You will be able to see the information of real people like you who used the services and products of Binder Park Zoo (Zoo) in Indiana.
Right now the business has a rating of 4.5 over 5 and the rating is based on 3257 reviews.
You must have seen that the average of ratings is basically the highest, and it's based on a large number of scores, so we can conclude that the valuation is very reliable. If many people have bothered to value when they are pleased, is that it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to set scores when they are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Zoo is classified in the category of Zoo.
Feeding Giraffes is the highlight. It has a lot of cool areas set up to look like an Arican safari. The food is pricey of course. The experience is great. There's a transport or a long walk and there is a train for fun. You can feed llamas and goats (and pet and brush them). No touchy the llama though. There's a cool area when you walk through, there's flags above. I was very surprised at how nice it is compared to other zoos in Michigan. I highly recommend especially for little ones. Our 2 year old enjoyed everything. They even have a playground area and several statues for kids to sit on and take pictures.
Excellent zoo for such a smaller town like Battle Creek! Beautiful park with lots of shade so your family doesn't roast on a sunny day. The variety in animals is impressive and the zoo is very clean and easy to get around. We love the zebra tram that takes you back to the Africa exhibit. The carousel is also a favorite.
The zoo has a really good set up. The trails & animal exhibits were super neat. The best part were the areas that the kids were able to interact with animals. They were able to walk with the goats, pet donkeys & feed and pet the giraffes! 5 Stars for sure!!
Nice zoo. Well kept up, clean for both visitors and the animals. All sorts of things for little ones through adults to do. The pavilions for lunches and groups where nice to take a break at for having lunch from home.
Overpriced children at $12.50. Best exhibits too long a walk especially to seniors. Road not stroller friendly gravel. Waste of time and money. Cup of ice cream should not be $5. Will no go again or recommend.
Fine but got lost several times n face to face with Lion. behind glass ha. 400+ acres! Largest in la mitton Mich.
Love this place. Inexpensive afternoon if you're looking for something to do.
Natural setting, beautiful grounds, reasonable prices. And you can get so close to the animals. Great place for all ages
Nice animals with large habitat which makes them hard to sometimes see - and large fences are issues for small kids. Animals are spread out so a LOT of walking with nothing but trees to look at. Does not allow for picnicking inside zoo and activities are expensive. Great to visit once a year but not a 'go often' place in my opinion.
Had a great overnight camping with the scouts. Zoo facilities were so so, but the zoo staff that hosted us was incredible. They did so many activities for the kids, it was great.
Such a great zoo! I love all the peacocks walking around everywhere, the opportunity to feed the giraffes, and the realistic-appearing enclosures. The amount of shade was great too, considering how hot it got when we were there!
Had a great time with the family and very friendly staff. Was a lot of fun feeding the giraffes!!
So lucky to have this zoo!! It's truly like going through a safari!! Fun, face painting great variety of animals, clean and not to expensive! Takes about 3 hours to see it all if you actually stop to take it all in.
So much fun! More like a wildlife sanctuary than a typical zoo. Love the Africa exhibit and feeding the giraffes!!!
This place is a diamond in the ruff. It may not be a well known zoo but it is well worth the money. It has a few animals that you can pet and feed. The walking trails are very easy to manage with a stroller. It is also very kid-friendly lots of stuff for young kids to do and see. Prices for food are on the higher side but you have to think they are using the money to build a bigger and better experience. Thank you Binder Park Zoo.
My son and I absolutely ADORE coming to the zoo! He's adjusted to going on the tram to and from Africa, and he loves the giraffes, turtles, and monkeys, but especially loves Eliza, the Southern Ground Hornbill. We always feel welcomed when we go, and we bought a 2 year family membership after our first visit with him.
Always a great time. Animals are well taken care of and staff is friendly.
A nice, but small zoo. Good for bringing the kids, but I wouldn't recommend people ride the train in the petting zoo. Other then that, a modest recommendation.
AIM Asphalt supports our local zoo! We are lucky to have such a great zoo in Battle Creek!
This was different than we had anticipated. But not bad. The enviroments are more built around the woods and not specified to the animals. Again not bad just not expected.
Decided to make a day trip to see the zoo. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The zoo had several nice features, reminiscent of the Wild Animal Park in San Diego (on a smaller scale). The exhibits were spacious and provided more opportunity to see animals roam. The giraffe feeding was great fun for both of my kids, they loved the chance the zoo afforded them. The walking path was well laid-out, with plenty of informative props and stylistic choices. It was a lot of fun to walk around, it took us about 3 hours to see everything, but it could be hard if you struggle with slopes and dirt paths, much of the "Africa" section was gravel paths.
Great family fun! We like to go once a year and it's always a great value for money and good time with family. There are usually guides out with smaller animals so you can have up close encounters. Peacocks everywhere which the kids love. I like the swamp trail myself, just to enjoy nature. Drinks/snacks are same price as any other outing.. a little overpriced. The dining hall food is not so great. I would recommend packing a picnic and eating at one of the benches. Something for everyone
This was a great place to take the kids. The park was clean, the animals looks well cared and it was a nice relaxed atmosphere.
While in Kalamazoo we visited the zoo on advice of our friends. It's a nice zoo but there is a lot of walking between exhibits.
I went there and enjoyed it very much. But, I was very frustrated by how difficult it was to locate and walk to the free tram, which takes you to the main part of the zoo to see many animals. There was little signage. The map did not help that much. And it was a long walk, at least a half mile. Most people had young children with them, who seemed to enjoy it very much. Difficult for people who can not walk far.
This is THE BEST zoo I've ever been to. The African safari was incredible! So many beautiful animals and very affordable.
There was a lot to see and do for such a reasonable price. The bathrooms were not kept very well though and the train ride was not worth the money and wait. Spent about 5 hours here and only missed out on a few exhibits.
The new Africa expansion is awesome, you'll love it.
the atmosphere is calm, there is a lot of shade through the zoo so you're not baking in the sun while going through the exhibits, and parking and exiting are a breeze.
Binder Park Zoo is one of Battle Creek's greatest assets and an asset to all of Southwest Michigan. It is a very natural setting and a great place for the animals to live. The walk and experience you have with nature there is amazing. I love the snow leopard, wolves, bears, zebras, giraffes, llamas, lemurs, and much more. It is a great experience to go back again and again.
Great place. Enjoyed the experience of seeing many animals. We LOVED seeing the Giraffes mostly but really liked seeing everything. The most sadly part of the whole experience is the cost of something to DRINK. I mean really 3.50 for a pop and 3.00 for WATER. I believe that if the drinks were between 1 to 2.50 then they would sell much more. The food was a little high as well. If they keep the prices down, more people would be able to buy and not bring their own. The question is: Would we go back ? Yes, But would bring a cooler with food and drinks.
Great zoo for being off of the beaten path. If you enjoy walking then this will be an enjoyable place to visit. Spent roughly 4 hours here and saw most everything. The safari trail is worth the visit.
Went there yesterday and was wildly disappointed. The admission is reasonable but the food prices are absolutely outrageous. 7$ for a grilled cheese sandwich was a shock to see. To feed a giraffe a single piece of lettuce was 2$. Aside from that there were 6 exhibits closed or the animals were off display. There was no staff to keep order and consequently people abusing the animals. Chasing peacocks and throwing food into the monkey cages. A huge complaint would be the .8 mile walk for all the African exhibits was not handicapable accessible. I'm also very very upset at the conditions the animals are kept in. Most have enclosures far too small for them to thrive. I wont ever be back to this zoo.
First time here in many years. I must say I enjoyed it for the most part. The few things I didn't like which is the reason for the rating, Some exhibits were down (weather was sunny and 73 degrees), some enclosures looked lacking in care (Canadian lynx was one), and the bald eagles were way away from everything else, at the end of a worn out wooden path, half under water. For our nation's bird, you'd think they'd be more of a spot light animal. As a proud veteran and American, I was disappointed in this. Everything else was great tho.
Don't go there when you're hungry because the food is definitely not part of their concern. Everything else was wonderful though.
This is by far our favorite zoo! We call it a nature zoo because it's beautifully nestled between trees and forest life. The employees are so caring and proud and it's evident in the cleanliness, helpfulness, and friendliness you see.
Love this zoo! Lots of animals and you get to feed the giraffes. Plus they have a few dinosaur statues and my son is obsessed with dinosaurs
Nice little zoo the really makes the most, and provides a really nice time, without a huge menagerie. Staff are friendly, the park is immaculate, the views of the animals clear. Prepare to walk alot. Concessions are ok... Worth a short trip to see.
My family had alot of fun at this zoo. I love that the zoo is located in the woods so you get the shade from the trees and a nice wilderness setting.
Lovely park, like walking along a forest trail with animals along the way
Visited old friends and made some new aquaintences. The Zebu has long been my wife's favorite. I am impressed with how well the boardwalk has held up. We were there when it was being built. 20 years of growth has covered all of the construction from our first years at the zoo. We miss the Ravens. The owls that have taken the exhibit space are nice, but the Ravens had character. The best surprize was seeing my wife's face when she saw that the giant ant was still there. She bought it for $200.00. At the time she was told it wouldn't be popular enough to support the expense. Over the years the ant has been painted many times. It needed it to cover the spots where thousands of children have sat on it to get their picture taken and worn the paint away. The staff is as friendly as ever. They were happily handing out lettuce for the giraffe feeding station. The giraffes were just as happily eating every bit.
Enjoyed going to a different zoo, different animals, can feed the giraffes, peacocks roam around freely. Nice atmosphere.
Beautiful zoo! Variety of animals, hands on opportunities, kind and approachable staff, clean park. Wonderful place for families!
My daughter had fun. She did point out that some of the animals looked sad ☹️. I myself am hopeful that the enclosures for the animals will some day be bigger. I feel that the zoo's priority should enlarging the "habitats" of the all animals that currently call Binder Park home. Staff was very friendly.
Great place for all ages! Tons of animals...even a petting zoo with goats, pony's,donkeys, and llamas. Train ride for $3...and a concession stand that is not too over priced.
It's a fun family adventure for everyone involved friendly staff great entertainment you and the whole family will love so stop on in
Great zoo. Very accessible for people with disabilities. Amigo rental available & can access everything. Strollers are easily accomasared. Wonderful for kids of all ages. The souviner cup is a good value especially since it can be used all season.

The park is clean and well laid out. Easy walking with some inclines. I understand that there are great expenses involved in taking care of the animals but, the food here is crazy expensive.
I loved how this zoo had a lot of trails and animals spread about. It made you feel like you were in the wild instead of a public place.
Great zoo. We had lots of fun. My son loves train.
This was a very pleasant experience for the whole family. The entire staff were very polite and welcoming and the cost of everything was very reasonable. Me and my family were very pleased with out trip to the zoo and will return again.
Honestly the best zoo I've been to they take real pride and joy in keeping their zoo such a beautiful place.
Literally my favourite zoo. My oldest practically grew up there. Has an African safari/ exhibit that makes you feel like you're there.
It is a great family place. Fun full day outing. Our favorite part was getting to feed the giraffes but there was so much more and it's such a wide open zoo and so cost effective. I love it!
Binder Park Zoo was great ! Loved the way the zoo was set up. The animals all looked healthy and had plenty of room. My granddaughter loved feeding the giraffes. Every staff member I encountered was pleasant and very kind. I'd love to go back again.
Had a great day but be prepared for a walk even when taking the tram or train. The animals have such huge areas (NO CAGES!) That you cover alot of ground between habitat areas. Wear GOOD hiking shoes.
Seems like every time I come to binder park zoo they always add something new! One of the best zoo's in Michigan!
A very different zoo setup from what I'm used to seeing. Was really sweet how they integrated the wooded area into the exhibits. The African exhibit is worth the price of admission all its own!! Wil definitely be visiting again!!
Just the right size zoo. Ample shade while walking, well taken care of, and we were able to clearly see every animal in their habitat. Feeding the giraffes has always been my favorite part.
We love coming here. Always have a great time. The zoo is fairly shady so that's a perk when it's hot out.
It's a big zoo and there is something for everyone. You could definitely spend the entire day here.
I was used to OLD Binder Park. We’d have picnics there, walk the trails, play by the small dam. After I graduated from high school, the NEW park arrived as the Binder Park Zoo made its debut. What an amazing change! It is a remarkable institution, and could justifiably be considered Battle Creek’s pride and joy. It is one of the largest zoos in the state, and they have used the space well. There is an elevated trail with a giraffe-feeding platform, and a train for children. My own kids loved the train, and the petting zoo generally. Binder Park has continued to develop exhibits and programs that are interesting and enjoyable. It’s always fun.
It's a solid zoo. It is not too expensive, and with the animals they have, I'd say it's more than fair. The strongest part of the zoo is definitely the Africa portion. It is a half mile from the main portion, but they provide a ride if you would prefer. It's nice for families as well. It is a fairly linear layout, so you will do plenty of walking. There are a few downsides. It can get crowded when the weather's nice, so try to plan your visits well. There are plenty of interactive exhibits for kids, but adults don't have many options without shelling out some extra cash. All in all, I would recommend this zoo. It's a pleasent experience worth the money. While I'm sure some of the fondness I have for the zoo stems from nostalgia, I do believe it is a good visit.
Always love seeing the animals. Always have a great experience with the giraffes. Staff is really nice and knows best when it comes to the animals. Overall, I love this place and basically grew up going here a lot.
Natural settings. Lots of trees and foliage so it wasn't too terribly hot. Animals looked in great shape. Feeding the giraffes was amazing!
Great zoo but be prepared for lots of walking. Pretty pricey also. If you have a membership at another reciprocal zoo that will save you 50%.
Great day yesterday at Binder Park Zoo. This is the second time I have gone there. It wasn't too busy and tons of natural shade. I like how close we can get to the animals. You can pet many of them like the giraffes, llamas and barnyard animals. My fov is feeding the giraffes. The animals are very well cared for and look in great condition. (I am a farmer. Some were a little overfed.) The signs for the animals were very educational. Everything was clean. Bathrooms were clean. Food at the restaurant was good. The only minor suggestion I would give is that I wish the tables in the food area were wiped down more often. Our family had a great time walking through the natural areas from animals to animals. If I lived closer, I would volunteer to help with the gardens and talk to people about conservation and local efforts.
I always enjoy my time here.
Great zoo animals were happy. The fountain refill stations were all out of order. Was not told untill i had already paid for my "refill cup" we ended up putting water in a $7 empty cup
Had a few awesome exhibits with up close experiences. Kids loved it.
Very nice, natural zoo. Highly recommend a visit if you're in the area. We're from 2 hours away and enjoyed the visit. Entrance price was reasonable compared to other zoos and offers membership. If you're from the area, would suggest that route!
Me and my family always have a great time at the zoo. My youngest grandson loves to come to zoo anytime we have the chance.
This zoo it's showing it's age, and admission seems expensive for what you get. In "Africa", there are long walks between animals, many animals are really far away and hard to see, and really the only highlight is feeding the giraffes, with the most expensive lettuce you've ever bought... It can be a long wait for the tram, as there is only one and it only has two cars... In the other more traditional part of the zoo the animals are closer and easier to see... Again seems like not a lot for the price of admission...
Nice zoo. Clean. I like the setting in the trees. Exhibits are all good size so the animals have room to move. I only wish you Did not charge 3:50 for a pop. Everything in this place is expensive so if you go plan on spending a lot of money.
We went here for a Girl Scouts overnight trip, and the employees were amazing! We had so many hiccups due to natural causes, beyond anyone's control, and they made sure we were taken care of. We came back with our family later and they all enjoyed it! The favorite part was definitely feeding the giraffes, such an incredible experience!
Wonderful layout. Fun half day trip. Worth every second.
Surprisingly it's good. I wasn't expected so much. It definitely make the drive worth
We were really impressed with this zoo! We will be coming back when we are close to the area. We loved feeding the giraffes! Excellent zoo!! The train ride was awesome if you have kiddos that love trains.
What a fantastic zoo. It's really nice how close you can get to a vast majority of the animals. My kids had a blast feeding and petting the giraffes. The big cats are literally just on the other side of the glass. The zoo was very well laid out and the facilities were exceptionally clean.
So fun! Feed the giraffes! Make friends with the lemurs. They didn't want us to leave, haha!
I absolutely have always loved binder park zoo. Its clean and everything is labeled great so you know where you're going. The petting zoo part is so cute! The goats are just adorable and I love that you can feed them. We didn't get to see many exhibits because we had to leave early, not because of anything to do with the zoo though. What we did get to see was nice. I just wish we would've made it to wild Africa. But we will go back and see everything. I tried to get pictures and I know some are blurry and the sloth is not easy to see lol overall I give it 5 stars!
Nice place to take children of all ages. Lots of stuff to do here. Reasonably priced
What an amazing zoo. So massive and tons of different exhibits to explore. Reasonably priced and you could easily spend an entire day here.
Always love coming here! The staff is AMAZING and my friends and i enjoy visiting this well kept and nostalgic beautiful zoo we visited as a child!
My favorite zoo. Doesn't have the variety of animals that other zoos have, but the way the animals are kept is awesome! All the animal enclosures are natural woodland or open feilds and are much bigger than big city zoos.
Nice little zoo! Amazing Giraffe encounter! You can feed and pet them. It's a MUST do.
Awesome zoo with many different animals to see. The wild Africa side is real neat where you also get to feed giraffes. This was definitely my kids highlight of the day. Give yourself plenty of time to explore every inch of this zoo. You won't be disappointed
Exhibits are far more natural looking. Though the park design has a lot of dead ends resulting in turning back around through much of the park. The giraffe enclosure is very cool.
A great zoo with a wide variety of animals. The zoo itself covers a large area leaving plenty of space. We were there on a very busy day, but with the layout of the zoo we never felt crowded out of an attraction, nor did we feel like we had to avoid certain areas. The staff were friendly and informative and we're very proactive when the line to enter the zoo was longer than normal. The giraffes were awesome and easy to get to by foot ( .5 mile walk) or by tram. Definitely a place worth visiting multiple times!
Small zoo but loved feeding the giraffes. Many animals not on exhibit. Disappointing.
Its a cool zoo. A lot of stuff to here. Good for the kids.
Great place to visit. Lots of walking were good shoes kids loved it
No joke - the best zoo I've been to. I've been to the zoos in Grand Rapids, Omaha, Detroit, and this one takes the cake. Everything is within a great walking distance, and if it isn't, there's a free shuttle to the next place. Great selection of animals with great signage throughout the entire zoo.
I love this zoo, it may not have more animals than this one, or a cooler this, or that than this other one. But it has the coolest events and the most natural land of any zoo I have been to. It's not uncommon that you walk by and some zoo resident is out of the cage and on display by a handler. I miss a lot of events not having kids of my own, but there are plenty of 'adult only' events that are always a blast. Several events here are on my permanent calender. I am considering getting a membership just to allow them to keep the fun going. Staff is the greatest and even led my wife and I through a 'secret passage' at the end of an event to get us to the gate faster. Do yourself a favor and follow this zoo.
Great zoo! Animals in their natural settings as much as possible. Expensive food and you can only get hot dogs or brats at the Africa area, otherwise I would have given 5 stars.
For a small zoo they do it right. As a family we have enjoyed Binder Park Zoo for many years, and now are teaching our grandchildren to love it as well.
Wonderful zoo experience. Was better than I anticipated it's a pretty big zoo. Woodsy, tons of animals and wildlife. Part of a national park and zoo/aquarium consortium, was half off, pretty cool. There's a train and petting zoo even, I loved the goats. Food is pricey but whatever, it was pretty good though. Definitely enjoyed it, we're coming back.
Was amazing. Had a great time. Loved that they were very careful when I told them.about my food allergies. They have so many animals and things to do. :) best place
Binder Park has always been a "must do" on our summer bucket list. We love the large habitats for the animals and the variety of animals on display, but it seems like prices have been steadily creeping up over the past few years to the point that it's no longer just a fun day trip and now something that has to be saved for. The admission price is okay, but it's the extras like the train and the carousel, that our kids love, that add an additional almost $25 to the price that make it tough to swallow. No one wants to tell their kid they can't ride the zoo train or that we need to skip the carousel when they are at the zoo to make it affordable. I'm all for supporting the animals and we love the zoo, but I feel like the prices may be deterring to some families.
I had a lot of fun and great shade for the hots days, not bad in my opinion.
Good place to take the family , u get to feed giraffes too!
Fun day with my husband. Weather was perfect, people were friendly. Nice zoo. The $1.50 refills on the $6 souvenir mugs are a great deal.
My kids LOVED this zoo. They may not have as many animals as John Ball Zoo but definitely make up for it by how close you get to the animals, feeding the giraffes, never crowded and clean.
Amazing zoo! Our first time, drove 1.5hrs from South Bend, IN. Arrived at 9:30am, no one was here yet, it was great. Animals were all great and look well taken care of. Tram ride to African Wild was very nice, the layout of the African Wild was really amazing. The animals have a large open field and truly look happy. It was a little too cold for the giraffes so they weren't interested in being fed. Next time we hope to do this. Carousel was $3/kid, our kids enjoyed it. The train ride was also $3/person, only one person was taking money and driving the train so it was a longer wait. Train ride takes you through the forest, not super exciting for our kids. This zoo was really cool and we will be back soon!
This zoo was amazing. You can feed the giraffes which was a lot of fun. It was a but of a hike between animals and the enclosures were huge. Definately go check out the Africa area and take the free ride because it's a bit of a walk
Best zoo around! Love seeing the animals in natural type environments
Haven't been in years and it was amazing as always. We especially love the free tram to Africa to feed the giraffes.
Long walking (I'm disabled). The animals are cool. I loved the tigers! Wish there were polar bears. Friendly staff.
I really liked it here. It was a nice trip. I liked that you could drive to the African animals. The giraffes were the best part of our trip (2 dollars a leaf to feed them) but they were all close anyways. It was a lot of downhill walking and I could see this being a problem for wheel chairs. We had a double stroller, however, and it did just fine. I love all of the statues and the food was good. It took us about 5 hours to walk it (with small children) .
Visited this park on 3rd July. It was our toddler’s first zoo visit. She enjoyed it thoroughly. Even though it was sweltering hot, we still had a great time. The African safari was brilliant. The hike was long but there was plenty to see. A great place to mingle with wildlife & have fun! Overall it was a great experience.
What a wonderful zoo! Great animal exhibits and knowledgeable staff. Feeding the giraffes was amazing. It is $8 for 5 pieces of lettuce, but the pieces are big so they can be ripped into a couple pieces. Wonderful food in the cafe not overpriced for the quality and quantity. A great day!
Binder Park Zoo is great. When my kids were younger we would take frequent trips to the zoo and the kids always had fun. We especially like riding the train and the Africa area. They have done a lot to make that area seem like you're really in Africa in a way that Disney does.
Really cute zoo. Very kid friendly
This place is a blast! Best part? Feeding the giraffes. A bit expwnsive and be prepared to walk a lot, but very fun for the whole family.
Nice zoo. There are still some animals I'd like to see, but the African side is great! There's plenty of shade & fantastic trails. I love what they've done so far. Looking forward to seeing this zoo grow.
Binder Park Zoo is such an asset to our community. Our granddaughters love it there. Especially feeding the giraffes. The only minus for us, is that besides paying admission, you also pay for the train and carousel rides.
Fantastic! The animals can come right up to view! Very nice.
We had a good time at the zoo. Some of the animals weren't out but they gave a discount at the entrance because of this. We got to feed the giraffes which is cool. On a Monday in September we had the zoo mostly to ourselves so that was kinda cool.
Really love this zoo. Great layout. A beautiful walk through nature.
Great zoo for kids, adults and families! Lots of unique and exotic animals. Zoo staff is friendly, would go there again
I spent the day with my nephew and his Cub Scouts at Binder Park on Saturday and the entire experience was wonderful. They were invited to attend a special behind the scenes presentation about conservation as well as predators and prey. The kids were very excited to be allowed to have a hands on experience with a Magascar hissing cockroach, a snake native to Michigan and a armadillo. Amy was absolutely great with the room full of 4th graders and infinitely patient. We explored the zoo for nearly 6 hours and my nephew could have stayed looking at the red panda for hours if we let him. For me the snow leopard was the best. It prowled right up to the glass and let us get a nice long look at them. There were some exhibits closed but they were clearly marked so you knew before hand. The concessions areas were clean and orderly and we thankfully didn't have to wait long for much. Overall I would love to visit again.
Joke joke and did i say joke. This place needs an upgrade and every time I've been there a ton of stuff closed. Come on... Really. Workers are not friendly at all. The lay out is poor. You see one thing, walk half a mile to see another and there grounds are terrible. Get a grip binder we won't waste our money again and ill spred the word
My niece and nephew (3 and 2 yrs) loved it! The young man working the carousel was very good at his job and made it enjoyable for the guests.
Not a small Zoo, which many expect, but just the right size. Ample areas to walk around, and the added bonus of having friendly Giraffes and peacocks, made my girlfriend quite happy to be there!
I have been going to binder park zoo since I was 2 years old. I am 31 now, and I still enjoy going. Lots of walking so bring comfy shoes and powder the thighs lol. Feeding the giraffes has been my favorite part ever since they added the wild Africa side of the park. Admission isn't terrible, food prices are kind of what you'd expect. I will say I respect the step they took to help reduce reuse and recycle by adding water bottle fill up water fountains. I checked the numbers on the 3 that I used to fill up my water bottle, they have saved the planet over 25,000 water bottles.
I’ve been going to this zoo my entire life and to say I’m disappointed is an understatement. With the exception of the lions, it appears there has been no other general up-keep in the rest of the zoo. Many exhibits are not even occupied and you end up walking past a lot of empty spaces. Now they took away the zoo boo. I will gladly drive an hour to John Ball, or Boulder Ridge because at least there you don’t feel cheated out of your money. I can say with confidence that many many other residents of this town feel the same way. Save your money.
Great place for a family day out. It's safe and the staff and volunteers are very helpful and informative. Also, it's a beautiful walk.
A wonderful experience because most of the zoo has plenty of trees that make it feels like a jungle experience. There are plenty of animals .The most important thing is this zoo depends on ticket sales and your generous purchase helps these animals and the workers safe.
Don’t waste the money this year. Hard to believe our experience could not get any better compared to last year when the entire place was under construction, but IT DEFINITELY HASN’T. The only thing different is all the prices have increased!! The staff should take the time to get another lesson OR TWO in common courtesy.. it would go a long way! A little sad to say after several years of being pass holders, I don’t think we will be back this season.
Our first visit to Binder Park won't be our last. This Zoo felt more like an adventure than your typical zoo. We are very accustomed to John Ball Zoo in Grand Rapids, but this was a very different experience. John Ball gives you more animals in a shorter time period, but if you're looking for an adventure try Binder Park. Feeding the giraffes will be an experience you won't soon forget.
This Zoo is massive and the animals are so amazing! It's worth the trip just to feed the giraffes
Awesome Zoo. It was so worth the hour and a half drive. Things are a little expensive inside, but I mean they kind of have to make money. Let's just say that I ate outside. LOL don't be cheap use the tram, unless you're in to walking long distances. They take really good care of the animals there. It really makes you want to be there. At the Wild Africa part I saw a Cheetah eyeing those animals on the other side. It kind of made me sad a little. I really grateful that I don't have to go all the way to Africa to see a Giraffe or a Cheetah, etc. I really enjoyed my time there.
Binder Park Zoo has improved greatly since my childhood. The expansion of Wild Africa is quite nice and the petting zoo was fun.The main part of the zoo, however, needs some maintenance and repairs.
Great place to take the kids to run around and see some cute animals.
Poor excuse for a zoo. Free parking was good. Adult price was fair. Child’s price was too high. 5 yrs. and under should be free. To charge extra for a boring, boring train ride, that you can’t tell a kid NO....!!! Is disgusting. The biggest attraction is the giraffes, they price gouge you $ 8.00 for a few PCs. Of romaine lettuce, to feed them. Lots of walking, but there is a lot of shaded walkways. That was nice. Oh yah, you probably wouldn’t want to buy lunch there. Very easy going day, except for extra, extra unnecessary expenses. Hope this was helpful.
My family absolutely loves Binder! We go here at least 4 times a year. Friendly staff and decent prices. Wild Africa is a must see and a great experience.
The whole family loved it here. Especially the Snow Leopard, Bears, Chinese Panda and a couple other animals. All disappointed that we didn't have enough time to see the Giraffes or the Monkeys, along with a few other animals that wasn't view to the public at the time.
This zoo is pretty awesome. I have a yearly membership and bring my kids here often. The zoo is much larger than it appears. They have a free shuttle that takes you to the back half of the zoo. Make sure to check it out!
This is a smaller zoo, but still plenty to see and enjoy. The tickets won't cost you an arm and a leg either. Oh, did I mention...you literally get to feed Giraffes. Hands down one of the coolest experiences of my life!
Very nice tram ride and very helpful people along the way I'm directions and anyone offering to help an enjoyable all the sites sounds of animals close at hand write a long walk to have to get to see in Wild Africa the Lions and giraffes
I was disappointed. You couldn't see much animals. If you wanted a nice walk then I would recommend it. The prices in the gift shop was outrageously high. On a good note there was alot of benches to seat. Granddaughter had fun and enjoyed it. I don't think I will go again.
My family and I love this zoo. The Africa exhibit is great for kids and adults. The membership is worth it.
We were not impressed at all. The place is overgrown and poorly cared for. The landscaping is unkept. The animals that were there seemed lethargic, and many were not available for viewing. The layout is stretched out and awkward. The staff was rude at entrance and we saw very few employees in the zoo area.
Cool zoo, decent selection of animals to check out. The wild africa exhibit was cool and got to pet a giraffe lol. All and all a cool day trip, just bring your own food or be prepared to pay really high prices
What a fun day we had here. Absolutely loved the African preserve. So many animals here that I had never seen before. Love love love. I am a 28 year old on top of that! Lol.
Been coming here since I was a kid. Always loved seeing the animals. Especially feeding giraffes
This is my favorite zoo! The animals have lots of space. I just wish the swamp nature walk was fixed that would be really nice. But its still fun to go there. And my boyfriend (Fiance) proposed to me yesterday by the Lions exhibit! So sweet!
