REVIEWS OF James Farm Ecological Preserve IN Delaware

Chad Millard

A beautiful preserve with easy to walk trails, not paved but easy to walk with wooden boardwalks leading you to hidden woodsy and beachy gems. Wildlife all around.

‘ CCK5018 ‘

A great place to swim and walk around. Trails in very good condition, and you can actually swim out very far until you cannot stand. You can see a lot of horseshoe crabs as well as other wildlife, like clams. Overall, I like this place a lot because it is a hidden gem, and not discovered by the public yet. A great place overall.

Victor Beltran

Beautiful little hideaway from all the tourist traps to the east. The hike through the pine forest is fantastic. Watch out for the briars.

I have been taking my dogs to this park to run in the bay water off leash for years. I am extremely disappointed this year. There are several signs advising that dogs must be leashed at all times. So many families bring there dogs here and it has always been a great and friendly experience but apparently they no longer allow dogs to run in the water or down the beach. While I am extremely disappointed the paths are well kept and the park is clean. When a beach/park/town says they are dog friendly they typically allow dogs off leash. For anyone reading reviews and looking for a “dog friendly” beach , Dewey beach is a dog friendly beach town. Off season dogs can run off leash at anytime and in season dogs can be off leash before 9:30am and after 5:30pm. Unfortunately, this beach is not nice enough to come to without a dog but if you are just looking to walk the trails it is nice. If anyone else feels the way I do, I ask that you voice your opinion here and see if we can allow dogs to run free again at least at the beach.

Every time I go here with my family, I get stung by a jelly fish. One year I asked a staff member if there were jelly’s in the water and she said no. About 2 hours later I had been stung all up my arm, side, and leg. Do not recommend.
