This Zoo is classified in the category of Pumpkin patch.
My son is 2 and he was the perfect age. His favorites were the train and the petting zoo! We have also been getting the mums there for years they are the best anywhere! The gift shop also has cute decorations too. We love it!
Came here last year when my daughter was about 1. She had a fun time even though she was little. We got to enjoy the animals, we got pumpkins and enjoyed the bakery there! My daughter is now 2 and I’m happy to say we will be going this year again, I can’t wait to enjoy this trip more now that my daughters a little bit older!
Love this place. We have been taking our kids every year for several years now and they always have a great time. Always have great deals through Groupon. There’s a ton of stuff for the kids to do. Petting zoo, hayrides, corn maze, bouncy houses and the best apple cider donuts around! Highly recommend this place for a fun fall family outing.
Love it.
Great experience for pumpkin patch and kids birthday.
Animals need a better care and just over all everything needs an improvement! I spend 1 hr there n was ready to leave w my two kids.
Cute, but way to pricey for what you get.
I love going here! I have so many amazing memories here from my childhood and now I get to bring my kids here! Love the animals! Fall means Johansen Farms!
Read a lot of great reviews Never been hope to visit soon to get a great experience for my daughter and family
Can’t wait to go back
Apple pie, apple cider, apple cider donuts, pumpkins, fun for the whole family, there's not much else you could ask for when you're looking for fall fun! We love this place and can't wait to get back!
I witnessed abuse today from the train conductor toward a family. It was so horrible that my family and I decided to leave. He yelled and even kind of pushed their toddler to stop him from choosing a seat. That should be a crime. Horrible place! My family and friends will not come here again. We all usually buy Groupons and come every year. We are done.
Go to Bengtson's instead! They charged full price for a 24 months old ($13.50). Pigs had no water even though it was a hot day. Staff was rude. Place is not maintained very well. Definitely not coming back and supporting this.
Absolutely love it! There is so much to do and my parents used to take me when I was a child and now I take my own children there. They especially love the pony rides!
This farm was very dirty and there was nothing fun to explore, there were only some chicks ,goats ,birds and pigs not all animals could be fed from hand and the bouncy houses were very dirty.Rather then going to this farm you should go ahead and visit the Bengstons Farm, or The yellow river farm
We absolutely LOVE Johansen's! We've been going since the kiddos were little. They have the best pony rides and animals, miniature train ride, etc. It's a blast for the little ones! Highly recommend!
Overpriced merchandise, unfriendly employees, sad animals. Why would I want to return?
Omg love this place. We have gone every year since my daughter was a baby. They have so much for the little ones to do and the doughnuts are amazing.
Great pumpkin patch. My kids love it there.
Employees were rude. My son is either too short or too tall to get on pretty much anything. Never coming back again.
We use to come here all the time when we were younger. I'm not happy about the fact that there wasn't pony rides when we went. Apparently they aren't everyday. They have soo many animals. It's a petting zoo and pumpkin farm all together. So you get to enjoy the best of both worlds.
Its a farm and animal are dirty, these reviews are stupid. The price is great compared to other places I've gone to and there is a ton to do with blow up slides and tons of animals. Anyone who has gone to other farms in the area not in bufu knows how much they charge. They don't have too much during the week cause there are few people that go there it makes no sense to have everything. I like it during the week, few people means the kids can do more and take their time and I don't worry about them getting lost. They once spent a half hour on one blow up slide without anyone else using it. No one forces you to buy anything so if you think the pumpkins are too expensive go somewhere else. FYI they are. So is the Pie and in taste it is hit and miss. I had a great pie and I had a bad pie. Bottom line, it's dirty cause it's a farm, it's cheap in comparison, it's fun, and if you ever went to a real farm you know animals get hurt and where I come from they then get eaten.
Came on a field trip. My daughter loved it. Def bringing the whole family.
Love coming here every year with my family ♡ very much enjoyed!
Good entertainment with kids for a day
Love going to Johansen farm with my children for the fall season they love feeding the animals and choosing their favorite pumpkin as well as the apple pie
We have been coming here every year for the last 6 years with our granddaughter. We love to take pictures of her in the pumpkin patch as well as in the big photo area which lets us see how much she grows each year. She absolutely loves holding the baby chicks, feeding the goats and spends hours on the slide. We finish our day there with hot chocolate and those delicious apple cider donuts
This was my first time here and we had a great time. Brought my 1yr old grandson and he really enjoyed it. Went during a weekday, nice and relaxing not crowded. We got to see a lot of animals and enjoy some of the rides. Halloween stuff was nice and they had lots of different size pumpkins. Everyone seemed to very nice and helpful! Excited to go back before the close for the season
Very bad. I came 4 years ago and everything still exactly the same, the don't give any maintenance. The place is bored and the employees are rude
I love this place!!!!!! It has pumpkins of all sizes and HUGE beautiful mums of many different colors!!!! The store is filled with awesome decorations for inside and outside of your home. And dont forget about the Apple Cider Donuts that are so fresh they are usually still warm when you buy them. Plus the fresh baked pies are to die for!!! They also have a wide variety jams, jellies, salsa, butter, and syrups!! And if your looking for local honey, they sell pure honey from apiary in Naperville. My kids absolutely LOVE coming here as well since there is a childrens zoo equipt with large inflatable slides, corn maze, train & hay rides, and miniature golf!! Plus the picture room is amazing for taking those fall pictures we all love!
I would not go back. Don't waste your money. Admission is ridiculously over priced. The animals are not taken care of. If you go during the week everything is out of service, no pony rides, hay rides, ect. If you like paying $70 for a pumpkin...this might be the place for you. Staff is rude.
Love bringing the family here for a fun fall day of festivities!!!
Worst pumpkin patch I have been to. You would think with all the money they pull in they would invest some of it into proper facilities. Port a potties are some of the nastiest ever. I don't know if they are ever cleaned. You can't put in bathrooms??? it was cold today and there was no where to warm up. There were multiple buses full of kids on field trips and everyone was miserable. Grannies kitchen is a joke, its wide open for the wind to cut through. No windows closed or door. On top of it they had one person working and you had to stand in line for twenty minutes. Never again. Place should be shut down.
Girl scout night was terrible. Full price admission for a 2 year old. No maps provided. Staff was rude, my daughter wanted to leave within the first 20 minutes. Waste of time and money. Seriously do not waste your time and money. Couldn't see the animals, rides were closed. Never again!
Best place fol little kids!
Fun... but very expensive. If they could only find a way to NOT charge an adult to accompany their child into their festivities area.... that would be a big help.
Love it’s enjoy walking With my children’s and I love order apple pies
Last year we had so much fun and we took great pictures and my son bought his first pumpkin. It was our first time trying the apple cider donuts and let’s just say I look forward to this time of year just for that. But idk what happened this year but I went just for the donuts today and the girl at the register was rude and threw the pen and receipt at me and then the guy who walked in behind me got a nice friendly welcome, some lady kept staring at me and my son but that’s not even the funny part . Walked through the store part and I love Halloween and sugar skulls etc and I was planning on buying a few things and as I turn and look all I see is the lady at check out watching me and my son like a hawk with a blank stare on her face. Seriously 5 other people walked through and she never looked at anyone else but us. I’m going to just blindly assume it was for some other reason other than race maybe I had a spider on my head or something on my face but def lost out on a sale..If I was some little kid running around causing a problem then maybe that would have been necessary but seriously just put a sign on the register that says no brown people allowed! I’ll feel better at least that was instead of this lady staring at me like I was some kind of criminal but oh well. Got my donuts and coffee and I’m good. 3 stars for the experience I had last year and the donuts
I had a wonderful experience today! I felt like I was away in the country. It’s a nice feeling being from the city. I loved the animals and Everyone was so nice!
We LOVE Johansen’s! We have made it a yearly tradition since our son was a year old, he’s almost 6!! The staff is friendly and inviting and the donuts are AMAZING! It’s a fall favorite for sure!!
My son's favorite place is the "pumpkin patch". He asks a ll year if it is fall yet so we can go! The hardest part is deciding which activity to do first and how long we can stay. Perfect place for fall family fun!
HUGE disappointment. 1st they were rude to my Marine Corps vet husband and would not give him the military discount, even with proof of service. What a disgrace to veterans. Then, everything there was broken or closed. Pony rides- closed, bounce houses- ALL deflated, food stand- closed. Everyone who worked there seemed angry. To end our horrid trip here, my daughter was bitten by a goat and it drew blood. The jerk at the "first aid" station yelled at us to go wash it off at the port o potty station. They have no real sinks, and this guy apparently has no compassion for a 3 year old girl who is bleeding. His yelling scared her. We will NEVER be returning. Don't waste your money, go to Bengstons Farm; it's truly 1000% better.
First time here. Yes I read the reviews first but thought it was just a bunch of complainers....not so. Horses haven't been brushed in months or more. Geese had broken wings and ruffled feathers, all the pens were filthy and looked uncared for. Admission was 13.50 person plus had to buy food to feed their animals. Suggested that if we return I'd bring a broom and dust pan to sweep up and give the food to the animals. Ordered 3 hot ciders.... was barely Luke warm at best. But I doubt we will ever return. This place should either closed or taken over by someone that cares. By the way..... went to Sonny Acres (West Chicago) weekend before and paid nothing to enter and animals and entertainment was by far better.
This place is uneventful and over priced. Spent $60 for family of four and was not impressed at all. The staff also tends to be rude and uninviting and for the price that's unexceptionable. I did not enjoy this experience and would not return. Wish I could get a refund the moment I walked in.
We bought 2 large pumpkins here last week and even before we could carve them they started developing rotten spots and fungus. They look fine on top but are rotten inside. Dont get fooled in buying pumpkins here. We also tried the apple pie and pumpkin pie but both tasted average.
Tricky place to be delivering to this place.. got to use second entrance and only be driving West.. they fast unloading.. but then use the middle closer to farm exit
Don't come today, every school in the city is here, I took the day off in the week to bring my family and it is awful here with 35 school buses here
My kids had a splendid time interacting with the variety of farm animals. Big plus that the farm offers rides, a maze, jump houses and slides ! They also offer pies and donuts for sale which are very delicious! Our family also gets to have a memorable photo with the pumpkin decor outdoors.
love it here. so much to do. prices are good. food is great. the workers are all so nice and helpful. lots of places to make great memories and take pictures. smiles everywhere. we love the animals rides everything one price. buying pumpkins and decorating is fun too
Havent been here in years but looking forward to now taking my own children to experience it...
Place is a dump, with rude staff and poorly treated animals. Owners couldn't care less because the value of the land this place is on is probably worth a fortune that just goes up in price every year. Hope they sell the place and it gets turned into houses. Avoid.
It's at tradition! The price for admission is very reasonable the children have a fantastic fun fall day! So do we adult's and now enjoy meeting and seeing friends there!
13.50$ per Person including children is a rip-off for this carelessly maintained place.
I used to take my three daughters to this farm when they were young, they always enjoyed it. I now have a granddaughter who loves animals. Last Saturday I took her and her mother, I was disgusted, the staff were rude and the animals were very neglected. The pens had not been cleaned, their water was green and moldy, there was garbage in the pens and the animals needed grooming. To top it all off there were dead rabbits laying on the ground which is when my granddaughter asked why was there red and pink things in there. I will NEVER go there again. The cost of the entrance should help maintain the farm and feed the animals as they should be. This entry was not put on here by my husband, it was me - his wife.
Great place for all ages!
This place was very dirty, garbage everywhere and the bathrooms were so gross. I also felt like the animals were neglected..not very much to do. I drove over an hour to get there and I was very disappointed.
went there last year with my little boy. we enjoyed alot & we r ready to this year too....
Been coming here with my kids for Halloween pictures for over a decade! A true family run gem. Wait all year long for the unbelievable apple cider donuts!! And great pies too.the super friendly staff is great to
Every year for the Fall Festival. Pumpkin patch is Wonderful' Perfect for the whole family..
Great place to go to get pumpkins, good taffy apples or even flowers to brighten up the outside of your house. The petting zoo is always fun for the kids especially the baby chicks or the goats. Great place to go with your family.
A very nice pumpkin patch. Kids have a blast. The bathrooms aren't the best but everything else is nice. They have pies and homemade icecream with 3 flavors.
Really nice my kids had a great time. I will definitely come back again
I remember going to Johansen farms every year with my grandparents and then I moved away and every year I would come up here to bring my kids with my grandparents (angelo parzialli & Maxine Russell) now my grandparents are gone and I would love to bring my grandchildren so that they can have all the fun and exciting memories that I had.
(Translated by Google) This place is cool to spend with your family (Original) Esta chido este lugar para pasarlo en familia
I got in around 6pm, everything was closed. No animals, no people. It was just me and my 2 year old. We took amazing pictures by the pumpkin patch and flowers. No rides, staff was just staring at us for some reason, the place was pretty boring. No entertainment or any Honestly, if you want to have fun and see little pigs, chickens and ponies this isn’t the best place. It said online their nursery is closed so I didn’t bother going, but I got at 6 pm and there were no animals! It says they close at 7 pm!!! But they were all closed early. Anyways I wouldn’t go back. I just went to take Instagram pictures.
Someone knows how much they charge. to enter
It's all about the baby chicks!
Love seeing my grandkids smile when we visit the farm. Priceless! They like seeing the variety of animals and playing in the farm. Looking forward to going again!
Great family location. One price for all activities. LOVED having our toddler touch and see farm animals.
Fun place with lots of great activities for the kids. Love how it's not overwhelming like other pumpkin patches. Lots of nice areas to take beautiful fall pics and the mums here are amazing. Havent been there in a couple years but plan on visiting pretty soon!
Had a ball
Worst pumpkin farm ever!! AVOID and do NOT waste your time or money! Overpriced and not worth it at all! Animals are neglected and look sick. The toddler area is a joke. It only has 3 dirty inflatables. Not much to do! If I could I would give it no stars!
What a nice place to visit with the family. Close to our home and many different animals to see. The attractions are always a hit for my little ones too. Apple cider donuts are a must right before we leave.
This place is lots of fun. We bring our kids every year and they always have a great time. The prices are affordable and there's lots to do for youngsters.
Family friendly loved going before October is a lot less crowded.
Personally if you like and care about animals you should not pay to go here. Animals were all very uncared for, and most had very little or very dirty water. The price to get in is outrageous for the minimal activities. All of the inflatable were very poorly watched besides the "Pooh Park". You would think that a business like this would ha e employees watching these attractions as they could be dangerous. We went to Goebbert's the week before and didn't have to pay for my 2 yr old, I find 13.50 for a child to be quite expensive, the animals were much more clean and the employees were infinitely more helpful and nice. It was cheaper, they had a bigger assortment of good, edible & decorative, and a much larger selection of pumpkins. I will not be back to Johansens!
Great family fun!
This place is lots of fun for the kids. My girls love coming here every year. All the staff is super friendly.
If there zero I will put for them very small very bad farm and rude workers they not let my son to jump in the Pooh because he’s is 2 inch over 42 inches it was empty no one playing there don’t waste your money for nothing just go to homer glen farm
If you care about animals do not go here. Kids are allowed to hold baby chicks and multiple have died this year from being dropped. The farm has done nothing to prevent this from happening. In fact, all they do is segregate the injured in a covered box and wait for them to die. I am all for kids learning about animals, but this is the wrong way to do it.
My family has visited Johansen Farms every year since I was a child! I am 27 now with my own child and have continued our tradition of farm fun every year! This will be my child’s third year visiting and he asks every day to go! We take family photos in the adorable pumpkin patch (we love the red fence in the background), we pet and feed the animals, we cuddle baby chicks, and we explore all of the fun fall activities! Lastly, we have to take home a box of apple cider donuts! They are our favorite! We love Johansen Farms!
I love this place, many options of pumpkins, Fall mums, Halloween decorations,Apple Cider Donuts & The pies!!! Yum yum!!! I would take my daughter there every year as a child and we have still continued the tradition as she is now almost 22 yrs old!! We plan on still keeping the tradition when she has babies!!! I wish I could post a pic.. just to show as adults we still keep a tradition going!!!
Beautiful place to be with your family and kids.
Went here with my family, one of the only places around the area where you can get your fall fix! Pumpkins, Apple Cider Donuts, Pies, Caramel Apples, etc. They have activities for the kids that you pay for but my kids were so into the hundreds of pumpkins. Easy parking even though it's a gravel lot. Wagons for you to pull around and shop with. Pumpkins were only about .43 cents a pound.
Great Fall family fun!
We've taken my 2 year old son to quite a few Pumpkin Patches this year. and this one was the worst. They actually charged full admission for my 2 year old. He is let in for free at every other one. Had to pay 25 cents to get 5-10 kernels of corn to feed the animals that looks poorly taken care of.
This place is awesome! I'm surprised everyone doesn't leave a 5 star review. My kids love to feed and pet the animals, especially the chicks and goats.
Great place to take the kids! We go annually and enjoy it every time!
Pretty fun for kids and for parents watching their kids playing
Went Tuesday Oct 17 around 3pm. The place is probably more fun for running/talking toddlers than infants/1yr olds. We had an ok time (went with my 14mo old son, friend, and her 10mo old daughter). They need some sort of map to let you know where the activities are in order to make sure you hit all the spots. Admission to the zoo covers all activities but you have to search for the activities yourself... hardly any signs. Maybe will go back in a year and see if the kids have more fun when they are a little older.
Nice that beautiful places like this are still around!!
Fun for all ages. It keeps getting better every year and I’ve been going for 20 + years. My family looks forward to visiting.
Fantastic for all ages! We love this place. So much to do and such a fun happy atmosphere. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to go back again with the whole family.
The bathrooms are HORRIBLE! This is a place where small children are the majority or the population you would think they would have better port a pottys (they have really nice ones now). I had a student poop himself because he thought the bathrooms were too disgusting to sit down on. It's like 5 bathrooms in the whole place. My daughter has special needs, and requires assistance toileting, I could never bring her here.
I love coming here! My kids always have a great time here. I love the train and the size of the place! There's plenty to do with a three and four year old. They also have nice pumpkins and various seasonal gifts and decorations available from the farm. Definitely will be back!
We love visiting Johansen! Our toddler loves the bounce houses and inflatable slide as well as all of the animals. Feeding the goats and holding the baby chicks is a must. The apple cider donuts are also delicious, and Johansen’s has the best pick of pumpkins by far, and for reasonable prices.
We love to pick up the baby chicks!
I love this farm, it’s so fun seeing the baby chicks, we always buy a whole pie to take home. The train ride and hayride is a must do. So many animals to see and the place is so friendly. So many photo opportunities too.
