Love the Montgomery Zoo! They have all the animals and the exhibits are great!! The reason I gave it a 4 star and not a 5 (because the zoo over all deserves a 5) is because of the pricing. For me, my husband and our two toddlers to get in it costs $60.
It was good and they tried to cool things off with the misters on the walkways, but the animals were still resting so much this morning from the heat we didn't get to view very many. Some were worried about the thunderstorm coming up as well. As always a clean park and we enjoyed an educational talk as well.
Friendly staff, excluding the Overlook Cafe. The property was clean, small, but my children loved it and had a blast. They have a lot of events going on and the animals seem really well taken care of. We love going here and will continue to go back. I'm going to assume the Overlook Cafe experience was because of how busy it was, but I'll likely never visit the cafe again.
An extremely nice zoo, well.laid out. They bring some of the animals out for hands on experience. You won't be disappointed.
The parakeet cove is really cool and fun - it's like a petting zoo for birds. There are missing labels on many of the exhibits though.
All of the enclosures are WAY too small! Also, I didn't see a single thing, in any of the enclosures, to keep the animals mentally stimulated and occupied during the day. It was heart-breaking.
This isn't a huge place but it's packed with a lot of info and the amazement on kids' faces (big and small) is worth the trip. It's as good as you're going to get unless you drive to Chicago to the Field or DC for the Smithsonian. Better yet, it also covers our region even more in depth than those guys! And it's small enough not to exhaust toddlers. I've NEVER seen a child bored in this place and I've been here a lot! Truly captivating and educational.
We went to the zoo for zoo days. It was great to have all the extra stuff to do. We really enjoyed the zoo and all the animals. My girls really had fun at the playground too, that is a fantastic provision for the tikes. I felt like there could have been a little more signage to direct visitors to restrooms, the cafe, and the different continents that are represented in the zoo. I also enjoyed seeing the roaming peacocks.
I love this zoo. Always so clean and the animals look so healthy. My fav are the giraffe and u can geed them. The added a new exhibit which is cool as well. Its an indoor museum of animals mostly bears and other larger fish.
Smaller than ATL zoo but you know what, no Atlanta traffic, no Atlanta crowds and no Atlanta prices.
Had a great time here for my son's first time at a zoo! He really enjoyed it. Lots of different animals. Really enjoyed the petting zoo and the giraffe!
Love this zoo! Lots of animals and a big playground. The train ride is a nice break from walking and the sky lift gives amazing views! The petting zoo is fun, but touching the stingrays is the highlight of the day for my kids.
Great place my kids loved it
Listen y'all need to spruce it up a little. I would appreciate it. But the children liked it so that's cool. We will be back this summer. KIDZ VISION. Ps: The rest rooms need just a little more attention. Thanks
It was a fun day. The guy working/volunteering the giraffe encounter was RUDE but other than that, it was great! I was thankful for the shower mists around the zoo to cool off on this hot day. They definitely need a 2nd person to work in the gift shop. We waited awhile in line but just changed our mind because it was taking too long.

I took my 3yr old and her 2 cousins they HAD a Blast! The animals were very active and the museum held thier attention.

I loved this zoo; they had some unique enclosure designs, the animals looked healthy and well cared for, there was some great enrichment, and the keepers were all willing to chat. I also loved that they had the attached nature center, which really let you delve deeper into the natural history. 10/10 would visit again
We took the kids here for Easter and we all had a blast. The chairlift is definitely worth a ride. It gives you a perspective like no other.
They need to reinvest the gate admission into the zoo.it is run down. Enclosures are unkempt, train conductor at least had good taste in music. Very disappointed. We love Birmingham Zoo. This one was a let down. $75.00 wasted.
It is small, but perfect for our small town.
It was great they had lots of animals for me and my friends to enjoy! We loved the snakes and hippos, but they need more otters and animals in the petting zoo.
This is a wonderful zoo. The animals look healthy and happy. It's a great place to spend a couple of hours on a pretty day.
Kids loved the Mann Museum just as much as zoo. Staff at Mann Muesam(where I purchased my tickets) was just about the friendliest I could ever deal with. Children especially loved the stingrays.
Admission prices are a little high, there needs to be some improvements made to a few animal habitats, food kiosks, paddle boats, giraffe feeding, skylift, alligator exhibit, and train rides should be available from opening until closing, except during bad weather. Golf cart rentals available to donor members would be a nice addition.
Had so much fun got to ride the train had a great time alot of exercise good food , beautiful animal.great staff.
Its a good place to go with ur family
Very interactive. Loved Stingray Bay. Kids had a great time.
Always an joyful and relaxing when I visit the Montgomery Zoo especially when you're with someone special.
New animal additions. Great parking. Inexpensive. Fun place to take the Family.
My family and I have always loved & enjoyed coming to the Montgomery Zoo but this past time that we came, which was on November 17, 2018 on a Saturday was not so great. Don't get me wrong my family and I had an amazing time together but we all were very disappointed and dissatisfied with the Montgomery Zoo. The Montgomery Zoo has always had one of the best exhibits for the animals compared to mos6 Zoos but this time that was NOT the case whatsoever. The exhibits were awful & they were not kept up at all like they usually are; we were very surprised by this!! For example(s):: •The mother Hippo & her baby was in the old Alligator exhibit & the exhibit for ONE, was extremely small for the two of them. TWO, the water was no where near being full; the water wasn't even at the halfway point! THREE, They had absolutely NO shelter to go to at all. This isn't even the half of the issues we seen & encountered!!
This is a great zoo. We come every year and the kids love it.
Best zoo ever! A fantastic example of a well cared for facility. The sky lift ride is a must. It was very well placed, you get a wonderful over view of all the animals. The Mann museum was expansive & the exhibits were great. The cafe was run with efficiency & the restrooms were clean.
Amazing Zoo with a lots of animals that you always can see. Lots of fun for whole family. You can have a lunch, take a ride in mini train or skylift. Absolute fun is also the stingray Bay where you can interact with life sting rays. And the cherry on the top of the cake is museum of stuffed animals where seeing some animal in real size just next to you is just breathtaking❤️
Had a blast. Our son is mentally challenged and everyone, especially the lady that ran the train was awesome. Thank you all....
We enjoy taking our kids to the zoo. Easy to get in and park. My kids enjoy their train and the facilities are always clean.
The exhibits all seem very natural and open and there were only a few animals that were not out. There is a very fun giraffe feeding experience for only a few dollars and a sky lift ride for 2 passengers available as well.
Overall the zoo was a great experience. Most of the animals were very easy to see from many angles. The zoo was well kept and the staff was very friendly. The reptile exhibit was subpar and in need of work. the Skylift was nice but expensive at $5 per head no discount for youth. If you want to ride the train after you are in the property, be aware that you need exact change which is $3 per head.
I wish we could visit more often. Love it there!
Love coming to the zoo but it looks like it's being neglected the grass in the animals pins seem to be over grown the two restrooms I used one of them was super Hot and the other one dirty .to me the best thing at the zoo is the sky lift but had to hold my legs up for most of the ride from the trees being to tall. but will be back
Nice for a small zoo. Not overcrowded. My daughter really liked it. Ride the skylift chair ride.
For players of PokemonGo, there are tons of pokestops in the zoo and maybe a gym or two.
Great Zoo. But I already miss the giraffe
Wonderful.place to visit lot better than zoo atlanta
First time visiting Mann wildlife museum, must say wasn't disappointed. If you're taking a trip to zoo make sure you visit the museum as well.
This is a great zoo! It has a play area, small train, park, restaurant, and bird sanctuaries. The family pass for a year is a great deal, I think it’s around $100 and you can come as much as you want for 12 months after you purchase it.
There is so much to see and do! From eating with peacocks to touching stingrays and riding over the zoo in a ski lift. Not to mention seeing all the animals and listening to the zookeeper talks. Highly recommend for all ages!!
I have an annual membership with train and if you have kids it's well worth it. The eatery the have is mediocre with a little high prices but not too bad. Plus you get a good outlook while you're eating with the kids.
We are happy Members here! Great local place to.take your kiddos!
It's always a fun time at the Zoo!! Even when it rains!
Always a great zoo to visit. One of my complaints is the cost of treats for the parakeets. My kids always love feeding them, and we would, but $2 for a piece of food the size of a fingernail? No way. And there is nowhere to get a drink except at the front of the zoo. Both the restaurant, which is always super slow and crowded, and the gift shop are close to the front. You need drink machines in other places.
Very good fun place to go for the family
IT WAS A LOT OF FUN AND THEY HAD GAME'S FOR THE SCHOOL CHILDREN TO PLAY WITH!!!!
We absolutely loved the zoo and sky lift ride is a must. Not too exspensive but the gift shop will get you lol! We had a great time!
Loved this zoo. I like how it's set up by continent. We went on a weekday morning and it was so quiet you could really interact with the animals. My daughter really liked feeding the giraffes (extra fee). It took us about 3 hours but we took our time at each exhibit.
I thought this place had an amazing amount of animals they had African lions, rhinoceros giraffes they had an exhibit that was was named after one of the benefactors the Mann Exhibit this had hundreds of animals that have been preserved through Taxidermy showing them like in a natural setting and then they had a complete description of how they lived and what their predators were it was just an amazing display. They had a Sky Lift you could tour the complete zoo and the train that's a great time to take your kids out to
Such a wonderful zoo. We had a blast. Here's some pics my wife took there!!
It is a small zoo, but a lot of fun. Plus, our kids love the train rides and the playground. Get the membership.
Been going here since i was a small child, when it opened. Now I take my kids here, and I come all the way from Massachusetts. We came later in the day and because of the lateness in season there wasn't as much as during peak season. The elephants were lined up to go inside so we didn't see much of them. My kids (7&3) most enjoyed the monkeys. The monkeys were lively and entertaining. Kids especially liked the sting ray exhibit. Being able to touch them was amazing.
I only came as a Field Trip for my Biology Portfolio Project which I received a 81 on. I saw new animals and had fun messing around with my group as we took pictures and laughed along the way.
Good place for a day trip, baby hippo was neat
I went with the family and my brother's family and we all had a blast. The entrance fee is a good value for the time in entertainment and includes the Mann Museum. The highlights included petting the rays, the elephant exhibit & talk and interacting with the parakeets. Highly recommend!
It's a terrible world, with some very hateful people,But when you hire them to work in a place where you interact with people all day,You as management, shouldon't really rethink that, you lose business!#!#!# I loved this place,my husband and I live in Gadsden Al,we would take a trip to this zoo at lest 3 times a year,But NEVER AGAIN!! This is why- They have a STINGRAY TANK,and in this tank you can but food ,feed and touch the stingrays, well for some crazy reason they have a blow fish in with them,I was feeding the stingray when the blow fish came up to my haND and just stayed,so I feed it then touched it,this one women who was working in this room, started screaming at me,DON'T TOUCH THE BLOW FISH!# OKAY THAT'S FINE BUT WHEN YOU START BEING MEAN TO THE CHILDREN, NOWAY! She better be glad they were not mine, police would have got to visit the zoo this day ! This was on July 1, 2019 My Name- Marie Battles Thank you for your time
Great small zoo. Train ride fun
Wasn't hardly any animals out and they charge way to much. Iv been here a couple of times when it was a pretty day and they would have most of the animals put Up. I do love the fact they have sting rays you can pet. That was awesome.
A wonderful experience so pretty soo, well care animals so big and the workers are super extremely kind I loved it and the kids as well
Zoo boo is the best!! Worth the money and experience!!
We enjoyed a great day with family! Food is a little over priced but all and all.. worth checking out
We visit this zoo an average of once a year and really enjoy it and like the way the exhibits are more natural than some zoos but this time we were all disappointed because some of the exhibits were closed and animals moved inside already by early afternoon! Totally missed the chimps which were the animals my girls were most excited to see... also the spider monkey exhibit was closed which is understandable if they need to do repairs but some of this looked like routine maintenance like weedeating the grass and it was being done during visiting hours so we missed some of the most entertaining animals! The petting zoo was closed which was also very disappointing and when I asked a worker about it she said they were understaffed!!! I say we should pay half price admission if we only get half service!!! Did love feeding the giraffes n train ride was good like normal!!!
Such an awesome zoo and we are thankful to have this wonderful attraction in Montgomery.
Best zoo in Alabama. If you're looking for a good outing with the kids or just an animal lover, the Montgomery Zoo is a must see. Pick a cool day for more active animals. Also take a tour through the Mann Museum for an experience like no other. You will love it.
Nice stuffed animals and pondering questions could be a lil more interactive for the cost of entering zoo.
I had a great time relearning about all the different animals and how they were brought into the montgomery zoo
Fun family outing. Memberships are very reasonable if you are going to go several times throughout the year.
This is a great zoo! It has a play area, small train, park, restaurant, and bird sanctuaries. The family pass for a year is a great deal, I think it’s around $100 and you can come as much as you want for 12 months after you purchase it.
Clean, well staffed good supply of animals it's a good zoo
For the price I was not impressed. The animals look sad. The water moats surrounding were horrible. The elephant was eating hay and chasing it with green murky water. Some water was nasty brown. Made me think of zika virus. The train ride was just that . Lots of bushes and a pond. Most of the animals were in lock down. I did enjoy the Mann museum. The spray mists felt good.
The Montgomery Zoo is great outing for you and your family. Take the to time read the bios of each animal at each exhibit...quite informative! There is a nice playground for the children to have fun as well.
They say that it's all happening at the ZOO! I believe it! Get the family, friends, tag a longs, and dates and enjoy! Military discount. Seniors discount. Under two is free. No excuses!
Very nice! The animals actually come right up to the glass. I thought they would be hid because it was so hot but no they were out. Will definitely be back.
There is so much to see and do! From eating with peacocks to touching stingrays and riding over the zoo in a ski lift. Not to mention seeing all the animals and listening to the zookeeper talks. Highly recommend for all ages!!
Very nice Zoo, alot of new animal exhibits being made & upgraded, wonderful family outing. They also have seasonal events, ballet in the zoo, zoo boo, Christmas light tour. Sometimes for everyone.
This was the second zoo trip with our kids, but the first at the Montgomery Zoo. We arrived before they opened, but the line was already backed up to the road. There were several school groups attending the zoo that day. No bother. We were still through the line and into the zoo faster than my 1 year old changes his attention. The playground is nice, clean, and in good repair. Our 3 year old loved it. The train needs to be scrapped and redesigned. We took the train ride and saw zero animals. It just went through some areas of the zoo that are not open to the public. But there was nothing to look at except an empty pond. Huge disappointment there. Other than that, it was what we would expect. Friendly employees always willing to help. The animals appeared well taken care of. All in all, we had a good time.
It was a nice place to take your kids to let them learn and see new things. I would recommend you to go here if you not its very kid friendly place.
Great place for kids.
We had a great time! The Zoo is showing its age but honestly I'm surprised its going as strong as it is in this area. The ticket lady was super friendly and helpful. On the other hand the resturant workers were basically worthless. They were all sitting around when we got there and yelled to the back for someone else to help us. The girl who came up to help was not interested in doing so. The packaged strawberry shortcake was GROSS, go figure. I can't take points off of the zoo for the lack of good, efficient workers though. That's the majority of the minimum wage workers in this area anyways. But, all in all we plan on going back and I think it's being run as well as it can be under the circumstances!
Very cool place. Animals were out and get very close to some of the animals.
Feeding the giraffes was amazing!!! Great way to kick off the summer for my kiddos!
My family enjoyed the visit...even invested in the family membership! The staff that we met were super friendly!! We plan to take a trip to visit again soon.
I have an annual membership with train and if you have kids it's well worth it. The eatery the have is mediocre with a little high prices but not too bad. Plus you get a good outlook while you're eating with the kids.
Always love taking the Grandblessings to the Montgomery Zoo! The new stingray exhibit was a hit with the twins!! They had fun feeding and feeling them! If you haven't been to the zoo lately, make sure all the adults on the membership card have a picture ID with them!
Great City zoo. One of the best Tiger enclosures I've seen. Very walkable and a very fun train and playground.
I've been here all my life, and never took the time to walk thru the Mann Wildlife Musuem until Zoo Weekend of this year. Extremely awesome exhibit. If you haven't seen it, you should really check it out.
We have had a membership to the Montgomery Zoo for the last several years and we always enjoy going there. The train ride is a big hit with our children. There is an exhibit where you may feed giraffes, which is also a hit! Lots of activities to do and a very nice playground and picnic area.
Was so much fun and very clean for my boys field trip!
Love how smooth and easy it is to get around and love the animal exhibits
Had a great time here. My son enjoyed being able to feed the animals.
Not 2nd Ammendment friendly.
Loved it! Way better than the ones in California.
A very nice zoo. Wonderfully small so you can see everything without being completely worn out. Had an amazing stingrat petting tank and the regular exhibits had very happy animals that would come up to the glass. Also, it was a warm day but there was a lot of shade cover on the paths and misters to cool you off. Also had an awesome playground for kids :)
Amazing zoo. Large easily viewed enclosures. Green grass where animals are kept. Shaded trails. Feeding the giraffe was amazing. Baby pygmy Hippo. Super friendly stingrays. Thr Mann museum was great. Loved everything
Had an incredible time! They have military discounts for active duty members. The zoo has Lion and Tigers and Bears... Oh my! It's a large zoo and I recommend this attraction for any family or person looking for such wide varieties of animals!
Need to come back when weather cooler because animals were hidden in shade couldn't see many of them. Was still fun day.
I hurt my foot an I couldn't hardly walk an she offered me a wheelchair I was so grateful
A fun Saturday afternoon. Clean and well kept. The animals were fun to see...the Museum was pretty cool
The Montgomery Zoo is a great place to go out for a day! It's not the biggest zoo, but they do a very good job of making it feel larger than it is! Children 2 and younger can get in and participate in most activities for free!
The family had a great time.
This is the best zoo i have ever been to! You really get to get up close to the animals and there is so much to do! I highly suggest going especially with your little ones!
Excellent place to visit. I wish I can visit again.
Had a fantastic visit, especially since it was off-season. Plenty of great picture opportunities! Over all had a wonderful trip!!
Good day to see all the animals! Not crowded.
Loved it and our grandbaby ❤️ it too going again when it's cooler weather
Had a great time ad usual. Make some time to see the Mann Museum. Preserved animals you may never see up close.
This is a great zoo! It has a play area, small train, park, ski lift, restaurant, and bird sanctuaries. Our kids love coming here! The family pass for a year is a great deal, I think it’s around $100 and you can come as much as you want for 12 months after you purchase it.
Had a great experience with my kids. The entry fee didnt include some attractions, so we didnt get to see them. Overall, had a good experience.
My grandchildren loved our visit. They were amazed be feeding the giraffes!
Small but all the exhibits are easy to see and the animals were out for easy viewing and photograph friendly
Zoo was really nice and clean, great variety of animals. Good family oulet with great parking
Best time. We loved it
Great place, loved the animals and the food and drinks were yummy, just has some expensive extra activities.
Wonderful Zoo! Very clean and friendly. Lots of animals to see! Shady walkways.
One of our best vacation experiences. Feeding the giraffes a must!
My boys and I had an amazing time. The animals are absolutely beautiful ❤️
This is a nice little zoo. If you are looking for a quick day trip with your kids this is a place I would recommend. They have a skylift, a train, you can feed giraffes, there is something for everyone.
We had a great visit today! My kids really enjoyed touching the sting rays.
Brought all 5 grandkids here, spent several hours here. Great zoo. Kids loved it!
I had a wonderful time.. but hated to find out that you guys no longer rent the paddle boats.. We were really looking foward to it
This is a great place to spend half a day with the kids. Lots of animals, a reptile museum, and even a stingray petting area. Plenty of shade too.
Smaller than Atlanta but, bigger that Birmingham. This zoo had so much charm and character. The train and sky ride were extra but well worth the money. We had an absolute blast feeding the giraffe and exploring the exhibits. My daughter also loved the park and petting zoo area and it was a nice spot to step away from the traffic and relax.
We have fun every time we go...and we literally go every week! People are so nice and kids love to play on the playground in between visits to the animals.
I go here alot, but they dont keep the parakeets safe enough. I saw one that a child jumped on
You pay to get in but everything else is paid for separately. You can't walk around with any water or nothing. The food court is expensive. A bottle of water was like $4. You can't bring anything out the cafe. They don't let you know when a animal isn't gonna be there. You find out once you walk up to the exhibit. We had to wait 20 mins to see the elephants cause they went back inside. Its very hot but you can't have any beverages in your hand.
The Montgomery Zoo is fabulous. We fed giraffes, parakeets and stingrays. It's well laid out, and attractive with lots of shade so even a hot summer day was bearable.
We always have a great time here the kids love going there and they learn alot as well. the staff had some animals out and told us all about them and was happy to answer questions about them i hope to go back for years to come
Love this zoo! It needs a little TLC to clean up some areas but I absolutely love this place and the friendly staff!
They have a large collection of animals and all of them are well maintained. We loved the zoo train safari and sting ray encounter gallery.
Very nice been there couple of time.
Took the grandchildren to the zoo today and had a great day. Enjoyed a senic train ride and had a great lunch.
Great zoo. Love the animals.
It was amazing as always. Our daughters first trip! Thank you Montgomery Zoo!
We always enjoy this zoo. Very clean and the exhibits are top notch.
It's so cool. Kids loved Sting Ray Bay
Zoo was a big let down its like they just dont care about the up keep off the zoo
It is a great place to visit and take the kids.
Came with a field trip. Class loved seeing the animals. Thankfully we brought sack lunches for the kids. The adults tried to use the cafeteria but it was so packed we didn't have the time to waste standing in line.
I love going to the zoo. Especially since they got Stingray Bay. The Mann museum is very nice. Since I got my zoo membership I go more often. My little nieces love to go and look at the rhino and snakes.
Nice place to go with kids. The Zoo needs to be updated by maintenance. I saw a couple areas that needed repairing. But, in all a great experience.
Fun place but daughter fell in bathroom because of puddles in floor
I love that the zoo has sensory bags for kids with sensory processing disorder. Between the sensory bags, the signs that warn you of places that are too loud, the picnic areas, the great diversity of animals, and the petting zoo, my three autistic kids had a really great time!
A little pricey not enough employees on hand walking around to guide you around the zoo for questions or help need more vending machines ways to get something to drink none of the water fountains work. The stingray was awesome
My mom has dementia & doesn’t always engage in activities now. When I’ve taken her to the zoo, she seems to enjoy it & has interacted some. Also sometimes saying what some animals are. She has days that she’s very aware of things & I can tell the zoo has been good for her. You can rent the motorized carts for $22 & they do have a speed adjustment on them. Easy
Great for everyone. Individual. Families. Groups. Educational. Fun. Lots to do! Train ride. Sky lift. Food while watching the animals in the exhibits. Play ground. Petting zoo.
The zoo was great. Prices were decent. They didn't have enough animals to see.
Great zoo. Go early. The animals are more active.
This Is one of Many Zoo and Safari stops we have made the last 2 years..this Zoo unfortunately is a continuation of the blight which seems to be endemic in this once great city...there is a look of drought everywhere with dead or dying vegetation and feeble attempts to present plant life which matches the regional theme. Exotic birds of Brazil (my birthplace) are in small cages. They need flight aerodromes like most other theme zoo locations. Captivity should never resemble capital punishment
Fun.lots of beautiful animals and people usually don't visit the Mann museum.but it's really interesting and if you have the chance you should really visit it.
One of our favorite places to spend a Saturday. I have been to many zoos across the country and this one is very nice. Clean animal environments with well kept kritters. The skylift is great fun, and the train is a nice alternative if you don't like high places. There is also a nice playground for the kids with lots of fun things to play on. If you plan on eating, I suggest waiting until after your trip and eat somewhere in Montgomery as the zoo food, like most, is overpriced and not very good. It is a zoo, food is not why you go. So plan a day, head out to the zoo in Montgomery, AL and have some fun.
I think its affordable $65 covered myself, Husband 5y/o and 2y/o our package included giraffes, Train ride . The train ride was boring we rode through wooded area there are no animals along train ride . There's only 2 trains the wait apox 15 to 25min we could have did more by excluding train ride . Recommendations: add animals along train ride, add or extend trains for accommodate more passengers .
Loved our time here. brought my three kids ages 1-3. Lots of animals to see, shaded viewing areas, and so much more. Only downfall was the wildly overpriced "restaurant" which had less-than food stall quality food and exaggerated prices. I had been about to take my son's cheeseburger up to complain they forgot to put the meat and cheese on when I realized after separating the bun that the meat and cheese were just tiny slivers so small it that it couldn't even separated the two bun half's from each other. He mainly ate his fries and my food as a result. Our favorite was the bird feeding. The kids loved having the parakeets land on them amd feeding them.
Loved it very clean and nice zoo.
Zoo was great. Well laid out for the acreage. Food was good and friendly staff, however, good prices way too high.
Wow! A hidden gem in Montgomery. The zoo might not be as big or fancy as its rivals but I will tell you, me and my kids saw way more animals here than the Atlanta Zoo. Staff was all very nice and the zoo is thoughtfully laid out. I’d suggest skipping the train ride and opt for the sky chair ride that takes you over some of the animal pens! My kids loved it. We plan on visiting again once it cools off, we went in July and were roasting even in the shade.
The family and I enjoyed our visit.
We had such a awesome time. Touching the stingrays was a treat.
Best zoo around. Many animals to see. Recommend the sky lift. Prices are reasonable
They offer sensory friendly items to borrow in their gift shop area for special needs visitors. They offer weighted blankets, and sound canceling head phones for those who have issues with stimulation overload.
Small but more intimate. My boy looked it better than Birmingham
We had a wonderful time! Some of the exhibits need a little more TLC but overall it was a wonderful trip!
Perhaps I visited on a bad day because the petting zoo portion and stingray exhibit were both closed. My children were very disappointed, especially since it was a field trip. I would give it another shot in the future.
Really a very nice Zoo we was pleasantly surprised. Must see.. we'll be going back soon
Was a very nice day with family of 7, nice weather alot of animal's were out lot of fun. Train ride around park also nice. Enjoyed it , if anyone has not been , you need to go ,you still enjoy it . ☺☺☺
We definitely will not return. It was dirty. I feel it is unsanitary for the animals half of which were filthy as well. Reptile inclosure had mold in places and smelled horrible. Also, in a place where children are walking and exploring all the carts speeding around with employees were concerning. It has definitely went on my list of the worst zoos.
Things I liked: - newly added stingrays - helpful workers - parakeet feeding Things I didnt like: -The animals looked bored -There was a lack of shade for people and animals in cages - no enrichment toys for the animals - lack of animals - lack of clean water for animals -stingray tank needed to be cleaned - not a lot of room for "big cats" to roam around
As a child this was the place to go I even volunteered during the summer. I'm a little heart broken that the zoo appears to have fallen to the wayside. Many of areas are in disrepair and it shows. Love the stingray building and Mr. Wayne is the best. I would gladly volunteer my time and expertise to fix any issues because this place and the animals mean alot to me.
The staff rode really fast near pedestrians in their golf carts. There was an animal in the petting zoo with a hurt paw. The zoo train ride was fun. Many exhibits to look at.
Great experience- smaller than Atlanta zoo, but So Much Better. Animal exhibits are setup so the whole family can see. Giraffe and sting-ray interactions were fun for kids. Lunch was location in center of zoo offers great views of many animals. Sky lift is a nice way to see most animals from another perspective. Will be going back.
Half of the animals wasn't there wasn't worth the money and the people were very rude will not waste my money there ever again
This was my first and last time visiting this zoo. The zoo looks like it's abandoned. We saw maybe 3-4 staff during our entire visit. The reptile exhibit was smelly, and the ceiling panels were open with spider webs all over. You can only see giraffes up close if you pay to feed them-ridiculous!!! The ONLY enjoyable part of our visit was the lion show-staff were friendly and knowledgeable! Sorry, but not worth the price!
The animal living areas are unkept well. Paths are well labeled. They have a chair lift and a train you can ride on to enjoy the layout of the zoo from different perspectives. Friendly and helpful staff.
Looking forward to visiting next month. Thank you for recommending riding the train first.
My family and I very much enjoyed our visit to the zoo. We loved the large arenas that housed the elephants, giraffes, etc. The zoo was clean even though it was a special weekend and overly crowded. Volunteers were everywhere and friendly. Prices for a bottled water seemed way too high. Over $3 for a bottled water. I would recommend this as a family friendly activity.
