REVIEWS OF Zoo Knoxville IN Georgia

Kenneth Wacasey

This zoo continues to impress. Constantly evolving and updating. Exhibits are well maintained and several of the areas are really large in size. Staff is wonderful and keepers are personable. On par with some of the best zoo's I have visited in the US.

Emily Duffield

I hadn't been to the zoo in several years, and yesterday I was able to take my child for the first time. The zoo is always a wonderful experience. I was also quit impressed with all the cool new things going on at the zoo. My family and I are already talking about making it a once a year trip.

Sandi C

Love this zoo. You can tell the keepers care for the animals and the animals thrive (lots of babies can be found here). There have been several new areas added lately and more are coming soon. We find it well worth a season pass.

Rachel Walker

I absolutely love this zoo. To me it's the best in the area. It has well laid out walkways and there are a good number of animals to see.

Donald Bittenbender

Pretty good. Some of the attractions weren't out but an overall good experience, decent value for the money.

Travis Morris

A lot of animals for your children to see!! Very nice place to take your children!! They had a blast and so did my wife, her sister, and myself! If you haven't been then you are definitely missing out!

Amanda Hazelwood

Lots of new development, tiger and gibbon/Langur exhibits great, new reptile exhibit coming I think in 2020, super fun!

Sherrie Ottinger

Love the zoo! They try hard to make their exhibits as realistic as possible, which is better for critters and humans. Sometimes, depending on the time of year you go, you won't see certain species. Check before you go. They have food vendors in case you get hungry, and lots of "kid-friendly" things. Well worth your time and $$$.

Ashley Noriz

We love the zoo. We got a pass and use it frequently. It's well kept. The animals are content and very well cared for. Lots of educational programs and learning experiences for the kids.

Sandra Perez

Great time with Boo at the Zoo! Awesome price for tickets.

Chris Strunk

The zoo was an amazing activity for my wife and our 2 year old son. Quite a few of the reptiles were not on display due to the seasons and we didn't get to see any turtles, but besides that, it was an awesome experience. We especially loved the camel rides and petting zoo.

Nathan Miller

This is the first time I've been to Knoxville Zoo since the 90's. Of course there have been many improvements since then and I was absolutely amazed by the new exhibits that have been constructed. Excellent viewing areas both inside and out provide wonderful memories for people young and old. We bright our 8 yr old girl and 8 month old boy and both have been captivated by the sights. Beautifully kept grounds and knowledgeable goodness located throughout the park that greatly enhance the experience. There are a couple of indoor play areas along with a splash pad so bring the young one's swim suits. Many eateries to enjoy but if you're in a budget you can bring in a packed lunch and eat at one if the many picnic areas. Active military and veterans receive an amazing discount so bring a veteran I definitely enjoyed that bonus. If you get here early enough there is close parking to the ticket booths. They also provide shuttles from the lower lot to the entrance.

Jeremy W. Dailey

Love our little Zoo. Great place to take the kids. Splash pad, play area, and tons of animals. Prices are very fair, especially annual passes.

Kenneth Wacasey

This zoo continues to impress. Constantly evolving and updating. Exhibits are well maintained and several of the areas are really large in size. Staff is wonderful and keepers are personable. On par with some of the best zoo's I have visited in the US.

Hope Magley

Its big enough that even if it's crazy crowded, it doesn't feel crowded. I love that it just felt like a normal place, not crammed in like sardines like how I would feel in a mall. Easy to get to from the I-40. It has a very nice array of animals. Also has several spots with misting from above and fans for summer days

Eddie Mullins

Some displays was very nasty. If your a diabetic you better bring your own food. Because it is absolutely not diabetic friendly. Some displays was shut down or blocked off. It's a one and done zoo . I've been there many times over the years but it's just run down now..

Emily Duffield

I hadn't been to the zoo in several years, and yesterday I was able to take my child for the first time. The zoo is always a wonderful experience. I was also quit impressed with all the cool new things going on at the zoo. My family and I are already talking about making it a once a year trip.

David Murphy

Great zoo. Highly recommend. Loved seeing the pandas. Couldn't believe how close you can get to the animals. That allows you to experience then alot better.

Cassie Letson

Lots of animals to see and the habitats were very nice. I just wish the animals would have been more active and not hiding so much when we went. Not the zoo's fault and we don't expect anyone to be able to do anything about that. Some of the exhibits were hard to see because there was so much glare on the glass. Overall though it was fun!

Rebekah M

Wonderful zoo. We came here on our visit from the smokies were from Indiana and it was well worth it. Such a nice zoo. With our other zoo membership we got a huge discount also.

Maggie McLain

Had a great time visiting the Knoxville Zoo, lots had changed since my last visit, 15+ years ago. My daughter (2) loved the splash pad and watching the monkeys. It's a full day, so take a cooler and be prepared for lots of walking. I've heard going for feeding time is great for kids, we missed it, it's at 11am.

Brittany Metelus

My family and several others went on an after hours your, which was very fun and educational. There were several uncommon facts that our guide, Savannah, shared with us, as well as being able to answer the majority of our questions about the animals. She was also engaged in learning information she didn't know and actively joined me in looking up answers to questions she didn't know. Next time I'm in Knoxville, I would definitely return for such a tour.

Adam Morello

This is such an amazing zoo. So many great exhibits and the animals were so active when I was there. And best of all, it's no where near as crowded as zoos in larger cities.

Mel M

Nov. 2019 visited Zoo Knoxville. It had over 20 years since I had been here. It was a wonderful refreshing experience. All the animals had nice clean exhibits. Staff friendly. Hope to return soon.

Koorite

The zoo was large and nice, but i feel like they were lacking in animals.

Amanda Eastman

Beautiful zoo!! Wonderful large exhibits and the animals all look healthy, active and well cared for. Lots of construction but it looks like exciting things to come! Can't wait to visit again

Angela Fleming

This place was not worth the price. The layout is ridiculous with dead ends everywhere which require so much extra walking than necessary and not enough exhibits along the way. The best exhibit was the gorillas. The baby put on a show for everyone and the second best was watching them feed the tigers.

Tracy Barhite

Love Zoo Knoxville. They have wonderful animals from all over the world. I believe they make their very best effort to provide excellent natural habitats for the animals.

leanne Chamberlain

Love the zoo, especially the red pandas and the baby giraffe!

joshua Taylor

I had a wonderful trip this day! The staff was wonderful, and knowledgeable! It was really exciting because we got to see the elephants out and about! The zoo closest to me doesn't have any elephants so it was worth the drive!

Sandi C

Love this zoo. You can tell the keepers care for the animals and the animals thrive (lots of babies can be found here). There have been several new areas added lately and more are coming soon. We find it well worth a season pass.

Joseph Miller

Lots of great animals to see from reptiles to all sorts big and small. Misty sprays for when its hot. it's hot. And drinks, gift shop. Great place.

Timothy Davis

First zoo I've ever been too. Loved it. Some animals were hiding but that was okay it was extremely hot out and I accidentally left my wallet there and thank God everything was returned to ranger station! Definitely will be back!

Rachel Walker

I absolutely love this zoo. To me it's the best in the area. It has well laid out walkways and there are a good number of animals to see.

wheres fall

This is a great zoo. The exhibits are nicely set up and they have a huge variety. I recommend a visit of your local or in the areas 5. Also they have the biggest elephant in the northern hemisphere so....

Nelly Alvarado

Small but cute zoo. I've been to the Nashville zoo and to be honest I liked the Knoxville zoo far better and for the price is well worth the 2 and a half hour trip. The only thing I didn't like was that some of the little concession stands were closed other than that my family and I loved it

Wayne Freeman

Awesome place. Cant wait till construction is done

Axzairia Ryan

Everything was spaced out nicely so they weren't crowded. Had a great variety of animals and amazing exhibits to feature them. For this being my 1st time here I couldnt be happier with my experience

David Stephenson

Fun for kids/should be cheaper hardly see the animals

Angela Schubert

Who doesn't love going to the Zoo?! I am very impressed at how much they are trying to make it better for the animals and the visitors too :)

Jason B

Love this place. Wonderful place for kids and family. Very well maintained, friendly staff.

Brian Artis

Nice zoo, fairly different animals to make it unique from other zoos. The GPS takes u completely different place, so pay attention to signs heading there.

renea smith

Great day. Weather was great. Not very crowded.

Jordan Cox

Zoo Knoxville is a great zoo that is better than a city Knoxville's size would typically have. They are always putting in new exhibits with a major new reptile and amphibian house on the way. Plenty of parking with shuttling if needed.

Ben Bedwell

Overall my family and I had a wonderful experience. All the animals on exhibit appear to be in excellent health with plenty of room and objects to engage them for activity (My #1 priority when looking at a zoo). The zoo is clean and the variety of exotic animals on display is great. I had never seen a real live elephant up so close before. The gibbon exhibit is a highlight, watching the monkeys swing around on the ropes in the enclosure. The tiger and lions were beautiful. Well worth the price of admission. Would gladly come back.

Shawn Pedersen

Nice zoo, excellent red panda facility. Looks like they are making a lot of upgrades to the facility.

Matthan Stafford

My family and I always have a great time here. The animals all seem to be well cared for and the zoo staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The food and drink cost is a little high, but you can't operate a zoo without funding. Highly recommend this zoo!

Johnathan Key

I can't say enough good things about the Knoxville Zoo. My son absolutely loves it there, and we often spend hours watching all the animals. There is a great kids zone with lots of activities. Also if you are law enforcement then just show your badge at the ticket booth and you will get in free of charge!

Clarissa Davis

My family and I went to Zoo Knoxville for a fun day trip.Zoo staff (keepers) are always willing to share their knowledge of the animals and their personality. Plan to bring snacks or a picnic lunch because eating at the zoo is expensive. We love seeing all the animals and watching them interact with each other and the public.

Brian Case

We love Zoo Knoxville and visit frequently. Buy a season pass and you’ll not only save money (pays for itself after two visits) but you also get a discount everywhere in the zoo. They also host great events for the adults (Feast With the Beasts & Brew at the Zoo) so there is something for all ages.

Rich Haren

Every exhibit we visited had rather attentive and active animals. Kids loved the petting zoo. Excited about the new renovations they are working on.

Carla Burke

We took our grandchildren to the Knoxville Zoo and had a great time. The zoo is nice and clean. After seeing all of the wonderful animals, there is a splash pad to visit so the kids can cool off. Much fun to be had, check it out!

Michael Shinall

Really great zoo! Has some exhibits that need some work but still really great. If you're local they have great rates on annual passes that will save you in the long run.

Tiffany Hill

Wonderful Zoo. We especially loved the tiger exhibit and the elephants but everything was great. The penguins were being renovated and they are getting ready to build a big amphibian and reptile place. Definitely a great day trip.

Eric Powell

Good zoo. Nice size, well maintained. Kind of expensive, though.

Dyana Kitts

I love the zoo. I just wished they had later hours. I get off shortly before they close or else I would by a season pass to have a location to safely walk around.

Esther Trail

The zoo was great, it had lots of animals, some we did not get to see, but it is a great place to bring children, so they can learn about different animals.

Ryan Klasmeier

Great zoo for its size. The newer exhibits are extremely well done and very innovative. The gibbon exhibit is amazing and it was fun to watch the Gibbons run throughout the multiple story enclosure. There are also several kid and toddler areas spread throughout the park. The splash area was also very nice.

Kim Gemboys

I think this was definitely not worth the money. Alot of the animals were not out. I was also appalled that the carousel and train ride was an extra $3 a piece for 1 ride each. And there drinks are too expensive.

M J

Went to Boo at the Zoo. It was a great time. Lots of things to do and even got to see some elephants and this little guy hanging around.

Tonie Johnson

Had a wonderful time with my grandchildren 's will be back soon.

Soulmetzger

My family loves this place. If you're local make sure the buy an annual pass and stop by anytime. With having a very young child we have to cut our trips to an hour or so and a pass make this easy on the wallet.

B. Howard

It has been years since I have been to the zoo. I was impressed!! They have added some nice touches, like the tiger exhibit has a new building to go in and observe them. Also the splash pad for the kids to cool off in was a good size.

Lizz Smith

Awesome zoo! If you arrive late in the day your tickets are valid the next day. Animals seemed pretty happy.

A Wheeler Science

What a kid (and family) friendly zoo! There were several "play spaces" for children to play. Everyone seem to enjoy! We were also lucky enough to see the baby giraffe--highlight of my four year-old's experience!

Jeffrey Kite

Zoo Knoxville is a great zoo and a wonderful way to spend the day. Very knowledgeable employees and caretakers. Their annual "Brew at the Zoo" where local breweries set up and hand out samples to help raise money for the animals is something we don't miss. I advise getting season passes.

Riley Chauvin-Duchesne, REALTOR

One of my top favorite places in Knoxville to bring the kids. Big enough where you can spend an hour or two and do certain phases of the zoo and then come back for other areas if you have a season pass. Great to unplug from electronics and see vivid artistry!

jack wynn

Fun, even under construction. Great views of ALL the animals. Ez on and off i-40

Tad Howard

Zoo Knoxville is fantastic as family entertainment. Zoo Knoxville's conservation work is even more important. Everyone should visit and offer support.

Caleb Allen

Took my daughter to Boo at the Zoo. She had fun. There weren't many animals to see in the middle of October, so this trip was mainly for the kids. But overall, pretty clean and the staff is super friendly.

Deborah Kirby

Had a great day, all of the staff were friendly and helpful. I lost my walking stick and an hour after they closed they called to tell me they found it. They waited for me to come back and pick it up even though they were already closed.

Shawn Yocom

This is a pretty fantastic Zoo. We decided to buy annual passes because it IS worth it to come back. The Tigers are in the best shape of any tigers I've seen at any zoo, ever. The gibbons always put in a great show, and there is significant elephant history. I could keep going. Zoo Knoxville had been my favorite activity so far since moving to this city.

camille marie

What an amazing experience! Expansive exhibits with very interactive animals. I highly recommend this zoo!

Mike Kapusta

Great staff and beautiful facility with plenty of room to grow. Nice diversity of animals as well as plants spread out over several acres of wooded hills. Most animals are kept in open enclosures rather than cages, and all appeared healthy and well cared for. Annual membership is one of the best deals around. For slightly more than a single day pass, you get a full year of free admission AND free parking, discounts on food and concessions, plus reciprocal admission or discounts to dozens of other area attractions, plus zoos and aquariums across the country!

Shafer Johnson

This is the best zoo I have been to. They had your normal animals from Africa and some more exotic animals from Asia, like the red pandas. It was fun also seeing the squirming otters and the playful chirping African Painted Dogs. I plan on going again when I'm in east Tennessee again, especially with the new edition to the giraffe family.

Jesse Harrell

Had a good time, but DO NOT buy the giraffe feeding tickets ahead of time. Cost us $25 for five tickets and the girl by the giraffes said that only ONE of them eats ever, and he only comes over once or twice a day. Of course the tickets are NON REFUNDABLE so I lost my money. They’re good for a month, but we live 8 hours away.

Jamie Culver

Awesome enough for us to renew our family Knoxville Zoo passes! Would add pictures but for some reason it won't let me. Oh well. Highly recommend!

Christina Austin

I absolutely love Zoo Knoxville. I’ve been going since I was a little girl. It’s a wonderful place to take your family. I love all the animals. My favorite is the tigers!

Tyler Farrington

Excellent for kids. Has a nice mixture of animals. The animals look well taken care of and the staff appears to be happy with their work. Has a very nice and big splash pad for kids!

Crystal Rose

A great zoo to visit! Lots of animals, and other activities to do. They have several different outdoor areas for kids to play on throughout the zoo. We even got to ride a camel! It was a first for us. There is a play area that my kids loved! You can also brush goats and lambs. My kids really loved this zoo! Definitely a great place to spend the day with your family.

Michael Breiling

This zoo is very clean! And has animals you don't always get to see. I came here specifically to see the African Painted Wolves! Though the other animals were also great! This is a great zoo to bring your family to as well.

Tammy Monger

Loved Zoo Knoxville and all the up dates they have added.

Hannah Overton

Zoo Knoxville is always a fun time! Being a Knoxville native, I've seen how much this organization has grown and changed for the better over the years. They have fascinating enrichment set up for the animals, and interactive exhibits and habitats. There are a lot of fun activities for kids!

Carol Sartin

Great place. Would have given 5 stars but not all of the exhibits/animals were available for viewing. We had a very relaxing enjoyable day. Best gorilla accommodations I have ever seen. The whole zoo was very well laid out.

Krista Asp

Fun zoo with many different animals to look at throughout the whole park. Not to rigorous of a walk and offering many different viewing areas for animals.

Serena Imperato

It was a nice zoo but so much uphill walking. Me being fat and my friend being seven months pregnant did not think this one all the way through. Like I said though, very nice zoo. The animals seemed happy.

Kimberly SuChy

We had an absolute blast!! It was so much fun and also a clean place. A very big zoo with lots of animals that look very healthy and well taken care of. It was our baby's first zoo trip and she loved it. Definitely will go back and reccomend going there.

Sally J

Amazing zoo. Even in hot weather, animals were visible and the splash park rocked!

Jasmine Dykstra

There wasn't as much to see as I hoped for and many of the animals were hiding and sleeping. Very inactive and blah. As always the monkeys were entertaining, parking is a little sketchy too. Small spaces and tight

Liezl Bagang

A lot places area to walk, cute attraction, food+ drinks.

Richmon Ingle

Loved loved loved it! My girls had a wonderful time!! Even though it was stupid hot the mist area was a great way to cool off for the kids so they could keep seeing all the great exhibits

Jason Molinaro

Great place for the family. Even has a splash pad to cool off. And great pricing. We will be back again. The staff is very friendly too.

Mike Bramati

Clean and organized. Lots of animals. Really enjoyed the bird show. Hoping to see a lion soon

Sarah Coffey

Cool little zoo! Sad it closes so early but it was a neat experience.

Jared Huisingh

I love that my local zoo is a leader in conservation efforts. They truly see their mission as one focused on educating people about the amazing species with which we share the planet. The continued development of the zoo will serve the greater good for all.

Meaghan Robinson

Currently under construction for new exhibits but the new Gibbon exhibits are absolutely amazing! They have so much room to swing around and enjoy themselves.

Kristyn Lane

Always love going to the zoo! Kids always have a blast!

Brandon Wallace

Awsome place to take the kids annual passes the best deal. Cant wait to go back. Was told they should be adding a few new areas here soon.

Andrew Jackson

Zoo Knoxville is a great place to spend the day with the kids. The new exhibits let you get up close with the animals and there are tons of activities to do throughout the zoo. Bring clothes to get wet in during the summer. There kids love the splash pad.

Rem Godfrey

Love this zoo, great exhibits and very well kept. Plenty if cooling stations for when it gets really hot. Also a little water park for kids to cool off in. The Red Panda exhibit is my favorite

Cro Magnon

Continuing to improve and make it better each year. Loved it before, and love it even more now

Timothy Dye

Great place but a lot of hills. Next visit I will have to rent a disability cart as my back hurt from climbing the hills with a cane. Well laid out with map available to locate the displays. Many animals in conservation programs here. Well cared for with yard areas maintained for animals safety. Will be back to visit again.

Wendy Hughel

Loved my day at the zoo! There is some construction going on but otherwise it was a great experience! The employees are very friendly!

Renee Marrero

We don't make it out there very often but when we do make it there, it is really fun. The new exhibits are very well done. We always eat before we go though. Food is also kind of expensive for what you get. I get that it helps feed the animals. But I also gotta be budget friendly.

Darrell Hinkley

Is very expensive for 2 adults and 3 children cost 100. And place is showing its age. There is construction going on so maybe it will be worth the price next year.

Jennifer Sanjines

Always love it here. We went on a Monday morning (no matter the day we try to go early while it feels good) but the animals are so much easier to see and many are out early. The staff are always kind! They're doing some construction but we didn't mind seeing the "diggers" too!

Anna Anderson

Good place to spend half day with toddlers. Wish there were more variety of food and drinks.

Jeremy Suiter

We like to go to the zoo for a morning walk (we have annual passes) and it is particularly nice earlier in the day when they first open (9:00 am). Fewer people and cooler temperatures!

Michelle Henderson

We had so much fun. We are from out of town and this was our first stop. Our daughter loved the splash pad area and there was a great mix of animals. Super impressed.

Raeleen Harness

Zoo Knoxville is an AMAZING experience for both young and old. ALL of the staff and vounteers are super friendly and extremely knowledgeable. It is obvious the love they have for the animals. The keepers welcome and encourage questions and share how important conservation is. I encourage everyone to go and also research becoming a member of "Circle of Friends."

Anthony J Croupe

Fantastic Zoo. Animal Enclosures are quite nice sizes and a wide variety of different animals to learn about means a lot to do in your visit. The Tiger was super active and just going for the adoreable Red Pandas alone is worth it. Looking for a nice way to spend a day at a good price, head over and visit with the animals at Zoo Knoxville.

Mary Everett

The employees are so helpful! I love the animals, especially the giraffes!

Chris Brown

Great zoo. Friendly staff and great views for the kids. The children's play areas and splash park kept the kids entertained when they weren't watching the animals.

Brittny Delgado

A good portion was under construction so some promised animals were missing

Ashley S

We absolutely love the Knoxville Zoo! The season pass prices are very reasonable and you can even get a season pass for both the zoo at the Muse- a combo pass that saves even more money. There are so many animals here and they are well cared for. There are extra perks with the season pass such as discounts on food/drinks, the gift shop, members only events. The staff is helpful and has always been very nice and knowledgeable. The staff have times where you can watch them interact with the animals- feeding the tigers, an amazing bird show, etc. The splash pad is a huge hit with the kids! They have recently had births of a red panda and giraffe!

Jessica M.W.

We love our time at the zoo. I have three little ones and the tiger and gibbon exhibit is amazing. The food is a bit pricey, but pretty good. We pack snacks on days we don’t want to spend the extra cost. All around wonderful.

Barbara Claude

The knoxville zoo has really become a great place for families, young and old. The tiger exhibit is so beautiful. An air conditioned place you can settle in and just observe these magnificent animals. They have several new bies of other animals this summer that just makes it something new all the time. They are building a new reptile building that will become a centerpiece area. A kids section round out the experience and also live video cams avail a blessing from local news stations. A must see local attraction!

Penny Kanipe

Thank you to Friends of Tennessee's Babies with Special Needs. My girls and boys had a great fun day

William Rodda

Great place for the family to spend time together. Plenty of animals to see and a friendly staff to give information about the animals to your curious child. You will leave happy you came. I saw smiles every where I went.

Jeffrey DeCristofaro

I have just returned to this place after over two decades, and OMG how it has changed! I loved seeing the new exhibitions - including for critically endangered species like the Western Lowland Gorillas and the Malayan Tiger, which we MUST preserve and protect from poachers and the illegal pet trade - but the big thrill was in exploring where the old entrance used to be and where some of the original animal exhibits were, along with the place where I used to go to Breakfast with the Beasts in the mornings with my dad before we moved out of Tennessee! Definitely a great place for families and tourists, and a go-to spot for native Tennesseeans emerging to be the next generation of biologists, zoologists, forest rangers and more!

Robert Hubick

A great experience. All the animals were out and visible, even though it was a hot day (which concerned me at first). An awesome zoo pretty close to home. (The chimps and gorillas made me a little sad. The look in their eyes reminds me of visiting relatives in jail but they had very nice areas to live in so I think it was just my bleeding heart).

Tammy Stanfield

Best day! Well laid out so you feel very close to the animals. I fed a giraffe, and touched an 80 year old tortoises she'll. You can ride a camel also. Great place for families! Food and gifts are nicely priced too. I will go back. It is better than Nashville's zoo.

Jessica Brady

We always get an annual pass. Our children can never get enough of the zoo. We absolutely love it. Their events are the best. You definitely don't want to miss Boo at the Zoo or Feast With the Beasts!

Heather Gannon

What a GREAT place. 1st visit and I'll be back. A few of the animals were alone and that's sad. Get them a friend.

Teela Byrd

It's just not what it used to be. They still have great attractions but all the things that made it great to me are gone. No polar bears, zebra etc... lots of construction so hopefully it will be even better soon

Luke Johnson

Took my father-in-law and family for Father's Day, we both got in free for being fathers (what a neat deal!) The zoo was clean, and every zoo employee we encountered was very nice and helpful. I love our local zoo!

Jessica Kitsos

Our church youth group went to the zoo last weekend and we had so much fun! The animals are great and seem very happy! The splash pad was a huge hit with all the kids & the food was good also. We will be going back and would purchase yearly passes if we lived closer! Highly suggest this zoo for kids of all ages!!

richardmarsh82

Great zoo with lots of different animals. Animals looked to be in good health and had decent sized pens. Most of the people complaining about the size and conditions are just being ridiculous. The empty good boxes in the pens were for the purpose of feeding the animals but rather than just putting it in a bowl to eat, it gives the animal a project to figure out and a great reward when done opening the box. Will definitely come back once the new exhibits are done being built.

Chris Shortridge

This is an edit from my last review. Although I can't say much changed from my last review. This zoo still in my opinion gets a five star rating. This zoo is amazing, and nothing else is like it for hundreds of miles around. if you come up towards the smoky mountains and find your way in pigeon forge, and Sevierville, Tn. You must give this zoo a try. You won't regret this very wonderful and exciting experience. My family and I have been coming here since I was a child, and originally started my love of animals. This zoo has done nothing but grow, while giving the crowds that come here a wild and exciting show to see. Trying to see the zoo from google maps. I ensure you, your doing an injustice. Google maps for this mapping zone is outdated, and doesn't show all the hard work and expansions which the zoo has recently completed.

Mike Burtch

Always fun, love the animals and the play area for the kids. My only issue is price. Can't go often because of high cost. I like the fact you have a military discount because I am the son of a veteran, but that does not help me and my family. I wish there were discounts for educators.

christina kyes

Did not seem like healthy clean exhibits, definitely aged, all the snack places were out of everything. The only highlight was the waterplay area!

Josh Smallwood

Fun place. Splash pad for the kids. Plenty of places to eat. Bird shows. Camel rides. Giraffe feeding. Petting zoo area. Big sandbox.

Helen Chadwell

Love the zoo but it closes at 5 so if you want to see all the animals get there in the morning

Summer Brown

Amazing updates. Would have given 5 stars, but being so about the animals, I would have liked to see more enrichment items for the animals. They seemed slightly bored and a few were showing stress behavior.

Olivia Smith

Have some great attractions- tiger, elephants. And then some not so great attractions. A lot of turtles. Exhibits and groundskeeping needs updated.

Val Wilson

The middle is pretty much under construction, but still a good time!

Melanie Mosier

Great zoo. Very clean with very nice, well-tended landscaping and public spaces. Good selection of exotic animals. Most enclosures seem to have adequate space for the number and sizes of animals on display. Even the main canteen had fresh, quite edible food. All staff are friendly and informative. A wonderful place to spend a relaxing and interesting afternoon.

Krypto Blaze

We went at about 2pm and from ALL the animals we didn't see it was too hot for anyone to enjoy them because the animals were nowhere to be seen. For a very big Zoo we seen very few animals. So if you decide to go, go early in the morning. I did not like our visit at all

Susanna Kitts-Morgan

We are zoo members and visit several times per year. We really enjoy visiting during off-peak times because it's not crowded and we can send quality time watching the animals. Zoo Knoxville is doing a great job improving and building new exhibits.

Shawn House

Thy seem to take very good care of the animals. It is a great place to take the family. I just wish it was a little less expensive.

Melanie Greely

This is definitely my favorite zoo for bringing kids. There's awesome places to play, big animals, a splash park, and it's not too crowded.

Jeff Bealer

Great place for all ages. The exhibitions are done extremely well and are informative and helpful for all present. The location is marked well, when approaching from the interstate. The zoo is also very clean and the hospitality is good as well.

Jonathan McDaniel

Family friendly, fun, and full of cool information. Love the zoo.

Maryann Pahl

We have buying the annual passes for 2 years and finally just made it through all of the zoo. It's huge! We love this zoo. They have a wonderful Halloween celebration too.

Adam Brunelle

Great zoo to check out. Didn't get as many pics as I would have liked but the kids and ourselves enjoyed the visit.

Christine Schoen

I loved it. The scooter worked well for my mother who has a hard time getting around. She loved the zoo also.

Doris Summitt

Went to the zoo with friends. The map is confusing as it shows a sprawling zoo covering many acres. At the time of visit, many of the animals were in cool areas as it was 92 degrees outside. Trying to follow the map to see the animals took us in different directions than the map showed. The camel rides were good but so expensive per ticket.

Crystal Freeman

The exhibits r better. Still alot of work going on . I think better is yet to come.

Deanna Port

This zoo is one of the best that we’ve been too! There is so much for kids to see and to do interactive options and the splash pad is a great place to cool down. We loved that the park was easy to walk through and flip around without going aimlessly. We loved that they have shows and can bring the animals out during feedings so you have a chance to see them do more than just lay there. We missed a few animals that were hiding but we think we’ll be back!

gregg prater

I absolutely loved my visit. I was ecstatic to find out they let Military in at a HUGE discount. We enjoyed every bit. We got to see almost every animal. It wasn't warm enough for the endangered Tortoises yet, so I am stoked to go back and see it all again and feed all the animals this time!

James West

Little bit disappointed lots of construction going on seem to be missing a lot of animals. Normally a very nice zoo for the size of the city it's in.

Meghan Shipley

Smaller place and the enclosures look a bit small and boring for the animals. Edited: due to their response I am upgrading my review to 5 stars as I trust that they are truly thinking of their animal's best interests!

Maria Jenkins

Good sized zoo with almost all animals on display. Seemed like all the animals were well cared for in human conditions. Lots of children's activities available.

Elizabeth Corby

The best place very. Great price for all you get to do. It is so safe feeling and alot of places now a day do not feel safe. I will most definitely go back so me and my family can stay for more hours. The gifts shops are good as well and the train ride is grrat as well for $3.

stephanie carriger

Anytime I go it's a great experience. Love it.

Tonya Wilson

It was a scorching day but it was a nice place to visit.. A lil pricey I think to get in & for food or drinks.

John Heubach

A pleasant , relaxing, and educational experience for all involved! The scale of this zoo is easily walkable; the grounds are attractive and the diversity of animals, habitats, and displays is impressive. All-in-all it was an enjoyable outing for grandparents and grandchild alike. I would DEFINITELY buy an annual pass if I lived nearby for I would make the Knoxville Zoo a regular experience !

The Pate's

Our 4th visit in 5 years and we still enjoy the zoo. They've made several improvements during that time. Great family adventure but get here early during very hot summer days.

Chris Hickey

Great place, just needs some updates to signs and animal needs. Love the animals though!

Kayla Wright

When I visited a lot of it was under construction. The bear exhibit gave a very strong first impression, but it got more bland as our visit continued. The otters and monkeys werent in their exhibits, and a lot of the reptile cases were empty. There was only one lion and she looked exhausted. Staff was friendly, park was clean aside from the construction. I may consider visiting again next year, hopefully when the construction is done itll be more lively.

Chris Gentile

It is amazing how far the Zoo has come in the past decade. The new tiger/gibbon exhibits are some of the best in any US Zoo! Staff is incredibly friendly and the grounds are pretty much spotless. Can't wait to visit their new reptile area when it opens in the coming years.

Courtney Giguere

We love this zoo!! We miss our zoo from florida because of all the extra stuff but maybe one day this one will have the extra experiences and a little tram ride too!!!

Christina Mosier

Every time we come here, we have a great experience. Their tiger exhibit is amazing and you get so close to them it feels like there isn't even glass between you. They have a kid zone with a small petting zoo and they have a lot of fun things to do that are not overly expensive. A carousel ride $3.00, a small "train" $5.00, camel ride $5.00, and to feed the giraffes $5.00. The staff are always friendly and interactive at exhibits.

Linzy Nathlich

We were in Pigeon Forge for a family reunion and took a day to head to the zoo as a big group. The kids (ages 1-12) all loved it! The zoo is easy to navigate, the animals are easily visible and there are so many different animals to see. We all loved it! Don’t forget your bathing suits and towels so you can have fun and cool off at the splash pad!

Nathan Larkin

They are remodeling a lot, but the areas that are still open are amazing and still worth the trip. I look forward to returning after the remodel.

Ruth Kurzrock

Clean, well designed layout with wonderful animals and experiences

Judith Rosenberg

If you live in the greater Knoxville area and you haven't been to Zoo Knoxville lately...do yourself a huge favor and get there. The work they're doing is really, truly amazing for our world. It's a great way to spend a few hours or a whole day, no matter how old you are. The new exhibits are fantastic, the new food is great, and the guest experience is lovely. Go to the Zoo!!

Benjamin Frost

Love the zoo! Great place to spend a day and take the kids. Educational, fun and who doesn't like being about 5 feet from a red panda!

Josh Dyer

The Knoxville Zoo was awesome! I loved the rhinoceros exhibit, and the gorillas. All of the animals were incredible. It was nice they even had Little scooter carts for my father to use, since it was quite a large place with lots to see.

Noel Sorensen

Went on $5 days, it was never posted #1 had to have cash, #2 was never posted had to have exact change! Plus all the construction being done there, there wasn't a whole lot to see!

Dan Renzi

Every snack shop was completely unprepared. Some employees completely rude. Other then that. Great place

Chris Edester

Pretty awesome. I've been to several really small and not so great zoos. I was expecting the same here but I was shocked to find an excellent experience. It's quite large and they have so many awesome animals and experiences to enjoy. Definitely worth it!

Wiley Woodward

A wonderful zoo that is enjoyable for all ages. My family was thrilled by the immerssive habitats and exquisite creatures. My favorite was the Red Wolf, which I have completed many college projects on.

Shelly Smith

When we lived in Knoxville we held season passes and it was the absolute best money ever spent for our family! Knoxville zoo may be small compared to others but it's my favorite!! Great experiences and memeories!

Bruce

Surprised my 8 year old daughter with a drive up there from Chattanooga, fantastic zoo, fantastic employees. Had a young giraffe that was really cool to watch.

Adam Nelson

What a great day with the family. Not crowded, good weather and fun exhibits. The kids had a great time.

Peyton Fitzgerald

Enjoy trip to this zoo very much. Animals had great enclosures except the bald eagle. His space was too confined for that majestic of a Bird. Great children friendly zoo.

Kathryn Baumann

Love the Zoo. Been going for 49 years. Remember where the other entrance was and where animals were. Missing some animals what are you going to put in the blocked off area. Use to be polar bears down there. Should bring back "New at the Zoo". Love all the changes. Thank you zoo and everyone who works there. You have a beautiful place for the public to spend a most wonderful day of peace and happiness

Crystal Herbert

There was so much to see and even enough little play areas for the kids to do while the parents relaxed.

Paul Wardell

Great Zoo! Only a couple of animals that were in hiding. Great variety, friendly zoo staff & reasonable ticket prices. Food is a little on the high side. Recommend for anyone with or without kids.

XxRogers2012xX

We loved this zoo! Large varity of anmials and lots of places to sit and eat! Super friendly staff and volunteers! Would reccomend coming in a week day!

Judith Rosenberg

The zoo was great! The splash pad was fun, and the exhibits were great. The monkey and tiger exhibits were my favorite. Had a great time

Travis Tate

Lots of cool animals, friendly staff and good food.

Cody Miller

Animals look well kept and treated fairly. Sometimes some of the enclosures look to be a little dirty but it's off and on. The kids play areas and splash pad is a great addition to the zoo and our daughter always has a blast .

Stephen Kelly

The Knoxville zoo is awesome. A lot of great exhibits. What a great experience for my family and I. The white gibbon was so cool seeing him or her swinging from one place to another. He or she made it look so easy. The tigers and lions were so cool to see. My favorite was the red pandas. We also fed the giraffe. It was five bucks, but worth it. The hyenas were very cool to see. I can just keep going naming the animals, but it would be too long. I also love the east & west layout of the zoo where it is just not no ordinary big boring loop like some zoos. For a city the size of Knoxville, this is an awesome zoo. Better than the one in Nashville in my opinion. Trevor, one of the employees was very nice. He introduced himself to us. He took our family picture of us. Marcia was really nice too teaching us about the Rhinos. Our kids really enjoyed petting the goats as well. We got our exercise in and got to see a bunch of great animals. What more can you ask for. I really do recommend the Knoxville zoo.

Bluee Eyed Jaamiie

Last night was the first time I ever took my children to Boo at the zoo! We all had such a great time and all the workers were very friendly!! Thank you for a wonderful night. ♥️

Tunacrusade

A great zoo to check out if you're in the area. Very reasonable prices and the new restaurant they added is really good.

Michael Garcia

Great zoo. Lots of visibility. Friendly staff.

Benjamin Frost

Love the zoo! Great place to spend a day and take the kids. Educational, fun and who doesn't like being about 5 feet from a red panda!

Lee White

Fun zoo with helpful and friendly staff, plenty of dining and snack options, clean restrooms and a good selection of animals to view.

Tyler Poppy

It's a small zoo, but its very well done. They have a variety of animals and they're constantly improving.

Kris B

Basher is beautiful! This was the best tiger viewing to date! ♥️

Brandi Goforth

Such a great place to visit to see the Zoo animals, and it can also be a great place to visit on a hot day. Don’t forget to pack bathing suits for the littles. The Zoo has a wonderful splash pad for the littles in the back part of the Zoo by the lions and giraffes. We walked around, went to the splash pad to cool off, and then finished walking around the Zoo. Totally worth the trip.

Monique Lambert

We are zoo members. We love our zoo! We live an hour and a half away but love to visit as often as we can. Out of all the zoos we have been to Knoxville is our favorite.

jay Ward

Did the zoo for the first time as a school field trip, sleeping with the beasts. It was okay as a field trip. It was a lot of talking and educational teaching which is great if you have not taught your students any thing about Ecosystems and terrestrial animals. Wished they would have done a scavenger hunt or escape room. Big zoo going back again on my own!

Josh Dyer

The Knoxville Zoo was awesome! I loved the rhinoceros exhibit, and the gorillas. All of the animals were incredible. It was nice they even had Little scooter carts for my father to use, since it was quite a large place with lots to see.

Mikaela Shannon

I have been coming to this zoo for at least 17 years and have great memories here. Some parts can be a little run down but not too drastically. The newer stuff they added is great though and I'm excited to see what they do next.

Zack Field

Beautiful place well designed. A little odd walking through but the enclosures are amazing.

Crystal Prevo

For being 15 minutes away it is easy entertainment. We spent 5 hours here (my 5-year-old and I). Bring lots of suncreen. There is a splash pad for kids... So a swimsuit or trunks is recommended. They do offer a stand in dryer, but it is $5.

Helene Scott

We had a really great time walking through the zoo. Everything was fairly handicapped accessible with the exception of the indoor elephant exhibit the doorway has a tall frame which we couldn't get the wheelchair to go over. A good amount of animals were off for the cold weather. The otter exhibit was being repaired/replaced.

Bob Wharry

Very nice place to visit. Clean and well laid out.

chasity turner

Lovely outing with the family it's currently under a little construction and but no big deal has all the animals just wish we saw some giraffes

Sandy H

Zoo Knoxville is a great little zoo. The grounds are beautiful, the animals are well cared for and it is a great outing for animal lovers of all ages.

Jeanie Burkett

My nieces had a great time and want to go back...

Allison Minton

Really awesome trip. Drove down from Abingdon Va to see the zoo. Was really great. The zoo guys were out talking about the animals and interacting with the tourist and families. Got to feed monkeys and giraffes. Really awesome !!

Rebecca Camerlingo

Zoo was really nice and clean. Felt some of the enclosures are very spaced out and then disappointing when the animal was not there and inside instead. Hoped to see the new giraffe but it was bonding with its mother. Take the camel ride and enjoy running through misting sprayers on a hot day.

Melissa Esquivel

Great experience fyi: they have a safari splash. Bring extra clothes for the little ones.

Danielle Gibson

Been many times but we love all of the new enclosures and exhibits

Aaron Hunley

Plenty of areas to stay cool. It was 98 degrees while we were there, but we never got to hot thanks to all the shade. Took us about 4 hours to go through the whole park. It was really fun. We will go back soon!

Steven Mays

Love the zoo when I was a kid and my favorite was diamond the elephant

Michael Garland

Wonderful Zoo! Been going for over twenty years, first when my kids were little and know with my granddaughters. Always improving and always a great time. Get a family membership. Well worth it!
