One of New York’s greatest treats. The perfect escape from the city for photography and or family. The membership is worth it considering how large it is and two trips pretty much for it. They have added 2 sky trail experiences. One inside the zoo that comes with admission and the other outside which comes at an extra cost...and a zip line experience over the Bronx River! The residents are treated well and the staff is awesome. Highly recommend.

Haripriya Sivaraman

Amazing and a well maintained zoo, covering wide variety of animals. If you have children, they would enjoy the most. If you are planning to be a frequent visitor, it’s better to get the membership - saves you money. Their restaurant is pricey $$. It’s better to get your food especially if your a vegetarian.

Such an amazing zoo! So much to see n do! Loved it n cant wait to go back!

Brian Posnack

This place is for the birds...and lions and tigers and bears...oh my! Had a great time. Some of the animals need to have better viewing angles (rhinos) but overall it was great to see the various animals. Park and facilities were clean. Some bathrooms could use a refurbishment.

Joseph Guilbert

The Bronx zoo was great my grandson had a great time the dinosaur safari is a must see. I want to go back because theirs a few exhibits I didn't get to see, and also new ones their working on. all in all it was a great experience.

Briana Osuna

Great zoo! From LA so this was definitely a great tourist attraction. Wednesdays are free (not sure if year round). I would recommend taking the day for this place!

Raine Maz

Very impressed at how clean this place is. Love to see the animals have beautiful enclosures and you are actually very close to a lot of them. Slightly disappointed that there were not any chameleons in reptile house, and the tigers were no where to be found. We also wish it stayed open a little later. It took us about 2 hours to get here (lots of traffic) & its difficult to see all of the exhibits in 4.5 hours, especially if you need to stop & eat. We were happy to visit here, since we loved the show on Animal Planet

Kim Lau

The Bronx Zoo definitely lives up to the largest Metropolitan zoo in the US. The exhibits are very well designed. Must get the total experience package. Great customer service. We went here on a Monday and not all the eateries were opened. So make sure you get food the first eatery you see that is open.

Karen Kong

The Bronx zoo is a great place to visit, and it has an amazing variety of animals to see. There are peacocks just walking around and they are gorgeous! Some of the animals there include lions- and when we went they weren’t just sleeping, they were walking around and interacting with each other! There were tigers, rhinoceros, and so many birds to see. Definitely worth a visit.

Navin Brohier

Really really fun zoo! The World of birds was great, so many pretty animals, lots of great photo ops. The asia jungle monorail was also very very cool! And the staff working it were very knowledgeable about their animals! Definitely need a full day or more for this place! I'll definitely come back to explore the rest of it.

The Bronx Zoo is one of the members of the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) along with the New York Aquarium,Central Park Zoo, Queens Zoo and Prospect Park Zoo are dedicated to bringing great zoological experiences to the masses. They are succeeding in their mission indeed. Two weeks ago we visited the NY Aquarium and thoroughly enjoyed the exhibitions and we continued our zoological journey today at the Bronx Zoo.The dedicated professionals at both venues work to help you appreciate Wildlife Conservation and it's larger role in our ecological systems around the globe.I definitely recommend visiting any of these great institutions soon.Make sure you bring along as many family members as you can because there is something for young and old to see and learn. The monorail is a treat as the driver also doubles as a very knowledgeable tour guide as you travel through the park and the various animal enclosure.A real treat and worth the price of admission.

Scott Sitler

Parking hard to find. Almost $24 for 3 12 oz sodas and 3 small bags of chips reason for only 4 stars. Animals were active and park employee's were very friendly. Did have a military discount which was nice.

Willis Brienza

If you like Sea Lions, Lemurs, and Reptiles then this is a good zoo for you, just about every other animal was either sleeping or no where to be found. They also have about 20 animals you can only see if you pay $7 for the exhibit! Enjoyed the day with my girlfriend, but definitely not a zoo we would want to see again for the price of admission.

Thandolwethu Jele

Outside seeing animals, it's a great place for long walks. I loved seeing the birds. The reptile enclosure was also fascinating. I was bummed I couldn't see the camels (it started raining).

Dilnoza Nabiyeva

You may to spend a whole day there. It's nice place , where we can meet a lot of different animals, and take care of them. Everything very organized, staff frendly and nice! Awesome place for kids. Definitely recommend! By the way Wednesday general admission is free!

Steven scb

As far as zoo's go this one has about everything you could hope for. The tiger and gorilla exhibit are really something and there are lots of food and beverage options, you can even get beer which is great. The only downside is that this zoo is very big and VERY spread out, so if you want to see everything it means a lot of walking which can be very hard for kids under 10.

Ronald Vandegrift

My favorite zoo. I make the 90 minute drive and it never disappoints. The zoo membership that I got earlier in the year has been my favorite purchase. My only complaint is that food is pricey especially when you are paying for a family (happens everywhere though). My family has made 5 or six trips and the kids always have fun.

David DeJesus

One of the great Zoos in the country but I actually prefer the Beardsley Zoo in Connecticut. The new Dinosaur Safari ride was really cool but besides that I'd much rather go to Beardsley. Easier parking, cheaper, the animals seem happier, and there are more staff members walking around answering questions and demonstrating exhibits.

Lucas Alberts

The Bronx zoom is a great zoo with lots of attractions. There is something for everyone and it is great for a family visit. I will say that it is not a cheap zoo so if you are trying to visit on a budget you might want to look elsewhere. I particularly liked the seal and sea lion exhibit. It is free and the animals are very playful! They also have a lot of peacocks and peahens.

Nick Mitkov

The Zoo is great. A lot of animals to see. The only bad thing is the food! It was disgusting!!! But other than that it's worth it to spend a day there.

Meagan Robbins

I think the family membership is very worth it. We went a few times during the season and a few times during the off season. A lot is closed for the winter but it's not crowded and still entertaining.

xoxoxo.ashley

I really enjoyed the zoo. The staff were very nice. And it’s a great place to just spend time with your family

aniart79

It truly is an experience every single time we go and what makes it more wonderful is being a member. No lines for us at every entrance, discounts on everything we purchase! Whether we go Monday through Friday or even the weekends and today we had young staff nothing but smiles and say have a wonderful or a great time and It made my day!

Julie Nieves

I always love the zoo very much. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Even though it is colder and most of the animals are away. I got to hear a lion roar. Awesome!

Rosa Martinez Suazo

Always a great time at the zoo. I have been a member for a while now. This time we went for Boo At The Zoo and we had a blast. The candy trail was limited but fun along with the parade and hay maze (which was a lot confusing at some points and was really short). The activities throughout were really fun. The mind reading and magic show was awesome !!!! We are looking forward to the new activity with lights at the zoo this winter!

Vashista Amarjit

they have a lot of animals and its a super educational experience. It just sucks that they charge extra for the nice exhibits. Also its very crowded and filled with people struggling to wrangle their children. But that's to be expected, it is the zoo after all

Linda R

The animals are awesome. The zoo is nice to walk through. The monorail was nice when we got tired of walking. Er had a great day.

huma shabi

Bravo....such a good place to enjoy your weekend with family and friends. Try zip line also. I did it was a fun

Michele Pacheco

Went to the Bronx Zoo with my kids and friends on a Monday and it was the best day of the week to go. Not super crowded and the weather was awesome! We also did the Total Experience which is definitely worth it! I Highly recommend!

Mona Waltuch

It was a good place, the zoo animals are great and there are plenty to see. You can bring your own lunch and there are plenty of places to seat and eat. Get ready there is a lot of walking. It was a good time.

Sylvia Pires

Was a great day at the Bronx Zoo . The place is very organized. All the animals are very well taken of. I recommend everyone go there with friends and family. ❤

sara dz

This visit was my first visit to a zoo and I am happy I went somewhere that animals feel like they are home. For those who have children it could be a one day adventureous ,educational trip. Don't forget strollers for your kids, otherwise they can't enjoy much. I really enjoyed Madagascar part. Remember animals are asleep at noon especially lion, bears and snow leopard so try to be there sooner. Additionally it is free on Wednesdays.

John Gallucci

One of the prettiest zoo's I've ever visited. Its clean, well maintained, just beautiful, we had a great day. On the down side...its not cheap,$17.00 to park the car $70.00 to get in, that includes some extras. So bring your credit cards. We spent $30.00 on lunch, chicken sandwich and chicken nuggets 2 drinks.

Nursey613 Book

It was ever better than I remember. The animals are all healthy and the exhibits are well maintained. It's great for all ages.

Randee Nadler

Nice grounds. Animals seems well cared for but bored. Children's zoo hasn't changed in 40 years. Enjoyed the day. Parking $17. Prices high...but worth it.

Karen Ramirez

The zoo itself was nice. The zoo fees are to expensive. Sad that they don't have a huge discounts for military retirees, my husband served 24 years, 3 years (911, Afghanistan, Iraq war and only got a 10% discount. The appreciation for protecting this country deserves alot more respect.

Emily Wilson

Loved it. The day was cloudy and rainy, but it did not stop us. Passed the big route. The beasts look great. Each type is given maximum attention. Large and large - large territory and large aviaries But for children I liked the fact that there is a place for full contact with animals. You can iron and feed. Many faucets with water for washing hands. There are also places for snacking and rest. After all, a walk through the zoo will take a lot of time. From 1.5 to 3.5 hours. And some will have a mall all day long. In general, I advise you to take with you more water and a small snack.

rash aroskar

Bronx zoo is no doubt one of the biggest zoo I have visited. There are many animals and animals are kept well. The lookout for many animals though does not give good peak at the animals. The asian section has camel ride, which was great. To see all other animals in the section one has to take monorail. Personally I would have liked to walk around.

Hetvi G

The greatest place ever. I advice u guys to plan the animals u wanna see b4 u go there. It is a really big. I need to go again as we couldn't see everything in one day.

Ryan Malloy

A great place to spend the day especially in October. Many kids are dressed up in costumes and they have Halloween parade in candy give away. So much to do, hard to take ot all in in one day. Local tip: go to the jungle world monorail early or late in the day as the line can get long mid day.

Janae Banks

I’ve always wanted to go to the Bronx Zoo and it did not disappoint! The animals were great, Park was clean and the servers were very friendly! Can’t wait to bring my kids here!

Varun Iyengar

Well curated and informative exhibits. Great layout with most walkways covered with shade. An opportunity to see some very rare species. Price of admission is high and premium exhibits cost extra. Wild Asia monorail was a fun and relaxing way to see some cool animals. The zoo is too big to get through in one day though.

anita hari

I really enjoyed the Dinosaur Safari! I have been to the Bronx Zoo numerous times but I never tire of it. A great place to just feel like a kid again.

Hipolito Romero

Awesome place to spend the day. Do as much or as little as you want. The signs and exhibits are very well spaced apart in this clean, educational and fun place in the Bronx. Each time I go there, I get another memorable experience.

Zeena Gupta

Always a fun place to go with the family. Looking into getting the kids more involved behind the scenes with the animals! :)

Mr Coughlan

Excellent Zoo.. We went on a Wednesday, and you pay what you want. We bought the tickets that have you the extra stuff like the monorail, dinosaur tour etc. I wouldn't have wanted to pay for these individually; none of them would've been worth the $4 or whatever it was! Really good selection of lizards and the like, loved it!

Kelly Leary

I went here with my family and the children in our family were very happy with this place. They enjoyed themselves and got to learn so much. The kids were so happy that they keep on asking about our next visit.

Anusha Kumar

We love this place so much we visit more often ... We visited 4 times in 2 years.. we love the walk.. still we dint cover the tree top adventure. Will visit again

Mindi Schooley

It was a great experience paying regular rates, they do try to dbl their money for the whole experience though. We only missed out on the African area which included the elephants. But still saw lions, tigers and bears. Along with giraffes n some monkeys. Wonderful Bird World!

jonathan montano

Absolutely the BEST zoo I have visited. I’ve been to the San Francisco, Dallas, Albuquerque zoo. The Bronx zoo blows them all out of the park. The Congo part... wow. Fabulous. We were in aw seeing the gorilla exhibit. Definitely buy the ticket where you can see everything. At the beginning of the park, I really thought I was going to be disappointed. The monarail was broken the day we went. I really wish we could have used it, but it’s fine.

NATASHA T

This zoo is extremely expensive that's why I'm giving it 3 stars plus it's in osh kosh land. However you need an entire day to see everything. I went there late and barely saw nothing at all. Extremely disappointed. Please call ahead for hours and prices. Also if you are disabled call for options. They have vehicles and wheelchairs for disabled people but when I called last they stated last they said they had something like close to 4 for the whole park for the day. That's not much. I'm sure they go quickly. Please ✔. Enjoy your visit! It's a gorgeous zoo!

Krystal Brand

Better than expected!! Hadn't been there in literally 2 decades. There was so much to do that it would have taken us at least 2 days to see just our favorite/starred areas. We went on a Tuesday and spent the night at a nearby hotel in the hopes of returning Wednesday, the day they offer free general admission...but it rained and we didnt want our young girls to "ruin" their perception of the zoo! Will definitely be returning.

Robert Garcia

Amazing zoo that provides great resources for its animals and guests. It's a non profit organization that truly tries their best to ensure guests have a memorable experience no matter how many times they have visited!

Shannon Wenning

This is a fabulous zoo!! I had never been here before and it was a real treat. Be aware that if you get the most basic ticket it doesn't get you into all the cool extra things. You can buy a ticket that includes everything and that's what we did. The monorail was really awesome. The exhibits were all really well done except for the giraffe exhibit. They had 6 in a small indoor enclosure, I'm hoping they had an outdoor area and we just missed it. But all the other exhibits were fantastic. If you're in the area I definitely recommend stopping by and checking it out!! Food is reasonable price, alcohol is available. Great trip and you'll easily spend all day there!

Nathan MacCarter

Took the family to the Bronx Zoo. All the animal exhibits were top notch. We really enjoyed the Giraffes, Congo (gorillas), and Camel rides. The new Dinosaur ride also a good time. Biggest complaint was the large crowds - but hey this is New York and to be expected.

Charlene Bee

One of the largest zoos I've visited ever. So much to see, so much to do. I would've liked to see more signs in the parking lot as to where to go to enter. We had to find one of the parking attendants to guide us in the right direction. Make sure you bring your walking shoes and plenty of water. Good thing is, when you get tired of walking, there's a shuttle to take you around the property.

Nadelyn Pichardo

My school does a trip here once a year every year. The kids seem to really enjoy it and so do I. It seems like the more we go the more I am able to see. Sometimes it can be easy to get lost but other than that it is fine

Ivelisse Vazquez

I love the zoo, been visiting since I was a child. I need to read the visitor info better next time. I did not know you had to pay for the "full" experience. (To see everything) we saw what we could and left, until next time when we will be better prepared and see all of what the zoo has to offer. Very clean property. The restrooms are eco-friendly. Wonderful, helpful staff and friends of the zoo volunteers. Still such a beautiful place.

Louis' Designs and Rides

We visited the zoo and went to the Dinosaur Safari. It was AMAZING! I liked it as much as my 2 year old son... maybe even a little bit more. We have an annual membership so it only cost $4 each adult. The dinosaurs were life sized, full scale and super lifelike. The guide was fantastic and it was such an enjoyable ride around the park. Can’t wait to go back.

Nicola Glitz

Just got back from this amazing place! Best zoo by far that I've even been too! Visiting from Canada for a family vacation. There was hardly anyone there and our 4 hours there flew by far too fast!

Sandrine Joëlle Petit

We think you should go. I have visited several world-class zoos and the Bronx Zoo lives up to the standard. It is both retro and modern, with its old beautiful buildings and its more up-to-date installations. It takes you away and does a wonderful job of letting you forget that you are in a huge metropolis. The more notable attractions are the Congo area where you can get up close with gorillas and they do a fine job of explaining their conservation efforts, and the Jungle area. I also enjoyed watching the enormous tortoises but the rhinoceroses clearly had decided that today wasn't a good day to hang out on the people side of their enclosure. We found the monorail ride to be a nice way to end the day when we were getting tired. If I had anything negative to say, it would be about the food offerings. The only food we found was fast food. It wouldn't hurt to have healthier choices, and perhaps a vegetarian option. If you have a day with nothing to do in New York City, it isn't a bad idea to get on the subway (and a bus) and make your way up to the Bronx to visit the animals, but try to get up early. The zoo opens at 10 and closes around 5 and you will definitely need that time to see all it has to offer. We got there around 11:30 and we didn't see everything.

Alio TheFool

One of my favorite places to go ever. The zoo is huge. The monorail is always worth the ride. World of Darkness is awesome (I love bats).

Nicola Glitz

Just got back from this amazing place! Best zoo by far that I've even been too! Visiting from Canada for a family vacation. There was hardly anyone there and our 4 hours there flew by far too fast!

Mike Montavo

Amazing! Love the zoo but get your walking shoes ready. So much to see, so map out what you really want to see. Get a discount on tickets if you have triple AAA get the total Experiance tickets and you get unlimited attractions. If you watch the zoo on animal planet you can also see and talk to some of the participants on the show. Stay away from weds which is a free day. Gets very crowded.

Aaron Ross

The Bronx Zoo never disappoints. Over 600 species of animals spanning about a ½ a square mile. There are camel rides, a shuttle train, and the Skyfari gondola buckets. They have a Nature Trek, which had bridges to cross and an imaginative play area at the end. This place is not for the budget conscious. Just to park is $17. A family of four starts at $100, that said, so much fun to be had. I do not recommend navigating the big packed Wednesday crowds to save on entry, especially in the summer. If a more personal experience is your thing, try the penguin, sloth, or fennec connection for about $50 and for ages 6+.

Latrice Lloyd

Always a nice time at the BX Zoo. The Children's Zoo is a lot of fun, even for adults. The tram is also a nice way to see some animals. Make sure you bring water and comfortable shoes because this place is huge! Admissions on Wednesdays are free which is always great if you don't mind some crowds.

Symone Simms

The Bronx Zoo is such a wonderful place to spend with your family! If going on the weekend bring your patience

rae alikaj

irritated with the odd flow of the tram stops + that the monorail closed so early... also the concrete was uncomfortable to tread on the entire time... otherwise, some of the exhibits in the houses were old + smelly but the decorative touches on the buildings facades + old style cages were quite beautiful

sophia kab

It is a fun place for little ones and adults but be warned. Weekends, holidays and Wednesdays it is very crowded especially during the holiday season. Food is overpriced and not that great so pack your own and wear your walking shoes.

Madeline Mullan

A well run zoo .Enjoy the Experience. Only thing I found no wheelchair Excess suitable. Need Automatic doors .

amanda meininger

One of the best zoo's I've been to. I love that they do a lot of research there and really take care of their animals. Little disappointed by the dinosaur tour but it was still fun

Central JerseyResident

Great place. Lot of Exhibits. Love the place. Lions..tigers..elephants..reptiles you name it. It is like real jungle...nice monorail..nice shuttle..affordable tickets..very educational. Only think I did not like it using camels for raiding..ever for adults..please stop camel raids ..or keep it for little kids. Congo Gorilla exhibit..Asia jungle arr the best. One day is not enough to cover ..

Mike Grisman

Great way to spend a day, my kids (ages 5 and 7) had an absolute blast! The zoo is enormous, you won't be able to cover it one day, but it was still a lot of fun. They have great exhibits, the 3D movie was a lot of fun too, my 5 year old loved it! I think it's one of the biggest zoos in the world

Nikita Kud

This Zoo is just phenomenal. It is easy to navigate around, covered in trees so it didn’t feel hot even when it was 96 degrees outside, very clean, has lots of restrooms and food spots and so on. The place is beautiful and the animals look happy. Really enjoy my time when I’m here. Thanks to everyone who takes care of the animals and keeps this place the way it is.

Brad Pollard

great place, lines weren’t awful in mid-September. pricey but the kids had a good time. tons to see- plan on it being all day.

Ron Allen

The zoo was a lot bigger than I thought and we did lots of walking. We were there at 10:00 when they opened and left at 5:00 when they closed. There was lots of places to eat and shop. You could bring your own food and drink for a picnic, they have lots of picnic tables as well. Lots of animals everywhere. A must see place for the whole family. Wear good walking shoes and have a camera for those great memories.

Raphael Okutoro

I was a bit disappointed. The ticket sales online could be for Central Park Zoo. We had to buy additional tickets at the gate. However, the company was kind enough to refund my online purchase. It's really become commercialized. Don't recommend going in the summer. The animals are too hot, so they mostly stay indoors or don't want to be bothered; I don't blame them. Fall or Spring is best. Wanted our child to have the experience, but would have had to pay extra. Didn't see the Gorillas. You'd pay extra for that. Still an iconic place for me personally, and hat off to the hardworking zoo staff. Tough job!

Ruben Wilson

Like I tell people before, this zoo is wonderful. Beautiful is in the eye of the beholder. But if you want to have a good time you must go to the Bronx Zoo on Wednesdays, because the Bronx Zoo is " FREE " . go have a wonderful good time and please take your love one's with you. Come see your people that have been locked up for so many many many years.

Cristina DeSantis

LOVE this zoo! My favorite place to take friends and family of all ages. 100% a full day trip so make sure to get there early if you want to see everything. Make sure you buy the full experience tickets also because it is so so worth it. The tickets include my personal favorite: the gorillas!!! There is no “exhibit” like this that I have seen at any zoo I have visited. It is more of an all inclusive experience as you feel like you are walking through the Congo before you get to the main gorilla exhibit, which is massive. The experience tickets also include another favorite of mine which is the Children’s Zoo but is really for all ages. You see more basic animals in this exhibit but there are fun ways to experience the animals such as the prairie dogs exhibit where you can poke your head up and see them up close. There are tons of other photo ops along the way, including a “spider web” which kids climb on and other fun play areas including a slide for kids. Next, you enter a farm area where (of course) you get to feed the animals! Of course the children’s zoo is more catered towards kids but it’s fun for all ages. (Side note: I wouldn’t recommend going to the zoo on Wednesday because it’s free & extremely crowded. However, if you do want the free deal, get there realllyyyy early so you don’t have to wait on a long slow line!)

Denise Vargas

Great place for the entire family. Had an amazing visit. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, and if on a budget, bring your own snacks.

Frances Okutoro

Amazing place. Was super hot outside but the trees created lots of shade. Wonderful staff and my daughter loved it.

steve

What a great time ! Bring food and water. Comfortable shoes and hat are a must. Park anywhere and start walking. The total experience pass is suggested if you're going to 3 or more attractions. Shuttle where u can . Just *try* not to smile , impossible !!

Buba Perez

It's always a go to place for a nice time with family. Wednesday's you can go with reduced prices, or free, which ever you prefer. Definitely recommend, do not go on (really) hot days though, not a good idea. Some people can handle it, but I don't recommend it, especially if you're gonna walk. But it's a nice environment, with lots of space. And employees are great also.

William Welch

We love the zoo. We have been coming here for at least 10 years, a few times every year. It never disappoints. Very clean and well maintained. The animal enclosures are big and spacious.

Ivan Yang

Didn't have high expectation entering this zoo. But to my surprise, Bronx Zoo is really amazing. The zoo is kept really clean. It offers so many animals that are so unique and endangered that you don't see at other zoos, including World famous San Diego Zoo.

Kasey Salazar

Well kept. Love the peacocks and peahens free roaming. Parking was $17 on a Monday, don't know if it's more on the weekend. Fairly large so, it will take most of the day to visit.

Oscar Gutierrez

Honestly it's always an amazing time. You definitely need 2 days to see everything though. There is so much to see and do ! Can't wait to bring back my kids

Lucais Horsley

My kids (13 & 16) and I, plus my sister and brother in law spent the day at the Bronx Zoo celebrating my son's birthday. It had been quite a few years since we had been so we figured it was time. The Bronx Zoo never disappoints. The animals are a plenty and we definitely get our walking in. I like that everything we wanted to do is included in the Total Experience so we don't have to worry. There are plenty of rest rooms and places to eat, although the cost of food is ridiculous. We drive about 90 minutes to get there but it's worth it. Personally, I feel as though the parking should be included in the price of entry (additional $15).

Amdad D Arshad

The best zoo I have ever been too. It's one of the largest zoo in the country and it's free on Wednesday. The experience pass is worth it on Wednesday where it's only $15 a person instead of the usual $35 bucks.

Karen Stoner

Went here on a class trip. The staff their are wonderful they are so nice and helpful and informative. This is my second time their and both times were great experiences. All the animals here look healthy and happy. The gorilla section is always my favorite they are just so happy and funny. Will continue to go back.

Irene Valdenegro

First time in New York during winter I went. Second time in New York during summer I went. Both times were incredible, but summer it's just another level. And tickets are somedays free or with a donation but anyways it is great zoo.

Kourtney Adams

Huge zoo! So many animals, but the amount and people and lack of personal space can be annoying. It just shows you how many people go there and how many people enjoy it. I want to go back here.

Sonia Ortiz

Love The Bronx Child... Have been enjoying going there since a child... Just wish they would lower their entrance fee... Can't go as often as I wish!

Jennifer Harris

Fantastic place to spend the day. You can almost forget that you're in the city. There is a great children's zoo that offers the opportunity for play and a terrific Nature Trek that allows kids to climb and cross bridges and explore. The gorilla exhibit is incredible!

Suvankar Roy

We visited on a Wednesday and i thought that entry is free on this day but it was not. But they do have discounted tickets for this day which includes the main attractions like the Congo gorilla forest, asian safari in the monorail etc. Great place to visit with children and to be enjoyed by all

Scuba Steve

Very big and well maintained zoo. Can easily spend a whole day here. Its just a little pricey and general admission doesn’t cover the Congo exhibit, children’s zoo or safari ride.

Sandrine Joëlle Petit

D Manning

Cool place to come with the children. I brought my children over the summer on donation Wednesdays. They had a good time. The food is very expensive so eat before you come. I paid for the experience passes for the kids, it was nice.

Ron

Lots of fun. I would advise you take the monorails and the train for a nice assortment of exhibits without walking around the entire zoo. The zoo has tons of animals to check out from all over the world. Bring water and snacks or buy them from the near by deli

John Vee

We love the this zoo, we go as often as we can. It is hard to believe this oasis is in the heart of one of our biggest cities. There is fun for guests of any age.

Sharon Sarge

What a nice zoo. Animals are housed in areas very like their orginal habitat. Some of the animals have been saved from extinction by the efforts of the zoo keepers. We ate lunch at the Dancing Crane cafe and the food was good. There are several places to buy a quick meal or a snack. Plan to spend a long day here because there are so many species to see.

Amanda Carper

Wonderful zoo. It's a great place to spend the day with family and friends. Not only do you get to see the animals you also get to learn about them and what you can do to help save them.

Nicolas Chantier

This Zoo is great. The only problem is it's too big to be able to do everything you can do a 1 day TEX ticket. They closed the park before we could do everything we wanted. And we were here at 10.00 with tickets purchased in advance.

Helen DeSantis

Such an amazing experience. As a teacher, we really enjoyed the educational approach that the Bronx Zoo has given us over the years. We take the class once a year and they never let down. Well organized and just enjoyable to us all. Especially the kids.

Another no school day, we whole family go to the BROXN ZOO together,it’s so funny even raining. The zoo is known for its large and diverse animal collection and its award-winning exhibitions. The main exhibit in the park is the Congo Gorilla ,Northeast Tiger and Chinese alligator from China, as well as tigers, lions, white rhinoceros, giraffes, crocodiles, etc. And the there are also many animals from the hot jungle world and the African plains. Oh, did you see Peacock walking in the middle of the road before? Anyway, my first time.Worth trip[呲牙]

Isaac Nelson

All around great place for children in terms of entertainment and education. Solid exhibits, but I do wish the animals had more space to roam. The annual pass is definitely worth while if you visit multiple times a year. Easy to navigate with a stroller. Not the best food options, so bring your own healthy snacks if you want them.

Sahil Mehta

It was a fun park and day, but the fact that they make you pay extra for select options is dreadful. Luckily I got the “total experience” and thankful I did since certain things actually would’ve made or break the visit, but with certain situations like the lions sleeping or the bears hiding, it ruins the trip and makes the rest of the visit boring. However, the total experience is completely recommended. It allows you to ride the shuttle and see the gorillas. If you go, make sure you get it.

Gourmet Traveler

Best zoo ever. Lots of great animals, rides for the kids and places to sit down because there is a lot of walking. Skip the kiosks that sell food. Eat at the main restaurant. Lots more healthy choices.

Lin Yihsun

Very very great experiences in this zoo!!! A lot of shades and very comfortable paths to walk on. Very friendly staff and knowledgeable keepers. Feeding shows were very fun to watch. They have stuffed animals of those rare species in the zoo. Very good souvenirs. The zoo is really doing a lot of work to try to preserve those endangered animals. Part of the admission fees go to those researches and preservation work. We all had great time there though there were so many things to see in one day that we missed Dinosaur Safari and Asia Monorail.... You can buy tickets online and get 20% off discount with the code they give you online.

ann marie vavricka

Absolutely a must see! A lot of walking but well worth it. If you plan to return a second time in the same 12 months it's worth it to buy a membership! I bought ours 6 years ago and have never regretted it. Keep in mind that Weds. are usually free but park admission is first come first serve and limited. Also remember the park closes generally at 5pm However the animals go in for the evening around 430 so make sure that thou are all thou want to fit in prior to 430 otherwise you (your little ones)may be disappointed. Food is a bit expensive but you are allowed to bring your own! Souvenirs range in price from $3 - $80 but generally speaking can get something decent for between $10-$15. Pack your sunscreen and some patients.. pile everyone into the car and head on or to one of the greatest day trips one can experience! Have a great time as we have so many times!

Haroula F

Amazing place huge one, clean. Liked the fact that they simulated the natural environment of each animal they have. Ok Wednesday’s it’s free to walk around and has a special deal for activities. A must see when visiting New York.

Ta Jones

I took my class here for a school trip and they absolutely loved it! They had so much fun and really enjoyed themselves. It was a very enjoyable day.

Carlos Contreras

Visited during a cold snowy day. Beautiful! Really nice place to visit during a day off to have a good time.

John

As tourists we found the zoo to be a very worthwhile. We had a brilliant day out in the Bronx Zoo, loved the Congo area the best, it was a very hot day when we arrived but they have plenty of shaded areas. The bird sanctuary was also excellent. Food court was OK but kinda a bit pricey but then again it is a major tourist attraction. We got here just before 10 and still had a small queue but not much. Overall I'd highly recommend a visit if your in New York.

Great place to take the kids. My daughter loved the children's zoo and feeding the goats!

Kate Riola

The Bronx Zoo was an amazing place to bring my 2 and four year old. It was so interactive and the Children’s Zoo within the park was unbelievable. I would highly recommend it. Especially, in the fall with all the great Halloween and Fall activities they offer.

LIJU JOHN

Experience was beyond expected... Wednesdays are free (they will ask if you wanna donate any amount) but have to pay for parking that is $17 and not all attractions are free on Wednesday like dinosaur exhibit other days are $14 per person...ok if you just wanna see animals Wednesday is perfect not so crowded. Make sure its not raining and do visit on a sunny day. Get ready to walk yes you gonna walk a lot if you wanna see all animals.

Andy Ng

After living in the city for more than a decade, I finally made a day visit to the Bronx Zoo. What a delightful visit featuring many animals and creatures from around the world to learn about. Fortunately most walking paths are under the shade making for an enjoyable walk on a hot summer day. Be sure to arrive early in the day if you plan to cover all areas as the grounds are expansive.

長瀬彩織

It is completely different from Japanese zoos. So wide. There's no way to see the whole zoo in one day. Just taking a walk is fun. I want to visit this zoo again.

Tracy Crowther

This was the first time I have ever been to the zoo and it was amazing. My boys loved it. We are going to come back again because we didn't get to see everything.

Cristen Ryan

If I could live at the Bronx Zoo, I may. That’s how much I love it! The work that the people here are doing for wildlife conservation is very special and remarkable. Everyone should visit and support this beautiful place!

Anthony Martelli

I have been coming to the Bronx Zoo since I was two years old. I’m 66 now. I was very impressed by Deborah M on the tram today. All the times I’ve been coming, here she was one of the most pleasant and informative people that I have met. She is seasonal but I feel she should be made full time. Her nature and mannerisms were outstanding. Also there should be a pickup spot near the World Of Birds. Thanks.

Divya P

It's a very vast zoo having so many animals in it. Best time to visit is on Monday, Tuesday or else on Saturday but if you go on other days expect huge crowd especially on Wednesday on which you have free general admission. Better to plan the zoo parking area as it saves time to get the zoo entrance tickets else you have stand for hours in the queue for getting tickets. Get zoo map to roam around the zoo which saves time n also helps you to not to miss important things which you wanted to visit. Better get your own food or drinks as food is very costly in zoo .

Simone Kosik

we were extra excited to visit the Bronx zoo. we have visited zoo's from San Diego to Orlando and I will say the Bronx zoo has the best bird display we have seen . the zoo it self lacked signage a lot of the enclosures were empty and there was few place to feed our family anything in the park very disappointed about that considering we don't live in New York. we loved how the park was shaded by the great forest and there was plenty of places to sit. we unfortunately didn't get a lot of assistance from employees in the grounds but had a great experience in the gift shop. would I come back. I don't really think so once in my life time is ok, to bad though I had some high expectations.

jake horth

Pretty cool. The price of things was confusing because the signs said we had to pay more to see the gorillas but I guess there are different ticket levels. We didnt go to the gorillas because we thought we would have to pay more but we had the tickets to get in everywhere.

Conor Hale

Boo at the Zoo was lovely. As always, the Monorail was enjoyable but moreso with a guide dressed as a pirate who joked a bit and showed genuine care for the animals and his job.

Alex K

The best zoo I have ever been to. I arrived on a Tuesday immediately when the zoo opened. There were barely any people there until later. I spent the whole day exploring all of the animals. It's a large property so wear comfortable shoes, since there will be a lot of walking.

Sandra Silva

Always a really enjoyable day out with my toddler. Been going since he was an infant. It's clean. Has so much to do and learn about. The tram is a must! The rope course is super fun. Get the membership. It pays for itself in 1 visit.

Blackdust09

Go on a Wednesday early in the morning at least once for free entrance. Get there before it's crowded and it's honestly a great time but I recommend spending money or getting like a membership or something treat yourself . Also don't but any food there everything is overpriced and mediocre.

EVELYN CINTRON

Live it here. Best place for family activity. Wear comfortable shoes. Lots of walking. Bring you own basket, food Courts are pricey...don't think it's worth it. Oh btw Wednesday's is free entry day but most animals aren't available however there's PLENTY to see anyway. Plus its creating moments for the memories to share.

Anakarina Gonzalez

The Monorail is probably one of the best attractions. You get to see so many animals that you would normally not be able to see with GA. Also the pavilion with the cutest little monkeys and the crazy cool looking type of crocodile and the huge fish are super awesome to see. Only complaint is that they close way too early. Once it hit 5:00 is when it really started to cool down to where we could actually enjoy things and not feel uncomfortable from the heat but other than that it was a very fun experience!

Alex Kogan

This is by far one of the largest and most diverse zoos that I have been to. We live in Brooklyn, NY and go every summer with the kids. This is a great family place but is also fun for couples. Make sure you take the tram ride around the park and go to the Congo section to get the full experience.

Ai No

Hadn't been there in years ... and it was more expensive... BUT the price includes almost all attractions n rides. It was 3 adults n 1 child under 2. ..cant remember if we paid for her but it was over $100 ... bring your lunch!

Benji Robison

Loved it. Went there during the summer on a free day. It was packed but I expected that. Very nice though. Must see.

Anthony Lalli

Fun place to go and spend the day and lots to see. The monorail is worth the ride and it's a good time. Reasonable price and right off the highway and easy access to the parking lot. Bring your walking shoes cause you will do alot of walking. And you can bring a bag with some snacks and drinks

J.D. B.

We had an great time! This place is huge! We arrived at 10 am when the Zoo opened and did not leave until 30 mins before its 5:30pm closing time and we still could have easily used 4 more hours to see more habitats. The Dinosaur Safari and Asian Monorail are a must.

Ed Loz

Visiting Bronx Zoo with kids is always fun. Especially if you have membership or can afford total experience. It will grant you access to almost every park item (marked yellow on the current map) and you don't have to wait in line.

Chris Makowski

We have visited Zoos all over the country and think the Bronx is one of the best. Plenty of animals to see and things to do. If you plan on visiting the Bronx, this is definitely worth the visit. We also were surprised on how responsible the food and stuff in the shops were compared to other zoos.

Damaris Nevarez

I had a great experience, it was a little overwhelming at first since it was our first time there and the place is huge. We paid over $40 each for adults and were able to so everything in the zoo from riding the train to entering other exhibits. It's worth paying for the full experience. It took us roughly 4 hours and we still had 2 more exhibits to see that we missed because of thunder and lightning. Overall it was a great experience and we cannot wait to go back to see the ones we missed.

Gia Sterling

Hands down the best zoo on the East coast! No question...its massive. So, wear your trainers and get trekking. Dont forget to bring a sizable snack or two. There's loads to see. Cheers all!

Alka Anand

Nice zoo but very few animals. However we loved the bird varieties. Most of them I haven't seen before. I just want to add that if you are vegetarian please bring your own food as there is hardly 2/3 options for vegetarian and no pizza isn't one of them.

This Zoo was amazing! I loved how open and spacious everything was. The animals truly had room to move and live. Yes some of them were hard to see, but animal welfare comes first here, and I appreciate that. We went on a Saturday and even though it was full when we came in, the crowd was never a problem. I would highly recommend the full experience. Jungle World and the Congo experiences were amazing! And you get souvenir cups which were free to refill on the day we were there. I would highly recommend this Zoo and I would say that you need to carve out a significant amount of time to explore. We will definitely be back when our son can walk a little better so he can experience it too.

Great escape from city environment. Spacious, beautiful landscapes, interactive as well. Cafe at Asian cafe has limited seating, limited food options and bathrooms could use bit more upgrade with changing stations. But monorails are always fun, can see the animals up close. This place is always our go to during summer. You might not be able to cover entire zoo in one day if kids involved. Check the shuttle schedules and stops and plan accordingly. Shuttles are the best way to access all sections. And have a map handy, even if it's a soft copy.

Alejandro Velez

It rarely gets any better than this. Carve out an entire day and take your time. If you don't see the animals on the first run, return later in the day and you'll probably spot them. Great number of diverse animals with lots to do and see. A must if you are in NYC.

Lori Wood

Went with my family and friends this past weekend and had a great time ! So glad we have such an awesome place to being our children to to learn about animals and nature . There are so many fun things to do from zip lining to an animated dinosaur safari. Can't wait to go back during the holidays and see the zoo all decked out !

valerie cosme

I went with my 2 small children for a work event for the entire day. We did everything and they didn't tired till we got into the car at closing. One thing you can avoid if limited with time is the Dinosaur Exhibit. Although the exhibit itself is great with the reincarnation of what the dinosaur could have looked and done and the commentary from Ginger (his name for himself, the young man is hilarious with describing the different events), it goes by quickly for a long wait time. You are better off checking it out early with little to no wait or skipping it and enjoying the rest of the zoo with actual live animals.

Michael Booth

The Botanic Gardens were closed today so we ended up here. We’re so glad we did. It’s an excellent zoo which pushes its conservation efforts. We particularly enjoyed the bird enclosures and the Gorillas. Worth buying the slightly more expensive Total Experience ticket to gain free entry to the butterfly exhibit, the mono rail, and the Gorilla park to name just a few.

Rachel Bales

What an awesome place! Oddly enough, I've been to a lot of different zoos, and even a couple abroad. This is definitely one of the top 3 in my opinion. It's beautifully maintained, and HUGE! Way bigger than I would have thought. We went during Boo at the Zoo so lots of visitors and staff were dressed up. They were awesome with all the kids. All around, a great experience. We spent about 5 hours there and were exhausted! My only 'complaint' is that it is really expensive. Like easily up to $150 for admission for a family of 4, parking, and if you want any snacks and/or gifts at the end. We were fortunate to be a guest of members so we didn't have to worry about admission, but I wonder how everyday families afford it. If you can, and anticipate visiting more than once in a year, I'd def recommend getting a family membership since it's pretty much paid for itself after two visits.

Jose Herrera

I've enjoyed coming here since moving to the Bronx. Parking is available in the zoo but you can find some street parking. My daughter loves the Children's Zoo and I'm looking forward to seeing the Dinosaur Safari later today. The membership seems more like a possibility now as my daughter gets older and it's pretty reasonable for the experience and all that she can see.

Krissy Pare

Haven't been to the zoo for about 14 years. Went with my boyfriend for my birthday and it was better than I remembered. I love zoos and I found that this one was very educational with issues that cause animal endangerment which I found very interesting for all ages. Animals all look happy and were healthy. New attractions were in the works. Cant wait to go back

Alisa Jeffries

Even a whole day wasn’t enough to see everything. We had so much fun. I highly recommend coming in October. Some of the animals were sleeping or hiding, but that’s the way of all zoo animals. The children’s zoo is the best I’ve ever seen. My nephew had a blast.

Bethany Leddy

The zoo is such and amazing place for learning and adventures. It is a very large zoo so only plan to do part so you can enjoy your time. I highly recommend membership for those who live close by.

Satu Tukia

Well maintained and clean zoo with plenty to see and do for the whole family. The gorillas were cute, the bears were lovely, the sea lions got a smile on their lips. The day at the zoo was a fun and good day.

Ibian Maquez

Love taking my grandson there!. Have been going to this zoo since I was a little girl and took my children there when they were young as well. Lots to see and do! But wear comfy shoes there's alot of walking!

Denil Patel

A great place to spend the weekend with family and friends. You would need a full day to view all the exhibits. Some of the exhibits have additional cost but with the total experience package you could enjoy everything. The atmosphere is like a rain forest. Animals have ample space to move and conditions are good for them.

ritesh kumar

This is one of the best zoo i have ever visited. I am not sure if all the animals are happy or sad there, but i am sure that very special care is given to each and everyone. Its quite big and if you want to cover each and every point then make sure to be there at 10 am sharp that is the opening time. More you will be late, less will be the points you could cover. There are two category of tickets that they provide. Total experience and general, the former have included few special section at zoo like butterfly garden, congo gorilla forest, mono rail, nature trek etc and few additional facilities like unlimited shuttle ride. Most of the section here is wheelchair accessible. The place is definitely kids friendly. Have fun.

Jherlyn Lopez

This is a must see place if you are in NY. Great place to come and enjoy with family. All types of family friendly activities. Not only a great experience, but a way to support a cause for animals and nature. COME ON WEDNESDAY, ITS FREE! If you are a visitor. My wife and I have been members of the zoo for 4 years now, and love coming here 4 to 5 times per summer. This place Never gets old. We love everything this place stands for.

Michele Kane

The Bronx Zoo is one of the best zoos that I have ever been to in my life. This zoo is one of the biggest zoos in the United States and is truly amazing. I suggest that if going you steer clear of Wednesdays because admission is based on donation only so it tends to get a little crowded. If you visit this zoo I would recommend visiting the gorilla exhibit. I found myself spending more time than usual there because I got lucky enough to witness a feeding.

Eli Fishman

An all day experience for any animal or nature lover. From graceful giraffes to thoughtful apes. And everything in between. Best times to go are spring and early fall when the weather is nice but the crowds are less.

Jonathan Armijos

Free on Wednesdays! But it only gets you access to the basic attractions. If you want to experience the main attractions like the dinozaur park and the monorail tour, you may pay $15! Regular day $40(if I recall). Recommended.

Donna Lang

Great place to go. Its does take all day then some.to see everything. We stay 5 hours didn't see everything but its was great what's we did see their. Workers very nice

Sherin Jacob

Good place to spend a whole day.. little expensive.. Especially the food.. but it's for the animals so.. if you plan to go more than one then taking a membership makes sense

Shaun Barker

The family and I went to the zoo for a couple of hours. The staff were friendly and helpful. The zoo is super large and that is why we are members as you can't see everything in one trip. I recommend seeing the Dinosaur Safari as it's short but still good to see the life-size dinosaurs.

Erika Kao

This is one of the best places around for families. I mean, you can't go wrong, especially if you buy the membership, which you should, because if you go twice, it pays for itself. The membership offers you parking, which is so convenient. My family loves going here.

Daniel Eiras

A great activity for the whole family -- lots of animal habitats and interesting attractions. Only thing is, it is not at all cheap -- you can expect to spend upwards of $200 for a family of 4 if you want to visit all the exhibits with the "Total Experience" package. Plus parking is $17!

Jennifer G

Really enjoyed it. It's pretty big so nearly impossible to see everything in one visit. We were there Sat. 9/14 and it was overcast and low 70s (perfect weather!) so it wasn't very crowded. We moved through pretty quicky and we saw probably got to see 80-90%. Will go again sometime.

R Koch

Very nice zoo. Small enough that you can easily cover everything in 4-6 hours. 11am on a Tuesday and it's wall to wall screaming kids...but it thankfully died down after 1pm. Giraffes are indoors so you get pretty close while the Madagascar rainforest is a sight to behold. Gorgeous!

Pam Beckham

I watch the Bronx Zoo on TV so I wanted to visit the zoo in person while in town. It was wonderful! We took the subway train and it was so easy and everyone is so helpful at the station and on the street. I would come back again now we know how easy it is to get around.

Tashena Heath

Making Boo in the Zoo a family tradition. Staff is friendly, helpful, kid friendly. Buy the total experience, it's worth it. Stayed the whole day and still didn't see half of the zoo.

NATALIE JOHNIE

We recently visited here with a group of friends and our little ones. I always forget how massive this place is. It was a very hot day, but there was no shortage of fun. It was fun seeing the kids reactions to all of the animals (elephants, bears, tigers, monkeys, gorillas...) The funniest part was watching the bears fight over the little pond they shared. The best part was seeing how well cared for all the animals seem to be. It was a wonderful experience and I can't wait to visit again!

Paul Klam

Went on Friday July 12, 2019. The staff were friendly. It wasn't crowded at all. Got onto the monorail without having to wait on line. Did Nature Trek twice and went on the Dinosaur Safari with no waiting around. It was much better than Wednesdays.

Jennifer Zivkovich

Ive been around the zoo block but this zoo is definitely something special. Its huge so go with time and good shoes.

paul clayton

Just wonderful. It is pricey but some of these animals eat 200 pounds a day. Then, remember, Wednesday's are free, so that you don't have to be wealthy to experience it. But oh my, the depth of this place is beyond explanation. We spent 6 hours here and felt we could spend 6 days. If you have a passing interest in reptiles for example then the reptile house is phenomenal. If you've always wanted to see a rain forest, then you will. The tigers and the snow leopards were just great. And I am only scratching the surface in my description. Nice and clean. Cafe food better than expected. Loved it! What an experience.

A Lock

Having been a regular visitor to Sydney's fabulous Taronga Zoo, and the Sunshine Coast's Australia Zoo, I was a little underwhelmed visiting here. Its almost 3 times larger than Taronga so you need to walk quite a while to see each species, as they are so far apart from each other...so perhaps 2 visits would work better.

Trev Carter

Great zoo, bigger than most. You most likely won't be able to see everything in one day but the visit is well worth it. I spent about 5 hours and felt like I got my money's worth; take the monorail ride if possible. Really neat feature that is included in the full price of admission along with other perks. Oldest zoo in the United States and it's one of the greatest. Family friendly and wheelchair accessible.

Anne Fernandena

I usually hate going to the zoo on Wednesdays because there's huge crowds and summer camps and what not but today was not the case! Considering my membership expired and I wanted to do something fun with my son right before school started , we decide to go to the zoo! They have a brand new Dinosaur Safari experience and it was awesome! $8 per person was definitely worth it.. especially if the admission to the zoo was free anyway! Richard a.k.a. Ricky made the experience so much better, down to his corny jokes and his funny voices. Its crazy when you can tell when an employee is passionate about their job, I'm telling you he made the experience! .. well besides the cool dinosaurs, duh! Everything about the zoo was typical just like any other day at the zoo. we go ALOT, but I would definitely recommend the Dinosaur Safari Experience.

kelso seyless

they need more employees in the exhibits. the only employee in site in any exhibit was the butterfly garden. visitors were shining flashlights in rodents eyes and screaming at sleeping animals. it’s the zoos responsibility to make sure animals are taken care of and not abused. especially considering most bird exhibits have no glass or any protection between the people and the animals.

Olivier Nimeskern

The Bronx Zoo is a beautiful and large zoo in New York City and I had a great time when I visited it a while back. Sometimes it makes me feel sad to see the animals contained like that, but at least they are well nourrished compared to their natural habitat that is going away. The gorillas were amazing as you can see them quite closely through large windows. And the lemurs are so amazing too. Plus of course so many other species. It is a large place, you can spend hours in it. Kids will love it.

Sheree Adelson

The animals were beautiful and we were luck to see so many. The monorail enabled us to see every animal in that area. The best part of the day was the Wild Animal Encounter with a cheetah. To be able to hear him purring and look into his eyes was amazing.

Jennifer McDonnell

Urban oasis. So much to see and do. Dont miss the special events. Bring snacks and take public transport, plenty of options to get there without driving! A non-profit doing great work to boot.

Robert Wolf

It's a big zoo with a lot to see. Getting there sucked and there was only one food joint open. While eating you have to compete with about a billion bees. Overall a great place to visit.

Alexey Berbenitskiy

Didn't expect that it is so huge. Really enjoyed it. All animals have a lot of space for living. It is better to reserve whole day for visiting it. Good souvenir shop is available on site

Christina Morales

Even with an all inclusive ticket, there is way too much stuff to be done in one day! Amazing zoo! I highly recommend the all inclusive tickets. You'll save money

N Bozell

It's not always easy going to a zoo where you are seeing animals outside of their natural habitat, however you can definitely tell that the Bronx Zoo cares about its animals. We had a great first visit and will definitely be back. There is so much to see so come with a plan and get there early if trying to do it all in on new day.

Joe Ditmanson

Iconic. Inspiring. Single best thing to do in NYC. The only thing I will say is buy your ticket online in advance. Crown and pedestal tickets sell out many months in advance. We just got the regular ticket for $18. Left from Battery Park. Get there early to beat the crowd. Takes a while to get through security (think TSA). Ferry ride is about 20 minutes.

Arina Mueller

One of the best zoos int the world! All animals look like they are well taken care of and enjoying their lives. You can easily spend the entire day there, walking around and enjoying the nature.

Angeline Tong

Sooo much bigger than i expected and the total experience ticket is worth it! Go to the monorail and the butterfly garden! Loved how everything was focused on wildlife preservation and protecting endangered species too

Ronnie Esquivel

It's a great zoo to be in the city. It's a good value. Highly recommended total experience tickets. They're totally worth it. come early if you want to see everything. It's not a very big zoo but still takes all day to see everything. FYI some of the larger animals have an indoor pen and an outdoor area. So if you don't see just move around.

K. Del-Mooro

We have a membership for 3 or 4 years straight. It is an investment. Our family enjoys the Bronx Zoo several times a year. They are always mixing up events and themes. We look forward to holidays at the Zoo, especially Boo At The Zoo. This year's Dinosaur attraction was pretty decent and the kids enjoyed themselves. BEST zoo in the United States.

Wow what a wonderful day. Great company, great weather, what a great zoo.... I haven't been to the Bronx Zoo in a least 40 years. I've missed to much.... I went today to support my mother and 25 yr old son for the psoriasis walk at the Bronx Zoo. I got so much more than walking for a great cause I got to see Lions, tigers, bears, etc etc.. 5 star Day all around...

Simply amazing. A great place to go on Wednesday (Free) from May - September. (All attractions are open during that time) Make sure to be there as soon as they open so you can enjoy the whole park!

Great Time on a Conestoga Bus Trip. Grand Daughter especially enjoyed the Children Zoo and Nature Trex area. Most on our bus had a good time and enjoyed the variety of animals. Two suggestions: The maps are hard to follow. Better signage or color code areas. No signs for areas that were filmed from Secrets of the Zoo. My wife and I recognized TV show spots. Think highlighting those area would be positive.

Nice Zoo, but Not Enough Outdoor Space for these animals living in exile! Rhino den is approximately 50 feet long and 30 feet deep for 2 rhinos .... these animals need the open plains to run! It's a very clean zoo, but bathrooms need to be kept up with supplies! The food is very good, but the prices will set you back a bit $11.99 for a double hamburger & order of French fries! $4.25 for a small scoop of ice cream on a cone. Pricing, It's all good to pay for Animal Upkeep and Staff Salaries!

Great place for a stroll and quick shopping center. Can be used for all kinds of food. Not sure just how much you are willing to spend but prices are ok. If you need need anything all you have to do is ask and the staff is willing to help you out. Help is just a few steps away from you.

There is something so exciting about going to the Zoo. But going in NY in the middle of the Bronx is SO awesome. I've been to many zoos all over the world and this zoo emphasizes the emotional connection and love they have for their animals. Let's start with parking. Leave early if you are trying to walk in the gate at 10 when it opens. They have decent parking, but the surrounding traffic and people trying to get in slows your animal seeing experience down a little. Every staff member I encountered had a smile on their face and was happy to help. WINNING BRONX ZOO! We did the animal encounters and were worth every penny. You get to talk one on one with zoo keepers that train, feed, love and take care of them. All the animals are situated in thought out ,well designed enclosures. And they all look like they are living their best lives. If you haven't been watching The Zoo on animal planet, get it together people because it's a life changer and hits you in the heart strings! Enjoy!

My family and I have been going here since we were kids. The zoo has a ton of animals and loads of activities and awesome gift shops! However the staff at the food stations need to be more professional.

So much to do, so much to see, but not enough time to do & see everything in one day. We'll definitely go back again to see what we missed and revisit places we LOVED! We watched the baby gorillas playing tag and it was PRECIOUS!!

Love this zoo. Amazing times and free admission on Wednesdays. Can’t beat that! A must visit. Love the BX

Why do they charge almost $5.00 for ice. Plus to top it off there was a heat advisory! I did love that they have a nursing pod for breastfeeding or pumping but it was so hot in there I could have passed out.

Awsome place to take the family right in the boogie down Bronx! I always love to visit, except on Wednesdays. Wednesday is free, and a great way to go for first timers, but it gets super crowded, so if you like going regularly you should get the season pass. It is also great way to contribute to the Wildlife Conservation Society. They now have zip lines as well, so you you can satisfy any urge for an adrenaline rush.

Really cool place to visit. Plan on spending your whole day here. It's a really huge zoo. Food is pretty good but can get really expensive. I suggest bringing sandwiches.

Gladis Nieves

I love the zoo and so does my grand child. We had fun.

Very large zoo, the place is pretty well maintained and clean, the animals look great. My son and I really liked it. I think we will come here many more times.

Well worth the trip! The zoo is HUGE and beautifully maintained. All the walking paths, animal areas, carts and gardens look great! They have so many animals and the atmosphere is great. Expect to send at least 2 hours here at the minimum ! The gorrilla exibit and mono-rail cost a few bucks extra on top of the standard ticket price , but they are also well worth it! The staff is extremely helpful and informative and all the animals they have are just wonderful! Also Parking is about $17 to stay for the day .
