REVIEWS OF Denver Zoo IN Colorado

Phil Levine

One of the best zoo's I have seen. It's small but so well done. This sets the standard of what a zoo should be! Food could be better

James Schell

Amazing place to spend a day. Low cost of admission with so much to see and do. The Zoo is well maintained, clean and has very friendly staff.

Nick Klinstiver

Smartly-designed zoo with staff available to answer questions. We spent about 3 hours here and got to see a lot of animal activity.

Andrea Castillo

This a nice zoo. However, there were some things I didn’t like the bird cages, it’s really heart breaking to see big birds like the Condor and the eagle in such small cages. Also the hippopotamus swimming water was really really dirty. Other than that a nice zoo.

Linda Kelazil

I love going to this zoo. It's a bit smaller than the one I grew up with, but that makes it a great day trip for the family! The layout is great to spend a whole day seeing all the animals. There is a good variety, and a number of exhibits have been updated to be 1) more animal friendly but also 2) better viewing. The shows have been entertaining but also very educational. I just keep coming back again and again.

Donald Tucker

Excellent staff! A great variety of animals! Had a great time here with my family!

Brian Holsinger

Great as always! We haven't been in a while but its still a good time. The trees have grown a lot making great shade when walking in the sun. It was 97° when we got here but it didn't seem that hot because of the shaded parts.

Tyler Kern

I am a big fan of visting zoos and seeing things you may not otherwise have the ability to see. The Denver Zoo is without a doubt one of the best zoo experiences I have had. It is really easy to navigate around and the animal enclosures are really easy to see into allowing you a better chance of seeing what you came for. I highly recommend paying a little extra for the 4D Theatre, it was a fun experience.

Susan Knight

There's never enough time to spend at the Zoo. I enjoyed this one immensely. Birds were on my list here in addition to many other sights and sounds. Interactions with staff were informative. Only in the area for a visit, I learned about recent babies and the care being done to slowly introduce them to the public. Walkways were well marked. I would enjoy a return visit, or two or three.

Stefan Hatfield

Came here on a class field trip. Despite the cold, snow, and construction we still saw some neat animals. The staff was very helpful in directing us to exhibits that were open.

Swann M.

The zoo is always a family favorite. The weather was great and we were able to enjoy the long trails even though there was a lot of people. What I found very enjoyable and different about this zoo was the volunteers that were at different animal enclosures. They were very knowledgeable and patient with the kids. They had games and trivia for the kids to enjoy, something I have not seen at any other zoo. I did purchase a ticket for the carousel but it was broken that day. I did opt out of the railroad since it only takes you around a small portion of the zoo but for $3.00 it does not sound bad. Overall great experience.

Joanna O

A very nice zoo. There's a good amount of animals here and the layout is pretty easy to figure out. The displays are educational, so people of all ages can get something out of it. The animal encounters and behind the scenes options are pretty neat. The food selections are fine though nothing too glamorous. The train and carousel are neat.

Troy Becker

Great zoo. Always working to betterment, and promoting environmental and conservation-minded awareness.

Elisabeth Lauren

The zoo is the best, its great how they are expanding so much over the years. Definitely very busy during the weekends!! Week days are way better!!

Amanda Holsonback

One of the best zoos I've ever been to. Initially I was bummed I didn't see certain animals but it was because animals aren't forced to be an attraction. I can respect that. It was super clean, staff was friendly, lots of exhibits. The Discovery house was amazing. We were very impressed.

Paranormal Society

We spent most of the time in Denver in the mountains but it was nice to stop by here and enjoy the zoo. It is a tradition for my family, when visiting new towns to see the zoo and what it compares to the local free zoo at home. This was an excellent place to visit and spend some time. It is very well maintained and the staff was super friendly. The kids enjoyed it here and we even enjoyed the side shows they offered. It does cost in here but it is worth every dime and one of the nicest zoos in the country.

Amanda Eastman

A beautiful place with world class animal Care. One of my favorite places on Earth. There's always something new and exciting happening (babies!!!) And the mission of the zoo couldn't be better.

Nick Stachura

Such an amazing zoo! So many unique animals to see with very naturalistic exhibits. The elephant talk was very educational and fun to see! A lot of the animals were very active and moving, even though it was a hot day. The zoo staff was very professional, knowledgeable, and provided lots of educational facts. This is a must see if your in the area.

Charlene Couser

For over 25 years, the Denver Zoo has been one of my favorite places in town to visit! ❤ It only gets better year after year!

Dale Etchells

Love the Tropical Discovery exhibit and the staff was awesome. The young lady there took the time in explaining the various reptiles and how they were fed and taken care of. Great zoo, a great way to spend your day.

Evan Mecham

Excellent zoo. Lots of great animals, most of which are easily viewed. Very family friendly. ADA accomodations. Family bathrooms, and baby centers Reasonable food prices. Highly recommend.

Mindy Busch

The zoo is a great place to take the kidos. Very few hills so it's easy for little ones to walk. The new primate area is really amazing. And the new elephant area is so huge.

Zach Spencer

This Zoo was great. So fun and lots to do. Parking was a little rough. So you might want to show up early. But other than that. It was great

Samantha Koch

Love this zoo! Has something for everyone. They are very knowledgeable about their animals and are always educating the public. Great events and even beer for the adults

Kristen Kramer

This zoo was amazing! Traveling through Denver and stopped at this gem. Their elephant exhibit was incredible. I love how knowledge all of the zoo keepers and staff are. The animals had amazing enclosures and excellent care plans that the keepers would explain at request. See the elephants!!

This is a really nice and compact zoo with decent food and drink options, and a great diversity of animals. I bought an annual zoo membership for my daughter and me, and we've visited 6x so far and plan to go at least another 10x before our membership needs renewal. I grew up in St. Louis though, which has a better, bigger, and free zoo, so it's hard to compare. I'd also recommend grabbing a map or taking a picture of the map when you first enter, since it's compact by using lots of little maze-like turns and sections

krisnuda z

This zoo is amazing! It took me around 2 hours to walk around and take a look to all of the animals they have. They are still working in more exhibitions,

Scott Johnson

Great place to take the family. There are a ton of animals and exhibits to see but our favorites were the sea lions. They put on quite a show and were worth the wait. Overall 10/10 experience and wouldn't hesitate to go again.

Andy O'Leary

I go here about every other Friday with my daughter and it is great! With so many animals it surprises me how clean everything is. The people who work here are very friendly and the exhibits are beautiful. This place is wonderful and if you have not been yet i would highly recommending giving it a shot.

The best Zoo I've been to! It was just amazing. You could feel there was something different about it. The vibes were good. For the best time here, go here during the weekend.

Jacie Jones

Always a fun experience always learning new information about the animals. Love that everyone working there is so knowledgeable.

Tracy Cooley

If there wasn’t a carousel or train for my kids to have fun with, it’s a nice contained place to take a walk. Animals are often not out or visible, many exhibits closed (the indoor cats exhibit has been closed for a few years, since we’ve been members). And I’ve seen depressed pacing in many habitats, or animals staring at a door for extended periods of time.

Lisa Mandel

Great place for the family- so much to see! Get here early as the parking lots fill fast. Word of caution; don’t even think about coming here on the weekends!!

Dane Hall

Hot, lots of animals hanging out out of sight. Got in free because I was at an event hosted inside, which was pricey to rent but very nice. Lots of children, DO NOT COME if you do not like children because let me tell you, kids for miles. For days. So thick you had to wade through swathes of sticky reaching hands, tread through depths of tiny screaming bodies.

Steev Merrbach

Excellent zoo. Good variety of animals. Great to see they are expanding to have an on site animal hospital. Some exhibits a bit crowded, but overall well worth the visit

Stephen Strampe

Great place to take the family. Great for out of state visitors and a awesome Zoo Membership that work for many different levels. The food has improved in the last 4 yrs. Many different places to eat along the way while enjoying the Zoo. I do recommend getting there early to fight the crowds in the summer. Great bonus for adults who like to drink a beer while walking the Zoo, they have a few beer stations along the way. One of the greenest Zoos in the world with there recycling. Yeah, go green. Another plus is their animal encounters. Worth every penny.

Rhonda Lane

Always fun to go here! I wish it were a bit less expensive on food items however...families are your customers and probably most of us can't afford the extras once we pay for entry....and it's so disappointing for our children when we have to say no to popcorn and ice cream, let alone trying to pay for lunch. I get that it will cost more than McDonald's, but I think it could be more reasonable than it is! That being said, the food is good and very tasty when we have been able to try some of it!

Troy Osman

One of the best shows I've been to. Arrive early if you want decent parking.

Sarah Neuman

Such a wonderful zoo! We loved doing the close encounter with the giraffes. What an amazing experience! I feel like we really got to know the giraffes. The zoo really seems to care about the quality of the lives of the animals in their care.

Jacquelyn Babcock

Kid friendly, great zoo to visit. This zoo does a very good job of rotating exhibits and has plenty of knowledgeable staff throughout the zoo. I have visited on multiple occasions and every time I have been pleasantly pleased. I would highly recommend buying your ticket from mine as even when the zoo opens the line to purchase and mission is very long.

CaptainMcSwank

It's a real fun family experience, we've gone twice in the past year, doesn't cost an arm and a leg to go like other attractions in Denver. Would give five stars but they have a lot of construction right now which wasn't terrible but it will be better when it's done. Overall good time!

Quinton C

Was a fun zoo. Had no clue it was as old as it is (I think sometime in the late 1890's was when it started?). Lot's of different animals. Food options weren't terrible, and they were as expensive as you'd imagine. All the animals looked relatively happy

Cathy Nguyen

Really great place for dates, family outings or even going by yourself. It takes 3 to 4 hours to see everything in one go. There's plenty of sitting areas with shade and restrooms, along with grass areas to have a picnic. The tickets are reasonably priced at 20 bucks per person. And if ur a photographer, u can definitely take amazing shots and footage of not only the animals but also the flowers and foliage

Teener Marie

Very fun for kids. Enough things to do and see and the zoo itself is set up very conveniently. Very clean and you are able to get so close to almost all of the animals especially the giraffes and elephants! We just moved here and we will definitely be back!

Jared Letterly

Nice place to take kids and family to. Lots of different kinds of animals for kids to see and then want to learn more about. Some of it is older, and some of it is a lot newer, but both are fun to see the animals that are there.

Dana Hobika

Good staff. Great educational lectures. Animals all look healthy. Just wish they had more room to move. And some herd animals were housed alone.

Jennifer Terry

My family and I had the best day at the Denver Zoo! They have really great exhibits, especially the elephant exhibit. When we went we were able to watch two of the elephants play and get a little rowdy with one another for quite awhile.

Mama Knows

The Denver Zoo is one of the best zoo's I have ever been too. Our kids had a blast ,from the shows to the 4d movie theater as well as terrific food all over the park. We especially loved seeing the new baby lion

Rei Rei

The zookeepers are pretty informational. They have all the big animals you want to see, and even the ones you didn't know existed. The new baby lion is super cute. The elephant show is cool, and the indoor tropical exhibit is my favorite. I still have yet to see all the exhibits here, and I have been here so many times.

C Drummond

Great staff there help to continual elevate the experience as visitors there. There seems to be a lot of shifting around and quite a bit less animals than in the past. It would be nice and helpful to have some idea about why that is and what the zoo's plans are. A little more transparency would make this 5/5 for me.

Amy Smith

We never have a bad time here. Today I volunteered with my daughter's school. The WHOLE school went! There was also 4 other school districts! Amazingly, after we entered, there was still a lot of room for everyone. They are building on an addition to the zoo so I'm excited to see what that is. Was really excited to try the new giraffe feeding exhibit but it was closed today. Giraffe keepers were really nice though. We'll definitely be back, as always.

Adam Pryce

If you live in the Denver metro and have kids, then I recommend a zoo pass and frequent visits! It's a great place for kids to use up energy, learn, and be inspired. It is a wonderful stroll for adults as well. It has wonderful new updates.

Allison Reed

Love the Zoo! More shaded areas would be nice though. Would be lovely if they had stand alone ice dispensers. Both adults and kids get overheated. It would also be nice if indoor facilites were a cooler temperature.

Gina Kopp

This zoo is amazing. It has some of the best exhibits and natural looking habitat's. There's animals, birds and critters I didn't even know existed. totally amazing zoo

Jonathan Stapleton

Wonderful as always. Amazing seeing how the zoo has evolved from when I was a child to now bringing my child here. Especially love Harmony Hill, the new bear habitat.

derrick worden

Kids love going to the zoo. For the most part, the Denver Zoo is a nice place to visit. Clean and we'll kept. I worried about certain exhibits being to small or not designed right, but they are doing upgrades and renovations to address those areas. Bonus value for being able to bring your own cooler, wagon, etc. They don't nickle and dime you there.

Jeremy Miller

It's a great big zoo with new improvements every year. My kids love the Denver Zoo

John Derr

Full disclosure, I am a zoo member. However in the last few years this is zoo is continually shrunk large animals are leaving, exhibits are closing and I understand did the animals welfare and well-being is Paramount. Denver Zoo to be perfectly honest as serious constraints on it as far as space and I really feel that this is now more or less a minor league Zoo as far as he was go. I would not be surprised in the future to see the association of zoos and aquariums remove them from the roster. All that being said I will still be a member of the zoo, but do not expect the Columbus Zoo, the Bronx Zoo, the San Diego Zoo, or even the Albuquerque Zoo.

Liana Blackmore

Good to see updates and the animals being put into suitable habitats. While there is something sad about older exhibits closing, It's understandable, as some don't understand staying on path ways. The gift shop was nice and neat, but we ate before going in. One thing I noticed that I would say needs changed is that there's only one Capybara. Last I knew, they're herd animals. But, It was nice to see one.

Jessica Laman

So much fun! Line was so long to get in but so happy you had signs to buy online. I did and it saved us so much time with 3 wild little boys. Thank you!

Jeffrey Gross

If you are looking where to go on the weekend, you should definitely visit this place. Located in Downtown Denver, this unique zoo. The areas for animals are well-maintained with plenty of space and entertainment for the animals. We spent here 4 exciting hours and will be back soon.

Walker Braddock

I've been to several zoos around the country. Parking at the Denver Zoo is tough, but I really enjoy it once I get inside. The giraffe exhibit is very nice. You can see them at ground level to appreciate their height and grace, and for a bit more you can get closer, feed them, and have a nice interaction. The extensive elephant habitat is impressive. I like the fact that the lions, hyenas, and African wild dogs share the same enclosure. You won't get to see all 3 at once, but rotating the animals on exhibit is better for the animals. This is a very different kind of enrichment program, and I appreciate it.

Mike Slotemaker

We have been to zoos all over the United States and even a few overseas. This is the best one we've ever visited. Not one of the animals or their conditions made us feel sad about them being in captivity. Lots of room for the critters, great flow to distribute the crowds, and a wonderful experience. Thank you, Denver Zoo!!!

Susan Fritzinger

A day full of fun for everyone! The animals all seem very well cared for and the volunteers and zoo keepers are always happy to answer questions.

Willa Shelton

There is always something going on some type of activity or shows we were there for the mutual of Omaha senior day at the zoo there are many places for great food and drinks make sure you come for the zoo lights it's fantastic.

John Worgan

Great Zoo! Always something new to discover whenever I go. Always amazed. Great place for a date or to take the family.

Mike Larsen

Always a fun outing with the family and/or friends!! New exhibits are awesome, even have lion cubs this year! Great place for events, kids, dates, friends, & all others to have fun! My favorite its always the monkey island and predators...but it's a hard pick between all the great see ups this zoo offers. If you get a membership the price is very reasonable even for this parks food which is unusual (usually it's super expensive). Full day to get through our great to spit puck for a half day as well.

Dawnielle Carter

The zoo is great, but a lot of construction going on. Warm day so the animals aren't as active, but you couldn't see a lot of them. Main animals weren't visible at all... bears, tigers, lions.

Carisa Olson

Always a fun day at the Denver Zoo! The animal enclosures are nice, they give you a good opportunity to see the animals. If you go in the morning, you will probably see more animals than if you go later in the day. Concession prices are a little steep, but you can bring your own food/drinks in. The docents are knowledgeable and engage with visitors. Plenty of shaded areas and places to sit. Parking can be a hassle, but if you get there early it's not a problem.

HashBrown 2legit

Awesome!!! Always a great time. This really is a quality zoo, fun for the whole family. Would highly recommend bringing your own lunch, but if you don't the food options are good, just pricey. Very kid friendly

Hailey Bradley

To be honest, I was not very impressed with this zoo. The animals did not seem very content and the zoo appeared to be very run down. I hope that my visit was just during a period of renovation or that it is not the true character of the zoo. However, if you want to go to a zoo while in Colorado, I personally liked the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo a whole lot better.

Omeed Moghadam

We randomly decided to go to Denver Zoo to check out some animals, and I'm so glad we did! I've been to a few zoos, but this was on a differently level. The animals all seemed active and healthy, the staff was young but friendly, and the food selection was pretty good for a Monday! The zoo overall was very clean and well decorated with florals that made you feel like you were in a natural habitat. Definitely worth checking out!

Ryan Larson

Stopped in at 9 am on a Sunday and it was already pretty busy. Decently priced at $20 per adult. Zoo is laid out weird. It has a circular path but there are a lot of meandering mini paths and dead ends. Something that really bothered me was how many empty exhibits they had. Seriously at least 10 to 12 empty exhibits. Not complaining about animals being shy either, I mean nothing there. Staff was uninvolved. Most stalls for food and drink and items didnt open until 10 or 11am either. Elephant enclosure was awesome and worth every penny.

Chris Yenter

Great zoo with many options for young and old. We had friends in town Fri Dallas and they commented on how great the zoo was compared to theirs. Love having a membership so we can go for a couple hours and not worry about seeing everything in one trip. Don't miss the baby gorilla!

Georgia Viado

The Denver Zoo is wonderful! You can spend an entire day there or just an hour. They have wonderful special events for holidays. A particular favorite of ours is Zoo lights in November and December. It is magical. They have programs going on all day throughout the zoo. They are constantly improving. We are sad they closed Bird World, but I know they will replace it with something extraordinary. My 3 year old loves the carousel and the train, of course. My 6 year old is obsessed with the snakes and spiders in Tropical Discovery. I'm partial the the elephant show. There are small play areas strewn about, like sandboxes, fake tree stumps, and statues intended to climb on and in. There are concessions everywhere. We never leave without Dip'n Dots or popcorn. And the gift shop is great!

Marti Wolf

Always a wonderful experience. The new elephant exhibit is wonderful and you can tell the elephants love it. They play for hours together.

Matt Madden

Lovely Sunday morning. Kid enjoyed the animals and freedom to run around at the zoo. The Coca cola was horribly over priced but the proceeds go to a good cause. $5 for 16oz coke.

Rei Rei

Cheryl Lee

We’ve had an amazing day at the zoo! Both the kids and the adults loved the 4D movie and the beautiful animals. So educational for the kids to see these animals from the young age. The food was good as well. We all enjoyed it and will be back real soon!

Dawn Beatty

Because it's a zoo. No really great staff, great keepers. Everyone is so friendly to assist. Always making improvements but not in the way. They serve beer. Animal enclosure are beautiful!

Blake Burnita Walters

Wanted to give a shout out to the employee (likely the manager) who went over to the other side of the zoo on Monday to fetch me a hat I saw (but didn't buy thinking it would also be at the store near the exit). Super friendly person - went way above and beyond on a very hot day. Thank you so much!

Shannon Thurston

Lovely lights, warm night. Plenty of animals to see this trip. I love the zoo at nighttime

Tiffany Dunn

It's always a fun time with the family. We enjoy watching new exhibits come in.

Michael Whelan

Denver Zoo gets 5 stars because it is one of the biggest and best zoos we have ever visited. Signage is clear and visible from the roadway. Restrooms are clean, well stocked and open for everyone. The animals are taken care of quite well. Clean cages, fresh water and shade from the hot sun. We personally have gone to the Denver Zoo twice and have enjoyed ourselves both times. Plan on spending the entire day this way you will have enough time to see everything.

Rosemarie Quebral Harris

A great zoo. Nothing humongous or overwhelming. The park and the animals are well cared for, and it's obvious. The memberships are worth it if you have a family and plan on going together at least 3 or 4 times a year. Great thing about Colorado. You can manage to be outdoors year round easy. Funny too... I used to hate zoos.

Geoff Janes

A really great zoo. A wide variety of animals, many that are rarely seen at other zoos. The elephant exhibit is very impressive, and other exhibits include both indoor and outdoor viewing and rotating habitats to meet animals' needs. This zoo also had several very knowledgeable volunteers who made the experience more interesting with stories about the animals. A highlight for our family was a keeper who spent more than 20 minutes visiting with our children. We'll be back!

Krazie Jedi

Some construction going on but to make the Zoo more welcoming. Awesome trip though to take. Will be back

Mel Archer

Love the zoo! They have some great exhibits, and the lion cub is so cute. Always something new.

megan tjaden

Many shows and exhibits were closed, with no notifications made for the public till you were in the zoo waiting in line or at the door. Cheyenne Mountain zoo is so much more worth it!! We will never visit the Denver zoo again, as this is the 3rd time we have come and many things are closed and or shows not happening. The volunteers are absolutely amazing, telling the kiddos all the facts and funny stories about the animals!

Michael Brutting

Absolutely love this zoo! All of the animals have wonderful enclosures and Can be seen up close and personal. I could easily spend a whole day here and still want more. The only issue I encountered on my visit was a VERY long wait time at the ticket counter. I would recommend purchasing tickets online ahead of time.

Coco Huerta

Always love coming here. The animals seem so well attended only thing is there are some exhibits closed.... and I couldn't find the bears

Kevin Barr

My son said to be generous so were giving this zoo a 4 star. I thought about a three star mostly because nothing really made me go wow that's cool. Though I did enjoy the layout of many of their exibits. I've been to lesser zoo's and this one isn't bad by any stretch. A good time with the family and friends

Brittany Lynch

This zoo is big! Great exhibits. If you have young kids, I recommend renting a wagon or bringing the stroller so you can see all the sights.

Deven Dickerson

This place is great. An awesome experience for anyone who wants to go and see some animals!!

Adielle Megargee

The zoo has opened and is working on a lot of new exhibit areas for the animals. It's been about 6 months since I last visited and I couldn't believe how different everything looks. They're making great progress and you can tell they think about all of the needs of the animals. Plus there are a lot of babies right now, so this month is a good month to go!

Markthespark

The zoo is a lot of fun! For people with medicaid or foodstamps in the later part of the season, you can get in for 1$ if you show them your card :) you can get up to 10 people in that way for only a 1$ each so its very affordable that way. There are so many amazing animals to see and lots of fun for families.

Elyse Keller

Animals seemed rather happy. Plenty of places to eat. Rather large. There should be more workers to stop random parents trying to get their kids to pick up goslings and peafowl.

Marry Jane

Very similar too many other Zoos I've been before. The animals being looked after very well. Inn the Zoo we could see two little lion cubs. He was very cute. There are also a lot of elephants reservations. It's nice place to visit with all of your family.

Jessica Litton

It was semi-cold when we visited (50s-60s) many of the animals were not out or visible. Aside from that we got pretty good parking and the staff were really nice. The bees/wasps attacked us the whole time we were there. Not honey bees or even bumblebees but those jerks that seemingly have no purpose but to accost you. Food was good and the souvenirs were not too pricey.

nusparkey

Wide open spaces and the animals all looked happy. Food was good and fresh. Employees walking the exhibits were very willing to answer questions.

Sean Hastings

Our family really enjoyed our time here. It’s very clean and well maintained. Plenty of awesome animals to see. Admission was reasonable. Food and drink prices are a bit steep but they have to be able to afford to feed all of those animals somehow. We had a great time and I would highly recommend this zoo to anyone.

scott knox

I confess I'm spoiled living next to the free and amazing St Louis Zoo, so don't let my experience deter you from visiting this place. It really is an awesome zoo. I highly recommend you visit on a week day, as it gets extremely busy here. Many animals inhabit this park, and the displays are done very nicely. If you haven't visited some of the better zoos of our country, this place will really impress, I'm sure.

Joseph Rhees

One of the best experiences a toddler(and older) can have. The whole family enjoyed it.

Jillian Releford

Exhibits are clean and animals seems happy. Reasonably priced. But if we are comparing this to the Cheyenne mountain it's only 4 stars.

Jay Finesilver

Nice visit. I had not been there in many years. It has changed alot for the better. Lots of newly constructed exhibits and animal pens. There were some great animals to see today, two Male elephants playing for a long time in the water/pond; the hippo playing in his pool with a ball, the giraffes of course, the large Male tiger, and more. The volunteers live their jobs and gladly share their intimate knowledge of the animals. Not that big of a place. Fun to check out. Hint: go early to beat the crowds and to park easily.

Joshua Cordle

Really well done. Without kids, we saw everything in about 2-1/2 hours. Lots of fun. Animals have great enclosures and care. I especially liked the high rise "catwalk" for the tiger.

Kas miur

Always fun though disappointed that the baby changing tables are often in ackward places. While I understand the buildings were built decades ago, bolting a pull down table anywhere doesn't always make for a good experience. Example giraffe building the changing table is right in front of the urinal and due to tight space I'm blocking either both urinal and a stall or I'm bumping into the urinal.

Justin Thresher

My wife and I came here while visiting family. Had a blast! I even saw the new baby lion! Almost got to feed a giraffe and talked to a penguin like, I squaked it squawked back then I flapped my arms it flapped its "wings?" They should be called flippers. And ya tried riding a hippo then fell off... it's harder than it looks. I'll add a photo as proof.

Lee Florez

The place was great but very large. A lot of renovations but a fun place to go on vacation. This is a great place but be prepared to spend 2 to 4 hours if you plan on seeing the full place.

A Google User

Took my 8 yr old granddaughter to the Denver Zoo and was very pleased. Very well arranged so you can see the animals. Clean, kept up and new displays with New animal hospital coming 2020. Great family day

Mike Buchanan

Lots of construction going on. May be good for young kids. Animals were not very active. 4D experience was fun.

Emily Rogers

Had a great day at the Denver zoo! Lovely and unique exhibits with a nice variety of animals. The grounds were well kept and I liked the signs that had the animal's name on them. The STL zoo has set the bar high for me but I was really impressed here and home to come back.

Anna Martinez

It's a beautiful place for children..they can learn so much. An experience they will never forget.

Jason Hebrard

This zoo is meh. Most of the times we go, the animals are not on exhibit, so we end up walking around and getting sunburned for $63. They need better signage and the mobile app needs an interactive map with a location beacon.

LaDaiju Velez

Love how family friendly this place is and all the play areas for the children. The exhibits for all the animals are remarkable.

R377

Awesome place to go, literally in the middle of the city! The day was hot but the zoo was a great time! It’s bigger than you might think. Plan for at least a half-day, as there’s plenty to see and do. Fist time I’ve ever seen Cape Buffalo and a Cassowary! This zoo has animal shows daily as well as a decent aquarium! Go and enjoy. You won’t be disappointed. Did I mention they have Dole Whips? Oh yes....

Nora Elvis

Absolutely love this zoo! All of the animals have wonderful enclosures and Can be seen up close and personal. I could easily spend a whole day here and still want more. The only issue I encountered on my visit was a VERY long wait time at the ticket counter. I would recommend purchasing tickets online ahead of time.

Melissa Tugsal

Just moved to Denver & had a great time at the Zoo! I love that parking is free and definitely recommend the membership. You will get your money's worth after a few visits! It was a gorgeous zoo to walk around, can't wait to go back!

Ted Uhlemann

It's been quite a few years since I visited the Denver Zoo. The visit was really a nice experience. Beside the zoological collection, walking the grounds is a nine experience. It feels like a nice park, not just a sterile, institutional collection of animals. Watching one of the elephants swim completely under water was a blast. Admission is a bit pricey, but parking is fee. Kids under three are free.

Kena

Took my almost one month old (in hopes that he would actually enjoy himself) and he absolutely LOVED every second! The park is clean and well organized and there are lots of options for food and shops. Bathrooms were clean and theres always a shady spot to stop and rest. We only got to see half the park because my son was getting tired and cranky, but we will definitely be returning!

Mike Trent

Not vastly different than most zoos I've been to, but still a great zoo by most standards. They seem to be doing a lot of unique conservation work, which I greatly appreciate and want to encourage. We got lucky and were able to see their new two month old lion cub. He was active and playful and adorable. They have a VERY impressive elephant exhibit as well.

Billie Thompson-Romie

A Beautiful Zoo with a wide array of animals & beautiful grounds. Loved the geese and their families walking about all thru The Park. The entrance fee is reasonable & if you look online you can get coupons for addition money off. It will take approx 4 hours to get thru the whole park. There are food stands that are reasonable & quite good in lunch or dinner. Ice cold beer for sale with ID. Highly recommend if in the Denver area.

David Kethcart

A good zoo! A good mix with constant improvements. With my daughter, plenty of fun to have there

Matt Nielsen

Sadly their supply of dinosaurs and unicorns were lacking. I thought that staff was friendly and beside some places smelling like a barn(mostly by the elephants) it was a great experience!

Patrick Crowley

Lots of animals and displays, with helpful staff. Saw a nice elephant show and 4D movie, rode a train and a carousel. Needs to put a bottle filling station any where there is a drinking foutain and put them on the map that they hand out. Souvenirs are a bit pricey.

Joshua Avis

It was fantastic! Lots of freaking pumpkin sculptures in a bunch of animal and fish designs and a nice cheap Rose apple cider to help dull the chill of the cool night air. Careful the cider has alcohol.

Leslie Bostwick

Great zoo. Always clean and well kept. Kids always enjoy it.

Zach Bolton

Amazing animals, beautiful grounds and friendly staff. Somehow feels like I was able to get closer to these animals than any other Zoo I've been too. Highly recommend.

Caleb Peacock

Always a good time at Denver zoo. The animals are well cared after. The staff is friendly and they are always expanding! They host lots of events as well. I have the season pass and it is Definitely worth it! Even If you live in Colorado springs like me.

Dave Miller

Really liked the variety of animals that the Denver Zoo has to offer. If you have a birthday you get in free on your birthday so make sure to take advantage it will save you some cash. It is a lot of walking on hot days so make sure you bring snack and water they do allow you to bring in food.

Nicole Skidmore

Scary crowds on free day- not a surprise really but if you want to park anywhere near the zoo get there before it opens. Otherwise it's a pretty good zoo with lots of different animals.

Wendy Smith

My husband and I loved it! I love the layout. It's SOOOO CLEAN! The landscaping to match the animals natural habitat is unbelievably beautiful and throughout the Zoo grounds. Had as much nice experience looking at landscape and the animals!

Joel Bowers

Fun for all ages and disabilities. Ready to walk around the loop and see amazing animals. Fun carousel and train too!

Stephanie Olivas

Love the new additions to the zoo but was sad to see the big cats building was down for renovation. Docked one star for the lack of a second entrance. It’s sorely needed with the huge parking lot.

Laura Mirelez

Love the Zoo! Family friendly and lots of activities for everyone. Including a new 4D Theater, as well as the train and carousel-

Dana Everett

Boo at the Zoo was fun but unfortunately, many of the animals weren't out. We were able to walk around the entire zoo in a few hours.

Xero sama

Great zoo, awesome carousel for the kids (and the big ones, too) and delicious fries! Definitely a go too for the family

Katelyn Geri

The staff were all very knowledgeable and happy to share information on the animals. It was clean and even with a bunch of school field trips going on, the zoo was spacious enough that we never felt crowded.

Phillip Hamilton

Accessible parking was great, very convenient to the zoo entrance. Landscaping is well done. The only drawback was that of all of the animal viewing, there were very few animals to see. Most of the enclosures were empty. It was not a hot day so if the animals were inside for some reason there is no way for viewing them. Rather disappointing.

FreeRangeChristian

I had the best day at the zoo yesterday with a friend. Yes, just two adults and no kids! Give yourself at least 3 hours here! We saw a lion cub and a baby monkey (see the pics). The babies were soooo cute and playful. I was quite impressed with this zoo. They have several yummy food and beer options with food huts in various places throughout the zoo. There was food ranging from Korean - Mexican - American. We got bison tacos from a food truck that was parked inside the zoo! It was delicious! Will try the Korean food next time. The animals looked very well taken care of. We watched penguins hop about and swim. There were even an elephant and sea lion presentation. The elephant was free to roam in and out during the informational presentation, but he stayed the whole time and even gave the crowd a few poses without prompting. We couldn't stay for the sea lion presentation, so will have to do that next time. This zoo was very clean and the smells were not bad at all. I'm sensitive to odors and was able to handle the whole zoo. There was an area where some monkeys could swing on ropes right above us as they cross from one area to another. Although I didn't see any do this, I thought this was amazing! The care takers at this zoo were happy and good with the animals. We were so pleased to see this. The zoo itself was pretty and well laid out.

L M

I used to volunteer here in my youth, before the new enclosures of the Asian animals.. And all I can say is WOW. Our last visit here was fantastic, there was a volunteer collecting signatures to bring back the wolves. I can see from the many displays in the zoo, affection from trainers, s Feeding, cleaning, they love and care about these animals greatly. I wish we could all do more to help!

alma salinas

This was our first time here and I was pretty disappointed. My son had a great time so I have to give a couple of stars. We came on a snow but sunny day. Half the exhibits were closed but no one mentioned anything about the closures when we bought tickets. The inside exhibits we pretty great. There was so much potential here and I really wanted to love this zoo. Food was awful, so eat before coming to the zoo.

Traitorous Syn

The zoo is a fun place to come. It was pretty busy. I'd advise showing up when they open and prepay for tickets online. 1. You avoid the lines and find decent parking. (Which there are quite a few parking spots, even a parking garage with 4 levels.) 2. You can check out most of the shows and educational programs they have running throughout the day. Food and drinks are fairly pricey but that goes with any attractions. Pictures are of people feeding Llamas! One of the many shows they have running.

Maria Lopez

Loved the zoo since I was a little!! I enjoy taking my kids but the only thing I think is a little bit of a bummer is that most of the exhibits have no animals. You spend a lot of time walking around to see nothing

Jason Wissner

As a Denver native I've been going here for many years and now that I get to take my kids there, it's a far better experience than it's ever been. They continually improve it and it's extremely well-managed.

Yvette maynard

This is a really good zoo, we really liked how the animal's enclosures looked natural and how much room they had. We also liked the animal education shows.

Margaret Janzen

Loved the layout & the wonderful, varied landscaping & foliage, with plenty of shade & sun-dappled paths. A bit disappointed more of the animals weren't out.

Daniel Johnson

Zoo was clean and not so busy, but the patrons must have known something we didn't. Many exhibits were closed, animals were away sheltered, and shows were cancelled which weren't announced on the website. Luckily we have a membership so we'll try again.

George Powell

A great place for an early morning walk. Lots of animals, informative volunteers and one of the few places you can find dole whip. Membership is well worthwhile if you live in the metro area.

John Sheesley

Of course it's fun, it's the zoo! They serve beer now, and the food has gotten a lot better. You can spend hours here, be sure to ask for directions to see the animals you want to see.

Bethany Benson

I love this zoo and all the animals here. The membership is a MUST if you plan to visit more than once. Such a great value. I love taking my son here!

Jennifer Burk

Went to the Denver Zoo with my son on an 18 hour layover to Arizona, the zoo allowed us to check our backpacks in a secure area in the Welcome Center so we didn't have to lug them around all day. The staff were extremely nice and helpful when needed, they immediately directed to hurry and see the new cub as we got there late in the day and they wanted us to see it. The exhibits were pretty and the animals were more than taken care of (have been to a few zoo's where the animals and exhibits looked as though they weren't being taken care of). I wish we didn't get there so late in the day so we could have taken our time a little more, but it was still a good day spent with plenty to see! This zoo made for a good time on our layover in Denver. Also, make sure you get some of the strawberry ice cream... I told my son no at first, but am glad we got it on the way out as it was DELICIOUS! Perfect after a nice warm day walking the zoo!

Robert Price

One of my favorite past times!! Go to the zoo in every city I visit. Denver zoo is definitely in my top three favorites! Especially for the memories it holds over the years!

Kailey D

Lovely zoo with large habitats for the animals. Some animals seemed to be stressed however, most likely because of loud children and the heat. The novelty of walking through bird biomes and the birds having freedom to do as they please, was exceptional. The only drawbacks of this zoo are the lack of signage or organization of the habitats. It makes it hard to know where your wondering or if your going in the right direction.

Jon Murray

We went for grandparents day, yesterday, with our little one, and my parents, and while the park was very busy, it was a beautiful day, and the visit was very enjoyable! All our employee interactions were wonderful! You could tell that the majority of the people working and volunteering at the zoo, truly want to be there! We learned a lot, had a great time, and actually had really good food, as well. We went to the food truck near the train and carousel, and the food was expensive, but absolutely delicious!!

Noah Petramala

Every time we come back to Denver we like to go to the zoo. It’s fairly affordable and the have great attractions. We do miss the polar bears though. Well worth the trip.

J Bray

The Denver Zoo is always a great place to visit, They have opened the new bear habitat, the tropical wildlife and fish exhibit was great with cleaned tanks and a new population expansion, didn't get to see the baby lion, the line was too long. But nevertheless it was a great visit and great weather

Claire Bennett

It was amazing! There are a lot of things to explore. Most of the animal areas were very clean with plenty of space and entertainment for the animals. We really enjoyed our visit. I'd recommend planning your day so that you can spend a few hours at the zoo.

C Drummond

Great staff there help to continual elevate the experience as visitors there. There seems to be a lot of shifting around and quite a bit less animals than in the past. It would be nice and helpful to have some idea about why that is and what the zoo's plans are. A little more transparency would make this 5/5 for me.

jim ferry

Nice sized zoo. The selection of animals is somewhat limited compared to larger city zoos, but it is clean and the animals look well maintained. Admission is reasonable at 20 dollars. There are good food selections scattered throughout the park. Parking is free!

rebeccae1981

The Denver Zoo never disappoints! You can rent a stroller for your children, eat just about any type of food from Pizza to Burgers to amazing BBQ, the park is always extremely clean and decorated for each season!

STEPHANIE FERNANDEZ

We went when the Zoo was "closed" making it free on Monday. It is not closed closed because ppl are still selling stuffed animals and you can go in and see animals but I guess there is no shows. Staff is still there to help with maps and security and even to serve you soda and what not. We went later in the day and it was cold meaning 40° or so and there was not many animals out but still saw a few. There was a marry go round it was nice.

Jamie Smith

This place has changed so much since I was last there. It is like going to a beautiful park now. The landscaping is wonderful and so are the newer features they added a bit ago.

Tyler Jones

Boo at the zoo at night is so much more spectacular than boo at the zoo during the day. I know you pay for it at all but it is way more fun for the kids and exhilarating with all the pumpkin's an other carvings and spectacular stuff that the staff at the Denver zoo do.

Danielle Speed

Despite a crowd for Boo at the Zoo, it wasn't too crowded! I was told to expect more candy, but it's all good. My toddler doesn't need candy.

Daniel Madson

The Denver zoo is great. There are so many fantastic exhibits you can spend a whole day there and never get bored. The elephants enclosure is so vast and wonderful. You can watch them come into an area where they get check-ups for everyone to see and learn. It's really nice that it is so close to the large parks and the museum as well. The food in the are is wonderful as well.

T'Alana Stone

Lovely zoo. Beautiful animal habitats. Wish it were a little more family friendly. We approached the bird house and were told, rather snappishly, by an employee that strollers were not allowed inside. When my husband went in there was plenty of space, and no explanation as to why we had to leave the strollers outside (maybe provide a stroller parking area with an employee to keep an eye on it) and schlep our children and all our possessions through while hoping that our stroller didn't get stolen while we weren't out there. It's a bummer. I think my toddler would have loved to see the birds.

brandon johnson

Denver Zoo is one of the best zoos I've ever been to. Not too big or overwhelming for my two year old but you can still spend an entire day here. The staff puts a lot of care into both customer happiness and animal happiness. Great food, snacks and even beer! Lots for families or a grownup date!

Molly Murphy

Overall, I enjoyed my experience at the zoo. However, the time I went (which was midday) there weren't many animals out. It was like 50/50. There may be a hog out to see there might not be a hog out to see. There might be an orangutan and there might not be an orangutan.

Mike Peddycord

Definitely one of the countries top zoos. Most of the animal habitats are spacious, they try to keep the predators challenged with their feeding. Always updating and seeking better ways to care for their animals. Certain breeds are rescue only. Remainder are born in captivity.

Jared Bichler

The Denver Zoo is a perfect place to learn about animals. The ever-expanding zoo holds multiple species as well as the largest collection of male Asian elephants in the country. I feel like it's animals first here and all the animals seem very comfortable around humans. Denver Zoo is perfect for the young, and the young at heart.

Amit Tiwari

Beautiful zoo in the middle of the downtown. We really enjoyed the Zoo Lights at night. It was really fun.

Lyn San Pietro

Such a good time! Plenty of parking! Expensive food but good food. 2 year old granddaughter had a great time! Plenty of shady areas.

Jean Delashmit

Large, well maintained, and growing zoo. Animal welfare is highly regarded. Very knowledgable staff members are at the major exhibits to answer questions and to give insight. Reasonable admission cost.

Emily Reed

We absolutely love the zoo. My best advice is to go early- the parking is way better and there are less people.

CLINTON the4th

The Denver Zoo is a great Zoo with exquisite habitats for the animals and a great layout that makes for a perfect opportunity to see the whole zoo and attractions. Denver Zoo participates in the Species Survival Plan and has a strong emphasis on education. Zoo volunteers help guide and share insights with Zoo visitors.

dakota gurl

Awesome animals ! My family came all the way from south dakota and stopped here on our weekend trip, about $108 for 3 kids and 3 adults. We brought drinks and snacks to save on cash. The parking lot was smooth getting in and out. We enjoyed ourselves and made great memories

Solymar Fernandez

Make sure if you visit Denver you should go to the Denver Zoo. Their staff is amazing is very informative you learn a lot. It's fun for the kids. You can see the animals very close the shows are very informative and very fun to see.

Drake Friedman

Well kept zoo! Animals feel as happy as they can be for being in a zoo. Bring a water bottle! They were awesome about educating everyone about the dangers if unethically sourced Palm Oil during the Elephant show. Then about Recycling in seal show, recyclling/compost boxes everywhere. Reuse, water fill stations. Tofu!!

Quite Refreshing

We have a membership and go often. It seems like a nice place. Most of the animals seem happy and healthy. They have a conservation program. This is a nice place to spend the day. The food is actually really good and they let you bring your own food. The membership for a year is only 100 for the family. Really fun place

Terry Tate

Always a beautiful place to spend the morning or late afternoon... Not a 11-2 pm place to be it's generally hot and the animals are not very active, if you come early and bring a picnic to eat at the zoo or city park, about noon take a couple hour break to eat then return to finish the tour it's a perfect day!

Daniel Gethner

This zoo is wonderful! There are a lot of different angles you can view most of the animals. Also plenty of places to sit and take a rest. Surprising the pizza was very good as well! Parking is close by and a lot to see to take up an entire afternoon!

Volomon

Interesting, fun, and adventurous. Though I have to say not nearly as big as I was hoping. Unlike the Cincinnati Zoo, however thank god it wasn't anything like the Indianapolis Zoo which basically you walk in and walk out and it's over.

S Brecht

Beautiful exhibits, staff is very friendly and helpful with answering questions. Recommend getting a year pass-%10 off food and drinks, %20 off souvenir shops. At the brewery stands purchase the souvenir glass and that combined with your year pass gets your drink cheaper and it’s worth it! It’s pricey the first time because you are purchasing the glass, but when you bring it with you for your next beer it’s cheaper. Purchase the souvenir soda cup for around $5 and then your refills are around $1.50. You can pack in lunches and find plenty of places to sit and eat. Parking is a little snug since it is next to the museum and if the museum is packed unfortunately some people come and park at the zoo and walk over to the museum. Taking spots away from people trying to go to the zoo. Sadly it happens a lot and I’ve seen it all to often. Frustrating! Come at opening time and you will have easy parking. Come at lunch time and it’s much harder to find parking.

David Palmer

We spent all day walking around and taking photos of animals. All animals are clean and have enough space for comfort living. Would recommend coming early in the morning to see lions and bears as they usually sleep at noon. There are some restaurants where you can eat pizza and ice-cream. Great place! We will be back with our relatives who are coming from the overseas.

T Cook

I haven't been to the Denver Zoo in at least a decade. Had a amazing time. Seeing the joy on everyone's face from Seniors to children and adults. Parking is a little challenging so plan to arrive a little early. Wear comfortable shoes plenty of walking. would definitely recommend The Denver Zoo!

Simply Brian

The zoo is currently updating quite a few exhibits. Unfortunately, that means the feline building and bird world are unavailable. The elephants, lions and giraffes are the stars of this zoo and definitely worth a visit. Once the construction is complete, should be 5 star again.

Whitter Lee

spent the whole day but still didn't see everything! so much to see and do. glad it is only an hour from where i live. everyone was so nice and had a lot of cool info for my kids and i. already excited to go back! the only reason got 4 stars instead of 5 is that a regular soft serve ice cream cone was $4... SERIOUSLY!? 5 in our group... it would have been $20. not everyone at the zoo is rich. we saved the money and went to McDonald's afterwards. got burgers AND ice cream for that $$$. my only complaint. what a fun day!

Emily Flaugher

Love the Zoo! The EBT discount tickets are just the most wonderful thing. Thank you so much for doing this. It gives my children such joy to go to the zoo and normally we would have to save up for something like this.

Jacqueline Kemp

The Denver Zoo is awesome. The walkways are wide enough to get around even on a crowded day. There's loads to see. The new tiger exhibit is beautiful! Even as an adult the zoo is a great place to visit when family is in town.

Jessica King

We've been season pass holders for 5 years and love the zoo. It's well priced, clean and enjoyable to spend the day here.

Ross Jacobsmeyer

Very good that could move into the ranks of great zoos with some effort. Imaginative exhibits, some perhaps a bit too small. Food options could be improved quality-wise. Train ride is cute but should be expanded.

Ryan Woolf

We had the opportunity to take part in the Denver Zoo's Backstage Experience. Marty Sweeney made the entire experience absolutely wonderful. Marty and the rest of the Zoo staff took the time to make my daughter's birthday truly a memorable experience. In addition to all that Marty did, her colleagues, Carly, Krystin, and Shannon we kind, caring, and extremely knowledge about the animals we were able to meet.

Rachael Pitrone

Such a fun zoo with a variety of indoor and outdoor attractions. Love the Toyota Elephant Passage and if you're able to catch a slow, the zookeepers have such wonderful information to share. Download the app for a map, schedule, and to see each animal and even know their names and ages!

Kyetra Williams

I love this zoo! I went here as a child and I loved coming back. It was just just as beautiful as is was in the 90s. The animals were amazing! I went with my boyfriend and we had a blast! I love the the peacocks still roam around and are so interactive. Make sure you stop here when you’re in Denver!

Bryson McHardy

Wonderful zoo nice size and variety of exhibits. The animals generally have large natural enclosures. They are deeply involved in conservation activities worldwide.

Deanna Edwards

Normally I love the zoo. And I was really looking forward to this visit, since I had not been to the zoo in years. But, I had many issues with my visit. So I have to give 3 stars instead of 5...#1 I was having mobility issues, there should be a check in line for people with mobility issues. Along those lines there were several exhibits(Rain forest building, Tropical Discovery and at least one other building) that were unavailable to me because of my scooter. I missed out on seeing many unique animals. #2 None of the bathroom entrances were big enough for a wheelchair or scooter to enter. This is not good for people who have trouble walking. And 3# most of the animals I wanted to see, just weren't out. No Bears, no Fennec Foxes, no Pandas (Asian or red), no Rhinos...and no Tigers! I was really looking forward to the tiger exhibit "The Edge", we stopped by multiple times, and no tigers. Also, much of the exhibits were under construction. So, a lack of animals to see and a lack of handicapped accessible buildings and bathrooms. Made for an OK visit. The weather was great & the staff was all very friendly and helpful. Maybe I will see more animals next year.

Denise Steininger

I went with my boyfriend, both of us in mobility scooters. The place was wheelchair accessible except the doors into buildings. We still had a great time and enjoyed the zoo. Line to buy tickets was long in the hot sun but it moved quickly.

greg wasio

Great place to have family fun. Make sure that you come early beacuse this place is huge. Takes awhile to make it all the way around. Pack a lunch and plenty of fluids. Perfect place to have a picnic.

Tina Putauskiene

I'm really lucky to live in a city where its the best zoo in the world for the animals in mind (Chester, UK). But whilst in CO we visited and it was so on par

Tosha Goodwin

Love the zoo. A little construction going on but still easy to navigate around and enjoy the animals.

richard

The layout and exhibits are really cool. They have food and drink available throughout and the staff and volunteers are really friendly (aside from this one "security guard" who thinks it's ok to take a tone with people. How he got the job I'll never know because he looks like a strong breeze could knock him down, let alone any high school athlete. A tallish white guy who looks to be about 40 with a mustache who probably knows he's a loser and can only feel like he's any type of someone by putting on that uniform.) But any way, it's definitely a good way to spend the day. The elephant and seal shows are fun to watch. They seem to keep the habitats as conducive to the animals as possible, and it's all pretty clean. If once you're done, you're not ready to go home, the Nature and Science Museum and Civic Park is right there. The only reason I give it 4 stars is that it's pretty expensive. The price of admission is now $20 per adult. The 2 of us ate a bbq sandwich each (which was good,) shared 1 large soda and a large bottled water for $35, so it was a $75 three hour event for 2 adults. They take American Express except at the ticket window.

Jacquelyn Ambrose

Denver has one of the best zoo's ever. I have traveled quite a bit and my home town zoo is still my absoulte favorite. It's really not too crowed during the week! And if you get there early you can see all the shows for free. A little pricey to get in but it all goes to a good cause and keeping the animals happy. The exhibits always look clean!

pamela knight

For the price as part of City Pass an exceptional value. The zoo is small and intimate. Big enough to enjoy learning and exploring, but small enough to visit in the morning and then go visit the Botanical Gardens after lunch.

Karl S

Always love our zoo. Great place for a walk and to see all the animals. The volunteers love to tell you so much about the animals. They almost sound like parents.

Patrick Heuer

We love coming to the zoo. The exhibits are nice, and seem to always be improving. If there is an active display, the staff always prioritize the animals safety, and they never are forceful toward any animal participation.

Andrew Bodensiek

Too pricey for what it is. But a great local attraction. Love the rainforest center. Great for the family.

Aravind V

A very nice Zoo with a great variety of species. The Lorikeet feeding is an awesome experience. In general, the food inside is not that great and could use more vegetarian options. It would take a while day to see everything; So come when it opens itself and plan to bring food to beat the lines in the eateries.

Bo Morgan

Great zoo large selection of animals. Very clean, and well kept. Friendly and helpful staff all among the way. And it wasnt too big, you can see the whole thing in a few hours.

Bill Gwaltney

Great zoo with many interesting animals and activities. Free parking in the garage or adjacent surface lot. The line to purchase tickets was a bit long but we were able to just buy tickets online and skip the wait. They have some great season pass options that if you are local and plan to visit regularly would definitely be worthwhile.

Karen Coker

Love this place. The animals were fairly interactive. The bird aviary was simply amazing. Great for family's plan ahead for show times

Debbie Peters

We just had a behind the scenes tour of Predator Ridge and enjoyed Enchanted Hallows. What a magical evening!

Cissy Hill

This place is huge. We had a great time here. We spent 4 hours here and it still was not enough time to see everything. We will definitely go back.

Amanda Schelonka

This zoo thankfully has the appropriate exhibit sizes for their animals. They all seem happy and healthy. The zoo is clean and beautifully landscaped. Staff are helpful and taught my siblings a lot about the animals and their habitats.

Jessica Johnson

Lots of construction going on. The animals that we were able to see were great. Clean and open facility. Would like to have known that all monkeys, apes and bears were not viewable due to the construction.

Scott DeHuff

Always fun. They have great breakfast burritos in their sit down restaurant, that's off to the right when you first walk into the zoo. Friendly staff. Clean. I've been taking our kids here for 6 years, multiple times a year. Not one bad experience... with the exception of temper tantrums.

Vincent Caterson

Absolutely amazing, while some exhibits have been closing down without much warning, we know that they will continue to fill those spaces with more beautiful and fantastic animals. Plus, their developing a new nursery that I am incredibly excited to see.
