You will be able to see the reviews of people like you who know the services of Little Rock Zoo (Zoo) in Arkansas.
To this day this business receives a score of 4.2 stars out of 5 and this rating was based on 2562 reviews.
As you can see the average of ratings is quite positive, and it's founded on a large number of opinions, so we may be pretty sure that the assessment is quite faithful. If there are many people who bothered to leave their opinion when they've done well with the service, it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to place opinions when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Zoo is classified in the category of Zoo.
A terrific variety of animals with easy to navigate exhibits. We saw almost everything we wanted to, and my four-year-old nephew had almost as much fun as my seven-year-old niece. Good spot!
The animals were actually out, and about. They were doing more work to the zoo though, so some paths were blocked & we had to back track to come around another way. All in all it was a great day!
The zoo was nice. It's a good size and perfect for a family.
It was fun seeing the animals. I didn't get to see my favorite animal :( but I heard them. I got pooped on by some sort of bird where the first part of all the big fish in the pond were. I wasn't the only one, but I think they should put a sign up warning people to be prepared for pooping birds above. Other than that, it was a good experience and the funnel cakes are to die for!
Sadly, a lot of the animals weren't out so we had to miss a lot. The gift shop wasn't that great either. Overall it's a good place to take the kids. We all had fun. The monkeys and chimps are always entertaining.
The zoo was clean and staff we encountered were friendly. They had several empty exhibits though.
We had so much fun even tho we got locked out of our car. Thankfully the maintenance people helped us out by giving us a wire coat hanger!!!
Always love the LR Zoo, especially when there's new babies like the orangutan!
Very nice facility. Well laid out, with great views of animals. The zoo, including public areas, animal enclosures, restrooms are clean. The animals look great, are provided with various forms of enrichment including training, foraging, keeper interactions, "toys" and more. I was very impressed. Hanna (our tour guide) was EXCELLENT- informative, and made the tour fun AND educational. Gold stars for Hanna!! Many of the zoo purchases either go to animal care, facility maintenance or national and international conservation programs. We bought a family membership since we live in the state; if you're "just visiting " donations will help support conservation.
Great fun! Enjoyed Cafe Africa. Employees all nice and friendly. Farm train was fun --nice "engineer"! Beautiful animals.☺
It's a basic zoo, I'd say only 40% of the exhibits have animals. Kids like the playground more than the animals that are visible. If you're looking for a zoo, this classifies, but you can take the kids to the park for a playground and it's way less expensive than zoo admission.
Great experience, some animals where not in things being renovated. But the animals that where there were out an about witch was nice.
Nice selection of animals and most were about and about when we visited. Really wish they could get more funding to fill the empty exhibits.
Construction made getting around difficult. Very little shade. Some animals needed better habitat
So welcoming and organized. My preschooler was very excited to learn more on a Saturday and LR Zoo was ready!
Love the zoo. There are some ongoing renovations to navigate, but that's a great sign! Keep up the good work.
Well we enjoyed the zoo but we ended up staying a little past closing time, And had to climb over the gate to get out, we called and called the after hours number but no one answered to come unlock the gate. Thought it was kind of crazy that they locked us in and went home.
Went with my grandson class and we all enjoyed it so much .
I love the zoo because the animals make me.happy to see them. Some are more shy than others. Thats ok I'm kinda shy myself sometimes. I love the littlerock zoo!!! You should come out and support our city zoo. Peace out and go, ou know you want to!! Have fun and be kind to one another. The world needs more kindness. Have you open the door for someone today? Or let someone in traffic in front of you!! Well go ahead pick out something kind and do it for someone =)
Cool animal's but there pens had no water whitch was wrong it was 90+ out. Reasonable price for a small zoo
Highly recommend getting a year pass if having a family because it's a great place to bring kids. Always appreciate staff who show kids snakes or other animals up close. Food truck food can be a bit overpriced, but tasty - can't say the same for the cafeteria food. Kids loved the penguins, but don't get fooled by "penguin parties" held outside the zoo. Trust me, it's no party. Anyway, the zoo is great!!
It was such a hot day but we had so much fun seeing all the animals and the bird exhibit they had going on that day.
Lots of exhibits but the layout makes it easy to navigate.
This zoo is steadily getting better. They are updating a lot of areas with increased funding. Family always has a good time and you can't beat the cost effective membership dues.
Pretty awsome had a blast love the lil train
Great place! My kids had a blast. We saw done animals we don't have at our local zoo and there are very informative plaques at each enclosure that they were excited to read. Also, there is a carousel and train, as well as, 2 playgrounds and a petting zoo.
Good variety of animals. Lots of shade and water misters to cool ocf6.
I have a zoo membership I love just going and walking around and looking at the animals
Very hot day really felt very sorry for the animals a lot of them did not have water around them. The Zoo needs a SERIOUS FACELIFT! The birds had the best area.
Most of animals were inside so we couldn't see them. Lots of them were alone-only one of its species. Very few of the big animals. The food stands were all closed except the one big cafe. The gift shop was very disappointing.
Nice employees. They need more funding. Nice park-like setting. Nice for walking .... Nice cafe'.
Kids had so much fun. Construction is going on. Excited to come back and see the new exhibits.
Surprisingly expansive zoo with a wide variety of exhibits, friendly staff, and beautiful landscaping. You'd never know you were right next to an interstate which speaks volumes to the planning. They've experienced a lot of construction related disruptions, affecting water features, and overall access, but it's still worth a visit, and rivals many of the other zoo's I've visited.
Boo at the zoo is a great time for the kids and families
Good for a small zoo. Not too expensive (except the train ride was $3/adult and lasted about 3 minutes.) Some exhibits are empty from time to time but it's well laid out and additions and upgrades are in the works (May 2019.) Much better than it was a decade ago.
A terrific variety of animals with easy to navigate exhibits. We saw almost everything we wanted to, and my four-year-old nephew had almost as much fun as my seven-year-old niece. Good spot!
We liked it but needs maintenance and more life! Like open places to buy food, drinks! Needs life besides the animals. Staff were very kind and friendly
Great family environment. Great reptile exhibit, cheetah conservationists exhibit, and great ape exhibit.
My family loves the Little Rock Zoo we go to zoos all over the US and Little Rock Zoo is a nice place to visit to see amazing animals
It was great all the animals were out I got plenty pictures not too crowded and everybody was very nice tickets were reasonable concessions were high but that's to be expected
I will go again. We went on a Sunday. It was quiet.Friendly and clean. Got to see most of the animals. Loved the cats of all shapes and sizes. Very affordable.Wish they had a aquarium. The exhibits needed water and most were not big enough especially for the bears and cats. Not enough places to buy food or water glad we brought our own. Picnic area was closed so we sat in the truck. It does look like they are expanding and remodeling.
A few animals but with all the construction there’s. Or an easy path around the zoo and many animals were no where to be seen. The train was nice but a really short ride for $3 a person.
There was construction which made navigating a little harder. I however was very impressed by the zoo. Some animals were not out because it was very hot, that is not anybody’s fault. I live close to one of the top rated zoos in the country and visit zoos wherever I go.
Always enjoy trips to this zoo. They add new things and the grounds are pretty well kept. There aren't as many food options this time of the year, and we missed the giraffes. Otherwise, a great visit.
5 star if they had a Electric Vehicle charger
Meh. It was okay. A lot of the exhibits wete empty. But the ones that werent were pretty good.
The zoo was great. A few displays were out of service, reason behind the four stars instead of five. I would definitely recommend it as a fun family day.
They seem to have more exhibits open now and more area renovations complete. Its definitely improved over the years. Worth the visit now.
This is a very nice zoo! The only downfall is the lack of cooled buildings. In Arkansas where it gets very hot, it would be nice for patrons to have a good place to cool down in the hot summers planned throughout the zoo. Otherwise, it is a great zoo!!
Very few animals. Memphis Zoo much better.
We live out of State and thought this Zoo would be awesome for our 3yr old grandson but it wasn't. The whole place was pretty much under construction and the admission lady failed to give us that information. A lot of animals weren't in their habitats and barricades everywhere. The train wasn't running and the Faris wheel cost extra. Very disappointing.
Good overall but it was a very hot day and a lot of animals were not out. Several areas were in repair or closed. Very limited refreshments.
A truly wonderful resource for the community. It may not be the Bronx or San Diego Zoo, but the work the Little Rock Zoo is doing to provide activities for our region and their conservation efforts worldwide is incredible. With the growth they've experienced over the past few years I'm very excited about the bright future ahead for the Zoo and our town.
- A lot of water supplies to refresh yourself were broken or turned off. - Seems to always have construction and (half of) the exhibits are empty because of it - a lot of shops and other areas were closed too although they say they were open according to the website or entrance. - pricey for what it is if you want to compare to the Memphis Zoo or St Louis Zoo. + It is a zoo... Its great to be able to visit one and the people that take care of the animals.
It was so fun! Sure we had to walk but otherwise it was great. Lots of animald.
Reasonable pricing and parking is only $3. The kids loved it!
Nice small local zoo that I would say is perfect for younger audiences. The animals are well cared for and the staff/care givers are friendly and knowledgeable. We can easily spend just a morning or afternoon there. We like going when it first opens as I feel the animals are the most active. Some areas could use some updating and it appears the organization is moving forward on projects.
Showed they were open on their website from 9 to 4 everyday for winter hours. No where does it say that they will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday until after February. Was really upsetting was taking my daughter for the very first time and drove over an hour and a half just to be a wast of time. Need to update your website
We went to Boo at the Zoo!! It was amazing!! We had a blast! I would recommend anyone to go!!!
Love this place. Got here early today, the animals were just coming out, the keepers stopped to talk to my 4 yr old about the animals. Very cool.
Many of the exhibits were empty and those that did have animals seemed completely inadequate. For example, the drizzly bear enclosure was extremely small and provided nothing for the bear to do. It laid on the ground and scratched the wall a couple of times. Going to this zoo made me appreciate my home zoo so much more. The Little Rock zoo is in need of a major make over. The best part was looking through the glass of an enclosure to discover it was actually an empty breakroom because then my kids had fun saying they would have waved at the employees if they had been in there. It's pretty bad when 8- and 10-year-olds leave the zoo disappointed.
It was a good place to take kids. Other zoo's are great for children and adults.
We bought an annual membership and I'm so glad we did! We only made it halfway through so plan on spending more time here over the summer. The membership gets you discounts in the store, cafe, and at several zoos in other states which is awesome!
Very kind staff. Animals well taken care of and seemed to be loved.
It's been over 10 years since I went, and there are some definite improvements! New attractions and updated buildings are beautiful. A few new animals are lovely to look at. There is still construction and updating going on, even after all these years. Can also get very crowded. Overall, we still had a pleasant afternoon visit.
Opens to public at 9 am, we arrived and entered the park at 930 and close to half of the exhibits were closed (animals locked inside) and being cleaned..seems like they could have done this before opening to the public so we could have seen all the animals we paid to see
Had a great time and the kids absolutely loved it. We will be planning more visits.
Took my son here and he loved it so much we had to go again.
It was cool hadn't been in years really enjoyed it
Many attractions closed. Didn't seem to be ready for the season. Good organization of the animal groupings. Spent three hours with the grandkids walking through the zoo and didn't leave feeling totally exhausted from excessive walking and we were still able to visit almost all of the available zoo attractions.
Boo at the zoo was great for all ages
amazing setup and great selection of animals and such!
Boo at the zoo was spectacular especially great for the whole family.
I love our zoo. I feel happy making it the primary place to take my year old son for outings. The staff there are always beaming with their love of the animals and the community. They never stop consistently working on improving the living spaces for the animals. I know some say zoos are animal jails but I firmly feel that everyone employed there only wants the best environment and attention to the conservation of the species housed at the Little Rock Zoo.
So great! I greatly appreciate Children's Hospital teaming up with Little Rock Zoo to do the Dream Night at the Zoo for our special kiddos! It was amazing being able to take my son to a zoo, for the first time ever.
My family & I made it out to the zoo today, & this trip was the best time at the zoo we have had. The day started out cool, so a lot of the animals were out & active. But what topped it off was as we were going through the reptile room a zoo worker named Tony Ballo (sorry if I'm misspelling his name)called us over to show us two snakes mating. He started out just sharing a few facts about the snake's anatomy, but by the end we had spent over a hour walking with him while he gave us some cool facts about all the reptiles and amphibians we were looking at. He even walked with us when my son wanted to go see the little primates. He had some laminated sheets to help show us facts about them. It was great getting to know him as he shared with us about his travels from the Philippines that took him around the world. My family had a great time learning more about the animals today with him. We would like to thank Tony again for his time today.
Really a great zoo! I was very surprised at the variety of animals and was very pleased with the cleanliness and care for the animals!
Had a great time. Just bring water and a snack. Or visit the African Cafe.
A few animals but with all the construction there’s. Or an easy path around the zoo and many animals were no where to be seen. The train was nice but a really short ride for $3 a person.
Our zoo is amazing! The staff and exhibits are great!
It's always a great time. You never get tired of seeing the amazing animals. Plus, I will continue to go and support the zoo. The Mayor of Little Rock is cutting funding, so I will make sure to continue my support of the zoo.
My kids love the zoo, even though that it's not a big one. It have 3 different playgrounds and lots of places to run free
Love this zoo but everytime I come you have a lot of animals not out. And when you got schools coming they should be out. I also do not appreciate having 5 schools there at a time that is to many people at one time and we couldn't even enjoy ourselves.
It was $day we ate at the restaurant there is was good service was fast
I love the zoo, but, the zoo NEEDS to be bigger. The animals look like they are in small dorm rooms instead of habitats that look like open natural areas. When seeing the bear section of the zoo, a bear gets the same size living area as the otters. Hint, both areas are smaller than my house which I can't stay in for more than 48 hours before I need to get out into the world. So, I sure do hope with the mayor's plans are to give the zoo more land in order to improve on this animals living arrangements.
Not a good experience. When we went to take pictures/feed the birds a bird was biting our toes and the worker said “maybe you shouldn’t be wearing sandals.” When it was 90+ degrees. The animals were not taken care of. They all looked so depressed or stressed out. I’ve never seen a bear pace back and forth. Another bears claws were extremely grown out. The elephants looked very sad. Everything looked so sad.
It was amazing animals of kinds. It was dollar I would recommend going on a regular day cause it was packed.
Great improvement over the last few years. Hopefully, it will continue. Enjoyed the last visit with my kids.
There was construction which made navigating a little harder. I however was very impressed by the zoo. Some animals were not out because it was very hot, that is not anybody’s fault. I live close to one of the top rated zoos in the country and visit zoos wherever I go.
It's a really fun time. Make sure to go in the morning when the animals are active. There is also a 5 minute train that runs for $3 a person, under three ride free. Make sure the kids ride on the right hand side if you do ride!
Nice little zoo. Great for quick trip with the kids who love the animals
Great family visiting place!
I grew up going to this zoo, because it's really the only zoo in Arkansas. They have so many animals from each continent. One of their recent additions is the penguin habitat. The zoo of course seems smaller than when I was a child, but last time I went was still really enjoyable. The zoo charged only a dollar for admission on a Saturday and my whole family went for the occasion. A lot of the animals are the exact same ones that have been there my whole life. They seem to be treated fairly well for a zoo, which means a lot to me.
I loved it especially the gorilla named Brutus or I think that was his name he came up and high 5ed me
An amazing experience. It was about $13/person. Travelling with a student who is studying to be a zoo keeper made it all the more interesting for our party. All the staff members were extremely helpful and answered all of our bottomless questions. The only thing we wished is that the exhibits had the names and some more information on each animal and how they are rescued by the zoo.
The zoo staff was very friendly and helpful. There was an elephant feeding photo opp that was $10, totally worth it! The petting zoo had several animals that were all very sweet. The only thing I think needs improvement is the token system. It would be a lot simpler for the customer to do a wristband system that can be purchased at admission.
Me and my daughter just loved it. At first she didn't want to go but after we were there and explored she couldn't get enough of the animals. Great family bonding we stayed all the way till closing time and did all activities. The animals were active for the most part.
Large and well maintained. Not sure why, but when we went on a Thursday in July it was mostly empty, so we didn't run into much if anyone, so the animals were active and not hiding from noise etc. The only downside is most enclosures use a chain link fence or net with not a lot of glass windows, so it makes it hard to take good photos, especially on a phone with no manual focus.
Many many years had passed since I'd been to the zoo... what an awesome adventure? ..... my daughter and I must've had a ball!!!! Thanks Little Rock Arkansas .... you really have a great place there. Kudos
Was good beside the fact they over charged me.

I attended Boo at the Zoo with my nieces tonight. The time and effort put into the decorations and overall presentation was incredible!! To see something like this in Little Rock was shocking, but in a pleasant way!! I can't compliment them enough. Kudos to the Little Rock Zoo. It's certainly a hidden gem!!
It's was a good trip but there's room for improvement compared to when I was a kid
It was very well organized and put together
Seemed decent. Not all stalls were open. Could use more water fountains. Animals have decent habitats.
Me and my daughter just loved it. At first she didn't want to go but after we were there and explored she couldn't get enough of the animals. Great family bonding we stayed all the way till closing time and did all activities. The animals were active for the most part.
The Little Rock Zoo is somewhat smaller than the better-known zoos in Memphis and St. Louis, but they have a wide variety of animal exhibits. Over the last 20 years, the Little Rock Zoo has been renovating the exhibits to provide more humane homes for its animals. Like at most zoos, prices at the gift shop and cafe are steep, but that's one of the ways that all zoos pay for their upkeep.
Went to Boo! At the Zoo. Was fun but was disappointed the animals were inaccessible. Great decorations!
Love going here I love takingthekids and teaching them about all the different a animals
Awesome experience.... for a real fun time play the mating call of each animal on youtube as you stroll the enclosures, your welcome
Have a birthday party there!
I was there a long time ago I do recommended but you go there for all the families and even individuals will be going soon again
It was a good outing. My daughter rental me a mobile wheelchair. The only problem was I only used it for an hour and a half still had to pay $25.00 for the rental. I believe in this case it could have been half price because we were there from 6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m which was closing time. when I spoke to worker about it, he said he wish could adjust the cost but did not do so.
My husband and I took a friend's son to the LR Zoo for a day of fun-filled activities. As we walked along looking at different animals, I noticed most exhibits we're very unkept and the animals looked sad. At one time, the LR Zoo was ranked as one of the most beautiful zoo's. What has happened? Most of the exhibits we're grown up with grass that needed to be cut. I was very disappointed in what I saw. Quite a few animals were not on exhibit (tigers, alligators etc.). I hope the zoo's task force will make needed improvements to this zoo. War Memorial Park has been around for years and it need to maintain it's popularity with not only the zoo but the stadium as well. The new exhibit on the round about on Fair Park Blvd. is really nice and it represents the zoo. Please get the zoo back to its natural beauty it once was.
I love going to the Little Rock zoo. Lots of fun for inexpensive price.
It's a fun place to go with the family. Restaurant and gift shop inside. Lots of new animals of all different types
Boo at the zoo here is awesome. Great vendors, animals (obvi) and fun stuff to do.
Little Rock Zoo is okay. Lots of construction, which it needs. Good number of animals. Could use some tender care, but worth the visit.
A great place to visit on your own or with your family. Be sure to check out the fun festivals and events at the Zoo throughout the year as well.
It was very hot but my kid's enjoyed their selves
Nice place for you and your family to have a fun day. Vender prices are a bit pricey
It's good for a close day trip, but honestly for just a couple dollars more you can go to the Memphis Zoo. It's much nicer and they have even have a seal show!!
I love this zoo! It's a park setting and has a carousel, a train, and a few really nice play areas for the kids, one is directly in front of a cafe so taking a break and having lunch while still being able to watch the kids play is a nice bonus! The best part is it's not crowded so if you have kids with autism or special needs like mine you can actually enjoy yourself and take your time looking at all the exhibits and animals. Everyone is very friendly and helpful, it doesn't seem super new or state of the art but I mean who comes to the zoo to see technology anyways!? Plenty of animals of all diffrent types to see some up really close!
I haven't been here in some years, so since it was my Mom's birthday I took her!! They have so many new exhibits and it's just amazing!! We went on a day where it was chilly so we were able to see a lot of the big cats that usually don't come out unless it's cooler. Will definitely be returning!!
Dollar Day @the LRZOO! Lots of people, and I could move around comfortabley, not muggy as of yet. I enjoyed myself very much!
Great place to take a date or friends. They have a diverse selection of animals to look at, so there's a high chance you'll be able to find your favorite animal or discover a new one. Also, their penguins are pretty cute.
I felt very happy about the zoo and the animals. We're so blessed to have such a remarkable group of animals here for us on God's beautiful earth! I feel like the caretakers are wonderful human beings capable of compassion and true care and concern for the animals.
I didn't have very high expectations of the Little Rock Zoo, but I was wrong. It's a nicely laid out, fun experience. There's some walking involved but what zoo doesn't involve walking? The exhibits are fairly attractive, the personnel are pleasant, and my family got to experience what felt like a once in a lifetime experience when the cheetahs went after a squirrel that was on the ground in their enclosure. It was like watching the National Geographic channel in real life! Amazing to watch! That one thing alone was worth the price of admission, not even counting everything else there is to see. Thanks cheetahs!
So impressed with the updating and expansion of the Little Rock Zoo! This was our first visit in 2 years and we were not disappointed. So much for the kids to see and do, i would not waste the money at zoo cafe. We spent $33 on burgers and the food was NOT good! Not worth the money AT ALL! Everything else was amazing!
We love coming here and seeing all the animals. Right now there is a lot of construction and sometimes the smell from animal waste is a little strong in certain areas of the zoo.
I went during boo at the zoo it was great. Everything was free after entry and we left with a gallon bag full of candy. And no one wanted to leave! If I were to change anything I would of been there when the gates opened
Where are the animals. Hardly any animals. Understand the construction but disappointed.
Not the biggest zoo, but a great bang for your buck. Great array of animals to interact with
Enjoyed being here for Kids With Disabilities Day. The kids could feed some of the animals & pet some of the animals. Nice trip with family.
Good place to take the family. Probably worth a membership if you go a few times a year.
Kinda was awesome... Kinda sucked. So there were a lot of animals not out which really blows. At the same time they had elephants which is awesome. I have mixed feelings about this zoo because it seems like they have a lot of species but there were so many cages saying "animal is off exhibit" or they just wouldn't be out.
o, I went about two years ago (September 2017) and I just can't stop thinking about how much this place appalled me. The exhibits were small and dirty for the large majority of the animals (and it stank more than any other zoo I've been to) with the most memorable areas being a line of primates with concrete floors and tiny indoor and outdoor areas and a Catalina Macaw being kept in the aviary that was caged off in a small area about 20 feet off the ground. A cage like for a macaw that might be acceptable for a companion bird with several hours of out time, but not what you would expect for a zoo. As a parrot parent, that was immensely upsetting. I would never allow a macaw in an open aviary where people walk through, but give the poor thing its own area with other macaws where it can fly. It was difficult to see, but it wouldn't be shocking if it was showing signs of plucking (maybe a reason it was largely kept from view). A notable runner up was the elephants, which had an incredibly small area, but better than the small primates and macaw. Wikipedia states that this zoo intends to create bigger spaces for the animals, but how long will it take? It has been two years and, from what I've seen, they just add a new animal when they want to update instead of actually improving life for the animals already there. I am pro-zoo and this was really upsetting. As a side, the majority of food places and stores seem to be closed on any given day and human areas weren't well maintained or pleasant when I went.
It is a great place to spend an afternoon, unfortunately about 30 min after we arrived it started pouring rain. The kids were troopers and there are multiple places to get in out of the weather and still enjoy the animals. Ultimately we bought the family pass (the entry fee for the day was credited towards the purchase). We will be back often
Great place. If you wanna see the animals active you need to plan for a nice cool but sunny day.
Family environment, good for kids to see animals they don't see locally. However, the food court/restaurant was packed with slow service. Entry price was a bit high, too.
The zoo is getting better. The cafe needs improvement. The reptile house is kinda sad but the new children's sensory garden is nice. Hopefully we can improve the bears location more as the baby bear grows up. I feel like the zoo is trying to get better.
Don't go on a Hot July day.... the animals were so hot they were hiding. Seems they needed water just as bad as we did. They need more shaded areas, maybe plant bamboo everywhere bc it grows quick and is very cool when thick. Some areas had shade but the areas where they didn't the water fountains weren't on and no misters to cool off. They do have gorillas and penguins which we have never seen and were so beautiful. They just need to add more water and shading. Babies can over heat quick so bring cooling cloths and fans and lots of water. Hope they improve. But worth seeing in a cooler month of the year.
It was a lot of fun for the kids at a very reasonable price.
Decent zoo. Cafe is overpriced and pretty bad but I've experienced that at every zoo I've visited.
Great variety. Good food. Loved the animals.
Well laid out trails Well cares 4 animals !
Great improvement. I hadn't been in years.
Great experience with grandchildren, especially. Great "engineer" and ticket taker on the little train!! Wonderful lunch!! Great flavor and price a little on the high side but worth it!! Unfortunately, some animals not out because of cooler weather - couldn't be helped. Eryn nice gift shop!!
Ended up going on one of the first non-raining weekend days so it was real crowded. Even with the crowd we were able to visit all of the exhibits. Want to return after the new construction is finished.
It could use some TLC. I wish they didn't close everything so early during "winter hours" because it was very inconvenient. The zoo was clean and the animals that we saw looked healthy. I think with some updating it would be great.
My kids just love it. Only downfall is that we went dream night with my son who has autism an my son was disappointed that most of animals were not visible an asleep. I wish the event some how could have been a little bit longer before dark. An we got locked in the zoo too.
Guest services is worse than the TSA. As a member you have to show multiple forms of ID. Non-members and members share the same line even on weekends. Animals are on point though.
Great visit, understanding and friendly staff just wish the city budget cuts hadn't lost us the rides this year. My girls were really looking forward to them.
This zoo is way larger than I anticipated. There are a lot of animals and even a petting zoo. The parking was free and admission is cheap. I recommend bringing quarters to feed the fish and the animals in the petting zoo. The food in the cafe is also fairly priced and better than I expected, which was a great surprise.
We are really enjoying our zoo membership. We have been twice and have yet to visit all of the animals!
Not the best zoo, but ok. The animals habitats and general landscaping around the zoo was dirty and unkept. It's actually kind of small as well. Not terribly priced, and the ability to observe most animals was pretty good. Not much interaction activities at all, in fact none when we were there. Worth a visit if you're marking off zoos on your list, but have seen much better.
So many improvements since I last visited years ago. We attended a wedding at the zoo. Who knew they host events and offer fantastic catering? Really a great time.
Was a beautiful day! A lot of animals, but A LOT of people!
Me and my 5 year enjoyed every minute at this zoo! We will most definitely be coming back.
The weather was nice. Not too crowded. Most of the animals were out and about. We went in around 9 am stayed until 2. We ate lunch at the cafe. It is a great place to spend the day with the kids. Nice play areas. Just a few habitats were under construction.
I’ll have to say it’s definitely improved from the last time I went. Large variety of animals that all looked clean and healthy. I would highly recommend going even tho the price is pretty steep. But if it goes to improving and upgrading I’m all for it! Our granddaughter had a BLAST!!
My grandkids and I love the zoo. Clean and educational
Grateful to see improvements and additions to the zoo past couple of years. We came for the lion birthday party which was great ! But we intended on having lunch in the cafe and hanging around til closing. But apparently you believe that this is winter... with winter hours closing the cafe at a peak time of a perfect zoo day. Bad call in my opinion. No other decent overprized FOOD available. :-/ ...so our family is hungry and now must leave to eat. Some giraffes would be great ;-)
I enjoyed the time with MI family, but not many animals were out.
It could use some TLC. I wish they didn't close everything so early during "winter hours" because it was very inconvenient. The zoo was clean and the animals that we saw looked healthy. I think with some updating it would be great.
The animals were very active and appeared to be well maintained. One of the better smaller zoo's I have been too.
Great place to take the family and enjoy your day. Food is pricey. Other than that, you'll have a fun time.
Loved this zoo! We are members in Houston so we got in half price. The habitats are well cared for, the animals were mostly active and easy to see. Loved everything and hope we can go back next time we're in Arkansas.
The little Rock Zoo was a super fun family day out. The staff was super friendly and very welcoming. It was kept well cleaned both inside and outside of the animals habitats. I highly recommend taking your family out for the day and visiting the Little Rock Zoo.
Very nice zoo.. The monkey exhibits had better visibility of the monkeys than most zoos I have been to. The girlfriend normally gets a little depressed at zoos due to enclosure sizes and she mentioned that this zoo did not give her that feeling. Would certainly go again if I were in town.
This is a great place to take the family. They have convient parking. There are great displays and a wide selection of zoo life to look at. They have places to cool off and buy concessions. Have a cold drink or ice cream. Enjoy your day here.
Wish the bigger cats were in bigger spaces other than that cages looked pretty good and my family had a great time!
The zoo staff are helpful and kid-friendly. The zoo itself is a walkable size for active young children with excellent play areas and conveniently located bathrooms. The animals are active and easily viewed.
This wasn't a bad zoo, but there was a lot of construction and a ton of exhibits were closed! But, I understand they're trying to improve things. I do recommend they update their signs, there were several times we were walking around in circles trying to determine where we should be.
Awesome zoo, employees are nice. Gift shop is kinda lacking, i would love to see some bumper stickers and posters/print media (educational books, puzzles, games!)
Wanted to give it 2 stars. My son and his family came from ND and I thought the zoo would be a great place to go. Boy was I disapointed. For the price we paid to get in thought it was going to be great... A lot of animals were off exhibit. The zoo was not very clean. The food in the cafe was great. Very disappointing.
Enjoyed our visit today. Loved the baby sloth bear
A very nice, well maintained zoo! Also you might would like to try zoo cafe. Great, fair priced food, hot & fresh!
I loved this zoo! The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The exhibits were well designed and maintained. There seemed to be a good amount of enrichment for the animals in their individual enclosures. I will be back again and again!
Thank you Little rock zoo for doing what you do you provide great homes for animals in so many ways and zoos are I am assuming really hard to run and I am glad that you give the animals the option of being inside and outside even though that means some people do not get to see the animals it is there home and the animals are not there for entertainment and I know you guys are doing the best you can with everything and I just wanted to say keep up the great work! :)
Pretty good. Not finished yet. Nice variety of animals.
This is one of the best zoos I've visited. Easy flat walk and lots of exhibits and really fairly priced compared to some. We spent a surprising amount of time in the bird aviary (same building as reptiles). We went there for our daughters Kindergarten Field Trip and had a great time. The Africa Cafe has a really cute jungle gym play area that the kids almost preferred over the animals. Go in the Spring! The weather was perfect.
There was a lot of work and construction being done on exhibits which is great. We go lots of zoos and I feel like most of the exhibits were small but well cared for.
Amazing experience at this zoo! All the animals seemed well taken care of as well as happy. I will prewarn anyone visiting however that the food prices are expensive. Canned soda from the vending machines are 2.00, the food in the cafe is exorbitantly expensive as well. I highly recommend pre eating before you come or bringing your own food like we did. Other than the prices it is an amazing experience to share with family and children to say the least
Every animal was napping. They did away with the giraffes. Was disappointed in that. Would like to see more animals!
My wife loves zoos so we travel all over to go to them. We weren't impressed with this one. It was cheap to get into the zoo so it was almost worth the price. I hate having to leave through a gift shop.
It was so much more exciting when the kids were smaller. The girls (now teens) thought it would be fun . Instead it turned them into Animal Activists. It broke their hearts to see all the animals distressed due to confinement. Beware of the Parrot display that you're able to walk into. One but the fire out of me. By the end of the day we were hot and cranky. Next time I'll bring the grandkids on a cooler day.
Doesn't look taken care of, grounds looked the worst I've ever see them. Animals didn't look happy or healthy. Time to make changes in staff and where the budget is spent.
Our kids absolutely love to go to the zoo. They have also made some really fun changes to the kids play areas. I love the new touch smell hear see Garden area.
Haven't visited the Little Rock Zoo and had actually made plans to go to the Memphis Zoo. Glad we stayed home. It was very nice. Lots of animals were out to enjoy
One of my families favorite Central Arkansas destinations for a day trip. Take the kids, learn about some animals, and even grab some eats around the zoo as you walk around. If your looking for something fun for kids or without, I recommend checking out the Little Rock Zoo!
Gone here since i was a baby. I take my baby boy there. I hope i can take my grandbaby one day. Arkansas
Enjoyed the zoo today. Wore the kiddos out.
Had a great time at this zoo. We went just after storms and the animals were very active. Only took one star away because several exhibits did not have animals nor signs stating that the exhibit was temporarily closed.
