REVIEWS OF Kansas Wildlife Exhibit IN Kansas

I was sad that I didn't get a picture of the bobcat before he went into his cave, but he was gorgeous. And we got to see the red-shouldered hawk close up because his handler was taking him for a walk. And we were able to get stories of some of the critters from the lady while she was feeding and cleaning. You can tell they love the animals and put their hearts into the work.

A large park with various things to look at, including the small animal exhibit. Depending on the time of year, there may not be many animals.

Fun place to visit

Come on, this place can have five stars for simply existing and being what it is: free and interesting. Sure, it's not worth a special trip but if you're in the area, spend some time noticing the incredible colorations of the wood duck or the proportions, up close, of a bobcat. To call it small is an understatement, but to call it charming also might be.

Not bad for being part of a free wide-open park there is a beaver but sometimes he is not outside of his habitat so you won't be able to see him

This is a great, little, FREE exhibit in Riverside Park. There is some good information about some animals that are native to Kansas. Plaques talk about the animals on display as well as talking about different types of animals, such as predators and prey. When we went it was feeding time and my 4 year old enjoyed seeing what the different animals eat.

A choice experience seeing Kansas animals close up. If you are there when they are, the keepers love telling the individual stories of each animal. Did you know Bobby the Bobcat is 20 years old? In 1998 his mom was hit by a car while carrying him in her mouth.

Conveniently located in the Central Riverside Park. It's an outdoor exhibit that's open all year, even in the bitter-cold Kansas Winter. The animals are living in outdoor "habitats" that are truly metal cages with some live foliage and water pools.

This is a cute exhibit of native KS animals but there are only a few animals in small cages. It was really hot when we were there and the animals didn't look too great. We saw a beaver eating food pellets, a few turtles, birds and a possum, but a lot of the animals were hiding out of the heat.

Quiet, peaceful free small zoo with native Kansas animals. Good views of animals, birds and habitats. No petting. Educational signs posted. Replicas of animal footprints in sidewalks. Located in large city park with playground equipment, fountains, benches.
