so well taken care of. I do recommend getting a go cart!

Ashley O'Ryan

A great family place with lots of up close encounters with the animals. The kangaroos and emu's were so friendly. Staff was very informative and I highly recommend this place. The golf cart rental made it much easier for our family of 6.

Dan Patterson

I know it’s not a corporate funded zoo, so take what I say with a grain of salt. It was nice to see all the animals and birds. The many of the animals looked depressed and weren’t engaged. I saw a kangaroo eat one of the feeding cups before I could do, or say anything. The some of the paths we’re ankle twisters and NOT EVERY GUEST CAN, OR SHOULD be allowed to drive a golf cart. Having said that the staff was very nice and it was worth going to see.

Carla Alrac

This was such a pleasant day. Lots of things to see and plenty of animals to touch and feed. We got a Groupon for admission which was a great deal. The cafe is reasonably priced and tasty.

Amanda Monahan

This place is a one of a kind experience. It is small and perfect for small children. We didn't end up going in the cave, but everything else was amazing. We absolutely loved petting and feeding alp of the animals. I never thought we'd ever pet and feed kangaroos!

Jacob Gravelyn

We had a great time here. We had a small dog with us that they let into the park. The other animals were curious of him and that made it so much fun. The kids enjoyed feeding and petting the kangaroos.

Such an awesome place! We visited yesterday and I’m still smiling. I cannot believe I got to play with kangaroos!!! We had such a great time wandering the park and touring the cave. Will definitely visit again

Jennifer Rutherford

Love the animals but just feel for them as they just stare at you. Enjoyed going in and feeding the birds even if they decide you're the perfect toilet

Christina P

Amazing staff and excellent wealth of knowledge. The kangaroos are friendly and not skittish of people. The staff treats you like family and wants to make sure you and the animals are happy and satisfied with your visit. Highly recommended, even in the off season! They are always open, and the animals are in different enclosures for the winter, so still visible just somewhere different.

Terri Johnson

I thought with all the good reviews it would have a lot of animals and detailed information about the animals. Boy was I wrong!! This place told you absolutely nothing about the animals except for kangaroos. The cages didn’t have any names or facts... and most cages were empty. All the animals looked sad and depressed.I was very disappointed for 90$ definite will not go back or refer people.

Amber Few

What an experience! The absolute best part of this zoo is being able to hang out with kangaroos! You're able to feed them (it is pretty pricey, a very, very small white cup-less than a palm full of food for $1), pet them and walk around with them! My advice though, spring the extra money for a golf cart, if you do not, there is lots of walking...lots of hills. With your paid admission you also get to do the cave tour, which was pretty cool, but sure doesn't beat the kangaroos!

Andy Powell

All the animals were friendly and unique. The cave was nice and cool. We walked instead of using the golf carts, got our exercise in. Even feeding the animals was a really neat experience. Would highly recommend anyone to visit down under

James Moore

Awesome petting zoo. The kangaroos we're great. All the employees were friendly and helpful.

Ashley Honeycutt

OMG I loved this zoo and can't wait to go back and hang out with kangaroos! You can pet and interact with kangaroos, emus, birds, and goats! Kangaroos are very chill and gentle creatures and I loved spending time with them! There's also wolves, foxes, camels and more

Justin Apparcel

This is amazing place to bring your kids you can put the kangaroos feed them

Jessica Skeans

Loved it staff were friendly. Price is a bit expensive for what it is but over all a great day out. If your not used to walking alot the golf cart is a must as well

Brianna Upton

Great family day adventure! We look our 5, 3, and 2 year old boys and had a great day with the Kangaroos and many other animals. Loved the short, but interesting cave tour!

Arianna Childers

Best Australian Zoo Ever!!! I would highly recommend this zoo if you love furry, kind, and funny animals.

Christina Gailes

Great experience! With 342,000 people headed to Nashville that weekend, we wanted to get the HECK out of there. So, we went North. There was a Groupon online, and it was fun, different, and definitely worth the drive! See some cool animals and birds, and get up close and feed kangaroo, Joeys, ostrich, and a glorious peacock! The lady working the Kangaroo spot was SUPER knowledgeable, friendly, and best person to ask questions! We will definitely be back to visit!!!

Jessica Kremer

Our family had a great time! The golf carts are definitely not needed, and the entire park (cave tour included) took around 4 hours. Feeding and petting the kangaroos and parakeets was definitely the high point of our day! The cave tour was very interesting, but I would not take small children as there are steep steps and a narrow path at points.

Charlotte Maarfi

You can get up close to the wild life. Very hilly. They rent golf carts. I highly recommend you do that

Chrome Spirit

Love this park. All the staff were friendly. Awesome to get to pet and feed kangaroos, emus and birds. The sheep herding exhibition was fun to watch. Definitely worth the dollars to rent the golf cart. Makes touring the whole park much easier.

Jennifer Brynelsen

Petting Kangaroos was so much fun and the guy that gives the cave tour is awesome

Trish Trissel

This place was beyond our expectations. We plan on going next year. Our three kids had so much fun. As an adult we enjoyed it as well. The staff is so friendly and the animals are so well taken care of. I do recommend getting a go cart!

Terrence Leighty

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The park was well kept and the animals and birds appeared to be quite comfortable in their surroundings.

Ashley Hinckley

This place was awesome. Very glad we went. Petting a kangaroo was definitely a highlight of my life. It is a little on the pricy side, but there is definitely a few hours worth of things to see. I really wanted to go to a cave, but I have an 18 month old, and the cave here is so short it was easy to carry her through.

Aerobics Delivered

I love this place! I'm so happy that I finally got the opportunity to meet & socialize with kangaroos! Sincerely, LaWanda Brokenborough

Jazmyne Smith

Tickets way over priced for the underwhelming amount of animals here. Getting to pet the kangaroos was amazing though. I've seen more animals at a small petting zoo than this zoo. Some of the animals seem underfed and not well groomed.

Kd L

So much fun for everyone in the family and great staff/animal interaction

Barb Lewis

Recommend renting a golf cart if you have difficulty walking. The zoo is very interactive and has a good variety of animals. You can let kangaroos and emus and tour the cavern.

Brandon Kratz

Great place to bring the kids. We've been twice now and have not been disappointed. Where else can you feed a kangaroo or emu? Staff is nice and helpful.

Ashley O'Ryan

A great family place with lots of up close encounters with the animals. The kangaroos and emu's were so friendly. Staff was very informative and I highly recommend this place. The golf cart rental made it much easier for our family of 6.

Badax

This place is awful. I am not any kind of activist, so don't think that this is coming from someone with an agenda, but I do know animals. Not one animal in this place appears happy, and most are depressed. There is some foreign cat in a 12'sq cage hiding in a doghouse. That was the worse one. Cats are mostly solitary and do not like any disturbances. This place is horrible, and anyone who thinks that it is good is only making statements from ignorance. No insult intended, they just don't understand what they are looking at.

Thomas Simpson

Staff is always nice. It's not that big of a place so easy to do in one day.

johncshockley

Amazing place. Plan to get a golf cart on your visit, especially with kids or if it is hot.

Julianna Monroe

This place is so cool! We have been more than once and like to make it a point to go e every once in a while! For 4 people it's only 55$ on groupon and worth it! This isn't one of those places that let's you stick your hand in some cage... you actually enter a HUGE habitat and play with kangaroos! The guy that manages it is actually from Australia and will talk to you about anything you want to know! He's super sweet and raised the joey you see him holding alot all by himself! He actually took that baby home and bottle fed him because the moms milk dried up! Awesome place with even more awesome people that LOVE and TRULY CARE about the animals they take care of! 10 stars!

Angela Rovang

The general admission includes a cave tour, which we didn't expect much. But we were pleasantly surprised by the many formations we could see in the short cave tour. The mammoth cave was big, but only small portion of the cave tour has formations. This small cave was just as impressive as the mammoth cave if not more. We also enjoyed seeing some animals that we don't usually see in the zoo, such as kangaroos, lemurs, sloth and baby porcupine.

Alex Stigall

The people that work at this establishment are very helpful and knowledgeable. Explained everything clearly and always had a smile.

Grace J

This place is amazing! The Kangaroos are obviously the must see when you visit but that's not all they have. The Camel is not shy, the goats, the birds, the lemurs! It's great place. My only suggestion is if you can help it try not to go while there are school field trips in the two times I went in a 3 week span, school field trips were going. The adult chaperons had less manners than the childern. Other than that it was great!

Kay Hagan-Haller

We were disappointed at how run down this place is. I used a Groupon and the cashier was less than friendly when she told me I had to pay tax and then leaned over to tell the other cashier there was only one more day. The expiration date was the next day. Then we proceeded to walk quite a way uphill to reach the first exhibit. It was supposed to have several animals but had only one in a small caged area. Then we made our way through the rest to be disappointed again and again. We rushed through the bird area to get to the kangaroos because we had to get back for our cave tour. The cave tour was ok except that there was one very young guide who had to lead and then get behind to be sure everyone made it. It was awkward and left those in front wondering how far to go and what to do. In all, it needed a lot of work!!

Polly lush

Great people and getting involved. Hate that hill but beautiful

Hannah Taz

Probably more entertaining for smaller kids. Not a bad way to kill a few hours. Out of all the exotic animals our favorite were the farm dogs :)

Kristopher Williams

I was able to feed and pet kangaroos. I never expected to do this. It was a fantastic experience and l recommend it.

David Moran

This is a must stop! Never fed kangaroos before and you can do it here! Fed the horses, goats, and emu. The lorikeet display will have these birds landing on you if you choose to feed them. I had one on my shoulder and head. Also includes the onyx cave tour which is awesome to see! What an great stop off I-65!

Tiffany Duvall

We took our 6 year old, not really knowing what to expect, and we all really enjoyed ourselves! There are so many animals to interact with and the hands on experience with the kangaroos was the best. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly. I look forward to going back.

Sheila Rekowski

Great family fun and the cave tour was beautiful. Loved renting the golf cart. Also had fun feeding the birds in their enclosure!

Andrea Cuevas

I felt like they can use more of their funds to make the enclosed environments alot bigger especially for the bigger animals like the dango and wolf's.... it was fun.. just felt sad for the tiny cages...

Leslie S

This was so much fun. A great way to end the trip. We had a 1, 3 and 4 yr old and they all loved it. Great prices on the golf carts for those travelling with anyone that has trouble walking up hills.

Donna Fawley

Wonderful place to spend the day. Unique animals with CPL animal shows and petting opportunities. Just wear comfortable shoes as there's some walking to do but we enjoy that, do have golf carts for rent. Plus includes a cavern tour, shop and snack shack.

Joseph Chandler

More than I expected both in experience and cost. Lol. Family of 4 and rented a golf cart ( so glad we did this even though it cost $30 more). All in all we spent $106 for admission for 4 with cart (they do offer a military discount for admission). Being able to hang out with and pet and feed kangaroos is a very unique experience I can't say enough. It was the pinnacle of this zoo trip. We also watched sheep herding, saw some cool birds etc. It was a great experience and well worth it.

Karisma Blankenship

Very nice place. I feel like this zoo is more for families. It was more of a petting zoo. Other than that it was cool that they offer go karts to ride around in the area. The best part was being able to feed the kangaroos!! It was a very cool experience I would definitely love to come back and experience it again.

Tammie Sears

Animals were in shelters because of heat. But we got to see one of the horses, the birds, kangaroos and an emu...been there twice to see the sloth...still no sloth

Lucas Patterson

Great time with the family. Was surprised by the Onyx Cave Tour included in admission - had some fantastic cave formations. Definitely recommend the golf cart, especially on a hot day!

Andreas Claus

First time I petted a kangaroo. The cave tour was fabulous.

Derek temp

Awesome experience. Kangaroos are all very friendly and much softer than expected! They even did great with our kids

Ydnarf Atsilegnave

My husband and I really enjoyed ourselves. The workers are very friendly and knowledgeable on the animals. We got to hand feed kangaroos from all different sizes. They are so cute, friendly and soft. We got to also see a baby kangaroo half way out of the mommas pouch eating. There were other mommas with babies but it was pretty chilly so they stayed in the pouch. We got to see different types of birds and also huge horses and their babies, or I’m assuming that it was theirs. Lol. There were goats and a sloth who was sleeping. But so cute. We even seen a lemur, some wolves and a dingos. They even have a cave you can explore but didn’t get to see it. Next time, cause we’re definitely coming back again. They even have this huge dog that just hangs around the gift shop area, super sweet and friendly. Not to mention two cats. All the animals are well taken cared off.

Mike Shaw

We come back to see "Hollywood" the Blue and Gold Mccaw, every year. This place is AWESOME and the golf carts are an extra nice touch.

Cheyenne Lloyd

It was amazing going through the cave tour. Seeing and petting the animals were fun. Seen some really cute dogs just walking around.

Steve Black

Just a great experience. The cave is very cool. The feeding area with the roos is cool as hell.

jennifer pugh

The Animals are amazing, we rented a cart (highly recommended). However, the cave was dangerous.the lighting is so poor in there, you can't see the steps, and there are no rails to hold. We had to go back (I have MS and couldn't do the steps without a handrail.

Alicia Reneau

It had been almost 15 years since we have been here. We took our daughters when they were young and we had a great experience. So, we decided to take our granddaughter. It was a disappointment. The aviary did not have many birds this visit-2019. Years ago the birds landed on our shoulders and arms. We were able to see the kangaroos and other animals, but they just laid around and sleep. No excitement. We may not visit again. For the price we paid it was a disappointment.

Kayla Harrod

So much more than I expected! We had a great time. Many animals to interact with plus you can get a golf cart to ride around. The cave is included with cost of admission and it’s a great tour (short which was good for our two small children).

Jim lavelle

This is a great little place. My six year old spent an hour petting and feeding Kangaroos, and emus. I was amazed how docile the kangaroos were. We watched a border collie work sheep, and petted a camel. The animal show was informative, and fun. The assortment of animals is not huge, but they are where you can see them and interact with them. The cave tour was short, but interesting. We really enjoyed ourselves.

Leah Snapp

We had a great day! Was so much fun.

Ben Rudy

I was a little skeptical on it. But we really liked it. I will say that we did get the golf cart, but if we were to go back I would pass. There was a pretty big hill at first to go up. But after that it wasn't that bad.

Evangeline Pousson

Beautiful birds and fun experience with feeding the lorikeets and kangaroos and wallabies. The cave tour was also fun and had a great guide who knew his stuff.

Donna Fawley

Wonderful place to spend the day. Unique animals with CPL animal shows and petting opportunities. Just wear comfortable shoes as there's some walking to do but we enjoy that, do have golf carts for rent. Plus includes a cavern tour, shop and snack shack.

Jackie Gregory

We were greeted with very friendly staff at every turn. The cave tour is our favorite with a very informative guide. They had a variety of birds, kangaroos, sheep, wolves, goats and lemurs. We was really enjoying our trip until we was aggressively greeted by the owner's personal dog whom has the liberty to waltz about the park freely with no supervision. It growled and snapped at my five year old daughter's hand. I immediately told a park employee whom advised us to let the owner know and acted if this was a reoccurring incident. Park goers that overheard my complaint verified that it was a reoccurring incident as it had happened to them on a past visit. I don't know the owner but I wouldn't advise visiting the park; especially if you have small children, until the owner has that problem contained. It's pretty bad when the wild animals acted more domesticated than your pet; it should definitely be the one with the cage

Joseph Chandler

Steven Scaggs

Got there about 9:20 and all golf carts rented. The incline to get to the zoo area is steep and with breathing issues this could not be done. Was not told this before paying it was only walking there that it was evident. Wasted my money because could not walk it and they do not have enough carts for a small group let alone the general public admissions. Was told they have 30 carts total 4 and 6 seaters. Half those were reserved so a handicap person like me wastes money because they cannot accomodate. Poor business.

Constance Norton

The family had so much fun there. We rented 2 golf carts since a six seater wasn't available at the moment. We had to wait for golf carts but it took about 10mins to wait for one and we were 3rd on the list, not bad. We got to see birds, kangaroos, emu, horses, etc.. We got to pet and feed them too. The cave was exciting and the guide was great. They had a really nice gift shop too. Family fun.

Jennifer Helton

Such a unique place! We rented a golf cart and cruised around. So fun! The cave tour was far more impressive than I expected. Loved feeding the kangaroos!

Tara Sabic

The staff is very friendly and approachable and although the space is quite small, it actually works as an advantage because it makes for a very welcoming environment. It's not so big, crowded, and commercialized that you feel overstimulated or rushed. Plus of course, how often do you get to walk up to a kangaroo and have him gently grasp your hand with his little fingers while he munches contentedly from your palm?

Ashley Thompson

I was pleasantly surprised at how fun and engaging this zoo is! There is more visitor and animal interaction than a normal zoo. I loved being with the kangaroo as they lounged around. My son and I had a memorable experience!

maxwell eriksen

25$ an adult. But I imagine feeding so many mouths in expensive so that seemed like a fair price. Golf carts were available for extra money for “extra” people. Big hill that was no fun climbing but was fun going down when an employee gave us a free ride down on golf cart. She was awesome. Pet a few sleepy kangaroos who appeared to have very full bellies!! Lots of birds including a wild roaming peacock and a sleepy tortoise. The emu ate food from my hand.. however my fiancé was too scared to do that so it ate food from a cup in her hand. What a chicken!

Ashley McLemore

The kids enjoyed the hands on experience with the animals, which was most important to us, however I found the education programming and staff interactions lacking what I had experienced in the past.

Pam Henderson

I loved that place I'm from Montana and that place I would go back to again thanks to the tour guide wonderful job on the cave. If anyone is in their neck of the woods please make the stop it is so worth it.

Kevin Nguy

Great zoo with very friendly staff! The kangaroos were super cute and playful. You can buy food to feed the animals. Spent 2 hrs there (saw the cave as well) but can easily spend half a day.

Kiersty Lemon

Fun. It would be hard to visit with a wheelchair or walker because of uneven ground but we were okay with our baby's stroller. It was a nice visit and we enjoyed feeding and petting the kangaroos. The cave tour was also enjoyable and informative.

Dave Mutogi

What a great place to pet a roo, birds, turtles, and tour a cave to cool off. Golf carts are great as well with little kids. Make sure you venture the trails, other animals are placed there too. The staff are of younger generation but still very interested in the position and would like to see you enjoy your time. I will come again and will recommend to everyone.

Tiffany Brearton

Lot of fun. Was a lot of walking though. Wish golf carts were not so expensive to rent.

Amy Lawson

We were a little unsure of this place at first but we're so glad we went! We talked with several of the animal handlers and learned that the majority of animals are rescues that would have otherwise not survived in the wild or perhaps be euthenized. The handlers were all very knowledgeable of the animals and clearly cared for their well being. It was exciting to interact with so many animals as well! We were able to feed and pet kangaroos and see babies in their pouches! The cave tour was also interesting as it provided a different experience from what we saw in Mammoth--this was wet and drippy and we saw some neat features.

Review Guy

You can pet kangaroos. There's actually a lot more cool stuff including a sweet cave, but you can pet kangaroos. Did I mention that? Oh yeah actual Aussie guy, named Mick of course , running the front desk. Actually the only Aussie. Dan (I think was his name) the owner was very nice too.

Corey H

This place is way better than I expected. They have a big variety of animals to look at and they have a cave tour that comes with your admission. If you do the cave tour, and you go to the other 2 animals shows, plus look at all the animals you will easily spend 3-4 hours here. We were hear almost 4 hours. All of the people working here were really nice as well. My favorite part was the kangaroos, you go into a big fenced in area, and you are free to roam to pet and feed them. There are lots of kangaroos to pet as well. So you don’t have to worry about waiting.

Charles Pike

It is a great place to bring your family and it is very budget friendly my kids had a blast

April Alexander

We absolutely loved it! We took a small group of 7 year old girls. It was non stop fun. I will suggest..spend the extra for a golf cart. It helped us so much. Without it, we would've never made it to everything. Plus, it's uphill the beginning of the trip. The birds are wonderful. My personal favorite.. The girls loved the birds landing on/feeding them; and let's not forget the kangaroos. The cave was neat.

Rachel Honeywood

Awesome place to see and interact with animals. The shows are nice as well. There is food and drink for purchase which is affordable. This includes a free cave tour. While not that long, if you are older, have a disability or a small child it may prove a bit difficult (which they dont tell you). Otherwise there is quite a bit of variety for your money.

Shelley Quire

We always have a great time here. The best perk is the golf cart rental option for $30.00. There lots of walking to and from different areas and it helps. I like the freedom you have here. Nice experience.

Ella Fox

Great zoo with a small cave tour. Animals seemed well taken care of, especially the birds.

John Pulliam

Awesome exhibits and awesome cafe. Highly recommend the bison burger. We recommend taking the golf cart.......the price is well worth the use for the terrain. The cave tour is a bit of a challenge.....especially with a 6 year old and 8 month old......so use extreme caution when going on the tour.

Shannon Knowles

This place is amazing! I think we only had half the experience due to cool weather. The animals were more concerned with staying warm. Once the sun was out the animals were.so.much happier We loved Mason the Cave Tour Guide and Harley the Shepard

Lindsay Wagner

Kangaroos are great, it was a lot of fun having one come hopping up to you. But that's definatley the main attraction, all the other exhibits are run down compared to what was expected; others completely empty. Cave was nice though. It seems as if they shut everything down two hours before they close, so if you want to get a bite to eat at 3 o clock and have been there since a little after noon, you're sadly out of luck. Most drinks were out or hot in cans. Being in 95 degree weather that long and not having an option of cold drink, other than coke or having any actual food to eat isnt good. If you're planning on making the trip, I would suggest getting there close to open and do everything before your short cave tour and bring cash for the food to feed the animals!

jake hoffman

AMAZING experience. Went to Kentucky for the caves, but spending a few hours at Kentucky Down Under was nearly the highlight of the trip. There are PLENTY of animals to feed, whether it’s birds, kangaroos or any of the other feeds they have to offer. Definitely enough kangaroos to go around. Wasn’t hard to find one for yourself and at most times we had multiple to ourselves. Wasn’t very expensive after you paid the park entry fee (golf cart for an additional charge if you don’t feel like walking). The bird feeding was extremely cheap. And the kangaroo/emu feeding wasn’t bad either. $10 and we got a large cup of feed, and all of the time we wanted to walk around feeding and petting the animals. Animals got a little aggressive at times but nothing dangerous or frightening, they’re just cute and hungry. Definitely not afraid of people. I HIGHLY recommend this experience.

Thea Emilie Lindberg

Amazing!! We passed through the area on our way down south, and decided to stop by. I am a huge animal lover, and found the experience absolutely amazing. The weather was really terrible, but we didn't really mind as it meant we were pretty much the only ones in the entire zoo. The kangaroos were super social and cuddly, the birds were very talkative, and the zoo manager and the staff were beyond great. There were even some adorable dogs running around we got to pet. Best zoo I have ever been to, and we will most likely stop by on our way back up north. Also, their fudge is amazing, so try it if you plan on going!

Candi Gruen

Very neat place. The interaction with the kangaroos were awesome

Chuck Fulcher

Well-kept park with very friendly, accommodating staff. The Onyx Cave tour is short but contains some nice tidbits of history. The animals (especially the kangaroos and emu) are healthy, friendly and well-behaved. Thoroughly enjoyable experience, although it would have been nice to have seen a sloth.

Michelle Cockriel

Love this place! It's amazing! Love the animals. It's wonderful to be able to feed and pet the kangaroos. I can mark that off of my bucket list now. It's nice to have something like this, so close to Ohio. I wish I could feed and pet the lemurs. I would pay extra for that! I love lemurs!!! My bucket list includes feeding/petting lemurs.

John Ferreira

Surprisingly a good time. It wasn’t crowded when I went (Monday in early spring). Kangaroos are adorable and very calm around people. Bird cages are a bit small and a little sad to see, especially the vulture. Wolf, foxes, and dingo cages are fair sized and they seemed kinda happy.

alli **

All of the animals were friendly. Loved the camel! Staff was informative and friendly. Kids had a blast.

Bryan Sacks

Great place to visit and enjoy! Took my friends and I about 2 hours to walk through. Highly recommend the cave tour it’s very peaceful and a nice escape from the heat if your going in the summer.

Nathan Huber

My group and I had a really great time. We enjoyed the cave tour and the guide Chris was really funny and knowledgeable. We liked Chelsea’s pet show, seeing the laughing kookaburra, tiny alligator, and snake. The gift shop had a wide variety of different fudges and from the samples I tried, they were all delicious. My favorite part however was the kangaroos. They were really sociable and ate right out of my hand. I will be back and definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys animals or caves. Thanks!

Roger Wilson

We had a great time. All my grandchildren loved it.

Derek Sims

Great place to go for the animal experience. I loved petting the animals! There is a very steep hill that is pretty long at the beginning and more around the park. If you have someone who is handicapped, it's worth paying for the golf cart. Don't go mainly for the cave tour, you will be disappointed. It's about 15 minutes and has about 170 stairs. There are not many handrails for the steps and they are wet and slippery. I do not suggest it for little kids, it made me nervous for mine.

Jessica Poteet

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip. Even though a golf cart isn't required, it was nice to have on a hot day. You may rent a golf cart for $30.

Chari Fleener

I liked the park. The kids had a great time, but there were some unexpected costs, particularly a golf cart rental that was necessary for my elderly parents. The park is very spread out and most people don't walk it.

John Carter

Is not in anyway associates with the National Park, and don’t just come for the cave, you will be disappointed and over crowded. Otherwise the kangaroos were awesome

Garrett Cramer

This is a great place for a day out. Lots to see and do. They have golf carts to rent.

Tara Hurdle

Great place for cool experiences. Just wish the man had night been cutting grass when everyone was out. He was blowing dust and etc. on us.

AJ Allen

You can spend all day here! We started the day with an underground cave tour and spent the rest of the day interacting with different animals. This is the perfect place if you have a little one, they'll love it. Will go again.

Rosa Robinson

A really neat place to take the whole family. Young or old, it's very family friendly. The cave tour is not to long, or too difficult, tbough there are stairs that can be a bit tricky. The guide was very friendly. Those working in the shops were friendly and helpful. The kangaroos are so soft and docile. Our family enjoyed the visit.

Jacqueline Gonzalez

All the way from TEXAS we loved it! Although weather wasn’t on our side, we had such an amazing experience. I loved how kid friendly the tour guides were to my 2 grand babies, they made it so much better.

Mischief

It is an amazing, interactive place. Lots to see and is great for the kids.

Dee Vee

It was a lot of fun. The staff that was there was knowledgeable and informative. It was super interactive also. I just wish I would have been made aware as to what was not available since it was considered off season. No petting zoo, no cafe. No performances. Ugggh. Well that's disappointing. But my hubby still had a great time.

Regina Brownfield

Great for the kiddo. She loved the kangaroos. They are so tame and friendly for little kids.

Genevieve Truxes

Spectacular!

Cassandra Sears

We loved this!!! Will be going back. Look for a groupon or bring your AAA card

Tony K

Surprisingly fun for 3 adults. We enjoyed the cave tour, the animal show, and above all roaming around kangaroos! They're so soft! We rented a golf cart, and for this hot day, that was a good choice.

eddie naymon

Great stop off of 65. If you've never been to a cave, or pet a kangaroo, or even seen a coo coo bird, you're missing out. The staff is super helpful, and very knowledgeable. A great experience all in all.

Kristina N.

Took a little day trip with my in-laws and our 2.5 year old. The little one loved petting the kangaroos and feeding the birds. The grandparents loved the golf carts and not having to walk the whole park. We spent 4 hours here. Had lunch and saw what we wanted to see.

Roger Bush

Nice place to spend the whole day, and you should rent a golf cart if you don't want to be worn out!!!

Candice Shubbuck

We took our 10 month old son here and we had a great time. I had a Groupon, which is definitely the way to go. We rented a golf cart, brilliant on their end, that was the highlight of the experience, Haha. It's super hot out and the golf cart definitely made it enjoyable, and our 10 month old loved the golf cart! Small zoo, the experience was great though. Definitely will be back!

Same Old Me

Loved our visit! It was a great way to get rid of some travel energy and engage for a little bit with the animals. We loved the cave tour and information provided during that.

Patrick Welton

Best Zoo ever! Where else can you feed and pet kangaroos! Friendly staff and very well kept. Was one of the best stops on our trip.

Diana Staley

This place was awesome! 2 of the female kangaroos were new moms..baby kept peeking out of pouch! We fed several animals...it was an animal lovers paradise!!!!

Twila Fields

This place was incredible. We got to do things and pet animals that we would never be able to anywhere else. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. If you do just know you will need a golf cart they will provide for a price. This place was a little higher in price but over all well worth it. This is a must for everyone.

Aneel Kanuri

Must visit if you live near by. Australia themed. This is where i saw a kangaroo for first time and that to so close. I pet kangaroo and i even saw white peacock dancing there. Lovely place.

N Nomad

This is an amazing location with a fantastic experience. I highly recommend going in and feeding and petting the kangaroos.

1843rob

Always a great time and fun for the family. If ya do go do yourself a favor and get a golf cart it really is worth it. My family always has a great time when we go. The cave tour is awesome and great for people new to them.

hubert font

This is a great place to visit. The staff are all friendly. The gift shop is not over priced and the whole park is spotless. Just fyi get a golf cart.

Sydney Kaercher

One of my favorite zoos! Never have I been to another where you can be so hands-on with the main attraction. Entrance fee also includes a cave tour. I would share some of the cave photos but I don’t want to spoil it for you. See it for yourself! Highly recommend...

Tonya Allen

Love this place! It was so neat and you can rent golf carts to drive around. The animals were neat

Jennifer Cowan

Great place to visit. My son especially enjoyed. Interactive. Staff were kind, friendly & happily answered questions. We'll definitely go back.

Bernice Miller

Took my grandsons and my dad and we loved it. Purchase the groupon then rent a golf cart.

nichole bischoff

My family and I had such a wonderful experience here! Hands down better than spending the day at the Louisville Zoo. Friendly staff and th golf carts were a nice added touch! We will be back again

Stacey Smallwood

Great little spot to visit. Convenient location. Reasonable pricing. Check Groupon before going! Ample parking. Alot of walking. Can rent a golf cart for 4 or 6 people but these are pricey. Has daily educational shows. The kids loved the meet and greet the animals and the sheep and dog herding show. Very interactive with all the animals. Knowledgeable, friendly staff. Restaurant on site, but we did not go. Small cave tour included with admission. Nice cave for families. Good hours.

Jennifer Markel

This isn't a huge place but you can definitely spend some time here! We were happy to learn our passes let us take a small cave tour, but that wasn't the most exciting thing! You get to go in with the kangaroos and pet them and feed them!! I was on cloud nine! I spent 2 hours with the kangaroos haha! They also have emus and other farm animals you can feed as well. I only gave it 4 stars because the food from the concession stand was definitely not worth the money.

Teresa Peer

Fanatstic! We hung out with kangaroos and turtles for several hours. Loved the border collie demonstration. The zoo was fun and it was the first time we ever got the nectar to work while feeding the birds. Great for all ages.

Joseph Camardo

Loved the experience, especially hand feeding the kangaroo. Don't miss getting into a bird cage and have them sit on your shoulder an drink nectar from a cup. There is also a cave tour and more. A do not miss experience! I rarely give 5 stars. This is one of those.

Olivia Roupe

This place has come a very long way. Under new management by Mick, he has turned the place into a wonderful place. He has a passion for the animals and it shows in his work with Kentucky down under. He does the best with what he has. They may not have the most state of the art buildings, this place is very old to begin with. But the improvements he has made it's well worth a trip. And the new golf carts are well worth the money.

james lear

A true gem in the Mountains of Kentucky! If children are traveling with you this is a top choice to spend half a day! It does not disappoint!

Roamin' Rich

We had a great time. Having the golf carts available made it effortless, which when you have 5 small kids is huge. Plenty to see and do and I personally thought the cave was the best. The kids loved the aviary and feeding the kangaroos.

Tracy Sowers

We really enjoyed our time at Kentucky Down Under. Cave tour was very nice. Really enjoyed interacting with the animals. Staff was very friendly.

nickol lugo

It's so amazing to get so close to the Kangaroos and lorikeets. This place is just so amazing and so great to take your children to, it's a great experience for them.

Matthew Hirtz

Really fun wildlife experience. The Kangaroos and birds are great! The cave tour on site is nice too.

Christina Croft

My family had a great time. Staff are very friendly. The animals we did see were beautiful and well mannered. It had an on the farm vibe and peaceful atmosphere. Most family friendly attraction we have been to in Kentucky :) I did expext more animals but it was hot. So i understand some might of been in a cooler place. The petting zoo part was amazing. I have two toddlers and none seemed to mind little hands. I will definitely bring our own drinks next time as the food stand did not have straws for the littles. Prices on food and drink are what i would expect. Loved the free range pup who sat with us while eating lunch. Was nice to see fur babies welcomed.

Christopher Yoke

Was a great trip with the family. Amazing hanging out and petting Kangaroos, Emus and Tortoises

Allen Batson

Very enjoyable excursion where you can pet a kangaroo and explore an underground cave. Recommended for nature lovers and families with children. Discount price for CDL holders. Right across from Love's truck stop.

Carrie Stoever

My kids absolutely loved this place! Where else can you go to pet kangaroos? And feed Larakeets? Lots of other animals too.

Brenda Whitworth

Nice, especially for toddlers. They have golf carts you can rent.

Matt Fleenor

Really Cool place.....lots of amazing animals....very rustic park in a wooded area....great food at the cafe, they have a cool gift shop and an even cooler cave! They even have a fleet of golf carts to get around if you don't want to hike it or you can't hike it.

Ron Scott

This was a very well-kept facility. The animals seem very healthy and happy. They had Kangaroos and tons of birds goats horses camel sheep peacocks and others. The animals were very friendly as was the staff. Suggest a golf cart if handicapped at all.

Logan Eskridge

This place was really amazing not to pricey and they let you go in and pet a tail kangaroos. They have a neat cave to also visit really cool place.

Benjamin bloomer

Tons of things to do. Love the cave and tour. Lots of fun interaction with animals. My kids loved it.

Rhonda Pennington

Really nice park. Not many animals. Amen for the golf cart rental. Cave was beautiful!

Rakim 7

Loved this place. Great experience for the kids. We spent about 5 hours here. The kids enjoyed petting all of the kangaroos, petting the birds, the Emus, and the Sloth. The cave was nice. The staff was very nice and informative.

Tressa Price

I love Kentucky down under I like what they've added to it I think their admission price has dog out the roof once I have the golf cart price on top of that if they combined it and made it one price optional it might be different but as far as the staff of the people that took you through the cave and stuff they were excellent are the people who work with the animals very friendly and accommodating have taken my grandkids there three times I know that we'll go back and then we just like to see the prices a little better for us Grammys who are taking grandchildren

Christina S.

I work locally, and always send families to Kentucky Down Under. Such a great place for a family to go on a nice day. I LOVE the Lorikeets, where you're allowed to feed them! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. You learn just as much as you have fun. Definitely worth the drive if you're in the area!!!

Kimberly Embry

First time at KY Down Under and will definitely go back! Highly recommend renting a golf cart. Worth the extra $30 not to have to walk up and down those hills!

Nancy Morris

Really enjoyed it had a good time. Good place to take family and kids

RMartin Choate

Nice little park...a bit run down but it is not cheap to take care of that many animals and pay a good staff. Loved the animals and the birds! Best part was our great Mammoth Cave Guide!

Ellen Turley

Loved our trip here! Great fun for the whole family!

Jennifer Andrews

Kids loved feeding the parakeets and emus. And petting baby kangaroos! We also saw a neat animal show and got to touch a snake and a baby camen. Gave it four stars because the cave tour was too crowded and some of the structures are old and worn down looking.

Jennifer Shockley

Totally awesome experience. Plan on renting a golf cart to make getting around easier, especially if you have small children or visit during hot weather.

Sarah Ritchie

Amazing place to visit. Staff is very friendly. We loved the kangaroos

John G

The staff were incredible, not entirely sure if the kangaroos are sedated but they sure appeared very laid back with little or no movement. Noticed this with the other animals which was strange also. Cave tour guide was the greatest!

James Welday

Good experience. You can get right up to most of the animals and they are super friendly. If it's not a hot day, you can probably skip the golf carts as there's a hefty price for them. The walk to the animals is only 1.5 miles. Cave tour is also really pretty but it's a very difficult walk!

Dina Kwiatkowski

Mick has passion and energy, answered every question I had about kangaroos! Very well run, the cave tour was amazing, you just might want to wear sneakers instead of flip flops. The animals are amazing! A must when traveling through!

O F

Awesome. Everything was great. All staff was friendly and knowledge of their animals. The animal encounters were fun and educational. The cave tour was very nice. I was worried about planning everything out but they signed us up for a cave tour upon Zoo entry, and everything else flowed very smoothly. We did grab some basic food at the Cafe (they have burgers and hot dogs, sodas, etc.) No complaints there. Reasonable prices on everything and this was a 'surprise roadtrip' for the family and everyone throughly enjoyed their time. The kangaroos were by far our favorite exhibit, they were all friendly and just hanging out. We opted for the kangaroo feed and are glad we did. The kids enjoyed being able to get and feed them. Our second trip highlight was the cave tour, everyone said it was their second favorite part of the Zoo. Well job by the staff all around, from initial greeting at the entrance to the animal encounters and everything in between.

Maranda Hunnicutt

So much fun! Petting and feeding kangaroos and birds was the highlight. We didn't rent a golf cart and didn't need it. Lunch for 6 people was $30 and the food was good. Preferred this over traditional zoo because you can touch and interact with the animals. Everyone was friendly and helpful and we took home some delicious fudge! They also have a cave tour that is short and included with admission. We purchased adult tickets on groupon and it was around $50 for those and kids tickets combined. Fun and relatively cheap for 6 people. You can easily do this in 3 hours.

Tanya Sutton

This place was so cool! It wasn’t as busy as I thought a place like this would be which was totally fine. A lot of walking is involved here so you can even rent golf carts if your group isn’t keen to walking. My mom and I walked and hit every building/attraction that was open and really enjoyed our time here. The staff here was also extremely nice and made the experience even better. Feeding kangaroos was surreal!

Julia Lavin

Worth the price! My 3 year old had a great time and it was an awesome way to burn off extra energy walking up and down hills. Staff was super friendly, especially at the petting areas.

Erin Booth

We had such a great time visiting KDUAZ yesterday. It was a perfect place for our nieces, age 11 and 2 and nephew, age 7. The shows were very informative and interesting. The cave tour was short and sweet. And I think the best part for us was feeding the lorries. The birds will land on your heads and arms and stay as long as you have food. Overall a very fun experience for a decent price. Look on groupon for good deals on admission. I got our adult tickets for about half price!

Brent Palmer

This is a truly unique experience. Where else in Kentucky can you pet a kangaroo or even a sloth !? The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and the animals love the attention. There's also a cave tour if you like that kind of stuff. Definitely something for the whole family.

becbec gal

So much fun! It is a hidden gem. Spent the whole day there from the cave tour to petting kangaroos. The only 2 things that could have gone a lottle smoother was rental of golf cart and the food options. We were skipped for signing for keys and then had to go back. Food wise the cafe was not to expensive but they were out of about 4 items we wanted and don't really have anything for those with dietary restrictions. The gift shop workers, cave guide, and pet handlers made up for that though!

wendy marie

In the beginning I wasn't impressed. But once you get to feed the kangaroos, you change your mind. We happened to go on a day it hailed. The guy working the kangaroo area was very kind and seemed to general care about the animals. My son loved it and we'll be back again.

Chasity Phelps

The employees really love the animals and take such good care of them. That is the most important thing. Next, everything is clean and open for the animals and humans alike. Renting the golf cart was so worth the money, unless you prefer a challenging hike due to numerous hills.

Patricia Eileen Crowe

Had a great morning with the animals. The cave tour was great and informative. The tour guide was adorable and his human master was adorable too...Great place to visit with your four legged children...
