REVIEWS OF Out of Africa Wildlife Park IN Arizona

Michele Tucker

animals are well cared for, and you can tell the keepers love their job. Tigers were eager to participate with their "toys" and it was a great show. Loved the addition of the lions a little while later as well Only disappointment was the rudeness of staff at both of the food places up by tiger splash, While it was a Saturday and the park was busy, there was no reason for either of the gentleman to be as rude as they were to not only us but people ahead of us as well.

Scott Kolar

It's a very nice wildlife refuge. I have only been there once and it was great. I do get to see some of the animals every work day as I get fuel . Go on a day that they are feeding the predators and remember to check the weather it's hot in the Verde Valley in the summer.

Trina Eayds

We took our daughter here for her birthday and the entire family had a great time. We had the Expedition Passport... it included admission, the SuperMog tour, and the chance to feed a tiger. Our tour guide, Daniel??, was awesome and he obviously loves the animals and his job. It's a fun place and I'm sure we'll visit again. Most importantly, the birthday girl said it was a special day because she got to spend it with family and animals!

Stephanie Herrera

Highly recommend this place. I have been there twice and would go again. I would recommend paying upgrade for smog tour. This place is amazing to watch animals have so much space to roam and play. Each animal has about 2 acres. Staff was so nice and very knowledgeable. Tour guides are also trainers so the animals interact with them. All the shows are great, and no animal is trained it's all done through play and natural instinct.

Austin Spinner

I have been here twice in the past year and I love this park! We did the sloth experience and it was a ton of fun. I love how open the park is, feels like the animals are in their natural habitat, not like a typical zoo where they are all in small enclosures, they have huge open areas for each animal that are allowed to roam freely. The owner is a super nice guy, you can tell he really cares about the park and his animals. I will be coming back here again soon.

We went on a VIP tour and it was a life-changing experience. An owner, Dean, gave us a tour! He is so knowledgeable, personable and funny. It was so special to see the bond he has with the animals. He knows them all by name and when he calls, they come running to him! We saw him feed lots of animals, wrestle around and pet wolves like they were puppies and he even hold a king cobra. He also knows all of his employees by name and called everyone on the tour by name. It was very impressive. I'm sure every tour is a little different. We started out by getting to pet, Jericho, the rhino. We were in awe of getting close enough to feed Watusi, Sable Antelope, Gemsbok, Ostriches and more by hand. We were a couple feet away from zebra and so many other animals. My favorite was feeding the giraffe a biscuit from my mouth! The Tiger Splash show was lots of fun. Every employee we met seemed to love and be passionate about their jobs. The owners Dean and Prayeri were front and center throughout the day, making sure guests were having an unforgettable experience. It is certainly a day we will treasure for the rest of our lives.

Sean Foley

This place is like a private zoo. If you want to get up close and personal with live life this is the place. Accommodations are limited.

Karin Coover

Such a unique experience! Love the viewing decks. Almost scary how close you feel.

Hannah Valdini

Animals are happy, healthy and well cared for. Lots of space to spread out and many options to experience park through shows, tours, ziplines, horseback, jeep tours, etc. Not as much animal variety as a typical "zoo" but this is not a zoo. It's an animal sanctuary and the people really care for the animals. Shows are one of a kind and better than any I've ever seen.

Jennifer Wells

My kids are already begging to go back. Loved the Safari tour, and how close and interactive you could be with the animals. It is a lot of walking and the trails can be difficult for a stroller, but totally worth it. Refreshing not to be bombarded with flashy corporate feeling. This place is really about the animals.

Michele Tucker

Delois Gowin

Quite fun to visit. Make a plan for half the day, cause there's lots to see!

Candice Richardson

My husband and I did the expedition tour. Liz was our guide and she was fantastic! She was very knowledgable, friendly and outgoing! The tiger splah show was really fun and exciting to watch. We had an amazing time and plan to come back soon with our kids.

Nicole Wienczkowski

Absolutley worth it! I loved this place. We were so close to the lions and every animal for that matter. The best part is everywhere you walk you will see wildlife. I am thinking about getting a membership for here. This is privately owned unlike a zoo. By far my favorite place i love tigers and tigers they've got! You can even feed one. All in all fantastic place will be back!!

Samy Porrata

We had a really nice time here. The bus rides to feed The giraffe was fun. The driver was so sweet and entertaining. She had a real love for her work. It’s quite a bit of walking but not too bad. Check out the tiger splash. Fairly priced fun. Bring sunscreen!

J.Z.

Absolutely amazing experience! We've participated in the V.I.P. tour. Dean's love for the animals and the knowledge about them is limitless! If you love animals or you want to teach your kids about them, then this is the best place to go! You will get so much more than just to see the animals!

wyatt larson

Wonderful place to take the family End it is one heck of an experience that is worth the $38

jenny s

We loved it! Much more interactive than other parks. It's not cheap but it's privately owned and money supports the animals, most are rescues. They also allow outside food.

Jeff R

I'm from the Tampa Bay area and have been to Bush Gardens many times, but I wouldn't drive across the country to go there. I would however walk from Florida to Camp Verde in stormy weather to experience this wonderful place!!!! I ❤❤❤ Out Of Africa!!!! Watching Jeff the Tiger Wisperer was as thrilling as the many times I have swam w/ sharks, or hauled long line hearing for Grouper or Tuna in tropical storm force weather in the Gulf of Mexico!!!! Plus, where else can you get kissed by a Giraffe? I can't say enough good things about this amazing place!!!!!!!

Sharon Rueckert

The animals are loved and well cared for.... toy can see the love the staff have for these beautiful animals!

Crystal Roberts

Always enjoy going here every year for mine and my son's birthday month. (You get in free the whole month) we love to watch the tiger show.

Karie Bruder

AMAZING place! Great for all ages. Staff is very knowledgeable and you can tell they and the animals are happy there! Highly recommend!! (PS...totally worth the extra money for the bogg tour!)

America Walk

Went here for my sisters birthday and they employees all have endless patience and deserve all the tips. You can go ziplining. The gift shop has a pet cat named Misty R. and it loves pets. Recommend.

Elizabeth Markona

Love that they rescue many of their animals and treat them kindly. The staff are passionate about animal welfare and conservation.

Melissa Pina

Great place to visit to see wildlife and some shows. Nice they have a tram to take you from one area to another. Bonus: you can go anytime your birthday month and get in free.

Kevin Henschel

Totally recommend this place for a nice little family adventure.

Kragar Canuck

Go there, go there now. Knowledgable, friendly staff, and a great assortment of animals, and often able to get fairly close.

Aarsha Yagnavalkya

Great place for wildlife adventurists. You could simply walk through the entire loop and get to see all the animals so close. Great staff, nice shows. Absolutely loved it

Scott Kolar

It's a very nice wildlife refuge. I have only been there once and it was great. I do get to see some of the animals every work day as I get fuel . Go on a day that they are feeding the predators and remember to check the weather it's hot in the Verde Valley in the summer.

Accipiter Occisor

We, a party of 3, didn't know what to expect coming into this place, but were extremely happy with the large animal spaces, the kind and friendly staff that are over the top with any answers to questions about the animals, directions to exhibits, restrooms and concessions. Around every corner there's a surprise of delight and amazement. The next time we come back to Sodona, we'll surely spend a half a day there.

Carol Champion

Beautiful setting where the animals have plenty of space to roam and are cared for with love and respect.

Connie Jimenez

Amazing !!, Got to feed the giraffe and got a big licking kiss!! The tour guide was amazing, she really tried to get the animals to come close to us so we can feed them.. so glad I had an amazing experience.

Yummy crazy fries

I LOVE this zoo SO MUCH!! The best time to go is when the temperature is low, even possibly raining because all the animals will be out

The Spaniard

Love this place, plenty of room for the critters to roam around. The staff really tries to love and care for them. Zip lines for teenagers and a great day in general for everyone I like...

Jacksman

This is a hard no. Exploitive, stereotypical and unauthentic at best. The few animals they do have look sad as the park isn’t a even close to their natural habitat. There’s so many other places to stop, you should just keep driving.

Bob Marcavage

Awesome Park, learned a lot about the animals and park staff was very informative and helpful. There is a wide diversity of animals that you can see in their natural habitat. Glad we made the time to visit.

allyse canni

Fun place to spend the day. Love following along when they feed the animals. The staff are all amazing and you can tell they love the animals. It is not a fancy place, but the animals are well taken care of. We even bought an annual membership so we can go more often. Great for walking and getting your steps in too!

Karen Young

We had a great time!! Loved all the animals, especially on the safari ride!! We fed the giraffe, Pilgrim!! And the tiger show was great!

Chance Powers

Decent day trip. Friendly and entertaining staff.

Shurel Griffin

Great place for the kids. The big cat show was the hit! Will visit again.

ryan pflughoeft

Wonderful animal rescue/zoo like thing. I'd work here if I could. This place is amazing, all the animals are so happy, cared for properly and loved.

Diana Mercer

If you want to have a great time this is the place. The zip line is amazing. Going again soon.

Frances Barnett

First time going and it was ok. They have a variety of large cats. Also have other animals. About 1-2 places to get something to eat. Loved the tour bus at the end our guide was fantastic. If you just want to get out of the house it's an ok place to go. A little pricey for what it is. I most likely will not return. Expected a little more. You can go your birthday month for $10 so that's a plus.

Ryan Jay

One of the best zoo like places I've ever been. The animals are all happy and love the space they all get. In most zoos the animals walk back and fourth, bored out of their minds in small confined enclosures. Here they all have lots of space, they have interaction with the workers and you can tell just by looking at any of the animals, they love the place. Any time I get to AZ I try to get here at least once.

Toshi Anand

I loved the tiger splash and snake show. There is an animal feeding show (I do not remember the exact name) when you can walk around the park with the zoo keepers while they are feeding the wildlife. There are lions, tigers, white tiger, giraffe and others variety of wild cats. I definitely recommend this place.

Russell Davis

An expansive park with a number of natural habitats constructed for the various species. The people who work here are highly dedicated and clearly care for the animals.

Samantha RIvera

I love this zoo, it is absolutely amazing. All the animals are close and visible, the safari tour is really educational as well as entertaining. I've gone here a few times now and enjoy it every single time. The tiger swim event is a do not miss event as well, it is spectacular

Bradley Scruggs

Out of Africa was really cool. My fiancee and I have driven by the billboards so many times so we planned a weekend getaway to go check it out! It was her birthday month as well so there was a discount on her ticket which was pretty cool! Fun stuff!

Lena Rivera

A unique experience seeing a lot of exotic animals. It was so awesome being able to be up close and personal with all of them . And we got to feed the giraffe and tigers. And they had a wonderful tiger show.

Karma Calti Darastrix

Amazing park for a day trip! Went there for my birthday and enjoyed every bit of it. I especially enjoyed their shows "Tiger Splash" and enjoyed meeting Tapestry the reticulated python. This park also offers Zipline, Safari rides and horseback riding.

Chaiya Wimber

Great place! The tiger splash was so much fun to watch

Lyle Eckert

This was a pretty cool experience, the ride through the open roaming area was a cool departure from most of these kinds of things. Other than that the animals looked like they were in good shape, and well taken care of. The Tiger splash show as worth seeing, even if they couldn't get the cats to go in the pool the day we were there since it was too cold for them I think.

richie bentley

Had a great time, just a few miles from where I live. Lots of fun to ride the bus as well as walking around. Tiger plash is a very fun show! The staff at Out of Africa are amazing.

Sophia L

Fun activities. You can go on a safari, or kiss a giraffe. Watch tigers splash in water, and pet a snake.

Cal Tingey

Super cool. You can get very close to the animals. Plan to stay most of the day.

Samantha RIvera

I love this zoo, it is absolutely amazing. All the animals are close and visible, the safari tour is really educational as well as entertaining. I've gone here a few times now and enjoy it every single time. The tiger swim event is a do not miss event as well, it is spectacular

Kristos Roshi

Wow what a great experience! From the zip line to the tiger show this experience was awesome. The zoo was full of animals and it's really well kept. Highly suggest the zip line. We went on a rainy day and still had a blast!!

Stephanie Bloniarz

Great day with friends. Fun for ALL ages! So much to see! Lunch was great too!

Heather Michelle

I love it! I kissed a giraffe. Excellent customer service experience, everyone is super friendly and helpful.

Chris Paredes

Loved this place..did a truck through the animals habitat...lots of fun but bring water

Chase Barcia

Great people work here and the animals are awesome! The only recommendation would be more signs on the cages to know what your looking for.

Angelita Contreras

The place is awesome, we arrived a right at 9:30 (Open Time) tour at 10 or 10:30 was so good.. After the safari tour we walked to see the animals but some were still asleep or just hiding but around noon or so when we were getting ready to zip line we could see the beautiful lions, and tigers.. The Tiger Splash show is a must see! The staff that work with the tigers are so brave and amazing!!! I found weird that the place clearly stated in more than one place NOT to bring outside food other than water and almost everyone brought outside food! Only reason I bring this up is because one people don't respect the rules and two I kind of understand why... The food there is just heated up corn dogs and such.. But with all the walking we did you work up an appetite that you will have no choice but to eat what is offered at the concession stand. It wasn't terrible but it's not that good either... Also keep in mind they do offer a shuttle every 20 minutes but you still have to walk on rocky surfaces.. I Zipped Lined with my 8 year old! It was the best 15 seconds of our little lives!! Overall you can't beat the experience for the price ! The staff is awesome and we will be returning Thank you Out of Africa ! P.S. FREE PARKING !! That is unheard of nowadays !!!

Kristine Imber

Very impressed! Animals in extremely large facilities, happy long term staff. Spent entire day here.

THE GLAM PARLOR AND DAY SPA

Was the best experience. The animals are so well cared for and have plenty of room to roam. The cat show was just remarkable

Jill Everett

I looked forward every July... Even in the heat for free during bday month. Now it's 10 bucks .... They charge alot, they can't be losing money for letting people in free on their bday!

Roamer1

This place is awesome!!! I can’t find all the photos I took.....there are shows where tigers run with trainers and jump in a pool, you get to pet a snake, and the bus tour is really cool! All come with a ton of information about some our favorite animals. Feed the giraffe with your mouth it’ll transport you straight to France ;)

Krysta McFarland

Where else can you see tigers playing around with giant toys and people?? There's lots to see and things to do. Most all animals are easy to spot and the hyena will "moo" at you, and to be polite, you are to "moo" back -super cute! Worth the drive!

Susan Scott

This is my 2nd visit. It's amazing for wild animal care.

Danielle Burke

Wow this was a lot of fun although we didn't see a ton of animals. I'm no expert but I think it was the heat. We knew we were going to want to see as much as possible, so we booked a ride on the super mog. It was worth it. There was some cool wildlife you get to see up close , including a giraffe encounter if you are lucky and he's hungry. Reptile Resort should not be overlooked. The display glass was kind of dirty to look through, but being face to face with some of the biggest snakes you'll ever see is thrilling. Feed-A-Tiger was pretty lackluster. Wish we booked the sloth meeting in advance as it was sold out at the booth. Would love to come back during our next trip to Arizona!

Matt AZ

The plus is the friendly staff. Sadly it is not like a safari. Three of the five major species of Africa ate not on scene. The bus tour is very uncomfortable as the seats are spaced like an airline did it. Just not worth the price.

Bradley Scruggs

Out of Africa was really cool. My fiancee and I have driven by the billboards so many times so we planned a weekend getaway to go check it out! It was her birthday month as well so there was a discount on her ticket which was pretty cool! Fun stuff!

Blaine Ericson

A great place to see animals in a natural environment. The tigers are the best.

Terre Johnson

We enjoyed the layout of the animal habitats. We also appreciated that you can go on the month of your birthday and get a huge discount. They only problem was that you do have to walk around a bit which was hard on us.

Roxana Espinoza

Lots of fun, great idea for group outings, and reasonable priced food.

Linda Baker

Best place ever! Got to be right up front at feeding time! Super people that really are informed and caring about their animals!!!!! I highly recommend this place!!!! Better than a circus or zoo!!!!!

Aubrey Reddick

Tiger Splash is the best! No other wildlife park does anything like it.

Alex Baker

This place is 100 times better than Disney land in ever way, shape and form. The staff is exceptional; they are courteous, talented, passionate and professional. The price of admission is reasonable for the amount of activity’s available to you, as you will have to make several trips back here to experience all the exhibits and shows. Finally, the animals are treated humanely and have large enclosures to roam in! P.S. this place has FREE PARKING! That needs to be praised in this day and age!

Kerry Gilbert

This place is awesome! Employees are very knowledgeable and friendly. The price isn’t bad at all for what you get. Animals appear to be treated very well with large habitats. The food isn’t the worst, not the best either.

Susan Craigo

A must visit for the young and mature. The tour was awesome. Love that their animals are rescues! I never seen so many of these animals up close. Wow

Diana Macias

This park was actually really cool and my 2 year old loved it! The tigers are surprisingly active, more so than a zoo for sure. And there are quite a few. We got to feed a giraffe and ride a shuttle around. The shuttle will drop you off at different spots or you can also walk- it's all dirt paths though so keep that in mind. Not super stroller friendly though a jogger stroller might be ok. I would suggest they update their food stands, have better food and improve some of their facilities. Overall, well worth the price of admission.

Larry Reves Jr

The amount of money this place brings in could be better spent on the habitats and on some of the animals small cages. Like the big cats ave wolves need rocks and trees and. Big pool of water. More land to run. Instead having all them expensive rides you have and have to keep up. Drop the rides and Vocus more on the habitats. The baby cubs wolves etc are all kept on this awful hot as hell nasty no ventilation little building. My wife was floored.

Tiffany Therrien

We love bringing the family here, always a good time feeding the giraffes right from your seat on the safari bus ride! And getting to see so many unique animals in their natural habitat. Love every minute!

Lena Rivera

A unique experience seeing a lot of exotic animals. It was so awesome being able to be up close and personal with all of them . And we got to feed the giraffe and tigers. And they had a wonderful tiger show.

wasim raza

Nice place for family and kids. They have lots of Tiger and Lion. You will get to feed Giraffe. The staff are very knowledgeable, they have Tiger splash show where tiger and some park keeper will play with tiger in water, its fun. After the show you will get to feed Tiger for $5. They also have other shows where you can touch different kind of animals, like Iguana, Burmese Python and some more. Over all very nice place to go.

Keith Vincent

Love the critters. They make MY day.

Mary Duchac

WOW is about all I can say about this place!!! Definitely worth the price!!! We went on the super mog tour with maryl, who was so awesome with her knowledge of the animals and all her interactions with them and us... we fed the tigers, my hubby kissed a giraffe and we watched the predator feed.... they only do that 3x perweek!!!! It was a great experience...

Scott Kelley

Pretty neat place! We took the VIP (behind the scenes tour) and our guide was awesome! The whole staff know their animals and have great love for them. Be sure to get a kiss from the giraffe!!

Sam Millar

It's a nice zoo but the biggest thing was that it said you could use a wheelchair on the roads and I'd strongly disagree. A true wheelchair got stuck several times and we just didn't go all over because of this.

Yesenia Aguilar

Great place!!!! Super friendly and helpful staff! Very knowledgeable! Park is very clean! Great place to spend a day with animals! You can bring your own water and you can either walk the park or take the shuttle around.

Ella Montgomery

I love the tiger Splash show it was so great it was in such a nice experience kissing a giraffe was just so great the people there were very kind and loving but there's just one thing and it's not their fault it's Arizona fault I hated walking in the heat

Jeff Isenman

I was a bit disappointed with this place. It impressed me as being sort of an old and tired place. The staff was friendly and seemed to know what they were talking about. But, the variety of animals is a bit limited. You can pay $5.00 to "feed" a tiger but you are really just pushing a piston that shoves a piece of meat to a tiger. If you are in the Phoenix area, Wild Life World Zoo is a much better experience

Jan Haden

This is a great wildlife park that is setup for the animals. The staff are all awesome. Only issue we had was the heat. It was 103 and we had to leave before getting to see all the shows.

Andrew Marconi

Special shoutout to Mike today he was our tour guide. Had a great personality and made our Smog tour a great experience. Highly recommend this place it was a memorable day and great price for a birthday. Overall a fun experience for me and my girlfriend.

Jessica Malik

So fun! Took my 4 year old neice and she had a blast. Fed the giraffes, watched a great tiger show. A must go place; put it on your bucket list.

Maria Low

We have been going here for 6 years now 3 years ago we started taking my nieces and as an Aunt and Uncle vacation and we are never disappointed the staff and the owners are extremely friendly love what they do there to help all the amazing animals thank you Jack for taking the time to take a picture with my nieces and nephew . We love this place every year it gets better Love and prayers Thank you for all ya'll do.. God bless you all... :)

Candice McDonnell

An amazing, intimate wildlife preserve. They are completely funded by visitors. Autumn is a great time to go!

stacy watson

Loved this place! Staff were great, friendly and knowledgeable. Animals were well taken care of and they had a large variety of different animals. Would definitely reccomend this place.

Afterhours101

This place is better then most zoo's. The staff truly shows they love working here. The animal interaction, ive seen more in 10 minutes up close then a full day at a normal zoo. Plus the pens are huge and the surrounding landscape is incredible. 100% worth it

Pete Stevenson

Close as you can get without the long trip to Africa. Animals were awesome, shows were great. All shows were timed so that you can maximize your time. Employees were incredibly dedicated and knowledable. Loved this place for the animals as well as the staff!

patricia wells

The best Zip Line ever. John, Fernando & Martin were the best guides. Absolutely loved this, good thrills

linkinzpark88

Such a great time. I visited Jan 2019. Pros: - Cost is very competitive compared with similar experiences and admission includes shows such as Tiger Splash, petting exotics animals, and others - Free parking - Staff is very friendly and helpful - The Safari ride is a blast where you can feed giraffes and other animals - Animals have a lot of room to move around - Plenty of clean restrooms and a free shuttle service that runs all day Cons: - Food could be a little better but it is very comparable to other zoos - Some of the exhibits could have a bit more information about the animals to encourage learning more about them, but I suppose the paid tour would cover that - A good amount of animals were off exhibit but I'm sure that's to do with the time of year and fact that they could of been hiding in their large exhibits Overall I can't recommend Out of Africa more as it is a lot of fun and a great bang for your buck. If you love animals, then you'll love this place.

Robert Leasure

Awesome animal shows. Loved tiger splash.

Dan Correa

It was AWESOME! We had my son celebrate his 3rd birthday here. We were able to bring a cake and the staff kept it cold for us until we ask for it. Even took it back until we were ready to leave. The experience was wonderful for the entire family! Had foods like Nacho's, shaved ice, ice cream, and drinks. Everyone and everything was fantastic!

Michael Johnson

I haven't been to Out of Africa since it was near Fountain Hills. I took the wife and we had a very good time. Nice to see the animals in such huge preserves. Took some pics of the Tiger Splash show area.

James Dillon

Cause we enjoy wild life special orangutans monkeys . Tigers are cool

Natasa Tanasic

This is the best experience ever. To be able to see wild animals and be super close to them and see people around them working freely. I would definitely recommend this to everyone. My son loved it and enjoyed every second of it. And dont forget to get a kiss from a giraffe. Giraffe was far away and we called the giraffe to come to us and the giraffe came, that was invredible. The interaction with the animals is like you have never seen before. The best way to describe it is: WOW!

LeAnne White

The supermog tour is worth the price....our tour person was great, she stopped so we could see animals, she threw feed to get the animals a little closer to the vehicle...well worth the drive to visit.

Libby S

Very fun and entertaining! Kept us busy all day! The Tiger Splash and Feeding Tour are a must see. A great place to spend a few hours and you get to feed the giraffes for no extra cost. Loved it and would go again but would recommend getting there as soon as it opens to see every show!

Raquel Young

Very great I want to thank them for facing my fear of snakes I actually held dutchess a python boa she was the sweetest thing ever I also love the tigers and all the animals cant wait to come back again ❤❤

David Glick

Been here multiple times and always enjoy it. I would suggest you go during a moderate time of day because it does get really warm walking around in the daytime of summer. The VIP tour is well worth the price as well. You get a guided tour, lunch, and first dibs on feeding the tiger.

Sabrina Lakho

Amazing! The staff was so friendly and went out of their way for our group. Kaitlyn even took time out of her day to give us a private tour ... she even went over the time just to show us everything we wanted to see. Amazing experience.

Clara Davison

We had so much fun. We got to kiss a giraffe, hold a python, and feed a tiger! Wonderful staff who really love all the animals there and take great care of them. Would definitely recommend!

Laurie Petersen

One of thee MOST amazing experiences I have ever had. Feeding the giraffe out of my mouth was so unbelievable! Ugh, if EVER you get the chance to visit, GO!!

Jennifer Block

I've been to other parks but none compare to this. The animal interaction is amazing, the caring way of the staff is amazing and the price is extremely reasonable for what you receive. Be prepared to walk a lot, however there is a shuttle just in case. it was not overly crowded and noisy. It felt as though we were hiking and saw wildlife. The animals are rescues from other places and have so much space to roam.

Jason Lassourreille

The SuperMog is worth every penny, it was the best way to see the animals and tour the park. The rest of the park is ok but a bit rough around the edges. Will probably be too hot for most people during the summer.

Bobby and Sally Bobby and Sally

I would say go early in the morning and just the safari ride

Robert Schermer

Even with a heat warning we enjoyed ourselves. Make a day of it. Do everything. Go back again. Staff here obviously like what they do.

Taylor Yellowman

Its a great place to visit but if you have kids in a stroller you have to walk the whole thing. On a hot day not fun you can take them on the shuttle but if you finish looking at the animals you have to wait to be picked up or walk. And the shuttles run at specific times. We waited at 1 stop for 30 minutes.

Dotti Higley

We love this place. Very educational for adults and children alike. We took our entire family of 18, ages 10 months to 53. All had a great time.

Ronald Meiller

Great experience. My three grandsons loved it. The animals are beautiful in their spacious habitats. These animals are loved and well taken care of.

Eric Tan

Probably the neatest animal place I've been to. Better than any zoo. The engagement with the animals there is awesome. And the staff there are very well trained and educated with their animals. We came from Scottsdale in early April and it's about 4000 feet of elevation, so depending on the time of the year, check the forecast before you go. It was quite chilly the day we went but didn't think to check cause it was hot in Scottsdale.

Curtis Wood

Fun place to visit. Much more interactive than a regular zoo. You get to be up close and personal with the animals and the park employees are very helpful and knowledgeable.

Sean Walker

Love this place, if you're ever here treat yourself to the VIP tour. It is well worth the money! If you're into photography, plan ahead and do Kathleen Reeder's photo workshop here. Amazing! Animals are all well cared for and you can tell the staff all love what they do.

Sue Bono

Loved this place! The animals had nice big areas to roam and they seemed happy. They came for treats when they were called. Loved watching the tigers splashing in the pool.

Theresa Brown

First time visiting and we had a amazing time!! Thank you to all the staff You guys are amazing

Cori Warnock

I love this place. Its family owned and it shows. The employees are super helpful and very friendly. The shows they have a the best. Definitely recommend "Tiger Splash." The enclosure are very large and you can tell the animals are happy, since they are always active. There is a lot of walking involved and with little shade. Bring sunscreen, Camelbacks, and a hat. The zoo is entirely dirt so non motorized wheelchairs will be a problem. However the dirt gives the zoo a more authentic experience

Michell Warren

Fantastic place to visit actually a must!! Up close with amazing animals, the staff are ALL so welcoming and so friendly. So much to see and do, make a day trip to Camp Verde and have wonderful life time memories

shronda barkley

Everything was amazing even the staff my family made great memories

Darlene Mansfield

First time visited, grandkids enjoyed but need more water fountains on trails

Tera Heer

Kids loved it. We loved how much room the animals have to roam. The only downfall is food. Bring your own food. Flies everywhere in food they serve and cook. Its disgusting. Kids loved the shows.

Stephanie Snedeker

Awesome wildlife park! They have some amazing animals there. All the keepers are awesome too and you can really tell they have a deep passion and love for animals and are willing to answer any questions. The sloth encounter is well worth the money. Tiger Splash and Predator Feed are amazing too so make sure to make time for those! Highly recommend! Lots of fun, unique activities to make it different from your normal zoo experience.

Timothy Phillips

My wife and I were here today as I write this and we had a wonderful time. July 15th & it was 107° But we didn’t mind. There’s trams to take you to any part of the park if you’re not able or interested in walking. They have a very cool bus tour where you can possibly feed a giraffe and see the whole park on a guided tour. We saw the Tiger Splash show with Katar the 2 year old tiger. Very good show. We also bought separate tickets for a sloth encounter where we met, fed, & pet Bart the sloth. He was such a sweetheart. The park employee helping us was so awesome. She did a great job. We will be back but maybe when it’s a smidge cooler outside.

Vanessa Larue

Fantastic wild animal park! You can see the animals up close and see a large variety of them. Caretakers are knowledgeable and are there to answer questions. It's a large park with lots to see and do!

Erika Church

Surprisingly awesome! Excellent staff. The bus tour and the tiger show was really great.

Joanne L

Great family fun. Be sure to catch tiger splash and take the Safari tour to feed the giraffes!

Melissa L

This place is awesome! The animals have huge habitats, and really seem well cared for. Everyone here was helpful, friendly, and seemed to love their job. It's not a swanky place, but it doesn't need to be. You can trolly around, but I recommend walking. I've never seen big cats so close before! It's all dirt roads, but our heavy duty stroller had no problem. An umbrella stroller would be a challenge, however. Bring a good camera for a lucky shot of a wolf or lion on a platform looking out at the mountains.

Alice Kurz

Very well run private park. The animals are treated very well. The shows are great.

Meagan McCabe

I took my kids here, which was a first for all of us. We loved it! And all the walking helped expel some energy, so once I got them into bed, out like lights. Definitely would come back!! Highly recommend!!

Carol Miller

Amazing day at Out of Africa animal park. Highly recommend the VIP tour. While a bit pricey, it is well worth it. We were fortunate enough to get owner Dean for our tour. We had amazing animal encounters and created memories for a lifetime. Make sure you feed a tiger. We also did the sloth encounter and Bart was adorable. A great way to spend the day

Megan Collier

Our favorite animal park out of all that we've been to (and we've been to almost all of them in AZ). The staff is amazing, the Safari ride is the best, the tiger splash show is unlike any animal show I've ever seen, and the animals are happy and have lots of space. I love how it's privately owned and everyone there is proud to work there. I will support them as often as I can! I've pretty much only been there in the summer when it's really hot, but the animals are still always very active and out. I need to go sometime when it's not so hot! I take family here all the time because I'm proud of this animal park and how close to home it is.

Tracey Davis

My daughter flew in from MN to celebrate her 21st birthday in AZ. She wanted to wake up and make Out of Africa the first stop on her special day. Everyone from drivers to tour drivers to concession stand employees to gift shop staff were outstanding! Helping me hide gifts she picked up then put back (we were soooooo sneaky), wishing happy birthday, allowing her to rest when needed (she was in a walking cast), and generally making the day the best birthday possible not only succeeded but exceeded! We will be back!

Michael Kopp

This is a great park with an even better mission. It's also a perfect place for families.

Eric Thompson

We had a fabulous time there saw lots of animals and were there for the feeding time exciting to watch the lions eat and listening to them roar take the bus ride

Sherry Irwin

This place gets a 5 for what it is and a 4 for the experience. You get what you pay for here. Relatively inexpensive with a couple different types of tours offered. A good variety of animals, some informative shows and great access to the animals. This doesn't compare to the San Diego Wild Animal Park, but it's also alot less expensive and really a different organization. Based on everything I have read and gathered from my visit, this place is essentially a huge rescue, but a rescue ran by loving owners - and it shows. Look close, the cats have room to roam from enclosure to enclosure, etc. The people that own this place are saints. It's a short drive from Phoenix and an excellent way to spend half to full day. Kids will love it. Me/spouse and senior aunt/uncle enjoyed our day. I would go back with other visitors.

Jon Fenderson

A great venue on unique layout. People can really explore and learn about so many animals in an intimate way.

John Vitti

Took my son, Daughter Inlaw and 2 grandsons ages 3 & 5. Friday Sept 6. Could not of had a better time. Highly recommend this place. Extremely friendly and knowlegable staff. Price for tickets was a good value. Will go back again. Thank You Out of Africa!!!

Linda Curell

Impressed with how well kept animals were. Clean water in cages, foods available. Only idea would be make bottled water available at all shuttle stops or wherever electric is close by to sell bottled water My kids didnt bring in enough

Georgia Ronda

A very natural setting. I loved seeing all of animals. The staff was great! A very enjoyable experience! We bought the annual pass.

Jeff Sillaway

Great jeep ride and Winery tour! Laura was a fantastic tour guide. We even got to meet the owner Mr Jump.

Austin Zeilmann

We did the VIP tour with Jeff. He did a fantastic job getting us close to all the animals. It was great thank you.

Joshua Mocini

Privately Owned! They need your patronage to survive. They give Veteran discounts! They get no government funding. I think the service was good. The logistics of the facility could use some improvement, but the experience was great!

Roberta Russell

Great place to visit, a little more natural of the animals than a zoo. Tiger splash is fun to watch!

Kayla Hansen

I love this place!! It’s so much fun to see these beautiful animals so up close and personally, and to see them so happy and well cared for. The staff is all very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable and make the whole park experience extremely fun! Great and educational for kids and grown ups alike!

Monica Price

Fairly hot...I would wait to go in the cooler months but otherwise amazing

Cj Beall

Staff at the park were fun and friendly. The animals were great. And the "tiger splash" show was awesome to watch.

Roz Scoggins

I had an awesome time with NCA National Concierge Group

Carol Miller

Amazing day at Out of Africa animal park. Highly recommend the VIP tour. While a bit pricey, it is well worth it. We were fortunate enough to get owner Dean for our tour. Megan Mejia

Beautiful sanctuary that's home to beautiful animals. You can really tell the staff take the best possible care of these animals. They take time to educate visitors as well. Highly recommend for people of all ages.

diane wiedemer

I was totally disappointed. Not handicapped accessible, by any means. No pavement. Very dusty, they could at least oil down the dirt roads. It was a rush to get to each bus ride. Then they don't even drop you off close to the tiger splash, you still have to walk far. Then for the feeding walk, it was no walk, it was a run. You had no idea where the next spot was going to be. It was just a big expensive day. It could have been so nice with better management/owners. I will NEVER go back. I did like the tiger splash. When they gave you a ride through the safari for like 20 minutes, that was too fast, that was a rush for some reason too. And everyone had to crawl on top of one side to see, instead of bus turning around and going back through so everyone had a chance to be up close. It was just ridiculous. Beararizona here I come next time.

Kimberly Henderson

This place was amazing. The animals were great. We even fed a giraffe

Ana Garcia

Wow!!!! What an amazing oasis in the desert!! I would highly recommend visiting. It was well kept and clean. The staff were smiling, passionate, and knowledgeable. All the animals had acres to roam around and were well taken care of! This was more like a wild life preserve then a zoo!! My mom and I spent the whole day here and are ready to come back! There is a lot to see and do! Just be warned, the summer heat is INTENSE!! Other then the sun burn, it was practically perfect! P.S- Because they have such large spaces to roam the animals can be tricky to find. However, we noticed the animal’s shaded structures and pools were strategically placed near areas easily accessible. This increased the chance of seeing the animal (we saw basically everything). But to see more animals up close be sure to join the free predator feeding show. We follow the feeding truck (which every animal happily comes out for), and watch as the keepers toss the meat eating animals their dinner. We were literally two feet away from a bear, tigers, lions, and hyenas! It was unbelievable! Apparently food is a strong motivator ;)

Teri Watkins

I would go back here if I was going to use the tram system they have. I wouldn't walk this again. I saw that the tram people seemed more like guides, we walked, we missed animals, had no info on anything. This isn't flat ground. This is on dirt up hill in the sun & heat, nothing like a zoo. Recommend taking the free transportation. I also missed the gift shop if they had one.

Greg Johnson

I loved our day at Out of Africa wildlife. plan on spending the whole day there's lots to see. Get there early. Was able to encounter a couple Lions playing as well.

J K

Great park. You can tell that the animals are well taken care of, and the workers love being there. Very fun atmosphere. We experienced the Tiger Splash, Predator Feed and Safari Tour of the Serengeti. We would definitely return.

Diane Bohuszewicz

Loved this & really enjoyed zip lining over it.

Megan Collier

Had a great time walking through the park. The animals had so much room to move. Loved the interaction opportunities and the staff was so intelligent about them all. We will go again if we get back to the area.

Maria Teress Andrade

Cuahutli Siqueiros and Maria Teresa Andrade on family vacation

Michael Pendell

One of my favorite memories. The staff and exhibits were great. The giraffe eat the celery right out of my mouth on the bus. Worth doing!!

Shelly Nienow

Visited this Beautiful park with my daughter and her family .. loved the animals and loved the experience!!

MUSLIMAH SHAHEED

All of the workers here was so nice and upbeat personality I went Sat July 27th had a great time zipline also was fun!!!

chris stevenson

This attraction has potential. Most of the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Most of the enclosures and animals seem to be well maintained. The Tiger Water Show was fun! The down side... The windows in the Reptile exhibit where impossible to see through. The park felt very disorganized. They seem to be in the process of building exhibits but don't explain what's going on. The maps only showed 2 stops and there are 4. They didn't do a good job of labeling the exhibits. We spent most of the day wandering around trying to figure things out. I do think they have potential but have a ways to go.

Michelle Morgan

This place is amazing! We had a brief encounter with the owner, Dean, and his white rhino Jericho. What they are doing here is truly blessed by God.

Amie Krantz

We had such a fantaic day here

Amanda Dass

Seems a little under construction at the moment - but all the workers are super nice and it seems like they take really good care of the animals.

Tracey Davis

Great experience! Do the supermog adventure. It’s well worth the money. You can get so close to the animals. Would come again if I live in Arizona.

Deb Wade

Such a fantastic place. This is our 2nd time going; we took our 23-year old son and 5-year old niece. They both loved it too! The little one was afraid of snakes and after the special snake show with Buttercup the ginormous snake she got to pet and hold she's decided snakes aren't anything to be afraid of. Our son really enjoyed everything but the tigers in the pool was his favorite. It was a great family day out! I can't wait to return in October for my birthday and my husband's birthday (we'll both get in for free)!!

Vicki Dwyer

I thought it was rough at best they were working on a new habitat I felt like the whole park needed an uplift. The habitats were large but most of the animals you could not see. Cost was to much for the experience. Guides were very nice. Not sure why they have so many 5 stars. Would never go back.

Chris Durbin

This... animal reserve, is great in so many ways. It has a cool safari ride on a bus, tiger show, and critter experience. But here's what I think it lacks; shade along the paths you walk, it's hot, really hot. Also, they need to thin out the enclosures so that it is easier to find the animals you came to see. Maybe a volunteer day would help clean up the place?

Terry Savage

This place was fantastic. I’ve been to several wildlife excursions in different states but this was the best. All of the animals were present to be seen and very active . The employee/animal interaction was fantastic. Our shuttle driver Daniel was really good . Very knowledgeable, well spoken and entertaining. We did the Super MOG , fed the Giraffe and watched the critter encounter. All of which were well worth the money. We went on a Sunday and it still wasn’t too crowded to get around . Fabulous family experience for all ages.

Michelle Shortt

Hubby and I purchased the VIP package which gave us a behind-the-scenes tour with our very own tour guide, who also happened to be one of the handlers in the carnivore Department. Having Britney as our tour guide gave us an experience unlike any other. The animals knew her and would come to the sound of her voice. All the animals were well taken care of, had plenty of space, and looked genuinely happy. I appreciate what Out of Africa is doing in their mission to conserve wildlife and recommend everyone to pay them a visit!

Akhila Vuppala

Loved the shows. Especially the tiger splash which i enjoyed and unique to this zoo. Other show predator feed which is watching the animals feed with the meals.

Mary Gascho

I’m SO GLAD we took the time to stop at the Out of Africa Wildlife park!!!!! We had the BEST TIME and we both agreed it was so much better than the zoo! We got to see the animals MUCH CLOSER and even got to feed giraffes!!! I paid for the sloth encounter and that was great!!! We spent 15 mins feeding Bart fruit/veggies and petting him while the employee told us all about him (they even gave us a picture of Bart in the gift shop)!! Before we left we watched the Tiger Splash show which was pretty cool and paid the small fee to “feed the tiger”! Overall I’m sooooo happy we went and I 100% recommend it!!!!! Be sure to visit if you’re in the area!! You won’t be disappointed!!!!

Mathew McLean

Definitely a great place! It's worth the drive from Phoenix to come here. I had a season pass that was well worth it. Lots of great opportunities to learn about animals by going to the shows and on the safaris. Tons of photo opportunities of the animals as well. The African bush Safari is great.

sonja morsi

One of the best places that I visited while in Arizona. Never have I seen such natural environments for so many animals. Truly incredible! I highly recommend the predator feeding time.

Galena NewEarthTribe

Love Love Love! Awesome wildlife adventure for the whole family. The animals seem very comfortable opening up to visitors, so you get to see many of them up-close and personal! They are very humane to the animals, too.

Carolyn Campero

The best park we've been to. Way better than a zoo. These animals are rescued and we'll cared for. Very educational , fun and engaging for the be whole family. Definitely do the Mog tour and Ziplining!

James Stott

Out of Africa Wildlife Park is a great experience. They take very good care of their animals and none of the animals are taken from their habitats in the wild to be brought to the park. They are all rescues from homes, zoo's or other captivity situations. The animals are all very well taken care of and look healthy and happy. On Friday afternoons they do the feedings which is really fun to watch. All in all the park is a very good place to take kids to learn about big cats and other animals as well as have fun watching shows and viewing other exhibits. There is not a whole lot of shade, so dress accordingly and wear comfortable shoes because. there is the potential for doing a lot of walking. There are 2 concession stands and a number of vending machines scattered throughout the park, all of which take cash and card. If you don't want to spend the money on that, you are welcome to bring in drinks and snacks.

Shaleen Bhatnagar

Good place to visit if visiting Sedona or Phoenix. Entry fee is little expensive but includes various shows. My 10 yr old enjoyed the hyena, tiger and python show. You can actually pat and touch the python

Steve Stringham

Best AZ experience. If you plan a trip to AZ. This is a must for families, singles, couples. The safari tour is short, but a great experience. Not something that gets to be done in a normal zoo. Your up close and personal with all the wildlife. Just dont pet the Zebras, they'll take your fingers off. Take the bus to the rest of the park. There is a ton to see. From reptiles to the great kings of Africa. You can be almost be right there with them. An upgraded ticket will allow you to be there right there with them with trained staff. Shows placed on by who appears to be the owner and staff, are the supreme. They give plenty of entertainment and provide great knowledge of how they are able to be in cages with the animals and play with them. If you need a break from walking and the heat, there are enough rest areas and washrooms in the park. Families dont need to worry. There are snack shops for food with places to sit and eat. Pricey, but not uncommon. Everyday is probably a good day to go, but, I highly suggest a Friday visit. This is feeding day. For those looking for more adventure at a cost. They do have a safari jeep tour or zipline overhead of the whole park.

David Wade

Very fun place to go you can get up close and personal with some of the animals and feed them

Diana Meixner

Too many up hill inclines to walk to see shows and animals. Shuttle did not run on time. Each show is only once a day. If you miss it you are S.O.L. I liked the layout and flatness of the walkways when it was in fountain hills a lot better. Missed seeing Dean and prairie there.
