REVIEWS OF Stone Tower Winery IN West Virginia

Pam Arguelles

Loved this winery for so many reasons. Two separate places for wine tasting, one with children under 21 other was adults only. Both has plenty of seating options inside and outside. Large portions for tasting and the wines are excellent both red & white. They even have 3 different bubbly wines very well done. Ask for Stacy she was extremely personable and very informative in the over 21 tasting room. Beautiful setting and structures.

Justin McPherson

Stone winery is a fantastic place with awesome people and awesome views. The standard wine tasting is 20 per person and you taste about 7 different wines (3 whites, 4 reds). There are several places to do the standard tasting, but my group chose to go upstairs in the tower. It's a little quieter up there so it's easier to communicate with everyone. Ended up buying a bottle of the 2018 Wild Boar Chardonnay for $28. Their pepperoni and roasted garlic pizza is amazing! It was so good that we had to buy another one. Their best wine to me is the 2016 Wild Boar Sanglier Noble. Check out the pictures I have posted about my experience. Please go to this winery! I'm going back

Rachel Kern

Beautiful winery. We tried a lot of fantastic wines here, and I was pleased to find that none of them were too sweet. There's a nice size barn that you can hand out in, or of you'd rather, there's a great outdoor spring area that looks over the winery. When we went there was a food truck and a BBQ stand. I think they also made pizzas on site.

Sins Of Wanderlust

Winery set among rolling green hiils and makes for a fantastic way to spend a lazy afternoon. One side has a large outdoor space with a tasting room and shop and is kid-friendly. The other building is 21+ only and also has a tasting room and shop. There was a pizza food truck also when we went. All areas are pet-friendly which is awesome. Its gets really busy so come early with your own food/snacks. White and rose wines are great but the reds are average. Polite staff.

Evan Lyons

Horrible. We came with a group of people and they rudely turned us away. I will spend my money elsewhere. I could understand the policy of no large groups, but they said they would make an exception for $200. That sounds like extortion. One person in our group was even a member. I do not believe I have ever been treated so poorly. The manager even belittled our driver. Simply no class whatsoever being rude to people.

Lorena Tello

Beautiful place and ambiance. Wine is expensive compared to other nearby wineries, which offer the same kind of experience.

Chandler Kennell

I'm inexperienced when it comes to plethora of Virginia wineries, but I have to say that I really enjoyed spending my Saturday at Stone Tower Winery. Clean and well kept winery with beautiful views of the surrounding Virginia countryside. They have a place for the kids to hang out too, so this place is great for families.

Mike Otto

Gorgeous views, positive and friendly staff, great wine. I highly recommend coming out for a wine tasting to judge for yourself.

instrumentsponge

Very nice winery! A lot of outside seating. They had a brick oven pizza tent and a French food truck. It was perfect!

Christine Hopkins Connelly

Love the wine and beautiful views to take in! I went on a Saturday and it does get very crowded but it's a great place!

After coming here a handful of times in the past year and even considered having my wedding here. While the scenic views are breathtaking, sadly I'm not impressed by the wines (white, red, or rose). They are a bit too acidic and dry. Although I'm not a fan of the wine, I do enjoy the ambiance (hence 4 stars) with plenty of seating and indoor/outdoor space at the barn and tasting room. You can usually find a seat pretty quickly if you have a small group. The wood fired pizza is good, but a bit too overcooked (the bottom was black). I got Margarita and 1/2 with mushrooms and onions. I would get it again and request that it be less crispy on the bottom. There's usually a food truck here on the weekends. They don't allow outside food anymore and there's a shop that sells cheese and crackers. I also bought a wine infused Conche chocolates made with wine from Stone Tower. Although the dazzling chocolates look like masterpieces and too precious to eat, I couldn't taste the wine in them and they didn't have a strong flavor profile. I can't remember what they tasted like. One thing to note is that every time I've come here, I've always received great service from the wine pourers. The staff members are really friendly and patient, they don't try to rush you. They are passionate about the winery's products. Stone Tower has a great ambiance and good for groups, just not the best wine.

Dawn Coulter

We are members and enjoy most of the varietals. The place has become popular and often has too many people for our tastes, but we like the wine and the member room so we keep coming back.

William Eberhardt

Went on rainy day. Inside was packed and noisy. Winey good. Staff friendly. Volume loud. Outside seating looked nice but unusable. Road a little rough getting to the winery.

Joseph Carter

Beautiful scenery and views. Plenty of space. Supremely nice and helpful. Only complaint was that indoor tables were unlevel, quite annoying for your wine glasses.

Garth Clarke

Great view but you pay for it. The wine was lacking

Justin Kydd

With visually stunning views and wine a plenty, it's difficult to find something not to like. My only complaint would be that I was there for a hosted event by fulcrum properties group and I don't know how the vineyard experience differs from a regular visit. I would consider visiting again without hesitation.

Lexi Wong

Great winery with decent prices and wines. The ciabatta in the marketplace and the pizza from the pizza food truck were both delicious and fresh.

Brendon Thomas

Very beautiful winery with nice amenities but most of their wines are honestly just not good. The whites were especially hard to drink and pricey. All said, I would come back for the scenery alone. Staff was also pretty nice!

Kenneth Wiseman

The reds are a great thing to enjoy. Do the tasting, but a glass, and sit on the deck. A trip worth the miles driven.

Wilson Gullo

beautiful place!

Carl Pruschowsky

The set up here is top notch. Good indoor/outdoor seating. Food is good, staff is always friendly. The wine is overpriced in my opinion but everything else is so good I'm still confident giving it 5 stars. Great for party's or events or just going as a couple.

J. Fitz

Good wine even better scenery! Love this location!

Where do I begin with the horrible experience we had here? I went to stone tower with a group of physicians and other medical professionals on a quiet afternoon. When we arrived there was hardly anyone in the winery and we sat near the fireplace. We had about 10 people with us and so we took a few chairs to sit in. We were then approached by a woman who told us that they usually don’t accept Parties of bigger than 8 people without a reservation and so we could not use the chairs. She was extremely abrasive. Had the facility been busy we would have totally understood and would have accommodated her rude but otherwise reasonable request. That was not the case. Fast forward a few hours and about $400 later, we notified an older woman at the bar that the jug of water was empty and we asked for more. She looked as us as if we had 4 heads and then rudely told us that we could go purchase water in the cafe area. 5 minutes later they refilled the water jug... not sure what her problem was. Later on when it got busier, I noticed that other tables had taken chairs from other tables and didn’t seem to get greeted in the same rude manor as we had. We were also told that we were disruptive to other members when we had done nothing but spend hundreds of dollars at their establishment. I have never before been treated with such blatant disrespect and we will not be going back and will not recommend this facility to anyone. Next year we will gladly spend upwards of 1000 dollars elsewhere.

Scott Campbell

When you don’t have working bathrooms you shouldn’t be open.

AJ P

good wine and some they source from all over the country which i appreciate :) beautiful views

Rafa Gómez

Excelent place to spend the day, great wine though!

Richard Hite

Nice view from the mountain top. Pretty place. To do the wine sampling, you have to stand at a crowded tasting bar. Food selection is limited to ciabatta and cheese from a counter or a wood-fired pizza tent which takes a half hour to get. The sparkling rose was good. Other wines, not so much.

Cindy Hodges

Shannon made our experience the 5 stars given. The wine was excellent, and she made it fun as well. Thank you!

smarti pants

Pros: Rustic place with great views. Wine was good and their glassware was not too expensive. They had wicker chairs outside as well, overlooking the hills. There is an upstairs loft. Cons: they allow children and dogs. I don't have an issue with dogs, but two of them began fighting in the tasting room. No one wants to go to a winery and find a dog hair in their wine glass. If the dogs were only allowed outside, it would've been better.

Kim Judge

Amazing wedding venue!

Kristin Dennie

Beautiful scenery and good wine as well.

Kristina London

Had the BEST time ever with my boyfriend on this trip. The pictures will not do this place justice. We took the Vineyard Wine tour and our tour guide (Dianne was her name I believe) was just perfect! The views are incredible, the wine was amazing, and the staff was absolutely magnificent! Without a doubt the best trip I've taken in a long time! I'll be back very soon.

Tyrone Palaganas

Not family friendly. The winery has beautiful grounds and views, but that is about it. The day we visited it was 110-degrees w/the heat index. There are two tasting rooms, one for adults only and the other for families. The family tasting room is a large barn and was only cooled by a couple of wall units. It was hot and muggy in there. The adult tasting room has three levels of AC bliss. The basement level was massive, empty and had a band. I asked management to allow kids in the basement level because of the heat. Did they? Of course not. Multiple others made similar request and were denied as well. Spend your money somewhere else.

This winery is beautiful!! Every location we were at throughout the day of our wedding was stunning. We got the most beautiful photos because of Stone Tower's scenic view. One of our concerns when choosing a venue was the rain plan, which I'm glad we took into consideration because it did end up raining on our wedding day. Luckily Stone Tower has amazing ceremony locations in case it rains. Ours was in the tank room where they make the wine (so neat!). The best part of the venue though was the staff. They were so helpful throughout the entire wedding process. Would highly recommend!!!

Michael Schoelen

Amazing views, and a beautiful building. Two options: The 21+ side, which is a little more classy; or the family side, which is a little more relaxed and festival-like. Both are good choices, but you can have dogs and your own food on the family side. Downside is that the wine is fairly expensive, but it is good.

The nightmare of this place started AFTER the wine tour. I visited this place with my friends and we all split the bill and had a fine time. When I looked at my credit card statement, I found Stone Tower Winery had charged me for my portion of the bill AS WELL AS, the ENTIRE bill for our large group! This was a mistake on the employee's part because we had all split the bill and paid our portions. I phoned them and let them know and the employee stated she would reach out to the accounting team and have them return my money. I heard nothing back for almost a week and I contacted them again and the same employee told me the accountants were in a meeting and that I would get a call back. I got NOTHING! I emailed them and my emails were completely ignored. I ended up disputing the charge with my credit card company and a week later, I noticed I was refunded only a portion. At this point I was livid! I contacted Stone Tower again and asked them to immediately return the rest of my money and they admitted they made another mistake...blah blah blah....the whole ordeal of chasing them around was completely unnecessary and the fact that they didn't even bother to communicate back with me was so disrespectful. I will never go there again! Mind you...I am STILL trying to resolve this!

John Walker

The views are amazing. Guys, looking for a romantic place to take that special someone, Stone Tower Winery is it. Not to mention the staff is amazing. Oh yeah, the wines are pretty good too. Bring your own eats or pick up a few things there. Wife and I go at least twice a month as one of our date night options

Angie Bailey

Fantastic views and beautiful space and their wines are decent. It does get crowded on the weekends and can get loud. They also have pizza and food trucks on the weekends which is pretty good. Overall, it's definitely worth a visit.

Elliott Axinn

The wine was decent, but nothing special. The place was VERY crowded. It was like a huge party. My wife and I prefer a more relaxing winery experience.

Charles Meyer

Just finished a wonderful afternoon. Had a pizza and wine on overlook of mountains and valleys. We had a cabernet for $38 a bottle that was terrific. We even bought another one on the way out. (Got A military discount). Service was friendly which made for a good experience. This is an absolutely beautiful setting.

Srikant Rachakonda

Great atmosphere but wine is a tad bit expensive..

Brian Jack

Massive expanse. Has kid-friendly and non-kid-friendly areas. Plenty of pets. Wine decent but dry with funny little substances at the bottom that they claim to be an "organic chemical reaction."

Sonja Twiford

I came to the winery with girlfriends for a 50th Bday party. Right in the door, I was told we couldn't have outside food ie: the birthday cake inside. Outside it was 100° in the shade. Outside on the patio, there were no fans. So, for people who are drinking wine, you can't have food inside, and there are not fans available outside. So there are situations where you can't eat or can't be cooled off. That sounds like a recipe for disaster. You are either creating a situation where people can't eat while they drink, or they can be overheating outside trying to get a bite to eat. The person at the door was more concerned about us having outside food than the intoxicated girl falling over on our cake. I see where the importance lies. For a group of 5 women, we were visited by the 12 year old manager at least 5 times. He was very concerned about our birthday cake being opened indoors. I joined the wine club just to use the air conditioned portion of the indoors, just to be told we couldn't even bring food inside from the food trucks. Jeremy said he would find us something cooler and we never saw him again. I dont think we will be back. This is a very poorly run business. In the end I decided to cancel my wine membership, it isnt worth the hassle.....

Nick Denissen

Beautiful wedding venue. Huge outdoor seating area.

Heather Y

Really enjoyed this winery. Great location with amazing views of the vineyard and surrounding area. Plenty of indoor or outdoor seating to choose from including a balcony over looking the area. It was very busy but we still had no problem finding a comfortable place to sit with a view. The wine tasting was very fun & we had a very personable server who was very knowledgeable in the different wines offered. We found several wines we liked so much we purchased a few bottles to take home. There is fresh wood fired pizza available to order and it was VERY good, so good we ate our first order and then ordered again to take two pies home. It would be nice if their hours were extended to a little later in the evenings during the peak season. Definitely one of the nicest wineries in the area.

Audie O

I would give this winery 5 stars, but the lack of trees for shades I'm forced to give only 4. So I'm reluctant to come to this place during hot days. I would give 5 stars for the interior and outside seating area though, but again lack of shades. The food is pricey, but the wine is good price. The cellar is great. See my pictures

Jon Ragsdale

Excellent staff, good selection, wish I could stay to see all they have to offer!

Charlie Clamhop

This place is awesome and you should go, it will no disappoint you. The facility and views are incredible and the Estate label wine is absolutely fantastic. So why the two star rating? We booked a 3 hour reservation for 16 people for a birthday party on Sat 8/18). The weather had been rainy and the outside seating cushions in our reserved area were soaking wet when we arrived. Not a problem, Court greeted us and offered to seat us inside the barn where it is was dry and we accepted. We had a great party and spent more than $600.00 on wine and facility fees. So here is why I'm giving them two stars. Enter Kevin, "the Manager". When we paid up the tab for the birthday party, we asked if we could sit outside on the patio and were told "no" that we needed a reservation for party's of more than 8 people. We pointed out to Kevin that they had plenty of space on the patio, but he insisted that he must follow the policy. Kevin was polite enough, but I just found it odd that he could not use some discretion to accommodate us. We were able to convince Kevin to let us stay for an additional 30 minutes, but what a hassle. The rest of the staff were great and I'm sure Kevin was just following orders. Hint to upper management... empower your employees with some latitude and discretion, especially when we're spending money at your winery.

DK Stewart

We were out searching for dog friendly wineries and we found one here that will DEFINITELY be a repeat. Easy to get to from any direction, the views are awesome, facilities welcoming and comfortable, and a remarkable staff. There was a vendor--I forget the name--outside with a portable wood fired pizza oven that makes amazing pizzas, normally there on Saturdays.

Frank Hong

One of the better

Lacey Walker

Great atmosphere, great wine.

Christina Gossart

What an amazing place! They are so consistent with the quality of wine and their customer service. I first came here last year to celebrate my mom’s 50th birthday and they were wonderful to us! I came back with my work and got the behind the scenes tour. What a cool experience! Now I’m a wine club member and can’t wait to attend some events and tastings. Service is great, the views are amazing and the wines never disappoint! If you haven’t been, you’re missing out!

C Hogan

The tranquil views of verdant Virginia hills and vineyards are worth the trek. The wines are pleasant and there are a variety of nooks and tables inviting you to sip a while. Do the tasting, about $15, then get a bottle and find a place to relax. They also have artisan style pizzas and food trucks on the weekends.

Edward BB

Good place to visit friends and enjoy a couple of hours. You can take kids with you. You can't bring your own wine.

Zeinab Iranmanesh

I wish I could give zero stars, the service is terrible on a crowded Sunday, the place is so so stuffy and hot, no one greets or attends you when you get in, and there are flies , SO MANY flies everywhere. Not only live ones but dead ones everywhere. Horrible place and service.

Pritam Sadhukhan

A must visit place during the spring!

Jake Mercurio

If you're looking for French style wines in a lovely outdoor setting this is the place for you. Only about half the wines are estate grown, but this means you'll be able to enjoy a Bordeaux Blend, a French style Sav Blanc, and a delicious French sparking rose without leaving Virginia! Just to be clear all wines are made on site, it's just they import some grapes that don't grow well here. You MUST try the estate grown Petit Verdot. It's complex, dry, and we'll balanced--its rare that a wine maker puts this much finesse into what's normally a varietal for balancing out blends and it really shows. For the hot Virginia summer I recommend either Sauvignon Blanc or the sparkling rosé, and feel free to bring your kids and dog along for the tasting!

David Walker

Upon arriving at dinner tower the facilities look impressive. Different businesses have food stations setup, there is plenty of parking and dog/kid friendly areas. The wine tasting itself is meh. There were so many people there it is kind of confusing what the flow was supposed to be. When we did get a spot the guides are just looking to move the bodies through so wine was quickly poured with some explanation, but little personal touch. It is also relatively expensive. Not only in wines per tasting, but overall the bottles they have felt very expensive for the quality. Overall the visit was good. If you want to bring your dog and kids to a fun place where you can drink wine this is a good option. If you're looking for a good winery experience there are better options.

tyler tz

The views are amazing here the place is clean there's lots of things to do like Cornhole and some trails to walk down

Jalan W B

Gorgeous setting. Here for a wine tour bachelorette party. It is a perfect venue for it! Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Wine was variable - some were really good, others were not. Beautiful setting. I will be back!

Corine Roberts

By far the most overrated winery in Virginia. The winery is over priced and the wine honestly tastes disgusting. They probablyhave to grow grapes in France just to stay in business. We went with a party of eight and I could tell not one person liked any of the wine. On top of that we payed almost 60 dollars a person for a tasting?! A TASTING! Honestly save your time and money because they’re a ton of better quality wineries in the area. You could go to Maggie’s wine cave, two twisted posts, and crushed cellars for better views and wine. I’m sorry for anyone who wastes their money here, as the smaller wineries in Virginia have friendly staff and WAY better views.

Francisco Serrano

Nice Virginia winery. Cozy atmosphere and great to celebrate special occasions.

Erin McGuire

If heaven had a twin, this place would be it

Eva T

Gorgeous place! Amazing wine! I'm giving 3 stars because the two times I went they didn't have free water available. It was frustrating but also illegal

Eryn Massey

I would love to rate this place without giving a star. I went with a couple of friends, and we felt discriminated because of our age. My friends and I drink wine most of our time and not beer. They poured the wine really crappy for us, did not explain what the wine was and it’s qualities. They just poured and walked away and left us to discuss the wine for ourselves. Lastly, they are over priced for not a great quality or customer service. I will never go there again for a tasting.

Shannon Lowe

Beautiful views. Very crowded. Good wine.

Nancy b

Event planners very poor at providing what they do and don’t supply. No table cloths “they are for wine tastings only” not for wedding rehearsal dinners! Oh, and you want to drink wine? We’ll be prepared to supply your own stemware; small bit of info that would have been nice to know less than 24 hours prior to the dinner. They failed to let the caterer know!! Unprofessional and immature. Yes, the winery and view is beautiful. A point they repeated over and over again. However, service and assistance to make the event wonderful sadly, lowed the joy!!

John Murphy

Great place to be Club Member. Late night Friday's.

Jen P

Not family friendly at all. Hottest day of the year, a Sunday, live music playing in the air conditioned adults only section and the 'family friendly' barn registered at over 80 degrees. The band had seating for over 100 with literally 30 people there and they refused to make an exception for the extreme heat and give the children a relief in those conditions. Horrible customer service. Lost over 20 customers today.

Jason Jones

Excellent atmosphere. Reasonable bottle prices. Bring a group of friends to enjoy it with.

Anshu B

Beautiful and great wine! Mmmmm

Maria Wergley

Do not go here if you have a group larger than 6. We came in a limo with 10 people and were turned away. The place was completely empty but they insisted we spend $300 fee just to get in. If we had done 2 Ubers instead of the limo it would of been completely fine. Woman was completely rude. Turned our limo around and went to 3 other wineries with no issue. Gladly spend your money elsewhere.

Emily O.

We recently attended a wedding here, and it was gorgeous!! The wedding had a separate entrance and everything was secluded from the public area, but it wasn't closed to the public during the wedding. I thought that was nice. The food was delicious, and the decor and ambiance was very charming, rustic, but not too much. The space was also really open in the main dining area, but then there were other rooms in the "cocktail hour" area as well, so it was a little more of an "at home" feel. I would definitely go back.

David Hazard

Great wines. Friendly, knowledgeable servers. Wonderful, comfortable facility, with absolutely stunning views all around. Their wine pairing dinners and outdoor bakes are delicious, more than you can eat, and a lot of fun !

Vincent Cresce

Good winery with a great view! Felt the space was a little tight and the lines were a bit long but overall

Anita Knicely

These people are wonderful and this place is a "must visit"!

Richard Corley

The port is great..very well and educational tour

Lisa Fisher

Stone Tower has consistently had delicious wines and done an outstanding job with their customer service. We took out of town guests their recently and had an informative, enjoyable, tasty experience. Everyone raved about the wines and venue.

Gary Gallichio

A beautiful place. I went to a wedding and the reception there. The venue was picturesque, the food and wine were amazing, and the staff was outstanding.

Chris Marchetti

The most beautiful winery in Loudoun. Great wines too.

Melissa Posey

Always a great time, beautiful property.

Scott Munn

I am a member and enjoy Friday nights at Stone Tower!

Jesse Thibodeaux

Visited the winery last Monday and had a wonderful time. The atmosphere, snacks and more importantly the wines were fantastic. Stacy Nagaj, our Brand Ambassador, was an absolute gem. I’m looking forward to enjoying my take home bottles and our next visit. I wish we lived closer.

Jeanne

Went on a Thursday afternoon. The place was pretty quiet which was awesome. The views were great. Joe was awesome and we learned a lot about the wines!

Lizzie Griffett

The winery was great and our tour guide very knowledgeable. I gave the review a 4 out of 5 on the basis of the early closing time on Saturdays. We had a wine tour booked for 4.15 but due to traffic delays didn't get started until 4.30. We were then told that they stopped uncorking at 5.30. We rushed through the tasting so that we could grab a bottle of wine and enjoy the last 30 minutes or so of relaxing on the deck. It would have been much more pleasant to sit for a few hours. So BE AWARE of this and go early.

Adam Twardowski

Excellent wine and beautiful scenery. Really enjoyed the afternoon here.

Marcos Flores

There's no doubt that the views are beautiful at the Stone Tower Winery, but out of the 235 Wineries in Virginia, this is by far the WORST SERVICE I've ever received. Starting by how we got moved, to waiting 1 hour for my bottle, (1:07 to be exact) then how, in a very unprofessional manner, one of the managers came to accuse me of treating one of her employees in a less than "Optimal" manner when all I was doing was asking where my bottle was. And that's not to even mentioned the extra hundred dollars I got charged (I was a party of Two)..I'm never NEVER Coming Here. These young managers have no people skills, no sense of common sense or proper manners. We felt mistreated, and abused. I addition to this review, Ill be contacting the better business bureau to let them know about my experience.

Nicole Hawley

Beautiful views and a fun environment

Ben Miller

Had a great time. Best VA wine I've had. Delicious food trucks. Wine was a but pricey.

LaJeune Marbury

The virginia winery to visit. Great wines, great indoor and outdoor space and friendly staff. Love Stone Tower. You won't be disappointed.

Christiane Fuchs

Nice views, great red wines, Picknick and lovely seating areas. Also kids friendly...

Tammy Gordon

My favorite winery near DC. Gorgeous views. Incredible tasting experience. Good vino. Fabulous way to while away a day. + the barn and lawn are gloriously pet and kid friendly.

Rouxle Wolmarans

What a family friendly venue. Awesome time. Lovely setting with breath taking views.

Ben Runyon

Gorgeous views, good wine and great staff. Dog friendly and child friendly. Loved the food trucks and local artist truck there as well.

Carlos Bernard

Really good wine and pizza. I've never been a big wine drinker, but I liked every one of the wines from the tasting. The white pizza with mushrooms and bacon was amazing as well.

Karlie Leung

Family and dog friendly. We only went to the barn side since we have kids. Their Rosé was great for a hot summer day and you can bring your own picnic. Had a good time. The only complaint I have is not enough bathrooms on a busy day and you have to line up in the sun.

Karrie Fields

Best wine tour I have ever taken! Hospitality used to notch. Definitely worth your time and money!

Melissa Steward

Scenery and staff were great! The wines were just ok, either too acidic or sweet. Very crowded on Saturday.

Brody Ruffner

The venue is beautiful, wine quality is great, staff is knowledgeable and friendly, however the crowd made service limited and outside food can only be consumed outdoors on the patio which was inconvenient

Jay Belles

Amazing place. Great setup for any occasion. Separate tasting area for folks with kids. Really enjoy the wines - the rose is always great for a hot sun day

C.L. Greene

Very nice environment...great scenery, great wines, and great wood-fired pizza too!

Jaskirat Basra

Great views/winery. Def recommend

John Bustamante

Everything about this winery is amazing. It was our first time at this winery. When we entered the building, the hostess was very friendly and showed us to the bar where we would be having our wine tasting. The customer service was awesome. Definitely will be going back.

Rusty McNeely

Stacy was a pleasure to talk with and very knowledgeable. Nice atmosphere to the tasting house and a very comfortable place. Enjoyed the visit and will be visiting again!

Matthew Mostafaei

Beautiful views, great wine. Lots of outdoor space too!!

Stephanie Barnett

My husband and I are making an effort to visit as many Virginia wineries as possible and this one definitely has some pluses (and minuses). PLUS: Space and views are great - we felt like the "family" side (kids and dog friendly) was a lot more approachable (and we don't have kids)...it's in the original tasting room, which is a really nice, rustic barn with a ton of outdoor space. Multiple food vendors were around and it was a lovely place to sit and enjoy the views. The "Adult" side (21+), has a much more formal feel and great decor - definitely perfect if you're going out with a group of people and want to have a more sophisticated feel to your experience. I liked that you can almost choose what kind of experience you want to have based on the spaces. Both areas were very open, so you don't feel crammed in with everyone else like sardines. MINUS: The tasting didn't include more than one wine made from actual Virginia grapes. Personally, I would prefer to see at least two or three wines made from Virginia grapes on the menu. I understand wanting to have a variety, but you're a Virginia winery with 300 acres (obviously not all are planted but still). Perhaps those wines are for purchase only, or reserved for club members? Not sure, didn't ask. When I asked where the grapes for the tasting menu wines were from I was told they were from "all over". Regardless, the wines are very good quality, although a bit pricey for my wallet - but I expect that for a Loudoun County address...

Harsha Sarjapur

Great location of vineyard, place to unwind. Tasting room, food truck, marketplace and ambience for weekend trip. Local wines yet to hit their shelves.

Dez

Sucks. If you have a party don’t count on being let in. Total disappointment and and lies on the phone saying we could come. Plus side - they give you bottles of wine to leave. Real classy. On to the next winery.

Lisa Houle

This is the best place to chill and enjoy amazing wine. Love it!

Aleksandra Liaplina

It's a beautiful place, but it is the only good thing about it. The service is terrible. They would not give guests wifi password. Be prepared to be told not to sit here and not to stand there. There are all these special areas "for members only" all around the property. We were told not to sit under a tree because it happens to be in a special wedding area (no signs of this are around). We came to relax, and had absolutely horrible experience.

Dushyant Tomar

Its kids friendly, and very scenic. Most importantly great wine.

As always the Stone Tower Winery provided an incredibly picturesque setting. We sat in the back room for a couple of hours, and then we moved to the patio in the front while we were waiting for the Bluegrass and BBQ event to begin. Even though we shouldn’t have been out there Ken let us stay until the event started. He and the rest of the staff were very very friendly and polite. Will definitely return!!!

Zach Upton

Excellent venue with very nice staff. Views are great!

Tim Pfeiffer

By far one of my favorite wineries! The venue is huge (inside and out), wine is amazing, food is great, and the views are breathtaking. They even have an area of the winery that is “family and pet friendly” and a side that is 21+. We will for sure be coming back X10!

Charlotte Slaiman

Very nice (and expansive) grounds to explore. I was also impressed with the wine. They offer tastings or you can just get a glass or bottle and hang out. Prices are about average for the area. There is a kid-friendly area and an adults only area which I think is a great idea.

Darrell Gullatt

Not accommodating to groups. Most of the staff was friendly, but one actively tried to play like the tooth security guard.

First visit, huge winery and amazing views! Positives: -Sarah did our tasting and she gave us an amazing experience, full of energy and super fun! -Beautiful venue -Spacious tasting room areas -Ample indoor and outdoor seating, including umbrellas at tables outdoors -Amazing brick oven pizza - 4 varieties! Wine and pizza go together! -You can bring your own food just not inside to the tasting room anymore -Actually bought the Sauvignon Blanc which was a hefty price tag of $40 but I really enjoyed it and it's rare that I ever buy white wine. Negatives: -$15 Tasting was a little pricey -Did not find any red wines that I enjoyed enough to buy a bottle or glass of. -The Chardonnay is not oaky or buttery if that's what you are looking for. I will definitely come back!

Beautiful Hogback Mountain setting with very good wines, especially the Malbec, Pinot Noir and Petit Verdot. Loved the Wild Boar Sauvignon Blanc and Blanc de Noirs, too. Val, who conducted our tasting, was friendly and knowledgeable. Wood fired pizza was available via food truck. We didn't have time to try it, but it smelled amazing. Pretty outside seating areas overlook mountains and vines for those who want to enjoy a glass of wine and/or picnic or pizza.

I can honestly say this is the most beautiful winery I have ever been to. I spent my birthday here with family and we ended up staying for 6 hours because we enjoyed it so much. The wine is fantastic (especially the malbec and chardonnay), the BBQ was tasty, and the scenery is something out of a book. We snagged one of the outdoor sectional couches early in the day and were really happy, considering how busy it got later in the afternoon. We even purchased a cucumber melon candle that was made from an upcycled sparkling wine bottle...so cool! I highly recommend this place for a date spot, birthday party, or family gathering...you will not be disappointed!

Mark Masters

Very very crowded on this bright spring day. it may have been too much for the stuff to handle one place ran out of pizza the second place ran out after I ordered. The pizza was looking fantastic but was under done

Jennifer Woodson

Jill was great! And the malbec was delicious!

vihang pandya

Surprised by the facilities for outdoor sitting area... really beautiful and fun!!

Alex Holston

I have had many a memorable experience here... talking for hours... or enjoying a private event with friends. I liked it so much I decided to become a member. Something I have not done in a few years... so excited to get back to it. Today was a quiet reflective Sunday. Just by myself. Which this place is also perfect for. The place was filled with small and large groups of friends and family catching up. The bar staff phenomenal at recommending red. Life is good.

Claudette Chenevert

Good wines, fun atmosphere, a bit pricey per bottle. But still a good place to hang out.

BK Dickerson

One of our favorite wineries! Great wine, a likely over priced but good, but stunning views and atmosphere. We are members and love it

Jake Brown

Great wine in a beautiful setting.

Bradley Melnyk

Visited today for the first time. They say first impressions are the most important and this place did not disappoint. It is such a beautiful place to visit, rollings hills, beautiful structures built on this amazing winery. So after taking in the breath taking sites, we went inside for a tasting. The employee serving us was Sherri, who by the way was absolutely amazing and took care of us so much. So after going through a tasting I was blown away. The wine is amazing, the view amazing and the overall experience today was absolutely perfect. I will be coming back for sure again and again. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Another winery selling overpriced wine. If Sterling/Ashburn is the home of the Data Farm, I guess Leesburg is the home of the Wine Farm. They have very nice bottles of $15 reds. Too bad they cost $40

Darcy Stewart

Nice venue. Wine tastings are expensive and it all tastes like snake oil. It was a disappointment for the drive.

Eric Lee

Great place for a celebration or just to take in the scenery and some great tasting wine. The private wine tasting was informative and well done. The new building is very nice. They have one building where kids and dogs are allowed and one for adults only. No food is provided due to va law.

Nick Pavlosky

Talk about overpriced. This place is the definition of overpriced. Cheapest bottle is $42. 6 tastings for $15 and the wine isn’t anything to brag about by any means. Only reason for the 2 star review is the venue is an awesome setting and atmosphere.

Neeva Bose

We love coming to Stone Tower! Views are epic, wines are delicious and the atmosphere is divine. Last time we went there was also wood fire pizza. There's also a separate area for kids/families which is awesome.

Rebecca Sanders

Great winery with a little something for everyone. One side is more for adults 21+ which is separated by about 50-60yards of space until you reach the other complex which is for everyone families etc. Have few good food trucks that are always there along with private rental area's. Plenty of outdoor area for kids to play and lots of outdoor seating. Wines good and service is great!

Diane Giardina

Really fun place to meet up with family or friends. We were in Harvest Barn where kids and dogs are welcome. Stayed all day! Beautiful location!

Emily Wagner

Easy-going atmosphere, smooth drinking wines, and beautiful views. Pack a picnic basket of food, stake out a table on the balcony, and buy a bottle or two to share with friends, and you’ve got yourself a wonderful afternoon! On weekends they have fresh-baked ciabatta bread from a nearby bakery. They also have cheese and crackers for purchase. Really great experience!

Jessica McKinnon

Expensive, but the wine, facility and overall experience made it well worth it. I particularly love that they have two tasting facilities: one is strictly 21 and older, and the other is family and pet friendly.

Paula Shawber

Five stars all the way!! The winery and view is beautiful! ❤️ loved the wines and have visited many times. I can’t say enough about this winery! I truly enjoy the atmosphere and view. It’s just beautiful!

Rob Coulter

Love Stone Tower - fantastic wines; wonderful staff. Many Thanks to your Brand Ambassador, Joe Smith.

This is flat out one of the best wineries in Northern Virginia; their reds are of a very high quality only rivaled IMO to Barboursville Winery, and their whites are on par with any competing winery in the area. Combine that with a large facility that hosts dogs, kids, as well as an adults only area and you have the makings of a great afternoon. The atmosphere and the views are exceptional, and they employ a competent and professional staff. We became members here last year and come out quite often. They also have well regarded party and wedding facilities as well as food trucks that serve very good food including pizza and BBQ. As a side note, I have read some very negative reviews from people who have just shown up with groups of 8 or more. Without reservations, they will politely ask you to leave, and frankly for good reason as they tend to accommodate mostly smaller groups and couples. So for large groups, do yourself a favor and just call ahead a couple of weeks and get your reservations in and you will have a good experience.

Trinity TAYLOR

Great Experience! I would definitely recommend people go for the tour & tasting, its well worth it. The staff were extremely friendly, informative & attentive.

Seemed like a nice place? The parking lot was full on a Saturday, so it is quite clearly a popular spot. Walking in we were told that there were three bars we could choose from: main level, upstairs, or downstairs. Okay. We found an empty table and sat down but no one came over to greet us, offer a menu, etc. So one person from our group went to the bar and asked for a menu and was told to look it over and return to the the bar to place an order. No tastings available you can only order by the glass or bottle... We left for a winery that offered tastings and service! (Dry Mill if you're interested) FYI: They have flatbreads you can order Friday-Sunday but no charcuterie boards. Also, walking through there were multiple tables with outside paper plates and snacks. So I guess bringing in outside food is acceptable.

We went for my Friends birthday celebration over the weekend. The place is beautiful and the pizza food truck was tasty. We had bought bottles of wine, we all had tastings and the Manager was beyond rude. He asked us to move away from the bar, as we were making him lose business. As i mentioned earlier, we had bought several bottles, for a group of 20. We asked him, could he relocate us to a spot where we could sit, he said, No. Mind you, right next to us sat 2 people and a dog ( that barked at everyone who walked by, and not once asked them to leave) with two huge couches for hours. I simply told him, you are making money from us, while those two sit for hours, taking up space and not evening buying any bottles. We as a group will not ever go back and I will tell others about our experience.. there are many other wineries where the managers are not impolite or rude. He needs to be a bit more accommodating and nicer to paying costumers.

florentinean

Terrific winery with an outstanding, family-friendly venue. Bring your own picnic food or buy something there. Lots of seating, and visitors were well behaved. Oh, and did I mention they have an excellent wine selection?

Mihir Desai

Attentive staff. Good variety of wines. Not as much food variety but a pleasant experience.

Steve Cornett

Neat atmosphere, wine was ok

admelinda rubio

Beautiful view of rolling hills from tasting room. My favorite is the Chardonnay.

Greg O

A bit secluded. As long as that's not an issue it's very nice

Alex Ng

Gorgeous vineyard. For the area I don't know that you can beat it. The separated tasting rooms are so clutch... adults only in the rear tasting room

Mo Jennings

Stacy was an amazing your guide. Learned so much about wine making while enjoying an incredible setting. Perfect wedding venue!

Kimberly Hurley

Beautiful wedding venue with lovely vineyard views, water features and stone masonry. The downstairs event hall was very cold but otherwise perfectly suited for 200+ seated guests, buffet dinner and full dance floor.

Tina Roy

Such a dream land. Come here on a sunny day with friends, on a date, or with family and you won't regret it. Delicious whites and roses. Tastings and pizza are expensive but I think it's worthit for the view and atmosphere. Also, mushroom and truffle pizza is delicious. Grab some prosciutto from the shop to top the pizza if you're in a meat eating mood

Jamie Cornejo

Our first time at a Winery what an amazing experience.

The Queen

Great tour and some very nice wines.

Adam Hall

Great views! Lots of seating. Mostly outdoors but not too bad for cold weather touring

Chris M

Our daughter had the wedding of her dreams at Stone Tower. 10-13-2018. Lauren our ST venue planner and all the staff on our day of were fabulous. The farmhouse for the girls and cottage for the boys to get ready were awesome. Ballroom spectacular for reception. The amount of breathtaking space you are able to enjoy with venue fee is priceless. Stone Tower Has always been our favorite winery and it now has a special place in our hearts. All our guests now understand why. We are from Maryland so all guests stayed for the weekend and were wowed by all Leesburg and Loudoun have to offer

Hannah Korrin

Get a glass (or two. Or four. I won't tell) of the Pursuit. It's like your throat is being massaged by smooth, creamy butter.

Sharon Murphy

Great time.

Ted Doll

The staff working the bars and pizza place were great. Awesome views. Liked the rose. However, there is a lot of competition in this space that hit those same marks. I will go back those places because they will let me use their wi-fi, they have more shade, they are less crowded, and the best reason: I can put out a picnic blanket and not uave staff come tell me my wife and I have to move because the area is for wedding guests only. The wedding guests weren't there. Service delivery trucks were still unpacking stuff to BEGIN setup. We would have been long gone by then. We asked for 15min to just enjoy the rose and the view and were told no. Ferp.
