This Zoo is classified in the category of Zoo.
It may be a small zoo but it has a lot. I would like to recommend feeding the birds. You feed them around 3:30pm and there is only so many slots. This was something I did with my wife and girls and I will never forget it.
Excellent little zoo. Very nice exhibits.
The zoo is small but very nice all staff were very nice and helpful. The individuals that went had a lot of fun.
Very well maintained and very intresting but kinda small for a zoo for the admission price very fun though we went on memorial day not that crowded but for how small it was it looked packed from the outside
This is the perfect zoo for young children. Not too long. Not too expensive either.
It was closed when we got there, but the animals still seemed happy to see us.
Great little zoo. You can tell they care about their animals a lot.
Very cool park beautiful break in the city, very safe and comfortable place to relax
Seems so much biger than it is. Well worth the trip and cost. A+
I grew up at this park and it's only gotten better! Go check out the exhibits!!
Excellent little zoo with a lot of fantastic exhibits. Be sure to take your time and really look around because there is a lot to see both high and low. Lots of opportunities to education and some really neat experiences at this zoo!
Had a great day! Lots to do!
MPZ must be one of the best small zoos in the country. Highly recommended!
For a town the size of Bloomington, this is great (not when compared to a St Louis or San Diego zoo). But, there are tigers, snow leopards, wallaroos, alligators, massive owls, va bald eagle, and plenty more to see. You can easily rush through in 30 minutes, or take your time and make it last a little over an hour. Great for little kids.
Very clean small zoo. Concessions are very reasonable prices.
We had a fun family day here. It's also nice to have the park as well. The kids enjoyed the fountains at the park.
This place is great. It's hard to find a place in central illinois that has a tiger. This place was clean and not expensive. I will be coming back in the future.
Perfect for small kids. There's a splash pad, playground and paddle board all within walking distance. Zoo is small enough to bring small kids without them losing interest but has plenty of diversity.
Cute little zoo. Wonderful place to spend an afternoon.
Very friendly. Our 12 year old enjoyed it as much as we did.
nice maintained small zoo
Pretty good zoo considering how small of a town it's in
Love taken my kids here. Small zoo but that is perfect for us and it has a carousel
Love the splash pad/ zoo/ lake .I would love to see a pool for swimming for adults & children instead of putting all the $$$ into the zoo.
It was definitely a good value ( $7.00 for adult), but it was also in need of some upkeep. All in all, a good place to stop.
staff was nice at the gift shop. I went on a cold and wet day with 2 of my kids. We enjoyed the goats,Tigers and birds. However some of those animals looked starved, despressed and drugged. We didn't like that. The tigers were so thin. Other than that I have no complaints everyone is nice the building is clean inside and out and they let me take all the pics I wanted.
Great medium size zoo and park. Very peaceful!
Recomend going here. Nice small zoo with awesome animals.
Good for a quick visit to the zoo. Price is fairly inexpensive
Very nice! Clean and friendly. We will be back.
Very nice for a small, compact zoo. Wish the big cats had more space.
A flamenco dies after receiving strong stonings in a ZOO - It was an insensitive child the animal was stoned by a child at Miller Park Zoo, the rock broke his leg and they decided to sleep him. That is not cool.
Really nice zoo! Doesn't take all day to see all the animals! They usually have special days for thw whole family during the summer! Always trying to have fun days! Always trying to make great new additions, be it animals or homing for them! Staff seems to always be knowledgeable when asking questions about animals and what not! They have a petting zoo! Its overall a very nice zoo! Parking right in front without super long walks!
A fun little zoo that’s good for spending the afternoon at then venturing over to the park to finish the day off. They’ve got just enough animals to keep the young ones interested and being a smaller zoo you won’t wear yourself out slogging around it all day. They’ve got a carousel and a gift shop as well.
What a wonderful little zoo. The staff was so kind, and excited to talk at length with my little alligator lover. The animals are obviously well cared for. ❤️ The playground with splash pad right next door means you can have a full day of fun. Bring a picnic to enjoy at the playground or let the concession stand do the cooking.
Pretty decent zoo for a small zoo. I used to run a USDA licensed exotic animal brokering company for a decade or so, thus I know my exotic animals. They do a great job with a smaller amount a space than many zoos. I do think all AZA facilities are housing their Palmas Cats wrong, even Miller... This breed needs to be housed as to make it impossible to expose them to toxoplasmosis which is causing nearly complete litter failures amongst the Palmas Cats bred in the USA by zoos. Private breeders are getting it correct, as well as Paris, etc. Anyway good zoo, I was even married here almost exactly 11 years ago to the day.
This is an awesome local place to take kids... It's small, but has a nice variety of animals and activities. Make a day of it and go to the zoo and the free splash park right outside.
Nice little zoo. Very clean and interesting animals.
Nice & sunny, too windy to catch fish. I tried tho'
I loved the zoo! They have a variety of animals. I loved the pink flamingos! I liked learning about the animals and were they were on the endangered list. It was so fun!
This zoo is in a class of its own. You can feel the history of the first zoo in Illinois all around, especially the beautiful carousel. The zookeepers and junior zookeepers are friendly and inviting. We really enjoy watching the feeding times! The children's lab is full of bugs, reptiles, fish and birds.
Not the biggest zoo but they are expanding!!! Worth the visit for kids and grandkids.
This is a nice place to take this kids or even the kids at heart to come see the animals. It's not as large as some of the other large city zoo's but it's still a nice size for the area they have. Being in Miller Park be sure to check out the other things the park has to offer.
Wonderful small zoo. Kudos to the staff for keeping it clean and interesting!
Omg!!! My daughter took me the day before Mother's Day and it was Star Wars Day and we had an incredible time. I took 52 pics but sadly lost some due to a phone issue, but it truly was great!!!
Such a cute zoo. Tiger, snow leopards and wolves were my favorite. For sure kid friendly although mine did not come today.
Great small zoo for young children.
To be honest the zoo is great but they should stop scheduling so many school field trips in one day! Makes it over crowded and no fun for myself or my boys! Hard to really view animals and playground over crowded! Also would be great to have a consession stand or something.
Great place to go especially with grandkids!
What a great zoo! Perfect for our seven-month-old son.
Went for niece's wedding. Nice reception hall.
Fantastic variety of animals. Priced for everyone. And there is a sprinkler park close.
The kids and I really enjoyed this zoo. Very reasonable pricing and a great playground for bonus fun.
A bit of cleanup needed. Too bad people want to mess stuff up with graffiti.
Small zoo but still able to have lions and tigers. Has a nice assortment of animals.
I enjoyed the place. Good spot for kids.
Absolutely have a blast everytime we take the kids here
Great zoo wis; it was larget
We love this zoo! It's very small so if you are looking for somewhere to spend all day this isn't it but it's great for a morning or an afternoon! It's fairly clean and the animals seem perfectly happy
Nice little zoo. Well worth the price. Make sure to bring some quarters to feed some of the animals.
This place is amazing to bring the little ones to! We had a wonderful time! I highly recommend it to anyone!
As a family, we love Miller Park Zoo! A nice zoo, that isn't too big for the littles. Fed Budgies for $2.75 per person and it was well worth it! Be sure to take the kids to the huge park and splash pad outside after visiting the zoo!
Did not expect this zoo to be so nice. I spent a few hours there. Really enjoyed the rainforest exhibit. Then enjoyed a few hours walking around Miller park. Altogether, a very nice day. And ... it didn't break the bank.
This zoo had a very weak response when a minor threw a rock at a flamingo, so severely damaging the bird that the bird had to be euthanized. The minor who threw the rock should face charges, and his or her family should be forced to pay a substantial fine. Media reports quoting zoo officials made it seem that zoo officials don't really care that a visitor killed a harmless, innocent animal!!!
I love this zoo. Every time you go is a good time! It's a small zoo but it's ALWAYS fun and eventful. You can look on their website and find fun days. My daughter always loves getting her face painted.
A small zoo, but the price matches the size. A great place to walk around and see some animals. They have a small carousel to ride and opportunities to interact with the animals. Great for small kids. There's also a fantastic splash pad and playground free to the public just across the parking lot. Well worth the stop.
The park is small enough to get through with the kids in about an hour, but had enough to keep them entertained. It's always very clean and staff is great!
Cute little zoo! My partner and I had an great time here!
This is a fun little zoo. Our kids enjoyed it. The animals are very close but the price is a little high for the small amount of zoo it is. It is cool that they have a tiger and snow leopard when it is a smaller zoo. It's rare to see big cats like that in a small zoo. Plan time to spend in the amazing park in front of the zoo if you have kids. If you go in the summer bring a change of clothes or swim gear because they have a fantastic splash pad. The kids had just as much fun as the park and it's free.
Adorable zoo very reasonably priced the albino alligator is really cool beautiful property around the zoo splash pad an nice playgrounds. Help them raise money for the Xray machine to help the animals! All the staff is very knowledgeable about the animals and were very friendly with any questions. Henry the Cockatoo was hilarious on his perch.
Very clean, saw so many different exhibits. Very informative staff! Got to see them feed the tiger.
Not the biggest zoo, but still lots of cool exhibits to see. The prehensile tailed porcupine is my favorite and I always stop to visit him. The flamingos are really cool too. Really can't beat it for something cheap and local to do.
I've been visiting Miller Park Zoo for almost 40 years and, though it has evolved and improved, it has not lost the same warm, quaint, familiar spirit I remember from my childhood. The family membership is an excellent deal and should definitely be considered even if you only plan to visit a couple of times per year.
Just big enough for the kids to enjoy yet short enough for me to enjoy
I go again and again Love-ly place
Small Zoo but really diverse good for 2 hour trip
Love this zoo always been a favorite.
I loved this zoo. Went with my sons class so everything was kind of fast. I'm going again and enjoying myself. I loved the flamingo's. Very pretty and love watching them stand on 1foot forever.....LOL...#LOVEANIMALS
Good zoo for little kids. Not very big but lots of cool animals and you learn a lot. And it was cool they have a lot of baby animals right now.
Nice place to visit but there gift shop was a rip off!
Small home town zoo - the kids love it
Lots of variety of animals and continues to grow. Kids love carousel.
We love Miller Park Zoo. I went as a child and now I take my children. There are a wide variety of animals. It's great for all ages! The splash pad and playground are great top!
It’s just about the right size for little kids. I know Bloomington is struggling financially a bit, but those tiny cages are kind of depressing. Maybe State Farm would help. I believe I’ll ask and would encourage you to ask as well.
For a city of our size, this is a great zoo. Compact and educational.
Small zoo but clean and well kept.
Beautiful zoo. Not too big. Nice selection of animals.
The Miller Park Zoo is historic and relevant. From educated staff, endangered and exotic animals, I learn every time I visit. This is a Midwestern must see! You need to have a day date and of course bring the kids. Five stars.
It was fun seeing all the animals and the weather was just right for an outside activity. Enjoyed it very much.
We loved it...easy to find things...staff friendly and helpful
Good exhibits, nice walk through rain forest, loved the big cats and rhe monkeys, great to watch my 3 grandsons enjoying the different animals.
A lot of empty exhibits. The tropical world smells absolute horrid. The lion was really cool though. He was roaring and it was really cool!
This zoo doesn't have many animals and there isn't pop up shops to get a snack. It was disappointing that you could walk this whole zoo in a hour or less.
Great Zoo for a small town. I was shocked by the variety in wildlife. They even had a snow lepord.
Lovely smaller zoo. A perfect size for an hour or two with little ones, or a relaxed visit by yourself. Interesting mix of birds, reptiles, bugs, animals, in their exhibits. They don't always come out in all types of weather, but you are close enough to view them well when they aren't hiding or hunkered down somewhere. Don't miss the eagles, otters, flamingos...or any wild cats when in their outside exclosures. Goats, reindeer, red pandas, wallabies, etc. Tortoises too. Red wolves... Great time to be had here. Mostly recommended for comfortable times of the year as so many of them are outdoor exhibits. We never get here often enough. Always glad when we do.
I enjoyed this very much. Good explanation of the animals. Nice variety.
A great just the right size zoo for kids. Well cared for and interesting exhibits! Great location in the park with a super playground right near parking lot! Zoo workers really helpful sharing info like alligator making a nest and eggs expected in a couple of days.
For a smaller zoo there are a lot of great animals. I love the tiger. Wallaby walk is pretty cool, I've never seen anything like it. The porcupine is my favorite just because I've never seen one so active before. I've been multiple times. It's big enough that you can spend a few hours there and see everything but small enough where you don't get bored. Also, for a zoo it is really clean.
A charming little zoo with scheduled needing times for some of the animals, a small indoor rainforest, and a petting zoo.
Adorable animals, friendly staff, lots to do.
Friendly helpful staff, and a decent variety of animals for a small zoo. However, I would like a little more information and pictures about the animals.
Way better than I expected
It's a great local zoo.
Nice for the location and close to a park which is nice
Very friendly staff! Smaller than Stl but it still was amazing! I loved the animals, and they even seem to be healthy, which other zoos seem to not have.
Honestly I had so much fun visiting this place considering I wasn't sure what to expect. There's tons of exhibits to see. Great place to bring the kids or wife!
We spent a really nice weekend in town earlier in June. This is a nice zoo, well done, clean and a nice variety of animals. I loved the whole park here, so busy and much to watch. Will come back to explore further.
Nice little zoo to take the kids to, very reasonable, and you get closer to the animals than you do at most other zoos.
Great zoo. Had alot of fun!
Great zoo for being in a smaller community. Great diversity in species
Very nice smaller zoo! Enough so in some areas it feels more up close than most! In a safe way. Kids love it, I enjoyed it wasn't crowded with hoards of people, staff are friendly, happy to chat. The biggest animals here are the tiger and snow Leopard, beautiful! Cute smaller animals, birds, and 2 bald Eagles, as big as my 4yr old. No concessions, just vending machines, but it won't take all day long to go through. Picnic areas, in and out of the zoo, play area, and splash pad.
Kids love going here! Lots to do and see. The goose poop is a little ridiculous and makes it hard to walk around the lake.
Fantastic zoo! It was our first time there and we will certainly be back. Loved how the zoo keepers engaged with the animals while we were there!
haven't been to Miller Park in years looks different but nice
For a town the size of Bloomington-Normal, I am impressed with the zoo and the variety of animals! The bald eagles are so big!
Staff was very curtiouszo, the grounds are well kept. Its a great place tontake the kids for an outing, it not super crowded, there's not a hge selection of animals but it's still a great place to visit especially for the kids.
A little small for my taste in zoos, but it's a nice place.
One of my favorite little zoos! I love coming back again and again.
Very nice little Zoo. Has an outdoor water play area nearby, so kids can play after you tour the zoo and cool off. Very enjoyable!
Total waste of tax dollars keeping the wrong animals.... Boring
Very fun place to visit. The atmosphere was great and exhibits were well shown!
Great zoo! Our family enjoyed our visit. Reasonable prices.
Fun time as always. New Exhibit. Seal exhibit is now the American Crocodiles.
Great little zoo! We love that they have junior zookeeper's engaging with the children through education and animals. Zoo is clean and there is a wonderful variety of animals including big cats which are some of our favorites. Our little one loves the carousel. Concessions and gift shop available. Easy access to nice restrooms. Only complaint this time was due to construction in Miller Park, parking was a little trickier than usual.
It's rather small, but with a large variety of animals everywhere you look. Most exhibits are outside, but there are also indoor exhibits to cool off in on a hot day. Concessions and restrooms readily available. My only concern was limited parking. Overall, though, it makes for a great trip!
Great play ground! The is nice all also.
Nice little zoo and a great park right next door for the youngsters!
I've been coming to this zoo ever since I was little-- and I have never stopped loving it! The zookeepers are always very helpful and you can tell they really care alot about the animals! The grounds aren't especially expansive, but they're full of interesting and happy animals! If you're in Blo-No and looking for a fun way to kill a few hours, MPZ is perfect for you!
love this small zoo. perfect size kids dont get tired or bored an me either lol. staff ste anazing too
Staff was friendly, and the zoo seemed well kept
We really enjoyed ourselves The staff were very nice and helpful
A wide variety of animals and very clean and well maintained.
This was my first time to visit the Miller Park Zoo. It is a small zoo good for an afternoon visit. My family and I decided to take a day trip to visit here. It has some cool animals. Our favorite part was probably the Wallaby area. There is a path you walk on with a short knee high wooden fence. The Wallaby aren’t in cages. They are out roaming around. Very cool to see and be that close to them. I also like that they had a small petting area with some goats and such. It’s worth a visit.
Nice place to meet up with friends. Kids get a big kick out of it. Nice variety.
The best of it all ,a beautifully kept Zoo, surrounded by a beautiful Park, with a beautiful Lake and really nice paddle boat facility lots of fun for all ages. a must do .
Very small zoo but its clean and the kids liked it
Loved this Zoo, very clean and Animals looked well looked after,.A must do if you are in the area!
Very nice small zoo.
Grandkids enjoy visiting the zoo here.
The Tiger was out & moving! (Well licking himself)Finally after 3 years, they love that sun after the winter. Otters and kitties were cool, u get what u pay for, and we're lucky to have a Zoo at all here I feel some days.... Usually reminds me that I'm helping kill the Earth and wildlife slowly as humans bloat to 8.5 Billion globally
Our granddaughters loved the zoo. All the animals were very friendly and curious too. We especially liked the otters. We also liked the merry go round. We give the zoo two thumbs up!
Went on a school trip. The facility was very clean and staff was willing to answer the kids questions
I love this zoo but I wasn't there 2 weeks ago hmmm
We are fortunate to have such a wonderful community resource as this.
Great zoo! It is a very fair price for all they have to offer!!! Many interesting animals and great exhibits. Zoo keepers overall were friendly, they knew enough to answer our questions. We will go back in the future!
Needs more space. Nice small zoo
A great variety of animals. My son enjoyed himself.
We love this zoo!! We come from a city where the zoo is about the same size, but about three times more expensive and far less fun. The great things about this zoo- wide variety of animals to see, prices are incredibly reasonable, the carousel is great fun for little ones, the exhibits are set up so that you can see almost every animal quite well, and the feedings are SO fun. Highly recommend you prioritize the seal and otter feedings, they're awesome! Staff is friendly and helpful.
