This Zoo is included in the category of Zoo.
This was a great Saturday afternoon!! It's not huge so you really do get very close to the animals. It's very affordable and would be a really good outing with the family. The mountain lion is a rehab animal and she is beautiful. There would be no way to release hey into the wild due to some idiot having her de-clawed. The bears are beautiful as well. You can get very close, safely, but still close. We will definitely be back this fall when the weather cools down a little. Worth it! Go enjoy the sanctuary. They are doing good work there.
Really fun little zoo. Not crowded at 9 when it opened and got to watch the animals wake up and get fed. Great value at 10 for an adult and free for under 3. They have sessions for the kids to learn more throughout the day.
Wonderful experience! My family and I have been to this zoo twice now. We have walked the entire zoo. We all have seen most of the animals. Some animals were gone. Yet that was due to a anjmals being moved/passing away. The only reason I gave four stars instead of five stars in the lack of water fountains. Yes they do have public restrooms, yet the lack of water fountains especially in the summer makes it very lengthy of a walk. For my kids at least. So make sure to bring water bottles unless you wanna purchase a drink from a vending machine. The splash pad and jungle gym all very sturdy and well maintained. I recommend this zoo to locals and all visitors. A very kind friendly atmosphere they have here! Thank you
Great little zoo to enjoy the day with your kiddos.

I am a decent volunteer at Heritage Park and think it is fabulous. Well taken care of and friendly.
4.5/5 I come here every year, and I still find it exhilarating to come. The only problem is it's a little small, but they are expanding it every year. They have more animals than most zoos. The staff is really nice and caring, one time one of the workers were cleaning out a snake pen, and they let us pet it. (It was a harmless snake)
We had a great time. It was plenty to do and see
As animal lovers this was a very disappointing experience, the facility hasn't been maintained well, and if you're going to house & care for animals the water in the exhibits should be fairly clean or even existing in the pools. Most of the animal exhibits had animals hiding in corners away in the small section of shade in the rear of the exhibits out of view. None of the drink machines along the walkways had any drinks in them or functioned properly. When it was brought to the attention of the attendant he said; we don't own the machines and we've called them.
Nice place to visit for a couple of hours.
Very friendly staff greet when you enter. Very informative folks and clearly love the animals. Small zoo but great up-close viewing of the animals. Overall enjoyable atmosphere for adults and kids.
Decent little place. It doesn't have a lot of animals and isn't very big but it was perfect for our young children since it wasn't huge they were able to walk around the whole time and had a lot of fun. Guy at ticket booth was kind
Been going here since I was a kid and now I take my kids. Always great.
Awesome place for a day trip. Animals are very well taken care of and enclosers are beauitful. Would definitely come back.
Great zoo especially for kids. The staff is informative and enthusiastic. They really care about the animals and kind to people
Pretty area for a zoo. I didn't actually go in the zoo but will in the future.
So glad we stopped here. $10 entrance fee, but it's worth it. Simple and family friendly. With a small playground and splash pad for kids.
Really fun little zoo. Not crowded at 9 when it opened and got to watch the animals wake up and get fed. Great value at 10 for an adult and free for under 3. They have sessions for the kids to learn more throughout the day.
Wonderful small zoo with lots of native species. Nice exhibits and a splash park for kids.
A nice place to spend an hour or so. Not all of the animals were on exhibit in late February, so wait until Spring if you can.
We have taken our granddaughter here multiple times. She loves it.
Such a fun experience with friends or family. They truly care about their animals and it is such a nice size. Not a full day event unless your kids wont leave the playground. Make sure to see the feedings.
Nice little zoo
We loved this small zoo in Prescott. The animals are up close and the people working there were very friendly and willing to answer any question we had. We also enjoyed the picnic tables where we enjoyed our lunch that we brought with us. We will be going back!
Heritage calls itself a sanctuary and preaches about protecting and rescuing animals, however, a friend of mine called to see if they take chickens or roosters and they responded by saying they would take the chickens but the roosters would be fed to the animals. That is the most disgusting thing I have ever heard especially from a place that claims to be all about loving and caring for animals. I know many people that used to admire this place including myself, but knowing what I know now I will never support this zoo again and I will continue to spread the word about what this place actually does.
It's a beautiful place to walk around and spend time with family. The animals are beautiful and there is plenty of places to rest and relax. The park is awesome with the little water sprayer. Also the Gift shop has very awesome and unique souvenirs to choose from.
A really nice little zoo in Prescott
Great zoo! Loved the that they rescue and save! Fun putting experience! Loved the wolf and eagle exhibits especially. Everything was fun. Went later in the day and many animals were sleeping.
Can be hard to find parking, but keeps kids entertained for about 2 hours.
Great place. Loved the animals.
Took a friends granddaughter loved the experience, we all did got to see wildlife during feeding time
Loved this zoo! And it has some playgrounds for the kids too go when they get bored. Also an animal petting area
Absolutely great for the kids, super affordable for us huge family's. Staff is great and very friendly and knowledgeable. Been there a couple times. Always great.
Simple beautiful intimate. Not your normal zoo
I loved it, and the keeper Aubrey is the absolute best. Very unique zoo experience.
Awesome sanctuary! Just the right size for a day trip.
Very small. On Friday afternoon at least 30 percent of the animals were off exhibit. Gift shop limited. No concessions. Only beverage machines.
Definitely the coolest place I've been in Arizona.
Had a great time seeing animals we had never seen and especially so close!!
Pretty cool zoo for such a small town. All of the animals are rescue animals, which is really cool. My favorite animals were the burrowing owl, and they have these tiny little monkeys with faces the size of your thumbnail that were pretty awesome.
Very nice zoo..we enjoyed it very much.
A very lovely zoo! The animals all look very healthy and happy with large enclosures full of enrichments and toys, and are fed a varied fresh-foods diet. The admission is very affordable too, and combined with its plentiful play areas this makes it a great way to spend a few hours for both adults and kids.
Small but clean and fun zoo. Felt a little too small, but for the price, we're planning on returning next time we're in town. I loved the story about the tiger they have - and in fact, that they are a sanctuary and not a typical zoo. The close proximity to the animals was also nice. Two of our favorite things: Tiger feeding at 11 am (6 days a week) and goat petting/brushing area. Our toddler really enjoyed brushing the goat - it was super chill and gentle and we didn't worry for our kid's safety.
Small, but very nice zoo. Excellent for kids. All their animals are rescues and they're non-profit.
Very awesome place to bring your family on a day trip! Friendly staff! Animals are absolutely amazing to watch! We'll be coming back!
My wife and I are annual members. We love it
Awesome zoo. Nice and small. Easy to walk. A lot of great animals.
We buy an annual pass. Besides the animals, they have 2 different playgrounds and a splash pad for the kids. We take our lunch and drinks at least once a week.
We had a great time and completed the loops multiple times. My daughter had fun at the play places and the petting zoo was a bonus.
Pretty cool little zoo. Great for my little one lots of different animals to see.
Fun place to take the grandkids for a day outing
Wonderful experience! My family and I have been to this zoo twice now. We have walked the entire zoo. We all have seen most of the animals. Some animals were gone. Yet that was due to a anjmals being moved/passing away. The only reason I gave four stars instead of five stars in the lack of water fountains. We knew it was fairly small, but it was absolutely perfect for our 2 yo. We got to make multiple laps to revisit favorite animals and the playground area. All of the animals were close and easy to see too. 2yo and 1yo also loved the digging toys in the Kiwanis Korner.
Not very big, but that is what makes it nice. You get to see quite a few animals, even during the heat of the day. Kids loved it, wife and I enjoyed ourselves too. Only real knock is no food. So bring a sandwich or go into town after.
This is a small zoo with a nice assortment of animals including bears, cheetahs, grey wolves, llamas and a wide range of reptiles and birds. The grounds are pleasantly shaded with trees and shrubs and there are areas designed for children's play.
great little display of local animals with a few surprises.
I really liked this zoo. The workers really care for the animals, and in general it's so nice how a lot of the animals are rescues. Some may think this zoo is too small, but I thought it was just the right size for a hot day in the summer. Very good prices and a pretty wide variety of animals considering the size. Completely recommend!
Great zoo. Had water fun for kids and playgrounds. It has breakfast with the bear and feeding of the animals and otherr events. Small but I loved it. Rescue animals and great grounds. Love supporting these kind of venues. Staff were knowledge and pleasant to talk with.
This animal sanctuaries absolutely a fun adventure for all ages. You may not always see each animal as the sanctuary is more concerned about caring for the rescued animals then putting them on display. They are afforded plenty of shady privacy if they need. ❤️ They do have zookeeper talks and feeding times when you get an even better view. There is a petting zoo with goats for the little kids, playground, fountain, large grassy area, and plenty of picnic tables to enjoy your stay. I highly recommend you go and enjoy this treasurer and I'm sure you will go back at least yearly as we do.
The emphasis here is to display desert fauna. Bring the family and pet the burros. Hint...they like to have their ears scratched.
I love that they are a sanctuary. We went late in the day so most of the animals were napping. Go early so you can make the most of your visit. Great place to take the kids and they even have a playground.
Nice zoo with children's area.
Very nice zoo....very reasonably priced.
Very Cool. Lots of cool animals
This is a wonderful sanctuary where a lot of the animals are being rehabbed and well taken care of. They have a surprising selection of animals and some really cool programs available to the public.
This was a wonderful place to visit. A small, but awesome zoo. If you go, you have to say hi to Gus, the big bear and Jade, the beautiful mountain lion from Texas!
Loved it, took my 3 and 5 year old here. The weather was perfect. It’s a smaller zoo, the cost is awesome. Most animals are rescues it looked like, I love that. We had a lot of fun!!
It was ok. I really liked watching Shasha the Bear eat lunch! That was neat... It was right next to the fence!
I loved this place. It's a great zoo that let's you get very close to the animals. Every animal here is a rescue animal! We were lucky enough to show up just before they fed the tiger, when they take the time to explain the zoo and what they do before they feed the tiger. My 3 year old loved everything, and so did I!
Well run sanctuary, staff is very friendly and willing to educate you on the animals that are exhibited. mornings are best to go the animals seem to be up and about they open at 9 a.m. during summer hours .
Love this little zoo. They have been renovating a lot lately and that's great to see. The staff is knowledgeable about the animals and are happy to answer questions.
This is the perfect place to casually stroll with the kids. They have a wide variety of animals for a cute little hometown zoo/sanctuary. I'm having my son's first birthday there at Kiwanis Korner. It's a perfect outdoor location with overhead cover from trees and pavilions. I highly recommend visiting at least once, and if you do, you will want to get a membership to come back and see the animals again.
This Zoo is an awesome way to spend quality time with family. We take our grandsons frequently. Annual membership is reasonable. Daily entrance fees are minimal. You can bring lunch or snacks in and enjoy family picnic while watching animals roam and play. There are two different playgrounds to give the kids a chance to be creative and have some fun playing and meetings other children. There are are awesome events all year long. It's definitely a tremendous asset in our community. Consider a visit or monetarily support some of their programs. An easy way to support them is through Amazon smile. Every time I make a purchase monies are donated.
Fun with my son
Great zoo. Had water fun for kids and playgrounds. It has breakfast with the bear and feeding of the animals and otherr events. Small but I loved it. Rescue animals and great grounds. Love supporting these kind of venues. Staff were knowledge and pleasant to talk with.
My favorite zoo ever. All the animals are so well taken care of and happy and they are all so cute. What a great place!!!!!!
It's always a great time at heritage park zoo! Friendly knowledgeable staff and nice exhibits make for a relaxing and fun afternoon.
Amazing place to visit Fun for familes
A great little experience for the family.
Very friendly, fun, and knowledgeable staff! Clean zoo and all the animals were out and about. It was a fun experience! Our friends got married here and the staff was very accommodating and friendly!
I took my three year old granddaughter here for our first NaNa and her day. I love that there's a playground with a few picnic tables there. We would go see the animals then go to the playground. Then more animals then back to the playground. The temperature wasn't to hot so the animals were out. Over all a great day!
Small zoo, but the staff is AMAZINGLY friendly and helpful. The animals are obviously well cared for, and cared about. They offer motorized wheelchairs for visitors. I recommend looking up the feeding times for the tiger and the bear!
Its a conservation center run solely on donations and very inexpensive admission fees as well as gift shop purchases. Its a wonderful place to honor the creatures in this world. To see a place that can just bring you peace and remind us that we are not alone as well as to allow us to see the miracles of this world. To let us also know that animals need help too. The drive is calming and the walk is peaceful. These babies all look and may seem tame however they are still wild and to be cherished as you would cherish yourself. A piece of nature is here and they are cared for very well and the keepers enjoy their time at the park and it is evident. Some of the regular staff could use a dose of class and respect but all in all an amazing place to visit.
We love that this a smaller zoo; it's manageable to see all the animals in a short amount of time (without feeling like you've run a marathon by the end). The staff was friendly, the kids liked the playground, and the family membership was reasonably priced.
We came for the Zoolights and were amazed at how many animals we got to see even though it was night time, and the docents walked around with us and gave us information about the animals and helped us locate them in their enclosures! I got to see lynxes, mexican grey wolves, a different kind of leopard than I'd ever seen, and some cool reptiles! A great way to spend an evening. I'd love to come back during the day too!
Beautiful place. I love the javelinas.
So fun, will go back!

Very friendly staff, and lots of great animals to see.
Took the family on dollar day. The park is easy enough to walk through in a short amount of time. Plenty of animals to see and learn about. The park also offered an area for the children to play and the parents to relax in the shade.
Awesome little zoo. Small but with some hills, 4 because I had to push Grammy in a wheel chair lol
It was fun to see the animals, but we spent about and hour there and were able to see everything. It is extremely small with not a lot to do. It's great if you want a quick outing
Great place to visit with family. Also $10 to go in? Great deal. They run a really clean place, and the staff its amazing, also animals habitat were clean and all animals were there. The family loved it, definitely coming back
The staff was so kind and went out of their way to make our experience enjoyable! The animals seemed so loved and taken care of and the price of admission/prices in the gift shop were very fair. The whole family had a wonderful time!
Lots of animals, and got to see the Bear have lunch.
I love supporting rescue zoos and everyone is very kind
Very comfortable place to visit and walk around on a sunny day
Great place. I love that the animals have all been rescued. Thank you for doing what you do!
Wonderful little zoo, great for kids!
"Augustus" I love that damn bear.
Friendly knowledgable staff. Small zoo but really nice set up. The animals were all very active Shash the bear is amazing.
Great place to wander through whether single, married or work a family. Special serene place. Staff genuinely care about all of our animals there .
A nice, smaller zoo. You can get up close to many animals. Mountain lion, tiger, and bears. Oh my.
Awesome place. A lot of really cool animals to see
Heritage is a rescue zoo. The animals here can't be released back into the wild. We caught the bear feeding and Gus put on quite a show!
Love this place. They nurse animals back to health on our area. We contribute to zoo.
Cute little rescue zoo. Nice way to spend a few hours!
It's a rescue zoo, which makes it way more awesome. The signs tell you the animal's names which let's them feel like family. It isn't large, but it is great.
A very lovely place. Staff were really nice and friendly. Seemed as though a lot of the animals were rescued. Loved the children's area!
Very Nice Experience. Lots of different animals. Nice, big, natural enclosures. It was especially nice to see the Galapagos turtles up close. Love the goats. They came to me for petting. One of them raises one of their legs when you pet him. It's adorable! The large peacock that roams the property is gorgeous! A wonderful place to visit.
It was small, but nice. Had some cool animals and a fun play structure. Our 4 year old daughter had fun checking out the animals & playing there as well.
What a great place! So nice to see all these animals so well taken care of! And the docents are so knowledgeable!
Our family had a great time here! We would definitely visit again.
It's nice to see the animals up close and support the sanctuary/rescue.
I loved this pace more than an actual zoo, my kids as well. You can tell the animals are happy, bring there for the few hours that we were I believe we got see every animals actually personality. From Sasha (the spoiled boy bear) who has lived far longer than the average brown bear (24 or 25 years old) eating his favorite meal, actually seeing bobcats sway their tails back and forth in anticipation for meal time. Without realization my daughter was eating cookies outside the sleeping raccoon enclosure, next thing we knew there were three little hands poking out of the fence hoping she'd share with them. The absolutely BEAUTIFUL mountain lion, I think her name is Jade and she just knows she's a pretty girl the way she stays perched up on her rock in her enclosure. I don't remember everybody's name but they all had one. There's a bald eagle who loves to playfully talk back and a little bitty blind owl who talks back with the attitude you expect from the eagle lol. I do the sheep have something against me because I coughed and startled them and they just stared at me for the rest of the time I was by their enclosure. Oh, can't forget about the beautiful peacocks that walk around the sanctuary like they in the place. I could go on and on and on about this sanctuary but I still won't be doing it any justice. If you're thinking about going, quit thinking and just do it. It's real by a lot of great people that love their jobs and you can tell by how happy the animals are. I would be a regular if I didn't love 10 hours away
Very nice, neat and clean
Great little zoo, good for younger children but a wonderful way to spend a morning. They have lots of play equipment and a large fun sandbox that will keep toddlers busy for hours. Nice, friendly, knowledgeable staff as well.
Fun place for kids, & nature lovers & animals
Loved this little place! Great ppl doing great things!
Animals who are abandoned, hurt, and abused are provided sanctuary here. They are beautiful taken care of. Staff exhibit caring and love to these special animals, which they absolutely deserve. It is extremely clean and it is quite obvious that all are well taken care of. We enjoyed our walk, throughout this park. Max, the beautiful parrot, delighted us with a warm "hello!"
The prices are reasonable here and most of the animals were out, even in the snow. It was great seeing a wide range of animals and creatures, especially the tiger.
Great place to see the animals up close! We had an impromptu visit on our way out of town and sure glad we stopped here. While some complain the zoo is a little small, the entrance fee is minimal and it was the perfect size for a couple hour visit. If you're in the area, I'd definitely recommend setting aside some time to drop in!
This is a really sweet little park here in Prescott. Lots of animals that are very active, the zoo is kept really clean and they even have a playground and small splash pad. The petting zoo area has a sand box too. The tiger and bears are our favorite. Catching one of the feedings is really cool too :)
This is a unique zoo. They are a rescue habitat. Today the weather was perfect so all the animals were out. Kids love this place . Dont expect fancy enclosures, but do expect a great place for animals who at no fault of their own..found a place to live.
Really well kept. Small but well worth the price.
Prescott's only zoo. Great volunteers. Good cause!
This is one of those must visit places. We were thrilled be in this wonderful place. There were peacocks strutting around the park. The exhibits were clean and well maintained. They combined domestic and wildlife exhibits which the kids really loved. The gift shop was also very nice and not too pricey. You should really go.
Absolutely amazing zoo the whole family loved it
Super cute little zoo. Very adorable. I kind of liked that we were able to see everything in under 2 hours. We even took our time, stopping to say hello to all the animals. We got to see the tiger eat lunch.
Great facility and staff. We have held our daughter's last two birthday parties here and she loved them.
Great for a family day.
Big selection of animals, most of the big cats can be seen around noon after being fed, it's a fun walk through, it's not too short but it's not ridiculously long either, there's a play area for younger children and a petting zoo type area
The family loved it, definitely coming back
Simply amazing!! Quite surprised at the amount of exhibits in this zoo as it's smaller than others but it was very nice. The knowledge of the employees was appreciated as was the information provided on each sign. Every animal display explained where they came from which is knowledge normally not shown in zoos! Can't wait to go back & possibly adopt an animal!
I will definitely be returning, I had a great time!
A nicely sized zoo--not too big, with several things for the kiddies, including a petting zoo. Makes for a pleasant, half-day, family visit.
Loved everything about this sanctuary. You get much closer to the animals than you would at your typical zoo, and each one seems happy and healthy.
We really enjoy coming to this zoo. It is great to bringa picnic with the kids and let them play on the playground and in the sprinkler to cool off after walking around and checking out the animals. We like coming here enough we bought a zoo membership so we can come all the time and enjoy our picnics together. The nice thing about a family membership is you can get up to 5 people into the zoo free and it makes no difference if they are kids or adults. So it makes it a nice grown up trip as well.
We love this place. Short enough to fit in between other stops and the animals are up close and easy to view.
Nice little zoo... very small but still was good little get away day trip from phoenix!
I saved baby skunks and took them to the zoo for them to raise. The accepted them with love. Thank you
My wife and I just left there and we both agreed it was actually a terrific little zoo. Small enough to get through in about an hour or so but they had enough animals to see. All animals looked really healthy and lively compared to others we have visited.
Always a great time... went last night for Halloween and plan on going again next year. The staff were on their game and made it fun. The animals were out and active. Truly was a great time. Lots of candy handed out and looking forward to going again.
Small zoo but very fun. Staff was very friendly. My favorite part was watching the big black bear eat.
Loved the size of this park. Not too overwhelming like some. Most of the animals who live here have names & stories along with the info on the posted placards--a nice touch! Only downside is price of admission.
Cute animals. Low cost. Very peaceful. Worth the drive from metro phoenix.
Kids from Willow Creek CS loved it! Miss the tiger, many cages empty, didn't see water bowls, maybe inside sleeping areas?
This is a small but enjoyable zoo with a play area for children. Discounted admission for seniors, military etc, free for “under 3.” Viewing of birds and other animals is reasonably “close up” so you can clearly see them much better than venues in which the enclosures are expansive and the animals somewhere in the distance. While smaller enclosures are sometimes cause for controversy these were not “tiny” or cramped. This zoo is also a “rescue zoo” providing shelter and care for as many as 200 animals per year.
This is a wonderful place to go with the kids or just for a stroll. The paths are easy to get around and it takes about 2 hours to look and see everything unless you want to spend more time in the petting zoo or in the play area. I recommend buying a family membership so you support this fine place and can visit as often as you want.
I went here with my family on Mother's day and we all loved it! The staff was so friendly and very informative. They explained a lot about the Sanctuary and how they acquire their animals. I found it especially interesting about the animals' diets and how they make the food for them. It's so great that all of these animals are rescues and we will definitely be back in the future. It also really cool how there are peacocks and chickens running around freely.
Went there for a kids birthday party and it was great !! we had plenty of shade and the kids really enjoyed all the animals and being able to cool down in the splash pad a big bonus walk around a bit cool off walk some more repeat lol
Super cute zoo! We came here after staying the night in downtown Prescott, and I didn’t expect a lot since it seemed small BUT never in my life have I been so close to a bear! I could almost touch him while he was eating a mango. Also the first time I ever heard how vocal and LOUD tortoises can be. I was really surprised by this little sanctuary and left happy knowing all the animals have been rescued from bad situations.
Its is a small zoo, well kept and very clean
Cool small zoo perfect walk distance for young children
Visited in Aug 2018. Considering its small size, has some pretty impressive animals! Loved how close you can get to them. Will look forward to supporting their efforts.
Amazing place for kids
Perfect for young kids! We got a membership cause we don't spend too much time when we go, but would like to come back multiple times to see everything :)
We enjoyed it, we were greeted by beautiful peacocks, roaming the park freely. The tiger was amazing, the bear, monkeys and it wasn't a journey to tour but just enough to entertain. Loved it
Went there with a fairly large group and we all had a blast! The people working and volunteering there were all very nice and helpful.
Great variety of animals to see, and everyone there is super friendly
Great animals and pictures!
I love being able to see the animals and not having to travel all the way to phoenix
Surprisingly impressed by the amount of animals there were. Every encounter is very up close and personal as well. Definitely got our money's worth!
I learned alot fo stuf i did not know befor.
Worth the stop, but not $10. the tiger had died a month ago. (Probably because of living conditions) Couldn't see the bears or the lions and the bald eagle looked about 1 step away from death. go there if you want to occupy your children or have nothing else to do if the fishing is bad at Willow lake.
This was my first visit to the zoo. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! It was nice and clean. The animals were so very close up. And the variety was very nice. I liked that there the staff and volunteers were out and about talking to all the visitors. Telling stories about the different animals. I really had a great time. I plan to go back and visit alot!
Great smaller zoo with some rare animals. We saw most of the animals even on a 90 degree day. Watching the black bear was great. Tge bald eagle they have an an albino rattle snake is worth seeing. Such a great time.
Wonderfull little zoo
Wonderful animal sanctuary in a beautiful setting
I was planning to be a volunteer, but had to drop out due to hospitalization and other health issues. They are doing a fantastic job to enrich the lives of children. I wish them the best and hope to return when I can.
WE LOVE TO VISIT THIS PLACE. EVERY YEAR WE COME BACK TO CHECK IN AND SEE HOW ALL THE ANIMALS ARE DOING.
Great sanctuary for injured animals. It's small, great for kids, and a reasonable price.
