One of the best. My kids held a tarantula. They played in dirt searching for grubs. The butterfly garden is the best.

C. Parker McMullen Bushman

I love this place. And not just because I work here!

AM D

This place is so great. We allegedly visit here so the nephews can enjoy it, but I honestly love it too. The exhibits are amazing and of course I love Rosie the tarantula!!! The staff are friendly and knowledgeable if you have questions about the critters. Very easy to park at. Definitely a must-visit!!!!

Elizabeth Hieb

Beautiful date spot ❤️

Lesley Guerrero-Gomez

Fun now that my daughter is a little older. Def definitely would not want to pay for the price of the tickets for admission had I not gotten the culture pass from the library.... They charge full adult price for three-year-olds

Donovan Meek

Went here on a road trip just for a quick stop. Not as large as I hoped, but I saw plenty of butterfly's and insects that I've never seen before. As long as it's not too busy I imagine this is a really good place to visit. Had fun, employees were very kind, and fantastic place for kids(Just don't let them touch the butterflies).

Sam Davis

This was the second time going with a large group of kids and the staff were all so excited to see so many kids. They did a private teaching about bugs and find out it qualifies as zoo. The kids all had so much fun, they loved holding Rosy. Highly recommend this place. Lots of awesome butterflies.

Sally Hanley

Lots of fun! We came for the butterflies but also enjoyed the tarantulas and octopus. Took about an hour to walk through everything, taking our time.

Andris Vizulis

This a most amazing place if you want to learn about all manner of insects, butterflies, and similar creatures. Faacinating, well put together exhibits that visitors of all ages will find stimulating. The butterfly room itself is one of the best I've ever seen. Staff is especially knowledgeable and helpful. Well worth a stop. I'd say allow a couple of hours.

Paula Pierce

Great place for kids & adults. Enjoyed the outing and learned several things too! Enjoyed!

Nicole Simoes

The butterfly nursery space was completely enchanting. The variety of butterflies makes them even more beautiful. I brought my 2 month old son and a friend came with her 2 year old and they both loved it! The pavilion is for everyone truly, you can't help be totally captivated by the natural space. There is an aquarium section where kids get to touch star fish. This was another great area. The staff is friendly and they are happy interacting w the kids. Also, the have a new play space that mimics Colorado outdoors, kids LOVE this area as well. All around great place for anyone to visit!

Joanna O

This is a really fun and educational place to go with kids. Their butterfly area is amazing but they also have bees, beetles, coral, crabs and more. Plus they have face/arm painting, and special activities like nature walks. I would recommend it for kids of just about any age, though it might be a bit small for teens unless they do a targeted program like a class or nature walk.

Nam Le

It's a small place but it definitely entertained the kids for a few hours. Lots of information for the kids to learn about. Super friendly staff.

Kenzie Reynolds

Such an interesting place to go if you catch yourself bored in Denver. It's fairly inexpensive and it's fun for all ages. It was a great learning experience and I loved getting to see so many insects up close and personal. They have food and a nice little walking area behind the facility. Not exactly sure if it's something I'd go to twice but it was amazing the first time!

Batalia Hewlett

Lovely place and a must place to visit if your in the boulder, westminster area. Lots of butterfly's and is also an invertebrate zoo.

Adam Anthony

more than just butterflies, they have some other displays/critters too and a decent play area. Good place to keep little ones busy for a few hours. The butterfly room was really cool, lots of different species.

Rita Pearson

This is a really cool place to take the whole family! Kids love it! There are fish and bugs to see and to learn about. It's fun, while educational at the same time. The gift shop is huge and has such a good selection. The butterfly pavilion is wonderful! So many butterflies flying around. And....they like blue or purple so be sure to wear it. I had a huge butterfly land on my back and was there like 20 minutes! Great place to visit!

David Chin

Very nice way to beat the heat 104 and enjoy nnature.

cortney palm

They talk about perserving habitats but sell the dead bodies of animals (which animal agriculture is a leading cause of deforestation to begin with!) Not cool with the small cages and fake plants in the insect/spider habitat room. Spiders need to move they can't just be trapped in a box. I like how the butterflies are free to roam around a lovely space of incredible plant species. Honestly, animals shouldnt be kept in small spaces or captivity. I've lived in the jungle and insects and spiders roam. I've spent time in water and know starfish to move around a lot as well. Same with horeshoe crabs. The volunteers are all very friendly. Plenty of free parking. Outdoor open space nearby.

Austin West

Wonderful family time. What is particularly nice is the staff. They have managed to assemble a team that clearly cares across the board. The bright-eyed enthusiasm is contagious, and makes the experience seamless for any age. (Kids in tow or otherwise)

Joseph R

The facility is pretty small but they have more things then butterflies. U can have a spider crawl on u and they have a peacock shrimp mantis.

Carl D

A+. This is an excellent place for children to see many varieties of arthropods that they have on hand. That is not to mention all of the butterfly varieties. As a family we have enjoyed this place several times over the years. A great place for the whole family to visit. 5 stars!

Jason R

What a great place to bring kids or just go as an adult. Id recommend going by yourself one time just to soak it all in.

Geri Stein

Took amazing photos for my portfolio here. Cutest thing when they land on you!

Sandra Brooks

Awful visit the workers were rude and people let their older children run all over the smaller ones.

Matt Branca

Well, you've got the bug area, the fish area, and the butterfly part. Takes 15 minutes to an hour to do the whole thing, depending on how much you want to learn while you're there. Knowledgeable staff who know a lot of stuff about things are continuously educating you as you walk through. Some even know things about stuff! Nice gift store, Nathan's hot dogs out front, and no long lines.

Shelby Zinchini

my favorite place to go!! i find the best time to be in the butterfly room is early in morning or afternoon to beat the rush they sometimes have. such a majestic and beautiful place :)

Laura T

This is such a great place! Little kiddos will enjoy the butterfly room, seeing spiders, a bee hive, and some aquarium creatures. There's also an indoor play area and an outdoor nature trail. Big kids will enjoy holding cockroaches and tarantulas and the educational aspects of the exhibits and trail. They also offer great spring and summer break camps.

Colan Scheidenhelm

Always a fun place to take the kids. Great exhibits including Rosie the tarantula, who the kids get to have crawl on their hands. There is an indoor play place that is good for kids up to about age 7 or so, and then a huge trail outdoors, along with tons of space to eat while looking at the great landscaping. All kinds of restaurants are close by as well!

Tatiana Carrillo

Amazing experience will come back again , friendly staff. Lots of fun facts and a cute, scary looking tarantula haha. There’s going to be something fun for spider lovers so go check out the website .

Grandma marchiondo

Go early!!! The school buses arrive by 10a...love the children; the shear numbers make it a challenge. Our little ones, 2@3 were thrilled with the butterflies. Didn't take the time to go through the entire Pavilion. Nice people.

Shannon Craig

Such a neat experience. Great for kids and adults. Butterflies will land on you. There is so much more to see and learn. Hands on aquatic exibit, live bee pollination. There is food served here as well with a nice outdoor heated patio.

Andrea Bennett

Worth the drive if you do not live in the area. Great facility! Great for kids of all ages. Play area for all ages. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. You can tell they love what they are doing. Very animated and great with kids! Clean facilities and well priced. We have been a few times!

Cathy Davidson

What a neat place, if you love little critters. Fun, interactive and educational. Would love to see a bigger variety of butterflys, but really cool. Super nice docents.

Matthew Garcia

Good educational family fun at an affordable price. As a member I also feel that the percs offered make me feel appreciated.

Eric Foster

We have been here many times and have always had fun. They keep the exhibits rotating and there is always something interesting for the kids.

Luna Lake

The Water's Edge and Crawl-a-See-um exhibits were fairly small for the price. The gift store was huge of course so they can keep that money train going. The free flying butterfly exhibit was nice though.

Zoe Pontalion

Much much smaller than I imagined, this place is basically 2 rooms and the butterfly walkthrough. It was also incredibly noisy with screaming kids everywhere. The isopods and horseshoe crabs were fascinating, but the whole place could do with more information about the creatures on display.

J col

Nice little place. Good variety of exhibits(not just butterflies) & of course the butterflies... There are a lot of them, in a small rain forest, very well done. You will encounter many of them. It is a bit overpriced/costly though.

Skinny Winkler

I have been here about 6 times. I know my wife has been here SEVERAL times. Great place. Lots of information. When I was young, I was a very serious amateur entomologist. I think it would be cool to formulate a cool "game" where the kids could organize pictures of the different types of insects into their corresponding "orders".

Kofi and Deb Saeed

We like bringing our kids here. We finally bought a membership because we come so much. My favorite part is the butterflies. My husband and one of our daughters like to hold Rosie. I finally held Rosie today. Our youngest daughter loves the fish. The octopus was pretty cool. All around we enjoy ourselves each time we come.

Hillary Westover

Wonderful family museum. My favorite was the butterfly room. It was so beautiful and peaceful. My 11 year old daughter thought the hatching cocoons were so cool. There are some hands on exhibits which we pet a star fish. This is good for kids and adults of all ages.

Ann Wilson

I love this place lots of fun !! And a good place to take the kids !!

Lizeth Chacon 8a

My favorite place!!

Marie D

Such a great place for kids to learn about insects. Much of it is interactive also, which is great. They do a nice job fitting a good amount of big-life into the small space.

ashley y

Cute little place, but don't expect to spend more than an hour here. Got to hold the tarantula with a photo op. The volunteers there were nice.

Jose Vieitez

Such a cool place! Butterflies fly all around you and they can land on you! They also have a butterfly hatching section which is fascinating; you can see pupae slowly hatching live since there are so many at such different stages. There’s also a cool fish section where you can touch horseshoe crabs and starfish! And a kids play area, of course, to get their energy out!

Tad Amore

What a great place! Butterflies spiders crabs and all kinds of crazy bugs to play with! Also you can have a kids birthday party there! The staff is super friendly it's affordable to go do the place is clean it's a must-see

Tyler Vandenberg

We had a great time, even went on a nature walk with 2 staff members and caught Mantises. Facility and Staff are all very nice.

Cory Pavicich

My 5 and 7 year old had a great time. They spent almost an hour digging for mealworms in one room, and loved exploring the greenhouse and "finding" butterflies. I brought a stroller for the two year old, but never used it. The place isn't so big that you can't pick them up or walk with them between the three rooms and the greenhouse.

April G

We love coming to the Butterfly Pavillion. It's a great place to take out of town family, especially during colder days because it's super warm inside. The exhibits are smaller, but very informational and hands on. Rosie the tarantula is very sweet, and easy to psych yourself up to hold even if you're scared of spiders. The gift shop has some amazing artwork and the staff here is friendlier than most Denver area family attractions.

Samantha Connelly

I got a membership as a gift and decided to try it out during spring break. I have never met a more pleasant staff, they were so friendly and nice. I had an extra person with me and a pass and they let me keep it "for a rainy day" because they were a little busier than normal. Everyone we encountered were so knowledgeable. Lady in the gift shop took time to interact with my kids and commented nice things from noticing my daughters interest in the character on her backpack to complimenting a sweater. Nice exhibits and the butterfly room is so beautiful and peaceful even full of people. We had such a good day and will definitely renew the membership when the time comes!!

Wayne Mceachron

Great spot for kids and the family!

Pamela Johnson

We went on a Friday afternoon. It wasn’t very busy so that was really nice. The staff is knowledgeable and understands their topics. They were all very helpful in answering questions. The place is fascinating because it’s not just butterflies. A very tranquil place to spend any afternoon if you can. We even found a couple small items from the well stocked, well thought out gift shop.

Geoff B

It was a very nice place. Worth the price of admission. It was our last day in Denver and we were planning to spend a few hours there but had trouble keeping the kids (4 & 5) entertained so we had to cut the trip short at about an hour and a half .

Heather PuzzledParent

Loved the butterflys and being able to hold a tarantula. The ant colony entertained me for about a half and hour, lol. Entry was a little pricey for a large family. If they added a few more interactive exhibits and lowered the price a bit I would give it a higher rating. Almost completely wheel chair accessible.

Bishop Hahn

Love it a lot great place for kids and family just to check out new things and all the fun things

Jacob Canty

Fun place for family of all ages.

Jared Gregory

Great place. Some really interesting invertebrate exhibits that I had never seen before at other similar places. Got to hold a tarantula too. And the butterfly atrium was really nice! Bring a good camera. Slow motion filming on butterflies turned out pretty good.

Ben Lake

Six stars! This is not a huge zoo, and not really in the typical sense with large outdoor animals. It is billed as an "invertebrate zoo", so it focuses on insects but also has marine animals, too. But it really excels at providing meaningful kid experiences and our 3yo and 5yo really enjoyed it! Many of the terrariums have a kid-height platform so they can see the occupant up close. You can also hold "Rosie" the tarantula! The butterfly exhibit is obviously the biggest draw, and is really well done - not as large as Moody Gardens in Galveston, TX, but equally high-quality. Tons of opportunities to see large, colorful butterflies up close.

Serena D

What a great place to learn and explore bugs ... seriously. They seem to do really well with kids and have a lot more than just butterflies. It was wonderful to be amongst the butterflies- I really felt like I was transported to another place and loved watching all of them fly around. Do watch where you step though ... butterflies don't know not to land on the ground. Can't wait to go back!

C 1

Cool place to take young ones to learn the importance of bugs and butterflies. It's been here since I was in school, and is always fun got check out, especially if you are visiting. They have food and a small shop, so you can grab something if necessary. Good times, brings me back. And you must see Rosie before you leave!

Ashley Krischel

I love the Pavilion. Took a friend who'd never been and he loved it! We ended up staying 3 hours so he could hang out with the butterflies for as long as possible. :-) They do have an aquarium section and a creepy/crawly section where Rosie hangs out (rose hair tarantula that you can hold). It's fun! Check it out if you're looking for something to do!

Stephanie Silva

Well don’t think I’ll go back. Saw a young girl ripping up the plants and killing a butterfly while her mom was not even watching her. I feel so bad for these animals. Parents WATCH YOURE CHILDREN WHILE YOURE HERE FOR GODS SAKE!!!!! Informed someone a month n half ago about my issues (more then just what I put on here) gave them my mailing address for new tickets. Never got them. Been having to contact them on and off, not hearing nothing back to resolve anything - not to professional! It’s been WEEKS. Sad to say I must not be that important I’d only wish they’d make every guest important and have a good experience not the case I guess!!

Jason Wold

First time going there, and I had a blast! The butterfly release was amazing. So many different beautiful types of butterfly! And then there's the sealife, the octopus and horseshoe crabs. So much fun!

Ashleigh Stone

Love taking my nanny kids here! They remodeled the play area and theres so much for the kids to do and play with now! Also the butterflies are beautiful!

Sherri Barthel

This is a great place to take your children. Hands on experience. Butterfly exhibit was awesome. They have a hut outside that sells food. There is also picnic tables to eat at. You can walk around outside which is pretty nice to explore too. John was a great tour guide; he was funny and worked well with the children. Highly recommend this place!!!

Ian Cornell

Excellent place for kids and adults. It is a very unique experience to have a tarantula crawl on you and have a bunch of butterflies land on you on the same day. My 2 year old had a whole bunch of fun over there as well. I would definitely recommend this place for a good family trip during a weekend in the summer.

Becky Lane-Ramsey

We have always been welcomed with warm smiles and a helping attitude. The facility is well maintained. The animals are fascinating and the info about them is well presented and accessible. We love wandering in the beautiful gardens, as well. This is a gem!

Georgia Viado

We love the Butterfly Pavilion! It isn't too overwhelming or long for very small children. Engaging enough for big kids. Their gift shop is wonderful. Today we watched the new butterflies being released at the end of the day. It was informative and fun for me and my kids. There are lots of interactive elements. And there is a small play area at the end, which my kids always look forward to.

Rei Rei

Great place for children. However, you run out of things to do rather quickly. You can hold Rosie the tarantula, pet some seastars (I was informed they no longer like them being called starfish), and see some pretty cool live bugs. Of course the butterflies are beautiful! I think it's a little small of a space though. Its quiet, educational, and a good experience overall. I believe they should think about farming butterflies to sell the chrysalis' for educational purposes too. Just a business thought.

Brian Alan

Easily a 5 star experience for families with young children. There's lots of hands on and interactive exhibits, the staff is patient and knowledgeable, and the cost is small for admission. You can easily see everything in a short amount of time, great for those youngsters with short attention spans, or you can go sit quietly in the butterfly room and enjoy watching the wildlife fluttering around you. One thing worth going for is when they release newly hatched butterflies. Not sure when they do that during the day, but I'm sure a quick phone call can answer that.

sean Ball

what an outstanding venue to bring a little one. My two-year-old was on static blow out of excitement to the entire time. I saw a few things got me pretty excited too. a lot of press had people thinking that this place was closing in the next two years, and it was quiet, for a rainy October Tuesday afternoon. turn from the front desk there will be at least 3 years before can you slow down at this facility. I really enjoyed the outdoor trails, the giant sea sailbug, and the bees! I hope more mollusks are introduced into the exhibits. Kind of a fair amount of showboating teen getting large crowds for feedings camera did actually reduce the value of getting the kids up close

Evans Winner

A lovely place to spend a couple of hours. You can hold Rosy the tarantula, look at lots in interesting insects, and walk among the butterflies. The butterfly enclosure itself is not large, but is densely packed with many species. It's a nice place to go on a cold day, as they keep it pretty warm in the pavilion-proper. There is a gift shop with mementos and toys, some quasi-educational, and a little play area for the very young to work out some energy -- the place is naturally somewhat geared toward kids. Our four-year-old loves the place, which is really probably all that needs to be said in a review.

Robert Finger

What a great place to learn, have fun, and enjoy nature all at the same time! The kids always enjoy visiting, almost as much as I do! The butterflies were extremely active, which made for tons of laughs and great pictures. Parking can be tough, usually stick to the overflow lot.

C Hardin

So many gorgeous butterflies fluttering around. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed watching the different types interact. Definitely an afternoon well spent.

Kyle Madigan

Fun place for kids, and even as an adult learned some things. They have three major zones, first is a small room of spiders and stuff, this is the worst part and sets up expectations to be low. The 2nd is a aquarium that is pretty cool. The main thing is the butterfly jungle with plants, stream etc. I had an orange butterfly land on me for a while which was really fun.

M A

Very small place that mostly caters to children. I came here alone as I was swayed by reviews and thought it would be more like a zoo and more catered to all people not just kids. The butterfly room is cool but is definitely crowded with lots of running, yelling kids even at 2pm on a Monday. I was so afraid they would step on a butterfly. I got some weird stares from staff here whom I sensed were wondering where my child was and made me feel a bit uncomfortable. I left pretty quickly after seeing the butterflies (not really much else to see!).

pelican brief

Absolutely one of my favorite places! I'm not a fan of insects, yet I love the Butterfly Pavilion. Excellent way to introduce children to the magical world we live in. So much beauty and information packed into this place. A must see for everyone.

Jessie Bailey

I like coming here on $5 days. On regular entry fee days it's just not quite worth it to me. That being said, the exhibits are cute; our favorites are the bees and the touch tank. The butterflies are quite enjoyable to me, but my four-year old loses interest pretty quick. The large playroom inside is buckets of fun. They have story time, sensory play and a slide, which is great.

Rachelle Cummings

We went on the last day they offered the $5 admission so it was a little packed, but we still had a lot of fun! It was my families first time going, and it was beautiful! My son, husband and myself held Rosie the tarantula. It was pretty terrifying but a cool experience. Will definitely be going again next time we visit Colorado

T.R. Whelan

Really cool place in Fairly economical for a family. I recommend touching the tarantula!

Christina Parks

I love this place! The people are very enthusiastic about what they do and i love the tropical oasis of the pavillion in the front range dryness!

Heather Long

The volunteers and staff were very informative and knowledgeable about the exhibits, friendly and helpful. The establishment was well kept, and so pretty. We loved the Butterfly Garden!

Dina Jordan

Definitely not as big as we thought it would be. But it was still worth the $10 fee and to see the smile and excitement on our daughters face. You walk in and see maybe 8 small tanks with insects and the next room has maybe 6 small tanks of salt water creatures. Highlight is the Greenhouse of the butterflies. Not very big, but definitely saw a variety of butterflies.

Deb Clif

This place was so cool. Stopped by for about an hour and a half, which was just about right for my 7 and 10 year old. They had an area for kids to dig in the soil/dirt to find critters. Try to go when they release the new butterflies, it was amazing! If my kids were a few years younger we could have spent ours there, but we still loved the place.

Risa Crisp

Great place! Kids love it! Be sure to hold Rosie!

KT Snail Lady

So much more than butterflies! They have a really awesome cephalopod; she's only 9 months old. And if you really want a treat.... they have a butterfly release. Around 3:30pm is when I experienced this beautiful circle of life & death.

logan brown

A perfect place to take kids for a fun family outing. The insect exhibits are both fun and educational. They have an awe inspiring butterfly enclosure as well as many other exciting bugs. This place will be sure to give you an experience to remember!

Brittany Kelley

This place is filled with a bunch of cool bugs, some area creatures and beautiful butterflies. Know for there famous Rosie tarantula that kids and adults get a chance to hold if desired. The butterfly atrium is a fun area where butterflies and moths fly all around and if you're lucky and wearing something bright one might land on you. There is even a small area for children to run around in and an area where they will sometimes have story time. This is a great place to spend an hour or two at. It has received criticism for being so small but they are in the works of building a larger place at a different location.

Kimberly Borgman

This place is truly magical. I LOVE butterflies and actually do my own butterfly art. If I worked or lived closer I'd come here all the time. What an amazing place. I just wish they sold their dead butterflies to locals to make art.

Dusti Jakober

Such a great place to spend some time. My toddlers just love it and there is so much to do for all ages! We will definitely be returning for some more fun in the future!!

sydney Lanham

SOOO CUTE. My kids loved it. 4 year old daughter held a tarantula and we loved all of the beautiful butterflies. This is a must see

Taylen O'Leske

Most of the staff was kind and intelligent. It's a great place to take kids to teach them about butterfly's, and the spider is awesome as well. It's a shame more places don't let you play with large arachnids. They are such awesome creatures. My only complaint is, there doesn't seem to be a system in place to actually handle the guests who have decided to take it upon themselves to ruin random butterfly's lives for pictures or a laugh or sometimes just for sick cruel kicks. It's really really sickening to watch people harm such beautiful creatures so heartlessly. And there doesn't seem to be anything the sometimes clearly frustrated staff could really do about these grown ass adults being worse than I can explain acting a fool. It makes me sick honestly the amount of disrespect the staff puts up with every day. You guests that don't follow rules and don't respect other life seriously make me wish the staff could sue. If you want to PLAY with butterflies this IS NOT THE PLACE. If you're ready to explain to your kids that touching butterflies hurts them. And that you need to be sensitive and careful and considerate this is a wonderful place to show them the beauty of some of Earth's smallest and most beautiful creatures.

Jimmy Young A Maldonado

Amazing place, great collection of insects and sea animals. Very educational. The butterflies are just beautiful. Great parking, very nice staff, clean bathrooms, and nice store with artcrafts and learning toys. Please visit and enjoy from the many beautiful insects.

Uri nun

A bit overpriced for the amount of content to view here, in my opinion. There's a small ocean like exhibit add will as standard but exhibit. Very large and humid butterfly walk in exhibit. Definitely caters toward the very young but easily runs out of allure for older or those who have been to similar attractions.

A A

A wonderful, educational experience for every age! Everytime we visit we see something new and learn something new! We really enjoy seeing the wonderfully laid out natural exhibits, all of the beautiful butterfly species, the hands-on exhibits and storytime and low sensory time! Thank you for a great educational experience everytime!!!

HART DAVID

If you want to catch things you won't see anywhere else but the botanic gardens in Denver, this is the spot to come. Some might say it's magical. I would if I believed in magic. I do believe it's a great place to catch a little bit of creation, wonderment, and a w e. Hope you get there soon. Hope I can go back soon or the botanic gardens...

Sheldon Bott

Great place! Beautiful all the way through. Plenty to see, lots of educational experiences presented in many different learning styles. The price is great, but the building is small, so if you're there just to look it may be a bit short of an experience. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Can be hard to find parking on busier days. Plenty of nearby food options. Highly recommend for young and old alike.

Shannon Mitchell

On behalf of Jeffco’s 21st Century Virtual Academy Student Government - The Butterfly Pavilion worked to great lengths to meet our school’s needs. They did a great job with providing a beautiful venue and ensuring we had a great night. We couldn’t have had our high school dance without you!

Brittany

Lovely! Absolutely stunning! The butterflies aren't super active here but you get a great look at them !

Art Vandalay

A magical place! Honestly I wish it was like 10 times the size

Julia Timmer

I want to give this place a higher rating, but for the price of entry it's a little disappointing. It took us about 20-30 minutes to experience the butterflies and other small exhibits then the exit put us right in front of a huge gift shop. My 3yr-old wanted to spend more time in there and it almost has more to see.

Eldon Fisher

Great for kids and adults alike. It's like a small museum/zoo with some interactive exhibits. The butterfly room is humid but seeing hundreds of large or colorful butterflies is definitely worth the trip and the cost.

Lynsey McLean

Butterfly Pavilion was a perfect choice for my six month old. He loved looking at all the different insects, and the all-day tickets allowed us to head home for nap time and come back to explore some more. We will definitely be returning.

Michael Richmond

fun and simple and entertaining - loved it

Happy Dogs CBD

Absolutely fantastic. Wonderful knowledgeable staff. Took family visiting from Holland. They just loved the butterflies.

shelja sharma

Beautiful butterflies .

Allen Meadors

Took my daughter here to see what the place was about. She had a great time looking at all of the different displays. I wish the butterfly housing was a bit larger but all in all we still had a good time. Will.most likely make a return trip when she gets older.

That Guy

Amazing experience for you and your family. I would highly recommend that if your kids are 5 years or older this is the place to go to. Children under 5 can't enjoy the full scope of the place. I sincerely wish they had a bigger location with more options and exhibits to admire or look at. Some of the exhibits have a cheap feel to them and honestly there online prices are very different then the front door prices. I got charges almost a full adult price for a 2 year old and they do not offer a military discount except at the gift shop that's labeled as an exhibit. The entire place is directed in a way to guide you to spend more money. When I was a kid it use to cost my mom $20 bucks to get us in and eat now it's sky rocketed prices are not worth the minor exhibits that end way to quickly. I think the open pavilion where the butterflies roam freely should be bigger and should be guided by employees to explain the exhibit the creatures and the animals themselves. Hopefully when they move even further from Denver they will find what there obviously looking for, more money. It's a cash dump that's not worth the 45mins of seeing next to nothing. Very chaotic and disorganized. I am deeply saddened that when I went to a place sacred to my childhood memories to share with my daughter after the horrors of war I was Nickle and dimed to death. Good luck pavilion in your cheap ways to drag every dollar out of every person.

Scott Hanham

Unbelievable! A must visit!

Dawn Fenderson

Great place for little ones. My 3 year old had a great time and would enjoy it again, I'm sure. My 9 and 12 year old niece and nephew told me they've outgrown it, though.

Kraig Rivera

Haven't been here since I was a kid but coming back was amazing. It was very beautiful seeing all the different kinds of butterflies but also interesting seeing all the different insects and arachnids.

BillTroFine

My wife got attacked in the petting tank. In the butterfly room there were a lot of dead butterfly’s and I didn’t see many listed butterfly’s. But everything else was enjoyable for my 6 year old son.

This is such an amazing place! The butterflies are so fun to see. It's a great place for school/homeschool field trips.

Ceelee loveleigh

Such a lovely place to take the kids or any senior members in your family it's like stepping into a magical world filled with butterflies and flowers

Rachel Meints

My kids love this place. An excellent variety of butterflies and moths, plus hands on bug and ocean creature touching for the kiddos. Some recent redesigns have made the flow of the place much better. Don't forget to hold Rosie the tarantula on your visit. Keep a lookout for Bugs and Beer or Wings and Wine, the after hours cocktail parties.

What a wonderful experience, If I lived closer I would have a membership and visit on a weekly basis. Even with everyone in there, it was a great experience and a wonderful variety of butterflies to observe. It isn't a place that you would want to spend all day at, but a few hours in the morning was a great trip. One downfall is asking some of the volunteers questions, they didn't know a few things, such as why are the butterflies tagged? Since many are, this should be a question that they should be aware of the answer. I will be back!

My girlfriend and I came here for our three year anniversary and I must say it brings back memories from when I went there on field trips in school. It's very very family friendly, not complaint but almost too family friendly. The place was scrambled with kids running around and screaming but that's the type of fun place it is there. Highly recommended for families or really anyone looking for a fun experience.

Jason Bisping

A must see attraction. It is rare to see so many butterflies in one place. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. My family loves visiting here.

James Pavlick

I had a blast here. I can totally see why school field trips to here are a must. It's insanely educational and fun! It's impossible to not learn anything. Impossible. I dare you not to learn anything. Their gift shop is legit but their snack prices are equally insane. Who would pay $2.50 for a pack of M&Ms? Their honey is pretty tasty though. That's worth the cost.

Great touristic place! Recommend!!

Our trip to the Butterfly Pavilion was on their $5 entry day. Our visit was an impromptu trip, but was well worth it. My 2yr old was free and it was only $10.30 for my 5 year old and myself. They have lots of bugs and spiders to see and its setup is friendly to little ones as well as bigger kids. You can hold a tarantula (Rosie) if you'd like (assisted of course). The under sea section was nice, lots of nice fish and sea life to see and touch. Then there is the walkthrough rain forest with all the butterflies, which was very nice. They also have a very large kids playground area inside at the end next to the gift shop. It was really busy in the morning and thinned out around lunch. I would recommend this place for a visit. Parking is extremely limited so keep that in mind. You may have to park just north of Butterfly Pavilion in the shops located at the mall. Lastly I found it to be quite warm / hot throughout the entire visit, so dress accordingly.

We only came for the rainforest yoga, which we had to book 2 weeks in advance. Totally worth it! Now, I've never done yoga before,so I kind of wish they would teach the moves instead of just tell you which poses to do, but the instructor did her best to help everyone. The butterflies were amazing. They were very friendly and trusting. The whole vibe was relaxed. They were doing a bit of construction inside, and yet it was still pretty neat, with all of their little exhibits. This would be a great place for kids, or just a day out!

Lauren England

Great experience for kids. My 1 year old loved running up and down the steps to the exhibits, learning about the different creatures and pointing out all of the flowers and chasing the butterflies through the pavilion! The visitors center and gift shop are also a very nice experience.

Aurora Borealis

This is a fun place to go to if you're looking for something to do on the weekends or in the Summer. The staff were really friendly and there were many critters to check out! Admission wasn't terrible for 4 people, and everyone in our group really enjoyed it. If you love butterflies or if you're just looking for something to do, this place is great!

T Smith

Very cool place

Dennis Elliott

Great place kids get excited with the butterflies

Ashleigh Wilson

Always such a fun experience to be had. You never know where a butterfly is going to land. Of course, there's always those parents who pay NO attention to their rude children... But it's always a good time being here! Staff is awesome and very knowledgeable!

Blayne McMillan

Delightful experience and worth the $12. Wear a bright shirt if you’d like them to land on you, and if you’re there when it goes from cloudy to sunny, all the butterflies seem to get active all at once!

Jared Bichler

The butterfly pavilion is a friendly place to learn about insects. The atmosphere was amiable if you can stand crowded places. One of my favorite things about this place is that the bees are free to come and go as they please the other is the dove in the pavilion with the butterflies (don't worry he only eats seeds). Overall just a wonderful place for quiet thought, you do have to look where you step though.

No Name

Cool place to visit, a lot of various bugs / butterflies / sea creatures to learn about. Would've given 5 stars, but the penny press was broken and told 2 departments about it, and literally no one cared. Another issue was it was packed with school children. That is great, but they need to put something on their site if they're having a school event. To let everyone know. Couldn't walk more than 5 feet in the place without kids running in front of you or screaming at something. While I'm all for field trips for education, it was overbearing the day we went. Besides that, worth a visit.

This is a must see! Whenever I visit Denver I make this a stop. Rosie the tarantula is available to hold at certain time. Don't worry, they have several "Rosie". The open area where the butterflies are free is absolutely amazing. If you are lucky some may land on you! The different species are stunning. They also have a window where you can see the butterflies hatch from their cocoon. The live exotic plants they have are beautiful also. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. I give this place a 10/10.

Nicole Arney

Fun place to go to when I was a child. I took my son there for his first time. It was fun. They didn't have as many live exhibits as they used to but I honestly just think they need to restock since insects do pass away. The bee hive is gone. I should of asked what happened to it. Last time I saw it it was so huge it was like 3 feet wide outside the building even! I'm guessing they relocated it. Butterflies are still there. I didn't see the turtles though.

Jimmy Newmoon

The multitude of insect and small fish exhibits beyond the butterflies were unexpected and pleasant. The live butterfly exhibit exceeded my already high expectations. Lots of fun and appropriate for our 1.5 and 3 year old, though there is plenty for much older kids. Fascinating insect exhibits. It was also fun to have the tarantula climb on my hands.

Lauren Spare

This was a really fun place to go. I went with my boss and a coworker when we were looking to kill some time during a conference. I enjoyed petting the different starfish and the horseshoe crab. It's way more than just butterflies! There's knowledgeable staff placed in the exhibits to answer your questions and tell you fun facts. I enjoy that kind of thing, but if you don't, it's easy to pass them by without being bothered. There are quite a few different butterflies in the butterfly part. They are flying and playing and eating and it really feels quite wonderful. However, this is not the first butterfly exhibit that I've been to and I was a little disappointed to find out that you can't feed them (the other I have been to has vials of nectar you can hold in your hand) and they don't land on you (probably because you're not going to feed them). You will still see SO MANY butterflies, so don't let that disappoint you. If I had my kids with me, I'm fairly certain they would have liked the small play place near the end of the tour. It's right next to the gift shop and convenient if you want to send your husband to watch the kids so you can shop without fear of tiny hands breaking stuff. Moral of the story: I would go again. I enjoyed it as a grown woman, so I feel confident in recommending it to others.

Mia Roldan

I love this place!! The staff was so nice and helpful and the butterfly exhibit was so cool! My boyfriend and I walked around a million times just looking at the butterflies. The staff here does a great job keeping up with the facility. They even have a student discount which is helpful. The only thing is when it is busy, the place is not very big so at times it felt very crowded.

Destiny

I love that the Butterfly Pavilion offers yoga in the butterfly room. It is relaxing to be surrounded by butterflies and streaching your body! I also liked that since it was humid in the room that it helped me stretch a bit more than I would have been able to. I would highly suggest this expereince to anyone who is either interested in yoga or those who want a novelty expereince.

Metering Joe

Great for kids! They have everything on exhibit from from octopus, tropical fish, a honeybee and bumblebee colony you can see through a glass give, horseshoe crab and sea stars you get to touch, Tarantula (Rosie) you can hold in your hand, and of course tons of butterflies. They do release events of new butterflies twice a day, every day. Reasonably priced.

Casey Meraz

This is a great place to take kids. They have a rather large butterfly room where there are hundreds of butterfly’s flying around. The other nature exhibits were good too. It’s a great way to have a fun educational experience for an hour or two.

Brooke Baughn

Very cute. Butterflies everywhere and easy to take photos. The extra exhibits make it worth the price. Would reccomend especially for kids. I took my 3 year old and he loved it.

Dragoth1337

This place is relatively small in size but has a fair amount of things to do and see. It is very kid friendly of you kid likes bugs and or butterflies. There are some smaller exhibits with beetles and spiders. There is Rosie the tarantula you can hold. There are some smaller aquariums to see. The butterfly area is fairly big and open. There are a ton of different ones that openly fly around. There is a education area in the back. There is a pretty good sized nature trail that really depends on the time of year to see what is blooming or growing. The staff is pretty interactive and informative. There is a big push here for conservation and education.

Matthew Talich

Very environmentally aware organization.

Israel Rangel

Definitely a fun time for family, kids, or for those who want to see some beauty in nature. Seeing butterflies being released into their new home and watching many of them fly around you in an open space is really cool and an experience not easily forgotten. I recommend going here.

Callie Oister

What a beautiful peaceful loving family friendly place. The membership pays itself off in 2 visits just for 2 people adult and child. It is educational, a mental break with all the zen butterflies and the garden outback is beautiful. There is a day pass to go and come back and perks for being a member. Highly recommend. I hope they stay in Westminster!!!

Nicole Brown

This is a gorgeous place to go. It was recommended to me by some of my coworkers, and I'm so glad I had a chance to go while I was in Colorado. Its a great education center for several different types of insects, bees, spiders and of course butterflies. It's pretty cool to walk around the butterfly area. If you're pretty still one of the butterflies may land on you. Great place to go with kids.

Jeska Possum

One of my favorite spots near Denver! Very educational exhibits and can make it an all day trip or a quick stop. Great for family trips or romantic dates! Always fun and informative!

Anika Morrison

I love taking my son here and it’s great the tickets last the whole day so we can go in the morning, and then again in the afternoon after his nap. The new play area is fun and exciting to explore.

Michael DeGradi

We were here for Rosie's birthday last month and loved it! My son is 1 1/2 years and they had plenty to keep him busy. He loved watching the bees, butterflies and playing in Tikes Peak playground

Mrs V

Stunning amazing and beautiful experience. So much to see, learn and experience. My son was brave enough to hold rosie. We got lots of great pictures and memories from this place. We're totally going back!

Nadia Canedo

This place is beautiful and full of butterflies. I love how they let you feel the tarantula and feel the starfish. I wish it could be a longer experience but not to bad for $12 per person.

Brian Jackson

Cheap admission (cheaper if you go on the right day or look for a deal) and beautiful attractions. If you have to be told what is great about sitting in a warm tropical room full of butterflies on a cold winter day (but also good any day), then I don't know what to say. Please watch your kids though! These are delicate creatures that don't do well with unattended toddlers (and older kids that should know much better)

Kattitude_

I love this place! If you go early to avoid the crowds, you may miss out on the butterfly release. Still amazing to see the variations in colour, shape and size of the butterflies. Please remember to NOT touch them. They have such short lives already. Staff was pretty awesome and available for any questions.

haeselschen

Super friendly and informative staff and a nice place to spend an hour or two.

Jesse Silver

This is a wonderful place to bring your family or relatives coming from out of town. The butterfly environment is only one section and is quite amazing. We especially like the aquatic sea life including the octopus and deep-sea isopods. They do daily / hourly book reading and performances which is also quite entertaining. They have a play area for toddlers and older children which is great to get some additional energy out. Gift shop is quite stocked and it feels good to support a great organization. Staff are super friendly and helpful as always.

stela ejova

The kids loved it. A very cool experience. And if you feel like holding a tarantula, this is the place you can meet Rosie

Anonymus Rater

Staff are very passionate and the butterflies are utterly beautiful!

Nicki Youngsma

Great invertebrate museum, especially for kids. There are butterflies, insects, spiders, and sea creatures. It's a great place to go for an indoor day trip.

Travis Phillips

Such an amazing experience for our 2 year old, he had such a blast. Smaller than I expected could do the whole trip through in a couple hours depending on how long you stay in the butterfly habitat. Better for younger kids, I could see older children losing interest pretty fast.

Avery Chow

There's a lot of cool stuff here, they have everything from underwater animals to insects and a lot of butterflies. It was a lot of fun going here, and experiencing some of the things they have to offer. It's definitely worth bringing kids here.

Snow Bird

Not much to see. Be nice if they would expand this to see more things.
