Very entertaining! Spent whole day with kids from 11am to 5pm and saw all exhibits. Awesome zoo.

Marco Niebles

Wonderfull place, the habitats of the animals are big, bigger than regular zoos and very well done. The habitats of the macacus rhesus (monkeys) was one of my favourites you can feel their social behaviour live. It was christmas when I visited it, so the lights at night was marvelous. You got to get there very early in the morning if you want to visit all animals habitats the place is huge.

Went on middle on October..it was a while I have not gone there. But this time great, great time. There is a free parking a little far from entrance but ok. And you can pay I think $10 to be in front. I got a tickets in an app, So was affordable for 5 of us. This time there were shows schedule around the zoo. So I recomend to be early at 10am so you can be able to watch them..I just saw the birds show.and alligator. Beautiful. great experience this time..I think now is worth to go there. So I think you can spend at least 4hrs or more. Great for kids ..

it would have been nice if the park would trim/maintain the plants below the pedestrian railing. It's bad enough everyone crowds the few animals that are actually visible while trying to get a better vantage point that are visibly obstructed by overgrown/un-maintained plants by the railing. .. obviously this park does not pay attention to the small details that could have improved this overcrowded park.

Joey Medina

Had the best time at the LA Zoo! And on top of it, Honda gave us a parking spot up front and a free hippo experience!

Nick Valencia

Great Park & Ride spot for the Bowl. The Transit Systems driver maneuverd the bus through Hollywood mayhem like a pro!!!

Nathalie Labrana Espinoza

Great time for family. It is best to go in a week day

Marisa Thomas

I love all of the animals! At night there are great light shows and music! Very energetic! Nice place to visit on warm summer nights!

BIGGIE CHESSE

Pretty awesome place, great opportunities to get pics and turn them into memes.

Barbara Pangalos

Sooo much funnn!! Didn't realise how big this place was!! Had a great time, a bit hot but they have a lot of food carts where you can get ice creams and frozen drinks. They have a spot where water sprays out at the top, so cool!! Had an amazing time. All the animals were out, I managed to get some amazing photos

Katherine Cominolo

It's been a bit since I've been to the L.A Zoo, exhibits and habitat's have been upgraded beautifully. Fun way to spend a few hours.

Christine Murphy

Whoever designed the layout did a miraculous job. The animals look to be well taken care of and the staff was extremely friendly.

Julissa Williams-Mejia

Loved seeing all the animals. You can learn so much it's amazing. Loved being there with friends and learning with them! There are some animals that you may never see but if you go to the zoo you can see them. Just one thing I wish is that if they are going to be closed in a space it should be more "homey". So it's like they are living in their habitat. The zoo does a pretty good job of doing that but maybe a little more should be put into that.

Bryan Cook

Highly recommended. Children should be taken there to see how animals truly live and behave instead of their experiences on social media and video games. we highly recommend taking the tram at the beginning to get the full zoo experience and then return to the areas of your highest interest.

My job has a contract with the LA zoo so I visited it for the first time and really liked it. It is not as big as the SanDiego zoo but they do have plenty of animals and walking around is a breeze. I highly recommend especially for young children.

Adelina Tellez

I love the zoo. It's my most favorite place. I won't go to zoos that are bad for the animals so it limits where I can go but for ever year I go to the SD zoo for my birthday, this year I couldn't make it so my husband took me to the LA Zoo and I wasn't disappointed. I could actually write a small book about how amazing this zoo was. It was the perfect way to celebrate life and trying to improve things. I hope that if you get a chance you go to the zoo and learn some of the amazing things I did. Even in 80 degree weather this trip was worth it. Thank you

Tarri Levine

California Condor "Hope" was worth the $23 zoo admission (World of Birds Show- free). One of the rarest birds in the world. Hope is not at every show but she was the day I was there. Very special experience.

Amy M

Please hire better security that actually care about the safety of the keepers and animals, as well as the guests and keeping them out of enclosures.

Elijah Johnson

Awesome place! Would recommend not talking to the hobo joes. They would ask to take pictures

Bethany Judd

This was a great zoo! There were a ton of informative exhibits, and the animals appear to be well cared for. Cafes and snack shops are sprinkled throughout the zoo, so you're close to sustenance no matter where you are--a big plus when you have small kiddos. There are lots of water fountains too. We went on a really hot day, and it was nice to have easy access to refill our water bottles throughout the day. Another plus: plenty of shady places! We went through the zoo clockwise from the entrance so my kids (they're 3 and under) fell asleep before we got to it, but there's quite a large playground area that I know my kids would have loved. In fact, there were quite a few children (young and older) who were enjoying the play area when we passed by. Would definitely go back!

Best Zoo i have been too so far. Parking is free, major plus, staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Lots of amazing animals. Overall Great Family Experience!

Nice to go on a weekday. Nice and smooth comefor the little ones. it's not so crazy like it is on the weekend. We loved it here.

Jazmin

It was such a great experience! There were a lot animals to see at this place and the food stores there had amazing food. My favorite place is the aviary. Not a lot of people go there so it's really peaceful and it's just wonderful to sit on a bench and hear the birds surrounding you. It really has a great atmosphere. The zoo is also really big and pretty easy to get lost so I recommend having a map with you.

Iron Man

Zoo is amazing! Perfect place for the kids as they should be able to understand how beautiful nature is! Here, outside food is allowed so take all food you need. You can buy cute stuffed animals as well for your little one.

Jay Dimacali

Nice Zoo to visit with the family. A little worn down in my opinion but a good zoo to visit.

Ara Aghajani

The LA Zoo is always fun. Our year pass for the family along with free parking make this a regular occurrence for us... Especially now that our son is old enough to walk and enjoy the animals.

Jay Perez

Had a great time! This zoo allows outside food so we brought water, sodas and pizza for lunch. We were able to see all the animals we were looking forward to seeing~ surprisingly every animal was out so we were able to enjoy the entire zoo exhibits. We purchased souvenir cups which are refillable for a dollar. We also purchased stuffed animals and a sweater which were reasonably priced. Overall just a great place to visit and spend the day.

Best place ever food and drinks a relaxing and fun trip to take

Cyle Chapman

I always love the zoo. The only complaint I have is that we had to walk up hill... it was hot and I have a bad leg. Other than that it was a cool place to take pictures of animals

rocco damiano

I made a point of going second half of the day, got there around 2 to 30. Pay the $10 for the valet parking it's worth it. Kids loved it, the tram is a bargain especially if your senior citizen the kids are young. Goes all the way around the zoo in a loop and as five different stop so you can get on and off at any place in the zoo all day long. It was great. The baby giraffe is very cool. Not sure about the food, the hamburgers have been sitting under the infrared on the Buns were stale, ice cream and pizzas probably the best bet.

Luwanna Harris

Seen the LA Zoo and loved the visit. A pretty big zoo and I found it affordable with a few places to eat throughout the zoo. Also was able to bring a few snacks for the visit and enjoyed my day.

Christina Duran

I LOVE THIS PLACE AS A CHILD I USE TO GO HERE WITH MY FAVORITE PERSON ..AND I WAS HAPPY TO GO ONCE MORE WITH MY GRANDDAUGHTER

Sharon Jensen

What a lovely, low key zoo! Well layed out, employees are all very friendly. A must

Luis Sevilla

They could use more animals. They shut the nocturnal animals section down (one of my favorites)

Sam

There are bees all over the trashcans and soda machines. It's good that they aren't being disturbed with poison and chemicals but at the same time very hard to enjoy the zoo.

Trinity Richason

What a great day. Amazing enclosures, beautiful collection, and helpful staff. The murals are probably their most powerful conservation statements. Thank you LA Zoo from the Phoenix Zoo!

Andy Si ri

Nice big clean place to bring kids or significant. Food price is reasonable and taste good.

Jeff Morgan

New to the area and decided to check out the Zoo with kids. I was impressed with everything from the entry fee to animal showcase. It was also nice we were able to bring in a couple snacks and drinks.

Our family lives the zoo. We are zoo members so we do come frequently. There is always something to do and see. My kids ranging in age from 2-11 always have a blast. We always end our route at the playground, which has water sprayers to enjoy on super hot days.

Whitney Sturgis

So many beautiful and inteeresting animals.. I love and hate Zoos. Love the learning and the life experience for the children, but hate to see anything in a cage. Its not right, and that animal has to mentally and physically pay the price for that... but like I said it is sure something special to show these living breathing animals in their somewhat natural type habitats to your children and see them so excited to learn about them. Very large venomous snake collection. Giraffes are FANTASTIC and the Flamingos smell really bad. Beware.

Mike Silva

Went to the Roaring Nights event and I was really surprised how fun it was, saw many of the animals and the good music and food/drinks made it awesome!

Sơn Cao

Great experience for my kids. We came around 10am on the morning and I have to say we did not have enough time to see every animal. We missed the giraffe and black bear. Will come back to see them again

Ryan DeArmond

Beautiful Zoo. Very large, be prepared to walk about 5 Miles. Wish they had more concessions. Side note... They have Rhino souvenirs, but no Rhinos to see at the zoo...

Bobbi Waterdown

We love spending time at this zoo. The animals are given plenty of space and are often very active. The merchandise is very overpriced, but the food is great, especially the pizza and beer. We love all the snack stands and animal meet and greets. We even had one of our child's birthday parties here and it was amazing!

Sara Hoover

We had a great time at the zoo during my recent friend trip to LA. Most animals were out & active, which was wonderful to see. All of the enclosures seemed adequate for each animal (I always notice this because I get upset when animals are put in pens much too small for them). A few animals were even super friendly and would come up straight to the glass to say hi. I’m so glad we went and would definitely go back if in the area again.

Bryan Rodriguez

Never too crowded and always captures the imaginations of little ones. All great hard working staff

Locomotives 5150

Our family loved this zoo SO MUCH. We came on a 100° day and there were water locations throughout the park, and even a few misters here and there. The staff was friendly, and one nice worker made sure that we absolutely found the elephant exhibit we had asked her about. Thanks, LA Zoo!!

Karina Carmona

Love the Angeles Zoo!! I have been so many times and always it's a pleasure to walk around and see the animals and have a great time. Love all the plants. Nature at its best.

Debra Gentry

The LA Zoo was amazing only downfall was each bathroom I went into was out of toilet paper... but other than that very clean Place great food, good souvenir shops. Awesome animals! Great walk!

Bonnie Glitsch

I had so much fun coming here! We came here to celebrate our anniversary. It was so hot!! I do wish that the Zoo had more shaded areas and maybe a nice mister for hot days. But I loved watching the cute sea lions! It was amazing to feed the Giraffes! But my favorite part by far was the getting to mingle with the flamingos!! You pay $25 per person and you go in and sit down with them. There are zoo attendants in with you and talk to you and answer all your questions. We feed them krill that is inside of a long cup. You get to be interacting with these beautiful flamingos for 25 minutes!! Their necks are incredibly soft. The attendants were very knowledgeable and told us that these flamingos were named after the Harry Potter characters. The zoo was a lot of fun. I definitely want to come back.

Linda Peterson

Always a good experience come rain or shine. Wonderful to see endangered species they're endeavoring to save.

jenny c

Pretty enjoyable for a couple of hours. Some animals are great to see. And, some just seem so very sad. Otherwise, still a great place to go with kids. Boo at the Zoo dedinitely made it better too.

Martha Garcia

I loved this zoo!!! Definitely coming back but will be bringing my kids this time! Haha. We totally got lost inside but it was fun times lol.

jesus tovar

It's a zoo, not much else to say... Take comfy shoes because there's lots of walking . Long story short is that the place is nice, it has lots of interesting animals.. and a nice alternative to just staying at home. You can take food, so make sure you take some water for sure... But if not the food inside is good. My son loves coming here and feeding the giraffes. Can't see how you can have a bad time here... Now if you don't like caged animals than don't come but In the end you make this park to what you want it to be.. if you are there to have fun and learn you will... If your set out to have a bad day... You probably will too. Quick tips Animals start going in around 4, so plan your day... This is definitely not the park you want to show up late. Make a list of what animals you want to see first , because you might have to come back later on when they are more active instead of hiding.

Elena Moreno

It was a perfect day we went on a Sunday and it wasn't to crowded. What I like the most is you are able to bring your lunch and water inside the park!

Karina Cosio

It was a beautiful day and we got to see most of the animals. Loved the water mists set up around the park to cool off. Fun activities and awesome crafts for kids to do.

Taja Miller

I've been twice and had fun both times. It does take longer to walk than it seems like it would so best to get there as early possible. Parking and good options are kinda lame though.

Dana Hawkins

The Los Angeles Zoo was a fun experience for our family! We enjoyed the various exhibits very much. I noticed that the zoo's designer must have had the public's best interest in mind when considering the layout of the zoo. They have placed so many of the benches for resting in the shade. That is just a nice touch! The exhibits were clean as was the walking paths.

Y R

This a great place to take your children and spend a decent time with family. We hadn’t seen the park in over 10 years and we all loved the new look! We really enjoyed the entire park. The year membership is worth it! Accessible bathrooms everywhere, signs to orientate you if you happen to get lost. Great place! The only down side was that certain crowds of people were not suitable for children to see.

Sherry Smith

This is a clean zoo! Lots of attractions, reasonable priced food and drinks. I wish the ticket prices would lower at a certain time but other than that its great!

Jessica Gonsales

Went today with a group of 9. We had a wonderful time. It was 96 degrees out, but we avoided the afternoon heat by arriving early. We enjoyed a breezy morning stroll. Get your workout in!

D0rkTheF0rk

The zoo is amazing. You have so many animals to look at. The sad part is, many of the animals are not happy because they are encaged and prefer to be in the wild

Jamie McLane

Neat zoo but really confusing signs, easy to get lost. They did have alot of animals but since its so hot out they are hiding. I have to see if you even got to Birmingham Al you have to visit theirs. More animals to see. This did have an amazing bird area very shady and just amazing to see. Parking is free and this is worth the money, we went as a couple.

Desiree Fae

I have to say that I was a little skeptical going here for the first time. I have never been to a zoo and I just went to the Los Angeles Zoo for the first time at 40 years old. Not only did the animals put on a show lol they seemed very happy very well taken care of and I went on a weekend I went on a Sunday the tween 11:30 and 1:30. I did not eat because the prices were way too expensive just for a bottle of water or a slice of pizza but seeing all of the cool animals and birds and reptiles was truly incredible and I have to say again the animals seemed very happy I didn't see any dirty animals I didn't see unhappy animals so thank u l a zoo for taking such good care of not only your establishment but the animals and I can't wait to come back again because I didn't get to see everything the first time. I would definitely definitely go here again.

Christy Shaum

We had a fun afternoon at the Los Angeles Zoo! It is a VERY large zoo so plan on spending most of your day there and be sure to bring a stroller if you have little ones. We went on Memorial Day so it was pretty busy. The best area (in our opinion) was the children’s petting zoo. Our toddler loved it! We only wish we could have seen more of the animals, many of them were hiding away in the shade because of the heat.

Mary Baker

I've been visiting the zoo since I was a kid and it's amazing all the changes it's been through. Many of the exhibits have been improved and the grounds are just gorgeous. As a member, I love visiting just to take a leisure stroll. Now with the various fundraisers and the Roaring Nights, the zoo is even more fun!

vanessa avina

Love it! The parking is free unless you want preferred parking which is nice. Its a good size but not too big so you can see the whole thing in about 3 to 4 hours. There is also a petting zoo so you can take your little one to pet and or brush goats :)

Robert ceballos

I have been a member for over 10 years all animals are well taken care of

Erika Bravo

Boo! at the Zoo was great! Kids enjoyed taking pictures, feeding the flamingos. Great place to interact with animals.

Lilian Guerrero

Super fun and the kids loved it. The monkey exhibit is the best especially the seating to watch them. That was the favorite for all.

Plimsoul

LA Zoo is pretty good...fairly reasonable price to get in, and all the animals you'd ever want to see. Food/drink/gift prices in the park are fairly high...like Disneyland, but you can bring in your own picnic lunch...they prefer you don't bring any cans or glass. Parking is free. Fairly reasonable fun for a day...but it's just a zoo...nothing too exciting.

Karen O'Halloran

My visit was during the Boo at The Zoo time and I really enjoyed that. Also loved the chimpanzees!

Holly

We went on Memorial Day so it was crazy busy, but it was an amazing experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. They also have lots of animals just waiting to be photographed! Plus they sell beer so basically its my happy place. Definitely recommend to anyone, especially great for families.

Angela Enriquez

Roaring Zoo Nights was a great experience! Great food trucks and awesome music from the bands and DJs!

Franklin Luk

The felines were mostly sleeping...sadly.. Surprisingly there were decent food options at not outrageous prices. Strongly subsidized (around $15 million annually) by the la city, so it's fairly cheap for admissions.

Agapito Turrubiartes

Nice place to see if you live in the la area one every 6 months or so. Takes about 6 hours to look at everything and 8 if you photograph patiently.

Yael Manela

We had a fun day at the zoo! The staff there was very eager to help and explain about the different animals! Just bee

michael apostol

Went on a Saturday and it was not very busy. The only complaint i have is that there are no canopies when waiting for refreshments. I went to 3 places to get a drink had to wait in the hot sun.

Chris Osborn

A lot of my friends were telling me the LA Zoo was lame, so I decided to check it out on a whim. I was very pleasantly surprised. It’s a nice mixture between botanic gardens and zoo. I would recommend visiting if you have a few hours to wander around, enjoy the animals and gardens. Despite being right outside of downtown LA, it truly feels as though you are in the middle of nowhere.

Doerte Sennecke-Chow

Our 4 year old enjoyed the Merry Go Round. It features a great variety of animals to ride on. The staff is friendly. The ticket is $3. Its not cheap but hey it benefits the zoo animals. Another favorite was the Cambodian Pavilion. Its a great place to rest and watch Asian elephants. We are members of the zoo thanks to our generous uncle.

Nick Gurney

Good zoo. Not sure, as far as zoo's go, it's pretty good.

Ashley Colins

Its a very old zoo and it shows. The Oakland and San Francisco Zoo are much cleaner and well maintained. The only thing thing I experienced was the food at one of the restaurants.

George Amirian

The Los Angeles zoo is a great place to spend the day with the kids. My wife and I visit the zoo with the kids frequently. We’ve have had a membership to the LA Zoo for the last couple years now. We tried to take the kids as often as we can. Kids love to visit, they always have a great time and learn something new about all the different animals. They love to feed the giraffes, visit the petting zoo and participate in all the other activities that the zoo has to offer. I encourage everyone to visit the LA Zoo specially if you have kids.

Silvia Márquez

A lor of animals. I think some of them need more space.

Alma Ruiz

I live the zoo been coming here since my father used to work here, such a fun place I feel some things can be a bit pricey honestly. Like the mingle with the flamingos was $25 and no one was in there so that was a bit overpriced but I love this place nonetheless.

Dan Urban

Had a really fun time here with the family today! The LA Zoo does not get as much fanfare as it's neighbor to the south, and in fairness, San Diego is a bigger, better zoo. However, LA is certainly competitive enough that I would rather go here and enjoy a day rather than driving twice as far to get down to San Diego. The exhibits were fantastic, the animals were out and lively, everything was clean, and the park staff were friendly. I recommend going early or buying tickets online, or you run the risk of waiting in a 40-min long line like we did. Speaking of tickets, LA Zoo is also cheaper than San Diego. I also recommend buying lunch in the park. It was expensive, but the food was fantastic. We ate at Reggie's Grill, for the record. It is nice and sunny in the park, so pack sunscreen and water. The parking lots are small, so don't bother paying for preferred; you won't have far to walk. Come ready for a good time, you won't be disappointed!

Ssch

We try to visit the zoo in every new city that we discover. The way that the LA Zoo is laid out, with the small paths in between the different areas, brought it straight to the top of our most favorite Zoos. We loved especially the bird show and the explanation about the otter.

Yulia

Poor animals, small aviaries, not enough space for them, dirty, bad smell, some animals doesn't have water to drink and some seems hungry. Many animals we couldn't even see, they are hidden somewhere and windows wasn't clean maybe 1 year, we couldn't see because of dirtiness

Priscilla V Lopez

Love it here never to crowded, close to fwy. Animals look happy. Very clean. Loved it so much I bought a Annual pass. Great place to go walk and get excercise too!

Stephvnie Rvmirez

It's a very clean zoo. The staff is friendly and are great at giving directions. Alot of the animals are sleeping and look sickly, but over all it's nice to see all the different animals. My favorite part was feeding the giraffes!

Sangjin Mun

Came here twice for a private event after 5pm. Foods were decent and short activities such as giraffe feeding, face painting were pleasant as well. My kids were scared though due to many bees though. lol

Claudia Amezquita

Great Zoo!!! Beautiful gardens & landscapes...great staff (helpful & courteous) restrooms were very clean Very happy day!

Charlene Williams

I love a place that is kid friendly that you can bring your whole family to and have a good time while making good memories. We took a lot of pictures of all the cool animals. Really enjoyed my day and the vast variety of animals on display. It is a great place to spend the day with your family. Plan on spending 2 to 3 hours and bring lots of water to stay hydrated. I wore slippers so my feet started to give out after an hour and a half. Make sure you wear good comfortable walking shoes.

Sandra Carreon

They have beautiful amazing animal's beautiful birds trained and a tram incade you get tired which is awesome

Michael Tarkington

I don't go to zoos very much but this one is very good. I seen most of every kind of animal up close and personal ( the lair is awesome). The food is good too. ( I had a very tasty turkey sandwich). Be prepared to do a lot of walking ( take the tram. Money well spent).

Andrew Girgorian

It is very well organized and clean. Animals are free in their sections which is clean as well. Zoo keepers are well trained and taking good care of animals and birds. There are food facilities for every test and prices. Few times a year they have special parties for members with plenty of food and drinks.

Ashley Burts

I love love love love the zoo. The animals were amazing and my favorite part was feeding the giraffes which is an absolute favorite animal of mine. The gift shop was amazing too and had a little something for everyone

Yugina Yun

Surprised that the zoo was much larger than anticipated! A good few hours of exploring and an easy to navigate layout. Was a little unfortunate to see that some exhibits looked awfully lonely and not very well taken care of but many animals seemed active despite the heat. Surprisingly no parking issues at noon on a weekend and tickets were reasonably priced.

Randolph Fong

This zoo while not as big and comprehensive as the San Diego Zoo is well done at half the cost. Kids will still have a good time as well as the rest of the family. It gets crowded but don't worry as the overflow parking lot is just across the street and parking is free. Membership is little more than two admissions but might be a good alternative if you live locally.

Aleera DoBlah

The zoo was great.. Beware of bees.. Two of my sister's got stung.. But the zoo was helpful and provided numbing sticks and first aid.. The place is very wheelchair friendly.. And there are lots of places to sit and have a picnic.

Suzanne Joines

Love going to zoos. Very big. Lots of animals. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Robin Franke

We had such an amazing time at the LA Zoo! They take such great care of their animals! The Angela Collier Bird show is a must see, and the trainer talks going on in the zoo at different times throughout the day are very interesting and a learning experience for young and old. Staff is friendly and will make you feel welcome and appreciated. Restaurant-wise there is differently themed restaurants throughout the park, so there's something for everyone. Great, great place. Keep it up, LA Zoo!

Alena Alena

The kids love this place. Especially peddling zoo. Goats and sheep's are nice and kind. They let you brush them. Every time when we go to the zoo it's a special event for the kids.

Flannell Jackson

Roaring night waa awesome. With the different dance floors food trucks you wont get bored. Seeing the elephant play and get feed was cool. They even had bars. Well it was from 6 to 10:30pm no kids were allowed. loved it

Ash Cuessy

Love the zoo!!! And some zookeepers here are so helpful and always give so much information going around and specifying about each animal! Such a memorable place!

Darrien Rickman

Really clean and a lot of cool stuff to see but a lot of the animals weren't there. I don't know if it was because of the time of year we went but it kind of sucked.

Trisha Galvan

Came here for Roaring Nights! So much fun! Loved LOVED the silent disco! I only wish it ended much later.

M M

Awesome zoo..just be prepared to walk uphill in a spiral direction so have comfortable shoes! We did it though it's a good workout!

Ignacio Gonzalez

My children have so much fun at the zoo. We usually attend boo at the zoo (Halloween), Easter or Christmas. The season pass is a good deal for the family. You can take food in or purchase it there. It's only open until 5 so you don't have to worry about losing a whole day. It's a fun way to get the whole family walking while having fun.

Amber Cerecedes

Love it here. During the week is the best, less people & a great chance to walk!

Christelle Naddaf

Love coming to the LA zoo! Great animals to see and learn about. Free parking. It is very worth it to get the family annual pass. It pays for itself in a couple of visits. There is even a great play area for the kids in the back!

Rosemary Garcia

La Zoo has been open for 50 years. Great place to visit. With its new layout and displays of the animals always get in early so you can see all the animals.

Paul Sanchez

Had a great time at Roaring Nights enjoyed good music and really nice people

Geenahvee Hernandez

Having the shuttle helped out so much. Some animals were put away. That's why I gave it a 4 star. Other than that, a fun place.

Arabian Princess

My Hubby and I took my 77 years young Mom and we all had a Fantastic time. They have electric wheelchairs to rent for $30. for the day, it worked out great . There's a lot of walking up and down hill and it was great for her with the scooter. Loved all the Animals, the Elephants were so Amazing to watch, we also got to see feeding time for some animals great experience. Try to get there early so you have enough time to see all the animals we went around 12ish and still missed an entire side of the zoo, but we also were taking our times and enjoying the animals. We went on a Gloomy day so it wasn't that Hot, it was Perfect. You can also take you own lunch there plenty of park benches inside to sit and enjoy yourselves. Also seen a kids play ground, and seen many having a good time. Will definitely be back to see the other side of the Zoo, missed the Lions

An ordinary Zoo. Exhibits and surroundings are not well maintained. Needs improvement on signage and markers. Trails were poorly marked. Staff is nice for the most part but you had to look hard to find anyone around if you had a question. Food was expensive but poorly prepared and overcooked. Don't mind paying higher prices but expect better tasting food.

Bladimir Abarca

Except how do they charge 5 dollars for a soda. And no refills to expensive but its worth it for all animal lovers thanks la zoo

Jaclyn Buzzetta

Such a busy place! Nice selection of animals to view. Wear comfortable shoes as you’ll be walking far, both up and downhill. Bathrooms are usually pretty gross, but stocked. The limited availability of seating is difficult. There’s a major lack of food stands and choices. Some of the sales/promo booths are usually empty. They have ONE mister to help keep patrons cool since it gets so hot there, it would behoove them to install more around the park. For such a large, spread out zoo, the maps are few and small. The employees are professional, but not very courteous or friendly. Parking is spread out. A few habitats that have been closed and are still in desperate need of renovations, but just sit empty with no notices or signs explaining what’s going on. There are plenty of improvements Los Angeles SHOULD consider for this place and many ways to enhance it that remain neglected.

Luis Retana Acevedo

World-class zoo, owned by the City of Los Angeles, on beautiful, large (54 ha) park grounds. Open daily from 10AM to 5PM. Admission price per adult: $22; senior: $19; child 2 to 12: $17.

Big Dave

Love the outdoors and my kids love seeing all the animals as well it's great to get out and see new things

Vanessa Marsot

I was shocked to learn that the elephants' areas have electrified vegetation so that it stays looking pretty but the elephants will get shocked if they do their usual elephant behaviors, such as rubbing against trees and foraging. They also have about 3 acres to roam for their entire lives whereas in the wild, elephants roam over 50 acres a day. Please don't support zoos that imprison animals.

Jade Buchberger-McKenna

Loved how big it was, wasn't super busy for the weekend, a few misters and shade spots, really liked the kids play area being shaded as well. I was pushing a stroller with two kids and please note the terrain was like the majority of LA, super hilly. Lots of animals, the zoo could invest in more "here to help associates" placed at intersections for navigation and assistance. Otherwise love that carry-in's are allowed. Good visit!

Carmen Hayes-Walker

Awesome visit! The staff is pleasent. The exhibits are informative. You can mingle with flamingos! Great fun

L.A. Zoo Lights attracts native Angelenos and visitors to experience an illuminated evening of more than a million and a half lights. It’s a wonderful holiday event for an evening with the family and kids under two are free. Having made its’ debut in 2014, the attraction has grown into a seasonal favorite.Glowing animals welcome you on your nighttime journey that includes a twinkling tunnel filled with dynamic swirls of color or you can visit the three reindeer or ride the carousel ($3) while drinking hot cocoa or enjoying meals and snacks from a variety of food carts.

Jason Carter

Fun trip with our 8 year old. Gave her the map of the zoo and she led us around for hours. Never got a good view of the elephants though they were always on the far side each time we checked.

Jack Levy

Ok zoo that need some serious refresh. I think that at the Safari it would be easier to spot and watch the animals. It has been OK, but for a zoo that name LA zoo I would expect more. Not sure I will return to it if things will remain the same way they are now.

Sheila Wilimzig

Zoo was great! However, their map and corresponding trail system was confusing. We would recommend a color coded route system. Quite a few mosquitoes!

cande foster

Great event of lecture and booksigning of WILDHOOD. The authors give insightful information and data into the journey of adolescents across species, showing them that they are not alone!

Robin Sellers

One of the best zoo’s we’ve been to. Lots of walking that’s for sure but never a dull sight. My family really enjoyed our trip here.

Steffg Garcia

My kids love coming here and they have a very affordable family year pass..

Edward Perez

I always enjoy coming year bring in the kids my favorite exhibit is the gorillas and also the chimpanzees they do put on the show every few hours and you are pretty close up they are hilarious when they act up and start goofing around my zoo sometimes the elephants are really out so you gonna miss them but there are a lot of other animals to see one thing I do think is a need to change the lion exhibit just to put together well

J N

Big zoo, pedestrian heavy. Nice entrance when you walk in, feels like an amusement park. They could use a few more animal exhibits overall, especially since some animals aren't always made public, e.g. the elephants. An annual pass for a family is like $160 or less, worth it if you're local and not busy in non-winter months.

Lindsey Lazo

A lovely place to visit - I was very happy to see that many of the placards included information about the species location, behaviors, and level of endangerment. Some areas even included conservation efforts and how they're connected to worldwide organizations that are aimed at increasing species numbers. The keepers are caring and informative!

Kaycea Campbell

Better than expected. Well kept. Bring snacks and water and save some money. Great summer fun for the kids and good value for $.

Erica Alaniz

Wonderful place for the family. Awesome benefit.. free parking!!! Everything was will keep and all of the animals were very well kept

Heather S.

Lived here for 17 1/2 years and never been to the zoo. A friend from Australia is in town and decides they want to go. Had a blast. Was very serene and relaxing on a Thursday afternoon as we arrived just as school kids were getting back on their busses to leave. Great variety of animals to learn about. Hand feeding the giraffes was AMAZING! Well worth the $5. Only suggestion would be more signage. It was a little confusing directionally even with the map sometimes and some sides of the animal enclosures didn't have signage, so we weren't sure what we were seeing exactly. Other than that it was a great time and would totally go again.

Josh B

I've been coming here, since I was a kid, and the zoo is just great. GLAZA does very good work, and the staff at the park are nice. Thank you to the medical teams for the couple of times I had to ask advice for my friend's rescue park in the amazon. They helped out greatly, and it just goes to reinforce their awesomeness. Keep up the great work. GO PLANET!

Kristi

Went to the roaring nights 80's party and had a great time. Got to see the animals at night.

Guadalupe Curiel

Great, awesome place for the family. No waiting in line, bought my E-tickets on line printed my tickets got them scanned at the door and in less than five minutes we were in. Love the hippos, bear, giraffes, flamingos. This was a plus free parking and across from l.a zoo the Audry Museum... you can take your cooler and your own food.... bottle water $3.50 and above one cinnamon churro $4.69.. But had a great time with the boy's....!!!!

Anita Sharma

Nice place to Visit with kids but please avoid hot afternoon as you won't get to see animals they are resting in shades and waking for kids also become difficult.

Kevin Reddig

Things to note. 1. They do have places to buy food and have vegitarian options. But.. it is not that good. They do allow outside food so bring it on in and head to the picnic area. Also their drinking fountain water is Disgusting bring water. 2. The bird show is worth going to... so check the times when you get there. 3. If you are bringing kids there is a playground. And a carousel for a few dollars. 4. When it is too hot you won't see much but they have two indoor exhibits to hide from the heat. Reptiles and nocturnal animals of Australia. 5. Parking is free

Dallas Woodward

The animals are amazing. Pricing for drinks is not as bad as expected. Only a few of the exhibits were closed due to renovations, so we were able to enjoy almost all the animals.

Jonathan Zimmerman

This is a wonderful zoo. It's not too large and it's built on a hillside so you get to see varied terrain. I've been to zoos all over the world and I like this one.

Lisa Guam

So much fun. Electric wheelchair options are great.

Lucia Perez

Free parking lot, you can take your own food and drinks friendly staff animals well maintain

angie doss

Too many closed exhibits In need of renovation But overall Myself and My Fiance Made The Best Of Our Trip

Jodi Winn

We had a great time at the Zoo. I checked off a item from my bucket list. Feeding a giraffe was a fantastic experience. The grounds were well kept and bathrooms were clean.

David Manuel Munoz

LA Zoo is a great place to visit during the week when it ain't packed. There updating all the exhibits and it's looking awesome.

Luz De Mayo Camacho

Fun place for the kids. Wish they had better wifi. The kids playground was very nice. Great for little kids.

Dianne M

It was a really nice visit, so many animals to see and a good way to learn about them. For plant lovers there are varieties of plants and trees. The bird show is fun and impressive, it lasts 15 min. but it's worth it. I recommend you planned your visit and see the show or event they are offering the day you are planning to go.

Michal Rechav

I love seeking out the new animals at the zoo and learning about their backgrounds. They have such a wide range of animals that it really takes almost 3 hours to see everything. The trees are all In Bloom right now so it looks lovely.

Wesley Shumway

Overall great experience. All the staff inside and around the exhibits we nice and knowledgeable. Tickets are fairly cheap and you can find coupons on top of that generally. My only reservation was the staff at the gates weren't very nice, nor were they paying much attention. My son loved it, we saw some cool animals, worth the trip.

The la zoo was amazing so many animals they even have a petting Mimi zoo where you can brush goats and sheep. You can even feed a giraffe

Cecilia Carmen

Love the animals and different exhibits? That's they have. Especially love the Lair

timothy mcilwain

The big cats hid in the shade out of sight for the most part, other than that I enjoyed the visit.

Gowri Nataraj

This place is amazing !!! Great place to spend the day with family . My kids loved seeing all the animals and birds. The feeding sessions for various animals was very interesting. Great food and restrooms were well maintained. We loved it !!!

Rachel Fina

I spent a few hours in this zoo. This zoo is well maintained and very clean. There are a lot of animals, and I have had a wonderful day here. The weather is very hot, but there are not many tourists, we have visited a lot of places... the maintenance work here is really good.

Alan Hart

One of the best zoo I ever visited. Actually i love to visit the zoo at different places but this is best zoo I visited yet. I am totally addicted to this place. The species and well maintained stuff and the beautiful animals could wins everyone heart! Must recommend

Ruben Cordero

What a great place to spend time with my family! The excitement of seeing these beautiful creatures is a memory I have from my childhood and I know my children will have these type of memories too. The Zoo does a great job of providing an environment that we can learn in and have a great experience. It is accessible for strollers, wagons, and wheelchairs, for most areas. If I recall correctly, the aviary has several steps.

L B

Always a great place to visit. Have a great selection of animals. Even when it is busy, still get to see everything. Also love the bird show! Great staff too. Excellent!

Gladys Szilagyi

Up and down hill a hot and miserable day. The animal had it right lay in the cool shade and don't move. Over all the kids had fun.

Room Class

Wow this place is really fantastic. Amazing animals to see here!! This is a great place to stay and also a nice place to look at and take photographs on a very sunny day too.

Jared Simoneau

Overpriced beer, and animal exhibits seem a little small and sad as they are only here for our entertainment in contrast to the efforts of San Diego Zoo's Safari Park. However, this is a wonderful place to see and learn about our planets beautiful wildlife. I only wish they kept the facilities maintained and up to date.

Valerie C

If and when you go to the L.A Zoo, invest into a wagon/cart so that you can take in a cooler, which they allow. Perfect way to have a picnic and have what you need by your side. Lots of shady spots and benches along the way.

Andy Garcia

Super awesome zoo. Pretty crowded, but it's a great place to visit.

Irma G

The La Zoo was an amazing experience that I encountered. It was incredible to see so many animals there. It was unbelievable to have seen creatures that I once thought that I would never see. Furthermore, I truly recommend the La Zoo to any tourist or family that plans to have an incredible day.

Sckeza

I didn't go here, Google just thought i did when i parked outside of it and gave me an option so pretty cool

Joeann C

Zoo exhibits clean and spacious. Affordable family membership deals. Food & snack concessions are reasonably priced. Plenty of "family" bath rooms. Could install areas for nursing moms

J. Lopez

What I liked the most was to see great and big animals such as giraffes, bear, hippos, and of course elephants! Besides, snacks and food are cheaper compared to other places!

Kathryne Duckwitz

Visited on a weekday morning. Zoo was uncrowded, the exhibits of the animals were extremely well kept, well designed and spacious. It's a large zoo with a lot to see. I really enjoyed it and it seemed the animals were very well cared for.

Jennifer Ridgeway

Full family fun! Great staff, wonderful care of the animals and an awesome place overall. Beer for adults, parks for kids, and cool stuff for teens. Covers it all. Will return in the future.

Zachary Noyce

We had a great time at the zoo. Like most zoos, some of the enclosures are better than others, some are more tired. But overall, very fun. Paths are logical without being too much of a grid and/or a single loop. (Study the map for a few minutes and you can probably work out two or three different routes to see almost all the animals with no backtracking or minimal backtracking.)

Jeff Polis

Lots of animals locked up in cages. Probably won't be long till the people who screwed up Sea World catch on to these places. I'd go while you still have a chance. You can spend the better part of a day here. It's pretty nice.

amy ennis

We did a personal cart tour, it was better than expected. Really felt more knowledgeable about all of the animals and their caretakers, we look forwars to returning many times...with a picnic lunch because the food sucks. The best part is that it exhausts the little ones. Score for mom!

Mamma L Baby jg

I have not been to the zoo in a long time. Even though the weather was over cast most animals were out. It would have been nice to know ahead of time what animals were not available so we can spend more time in other areas. We did get to meet two zoo keepers that were very nice and had lots of information about the animals. I wish we could of stayed longer.

FAWN HART

It was nice, but a few of the exhibits were empty, and many of the animals were sleeping due to the heat. Best bet is to go later in the afternoon when it's cooler

Sandra Lipschultz

Very caring for their animals. and great at teaching Angelenos about importance of animal conservation.

Cody Elles

It's the best zoo in LA and not nearly as sad as it was when I was a kid, but there are no zoos that couldn't improve some aspects of how they operate. Overall, the exhibits are well maintained, though some of the interactive elements are worn out and busted. There's minimal shade or mist sprayers and cover on hot summer days, so much of the time between paddocks can be spent dashing from shady spot to shady spot. More coverage from shade trees would drastically improve the visitor experience, especially on that upper loop, above the elephant enclosures.

lexas gadison

I live in Texas. And our zoo can't touch this one. I love California. And it's diversity. But the zoo was a dead ringer for me. Highly recommend it.

Diana Lacy

I love their Animals. Place is always clean! All of the employees and volunteers are always kind. It's always a good time!!!

Eyal Laghaie

Lots of animal, just wish they were more lively i have been to other zoos where the animals had more energy, in fairness we did go late in the day they might have been tired. Also be ready for a lot of walking and alot of hills. Everything is stroller accessible but its alot of hills

Dora Toledo

Has a big parking lot area, the entrance to the Zoo is very nice there's several and great attendees and since you getting to you'll see the first attractions that I love this place.

Ryan Minho

Great place to see different animals, have a meal, and can find a dinosaur statue area as well.

Nathaniel Vega

I love the zoo! It's best to go when it's not so crowded.

Lauri Morrill

Though crowded on Easter this was fun with my hubby n I with Daughter n 2 grandsons. Loved all the animals. If you haven't seen bird show in years...do so for sure-- Incredible!

Alana Melgoza

Great place to roam with your toddler and kids. Lots of beautiful plants too. The animals start to go inside at 4:30pm, so plan your day before that. The restaurant near the gift shops has the best fresh food.

Mitchell Blanco

Very nice zoo had a great time with my family here, would definitely visit again. There are a lot of animals here.

Neda Bridgeman

You can easily be here all day. Very clean. Food is good. And they serve Golden Road Beer!

Robyn Castello

Our family lives the zoo. We are zoo members so we do come frequently. There is always something to do and see. My kids ranging in age from 2-11 always have a blast. We always end our route at the playground, which has water sprayers to enjoy on super hot days.

Thisguy

Highly satisfied!!! And most definitely recommend families to swing on by to L.A zoo. Just WOW. It's the first time I bring my family and the staff was just over the top on top of it with their kindness and very helpful and resourceful. On top on animals needs and resources on letting us know as we browse and enjoy their company. It was just an amazing experience!!! Thanks for everything. Keep up the great work!

Ross Carlyon

Too hot, very few animals were out, understandibly. Needs a tram ride. If there was one we did not see it. Our 2.5 year old got wore out fast, so we took the fastest route out and back to air conditioning.

Cony Monterroza

I was very desapointed, some animals are in a very small spaces, most of the little rivers or lakes were very durty,(green and smelly water). I understand that because the hot whether we couldn't see some animals and a few places or shows were close. They should tell us before to decide to enter or not.
